Booklet takes a long time to read. Only had it a couple of weeks, but so far, it performs well. I am impressed that staff ( Emily) take the iniative to phone to ask whether we are satisfied and whether we need any further help.

Bought this for my father who is elderly. Comfortable to wear and no charging is a big advantage. Use of broadband is also great with no sim requirement. Band is difficult to put on with one hand or limited dexterity however there is no need to take it off. Easy to set up and friendly helpful tech support available by phone. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my 86 year old mum who has had a few falls due to Parkinson’s Disease. It was easy to set up online, and she just wears the wristband all the time. If there are any issues, all she has to do is press the two buttons either side of the watch to initiate the call response alert. This saves on false alarms as it is a deliberate two button press rather than one, which could raise false alarms. Customer service is also excellent. I received a call from Emily Beechey from acticheck who went through all the set-up options, a few of which I’d still to do. This was done quickly and efficiently and her help was most reassuring. Overall very pleased with the service.

It was a pleasant surprise that all features included in the description posted by Amazon were supported by the product delivered. The installation of the base station, configuration of the responders, checking the band functionality took around 30 to 45 minutes, and everything worked.

The only thing that was not available initially was the advanced configuration menu for Fault detection. This gave me the opportunity to interact with the support department of the supplier. Again, a very pleasant surprise was the prompt answer. In less than 1 hour the support person has activated this advanced menu for me so I could properly configure the advanced features.

In conclusion, very good product, meets the expectations, value for money!

Brought this for my mother who lives on her own but is getting less stable on her feet and had a recent tumble in the garden. She is amazingly independent at 92 and she doesn’t want this to change. The GPS system can’t be activated at the moment as she doesn’t own a smart phone, but I hope if she did fall when out and about someone would come to her aid. It was her falling at home, or in the garden and not being able to get up that was her main concern. I haven’t activated the ‘are you OK’ checks at the moment as she was a bit overwhelmed with the initial instructions of two buttons to call me )ie the SOS call), one button to cancel and potential false alarms. She missed the vibration, or just wasn’t reacting quick enough during the test calls we did together, but got it after a few try’s. I really don’t think even with a false alarm she would get to the phone in time, when it calls to see if she wants to cancel it, but it’s good that you can practise and even do a quick test to ensure it is working. So we are taking things slowly, and it’s nice that there is the option to activate the ‘are you OK’ for future. She hadn’t declined to wear it, which I did wonder may be a battle! She has worn it permanently since we got it, she seems to just forget its there now so it must be very comfortable, and not rubbing. I will start to check her skin when I visit to ensure it isn’t getting damp underneath. My mum isn’t able to put the wristband on herself, not to the extent of how snug it needs to be, although this could be a bonus as if she was able to remove it, I think she would forget to put it back on! We are just starting out with this alarm system, but my mum seems to be happy with it and likes that no-one else is involved but that it is me who would be alerted through a computer and can go round to check on her should she sound the alarm. This covers all of the potential concerns, as the alarm should go off by itself should she fall, she doesn’t need to keep her mobile phone on her (and she struggles to remember how to work the phone as she rarely uses it, preferring the landline). I can also check on the recorded band activity (movement) via my mobile, which is a reassuring bonus.

Really happy with this product. It has helped ease worry regarding falls and been left alone at home. The aftersales service was also excellent.

Easy to set up and by wearing on the wrist is non obtrusive. Purchased from Acticheck in May 2021 and has been no problem apart from the puc falling out of the wristband occasionally.
Likes – Easy and Useful online interface, which gives me peace of mind knowing I can connect to it from anywhere, although being telephone connected instead of broadband can be very slow to log onto service. When it does activate it provides the responder with useful details about the wearer such as location and any medical issues stored.
Dislikes – My mum complains that the plastic wristband becomes itchy in warmer weather, which encourages her to put a tissue between the wristband and her skin, rendering it useless.

