My wife suffers from various allergies and this machine has been a godsend to her. It is very well made and functions perfectly. Worth every penny do not hesitate to buy !
Very easy to live with; looks good. Does respond to indoor pollution but not sure it is picking upon outdoor traffic pollution which I know from other detectors/devices is in our home but this machine doesn’t seem to detect it.
So, not perfect but better than three others we have tried over the years. Not a HEPA device. Bear that in mind.
Have been using this for two weeks. Very happy with the purchase – the device is well designed, easy to move, and is doing its job effectively.
I have suffered from a long history of lung infections which were caused by years of exposure to mold in a flat in the UK. We have a lot of condensation in the UK. Thankfully not as many of our neighboring countries or worse in Ireland (for which this product would be EVEN better).
This is probably one of the most important items you can own today. It looks like it is not much more than a glorified bin…. HOWEVER what is inside is air purification technology from the Netherlands to a very high standard. They take a bit more pride in Germany and Netherlands when they produce items and they do not go cheap.
The purifier has two modes principally. Auto (it detects air quality and displays a light around the edge on the top and based on how good the qir quality is, gets greener) and manual. The manual mode lets you slide the arc light around and increase the strength of output.
This actually does a decent job of keeping a room cooler too in summer and does condition the air somewhat.
It is quite light and the set up is mega easy.
This is one of those devices that you look at the price and think “Hmmmm??” but when it comes to your own health and air quality and lung health, then this is more than worth the price for keeping you healthier. The noise increases as you adjust the output.
I have been using my old purifier for 2 years now and I thought that all the purifiers work same. I got this purifier and my whole perception of purifiers changed forever. First of all this purifier is just the best in terms of quality. This purifier is big enough for a large size room. And it can be operated with any smart phone. The purifier is not noisy at all even if you run it on high speed. It’s a one time investment and worth every money spent! I genuinely feel that the surrounding is much much cleaner around me after I have started using this purifier!
Beautifully crafted air purifier that purifies the air effortlessly.
I have one that’s a couple hundred more and its a lot louder. This one works just as well as that one and it’s quieter, smaller but works just as good.
The app is helpful to show you what the air is like and you can set it to smart so it does all the work for you, intensifies when it traces something in the air it needs to get rid of then will go back down to super quiet.
This has helped a lot with my partners hay-fever, it’s definitely a good buy if you suffer from allergies.
This is a seriously impressive air purifier from AEG. As soon as I turned it on, I noticed a difference in the air quality. It has a really unique neutral design that should make it easy to fit in. As you can see, I think it looks pretty good in our living room. Just so you know, replacement filters are pretty expensive but the good news is they last pretty long. They’re really easy to replace thanks to compartment door design. As well as the controls on the unit you can use the app to configure all the settings.
Works well in our small Studio flat. Due to the size of the room, it always gets a little bit smelly and humid after each night due to the sweet and the
odour from out dog was also a problem. With this Air purifier we have reduced the odour and mould problem.
Arrived in a Big box, I was shocked a bit for a second when I’ve seen it first as it looks a lot bigger in real then on the picture. It’s 56.6 cm tall and with 31.5″ diameter. The setup is really simple just need to plug into the socket and turn it on. I like the design, it’s minimalistic, simple but stylish suits well in my modern style house. I love that the air enters in the unit from all sides (360 air intake) through the small holes first than goes through the active carbon filter and enters in the unit. Then the clean air moved upwards by a fan and pushed out of the top of the unit. Because its small it has a great energy efficiency (28W), portable and lightweight. To get out the most of this air filter it’s needs to be connected to an app AEG Wellbeing App.
Overall, I’m happy with this modern air purifier and highly recommend for small flats or large rooms, especially if you smoke, have asthma, allergies, pets or for any other reason.
his is the model AX9 air purifier from AEG brand, this is the first time i used AEG product, i did a little study on this brand and found it’s a german company that produces a wide range of home appliances, it got very good reputation, every product it designed look stylish and this ax9 model even won the red dot design award!
this first impression of this air purifier was also it’s beautiful and elegant design, unlike traditional air purifier with plastic housing, AX9’s housing is mainly made of fabric and metal, also there are leather handles, very easy to move around
on the top there is a very simple touch control panel, there are only on/off button, mode button (smart and manual) and speed control, very easy to use
the fan is extremely quiet, i didn’t feel it’s turned on even i was just sitting next to it, but the fan at its maximum speed is very powerful and loud, sound like an industrial extractor fan! anyway, most of it’s working time is super silence, never distracted by it
besides the basic control from the top panel, i can connect to this purifier with mobile phone, there is a “aeg wellbeing” app to further control the air purifier, there is more detailed information (and history) about the indoor air condition (in pm 2.5 unit), it also uses the device location to compare with outdoor condition, which is quite smart, if it would integrate with other smart home assistants like alexa, google or apple homekit, it would be perfect
the replacement filter of ax9 currently cost around 80-90, it’s 30% more expensive than most purifiers; however ax9 filter may have longer lifespan than other, as ax9 has a more accurate filter sensor, so i could replace the filter only when it about reach end of life, rather than replace it every 6 months as suggested by most other air purifier
all in all, i’m very happy with this product, no complaints, would definitely recommend i
This is a incredibly high quality product that surpassed all of our expectations of how good an air purifier could be.
