After using the Index for so long, using the Quest controllers without a hand strap feels uncomfortable. This product was recommended to me by someone online, and overall I am happy with this purchase, though it’s not perfect.
The hand straps have a rubber edge surrounding the pleather which comes off fairly easy over time and almost all of this edge has come off of both my controllers. Also with extended use, I notice dark marks left on the underside of my hand just below my pinkie fingers right where the strap sits. These marks are not easy to wash off, but instead take a couple days for them to wash away. Also on the left hand, the velcro strap has started to separate from the pleather over time, so be careful with how you handle them.
The straps themselves are fairly comfortable, though does need some adjusting over time. I have pretty big hands which does make it a bit of a struggle to put on without loosening completely
So I have been using these controller straps for around a month now and the problems I have are how small the straps are where they sit on your hand makes you have to move your fingers more to press triggers or buttons almost like it Moves the controllers down into your palm more. The panels for the battery compartment just pop off almost made me think I broke it first day so for how much they cost the plastic seems rather cheap and the strap is decent material at leas
i’ve bought a 10$ hand strap who i used for 2 years that was cheap as hell and uncomfortable…but this is definitely worth 3x the price…more space for the hands, larger band for comfort….but there’s one major flaw…the batterie compartment opener is very hard to open…i can’t even use my finger nails…i have to use a knife and risk to damage it to pull it open…WAY TOO STIFF
They work for me, quite comfortable and I’ve had zero real issues with them so far. They aren’t great for sweaty, fast paced, arm swinging games like beat saber (always use wrist straps, whatever you have. A flying controller is always possible. Damaging whatever they hit not to mention difficult to replace controllers is not worth the risk) , but otherwise they are quite nice.
It makes no change to the grip of the controller, so it has the same size and feel as stock. But that also means zero increased grip like you would get with rubber textured grips, so your hand can start sliding out more easily.
They do not interfere with the sensors in any way though unlike basically every other grip out there.
I’ve seen reviews of the elastics breaking, but had no problem yet. They do come with 2 extra sets (you get a total of 3 white and 3 black) and I would definitely recommend putting the metal connection on the inside (it came with them facing out). If they all broke I don’t think they would be particularly difficult to repair and it’s possible hair bands could work as that’s pretty much what they are.
If you just want the knuckle straps that don’t interfere, these are the best available.
No more accidents fits beautiful in the hand very nice grip
Original oculus strap adjuster thingy broke so we were on the hunt for a new one. Oculus store was out of stock so we looked for alternates on amazon. Kids wanted to try one with straps that go over the hand so we settled on this one. After about a month of use, this broke when my kid tried to tighten the strap. All I can say is, KEEP THE WARRANTY CARD that comes with the product. I did, and contacted them and they got back to me within 24 hours. Less than a week later we had a replacement that they sent us via amazon(they sent a new set, not just one to replace the broken one). Hopefully this one will last longer. 10/10 for customer service though.
Very great product that lets you relax your hands instead of constantly gripping your controllers. As well, this helps with finger tracking in games like vr chat, making doing different hand gestures a lot more natural feeling.
Only complaint is that the texture of the plastic doesn’t feel as nice in the hands as the original plastic.
Excellent quality, definitely improves grip and comfort while playing Beat Saber and Until You Fall. The price could be a bit lower though for a product as simple as this, around $CAD15. Perhaps, packaging should be simpler? Overall, good value for the money and a great first impression after a week of use.
These work great for my child just which he could use his rechargeable batteries with them, he isn’t able to because they don’t work with the charging dock.
I used to have some other third party grips that slid over the entirety of the controller’s handle. this is much more streamlined and convenient, however actually removing the battery cover is a bit of a pain. I can’t pry open the cover with my own hand, I have to use a little pry tool or screwdriver to get in there. feels like I’d break my fingernail trying on my own.
all that in mind though, these are great and I’m happy with my purchase! having knuckle straps really helps with my wrist pai
These are the only design that lets you let go of your controllers but also doesn’t block the IR emitters on the halo.
