I bought the CadMousePro wireless to use principally in Blender. Apart from Blender, my Apple mouse works adequately elsewhere. I bought this for two reasons: the middle mouse button and the scroll wheel. Try finding a mouse with a middle mouse button—not many out there. While Blender can be set up to work with a mouse without mmb there is more advantage to having it. The CadMouse scroll is better than other scroll wheels. I use this together with a SpaceMouse also sold by Connexxion and together the control they give in the Blender 3D environment is phenomenal.
While this mouse is more expensive than most it does work better than most. I bought this particular one principally because the quality of the SpaceMouse made me believe this mouse would be of similar quality, which I think it is. I bought this through Amazon from Motion Media. Motion Media is a great company and I have bought things from them before. The only con in all this is this mouse is too expensive nevertheless I will probably buy another if it fails in some way.
Extremely ergonomic and great for people with big hands. I use it everyday and charge it sometimes once a week or every other week.
Middle button really comes in handy after an entire day of heavy CAD use. (Especially on centered-based softwares like Creo)

Ottimo mouse, costruzione veramente premium. Decisamente una spanna sopra gli altri (anche come prezzo). Ergonomicamente mi piace molto ed perfetto per la mia mano. Purtroppo il software non allo stesso livello. Puoi settare le macro per ogni software e in alcuni pure per ambiente di lavoro. Per per esempio non puoi avere una configurazione di default. (devi preparare i tasti per ogni ambiente assurdo).

Mouse veramente bello dal punto di vista estetico. Dimensioni generose e ‘pesante’; tuttavia scorre veramente bene grazie al materiale di cui rivestito. Da imparare ad usare il terzo tasto… io lo utilizzo sul cad SW, pratico per la rotazione pan e tilt… costoso…
I’ve struggled with mice over the years for cad work being left handed and most mice seem to be right handed.
When my Razor mouse gave up recently I bought this one as a replacement. It is very comfortable and works well but having three mouse buttons has taken a bit of getting used to as my hand doesn’t sit naturally on the correct buttons.
I’m getting there and getting used to the customisable buttons for different programs. I have the side buttons configured as zoom in / out in AutoCAD which is a great help.
I wish I could have tried one before buying as I would have probably bought another Razor mouse instead but I didn’t so have this.
Ich hate die billigen Logitech-Muse satt, die mir meine Firma zur verfgung stellt. Wollte nicht mehr den ganzen Tag etwas so minderwertiges in der Hand haben. Meine Erwartungen wurden voll erfllt. Schon das Gewicht zeigt die Hochwertigkeit des Gertes. Klicken geht auf extrem kurzen Wegen mit eindeutiger aber leiser Rckmeldung. Was ich mir noch wnsche: Eine Wurzelholzvariante. Plastik bleibt halt Plastik.
As a professional user, this is my third CAD mouse. Stop, you are thinking it’s because the first two broke. No, they are that good I have one at home, one at the office and keep a spare in case the unthinkable happens.
The “pro” version is the one I recommend.
This mouse just overwhelmed my expectations.
By having to use the middle key to manipulate 3D part in Catia V5, it is so much more comfortable that having to press the rotary button.
Connected through the dongle to my PC and through Bluetooth with my Mac Mini M1 without having any issue.
Ergonomically speaking, this mouse is just GREAT for my hand size. I tried a lot of wireless mouses to replace my wired one and this is the one!!!

