The saw itself is great, with one exception. The chain is constantly loose and needs tightening. This is the reason for the 4 stars.
This saw is just the right size for small projects. My wife has no problem using it also. Nice and light and easy to use.
Love this little chain saw! Perfect to keep in the RV and camping. Great value also.
Purchased this lightweight battery operated chainsaw for my bride…she loves trimming up branches, hedges, etc…perfect size for her! SHE LOVES IT!
This thing is really great! Easy quick pruning. Taking down smaller trees and any other fun things you can find to chop up.
This “mini” gives maximum results, it cuts without hesitation, the battery charge lasts a long time, it’s easy to clean and reassemble. I LOVE THIS TOOL, I’ve been walking around with it in my hand almost daily since I got it and the trimmings/burn pile is getting bigger every day!!!
I’ve seen hand held chain saws for a while and have always thought they might be handy to own, but I was just blown away with the performance of this little saw. Now I don’t expect it to do the job of a large chain saw, but for use on pruning and cutting down small bushes, shrubs and even some medium branches on tree, it’s been excellent.
My main reasons for choosing the Seesii Cordless Chainsaw are many. First it’s size. The six inch cutting bar allows this saw to be used on even medium branches, making it far more useful than the smaller four inch versions. Second, a big addition is that is actually has a chain oiler. This is a huge advantage and will prevent excessive wear of both the chain bar and the chain itself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this feature offered on any of the competitive units. Third, it has a spring loaded upper bar guard. This helps deflect chippings from the saw, but it’s main purpose is to provide some protection from the upper rotating chain. Many competitors do not include this. Fourth, it has a carrying case included. Most of the similar units do not offer this and it’s a very nice feature to include a case for keeping all of your accessories, such as battery charger, both batteries, spare chain, screwdriver for adjusting chain tension, as well as the saw itself all in a convenient easy to carry plastic case. You can take everything you need with you as you start your various jobs around the house and then use it to keep everything together when you aren’t using your saw. Great accessory!
After charging both batteries I decided to give it a try and was amazed at just how easy to use and how powerful it actually was. I started doing just a little general pruning on various trees and bushes and then advanced to the removal of two old Dwarf Alberto Spruce that had grown to over 6 feet tall. The saw quickly dispatched all of the branches on the first shrub as well as cutting the main trunk (about 4″) into three pieces. I then went on to do the same to the second shrub, all on the same batter charge, and it’s still running strong. I honestly didn’t expect this kind of performance on a single battery.
The saw has made jobs such as this so much easier than it would have been using either a hand saw or even a lopping blade. I can already tell that this will be one of my handiest tools to have around the house and garden. I generally refrain from product reviews, but in the case of this item, I decided it was worthy of the time and effort to give my quick review of my experiences with it.
We have an acre lot with lots of trees that have dropped large limbs. Also got a Solostove and use it to trim these limbs for it. We also use it for other trimming of low limbs and thick shrub limbs. Easily cuts through 6 inches. Fun to use! Read directions about oil and tightening chain.
I got this saw to prune apple trees and it easily cuts 4″ branches. It’s relatively light weight for one handed use. The thumb oiler is a nice touch and is missing on most of this type. A fitted case, a spare saw chain a adjustment screw driver and even a pair or work gloves makes the complete package. Not a toy so use with caution!
This little chainsaw is perfect for small jobs and SO convenient! My husband absolutely loves it! I would highly recommend it!
I am a 81 yo woman in process of pruning 16 Crepe Myrtles. After last yr I decided a 14 in chainsaw was a little heavy for an old gal with 4 hip replacements to reach over my head so I bought 6-inch Mini Seesii Cordless Chainsaw. Rain & bad weather prevented February pruning. Love my Mimi Chainsaw.
Received the saw yesterday. Charged the batteries overnight and went out this morning cutting. I put too much oil in the tank and had to clean up a mess before work began. Not sure how much oil the tank holds perhaps I should have read the instructions, GO FIGURE ! But the SAW is GREAT. I cut a total of 15 or so branches from small trees(3-4″) then some bigger ones up to 6″ or so. The saw stopped once on a bigger branch but a little maneuvering got it loose easily and it finished the cut. The battery lasted the full time didn’t need to switch to the second battery. Needed about 10 minutes to clean up the saw and put it back in the case. So if you are looking for a chain saw for light work around the house THIS IS IT !