– The whole experience is great
– Easy to use
– Very sleek
– Good app
– Seems to work well
From the moment this arrived we were impressed, event the packaging was really nice, the set up experience was really easy and pretty much once we had it connected to the app on my phone it was set up. Getting it connected to the app was easy once downloaded the app found the air purifier and paired with it nice and easily. From that the point onwards we have left the purifier in smart mode and it has been sat that quietly working away to improve our air quality.
The design of the unit itself is very nice, a nice two tone grey for the most part with a leather handle for moving it. The top has fins to stop things falling into the fan, In the centre on the top is the control panel which has the power button and mode toggle, the only modes to select are smart or manual. The smart mode will detect the level of pollutants in the air and adjust the fan speed to deal with them whereas with the manual mode it will stick to a fixed speed you select with a touch sensitive circle around the top of the control panel which is really cool. The control panel lets out a coloured light strip around its edge to tell you the state of the air and if in smart mode the speed of the fan, so when this goes red or purple the fan goes like crazy but visually you can see why.
The unit is pretty quite in normal use, we originally had this in the living room but found the air quality was always pretty good in there apart from when we were cooking, so we decided to put in the kitchen to help control the effects of that. We have a gas hob so it really makes sense that it would be throwing out a bunch of nasty things into the air. I have included a screenshot of the showing one of the graphs it provides, and how at the time we were cooking, 17:00 the pollutants jumped up but within an hour it was back to green levels and after 2 hours it was down to 0. So it really seems like the purification it provides is very good.
The app is nice to use but it would be nice to have a few more features, it can control the limit functions of the the purifier and displays all of the data that the purifier captures which is nice and also can show this against the outdoor data by communicating with local date sources. I’m not sure how long the filter will last in reality, we have been using ours for a month of so and the app says that it has 92% of its life left, I imagine that will decrease faster after longer use though, and the filters are definitely not cheap, at the time of writing this the cheapest filter available from AEG is 80.
Pros :
– The whole experience is great
– Easy to use
– Very sleek
– Good app
– Seems to work well
Cons :
– Expensive filter replacements
In order to give really a complete and useful review of this Air Purifier, I have to go into details for each relevant categories.
Shape and design: The overall size of this air purifier is a lot bigger than what I initially thought (even though I knew the dimensions) but in a positive size. The air purifier looks extremely stylish from the design and colour sides and I do not actually hesitate to put it in a living room among other beautiful furniture and vintage items I have.
Packaging and delivery: The delivery was very fast despite the large parcel and the packaging was honestly impressive. The air purifier arrived packed inside a company box which is wrapped in a food cling film around to protect even the box and all of these left inside a standard box with large papers inside for more safety while delivering the item.
Mobile App: You will need to download and install AEG app to help control the air purifier. This is probably one of the sides that the company needs to invest more to improve the quality of the App to match the luxury level of the air purifier. This does not mean the app does not work or has a big issue, NO please do not get me wrong. I just want to highlight that the app can be more convenient and efficient in terms of performance but I personally understand that the app has been developed by 3rd part company hence I did not knock any stars off the review as 5*. What you may like is to turn the air purifier ON before you go back home from work say by one hour and when you arrive you enjoy the fresh air and atmosphere as a result.
Filtering and overall quality: I am not going to list anything that has been described already in the item description or manual but would mention things that I have touched and felt while I have the product running. The filtering, freshening of the air and overall clearing the dust of the purifier is more than what someone would expect from this purifier (”360 filters and 5 stages purification”). It turns things completely differently but this depends on the quality of YOUR house and what you do. It is subjective:m some have or has no pets, someone has one or two people smoke and other houses without smokers, someone with allergies or asthma suffering while others looking just to improve the quality of the air for healthy people….where do you leave and around your house so many factors to consider which vary considerably among different households. Personally, I do not have the left-hand side of any of the above ….nevertheless I felt the situation in terms of the air quality has improved significantly after using this purifier for 2-3 days…very recommended.