If you don’t believe me, check youtube. There are IR emitters all round the halo part of the controllers. The straps that anchor to the halos, block the IR emitters. These don’t.
They work, they are a decent price and they are comfortable. Best I have found so I’m happy.
Other straps add bulk to the controller body and it makes the controller thicker to grab and causes your thumb harder to reach the furthest button on the controller. The other straps are also angled weirdly so it doesn’t wrap around your backhand quite right.
AMVR strap angle is perfect, it adds no bulks to the controller – the same exact original feel of the controller with a strap! A word of advice for the elastic band – basically hair band. Turn the piece of metal clamp inside the cover instead of on the outside to avoid breaking from stress pull. Because the anchor point where the elastic sit help reduces the stress on the metal clamp.
For anyone who said it doesn’t fit into the Official Oculus Quest 2 case. Angle the right-hand controller into the left-hand controller ring. See photo.
These work well and are a nice change from others which add bulk. The battery door is what keeps these on and it doesn’t feel like it would release unless you open the battery door. The rubber band thing was something I was a little worried about. Seemed cheap, but it actually does the trick properly and doesn’t seem to be wearing down easily at all. If you need a good set of controller straps for your quest 2, I’ve tried a few, and these mimic the original feel of the controllers while also being conformable and secure. Get em!
The strap broke very quickly, but that may have just been a bad batch so I don’t think its something to worry about. That being said, it did its job well and wasn’t intrusive on the design of the quest 2 controller, which is something I was looking for when I bought it.
It’s not the best, but it’s not the worst either.
Edit: AMVR reached out to me directly and is sending a replacement! so while my product may have been damaged, im hopeful that this will mean good things for this second set! great Customer suppo
I love these. they are a great grip strap and the battery door is soo much better than the covers the quest comes with stock. I have tried several grip straps and grip combos now and these are far and away my favourites. they are comfortable and functional. I truly daily drive and use them every day since I got them months ago and they are comfortable and convenient to change batteries.
This is ideal if you don’t want to mess with silicone grips, you like the plastic cool feel but you want good hand straps.
There’s a little hexagon texture on the palm side which is nice – improves the feel. These textured plates replace your battery tray, and the trap door is a little easier to remove than taking the whole cover off.
Also the clever design of the trap door latch locks in the battery plate so they shouldn’t pop off during a crazy gaming session.
Update: after 2 months of daily use the edge of the straps are starting to show signs of wear. I’m not sure if the straps will last a year (the elastic bands seem fine so far). VR accessories need to be durable…
I’m keeping it at 5 stars for now because the price is pretty reasonable
I’m so glad I bought these. I had other anti throw grips on my controllers and I had trouble reaching some of the controls because I have small hands. These give back the original size of the controllers so I have no trouble reaching the buttons now. It is also so much easier changing the batteries. The battery cover just pops open. The strap that goes over the back of the hand is very comfortable. This is a great product!
I was extremely impressed at first, but within a week, the Velcro started coming unglued, and I had to use duct tape to keep it together. But with the duct tape, they work fine, and I still think they’re much better than the Kiwi ones I tried, for several reasons:
The straps are more comfortable…the Kiwis had attached at the top with a metal ring that dug uncomfortably into the side of my hand, leaving a mark. The silicone grip covers seemed fine, but when I switched to these, I was amazed by how noticeable the weight difference was. Also it turns out they covered two tracking LEDs… I didn’t notice any problems… But I’ve read that due to the location, they are most likely to cause problems when they’re outside your field of vision, so you’re likely to assume it was your fault you missed. In any case, tracking is the most important thing in VR, and that is the entire purpose of the controllers, so there is absolutely zero excuse for a design that obscures LEDs even if usually doesn’t cause noticeable problems. Finally, the Kiwi straps, when Velcroed normally were extremely loose; when tightened firmly, they had to fold the Velcro part and had a lot of extra strap hanging off the bottom which sometimes snagged on things and caused them to often come undone, until I cut off extra material and duck taped them in place so they were no longer adjustable.
Summary: Compared to the short Kiwi grips with silicone covers, these are much lighter, don’t interfere with tracking, and are much more comfortable. But the Velcro may come unglued. Still worth it.
