This camera was easy to set up and provides a strong image with a responsive alarm system. Being able to remotely move the camera is very useful for keeping an eye on our property. A decent solar panel allows for strong power generation.
So far we have had no problems. Great features and highly recommended.
I love GENBOLT! This is my second gen bolt security camera but my first solar powered so if this works as well as my GB- 209, I will be more than happy.
The camera quality is good if you have a good enough WiFi connection. I had to buy a WiFi range extender, since the camera is installed on an thick external wall and not near any windows or other openings.
Unfortunately, the human motion detection seems to be a bit unreliable. I switched the setting to only notify me of human motion and not other types of motion, but it still seems to be picking up and notifying me of any type of motion.
The night vision via infrared and colour are both very clear and high quality
The volume is also very loud, but can be easily adjusted in the app, if you want it quieter.
I charged the solar panel battery indoors via the charging cable first, as recommended, but even after 1 day of charging it was still not at 100%. Although, when I set up the camera outside the solar panel was very effective and charged to 100% within an hour, and hasn’t reduced yet. The very sunny whether we are experiencing at the moment is probably helping. I’ll be interested to see how it copes in the winter.
It’s also great that this camera is rated IP66, unlike a lot of the other solar cameras on Amazon which are only IP65.
Overall, provided you set it up correctly, I think it is very good value for the price. I even bought a second one for the other side of the house.
This WiFi camera is brilliant. It is easy to use once you sort where to put the solar panel to charge. I contacted customer services and their service was second to none, really helpful. I would highly recommend this product and company. The camera on motion detector and night vision is really clear. You can zoom it in as well as take screen shots.

Good camera, manual not so good, I’ve already got the phone app and adding a camera should be easy. It’s a bit more complicated then you’d think (or, maybe it’s me) installed now and working.
It may be that I had an issue as I bought a warehouse deal and the product was used. I was fully refunded including postage . After this, Customer service contacted me and issued me with a brand new camera to test on their behalf . It is an excellent camera and Claire in Customer Service was brilliant. Definitely recommend
Fast and easy to set up with GENBOLT Pro app on phone and tablet.
Works even when the network does not and works during power cuts as all movement is detected and saved and can be retrieved later. Great for checking up remotely via the app. Recently used it while we were in Norway on a cruise ship to check on things.
Excellent value for money and does not require and wires as it’s solar powered. Battery performance is way better than I had expected.

I have bought the Genbolt wired Pan and Tilt in the past
When Genbolt released the Solar battery powered camera, I decided to try it out.
The delivery was quick.
The package arrived with the solar panel (larger than I expected), the camera and other accessories: a USB cable charger, an extension lead for the camera and solar panels (if you do not want to mount the solar panels on top of the camera. It allows to connect the solar panel elsewhere for optimal sunlight), mini screwdriver and Allen’s key.
I mounted the solar panels on top of the camera using the provided Allen’s key.
I read the booklet provided and easily added the device after downloading Genbolt Pro. It was easy once I read the booklet, but I was initially lazy and didn’t read it so it took longer.
Once the device was pared up, I could access the settings on my phone.
Will the Solar panelled Genbolt camera, I found that I could mount it anywhere unlike my previous Genbolt where I needed a electricity plugged. This allowed me to mount the camera on my outside balcony where I would not be possible normally.
Genbolt has options on it settling page. Most notably, it has a Humanoid detection setting where rather than have alerts for everything that moves, it picks up humanoid type objects. This reduces the motion alerts if you want to Monitor people.
Videos and screen shots are all recorded. The picture quality and resolution is quite high and faces are easily seen.
It even has an alarm function as an alert to warn off people.
Overall, this solar security powered camera is a keeper and it highly recommend.
Update: The seller sent me a replacement camera with to try out and it’s working fine. Thought it’s a plugged in indoors camera, it’s working fine. No issues with connection or the quality of the video.

Unfortunately one of the cameras I bought is faulty. Night vision is not responding, and it does not connect at all. In case that I will connect, I am not able to use the microphone or anything even when I select a specific angle in the camera, it changes on its own. Sad it was not working
I’ve been using this camera for about two weeks and I have to say it’s a nice piece of kit. Happy with the product build quality, packaging & instructions. Prior to installing on the wall, I have paired up and tested the camera. It’s quick and easy to understand. Connecting to the solar panel is also easy and charging has worked very well so far. The App is great too.
Video quality is great, Camera tilting feature is excellent & two way talking is awesome. I found all these features very useful. Motion detection works flawlessly with almost instant notification on phone.
The camera has survived the overnight rainfall & warm sunny afternoon. The lens are still clear and has not yet had to be cleaned.
I’m hoping that built-in high capacity battery would help to go through less sunny period however we can charge it with electricity too.
Overall, it’s a good camera and does what it says and fulfil my requirement with reasonable cost. highly recommended.