Sono un impiegato tecnico (ingegneria civile e architettura) che lavora praticamente 9 ore al PC con applicativi CAD, programmi di calcolo strutturale e computi metrici estimativi, suite office ecc.
Ultimamente mi sono messo in testa di aggiornare il mio amato mouse Logitech RX250 con un dispositivo wireless e con caratteristiche pi recenti, soprattutto a livello di sensore (la forma del mio mouse da manuale per quanto riguarda il modo con cui io impugno il mouse e le dimensioni della mia mano).
Dopo aver provato e scartato (veramente a malincuore) il celeberrimo Logitech MX Master 3 dato che non si adattava al mio tipo di presa (tendo a tenere la mano e il polso ruotati in senso orario verso destra autonomamente, anche senza una forma ergonomica che me lo imponga) principalmente dovuto alla sue secondo me esagerata altezza e alla sua forma un p troppo sinuosa, ho voluto provare i mouse della altrettanto rinnomata 3D Connexion.
Conoscevo gi il marchio perch mio padre, che lavora con programmi 3D in ambito termo-plastico/stampi/ecc, possiede e utilizza con soddisfazione lo spacemouse.
Dato che nella mia ricerca del mouse perfetto ho capito di avere una mano dalle dimensioni medie, e di trovarmi meglio con profili non troppo alti (poco sopra o poco sotto i 40 mm) ho da prima optato per il CadMouse Compact Wireless, col quale devo dire non mi trovavo male anche se la dimensione era un p al limite per la mia mano (19 cm da inizio palmo a fine dito medio e 9,5 cm di larghezza). Ho quindi provato con il gemello cablato Compact oggetto di questa recensione, sempre compatto ma con qualche mm in pi in tutte e 3 le dimensioni.
Devo dire che l’ergonomia ne ha giovato, essendo un tantino pi alto soprattutto sul lato destro, evitando che anulare e mignolo interferissero troppo tra loro, cosa che avveniva sulla versione Compact Wireless.
Ho quindi provato a usarlo un p a casa, su qualche lavoretto personale con CAD, dato che il tutto avvenuto mentre ero in ferie. (a casa ho windows 10, e il software ha dato mille problemi, tra cui il non mantenere in memoria le mie preferenze e personalizzazioni)
Purtroppo dopo averlo provato seriamente con delle vere sessioni lavoro CAD ho capito 3 cose:
– la possibilit di non dover schiacciare la rotella ma di avere un tasto dedicato un ottima cosa senza dubbio;
– l’anulare che fa il lavoro del dito medio non riesco proprio a digerirlo;
– l’anulare che collabora col mignolo per conferirmi una presa salda del mouse per me pi importante di quello che pensavo.
A questo aggiungiamo che tornato a lavoro, dove montiamo ancora Windows 7 per esigenze di compatibilit con certi software che utilizziamo scopro con amarezza che il software non supportato, costringendomi a utilizzare il mouse senza la possibilit degli strumenti di personalizzazione e controllo incorporati nel programma, e costringendomi a trovare metodi alternativi per applicare modifiche ai tasti ecc. e senza la possibilit di utilizzare il menu radiale (non che fosse una grande perdit dato che non lo trovavo molto utile utilizzando gi i comandi tastiera).
Tengo duro ancora qualche giorno, ma preda dei dolori al braccio sopraggiunti e deluso dalla mancanza di supporto software decido di fare il reso e tornare al mio vecchio mouse.
Quanto meno l’esperienza mi ha fatto capire che io lavoro meglio utilizzando un mouse dalle forme classiche e non mi serve (anzi mi impiccia) un forma particolarmente ergonomica, dato che la mia presa del mouse lo gi.
Ovviamente mi rendo conto che il mio caso davvero molto soggettivo e che invece altre persone possano davvero giovare dai punti che a me hanno causato fastidio, quindi la mia valutazione si basa meramente sull’oggetto e la sua qualit, oltre che su tutti gli elementi di contorno ma non meno importanti.
Quindi consiglio il mouse solo a chi utilizza windows 10 e utilizza programmi CAD per molto tempo. Se la vostra presa del mouse consiste nel tenere il pollice a sinistra, 3 dita sul mouse e solo il mignolo a destra secondo me non dovreste avere problemi di adattamento alla presa di un cadmouse, se invece come me a destra tenete sia il mignolo che l’anulare, potreste scoprire che essere obbligati a tenere l’anulare sul mouse sopra il tasto destro potrebbe non essere una bella esperienza a lungo termine.
Secondo me assurdo non supportare pi windows 7 quando ci si rivolge a un pubblico professionale, dato che si sa che in ambito lavorativo, avendo a che fare con software particolare e configurazioni complesse spesso il passaggio a una versione pi recente del sistema operativo non una scelta fattibile o ovvia, come pu esserlo per un normale utente consumer. Inoltre anche su windows 10, leggendo anche sul forum di 3D Connexion, non avere problemi non cosi scontato. Ho letto addirittura di gente che si imbarcata in formattazioni del sistema operativo dopo aver provato di tutto per far funzionare il software a dovere, e anche a me in effetti non funzionavano le personalizzazioni dei tasti.
Riguardo invece all’oggetto in se alla sua costruzione niente da dire, fattura assolutamente premium, ottimi materiali, ottimi pulsanti, click centrale (ancora presente sulla rotella oltre che su tasto dedicato) leggero, cavo molto bello in tessuto e molto morbido.