Because this will be used in the camping season we can’t make a lot comments however we did start it. In a nice carrying case. Appears appropriate for our needs.
This is a real nice mini chainsaw but I didn’t have a chance to use it because I found one almost identical $40 less which I ordered and sent this one back. All in all it’s a very nice saw but a little overpriced.
What I disliked was that after receiving my mini cordless chainsaw I found that one of the batteries had a manufacture’s defect and as such, was unable to be charged. Per written instructions, I contacted the manufacturer via customer service email for close to 2wks to no avail. Apprehensively, only because I knew I would be dealing with an A.I., I decided to contact Amazon concerning the issue. To my complete and utter amazement, with one contact and in less than 20 minutes a completely new mini chainsaw kit was authorized and on its way to me. Now in my book…that’s tremendously great CUSTOMER SERVICE with all capital letters…and I really, really like that.
I was skeptical about this little thing, even after watching the little videos. But I put it to the test with some bushes/trees next to my house. I used my full size chainsaw to cut some of the larger branches. The largest branches were about 5″ thick. I saved a few to try this thing because they said it would work on branches 6″ thick. I struggled with the large chainsaw , but this thing went through the branches like butter. I am totally impressed by this thing! Great Product!
The SeeSii 6″ mini-chain saw was perfect for me. I never needed nor used a chain saw until after a recent storm when the electric company dragged neighbors’ downed tree limbs into my yard to make way for their huge equipment. The limbs were about 8″ at the base. I bought this saw to chop the branches/offshoots into pieces small enough for my trash container. This took about 8 hours (spread out over 4 days). I don’t know about the longevity of the saw, batteries, or charger but all worked effectively and reliably for me on this job.
Pros/Cons:
1. Oil: You can see if the saw has oil but you can’t see how much (no gauge). Instructions suggest adding no more than 30 ml (6 tsp.). That’s fine for the first fill but not helpful for subsequent “topping off”. I guess you run it until it’s totally out and then fill. I never ran out during this project. It definitely is less messy to fill if you have a small bottle with a narrow tip and would have been nice if the mfgr. had provided one.
2. Batteries/charger: Both batteries charged up fine and I recharged one battery each day with no problem. It took about 1.5 hours to recharge. You need to remove the battery as soon as it’s charged up and not leave it in the charger. I worked about 2 hours each day, sawing and untangling branches, hauling the now-small bundles up to the trashcan, etc.so the saw was not in constant use during that time and I never ran out of power during usage.
3. Cutting: The saw had no problem cutting 1/2″-6″ branches. It worked reliably, consistently, and effectively. Tip: Begin your cut as close to the base of the saw blade as possible, rather than in the middle or tip, for stability and effectiveness. Surprisingly, I had difficulty with small offshoots < 1/2" because they are more flexible/green and the saw would jump around unless I used considerable downward pressure and held the offshoot as taut as possible. A chain saw of any size probably is overkill for such small branches but you know the old saying "When you get a new hammer, everything looks like a nail!" 4. Safety switch: Very safe and easy to engage if you are righthanded. Warning: if you are lefthanded, it is *too* easy to engage. A normal lefthanded grip on the saw engages the safety switch/button so remember to keep your finger away from the trigger when walking around with it. 5. Maintenance: The manual suggests cleaning the saw after every use to prolong the life of the saw. To clean, you have to remove the cover and chain/bar. I was blown away by how much oily sawdust, leaf parts, and general gunk was hidden away under there. I used a cloth first but really Q-tips and toothpicks seem necessary to remove dirt/debris. I have no idea how much gunk got into the motor itself since I didn't go that far to clean. 6. Chain tensioner: It is common among chain saws that the chain loosens a little when it's new and that applies to this saw as well. There is a *very* small screw (accessible without removing the cover) to adjust tension and the mfgr. supplies a screwdriver. Since the chain comes off every time you clean the saw, you have to loosen/tighten that screw each time. I think this would be a problem with frequent usage. I used the saw only a few times and that screw already shows signs of stripping...very soft metal. Summary: This saw works great and the only red flag for me was the softness of the tension adjustment screw.