The straps work really well and are worth the price themselves. I just had to change the batteries for the first time in my controllers, and found it to be harder to remove the batteries using the small battery openings. It was easier to just slide the entire side of the cover off.
Letting go of your controllers is a game changer. For one, it makes it more comfortable for longer play sessions. Secondly, anything that requires picking up or throwing is now a lot more intuitive than having to simulate the motion while keeping hold of the controller. Definitely one of the best accessories for the Quest 2!
The oculus controllers require something like this out of the box. the safety straps that come with the oculus controllers are great so they don’t fly off and go through a window but when grabbing and throwing items in game it’s important to know the controller won’t actually leave your hand. This is wehre these grips come in perfect. Easy to install, and are working as intended. My hand did cramp at first playing beat saber but that’s because I had them too tight. Definitely recommend.
Quality product.
My mistake was thinking I could use these alone but these are replacements to their 2 piece set.
Bought this for my son, I had to go back and purchase 2 piece ki
Extremely easy to install: simply replace the existing battery cover with these and you are done.
Easily holds the controllers in place without affecting the tracking at all.
The straps themselves can be lengthened or tightened with the Velcro closure to give you a secure grip. The elastic band at the top ensures there is some give to the strap to allow for easy movement when you reach for the buttons or triggers.
If you are having trouble replacing the batteries through the provided access panels – simply slide the whole cover off the way you would have to with the original covers.
I used these for quite a long Supernatural workout. There’s not a lot of grip/texture to the hex cover, but the rubberized leather straps keep the controllers in your clutched. Based on some other reviewers who have stated that the elastic bands (i.e. hair ties) holding the straps has broken, I believe the simple solution to this is to reinsert the bands with the crimped metal piece on the inside of the controller, so the hand strap doesn’t exert pressure on the crimping. I also ordered a set of toddler hair ties, mainly for the color choices; they’re the same size, and made without the crimping that might one day come undone.
The installation was a snap and the controllers fit my hand like a glove now. I purchased a set for my G-2 as well and it was also a great fit!
If you want immersion, you have to let go of your controller to let go of things in VR, and this does it for you like the Valve Index controllers. They’re adjustable and stick to your hand even if you’re throwing stuff in VR, no wrist straps needed.
D0UG- from echo arena here… This knuckle strap is hands down the best imho. It handles every issue I’ve had with every other strap… Broken eyelets .. broken bands … Velcro wear down, small knuckle strap, poor strap location on back of hand, battery replacemt and most importantly longevity… Which all the afore mentioned issues run into. The placement is perfect and the concept and execution and materials of the door rreplacemt are perfect stress on the band is removed nothing is on the halo causing a wonky feel it lays exactly right… And when. You see the band you’ll instantly smile knowing you can pick up bags of them at many shopping locations around in the woman hair dept .. it has enough play so you don’t have to strap and restrap the band causing Velcro to break down . They really are the best for echo arena at least i mean i don’t know any other games lmao … But for real Echo destroys straps these will last until the #punapples hit master level lol. Its gonna take something to get me to even think of using anything else … But these for sure … I’ll have way more content now bounces and 19s for days cuz the controllers are always exactly right so i can throw throw throw
We have been using these for 2 months and they are great. The ability to open your hands and not drop the controller is worth it. Fits the kids hands and well as adult hands. One elastic band has broken already but not sure if the kids pulled it apart or got a bad one. There are several extras included so as long as no more break in a month or 2 we will be good.
All too many of the other grips on Amazon have issues of covering tracking sensors or have fitment issues. Finally found these which are simple to install, comfortable and simple to use.
I got these mainly to use with Supernatural since the controllers can get slippery when you work up a sweat. I had read reviews on other straps that they could cut into your hands, and I was blown away by how soft and pliable these straps are while remaining sturdy and snug. I have small hands, so I can’t say how well they work for larger hands, but my husband said they feel good to him too. Glad I chose these!
This saved my controllers from eventual breakage and they would slip off my sons hands and fly across the room. No more with these straps its a perfect fit for all our hands in the household. Quality product and easy to install. Recommended.
