The saw itself is great, with one exception. The chain is constantly loose and needs tightening. This is the reason for the 4 stars.
This saw is just the right size for small projects. My wife has no problem using it also. Nice and light and easy to use.
Love this little chain saw! Perfect to keep in the RV and camping. Great value also.
Purchased this lightweight battery operated chainsaw for my bride…she loves trimming up branches, hedges, etc…perfect size for her! SHE LOVES IT!
This thing is really great! Easy quick pruning. Taking down smaller trees and any other fun things you can find to chop up.
This “mini” gives maximum results, it cuts without hesitation, the battery charge lasts a long time, it’s easy to clean and reassemble. I LOVE THIS TOOL, I’ve been walking around with it in my hand almost daily since I got it and the trimmings/burn pile is getting bigger every day!!!
I’ve seen hand held chain saws for a while and have always thought they might be handy to own, but I was just blown away with the performance of this little saw. Now I don’t expect it to do the job of a large chain saw, but for use on pruning and cutting down small bushes, shrubs and even some medium branches on tree, it’s been excellent.
My main reasons for choosing the Seesii Cordless Chainsaw are many. First it’s size. The six inch cutting bar allows this saw to be used on even medium branches, making it far more useful than the smaller four inch versions. Second, a big addition is that is actually has a chain oiler. This is a huge advantage and will prevent excessive wear of both the chain bar and the chain itself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this feature offered on any of the competitive units. Third, it has a spring loaded upper bar guard. This helps deflect chippings from the saw, but it’s main purpose is to provide some protection from the upper rotating chain. Many competitors do not include this. Fourth, it has a carrying case included. Most of the similar units do not offer this and it’s a very nice feature to include a case for keeping all of your accessories, such as battery charger, both batteries, spare chain, screwdriver for adjusting chain tension, as well as the saw itself all in a convenient easy to carry plastic case. You can take everything you need with you as you start your various jobs around the house and then use it to keep everything together when you aren’t using your saw. Great accessory!
After charging both batteries I decided to give it a try and was amazed at just how easy to use and how powerful it actually was. I started doing just a little general pruning on various trees and bushes and then advanced to the removal of two old Dwarf Alberto Spruce that had grown to over 6 feet tall. The saw quickly dispatched all of the branches on the first shrub as well as cutting the main trunk (about 4″) into three pieces. I then went on to do the same to the second shrub, all on the same batter charge, and it’s still running strong. I honestly didn’t expect this kind of performance on a single battery.
The saw has made jobs such as this so much easier than it would have been using either a hand saw or even a lopping blade. I can already tell that this will be one of my handiest tools to have around the house and garden. I generally refrain from product reviews, but in the case of this item, I decided it was worthy of the time and effort to give my quick review of my experiences with it.
We have an acre lot with lots of trees that have dropped large limbs. Also got a Solostove and use it to trim these limbs for it. We also use it for other trimming of low limbs and thick shrub limbs. Easily cuts through 6 inches. Fun to use! Read directions about oil and tightening chain.
I got this saw to prune apple trees and it easily cuts 4″ branches. It’s relatively light weight for one handed use. The thumb oiler is a nice touch and is missing on most of this type. A fitted case, a spare saw chain a adjustment screw driver and even a pair or work gloves makes the complete package. Not a toy so use with caution!
This little chainsaw is perfect for small jobs and SO convenient! My husband absolutely loves it! I would highly recommend it!
Because this will be used in the camping season we can’t make a lot comments however we did start it. In a nice carrying case. Appears appropriate for our needs.
This is a real nice mini chainsaw but I didn’t have a chance to use it because I found one almost identical $40 less which I ordered and sent this one back. All in all it’s a very nice saw but a little overpriced.
Pros/Cons:
1. Oil: You can see if the saw has oil but you can’t see how much (no gauge). Instructions suggest adding no more than 30 ml (6 tsp.). That’s fine for the first fill but not helpful for subsequent “topping off”. I guess you run it until it’s totally out and then fill. I never ran out during this project. It definitely is less messy to fill if you have a small bottle with a narrow tip and would have been nice if the mfgr. had provided one.
2. Batteries/charger: Both batteries charged up fine and I recharged one battery each day with no problem. It took about 1.5 hours to recharge. You need to remove the battery as soon as it’s charged up and not leave it in the charger. I worked about 2 hours each day, sawing and untangling branches, hauling the now-small bundles up to the trashcan, etc.so the saw was not in constant use during that time and I never ran out of power during usage.
3. Cutting: The saw had no problem cutting 1/2″-6″ branches. It worked reliably, consistently, and effectively. Tip: Begin your cut as close to the base of the saw blade as possible, rather than in the middle or tip, for stability and effectiveness. Surprisingly, I had difficulty with small offshoots < 1/2" because they are more flexible/green and the saw would jump around unless I used considerable downward pressure and held the offshoot as taut as possible. A chain saw of any size probably is overkill for such small branches but you know the old saying "When you get a new hammer, everything looks like a nail!" 4. Safety switch: Very safe and easy to engage if you are righthanded. Warning: if you are lefthanded, it is *too* easy to engage. A normal lefthanded grip on the saw engages the safety switch/button so remember to keep your finger away from the trigger when walking around with it. 5. Maintenance: The manual suggests cleaning the saw after every use to prolong the life of the saw. To clean, you have to remove the cover and chain/bar. I was blown away by how much oily sawdust, leaf parts, and general gunk was hidden away under there. I used a cloth first but really Q-tips and toothpicks seem necessary to remove dirt/debris. I have no idea how much gunk got into the motor itself since I didn't go that far to clean. 6. Chain tensioner: It is common among chain saws that the chain loosens a little when it's new and that applies to this saw as well. There is a *very* small screw (accessible without removing the cover) to adjust tension and the mfgr. supplies a screwdriver. Since the chain comes off every time you clean the saw, you have to loosen/tighten that screw each time. I think this would be a problem with frequent usage. I used the saw only a few times and that screw already shows signs of stripping...very soft metal. Summary: This saw works great and the only red flag for me was the softness of the tension adjustment screw.
I had a lot of trimming to get done around the house. This was perfect for what I needed. Easy to adjust, easy to hold and cuts nice. I like the two batteries, easy to switch.
Tried it out on a few branches works well but had no chain oil to fill the resovior. Gave it 4 stars because they could have included a small bottle of chain oil.
happy with the purchase, easy to use by one hand, perfect for cutting branches, also come with a nice case organizer, use wd-40 engine oil, it works well.
One of the battery doesn’t work, junk. If they don’t replace it I would like to return the saw
As long as one understands what this tool is and it’s purpose, it’s a worthwhile buy.
One tip: when filling the bar oil reservoir, as soon as you start to fill, it’s filled. Pretty low capacity so if you’re out and about, carry a quart of bar oil with you