Noise: I used to have a couple of other (much cheaper) air purifier than this one and one of the keys to consider when reviewing them is noise (as you expect these products to run for longs times some people leave always on. The noise that comes out of this air purifier is almost nothing. For those reading this review and know a little about the average normal noise level (anywhere without using an air purifier) then it is around 60-70 dB while quiet areas and houses could be around 45-50dB. The noise that comes out of this air purifier is just 46 dB! so I am not sure if I have to elaborate more. The noise that comes out of this purifier is totally brilliant and you almost could not feel it.
If you have allergic (mostly seasonal one) or asthma, have some or a number of pets or even would like to improve the quality of your household air then this is the one: It is expensive though, quality has always associated with a high price to pay. 5*
Hope this review helps any future buyers or interested people in this product while looking for an ideal product on Amazon.UK
It gulps the air down, it’s so powerful
Does a really good job compared to cheaper rivals
Surprisingly quiet too, very happy with i
Out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice is how compact it is for an air purifying unit, and how beautiful the design and the colour scheme is.
Powering it on and testing it out, you realise how quiet it is, even while running at full capacity, and if you leave it running in a closed room for a few minutes, you will definitely realise how effective it is when you come back to the room.
The app is easy to navigate and understand, and it paired with the unit in seconds without any problems, helping control the unit while comfortable on the sofa.
A few days on, the room where it’s used definitely feels fresher and all the cooking smells from the kitchen are filtered and you really do notice the difference, specially for anyone with any breathing or respiratory problems.
The unit is a lot more expensive than other alternatives, and the filters are a bit expensive, I was fortunate enough to receive it for free to try, but I would actually be more than happy to buy it if I had to, it is expensive, but for very good reasons.
Overall: This is a lifesaver for anyone suffering from any allergies or any respiratory problems, it is expensive but it will be an extremely good investment on the long run, would definitely recommend.
If your after a top class filtration system for your home then look no further you’ve found it. This machine is brilliant. It comes with a breeze 360 filter which ensures 99.5% filtration of particles with a size of 0.3 m. In addition, up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses in the household are eliminated and unpleasant odors are effectively combated. You can get other filters for this depending on what particulates you want to filter out.
The smart mode is where this machine works wonders as half the time you have no idea it’s actually running. I’ve set mine up to start monitoring early in the morning until 9 at night. And I’d say 90% of that time you wouldn’t know it’s even working apart from a small light glow in the top. It knows when I’m cooking and my kitchen is the other side of the house! That’s how sensitive the particle detection is. Then it will ramp up the fan speed to filter out all the bad partials given off and smells. We all get hayfeaver in our house so this will be interesting to see if it helps this year with that.
The app works flawlessly and you can monitor how bad your particle levels are, it’s really interesting to see the levels fluctuate through the day and the filter just gets on with combating those levels giving you cleaner air. You can adjust the filter rate manually if you like but in all honesty the smart mode is perfect for our household.
Yes the filters are a bit pricey but you are paying for something that will get the job done efficiently. After a month we are down to 97% filter so imagine it will need replacing in about 2 years at this rate but I do live out on the edge of a rural town.
I love it and recommend it to anyone that needs a top class filter system in the house.
I Can Tell Anyone Thinking About & Interested In Possibly Purchasing this AEG AX9 Smart Connected Air Purifier, and possibly Dithering about the Higher Price than some out there, That After 3+ Weeks of Using It..
Its Absolutely Marvellous, a Joy To Use & an Extremely Effective, Highly Sensitive Air Purifier.. Whisper Quiet, Even at Highest Fan its not a Turbo Jet like some.. App Control as well, with a Wealth of Realtime & History Data of Environment Info along with Control.

Some Quick at a Glance +’s first: The Filter is Huge, but this is because the unit has a High Area Volume purifying Capacity. Filter in Various Types too, AEG site want 80 to 102+ for some.. Amazons your Friend here.. the Complete Breeze360 Filter is only 65 currently, they fluctuate up & down as we all know, Pollen & Odour 79/89.
You might think its pricey.. But, each filter.. with care & maintenance, should average 2 YEARS! @ 12Hr days.. So really as most other filters are 30 & recommend replacement after 1 year.. Pretty Reasonable & Comparable running costs!
Energy Efficient at only 28 Watts Max.. And that’ll only be Full blast, if your Air Quality is Seriously, Seriously Bad!
Out the box, this sits on Raised Rubber Feet.. You can Buy Wooden Legs in Light Ash & Walnut, these will raise it Off the Floor or Carpet, it will look even more stylish & function even more efficiently, I reckon. We’re going for the Ash probably!
In the App under Options you can turn On the Ioniser function, great for faster Neutrilizing of Positively charged dust/pollen particles & also a child Lock there too.