With the Quest 2, many users were disappointed to find the controllers were significantly larger – anyone with smaller hands would not be able to maintain a good grip and buttons were hard to reach. This product fixes that! These straps come with their own cover that fits over the battery, and it’s designed to a smaller diameter. The result is that the controllers fit very similar to the original Quest controllers. Also, instead of two Velcro straps that are awkward to awkward to adjust, these straps have a buckle so the straps can be adjusted with one hand. These are well worth the money – I can’t actually enjoy using the controllers for the first time with the Quest 2.
I have been using these grips for the past month now. They work perfect and I enjoy the ease and comfort of the grips. The Velcro closure makes it super easy to adjust easily between two different users! I purchased to secure my oculus controllers to my hands for workouts in my Supernatural App boxing and flow workouts! My first shipment of these grips I was sent 2. Left handed grips. They immediately resent a new set with a left and right. The exchange was easy and seamless! Would recommend
Pleasantly surprised, good quality feels like it cost more than it did . The real winner battery doors, hello! Now I got a set of rechargeable batteries off here and magnetic charging cables, I never take my battery out. Better yet the magnetic clip fits inside the door with only a slight bulge. Well done great product good price MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS OCULUS QUEST 2 USERS!
This is just what the Oculus quest 2 needs. Great support for hold the quest 2 wands. Still gives you access to replace the batteries in the wands. Well worth the money!
Easy to adjust, seem durable(Adult owned/used), the battery covers stay snapped without slipping off, they fit my XL mens’ glove sized hands fine.
I wasn’t able to change the batteries through the little rectangle holes and had to slide off the whole cover but that is easy to do.
I’m very glad to not have a ton of silicon on my controller grips because my hands would likely sweat more and these are cooler to the touch.
Throwing grenades and frisbees in vr are a lot better with hand-straps 🙂
These are great! They fit my Quest 2 controllers perfectly and I love that nothing goes around the ring. I had previous straps that did and I would randomly miss blocks on Beat Saber that I shouldn’t have. A little research told me that there are sensors in the ring that the straps were probably blocking so in come these guys. I used them last night for the first time and beat all of my previous high scores! (So I guess I really was blocking sensors before). The “hook and loop” straps are just as bad as my last set and I’m going to do to them what I did to my last set of straps…rip off the generic hook and loop and superglue heavy duty 3M Velcro on in its place. If AMVR is reading this, we would pay more if you upgraded and used real Velcro! I’m still leaving 5 stars though because of the perfect fit on my controllers and the overall design.
These things are great. I haven’t exactly tested the extremes, but they work very well to reduce the likelihood of letting one fly NY accident… or dropping while not paying attention. Highly recommend!
This is probably one of the sleekest and most unobtrusive grip strap add-on I have seen to date. If you have large palms like I do it may not be quite as comfortable as the previous grip straps. However it’s a lot easier to get to the batteries and doesn’t get in the way of any sensors.
The only thing that I wish it had is on that leather strap a little more of a grip texture to it as it does look like they might be a little bit prone to sliding off the back of my hand but we’ll see how that goes with continued use. I don’t anticipate it being a major concern.
I thought the little battery door accesses that are on the replacement covers moderately pointless but it is easier to just remove the battery through that cover then to slide the whole thing off though that is still an option.
Absolutely loving every moment of using this. I was scared at first that replacing the battery cover would mean this wouldn’t work as intended, but the reason there’s a battery door on the cover is that this door also locks on to the controller itself with a strong plastic tab – it’s dual purpose and brilliantly engineered.
I’ve used this for exercise games, shooting games, rhythm games, and not once did I have the feeling the controller would slip off or fly off.
Fully and completely worth every penny.
These are amazing. They perfectly fit my hand and hold the controller in a natural location for hitting the trigger, grip buttons, and joysticks. They’re also incredibly light for beatsaber.
hese grips were easy to install and make a real difference in game play.
Pros:
I have a lot of trouble operating the squeeze grip controls. I would inadvertently squeeze the button just gripping the handles. Installing these allows me to play open handed until I “need” to grab something.
