This controller is by far the best I’ve used for the Switch.
Main pro – feels great and snug in your hands
It’s ultimate use I’d say is for 2d games due to the way it fits in your hands but the analogues feel great nonetheless.
I was going to get the switch pro controller until I heard it can have drift so decided not to get it. This is a brilliant controller.

I purchased this controller to play Minecraft Java Version on my Mac. However I didn’t realise how long I was going to have to spend downloading various mod’s by Forge to get this working. Now that it works, I’m a happy player, but it was a really trial. I also wanted to play Deus Ex: Human Revolution on steam, but the game didn’t work well with the controller and the character kept jumping in the game, even after endless custom controller set-ups on Steam. Overall its a great controller and it works well with a Nintendo Switch for multi-player on Mario Kart, but it depends on what you want to play, game wise if you’re a Mac user.
What an amazing controller, its so comfortable in the hand and feels like quality.
No issues what so ever connecting this controller to either blue tooth (Amazon fire cube/stick) or using 2.4ghz wireless with the dongle (sold separately), it just works.
I bought this controller for multiple platform use on a PC, Android phone and Nintendo Switch.
It feels very solid in the hand, is a good size and the whole thing feels good. Even the seams are smooth to the touch.
Using it in an Android snes emulator pulling off street fighter combos are easy and the dpad is precise. The playstation style joysticks are also quite precise and do their job perfectly.

Seems o work on Linux in “X mode” on the controller settings switch, paired up fine with Bluetooth. Not sure about the other modes.
Have a couple of other 8BitDo devices which I’m satisfied with and bought this one. On the whole its a good controller and is comfortable to use but after a few months of use the B button has become spongy and frequently gets stuck. Have read other reviews about poor quality control at 8BitDo and it appears these have not been eliminated with the newer devices. A shame because the controller itself is pretty good.
I’ve had far to many controllers and other electronics become useless due to dead non replaceable batteries so the ability to replace the actually very good rechargeable one included with AA’s when that time comes is amazing, beyond that, as a Playstation / PC / Emulation gamer, this controller is perfect for me in design and customisability. Keep making stuff like this and I’ll continue to be a customer.
My only concern, which I admit is based on some previous reviews, is the ‘update firmware’ request on the app before I can assign or change buttons/functions. I am reluctant to do the update as apparently it caused some major issues with others, meaning I’m very reluctant to use the app, which is unfortunate.
But other than that I’m well pleased with the controller so far.
I’d seen these get brilliant reviews for a long time.
Eventually it was time for me to upgrade from my own controller.
These feel great in-hand. The buttons are brilliant. It’s connected to everything I’ve wanted seamlessly.

To keep it moderately short; given the price, this is an excellent controller. It feels great to use and is really high quality. I have been using it for the past 3 days and it outperforms my other controllers. Works seamlessly on my PC and you can customize the stick dead zones with the software, along side with mapping different buttons and adjusting the analogue trigger sensitivity. The buttons feel nice and responsive and I love how the controller uses a USB-C charging interface. You can either use it wireless through Bluetooth, or hard wired through the USB-C. I have some third party thumb grips on the sticks which make it perfect for my taste. 100% recommend!
Very comfy in my hands. The overall feel and layout are similar to the dualshock 4, but with broader triggers, a vasty better D-pad and extremely satisfying shoulder buttons. My controller of choice for anything on PC or Switch, having gyro and reprogrammable back buttons are a bonus. Only bit not perfect are start/select being mushy rubber buttons.