Nice Idea! Gives Peace of Mind that my mum is being monitored

Wouldn’t be without one had it for 5years….so reassuring for both mother and daughter.
Increased feeling of freedom for the user as she knows if anything happens there is a safety net and someone will be round to help!!!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was concerned about the setup but found the base unit and band easy to setup using my laptop. not sure how it would work using a mobile phone.
No WIFI network codes needed, found and connected to the router within 20 seconds. Dashboard clear and adding responders again not difficult.
picked up the signal way back in mother-in-law’s garden which was of our concerns.
only used the system 3 days but I am impressed, logic based, monitoring data seem precise.
unavoidable downsides; the 2 buttons needing to be depressed is not easy for users with limited use of their fingers as with arteritis. I found the rubber band not that comfortable and made my arm sweaty. Not have time to test the fall arrest. can recommend with my limited experience so far. one other point is the cheap option to connect to the acticheck call centre which is a lot cheaper then some of the competitors

This is a great piece of kit and a great service too.. Bought this for my father in law to be able to alert us if he had a fall . But this is much more . I get a daily email telling me that he is up and moving. He confirms he is ok by pressing a confirmation button on his wrist and. I can see him moving about on a movement graph at anytime without having to bother him. It’s a great product to reassure us that he is ok with out having to ring him or out cameras in his house.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy mother finally conceded to getting one of these. It’s such a weight off our mind. It has so many other functions on it that were unexpected and set it apart from other alarms. If you sit for too long it will ask if your OK. If it is jolted it thinks you have fallen and so again ask you to confirm your OK. It has the facility to make sure that the person isn’t too cold stopping hyperthermia. The range of the product is great as it covers the front and back garden in my mother’s house. I’m incredibly satisfied with this produc

Literally is a life saving device. My nan has used this for real to call for help a couple of times. Doesn’t bare thinking about what would have happened if I hadn’t got this. She’s had it for a few months now as is comfortable wearing it all the time.

My mum lives by herself and this gives us some peace of mind. We followed the instructions and setting it up was straightforward. I don’t get the full dashboard on the phone app but I get an email every morning to say all is OK. Fortunately, my mum hasn’t had a fall since buying this so can’t say how good the alarm system is but so far so good.

The acticheck has good instructions but it takes about 1hour to set up. The device is about the size of a very thick watch. Once set up there is a lot of information that you can get from the unit and a daily email is sent to you that tells you the wearer is up and about. If the battery truly last a year and the cost of replacement isn’t more than 80 which is the approx price of a new band then the acticheck is a fantastic device. Well worth the initial cost. I haven’t used the app information can be found on the website.

Very versatile. So long as there is a router at the premises it will work. My mother stays in 2 different houses there is a router in both houses so she just brings the receiving box with here and it works. More versatile than a fixed system. the battery also lasts for a year and you can monitor the whole system on line.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI rarely write reviews but felt this deserved one. Not the cheapest but (probably) the best out there & British design and manufactured :-). Really easy to set up, had very little push back from my mum (surprised as she had resisted other attempts to get her an alarm). Because it’s wrist worn she never takes it off (neck worn means the user can get up in the middle of the night for the loo, not put it on and then fall!!). Load of great features, the best is that I get a daily email to tell me mum us wearing it and is active (moving around). You have to buy a new “capsule” each year as the batter is sealed in but I regard this as buying peace of mind. Would strngly recommend to anyone with a vulnerable relative.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGot this for my Dad after my Mum died because I was worried about him living by himself even though we’re only just up the road. It was so easy to set up. The instructions were written in plain English and really easy to understand. My Dad (77), who only just got his own email address (!) said “even he” could have set it up by himself!

It’s great peace of mind for me, as I can check on him using the dashboard and I know he can trigger an alert if he falls or needs help and can’t get to the phone. I also like the fact that there are additional features that he doesn’t feel he needs at the moment but can be toggled on and off and the fall detection sensitivity adjusted for use in the future if he needs them. Makes it great value for money because it saves buying a different product if his needs change.