Ich verwende diese Maus als meine “mobile” Maus, die ich nur unterwegs nutze, am Arbeitsplatz kommt die “kabelgebundene” Variante zum Einsatz.
Grsser Vorteil ist, dass man sie direkt mit dem Rechner koppeln kann, also keinen zustzlichen Dongle braucht. Das Koppeln funktionierte einwandfrei und auf Anhieb.
Sie liegt bei mir gut in der Hand, allerdings ist sie fr kleine Frauenhnde (z.B. die von meiner Partnerin) zu klobig.
Verbindung funktioniert einwandfrei, liegt gut in der Hand. Lsst sich super einfach und sinnvoll konfigurieren. Ich will nicht mehr ohne.

Feel good in the hand, very responsive, heavy use and still barely need to charge it.
I use this CADMouse every day for work. The space mice that 3Dconnexion makes are “choppy” when I rotate some complex models around in Solidworks (I don’t notice this issue using any conventional mouse), nothing on the space mice though, probably just the software- I’m a bit of a gamer and video editor at home and I need my FPS count high, so I notice these things.
Back to the CADmouse, the dedicated middle mouse button clicks just like a left or right mouse button so it requires so much less pressure to press than the scroll wheel button. In fact, my finger started to hurt quite a bit pressing the mouse wheel so much and this CADMouse solved that problem. The mouse wheel on the CADMouse can still click but does not register that click on the PC, you might be able to change this in the software. The mouse wheel also does not “free spin”, if that makes sense. It does do a digital scroll depending on how fast you flick that wheel, though, which can also be changed in the software.
The shape of the CADMouse is girthy, in other words, it is a bit wider than other mice. I added a photo to try to show this, measuring tape for scale, CADMouse on the left. I personally like it this way, with girth, so I can palm it comfortably.
Battery life is probably over a week, I charge it once every week so it doesn’t drain on me. It can be plugged in full-time with the cable it came with so you don’t need to worry about the battery.
Overall, I plan to keep using this mouse for work as it is very comfortable.
After working 25 years working with CAD software and this is not precise but ergonomic too.

Excellent addition to my desk. Great quality in materials, size, and weight. The batteries last forever. I am a full time CAD and 3D modeling student so it is used all day throughout the week. I have had it about three months and only charged it once. The cable connection for the charger is very high quality, the programable buttons and software is very easy and very convenient as well. Great product. In fact, this purchase had inspired three more products from this company and I love everyone one of them. Highly recommend.
I really wanted an isolated middle button for Blender and other 3d apps, but I also wanted a quality mouse, so I thought I’d give this a try… despite the cost. I didn’t expect to love it so much. There’s just something about the feel in my hand… it’s so smooth, so silky. I just makes me want to use it. There’s something so eerily satisfying about it.
The only downside is that I use many different computers, and I am going to get spoiled… despite the cost, I just ordered 3 more. 🙂 At least one will be a Christmas gidt.
I bought this to use with my CAD software but this mouse is for so much more. It’s programmable buttons can be configured for different applications so the buttons do different things for Acrobat, Email, Word, Internet & so on. It is a great mouse & worth the money.