Cons:
The battery switch panel is not large enough to easily remove and install new batteries. By this product for the handles, not the battery cover.
This is my 3rd pair of knuckle straps and were the ones I liked the best. Simple to install, easy to use, and they don’t look like a janky DIY job or make the controller feel odd.
I really like that they basically use hair ties to hold the strap…perfect tension and easy to replace if they wear out. Spares are included.
I bought these for the battery compartment, but the batteries have yet to die on me so I probably won’t be using it a whole lot to change batteries like I did with my Go. Changing batteries is really not hard so I’m pretty indifferent about that feature, but the rest of the design makes me very glad I purchased these.
While I’m not exactly flailing my arms around like a crazy person, these do make me feel less worried about tossing the controller while moving my fingers and arms around while playing games.
I kept loosing my controllers as I was playing but with these new grips. But now I can focus on the game. My movements are more precise since the grips feel like my hands.
I really liked these hand straps, but it snapped after 1 month of using them. The faux leather strap is nice but its being held by a small child hair tie. I hope the seller can reach out to me and help me out with this…
EDIT: Omg I checked the box and it came with extra pieces!! Holy 6/5 product, super happy with this purchase!!! <3
I like them and they give extra elastic peices that looked just like hair ties that you can find anywehere, good thing cause I have broken two so far. They do not obstruct the remotes hand controlers sencers.
These grips are inexpensive, comfortable and keep the controllers on my hands. I had to adjust my grip a bit for the first few days, but now really like them. If your thumbs are less flexible, these may not work – I have to pull my thumb back a bit for the A, X and Oculus buttons; but now that I’m used to it, it’s automatic. I don’t have the Anker charging dock, but I’m pretty sure these grips would prevent charging the controllers (darn! I really like that charging dock – guess I’ll save some money charging the old-fashioned way.)
They feel comfortable and I can now let go and it not fall out of my hands.
Easy to adjust with velcro and fits all size hands.
It makes the controllers so much more comfortable it’s insane. Can finally relax my hands. No more hand aches and pains. Throwing objects feels much more natural now
I would love to give these 5 stars. They work great and definitely had lessened the risk of accidently dropping or throwing the controllers. Received them on Jan 15, the velcro lifted up on Jan 28. There is no stitching to hold the velcro on, it appears to be ironed onto the straps.
Much better than the other grips that i have tried. These grips provide 0 additional bulk whilst attaching a high quality strap with a great feel. I had issues with other straps as they would through of the feel of the controller, made it really hard to play eleven table tennis with them. But with these there are zero issues, Feel much more comfortable for long play sessions and makes throwing stuff in vr feel 100x better.
The only possible concern i had with these was the lack of protection they provided but i feel the grip of the controller is quite robust and the rings are the main things that are likely to smack into something.
These grips are perfect.
They replace the battery cover, so it doesn’t make them bulkier like other silicone covers. There slight pattern on them helps with the grip, and the fact that the straps are on top of your hands helps a lot with the grip (You can have a looser grip). I simply love them!
Trs confortable.tres facile a mettre en place et trs bon prix
Fits well for my average – large hands. Little hair tie strap snapped when first installing but they come with a bunch of spares and you could honestly replace them with actual hair ties if you had to. No issues since then. Secure and comfortable to use.
There are simpler than some of the other grips and easier to install. Easy to swap out the battery also. Keeps the grip narrow, unlike some other grips that make the controller fatter.
I almost bought another type of strap that has attachment points on the ring. After researching forums though I discovered those types cause tracking issues because they block 2 of the IR lights. These however have been perfect. Easy to install and once adjusted easy to slip your hand into and out of. Very comfortable as well. Not having to keep a constant grip on the controller makes all the difference when playing. This and the oculus branded premium head strap are must haves.
These were so close to being the perfect knuckles grips for the Quest 2!
They’re very comfortable, the battery door is convenient, and they don’t block any of the sensors.
The fatal flaw is that these grips are incompatible with a lot of cases. The tabs at the bottom, where the straps feed through, prevent you from being able to nest the controllers with their handles inside of the other’s sensor ring.