This may not be to Everyone’s particular look & Style, but personally me & my wife think it looks amazing in the style & colours department.. we really like it and think AEG done a good job visually. The bottom Half Is a Solid Sturdy Grey’ish/Stone Coloured Mesh while the Upper Is a Quality Cotton Fabric.. If my Cats dare Sharpen their Claws on it, cat owners might like to keep a watchful eye!
Its Exceptionally Quiet so doesn’t really bother them.. Makes it Perfect for large Bedrooms then, you could sleep with this!
I am So Pleased this AEG is actually made in Germany, it Shows in the Quality of assembly, build & finish, for which they are renowned.. everything is ‘Just So’ & flawlessly Perfect! Our AEG cooker was made in eastern Europe.. the oven hinge broke & fell off after 1.5 years!
Large but not massive, only 22″ High & around the Diameter of a 12″ LP, with rounded hex circumference.. no harsh corners
Filters are easy to change, the Bottom Mesh Cover at the rear has a Fabric Tab.. just pull the off, slide filter in or out.. Seems to be held by Magnetic closure, the Mesh just Snaps back into place after.

Easy Painless Setup of App.. the same with Operation of the Purifier.. with or without the App by Central Touch Control panel & lights on & around its centre

The Air Quality Sensor is at the rear above the filter Mesh, Sniffs your Air & Analyses it for a little while after turning on, (& constantly monitors thereinafter.) Before whirring into life with various coloured LED lighting around touch panel, that correspond to the current Air Quality.. Green Very Good.. Red.. Yuck! Detailed particle info in the app.
As said, over 3 weeks in.. This is really efficient at keeping our large open plan Living/Dining room & kitchens air clean. Important as we both suffer from Hayfever, have cats, kids & use wood pellet cat litter..
Its really Ultra Sensitive too, I had a quick half a rollup ciggie in the kitchen, below our powerful extractor fan.. This AX9 in far corner of Livingroom within seconds had shot from a happy Green 12ppm to 97ppm Red Very Poor air quality.. & adjusted its Fan Filtering capacity to Suit!
Seriously.. i could not smell smoke.. thought it was all being Sucked out the powerful Extractor.
The clean air has made the difference though, to our nasal .. we are without doubt, Far Less ‘Stuffed Up’ & Blocked in the nostrils than before.. I was starting to Sneeze a Few weeks back indoors.. Pollen! I have not while been inside since using this.
Sitting on our sofa 9ft away .. we can Feel a Lovely Fresh subtle Downdraught of cool clean Ionized air.. that’s lovely.
The AX9 is a Splendid Air Purifier in Everyway.. if we had actually purchased this rather than gratefully received this to review.. we would not be disappointed with our outlay..
I do feel AEG could have thrown in Some Free Wooden Legs though, considering the price, that would have been nice for all.. gone up since first had & used

Such an amazing bit of technology at first I thought it was so overpriced but now after receiving it and using it I have completely changed my mind this is worth the price and I found the smart feature is very good and so helpful when I started using it I had it on manual and on high and it made the room very cold and slightly noisy but after setting the smart feature up I realised I had it on way to high and it set itself to what my room needed and the temperature was much better no longer cold and it was so quiet I thought it was off at first and overall easy to set up took a couple of minutes and most of that time was just me going to the wifi box. Feature wise that you can have on or off, is child lock and ionizer also it’s easy to clean just need to hoover the side of it and you can set times for when you what it to go on and off at also you can turn it on via your phone as well you can style it by buying different colour wooden legs for it too. Overall really good quality and works well.
I would say, AEG AX91 -404GY AX9 is definitely worthy for every penny we spent.
I’ve been using different air purifiers ranging below 100 over the last 2 years as I’m allergic to dust and eczema.
In comparison to the other air purifiers I’m having, these are outstanding in every means from look, performance and convenience.
The entire unit is aesthetically pleasing no matter it’s enormous size- it’s design, the fabric coating and the glass top with illumination perfectly fits every modern living room and can act as a decor.
It works in 2 modes, auto and manual which is great and convenient. However, inorder to unlock it’s true potential, you need to connect it with wifi with the AEG Wellbeing app. The feature like ionizer and extended monitoring are requires app interface.
In regard to performance, this outmatches all my other purifiers with the speed it takes very less time to deodorise the room.
Overall, it’s a great product to buy in the household kids or someone with asthma, COPD, allergies, and other kind of ailments that can be triggered with dust, pollen or 8nferior air quality.
This is an amazing air purifier, both in looks and in quality. The build is beautiful. It is much larger than I expected and heavy, but I don’t mind because it is so good.