He has noticed a slight rash on the wrist he was wearing it after a few days, which may be genetic, as I also developed a sensitivity to my silicon Fitbit strap, but he’s solved this for now by regularly swapping the wrist on which he wears i

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersOrdered this for my mother, and unfortunately Amazon lost track of the package. Acticheck got right on it and sent out a replacement immediately, even though it wasn’t their fault. Mum got it set up with the help of neighbors, and Acticheck messaged us on Amazon to say it was all registered and working on their system. Very impressive support. Should also mention that we are in the USA and mum is in the UK, and Acticheck will allow you to enter international phone numbers. It works perfectly. I did a lot of research before ordering this, and I am pretty sure it is the best one you can get.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersPurchased by my father following a fall and hospital admission . My husband who is a retired soft ware engineer set the device up , but I think I could have done it if I had needed to with the excellent support from the manufacturer .
Has provided reassurance to me and the fit bit like wrist device is much more acceptable to my father than something worn round the neck . I highly recommend this item .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA lot of thought has gone into the design of this clever device. Easy to set up (helpline if required). Useful functions (SOS alert simple to operate, customisable fall monitor, plus other options). The wristband is comfortable, discreet and modern-looking (reminiscent of a fitbit). Impressed with it so far.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersRelieved. Dad wasn’t wearing his pendant when he had a fall in the garden, apparently he only wore it for us! He likes the wristband because he says it looks ‘normal’, he is happy to wear it all the time and has actually said he likes getting the no-response checks. It arrived the next day and was easy to set up.

We have now had this for nine months and Dad and I both feel it is worth the fifth star, as we both have so much piece of mind now he wears his Acticheck.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI like the fact that once the band is on my wrist it stays there. There is no danger of me forgetting to put it on as there is with other alarm systems. It gives added security knowing that help will be to hand should I need it.

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersI did a lot of research for the right product for my Mother-In-Law. She moved in with us a couple of years ago and had a fall whilst in her bedroom downstairs at 4am last Easter. We wanted something that gave her the ability to alert us if she became unwell without having to try and get our attention by shouting up the stairs (which is not easy for someone in their 80s with breathing difficulties!)

This product was, by far, the best we’d found:
    1. No pendant to wear (she didn’t want a pendant as it made her feel old!!)
    2. Dials us rather than a monitoring centre (although you can now have that feature if you want it)
    3. Really easy to configure via an online portal, setting up all the call recipients details etc.
    4. Quickly re-order which family members get called first when you go on holiday (excellent feature)
    There’s loads more…

Finally, having had the system for a year we recently got a reminder to renew the service and receive the new puck for the writband (the little gadget that holds the battery and links to the base unit). We renewed it online, got the new puck the next day with really simple instructions on linking the new puck as well as postage-paid label to return the old one for recycling. Couldn’t have been much easier!

I’d like to make it very clear (as I’ve fallen foul of dodgy reviews myself before) I’m not linked in any way to the manufacturer I’m just a VERY satisfied customer who feels very reassured that my mother-in-law has the ability to alert us any time she’s in trouble!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersOur family is finding the Acticheck enormously helpful. I looked at a lot of different options for my mother, and this was the clear winner – it goes above and beyond the functionality of the other offerings. For example, a lot of the alert pendants have fall detection, but this has different sensitivity settings to allow for wear by people who are still very active. With the cellular connection option, it works outside the house (and even on the broadband option, the range is good). There’s scope to add on a fallback monitoring service (run by a local council that subcontracts its services to Acticheck) so that emergency services can be called if family aren’t available – good value for an extra 2.50 a month. The activity tracking dashboard makes it easier for us to see whether she’s getting good quality sleep, and to check in on pain management. Finally, it looks like a fitbit – it doesn’t scream “I’m elderly”. My mother is always pleased when she’s asked whether she has an emergency pendant and can show them something much sleeker and more modern.

Side note: I read the founder’s story on the website and saw he developed the product together with his mother, having failed to find what they wanted when they were looking for an alert band for her. To my mind, it really shows that it’s been designed by real users. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThe Assure has quite literally been a life saver for my wife. We aren’t the core demographic being in our 40s, but my wife does have some medical problems which mean that she does have a greater probability of a fall. Being able to alert me for help without having to reach her phone has changed her life – and mine too. My work requires me to travel a little bit – and now I know that if there is a problem I will be called – and I can check in on the web interface to see how she is. It’s ‘light touch’ enough not to be intrusive, but comprehensive enough to give me comfort.

Full disclosure: I bought it directly, before it was available on Amazon.