I would be stoked to see a revised design that takes advantage of the removable nature of the stock wrist loops.
As I equipped these to play beat saber I thought to myself. “Strap in or strap on?”. Got a good laugh. Definitely worth the money.
These grips are really well made. I’m not convinced the “leather” is real, but the straps feel fantastic. The little hair tie that affixes the straps to the controller offers a comfortable grip when contorting my hands during gaming, so these grips don’t suffer from the “too tight” or “too loose” conundrum. Real Baby Bear grips. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and having a good tactile feel, the battery access port is really handy. While that’s handy, it brings me to the only complaint (but doesn’t warrant a star). The small piece of plastic that covers the battery port doesn’t snap closed tightly. Both of my battery port lids wiggle around in place more than I’d like, and I’m hoping they don’t fall out or break. Otherwise, these are made with quality.
If you’re looking for accessories to get for your new Oculus, these grips are a must have.
I love these controller grips and the easy battery access. The elastic is nice in that has some flexibility. I had problems with the elastics breaking. The elastic would just slide out of the metal crimp with little resistance even just gently pulling. I messaged AMVR via Amazon messaging and AMVR sent me replacements very quickly. The new elastics do not have the metal crimp problem so maybe just a bad batch. I also found that small 1 inch diameter hair elastics work well as a replacement for the included elastics if you double them over once to make tighter so approximately half inch diameter (also stronger I’m sure). Photos shows using with hair elastic without metal doubled over instead of stock elastic with metal crimp.
I really like the way it secures my hands to the controllers even in the fighting games. Great quality and fast service. I would definatly recomend this product to anyone that is tired of the original strap that comes with the controllers.
These really give you that comfortable feeling while playing for hours. They feel very natural. And they really simplify changing the batteries. You can’t go wrong with these. I don’t have large hands. I wear a size 8 glove and I have about 1 inch of adjustment left.
FYI. Previously I had a set, without the Anti-Throw Strap, that slid over the grip and did not have a battery door. They were a royal pain to change the batteries.
These are a good add-on to your Quest especially if you play action games as the added security of the wide strap is very welcome. Easy to fit and look smart too if slightly coarse at first. You can leave the stock strap on also however I prefer not too as it is just another thing to faff about with when you are visually impaired checking out jellyfish in the Maldives. If I had to choose between a new headset strap or wrist straps I would definitely go for the former as it makes the overall Quest experience much better but I would recommend these too if your budget can stretch to it.
I’d argue that hand/knuckle straps are a must-have for anyone with a Quest 2 as they greatly improve playability, and these straps work very well. Installation was very simple, and it is nice to be able to replace the batteries as needed without removing the straps.
The instructions recommend continuing to use the original wrist straps as well, but after hours of playing with both, the wrist straps felt unnecessary. They just seemed to add an extra step when starting/ending play, and cluttered up the look of my Quest 2 on the Kiwi stand I have. I’ll update my review if I end up throwing/damaging my controllers as a result of this.
These straps do not include a silicone grip like many of the competitors. This is part of the reason I got them, as many reviews for other products mentioned that the way the grips attached to the controller blocked some of the sensors and therefore could impede tracking. With that said, a silicone grip would be nice to help prevent the controllers from getting slick or dirty from sweat. I’m just mindful about wiping off the controllers after each play session to keep them from getting gross.
A downside to using this product (and most of its competitors) is that you cannot charge your your controllers with an Anker-style charging station with them installed. This isn’t a problem for me, as I had no intention of buying something like that anyway.
Overall, I recommend this product to anyone looking for hand/knuckle-grips with a minimal look that doesn’t impede tracking.
1) It replaces the battery cover perfectly, so it snaps in place and never moves. The silicone covers I had before this would sometimes move and get misaligned, sometimes blocking the grab button on the side. Since this snaps in place to replace the battery cover, there is no way to get them misaligned and it’s as if they aren’t even there. It’s perfect.
2) Silicone covers add to the overall size of controllers. These keep the controller handles exactly the same size as they came from the factory, so it is much more comfortable to hold and reach the buttons as they were intended.