I got this solar battery operated camea just to see how it will perform. It came next day after ordering, well pckaged and protected as well. The camera seems well build and sturdy.
Once I logged in to the app the install was quick and simple, just follow the manual steps for installing the camera to the app.
What really surprise me in this camera is how great the colour night vision is, you do not need additional lighting to have very good visibility with the colour night vision, this is the best colour night vision camera that I have so far and I have a few. Also the infrared is great as well very clear picture.
I really like that this camera offers the PTZ that is great that you can move the camera to desired position or follow something with it while looking through the app. It also has the 8 times digital zoom, which is great if you want to see seomthing quick up close.
This camera also offers 2 way audio, that is always very helpful for example scaring something away, or if you place the camera by the door you can talk with the person prior to answering the door. The audio works quite clearly so I’m happy with that aspect as well.
This camera also offers humanoid detection and face marker. I personally don’t use that at this time but for those who need it it’s a great option to have. I use the camera to detect wild life in my surroundings.
In the app under Power management you can choose the following recording modes:
Best power saving – this setting will record moving objects 10s, 20s or 30s and the camera will go to sleep.
Best recording – this setting will record moving objects past the 1-s, 20s or 30s until there is no more motion.
Keep recording – this setting will keep the camera awake and always in recording mode, but it will cause the battery to be consumed to quickly.
Adaptive mode – this setting will stay in recording mode if the battery is sufficient, if the battery is low it will switch to the Best recording mode.
So far I did not have any problems with the battery and solar charging. It was – 6 Celsius here and felt like -13, the battery was low so I thought it will have a problem but every time I turned the app on to view the camera it was workign fine even though the battery was very low. I was worried it won’t work at all. Plus it was snowing here practically every day and lots of cloudy days. Then the temperature had gotten a bit warmer -1 and to my surprise I see that the battery is fully charged now even though there was no sun, the performance of the camera was not affected. Don’t know how it’s going to be further down the road but so far so good.
I really like this camera, how it performs, especially that it is battery operated and will be able to put it in a place where there is no power available so no need for extension cord.
My package was opened and the camera was not working properly. The Build seems good and I will update this review when I get to test. They emailed back very quickly. You must download the app then register with an account to use. I was able to set the app to use direct to the WIFI of the camera and not on an existing network, this is exactly what I need minus the app having to register and use cell location etc. The WIFI was not broadcasting reliably so I am waiting for a new one. Returned successfully, thank you.
I didn’t have any problems configuring it, it’s working fine, the batteries seems to last long because the camera wakes up when it detect something from the movement sensor and then send a notification on your phone.
Skimpy documentation. Using tiny pictures to show how to set it up. Poor English grammar and word choice coming from mandarin. Otherwise works as described. I can’t set the daylight saving time. Pushing save on the app gives wait circle forever.
This one so far works annoyingly good. The solar charger keeps the battery at full capacity and rarely drops. This means I can have it on the best recording option.
I bought a 2nd one and this also works just as well.

* This camera can detect your presence almost promptly and records all activities in “playback” menu. However some of the triggered activities have not been notified in “News” menu, although we can find these relevant videos in “playback”.
* Speaker volume is good (load enough)
* Battery and solar panel: during 1 month usage, battery level has always been 100% full
* The camera does not sense movement behind a clear glass door.
* Easy installation.
Overall, very good value for the money spent!

The GENBOLT WiFi Security Camera with solar panel is a great device for a wirefree and troublefree installation. The only thing you need is a wireless connection in the vicinity and you can place this camera anywhere you want outdoors as long as it is in sight of the sun.
The camera produces amazing quality images, it’s very easily controlled via your smart phone app and took 5 minutes to get all set up to the WiFi network. The device has a 15600 mAh rechargeable battery that lasts weeks without recharge but luckily is constantly charged every day from the sun, meaning so far the battery never runs out.
The camera also has PIR Face Detection and colour night vision. Overall a really impressive camera and well worth the money.

The camera was well packaged and clearly sturdy and well made. The solar panel attaches to the camera using a supplied Allen key and can easily be adjusted for the best angle to catch the sun. Connecting to the app is easy as all you do is point the camera at a QR code generated in the app. Initially I had some problems but the supplier sorted that out by making some changes at their end. This is an indication of excellent customer support.
Once it was set up the picture quality is really good as can be seen from the attached photos. One is from the app and the other is a screenshot from my iPhone. Control is easy by simply swiping your finger on the phone’s screen. As it doesn’t need any wired connection at all it is great for installing in awkward locations (I put mine on a small wood store across my garden).
The camera comes in a well packaging box. It says 2K but the image doesn’t looks that quality. The camera is light weight but the solar panel is light weighted. Using the alien key provided its easy to install the solar panel and it is adjustable. The panel is excellent as its charging in full fast and holds power very well. This might be different in winter time. The software to install the camera is genbolt pro and easy to install.
Make sure you have good Wi-Fi signal as the Wi-Fi power on this camera is not as much as other competitor’s. Two options to see the image select SD or HD. ITs not staying in HD mode .
This camera features privacy modes and alarm trigger options . Alerts works fine with android.
See the quality of images I posted. Overall support is OK. I am a fan of genbolt as I have more than one genbolt cameras.

