I picked this because it has battery back up, not so common with solar fountains but you’d think it should be standard. Does the job well, looks and sounds great. Used for container bog filter and doing job well for cleaning water so it’s clear of algae. Thank you. Great price for under 25.
Worked well yesterday in the sun, today it’s overcast not working so well but that to be expected with little sun to power the fountain.
Does seem to have a decent amount of power and flow. Time will tell.
Good little water feature that’s solar powered, it’s very small and I was surprised how powerful the little thing is, obviously longevity will have to be seen but the solar panel does its job in in the height of summer, last about 1.5hrs when sun goes down. We intend to use it as a little pump and a pipe to create a tiny waterfall. For the money seems ok .
For the price it’s a great little addition to our pond, even with overcast weather the solar panel charges and the water spray can get quite high. Yes it will float towards the edge unless you have it fixed in place. But that’s not an annoyance as we managed to secure it to our island. Would be great in a patio pond too.
The nozzles can be used separately or in combinations to make double height fountains. Fit together easily but also pull apart to rearrange.
Came ready-charged so I could test it straight away. Definitely an advantage having a battery over the cheap solar-only one we already had.
If the sun goes in it still works for a bit because of the battery.
It comes with lots of different nozzles and I was able to fiddle with it to make sure it didn’t spray too far (it can go really tall and wide) because I just wanted it for my planter water feature. I didn’t want to lose water from the chamber by having it spray too far.
So it’s very adjustable.
Also if the water level gets too low, it stops. It won’t continue to try and work and burn out the motor, which is a great feature.
Great product though would buy agai
I would recommend leaving this in the sun for a day before you use it purely to give the battery time to charge and for it meet expectations.
Great product if you only want it operational in the sunlight.
I’ve bought this before, my last one kept going through the winter, even on the bleakest of days. It still works 2 years later, but not so efficiently, we decided that it had been so constant that we must have worn it out. I am hoping this updated version is just as good.
Alto smaller than I thought it was going to be but for 20 it does a great job at just moving some water around a bit and giving some ‘tinkling’ noises in a small water feature
1) well built seems sturdy
2) good length of cable
3) battery capacity is inadequate
4) early mornings and cloudy days it’s intermittent
5) if you disconnect the cable and allow the battery to charge and connect the cable then it runs smoothly problem occurs when the battery is drained over night and then it takes time to charge and discharge at the same time possibly a bigger solar plate can fix that.
wasn’t sure on a solar water pump but this item was much better than i expected . As soon as i got it out the box the pump started, i had to turn the panel over to stop it. Put in in my water feature and before i’d set the panel where i wanted it , the water was running , very impressed as it’s only a small pump, the solar panel is a good size.
I have a half barrel pond that I was previously using a solar power bank and usb pump to keep the water moving. I have tried several other solar pumps but always had the same problem – no power on slightly cloudy days. I have no outdoor power so was just resigned to charging the bank indoors every few days.
I saw this pump on two Youtube videos from fellow DIYers and thought I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did because it works a dream. It was grey and raining today but set it up nonetheless. I put the pump in the water and it worked instantly!
I highly recommend this to anyone.
We only put the fountain in pond yesterday and it worked straight away even though it was a bit overcast.
It was very easy to install and there are different types of fountain tops/heads to choose from in the packet. I chose the one with the most holes in it and it seems fine. We found that the fountain floated about a bit too much…..which we didn’t want…..because if it floats to the side, it will drain the water out the pond!!!
So we secured some strong wire around a rock and hooked the other end around the top of the fountain……and now the fountain stays put in the centre of the pond!!!! The fountain seems a good quality and so does the solar panel. The price was also very competitive. It was delivered quite quickly.
I wanted this for a deep birdbath I have; I had to play around with all the different fountain options until I found one that kept the water in the bath.
My husband put this together and installed in our little water feature and we are very pleased with how it operates so far. Does work in partial cloud but obviously works much better in full sun.
The only issue I have with it is that there’s no spike to stick it in the ground so you just have to prop it up against something, this is a bit of a pain as I can’t get full sun all the time so constantly moving it around.
This was way too powerful for what Ii needed. Suitable you a large pond. Foxes found the cable over night and chewed it into 18 pieces. Haven’t bothered to repai
This is powerful little solar pump. I’ve use it in a half barrel pond.Vety impressed with it.
Easy to set up & you can control the little motor so it doesn’t burn out. Also you are able to clean the pump.
It’s really powerful and doesn’t need constant sun because it’s got a battery to store the powe
Good product, easy set up and good range of fountain heads. Great customer service
Bought for a small garden pond. Solar panel is easy to mount and once you drop the pump in the water off it goes. Comes with several fountain head types but we use it without, just as attractive.