3) The strap is attached at the top with an elastic string (which others have complained about) but that makes these much easier to pick up and put down the controllers without ever having to adjust the straps and unlatch the velcro to resize them. It also keeps the straps perfectly snug against the back of my hand.
4) The battery compartment is easily accessible without having to remove the straps. It was a pain to remove the old silicone grip covers every time I needed to change the batteries. Now it is an easy job changing the batteries.
I wouldn’t use any other cover, and I can’t think of a single thing I would change with these straps.
I love these, if you can see in the video my controller is all smudged because I threw it on accident and decided to get these. It’s great when your playing scary games and accidentally throw your controller this happened to me when I was playing five nights at Freddy’s. And it’s easy taking out the battery to. 10/10
AMVR nailed it with this design. The knuckle strap finally feels good. I can let go of the controller comfortably and not have to make a weird movement to reposition the controller to grip it again. Also, accessing the door is a breeze. I’m a little worried that the mechanism they’re using to open the battery door will fail over time, as I’ve seen those style of gap locks break, but also using the battery door to hold the cover in place while playing is slick (there’s an arm on the battery door that locks the grips in place – just make sure to remove the battery cover before you install the grips as mentioned in the item description)!
I’ve tried several designs of these knuckle straps and this is by far the BEST one out there. I still have a VR Wave set and just like the other ones I’ve tried that wrap around the tracking ring (VR Wave, Orzero, and an earlier AMVR design), using the tracking ring as an anchor point makes the knuckle strap feel weird and unnatural. The upper contact point didn’t allow my hand to naturally be positioned to take hold of the controller again. On top of that, all of those cover the handle and make accessing the battery a pain. This updated design does not have those problems AT ALL!
Bottom line: if you’re looking for a better Quest 2 controller strap, this is it!
These grips are great. They come with extra elastic ring (Just in case you snap them). They are comfortable and very adjustable. Carful not to make them too tight.
I was looking for grip for my new quest 2 for HOURS and reading multiple reviews before landing on these. They do not block any sensor on the controllers, have a easy battery door for when you need to replace it, AND fit into the original oculus traveling case.
These should be the grips you buy. Period
I looked at a lot of options before deciding on these and I couldn’t be happier. A great design unlike any others I saw. Comfortable, secure, and totally unobtrusive. The little battery door is just a bonus feature!
They are a comfortable product don’t get me wrong but the fact they have to use rubber bands makes the product not the bes
I have no fear that the controller will fly out of my hands because the strap keeps your hands snug and in place.
It arrived on time and nothing was broken. I’ll add an update later if anything major happens but so far I’ve been using them since the beginning of Dec 2021 and they’re solid. If you wanted to change out the strap you can.
These are far cheaper than the other solutions that add a bulky case around the controller, these add straps in a sturdy way for a fraction of the cost and in a very ingenious way. The small battery door that is added into the main replacement panel has a stopper, that when placed on the panel prevents the panel from sliding out during those hard throws. Really clever and sturdy design ensuring you don’t send a controller through a tv any time soon.
These are by far the best controller grips I’ve been able to use. My previous grips were good but I didn’t like how you had to take them off when you needed to replace the batteries. With these you don’t have to! They replace the battery cover and also have a removable opening to change the batteries when needed.
Pros:
easy install
Replaces stock battery cover
Very snug and comfortable on hand.
Cons:
Bit more of a chore to remove and find the old covers if you don’t want to always have them on there.
I put it on the same day I receive it. Very easy installation and I tried changing out batteries and it’s a breeze. The only drawback is the strap is a bit stiff and rub against the back of my hands (and I have small hands!). The only way to avoid rubbing is to tighten them so they don’t move, which can be uncomfortable on long plays. If they could improve on the strap material, would be a 5 star for me. I’ll keep using them for now.
Product very easy to setup. Quick access to battery compartment. Strap is soft and comfortable.
Feels great, fits my big hands, and actually looks like it should be part of the handset, unlike most of the knuckle-strap attachments. My set are a couple of months old, with no issues, and I’ve just bought a second as a christmas present.
