Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersComes with loads of accessories for mounting on just about everything, plus 2 batteries to give about 3 hours recording time at 4K. Image quality in daylight is very good with EIS working well. Like most cameras it struggles in low light. You can of course increase the exposure time to compensate a bit.
The App worked fine on my Android 12 phone, handy for remote control if using the camera on a helmet.
The only downside is the lost of the date a time when swapping over a battery, which is just a little annoying. Make sure you get a decent memory card (U3 as fast as you can afford :)). Overall an excellent little action camera for a fraction of the price of the ‘big brands’.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for cycling having had a couple of run ins from car drivers with no idea of the rules of the road (including one road rage incident that I was physically threatened). Mounted the camera on my helmet which for the short journeys I am doing is fine, but I think longer journeys it would get too heavy being on the helmet – perhaps swap to the handlebars at that point.

Quality wise, I was surprised at the quality of this for the price. With the camera in the waterproof case, the sound is muffled, but still legible. I did set it to 1080p rather than 4k for both stabilisation and smaller file size.

Not yet had to recharge the battery (of which there are 2 – only need 1 at a time) so can’t comment on battery life yet. I have a 64gb card in there which gives 5 hrs recording at 1080p, not sure about at 4k, but expect a significantly smaller amount of time.

    Overall I’m pleasantly surprised.

This product comes well packaged and had a premium feel. Every accessory under the sun was included, and extensive array of GoPro compatible mounts, waterproof case, remote control, all sorts.

However the video quality itself is underwhelming. Probably due to the size of the Len or Sensor. Videos are very grainy.

I have never tried a “real” GoPro so don’t know how this compares. It’s not a bad product for the price though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have bought this camera to use when snorkeling on an upcoming holiday. I have had a full size Canon digital camera for some years and often bought a disposable underwater for use on holiday. So far the AKASO ek 7000 Pro is showing promise of equal picture and video quality as my dclr. My 4 star rating reflects my initial response, I hope to add an update ‘from the field’.
The touch screen has taken me time to master but with the help of my son I soon learned the difference between touch and swipe! This was my own, age related, unfamiliarity and fear rather than the camera itself. My son had a Go Pro and was able to demonstrate for me as it has a similar operating system.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThough I’ve only had this a short time, it’s a little early to give a comprehensive review. After having a GoPro Hero 7 Black for three years with consistent battery/screen-freeze problems, this I hope will give good quality without those let downs.
On first opening and trying things out, I am impressed with the easy we’ll designed controls. Much easier to guess where different settings are without even opening the manual!
The manual, is actually just a ‘quick start’ guide but a much more comprehensive pdf manual was available to download. I did this, but as always I edited out over 100 pages of foreign languages cutting it down to just 24 pages.
I contacted the email support (fast response) to ask about the internal clock, it needs resetting after swopping the battery. A bit of an inconvenience, but if powered by USB (power bank) whilst changing it, it isn’t lost. Maybe a minor point to some, but as I shoot with other cameras, the time stamp on each clip saves me a lot of time when sorting in my editing software.
I would have preferred a 1080 x 50fps, but only 30 or 60fps choices. My other cameras do 50fps, which is my preference. So we’ll see how conversion/renders affect the end results. So 60fps to start with.
Initial quality at FHD 60fps looks pretty good.
I’ll edit this review and give more details at a later date when I have more experience to judge upon.

Went on a surfcamp and footage was very good underwater, pretty happy with this camera! I am not an athlete nor an expert in photography so I knew I wanted something easy, decent quality and accessible in case I lost it. This Akaso is exactly that! Actually, I ended up loving the colors of the pictures and the videos as they look different on their own way, as in, it does not look like I recorded with the phone. Would totally recommend for a beginner looking to buy an outdoor camera for the reasons I mentioned previously!

Good camera for an impromptu adventure!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersGreat action camera. Have used a couple of times now. On 4K i recorded a 1H 50M ride around bridleways and towpaths, on occasions very bumpy. It didn’t do anything random like stop recording or corrupt video files and it lasted on a single battery.

The file size was huge – 29GB in ~7 separate 4GB MOV files so you’ll need to do some post-processing in a video editor to stitch them all together. I also found that speeding up the video by x8 was more interesting than normal speed – turns out watching me ride around for a couple of hours at 10mph isn’t that exciting. I got the whole ride, sped up x8 down to 1.5GB @ 720p MP4 and 9GB @1080p.

On another ride I recorded at 1080p/60 but looking back 1080p/30 is probably ok, especially as i’m speeding the videos up by x4. Using various commands in ffmpeg the end file was 5GB. Car registration plates are readable.

    A few things:

    – The pole mount for handlebars is too small for my 31.8mm dropbars, i’ll probably to get an out front mount.
    – There doesn’t appear to be a way to turn off the flashing red recording light
    – Mine came with x2 thin metal cables, about 15cm long with loops at each end – no idea what they are for. I’m assuming they are to tether the camera to something in case it comes loose. The waterproof case has no way to attach these cables.
    – The manual says upto 32GB SD Card – i’m using a 256GB SanDisk card and it works fine.
    – I haven’t bothered with the WiFi or App – just offload the files on to a laptop for further processing

Why only 4 stars? I’ve had it a month and only used it twice. Giving myself wriggle room for the cameras longevity.