Auf dem ersten Blick erscheint der Preis hoch. Wenn man die Funktionen, die diese CAD Maus bietet, alle kennen gelernt hat, dann ist der Preis gerechtfertigt. Insbesondere ist das Zusammenspiel mit der 3D Maus zu erwhnen. Hier spart man Zeit und schont seine Gelenke.
I use this along with the Spacemouse Pro wireless, it’s a great combo with the similar options (like the radial shortcut menus) for my 3D drawing. The only thing I wish it had is a free spinning wheel option like my last mouse. But the space mouse pro wireless makes that less important as I now use that for zooming, etc

It is a great mouse, just that my everyday mouse is an apple magic mouse, and they both have very different sizes, and i’m still getting use to the new size, but other than that, excellent choice with great quality!!
Great mouse for CAD users. Connects via Bluetooth and included USB receiver. Switch on the bottom let’s you select the mode. Need to install the 3D Connexion Software that allows you to program buttons for each program you run. Pairs well with the portable space mouse. Include a travel case which is great for taking with you on trips. Fits comfortably in your hands and the full size keeps hand from getting tire after long use. I have been using this with Rhino 3D.
This is the mouse I’ve wanted to exist for years, and someone finally made it!
I had previously tried the non-pro wireless version and it was just too small for extended use for me. (I have giant hands, so ymmv on that.) This one does fit my hands nicely. A 5’2″ female coworker had no complaints about it being too big for her hands when she was using it at one point, though it may have been at the edge for her.
The mouse itself has a nice solid feel to it, with satisfyingly clicky (but not obnoxiously so) buttons, and a decent heft.
They are available in a left handed version as well, which is cool.
Battery life is great. I charged it overnight the first thing I got it, and have been using it upwards of 12 hours a day for the last two months and it is still going strong. Connecting via Bluetooth was simple and I haven’t had any issues with it dropping or lagging.
The middle mouse button separate from the scroll wheel is amazing. No accidental scroll-zooming when you’re trying to rotate! (You can still click the scroll wheel–by default both middle and wheel clicks behave identically, but they can be separately mapped in software.) The scroll wheel has a nice feel to it. Very subtle detents and the resolution of the steps are well calibrated. It doesn’t have the auto-clutch “Hyperscroll” wheel that I liked from the Logitech MX Master (my go-to mouse before these came out) but it replicates the fast scroll functionality in software with an inertial “flick.”
Nice big (teflon? UHMW?) pads on the bottom, and the optical sensor seems to be resistant to picking up crud. None of my dog’s super-fine fluff coat has made its way into the sensor yet, which has been an issue for me with other mice in the past. Tracks well on all sorts of surfaces, from mouse pads to lab benches to airline trays to the top of my leg (while wearing jeans).
The software under Windows 10 isn’t perfect, but generations ahead of every other mouse configuration software I’ve encountered. Better yet, no grey text on black windows and no gratuitous RGB LEDs to turn off! Default settings are pretty good, changing those defaults are painless, and they clearly have people who use the software providing input on the extensive built-in options. Literally hundreds of pre-made selections, intelligently organized, for SolidWorks alone. I haven’t looked in-depth at the options available for other CAD programs but if they’re anything like the SW offering you won’t be disappointed.
The travel case is a nice addition at this price point, and seems decently sturdy. It lives in my travel bag.
I have put several of the wired version of this mouse at various workstations at my job, but the wireless version has continued to improve on the already great experience.
The only very minor complaints I have: There isn’t a space inside the travel case for the USB receiver dongle or the charging cable, nor is there a slot in the mouse for the receiver–a particularly strange oversight for a device that seems to have gotten such meticulous attention to its design.