For the price this is amazing value. The camera is full featured and sturdily built. The picture quality is excellent. I already had 2 outdoor Genbolt cameras and was so impressed by them that I bought this one for keeping an eye on the dog indoors. The iOS app works well and is fairly intuitive. Having a MacBook the web interface doesn’t work as it relies on Adobe Flash which is now obsolete. However within a very short time of contacting the seller I was sent a download link for a MacOS app (also Windows if that’s your thing) which does the job well. I had a problem with not getting videos by FTP to my NAS but within minutes of contacting the seller (thanks again Awind!) I got everything working. The solution was very simple – insert an SD card in the camera. Why this is necessary for FTP I don’t know but there you are. So for around 25 you can’t beat this little beauty.
I got this to keep an eye on my motorcycles. I already had one which is in my elderly fathers lounge so I knew the capabilities.
They key thing for me is that it has ONVIF support and will hook up to my synology nas servers so I can save the recordings.
Set up is easy. Hook it up to a wired connection, let it get an IP address and then access it from the app to add a wireless connection. Once that is done, it all just works.
The Android and IOS apps work just fine and I can view things from anywhere.
I am fascinated of the quality of the live feed and play backs. It’s easily configured.
I dislike the fact that you don’t get a choice of a screen when purchasing it. As using your phone constantly drains your battery.

– This is my second purchase to buy the GENBOLT camera. The first one was not a solar panel camera but the quality of the item was good. So, I chose this solar panel camera as I wanted one that doesn’t need plugging in through the wall.
The initial Installation for this solar panel camera took a bit more time than the normal GENBOLT cameras. This is due to it needing to charge the solar panel with a normal USB cable before the installation. But once it was done, the rest of the installation was all too easy.
The provided app for the mobile is easy and great to use, too. And connecting the camera to the wifi was very easy to complete by following the guide booklet. The qualities for the night vision, motion detection and pictures are nice too. The best point of this camera is you don’t have to make a hole through the wall to plug it in. Also some other brand cameras ask for an extra regular fee to keep the images/videos for using their cloud. However, for this camera you just need to simply insert a micro SD card.

* This camera can detect your presence almost promptly and records all activities in “playback” menu. However some of the triggered activities have not been notified in “News” menu, although we can find these relevant videos in “playback”.
* Speaker volume is good (load enough)
* Battery and solar panel: during 1 month usage, battery level has always been 100% full
* The camera does not sense movement behind a clear glass door.
* Easy installation.
Overall, very good value for the money spent!

The camera produces amazing quality images, it’s very easily controlled via your smart phone app and took 5 minutes to get all set up to the WiFi network. The device has a 15600 mAh rechargeable battery that lasts weeks without recharge but luckily is constantly charged every day from the sun, meaning so far the battery never runs out.
The camera also has PIR Face Detection and colour night vision. Overall a really impressive camera and well worth the money.
Once it was set up the picture quality is really good as can be seen from the attached photos. One is from the app and the other is a screenshot from my iPhone. Control is easy by simply swiping your finger on the phone’s screen. As it doesn’t need any wired connection at all it is great for installing in awkward locations (I put mine on a small wood store across my garden).
All in all a great bit of kit.
Make sure you have good Wi-Fi signal as the Wi-Fi power on this camera is not as much as other competitor’s. Two options to see the image select SD or HD. ITs not staying in HD mode .
This camera features privacy modes and alarm trigger options . Alerts works fine with android.
See the quality of images I posted. Overall support is OK. I am a fan of genbolt as I have more than one genbolt cameras.

Used this as part of a Synology SS setup. Can confirm it works with the ONVIF settings and appear to have full PTZ control, too.
Image quality is great for the price.
I use this product to watch my dogs while I am at work. Great scope and very easy to use
I got this to keep an eye on my motorcycles. I already had one which is in my elderly fathers lounge so I knew the capabilities.
They key thing for me is that it has ONVIF support and will hook up to my synology nas servers so I can save the recordings.
Set up is easy. Hook it up to a wired connection, let it get an IP address and then access it from the app to add a wireless connection. Once that is done, it all just works.
The Android and IOS apps work just fine and I can view things from anywhere.
To watch my dog when I’m out. The picture is so clear it’s fantastic.
I am fascinated of the quality of the live feed and play backs. It’s easily configured.
I dislike the fact that you don’t get a choice of a screen when purchasing it. As using your phone constantly drains your battery.