Edit: after uploading to this review the short video clip (1080p/60), it’s apparent Amazon does some additional compression so the video doesn’t represent the actual quaity off the camera

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI spent hours reviewing many different alternatives to a GoPro camera. My GoPro case broke and it wasn’t possible to just replace the case so I had to look for a while new camera. I first thought that the Akaso reviews sounded too good to be true but I decided to give it a go. I am so impressed. I am by no means a professional photographer but used my GoPro for watersports (paddle-boarding, rock jumping, snorkeling, swimming etc.). I was eager to try out my new Akaso. I took it paddle-boarding and then used the app. Everything worked great. The picture quality was as good as my GoPro and the play back screen and app all worked great. So far I’m very happy with my camera.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI purchased this camera to use on my bicycle when I commute. I didn’t want anything too fancy or expensive like most of the GoPros are, so I settled for this.
I attached it to my bike helmet using one of the many attachments that it comes with, and it works well.
The video quality is good. You can easily read license plates on cars passing by for instance, and the stabilization works well.
The waterproof case is very helpful too.

The app could be better. I just want to be able to quickly view or save my videos, but for some reason it isn’t so simple.
Regardless it’s very easy to simply connect the camera up to a computer and copy the files across to where you want them.

Battery capacity is okay. Seems to last for just over three hours per battery, so it’s suitable a good number of trips before they need charging again.

Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat little camera,

I’ve only played around with it and used this once but it seems to be a great cheap camera at a fraction of the cost of go pros.
It comes packaged well, (the clip that secures camera to box was broken) but other than that everything to get you started is in the box except an sd card.
Plenty of options and fixings for different uses I’ve not explored them all.

I used it on the handle bar of my bike on a short cycle on hard packed cycle routes and I wa surprised with the stability of the shot, played with the view angles too all seem to have an impact on the footage.
I will get more use of this soon put it to the test in different situations but on a whole I’m very impressed by it.

I’ve been using the Akaso Pro action camera on the front and back of my bike for about a month now. I use mine for my bike mainly, the image stabilisation and picture is very good. I can easily see registration numbers if I needed to. I actually bought two and put one on the back of my bike. I bought a bike seat rail bracket so I could have the camera just under my saddle. The cameras have the option to turn the screen upside down which is great for the back of my bike. The camera has a touch screen which makes it very easy to operate. I normally go for rides of over 2 hours and the batteries are easy to change. It does not bother me to change them. I think you will get an hour and half out of each battery but I don’t let them run out. The time and date does stay on when you change the battery but over time the time goes a bit out but its easy enough to put right. Over all in very pleased with these cameras as makes me feel safer when in out on the road. They also have an app so you can see your videos on your phone and even take screen shots if you like.

There are so many reviews, videos etc. of this camera, that go into it’s utility and functions in great detail, but I’m just going to give an overall impression of it in relation to my own purpose for using it.
It works well as a front handle bar mounted camera on my bicycle. The case does seem to be waterproof and the camera captures good video of the traffic. It is easy to turn on and off, using the front button, through the waterproof casing. The small remote control clips onto my keyring and there have been no control issues with it. It will not power the camera on or off but once the camera has been switched on, using the front button, it starts and stops the video recording well.

The handle bar mount is sturdy and there are no problems framing a level picture. I have a pretty rudimentary bike but the handle bar is a hybrid one with a bend in it. I’ve had to put the mount on the part where it curves – only because I already have other stuff mounted on the handle bar. Despite the mount being slightly askew from the vertical, the mount allows for side-tip adjustment to get the camera level, which is great.

I only have one slight complaint with this kit… that is that I’ve thought that the only other way I might want to use the camera is to mount it to a short holder handle that I already have, with a standard screw thread mount. To do this, I’d have to use the cage provided and then screw in the handle.

Here, there does seem to be an issue. I have tried pushing the camera into the cage and it does not “click” soundly into position inside it. The clip at the top is OK but the base is not held in firmly at all. Upon viewing videos and web instructions for mounting the camera in this cage, I’ve realised that it is almost certainly a cage designed for another model. The one shown in videos has a small circular notch cut out of the top bar to allow the white LED on the top of the camera to be viewed. Mine does not have this notch. This is not a big problem for me because I’m not too bothered about using it for anything other than a “dash cam” for my bike. Had I intended to use it in other ways, the inadequate cage supplied (with mounting threads) would be an important utility component and would affect basic mounting functionality.

One star off, for being supplied with either a badly designed cage, or the wrong cage altogether, but otherwise, it is perfect for my purposes – catching dangerous driving, close passes etc. and sending in video evidence to the police. Overall – I’m very happy with the camera. I paid about 65 for it – but the 77 that it’s currently at would have made me think twice about buying it. It fluctuates between these two prices every few weeks – which seems to be a common Amazon marketing ploy – so best to wait ’till it’s at the lower of course.

Loved this little camera on my holidays. made some very good action shots espcially doing the ziplining and para-gliding. With the wrist remote it makes life so much easier. Very pleased the action camera espcially compared to other brands. It has good reviews on some respected uk review sites too, which is why I chose it over similar looking ones. I was pleased with the many extras, such as helmet and bike mount, both of which are solid and should stand the test of time. Audio quality is great but reduced when in the waterproof case as expected. The camera has some great shooting modes and the app is easy to connect to and navigate. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

We bought this little gem for a family trip that included diving, swimming, snorkelling, and boat safaris. We were very impressed with the performance which turned out to be just as good as more expensive brands. Images and videos both under water and on land were good, and the waterproof case did the job even in 18 meter deep dives. Our only very minor complaint is it doesn’t keep the date if off for more than a couple of days. Battery life was amazing!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSeems great so far. Only tested video but seems good. Bought to get some videos out on my motorcycle. Might hook it up to a usb power supply and use as a loop recording dash cam.

Went for this (touch screen) pro version because working through menus with a touch screen is usually easier/faster.