The previous air purifier I had was a plain white unit, but the filtration system was in three parts and required customer assembly. This AEG system was a breeze to set up as the filtration system is one part that just needs the protective bag removed from it. A replacement costs around 40.
You don’t need the app to use it. Still, I would recommend the app because of the amount of information it provides about your air quality, both indoor and outdoor, using data from local air quality testing systems.
The app you are instructed to download in the instruction manual doesn’t exist, so I was annoyed as I am a gadget geek and like to have apps for everything. After digging around, I found the actual app to use is called “AEG Wellbeing”. Once installed, click Add A Device, then choose Air Purifier AX9 from the choice of three products.
The air purifier runs so quietly; I can’t hear if it is on. You can hear it on Max, but that is no surprise. It doesn’t need to stay on Max for long to clear the air in the room. After about 3 minutes, my air quality cleaned from amber to green.
I like that the unit displays a colour to represent the quality of the air so that you can see at a glance the air quality in the room. The only downside is you need to operate it with the window and door closed. It is not so ideal for the summertime to have the window closed, but I do see its point.
I am running this in my bedroom at night to help with asthma that bothers me during my sleep. I can’t hear it running, and it doesn’t disturb me in any way. I am happy to know that I am sleeping in a room full of fresh air as I share it with a cat and a dog.
It will only cost me around 25p a week to operate, so I am pleased with that, and the air filter should last a couple of years, so I am pleased with that too. In all, I am delighted with the product. It looks good, functions well, cheap to run and has a long life. What’s not to like!
It is an expensive purchase, but if you live in a poor air quality location, it will make a big difference to the air you breathe. It also removes allergens and dust, as well as the odour of the cat litter tray!
Living in such a busy city: London. It’s so easy to be breathing pollutants all day which gradually build up and cause health concerns over time. Believe it or not, even if your house is dust free and spotless, the air quality (depending on how close to the city you live), is very possibly concerning and infested with a cocktail of nasty microbes and pollutants. You may not be able to control the air quality when you’re outside, but this air purifier by AEG gives you the power to control it at home.
The AEG AX91-404GY AX9 air purifier is stunning and will easily blend into the decor of your home thanks to its beautiful grey tone cotton lining and build. I love that this product comes with built in app support, allowing you to monitor air quality and turn it on anywhere near your home. This means you can turn it on when at work and make sure that when you get home, you are breathing the finest quality air. The app is also built with algorithms, allowing you to optimise air purification in a dedicated set timeframe.
Don’t worry, even when the purifier is on max settings, it doesn’t sound like a plane taking off. It’s surprisingly quiet and you won’t be able to hear it from the other room, though may be distracting if it’s on next to you when you’re sleeping. Hence, I would recommend keeping it on the smart setting which is ultra silent and monitors air quality as it changes. It will then change intensity to reduce it back to the safest levels for you and your family.
You also have the freedom to make quick changes to purification intensities via the touchscreen display on the top surface of the purifier (please see attached video for demonstration). The filter is very long lasting and should last about 2 years before needing to be replaced. Though this depends on how frequently you use this filter. Filter ‘health’ can be monitored via app so you’ll know when it should be changed. You can then buy replacements via AEG Website (and soon Amazon) for (currently) 89 each, though, this could change in future. The power consumption is also very low at 28W. According to an online electricity calculator, it will cost ~52p per 100 hours of use, though this will fluctuate depending on your electricity provider.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product. It really works and I feel so much fresher, and so does my room. No odours, just excellent air quality for my family and I. Would recommend!
Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂
I’ve used cheap purifiers before and been rather underwhelmed by their impact. This, in the other hand, is the business. It really makes a noticeable difference to air quality.
It’s a bit bigger than what I anticipated from the photos, but not too big.
It was very easy to connect to the app – the only issue I had at first was working out which AEG app to connect it to as it wasn’t obvious from the instructions or from the Google Play store. Anyway, after guessing the wrong app a couple of times, I eventually tried the AEG Wellbeing app and this worked straight away (don’t forget to put turn off your 5GHz WiFi network if you have one while you connect it to the app).
The app provides clear and useful information about air quality in real time, and you can see the difference the purifier makes while it’s on.
It’s very quiet in operation. It’s easy to maintain – There’s a back panel (held in place by strong magnets) to access the filter and a cleaning regime is recommended, with key components cleaned once a month typically.
I’m asthmatic and suffer allergies too, so I’m delighted with the effectiveness of this purifier. Highly recommended.
Although this arrives seemingly fully assembled, you need to remove the filter, unwrap it and then refit. Easy to do and you have a yellow tape to alert you to the need to do so. You are then ready to switch on.
There is an app you can download for full control but you can also manually do so without using it. I have an existing purifier and, to be honest, I rarely look at the app information, so don’t let a lack of a smart device or a wish to avoid having yet another app put you off of this purifier.
