The drone flys well in the house and it’s nice to have a camera link to your phone. The range for controlling it is fine, but the camera disconnects at a shorter distance as it relies on wifi.
The build quality feels a bit cheap, but this is what you get when trying to keep it light. It has bumpers on the edge of the propellers to stop them getting broken.
It’s great for portability as it takes up so little room to carry and take out for the day if you wish to do that
It was easy to set up and in terms of using it- if you’ve played video games you can use this. The controls feel similar. It comes with two batteries which is a big plus point.
All in all it’s decent for the price.

    Great for the price

I’ve got quite a lot of experience in flying a whole range of drones, from mini toy ones up to larger professional grade ones. This foldable drone from 4DRC appears to be at the entry level and is designed as a beginner’s non-toy drone. As such, despite being under the 249g weight limit for recreational drones, it does technically require an operator’s ID due to having a camera on it.

The drone comes in a hard case with all of its accessories inside, which is great for storing and transporting it. This includes a basic USB charging cable, which lights up red when the batteries are connected and fully charged. Each battery claims to do 16 minutes of flight, which is good for a basic drone.

There are no fancy extras like GPS, so flying this drone is very straight forward. Pop a battery in, switch on, connect the transmitter and launch it.

This flies relatively stably for a budget drone, however I’ve only tried it in the calm of an indoor room. Outdoors, you really do need to wait for a calm day as it’s unlikely that this can handle big gusts of wind.

Update: having flown outdoors, I’m actually more impressed tha I originally was. It flies well and handles small breezes. Don’t risk the flip button though, unless you’re high up in a big area as it shoots off after flipping. I suspect it’s the arms not locking that securely into place.

The drone is lightweight, but the plastic fees quite wobbly and insecure. It certainly doesn’t have the premium feel that it’s design suggests it would have. Although the controls are somewhat responsive, the propellers seem to act a little erratic until the drone is up to take-off speed. The transmitter is set out nicely, with all buttons in the best positions and clearly labelled. This makes it easy to learn with.

The transmission range is limited to quite a short distance, so don’t go flying this at a great height. I personally wouldn’t expect it to manage anywhere near the stated distances of 100 metres plus.

Overall, this is OK as a beginner’s drone that’s more than a toy, but the poor materials / build quality spoil it for me. It looks good, especially with the LED lighting, but is let down by the cheap, too-light feel about the plastic.

Good battery life, but questional build quality. Easy to control and flies well. .