My only issue is with so many accessories (see picture) it’s hard to know which ones are best for mounting it. Maybe some pictures giving options and ideas for mounting it would be good.

No doubt it will be coming on holiday with me and find itself used in plenty of other ways.

If it blows me away I’ll update the review with pictures and videos. Ultimately it’s those that best illustrate how good an item like this is.

    =================================================================
OK so here’s the update and i have attached a video to show quality although had to save as an mp4 file to shrink file size. The camera saves a 5 minute 4K video as a file of about 1.4Gb which isn’t that bad but if on holiday for a week you might fill a 64Gb card. 64Gb would be around 13 x 5 minute videos. They also save as .MOV files which is pretty common but check your PC can play these or you’ll need other software like VLC media player (free)

Even though when you read “4K” you assume video quality will be crystal clear that’s not always the case. First time out the video quality was actually terrible. I mounted the camera in the “open” housing because the waterproof case prevents recording sound and i wanted the roar of my motorcycle engine on the video. The camera was set on 4k recording and kept turning itself off. After around 20 minutes all i’d saved was a 4 second video! (annoying to say the least). The only setting i could get to work was 1080p 25fps. I had image stabilisation set to on BUT also incorrectly had diving mode set to on (because i read it as “driving” mode! (assuming it might reduce wind noise!) lol
The image was wobbling all over the place and the wind noise from the internal mic managed to totally drown a GSXR 750 engine which can normally be heard from much further away than 2 feet!!
When i say terrible i mean a 750 motorcycle being worked hard can’t be heard at all, just wind noise!

I sent the video to Akaso technical support and to be fair they were quite helpful advising to use a card of the correct speed (mine was OK) and to format it in the camera before use. I did this and then tried to record again.

This time i mounted the camera in the underwater case (out of curiosity). I set resolution to 4K with diving mode off and image stabilisation on. This made it quite a bit better. Still not a great 4K video against say something like a Go Pro or DJI drone (which is a great camera) but still decent enough to get a video that is watchable. For 70 against a couple of hundred for a Go Pro it’s value for money.

There are lots of great cameras out there that cost hundreds but if you want to shop on a budget this is value for money when set up right. For motorcycle videos i’m going to look at using an external mic but this is another one for technical support. I have the EK7000 Pro which according to the Akaso website can use an external mic but in their list of which mics are used with which cameras it doesn’t get a mention! (they make a point of saying mics other than theirs might not work but not which one of theirs to get!)

In summary. Not great but not as bad as i first thought. Still not 100% sure i’ll keep it but not a total disaster. Just need to be careful to use the right settings, mic etc for motorcycle videos.
    1) Use a decent 10 speed card (Sandisk etc).
    2) format the card IN THE CAMERA first.
    3) Think about if you want video or sound and if you want sound maybe use an external mic. You can at least position an external mike behind the visor to reduce wind noise and increase engine roar!

I will add that if you are using it as a vlogging camera, or in a car i.e. somewhere without all the wind the internal mic is pretty decent. The sound is quite natural but sound and video are only good when played back on the pc not on the camera, on the camera sound playback is terrible!

On the whole for the now 65.99 it’s probably a decent buy.

    Seems good so far ...(updated)

Bought this for my little boy. He has used it extensively and it has proven to be good value for money. Battery life is the main issue but it came with two batteries. Be prepared that there is a reason for this.

I purchased a EK7000 Pro to record my daily commute by bike into the city. The camera itself is excellent. I record at 1080p 60 fps with the image stabilization on, and the videos are clear crisp and extremely smooth even over rough terrain. The camera fits securely in the waterproof case, which is also great and robust feeling. In terms of battery life, I get around 130 minutes on a full charge, which is more than enough for my needs. The only reason the camera doesn’t get 5 stars from me is I couldn’t get the camera secured to the bicycle frame. The plastic mounts provided fitted on my handle bars correctly, but because they are plastic, I couldn’t get it tight enough to stop the camera moving around under extreme vibration. I purchased another separate metal action camera mount (because they mostly have the same fittings) and now it works perfectly. Despite this small extra expense, I would highly recommend this camera. In fact, I might get another to record behind me too.

I was contenplating for some time as to what action camera to go for. Having had a look around I felt a GoPro was too expensive for what I wanted to do (Basically some time lapses and vlogs). Having had a look around I felt the Akaso EK700 Pro would be more than suitable for me. It sure does live up to most of my expecations. The camera quality is really good and the support is amazing from Akaso too. I had a chip on my lense and they where keen to get it resolved quickly. I’d love to personally see some improvements to battery performance as you can only get about an hour and half of recording time before the battery dies and needs to be replaced however it does come with 2 batteries and more can be ordered.

I’d love to see the ability if it doesn’t exist already (Not looked into it) or even something from Akaso in terms of a wireless microphone. It’s really good for vlogging but having that wired mic is a tad annoying.

Otherwise the camera and it’s features is really good.

I purchased this to film some motorcycle journeys and having seen some of the videos uploaded and the complaints that follow, I was a little sceptical about the capabilities of this very reasonably priced action camera. All I can say is maybe people have the settings wrong. The video attached is filmed from a body strap, purchased on Amazon, while riding the motorbike, with stabilizing mode on. For me, the quality is very acceptable and perfect for when I am too old to ride, sat in a home mi kids have put me in, watching what I used to be able to do. judge for yourself.

very easy to use, as long as you remember it’s a touch screen. I use it as a helmet cam when cycling, 1080 @ 30fps works really well and the battery lasts for about 90 mins (that may improve with more charging cycles) Lots of attachment options are provided and my kit included a spare waterproof case. Really very good value.