Once the filter has been unwrapped, plug it in and then pair with the app (if you wish) or just let it start to clean the air. It has a smart (automatic) mode or manual option; the purifier takes care of varying air purity (or impurity) automatically varying the fan speed when you choose smart mode and that is what I’ve chosen to use rather than manual.
The purifier is quite large and around the size of a cylindrical kitchen bin. There is a fabric top, which will help it to blend in with soft furnishings and stop it looking too industrial in a lounge or bedroom. Despite the size, it is easy to carry around the house as it is very lightweight and comes with a soft handle fitted to the top.
All of the controls are on the top and easily accessible – or you can use the app. It is easy to use and you just leave it running in your chosen space, safe in the knowledge that it is removing nasties from the air every second it is running. Hay fever season is not something that stops my being able to sleep – my existing purifier takes pollen and pulverises it before it affects me. I used to suffer badly with hay fever, but barely feel affected when I am in the room with the purifier.
The filter is not washable and needs to be replaced when you are alerted to the need. Replacement filters for many items are currently difficult to source. I have purchased the replacement filter for this purifier already so that I won’t need to worry about being unable to get one when this needs to be replaced.
Overall, I found this made a difference to the air quality in my room, making it fresher and more vibrant. Pollen is much reduced, so I find huge relief from hay fever symptoms whilst this is running. It can be left on constantly and is mainly just a background hum that you can barely hear, other than when it ramps up the fans when it detects something that needs to be addressed. I think it is great and particularly useful during hay fever season.
I wasn’t sure about what to expect with this sleek looking air purifier so I did a bunch of research before it arrived.
I have a pretty good one already which does an enviable job which was much needed in our family dynamics.
* The Setup:
It’s a lot larger than I expected, but thanks to it’s chic, stylish design and it’s silent nature, it fits in well in our fairly modern open plan, busy kitchen/living area. It was simple to setup – the instructions weren’t needed which is always a bonus when time is important.
The app is well designed and easy to use, im able to set it up to come on before I get home so that the home is instantly fresher and cleaner upon our return.
* How it Helps Us:
Amongst us, is a person with sensitive skin which flares up with any contact to dust/dust mites – even sometimes breaking out in a nasty allergic reaction, such as when on holiday once as the hotel room was only superficially cleaned.
This unit has eradicated the build-up of dust on the work surfaces in the kitchen which required daily dusting. A very fine layer is visible at an oblique angle. We have pets too, which we don’t allow on the kitchen worktops, but the super fine hair from our longhaired cat gets everywhere.
* What Does it Filter?
It traps everything from cat fur, air borne dust, dust mites and pollen – all of which are essential for the sufferer in our family.
It also eradicates the scent and particles from smoking too, according to my research, very successfully – which would be very welcomes no doubt for homes of smokers with young children and a partner that doesn’t share the habit.
* The Results?
Symptoms are much improved, there hasn’t been a need to take antihistamine since I set his unit up downstairs; and as our home is pretty open planned, it covers the worst affected areas which face the open country where the pollen count is currently creeping up as it approaches summer. I like the colour indicating air quality display, such an easy to decipher touch.
The purifier is super quiet, just a low steady hum which is not really detectable unless i’m listening for it. It quickly becomes a subtle white noise with a decibel reading much lower than our undercounter fridge.
* The Bottom Line:
It has undoubtedly helped the allergy sufferer in our home and covers an area of the house which our older unit didn’t cover. Would highly recommend for allergy and asthma sufferers or for generally cleaner pollutant-free living.
5 stars
This is one of those things which are very useful and good for home. From the moment we turned on it works non stop 24 hours, and it really improves the air in the room. We are using it in our bedroom which is not too big around 20 m2 and it cleans the air from the dust and other stuff without any problems.
Setting up the air purifier is very easy just take it out of the box, don’t forget to remove a bag from the filter then put it band and turn it on and it will start to work straight away. The sound levels of this air purifier, are more dependant on the mode you are using. As in the beginning, I used a manual mode with the highest power to get better quality air in a room so it became quite loud. And if you put it on a smart mode it will adjust the power itself by the quality of air at home. However, it would be nice if it would have a sleep mode like the one air purifier we had before had one, which made it extremely silent but still working through the night. It has a very easy coloure system for the air quality in the room which is clearly explained in a manual. As well you can download the app which can provide information about the air quality, etc as well.
The maintenance is quite easy of this machine. Just wait till the clean filter light pops up and then take the filter away and hoover it, and put it back so it’s really easy.
Overall, it is a good investment to make home air cleaner and better. Especially if there is someone at home who has allergies.