I had a lot of trimming to get done around the house. This was perfect for what I needed. Easy to adjust, easy to hold and cuts nice. I like the two batteries, easy to switch.
Tried it out on a few branches works well but had no chain oil to fill the resovior. Gave it 4 stars because they could have included a small bottle of chain oil.
happy with the purchase, easy to use by one hand, perfect for cutting branches, also come with a nice case organizer, use wd-40 engine oil, it works well.
I have 2 of these units, (daughter & me). They cut well, This product would rate a 5 star except for that one of the units had a problem and it was a challenge for me to learn how to contact customer service. I learned you can reach them by email to [email protected]. If you reach Lucy, there is no better customer service person than her. I compared the SeeSii to all of the other handheld units, and what I like best is that the saw also contains a chain shield, an oiler, and a wonderful carry/storage case. The oiler is fantastic, just do not fill all the way up so that the oil flows well. I’ve had great success now with both units in cutting everything I’ve used it on. It’s fantastic for tree pruning and cutting some rather large diameter limbs. Of all the handheld saws I reviewed, this one seems the best. The batteries have been great and I’ve recommended this to about 20 of my friends.
The bushes I had to cut down were not huge and there were no branches bigger than 4 inches in diameter. The saw was easy to use and the directions were very simple to follow. After adding oil to the oil chamber receptor I was ready to roll. The saw worked great the batteries charged relatively fast and things were looking great. After the first bush was down I waited a couple days to get the the next bush. I thought this one would be cut down with the same ease as the first bush, but the saw would not stay running and smelled like is was burning. Once I called Amazon and reported the issue, they took care of the problem immediately. The saw was great when it was running. Hopefully, the next saw will not have any issues.
One of the battery doesn’t work, junk. If they don’t replace it I would like to return the saw
Does OK for what it’s designed to do. Works best on branches 1 to 3 inches in diameter (at least for me). Since I have to trim the tree branches every year before the mowing season, this will be a handy tool. I haven’t used it for this yet. but it should be good to delimb a larger limb (say, 4-8″ across) too.
As long as one understands what this tool is and it’s purpose, it’s a worthwhile buy.
One tip: when filling the bar oil reservoir, as soon as you start to fill, it’s filled. Pretty low capacity so if you’re out and about, carry a quart of bar oil with you
seems like a sturdy unit, but it calls for oil without noting type, I assume that chainsaw oil is what they use, but since it is such a small container, maybe a lighter oil is required but it does not say
This is a first use review. I used this tool to cut down a small hedge tree that was growing over our fence. Hedge wood (Osage orange) is very dense and hard. I have had difficulty cutting this wood with a large gas chainsaw. This little saw cut through a 4 inch limb easily. Because part of the tree was hard to reach, it was nice to have a lightweight chainsaw to reach. I’ll provide an update if any issues arise.
I’ve been borrowing my dad’s bulky chainsaw that needs to be plugged. Therefore, it has been a pain dragging a long electrical cord across my property that has a creek running through it. Tree trimming has been a huge chore with a full-sized chainsaw. Not anymore. I love this battery-operated little beast. It did an excellent job today as I effortlessly cut through a 4″ tree; quick & clean. Before ordering I was suspicious about the power and ability of such a small, battery operated saw. This SeeSii mini chainsaw is powerful, light weight, relatively quiet, and most importantly safe & easy to use. I especially appreciate the safety button and splash guard design that prevents chips from flying into my face while trimming and cutting. It came with an installed chain plus 1 spare, a 21volt/ 2000mAh lithium battery with fast charger, yardwork gloves, and tools (nutdriver & screwdriver) -all housed in a protective case. I am really happy with the performance of this well-built machine, and I’ve used the saw for over an hour and it’s still going strong. Big recommendation here!