Great little action cam with tons of accessories, spare battery and sturdy fittings meaning you can fix it to almost anything. I have fittings on my climbing helmet and walking pole and using the remote means I can take a quick snap or video so easily, no messing around. The video is lovely and clear, even in the case. The mic though is a little limited when inside the waterproof case but is fine without and even better with the external mic fitted. The battery also could do with lasting a little longer but you have a spare! All in all for my kids and I to play around with, acting like YouTube heroes it’s a nice little camera

    Great featured little action cam!

Good value and lots of features and accessories for the price point. Not too overwhelmed on 4k performance, however works excellently on 1080p 60FPS setting (outputs look great). I used mostly for underwater shooting and it includes a dive mode too and image stabilisation quite good. Also comes with its own app (akaso go) and uses WiFi to transfer images to phone, or you can use direct transfer. Only major gripe was lack of onboard/app compression features for 4k files, they are huge/raw meaning you need a large memory card (64gb), might have challenges if, like me, your primary view and editing device is a phone, and takes some time to transfer via WiFi. One pro is that it comes with 2 batteries and its own USB battery docking charger. Battery performance pretty decent. And a decent amount of settings for video capture. App also includes some basic editing features.

In summary great value for the price point and recommended if you’re up for 1080p shooting.

I own a Go Pro, but needed some additional cameras to shoot with the Go Pro, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money buying additional Go Pro’s so brought the AKASO because of the price. I was blown away by the quality, which was better than my Go Pro! Surprisingly the colours were more vivid and the image quality had more detail.

For the price and the quality, this is a no brainier. Definitely recommend.

Bought this to use in and under water, but with the included equipment can be mounted on multiple things (helmet, handlebars, canoe etc.). Easy to use and being able to download the images to ones mobile using WiFi is great – not needing to use a microUSB port.
Great images taken underwater this summer at the UK seaside.
One bugbear at the moment is that the date and time don’t update when the camera is switched off (battery left in). This means that the images can get filed in the wrong dates that they were taken if you don’t manually update the date and time each time you switch it on. Akaso customer support have been trying to send through a software update (1st attempt didn’t work). If this gets fixed I would increase the rating to 5 stars

    Good waterproof camera

Compared to brands like GoPro this is a great affordable alternative with old photos, reasonable image stabilisation and when the case doesn’t leak the waterproof seems fine. It’ll never be as good as a GoPro which doesn’t have a case to shoot through but that’s to be expected. My first case leaked but Akaso sent me replacements quickly which work fine.

It is reliable, when you start a recording it always record (I’ve had other devices which did not do this). Image stabilization is great at 1080p but not available at resolutions above that.

I’ve used it while skiing on my helmet and got great footage.

Would have liked if the LED stayed lit on the remote button to indicate that the device is recording.

Wi-Fi transfer is painless and reliable, the companion app enables this. I would transfer to my Android phone and then up to cloud storage to free up space to record the next adventure.

Recommend purchasing a branded large microSD card for recording reliability.

Overall great action camera for the price!

When I bough it I was not impressed with battery life time ( 50 minutes at start) , But after a few times I noticed the battery cycle life is extending, It seems the more use makes battery more powerful, now each battery giving me 95 minutes in 4K recording, out put Quality is good and all in all I am happy with camera.

I brought this product based upon it’s image stabilization and night-time features as I ride my bicycle to and from work across many bumpy roads. I wear the camera connected to body camera connection and can see the stablilization working when the bicycle handle bars moves up and down over bumps but the camera maintains a central position. Picture is very very clear. Although the remote control does work, I don’t use it as I prefer to use the start/stop button on the camera and visually check the camera is recording. Spare battery is very useful. Had the camera a couple of weeks and yet to fault. Recommended.

Got my Action Cam yesterday and at first was a little taken back by the amount of items that came with the camera. Got the camera up and going easily enough. Great pic quality at 1080 60fps and after a few you tube videos know how to use the accessories. Wifi easily enough and was amazed at the technology. Was thinking this will be used as a spy cam too.
Took it on its first outing on a walk last night. Had great fun with it. Downloading and editing the footage.
Overall a great little cam and the only reason for 4 stars is that I’m still trying it out and will update in future. Night time pics aren’t the best but it does what is says on the tin. Using 64Gb card too.

We looked at loads of different action cameras at this price point (there really are loads which all look roughly the same) so why did we go for these;-
    1. Feedback on AKASO product and their customer service reviews
    2. Touch screen facility (thought would be ideal for kids)
    3. Remote control functionality
    4. Image stabilisation (you really shouldn’t buy one without IS)

So I’ve waited to use the product befor reviewing this product (I bought 2 for my boys xmas) and I can honestly say you get a lot of camera for your money, but at this price point you have to accept some compromises over similarly tech packed devices costing hundreds of s more!

One of the main deciders for us was the remote control wriststrap, which is absolutely brilliant when using the camera outside fixed to a bike / yourself, particularly for a 6yr old! However it has one major drawback if you have multiple devices as the remote WILL operate both if they are in range…..our boys found this out quickly when filming on their go karts! (Note: You can use wifi mobile app that will control a particular device, but this isn’t practical solution for our kids)

    Pros:
    – Well made, quality feel
    – Very nicely packaged (made for very exciting gift)
    – Image stabilisation works very well (only at 1080P)
    – Easy to use with touch screen
    – Remote control wrist strap
    – Very intuitive interface (my 9yr old had no issues getting to grips with ‘vast’ functionality)
    – Video image quality is good in daylight, but don’t expect same quality as 1080P as you see on TV
    – Picture image quality is good in daylight
    – Waterproof enclosure is very good….and waterproof (but do expect some condensation)
    – Accessories are awesome (although we bought additional accessory kit that included a carry bag)
    Cons
    – Sound quality is adequate, but non existent when camera in it’s waterproof enclosure
    – Don’t bother with 4K, but 1080P is plenty good enough
    – Image quality is poor in low light, but you got to expect that!
    – Remote control is not dedicated to one device (is operates more than one in range)
    – Battery life is OK (but you do get 2 x batteries)
    – Battery compartment lid is fiddly and easy to loose!
    – No carry bag

We bought these for our boys (6 and 9) and they are very pleased and making ‘action’ videos on their bikes, scooters, etc. We generally insist they use the (very robust) waterproof case when outside, which (sadly) means there is no sound, but we are looking at using mobile for sound and splicing together.