This purifier is as described. It cleanses the air very fast. My daughter had an allergy, I don’t even know what caused it, tried to figure it out, but unfortunately with no results, but when I’ve got this device, I set it up to turn on and off automatically every day for few hours and her allergy gone within 2 days. So in my opinion, it is worth buying this purifier for things like that. If used every day for a few hours, the air pollution won’t go high. Controlling is very easy, you can control it from your phone even if you are not at home.
The filter is still at 100 after using it for +/- a week, so it will last for a while which is another great thing.
A bit loud if turned on to the full power, but basically no noise if used regularly.
What I don’t like about this device, is that it is very big and you need to place it somewhere where it could have a free space of 30cm from each angle and it cleanses the air only in the small spaces, so if you want clean air in the whole house/apartment you need to have 1 in each room (maybe it would work if left always on). This device costs 379 and the filter is almost 70 at the moment, so it would be quite expensive to have 1 in each room and the fact that it is big and you need to find a space for it.
This air purifier is very nice looking- I actually like the look of it as a decoration as well as a useful object.
It comes very well packed, there is a filter inside that can be replaced (around 42 on amz) and this just needs to be taken out and the plastic bag taking off it before plugging it in.
It is a smart purifier and it scans the air to tell you what the air quality is like, and works accordingly. We live in the countryside and I was shocked to see ours go to red (poor air quality), however thinking about it all makes sense- dust from the working fields plus pollen etc. It is fairly quiet, unless it is working overtime to turn the poor air quality to good, and it blows air out of the top of it, a bit like a fan, and it is pretty cool so I’m not sure I would use it in the coldest of winters. I could see a huge difference just after a couple of hours use, the air feels cleaner and it is a great thing to have to not only get rid of dust but bacteria (especially in these times). It also helps to remove smells (cooking, cigarette etc).
I have been lucky enough to try other air purifiers, and this really is the best so far. It is so much more powerful and sturdy. It is a very expensive item, but if it is within your budget I would say it is worth every penny.
The only downside I have found is that i have been unable to connect it to an app. I have searched in the AppStore and it points me to an Electrolux app, which then doesn’t recognise the barcode inside the purifier. It doesn’t really matter too much to me as I’m not that into using apps anyway, and the machine does everything that I want it to do by itself.
All in all though I would recommend and strongly considering buying another for our home.
I’ve looked at air purifiers before and then stopped.
When I got the opportunity to try this, I jumped at it.
Someone tell me WHY I didn’t get one before this??????
I’m Asthmatic and have a lung disease too and I kept saying to myself, ‘they won’t help’.
But flipping heck this DOES work!
We have dogs too with lots of air particles floating about.
After turning this one, I had to get daughter to check it WAS on as I thought my hearing aids had packed up lol, it hardly makes a noise, bliss.
I closed the door and left it alone for probably ten minutes and then returned. I was happily surprised that the air did smell clearer.
I asked daughter to come in and see, she’s Asthmatic too and she was impressed. She said it smelt clear.
We’ve had it on for a while now and my chest really doesn’t feel as tight as it normally does and my coughing has eased a little.
It IS expensive, I didn’t realised the price till after I’d ordered it and nearly fell over with shock lol at it’s 379.00 price tag.
But if I had too I’d pay this much for my health, now, I would, knowing it IS making a difference.
The purifier arrived safely, and it comes delivered well packaged inside a premium looking retail box. It measures 56.5cm off the ground and the attached power cable is 2m in length.
I’ve been using air purifiers for a couple of years now as I know how good they are at cleaning the air in your home; this AX9 from AEG is by far and away the best purifier I have used so far!
The quality of the unit is excellent, everything is well made and put together using high quality materials. I love the fabric that’s wrapped round the top half of the unit and the grey colour matches perfectly with my room, for a purifier its very stylish and looks like a piece of furniture. There are five large rubber feet on the base which give it excellent grip on hard surfaces or carpet and the built-in handles make it easy to move around.
Setting it up was easy enough as you just need to unwrap and insert the included filter, download the AEG Wellbeing app, register and follow the onscreen instructions to pair the app to your purifier. It was up and running in minutes and I didn’t come across any issues. Top marks for the app, its well laid out and easy to use, something that is overlooked in a lot of electronics these days!
The purifier has two operating modes: automatic or manual. In automatic the fan speed is adjusted automatically depending on the air quality. In manual mode you can use the touchscreen on the purifier to control the speed or adjust it from the app. The purifier also features an ionizer function which can only be enabled through the app and when enabled it generates ions to improve the purifier’s performance and increase the quality of the air in your home. On the lowest fan speed you cant really hear it operating and even when on high it never becomes too obtrusive, it’s one of the quietest models I’ve seen so far!