Absolut genialer Controller fr Retro Fans. Spiele mit dem Controller Super Nintendo und Gameboy Spiele auf dem Handy und dafr ist er Perfekt. Er fhlt sich sehr wertig an, das Steuerkreuz und die Tasten sind super. Mit dem. Handy verbinden ist absolut unkompliziert.
It’s a good versatile controller, but the joysticks are low quality. They spring back cheaply and have low sensitivity/high deadzone.
The plastic can be slippery too.
Otherwise it’s great.
It generally works perfectly. My biggest gripe with it is that the grips feel a bit too small for me.
I had a very hard time finding a controller that would work for a few of the games I could play on my MacBook. Works great on my PC as well, the button mapping is great. Price point is awesome for what you get! Would definitely and probably will purchase another one at some point!
Switch compatible, Xinput (Read: Games that require an Xbox controller), Dinput (Legacy games and some other systems), and more. This controller is well worth the price even without the paddles and turbo control. Those are such a great bonus.
Works perfectly. Seamless with PC or Android. Software isn’t needed but is really good anyway. Haven’t had an opportunity to use the gyroscope, can’t seem to get it working with Steam, but I believe the problem is with Steam and not the controller, plus very few controllers offer a gyro and very few PC games seem to be compatible with the idea, but for anyone with a switch it would be good. Other than that it works natively with OC with absolutely no fiddling about or driver issues, just pick up and play. Handset is really solid, absolute pleasure to hold. Looks great. Have been disappointed several times in the past with controllers I bought on amazon, did a lot of reading and comparing before I bought, and I’m glad I went with this. Even the packaging felt superb. Totally recommend.
No need to buy a controller for your phone, iPad, switch, PC. This will cover them all.
Everything works like a dream. Tested on Android emulators, Windows games, and Switch. Love it on all fronts. I will be ordering another!
Got this to play Xbox console streaming and cloud games on my iPad and was surprised at just how good it is. Connection was quick and easy (once I’d flipped the switch to the correct mode) and it just works. Recommended!
I had ordered one of these for a mini emulation pc I’ve built. 8bitdo have always been around the scene so thought I’d give one a go as they are cheaper than I thought and I’ve only ever heard good things. Bloody amazing. The only draw back is a slightly slick feel to the controllers grip but then that’s more a personal preference. Looks good. Feels good. Long battery life. I actually prefer this to my ps4 controllers.
Superb battery and no lag in any game wired or Bluetooth
The controller is perfect, confortable and is stable thought bluetooth. I enjoy it on my android phone and on my computer.
I have played with PS Dualshock, Dualsense, Xbox controller, Switch Pro controller and none of those are even close to this one.
Of course, this one is missing the Dualsense active triggers or lights but it has better compatibility and no input lag at all.

I bought this controller over the switxh pro controller to be able to have one controller for everything and it works as intended and it works pretty well, i really recommend this controlle
So when I first got this controller I was surprised to find out it had analog triggers! Nice touch. The 8bitdo ultimate software on my phone connected to the controller no prob, told me there was an update, and I clicked ok. Well not sure if it froze or what happened, the red light on the controller started flashing, and the progress bar on the app never moved. I tried several times, and now the controller wouldn’t connect to anything. I filed for a return but also did some searching for a fix. 8bitdo also has a program called ‘upgrade tool’ for PC. So I installed that on the computer and hooked the controller up to USB. It recognized it and I just had to select the type of controller it was and bam, it was upgraded and now fully works!
Imho this a great product. It has good build quality, it supports both mobile and desktop platforms. It has good software-support both for setting up the device aswell as updating the firmware.

Das Design ist einfach top , richtig retro aber mit einem richtig modernen Tuch.
Das mit der Software zum runterladen ist so ne Sache… Es gibt zwei hnliche Controller die zwei separate Download Links haben. Ich habe als erstes die falsche runter geladen und es hat nicht geklappt. Bis ich bemerkt habe dass beim Download Link der falsche Controller war. Sieht genauso aus nur steht bei der Bezeichnung pro beim falschen.
Runtergeladen und alle Einstellungen Laufen problemlos.
Es macht Spa mit dem Controller zu spielen,liegt super in der Hand und reagiert super. Ich spiele jetzt ohne Probleme mit Schild TV,ps4,stadia und PC alles klappt
Positiv ist der Akku. Man kann ihn rausnehmen und auch mit normalen Batterien Betrieben da sollte sich Sony zb. Was davon abschneiden.

Je voulais depuis quelques temps cette manette. Je suis adepte des manettes xbox normalement mais l cest une merveille cette manette. Je ne regrette pas mon achat. La sensation des boutons c’est un pure bonheur. Jouer sur pc avec cette manette aux jeux recents et surtout aux jeux retro c’est juste magnifique. Les sensations sont exceptionnels. On peut la mettre a jour et aussi faire des rglages dessus. Juste un mot parfaite.