Overall great quality action camera (for price!), image quality (in good light) is great at 1080P, but lack of sound when in case is a little disapointing, but not a big deal at amazing 50 price point. Remote control is great , but has its limitations with multiple devices. Would totally recommend at this price point, particularly for techy kids (but buy additional accessories with carry bag ~ 10)

I bought this last week, a couple of days before my skiing trip, as I didn’t want to pay hundreds and the reviews were good. It’s very lightweight and easy to operate, with a load of accessories hidden in the box, so you don’t need to go out and purchase anything else, and all easy to mount on my ski helmet although a curved attachment would have been ideal instead of two horizontal ones — it still stayed on the helmet so all good. The camera comes with a case for using underwater or wet weather such as my skiing trip. The quality was very good although the sound through the camera speaker isn’t very loud. It also came with a remote control which made a difference so I didn’t have to take the ski helmet off every time I needed to switch it on. It also comes with a free accessory kit which will enhance all the extras that are already within the box.

Firstly, the price of this camera was great. After looking around for one for a while I opted for this as it had 4K, wireless connection, adjustable angle, touch screen and a remote which I struggled to find for the same price from other budget brands.

Comes with loads of extra mounts (so many that I’m not even sure what they are for!) and accessories including 2 batteries which is really handy. Probably the only thing missing is a case to put everything in while out and about.

I still haven’t fully tested the video capabilities as yet but the only thing I have noticed is that photo clarity and quality is far from ideal in low light conditions (i.e. indoors). This is especially evident in narrower angle photos.

Another improvement would be a more comprehensive user manual in the box as well as clearer instructions on what all the mounting accessories are for.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNext day delivery. Really pleased with this little camera. Got it to mount on my motorcycle helmet. Loads of accessories and is compatible with other brands of mounts. Image quality seems good so far. The remote control is really handy to switch between video and camera mode whilst wearing gloves. Overall, it may not be as good as more expensive action cameras, but it is a fraction of the price and will cost less to replace if it falls off and gets damaged.
    I’d really recommend this camera.

I received this item as a gift this Christmas and after considering purchasing this item for a long time I am more than pleased with the quality of this product.
I have used this a few time’s so far and have had very little issues with this product. I was pleased to see that the camera was well fixed in the box and was not damaged in transit. I also tested out the waterproof case which worked well and no water appeared to seep through !! The camera also comes with a secondary waterproof back which is always nice to see. As expected the camera is very small however i did think that The controls could have been sightless bigger for ease of use. The only other issue which I had was that I did not like the online instructions and would have much rather received a manual instead. I would highly recommend this product and great value for price.

A great little camera that’s every bit as good as it’s much more expensive counterparts.
It comes with everything you need to record all of your adventures on land, in the air and in the water. The two batteries supplied ensure that you never miss a great picture because you are out of power. The wrist band remote control is simple to operate and allows you to be in your photos or mount your camera in a remote vantage point on a vehicle. I thoroughly recommend this camera!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a nice little camera that I’m using attached to my motorbike to review my journeys. There are several mounts in the case which cover the general options and apparently the mounting system is just like on a GoPro, so GoPro mounts work too.
UI is sufficient to work the camera and I like the setting for diving that compensates for the colour absorption you get under water (I used to scuba dive). I’ve added the app to my phone to control the camera and it appears to work fine, although it means that I have to swap from my home wifi to the camera wifi to use it (it would have been nice to be able to add the camera to my wifi). I thought there was Bluetooth connectivity to this too but if there is I can’t find it mentioned anywhere.
Instructions are brief in the box but there is a downloadable manual which covers a bit more. I would have liked a little more information on the supplied mounts but once you start to play with them it makes more sense I guess.
Comes with two batteries which is nice. First time I used it the batteries took a couple of hours to charge, but I’ve not had to charge them since. It also comes with a simple push button remote to start / stop and take pictures, which I thought was a nice touch.
    Overall, I’m impressed.
EDIT 2019-12-09: For the sake of full disclosure I have to add that I was offered a freebie to make a positive review. That offer didn’t sway my opinion, but I do feel I need to disclose that fact.

I have been searching for a good quality action camera that is under 100 for a very long time. After a lengthy research, I decided to order the AKASO EK7000 Pro…. I thought it was great value for money and I loved the idea of having a touch screen. When the camera arrived, I was amazed at how good the camera/video quality is, it is also really easy to set up! I love the fact you can change the effects on the camera to make the image black & white, sepia etc. and I can’t believe how many different accessories that are included in the box! I cant wait for my holiday next month to test it out under water. This is a well made sports action camera with all the features you would expect to find on a much more expensive piece of kit.
I would definitely recommend this product.