The grips come with knuckle straps and elastic bands that hold on the straps and it also comes with spare elastics bands. They feel really nice on, and with the knuckle straps, the controller does not let go. You can tighten the straps to fit your hands to make it most comfortable for you, and they are really comfortable to wear. The only thing that would improve them is some top covers to protect the tops of the controller rings, so you don’t bang the sides, and the battery cover door makes it much easier to replace the batteries, but overall I have found them to be very good and well made.
Thanks.
Really comfortable and adjustable. I use an ANKER dock, so I have to remove the battery case and switch back every few days to charge, so having to remove the little door AND the battery cover each time does get annoying, so I hope AMVR will make an anker compatible version which just needs the metal plates and charge points added.
Controller straps are one of the must have accessories for the Quest 2, especially when playing games that involving throwing something in VR or games like Beat Saber.
When I got my own Quest 2, I chose the AMVR controller straps instead of getting ones like my husband has. These straps were the perfect choice since they don’t add any bulk to the controllers making easy for me to reach all the buttons with my smaller hands. Being able to easily access and replace the batteries is another big plus. I also like that these don’t have a Velcro piece that goes around the controller halo to keep the straps in place. Adjustments can be done quickly.
Overall, I believe these are the best controller straps currently available for the Quest 2.
I was concerned since it seemed to be something that had few reviews but these have worked great for me, they have never once popped off while swinging my hands and arms plus have a great comfortable grip against my hands.
Great product, quick delivery, perfect for when your hands are tired. Recomend to anyone.
If you find the controllers comfortable but would like a knuckle strap to improve the playing experience you need to look no further. Their simplicity is a big part of their appeal and if you have an official case these ones will fit just as well as pre modification.
If you have large hands you will have to extend the Velcro to almost the end but they still hold well. The battery is very easy to access with the new little cover but you can still access the battery the usual way. These grips simply replace the original battery cover adding a connection for the leather strap top and bottom. The top fitting is elastic which helps the overall comfort. They are well made and match the original look.
I have tried other knuckle grips, they tend to add to the bulk, some make the battery hard to change and in some cases the way they connect on the trigger side covers a couple of the LEDs used for tracking. Most don’t report problems but it’s probably better to have all the LEDs working as designed.
Recommended product to improve the original controllers.
Not making the handle thicker, no need to add an extra layer of silica surface, and has a nice angle to bind with hands
Definitely recommend
One gripe I had about other knuckle strap covers for the quest 2 was the bulk they added and to me made the controller look like some weird Madcatz controller or something. This one replaces the battery cover of the quest 2 controllers so its really slick. Don’t worry about this thing coming off too. The battery door uses the dead space in the battery compartment to hook onto the controller so you physically can’t remove slide the thing off until you remove the battery door first. The leather also makes this extremely comfortable in the hands so I could easily wear the controllers for hours. Ingenious.
With these new Hand Grip Straps for Oculus Quest 2 AMVR solves these problems and more.
Unlike the Touch Controller Grip Covers, the new Hand Grip Straps do not slip over the bottom of your controller. Instead, the Hand Grip Straps use a plastic cover that replaces the Quest controller’s stock battery cover. This cover has attachment points for a leather and velcro strap and fits the Quest controller perfectly. The cover has a secure, removable door allowing easy access to the battery when the need arises. The materials are high quality with excellent fit and finish. With these grips installed, the controllers are just as slim as stock with a clean, minimal design that could have come straight from Oculus. They feel great in the hand and best of all, fit perfectly in the stock Quest 2 Battery Strap Case.
How are they in actual use? In a word – fantastic! The leather straps are far more secure than the rubberized elastic straps of the previous model and the grip feels far more natural. One of the issues I had with the previous grips is that they felt like my hand was always riding a bit too high on the controller, no matter how I adjusted them. These feel just right. The straps themselves are durable and I expect them to last much longer than the previous rubberized elastic straps. Finally, the biggest pain point of the previous grips was battery changing. This is now completely solved.
Bottom line – These are the grips you want. If you’re new to Quest 2, put them at the top of your accessory list. If you have the older grips, get them, you won’t be sorry.