Around the touchscreen panel is an air quality light which changes through six different colours depending on the real-time air quality. You can also use the app to view various information such as the air quality (PM2.5, PM1, PM10, & TVOC’s), temperature and humidity.
The app keeps track of when the filter needs to be changed, I couldn’t find any information in the manual or on the website about how often to change it as I suppose it depends on the air quality in your home. There are two types of filters currently available with the cheaper Pollen version costing around 80 and the Odour Protect one costing around 110. Quite expensive for a filter to be honest, I can only hope they last a good amount of time before you need to change them!
Overall, I think this is easily one of the best purifiers I have come across so far, not only does it look great, but it performs exceptionally well and by removing 99.9% of airborne bacteria, 99.5% of all allergens, as well as dust and odours it can really make a difference on the air quality in your home especially is you suffer with asthma or hay fever. It’s an expensive commitment but I’m sure anyone who buys this model will be very pleased with it!
The AEG AX9 is a product that I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel its easily worth the full five stars, if your happy with the filter costs then buy this one with confidence!
This is a truly spectacular air purifier. We have one in our bedroom but we’re keen to have one for our living room as we suffer from allergies and dust and this sounded exactly what we needed.
This is a very unusual design of air purifier, we’ve had ones before which are the usual white plastic and plain variety but this is a work of beauty and maybe an acquired taste? It resembles a rolled up rug or laundry bin! But looks very contemporary and neutral as opposed to the regular white plastic you’d expect to see and I do like it. The outer is coated in grey, cotton feeling material and it has two leather feeling handles to manoeuvre it, it’s fairly light to move despite the initial parcel it was in being a heavy one at 12KG! This turned out to be mainly the strong cardboard protecting it and once out of the box it’s easy to move.
The set up with this is very simple, firstly you remove the tape tabs holding the filter cover on (to keep it secure during transit) and then most importantly take the filter out and remove the plastic bag surrounding it then replace the filter and put the cover back on. This is simple, can be done with one hand and all clicks into place how it should be so there’s no chance of getting it wrong. The filters are huge, like a large bin and this can take one of three different types (purchased separately) which do different things, the one included is a Breeze filter which is an all rounder but it can take ones specific to Pollen filtration for example. They’re fairly pricey to replace, my other air filter you simply hoovered but this is different obviously.
Once the filter is in place, bag removed it’s time to plug in and then on, once plugged in the smart screen shows the on button which you touch and then it displays mode which can be manual or smart, we have gone with smart which automatically adjusts according to what is needed and filters accordingly. We were shocked to find the second we turned this on it revved up and the light went Red which indicates very poor air quality! After a few minutes blasting out air (it was fairly breezy like a fan!) it sorted out the problem and then it gradually went to orange then yellow then green which is the best quality air. It can also go to purple which is extremely bad air quality and maroon which is the worst but thankfully that hasn’t flashed up yet! It’s highly responsive to dust, perfume, any toxins or let hair and keeps the air top quality, it can also cover the whole room and not just the corner it is placed in which is great.
This can also be connected to the AEG app which was simple but took me two attempts, you download the app, select your appliance from a list of three and then scan the barcode on the inside by the filter with your phone and then hold the off button until the Wi-fi Bluetooth light flashes, it then connects and you can give your appliance a name and check throughout the day on its performance! It also tells you when to change the filter by a percentage reading. The filters to replace are currently 42 on Amazon to buy so they’re fairly pricey but hopefully last a long time!
It’s a very clever air purifier, it’s doing an amazing job and we absolutely love it! Exactly what we needed and I’m happy to recommend, despite being Smart it was very quick to set up and go and is highly effective and the air feels cleaner already.
Very good air purifier. Turn it on and forget about it as it’s so quiet and has smart mode. More expensive than other purifiers but it is better in every way than the others. Only issue is the replacement filters are expensive but you replace less often than cheaper models.
I must be honest I was very apprehensive buying this product as I’ve never bought an air purifier before and was unsure of what brand to go for.
AEG is an amazing brand with a very good reputation I haven’t been disappointed with this product from first turning it on on and only after about 30-minutes I did realise the quality of air where was so much better after spending the whole day with it on on I noticed that I haven’t sneezed once and I suffer from hayfever quite badly.
The build quality of this product is amazing it’s made from metal mostly and fabric and looks absolutely stunning. Also this products is very quiet at one point I to make sure it was still turned on as it was so quiet and the app that you can download give you up-to-date information. I would highly recommend this product if you suffer from allergies or if you live in an area where the pollution is very high and I’m sure you will see the results from this machine.
The only negative feedback I have are that the filters are very expensive when replacing them.