I purchased this for my partner as she had an original old Go-Pro Hero and looked forward to using the huge new range of accessories provide both in the Akaso Ultra HD 4K camera itself and also in the bundle that came as part of the product. The two batteries are a great asset. Easy to navigate the menu; loads of options; nice big viewing screen; great battery life and downloads are easy. Picture quality is excellent both video and photo’s. We both do a bit of underwater photography whilst we dive and the quality is great in the UW mode. Would certainly recommend the Akaso Ultra HD K

I bought this camera to take diving with me, sadly on my second outing the case opened and the camera failed to work. Upon contacting the company they sent out a replacement unit immediately. The camera is great for what I paid as it was on sale. In site it won’t compete with a gopro7, but it was 1/6th of the cost. Just beware the case as it unclipped fairly easily. Something they could improve. The extras in the box are also something I should comment on, you get a decent amount of add ond for the price.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought the EK7000 a few months ago, but the fixing snapped whilst in the sea and the camera was never seen again. I needed another camera urgently and this was on offer, so went for it.

To be honest, I don’t see a huge improvement in the pro compared to the the standard EK7000, so probably wouldn’t have bothered if it had not been on offer.

The camera does suffer from condensation, so you need to add moisture absorbent paper inside the housing. It’s a tight fit, but does do the trick for a short time. It would be nice had Akaso thought about this, and built something into the housing to allow for silica gel pouches to be used.

Overall it’s a good camera for the price and is way cheaper than a gopro!

Really nice little camera especially for the price. Recordings are really good, again especially considering the cost. Stabilisation seems good for hand held filming but real test would be the bike..not tested yet. Menus easy to use and touch screen a big help. Sound recording quality is ok but not in the waterproof case of course. One major negative for my use..no clear playback of the recorded sound to review your recording..suspect it uses the tiny mic as the playback speaker. Really nice set of attachments/fixings in the box of accessories especially for helmet/bike/tripod use. No head or body strap supplied. Unit is very light so good for head wear but may not withstand impacts too well (but what camera would?) and curvature of the lens protrudes from the bezel so can scratch if put face down. Also, small battery cover detaches for battery swap so don’t drop it in the snow or on rugged ground. All in all, really good value for money.

Having shopped around for an action camera (cant afford a GoPro) I stumbled upon a number of available via amazon.

I read a number of tech site reviews, as well as the verified purchases on here and plumped for this model.

The box arrived on time and with the camera securely fixed to the lid (took a while to realise I needed a screw driver to remove it). It comes inside the waterproof case and feels solid when inside. The camera itself when outside the waterproof case does feel lightweight and a little “plasticky”, but is easy to carry.

The contents of the box include a quick start guide and a ton of accessories, most of which I have no idea how to use, or what they are for. It would help if there were some instructions, or basic diagrams to advise. It would be great if it came with a wrist strap as standard. It comes with 2 batteries and a charger with micro USB cable and is easy to replace the battery when needed.

I used the camera on a recent holiday to Cornwall for bodyboarding and sea swimming pics and it works great, it even floats (slowly) if you let go.

The battery life, could be better for longer days out and to save having to go out with the extra, but for my use (day at the beach), I managed about 1 hours worth of overall use, which was mainly still images and about 20 minutes of video.

Takes great images and videos, some have complained of sound issues when in the waterproof case, but my model had none and you could hear conversations and water/bubbles etc when in use. I wish it was easier to navigate the menu, I am using more as a point and shoot device, so not a real issue, but if I wanted to delve into the options, the software isn’t the most intuitive.

Would I buy it again knowing what I know of the device? Absolutely. For the price it does a great job.

Very glad that I did as this an excellent camera at a fraction of the price. Good clear touch screen and the menu is easy to navigate. Comes with two batteries and a few mounts and accessories. It also fits GoPro mounts so there is a lot of flexibility. My only real criticism is that the battery compartment is difficult to open and feels a bit flimsy. Overall, very pleased.

This is a very good action camera considering it’s price. The image stabilization isn’t great nor is my Sony as it’s only software related. Picture quality is good for up to 1080p which is 60p if you go higher it is getting choppy. As you can get only 30 – 25 fps. Honestly for the price it is absolute bargain and comes with so many accessories that if you are buying something for 50 quid you are more forgettable. Good purchase at the moment, but time will tell.

Bought before I went on holiday after seeing the review on the gadget show.

My son used it in the swimming pool image was great and case was waterproof so I took it scuba diving with me.

I captured really good video at 1080p and looks very good on a full hd tv.

    Using a 64gb memory card.

I rerecorded 15 minutes of HD video which then rolled over to a new file once it hit its 4GB video limit.

The clip on the waterproof case did become loose i had to tighten so it would clip back together. Case has remained water tight since then.

I would recommend at this cost you are getting a great camera with really good video for mucking around.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersFor its cost, this thing cant really be faulted. I got mine for 30 quid with a discount and gift token. Basically the same spec as the hero white at about a third of the cost. Marked down to 4 stars on image stabilisation as only active at 1080p or lower. This said the picture at 60fps is simply excellent.

    Worth a punt? Absolutely!

Update, changed rating to 4* as EIS not as effective as hoped and also significantly reduces viewing angle. Still a great offering for the price, but honestly I think if I was buying again, i’d go for the EK 7000 rather than the pro, as I wont be using the image stabilisation. I’m actually looking at the V50 pro as a better option for a cam with EIS.

After being knocked off my bike I decided it was time to get a small camera to record any other incidents. Initially I was put off by the low price of this item assuming that low price = low quality but I could not have been more wrong! I took the camera out on several occasions and on one of them got cut up illegally by a car. When the police viewed the footage they were amazed how clear it was! Okay this thing probably isn’t the same quality as the 300 cameras, but it does the job you want it to do and is pretty easy to use. I am tempted to get a second one to put on the back. At this price I am certainly not complaining

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersUpdate 2 Jul 2019 – Have tried different SD cards, including the card that works fine in my son’s action cam, but still get random power offs or hangs. Son’s cam is the same make/model and his works fine so maybe I’m just unlucky. USB plug on camera also doesn’t work. Sending back for a refund. When it records, for the price it is great. But can’t use in the waterproof enclosure as it over heats and last 20 mins max, can’t trust when using as in 4 cycling trips it’s always stopped recording and/or hung, USB port doesn’t work, occasional recording is corrupt. Also lose a couple of seconds when recording when it starts to record to a new file (4GB file max, so 45 min trip usually creates 3 files with a couple of seconds lost inbetween). Can’t rely on it as evidence when I’m cycling, and if using on hols then I would be gutted to find it hadn’t recorded anything.

Update 28 Jun 2019 – Great when it works, but very unreliable. Have tried to record 3 separate 2 hour cycle trips and each time I’ve had the camera randomly switching off, hanging and needing battery to be removed and put back in again, or corrupted video files when I’ve got home. I had expected to swap batteries (each lasting about 45 mins) but the unreliability of recordings is very annoying.

Going to try with a new SD card, otherwise will be returning. Lad’s one works fine so I may just be unlucky.

    *****************************
Just brought my 2nd one of these after getting one for my son and being impressed with the quality. Mainly used to record cycling and running trips. Not a fantastic top of the range camera, but for the price it’s a great bit of kit with some minor niggles.

    Good:
    1) Very good image for the price, and image stabilisation seems good,
    2) Great selection of mounts provided, had it fitted to helmet and bike handle bars very quickly after receiving it
    3) Waterproof enclosure works well, but muffles sound (as you would expect) and traps heat (shortening battery life)
    4) Remote control works well, though I rarely use it now as tend to record videos from start to stop
    5) Having two batteries is very useful, though watch issue of losing date/time when swapping batteries.
    6) Viewing through phone app while recording was very useful to help set up camera angle on bike and helmet. Wouldn’t use it all the time as does drain battery.
    7) Replacement batteries are readily available, so got some 1350mAh batteries and have got 100 mins of recording out of them.
    8) Using a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card I can record around hours. Note that recordings are split into multiple files as maximum file size is 4GB, so for example a 70 minute recording will be split into 3 files (2 x 4GB and 1 x 1GB)

    Bad:
    1) Camera does get very warm, especially when in it’s waterproof enclosure and no air circulation. I’ve been recording at 1080p / 60fps. Also got some condensation when in the enclosure (see image). Not had that with other action cameras so assuming it’s also related to the heat issue. (Will try recording at 30fps and see how that extends battery / reduces heat).
    2) Battery gives around 70 minutes of recording, but that drops to 25 mins when in the waterproof enclosure which is disappointing. Again, heat related.
    3) Camera loses date/time when battery is swapped over, so must remember to have camera attached to USB charger when swapping batteries. Just a minor niggle until all your videos have the wrong timestamp on them, but you soon learn. Time/date easily set by linking to phone app which is quick and accurate.
    4) Formatted SD card using camera, but then Initially had some issues with corrupt files , roughly 1 in 3 files would be corrupt and unusable. Formatted SD card on PC (exFat) and not had any more issues since.

Good value, but get's very warm which impacts battery life especially in waterproof case.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersLove this camera as wanted a GoPro but couldn’t afford one so I done some research and this one come up a lot and for a quarter of the price is well money spent in a little disappointed there isn’t a zoom in or zoom out photo but can always crop it once transferred onto laptop. If you want good sound then avoid using the waterproof case as kept this on the whole time as I wanted to keep it fresh but found the sound isn’t too great with it on. Fab little camera though I would highly recommend very happy x

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersI bought it for adventure activities. It came with many accessories for attaching to bicycle hand. The picture and video qualities are good for this price. The image stabilization can work with 1080P, not for 4k. But the 1080P is enough for me to record videos. The remote works well. It connects with the camera automatically when the camera is turned on. Actually, I tried to upload a sample video without reducing video quality but it seems to be a large file. All in all, if you are looking for a low price and good action camera, the AKASO EK7000 Pro is one of the best choices for you.

Good quality. I recommend to buy it for recording action activities.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is absolutely fantastic! I am blown away by it; Incredible value for money.
The accessories are vast with seemingly endless possibilities, and of high build quality.

Within minutes I’d attached the camera (with a verity of the accessories) to my bicycle helmet, where it was safeley secured and offering fantastic recorded footage.

The playback feature of the camera is great. I was very impressed with all the features in the settings of the camera; Image stabilisation is very good (a feature that stood out to me before purchasing as I will be using it on a bicycle) I look forward to playing with the various filters such as B&W, Sepia, Inverted ect

When I discovered how to connect it to the iSmart DV App I was stunned! Incredible intuitive and excellently allows you to view all your videos and pictures and download them to your phone if you choose. Meaning they don’t have to take up any space.
It also has a live streaming feature, which is incredible; I will try this out as a reversing camera, using one of the many accessories to mount it to my Kayak Trailer.

    Would definitely recommend this product!

The picture quality is very good. The sound quality is awful. Microphone doesn’t work when it is in waterproof case. Connection to wifi is time consuming. There was no instruction book , just an online download. iSmart DV app isn’t very good. Doesn’t recognise video or photos already saved. Only works with current Wi-Fi project. THE REMOTE CONTROL ISN’T WATERPROOF !!!!! You need to have it protected under water. Which means using the wristband unusable .

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWell, the headline says it all. A wonderful little camera operating on 4k. Lightweight and dead easy to operate, it comes with a surprise package of a load of accessories hidden in the box – check this out before you go off buying accessories – Something that most companies would charge you a fortune for.
The camera comes with a case for using underwater and on pedal cycles and a host of other activities as well. It truly is an action camera. I use it for hill walking and camping expeditions, so the head strap and chest strap are a boon. Unfortunately you do have to buy as these as an accessory.
However, for me, the best feature is to have a remote control. What a great thing to have, and also a free accessory as well.
I was looking for a dashcam on U Tube when I stumbled along this camera. I need look no longer, this little baby does it all, and at a fraction of the cost.
Like all things, look after it well and i’m sure it will last for a long time to come.

Had this camera for around 24 hours now and first impressions are that for the money it’s a great bit of kit. Clamped it onto by motorbike this morning and apart from it freezing once (in 1.5 hours worth of riding) it came up with good quality videos. Not bothering with 4k as if other reviews online are to be believed it isn’t true 4k but instead 2.7k with interpolation. 2.7k seems pretty smooth but 1080p60 at times appeared a little distorted at higher speeds with EIS turned on (I don’t know whether the vibration of my bike at higher speeds was too much for the EIS) and have yet to try without EIS when clamped to the handlebars. Over all thought apart from the higher speed riding the footage was smooth and detailed even in lower light (albeit with a bit of noise in the dark conditions).

Slightly dissapointed to see that EIS only works in 1080p mode or lower. It would have been nice if akaso detailed this on their Web page descriptions. The 4gb file limit is pretty much standard for video camera recordings in my experience so not a huge issue.

Sound wise not amazing but I think this might be as much down to video codecs on my computer distorting it as all seemed on on camera or on the app.

Accessories wise it’s a pretty impressive set of adapters cases etc included in the box. If you have a bicycle or motorcycle with oversized bars (as I do) a lot of it of zip tie work might be in order to get the bike mount working though but again no biggie I guess.

All in all unless you’re planning on being a pro vidoegrapher and can’t afford to stump up for some of the more premium action cameras on the market this is well up to the job of capturing you next adventure.

Now I’m. Looking forward to the weekend and actually being able to test it in propper daylight!

Golden Review Award: 88 From Our UsersIt all started so well.
Day One…. attached to my bike and went for a spin, was impressed by the image although I had to rotate the video on my computer 180 degrees, fair enough and not a real problem.
Day two … just as day one, all is good.
Day three … after making adjustments to the settings the footage was unwatchable, the Electronic Image Stabilisation didn’t work at all.
I contacted Akaso in the Amazon sellers link for some advice and was told that ‘EIS’ doesn’t work if the resolution is greater than 1080p … forgive me for being picky … nowhere does it give that information in the product description!
This wasn’t the problem anyway as I was recording in 1080p at 30fps as on day one and two.
However, Eureka moment … I think I have solved the problem … the EIS worked again today but no thanks to any advice from Akaso Customer Service.
The EIS doesn’t work if you flip the image in the settings!!
So basically I am back to the how it was on day one, good footage and have to flip the image on the computer.
… that’s the moaning out of the way, now the good points.

Image is pretty good and smooth out on the road and handles the bumps.
Battery life okay and I am getting around one hundred minutes out of each.
Video resolution limited to 1080p (although still HD) if you need to use the EIS function.
Not being able to utilise EIS with most of the settings is more of an irritant than a problem.
The battery cover is poor and already broken.
The navigation around the menus is not that good.
Fat32 file system splits the footage into 4gb files, again more of an inconvenience than a problem.
Would I recommend this camera … considering that I was going to return mine for a refund … yes I would … if you are able to live with the limitations.

My wife bought me the Akaso EK7000 pro for our trip to Japan next year.

I didn’t want a GoPro as these seem really expensive and the Akaso seemed like an excellent cheaper alternative.

All I can say is I’m more than happy with the Akaso.

I’m no expert but the picture and video quality both seem excellent

The camera comes with a range of helmet accessories and other attachments.

It also comes with two batteries meaning you can always have a fully charged spare on standby.

As I said previously, I’m no expert and can’t compare it against more expensive action cameras, but for me it is an outstanding little product and I can’t wait to use it in anger in Japa

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a very good action camera that I recommend as a first camera. I spent a lot of time looking for one on Amazon and eventually bought this. Unfortunately the first one I received had a defective button, which I returned. I purchased a second which was functional and have had no problems.

I really liked the design of the camera. It is a good size with touch screen. One thing I would suggest as a change is a way to switch on WiFi mode while the camera is in the waterproof case. If there is a way to do it I haven’t worked it out yet!

The image quality for what you pay for is very good. I have yet to try 4k so cannot comment on that but the other modes give a good crisp image. You get plenty of options, with higher frame rates offered at the lower resolutions.

The sound quality is not great, but they aren’t on any action camera in this price range so can’t complain about that.

The one thing I would really like an improvement on is battery time. I think mine lasted an hour an a bit on full charge while recording which I would obviously prefer to be a bit longer.

    Very good value action camera

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have been wanting an action camera for some time , and did a lot of research to try and find one with the best features for under 100. I bought one from another manufacturer but it would not read my 64gb sd card, so I sent it back. When the EK7000 Pro arrived it was a totally different ball game. The touch screen is a nice touch and it is so easy to use and setup. I have tried out the video and photo settings and they all work really well.
I cant wait for my holiday in May to test it out under water. This is a well made piece of kit with all the features you would expect to find on a much more expensive piece of kit. Loads of accessories and add-on bits and pieces.
I am well happy and would definitely recommend this camera.
