Notes
This hub can not support 4K@60Hz display with Surface Pro 7 / 930QCG / Spectre X360 laptops since they are not compatible with Display Stream Compression (DSC).
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. When I connect to 2 monitors, why do both monitors show the same image?
When connected to dual monitors, devices running macOS only support screen mirroring. Windows supports both Single-Stream Transport (SST) and Multi-Stream Transport (MST) mode. macOS and iPadOS only support Single-Stream Transport (SST) mode.
2. How can this hub achieve 85W Power Delivery charging?
To get 85W charging, use a USB-C wall charger and a USB-C to C cable that both support 100W PD charging.
3. Does the USB-C Power Delivery port support charging for tablets (including iPad Pro) or phones?
Due to the power input limitations of mobile devices, this hub can not provide pass-through charging to tablets (including iPad Pro) or phones when using the original wall charger that came with your mobile device. To support full-speed charging for iPad Pro, use an adapter that supports at least 15V (45W).
4. Why can’t my HDMI resolution reach 4K@60Hz?
The HDMI port supports a variety of resolutions up to 4K@60Hz, including 1080p, 1080i, 720p, and 480p.
1) Single monitor: 4K@60Hz if your device supports DP 1.4; 4K@30Hz if your device supports DP 1.2
2) Dual monitor: 4K@30Hz if your device supports DP 1.4; 1080p@60Hz
if your device supports DP 1.2 Below are some devices that support DP 1.4:
MacBook Pro 15” 2018 / 2019 / 2020
MacBook Pro 16” 2019 / 2020
iPad Pro 2018 / 2019 / 2020 (Only iPad Pros with iPadOS are compatible)
5. Does this hub get hot?
When this hub is fully loaded, it may reach a surface temperature of around 131°F. However, this is normal for products of this kind.

I was struggling to get my dual monitors to work for my wfh set up. I did some research and bought this. It works like a charm. Would highly recommend i
This is my second USB Hub of the same type/model, really one of the best out there for the price. I use my two for HDMI connection mainly running two monitors – 2 x input cables. Certainly recommended if you travel a lot or work remotely in different places.
The host cable could be a little longer but that’s just for my personal preference as it lives on my desk.
Great gadget. Even better as I got it on a sale.
I know it’s a bit pricey but worth it! I have purchased cheaper ones before which don’t work. This is the best one and i have been using it for weeks
I purchased this when my work upgraded our computers and my previous at-home dual monitor set-up no longer worked.
At my work office, I plug in my work laptop (a Dell Latitude 5400) into a Dell-branded docking station that is around $350.
My work told me that I could buy one of the very pricey Dell docks for my work-from-home set up on my own dime, so I looked at other options. I purchased this hub on sale for about $70, and I have been incredibly pleased with jt. The only thing it does not do is charge my laptop through the hub, but my laptop has a separate charging connection, so I just plug in the power cord and then plug this hub into the USB-C port. It works great as a dual monitor display. I’ve been using it for well over a year of almost daily use without issues. Definitely recommend, it’s a great deal and high quality!
Over the product works as it should. but it doesnt output two 4k hdmi outputs. I have (2x) 1440p monitors which is much smaller than (2x) 4k monitors. I am assume its a bandwitch limitation. it does support one monitor at 4k and the second monitor at 720p. you could probably do (2x) 1080p monitors just fine. Over a decent product. just does not fit my usage. so i’ll be returning it in exchange for the much cheaper model that only offers one hdmi port. Gotta save that $$
I love Anker power bricks and figured that same quality would be on their other products. However, this adapter has a major issue. When connected to my HP laptop the network adapter will connect for several minutes them disconnect, connect again then disconnect several minutes. So if you need a network adapter on your USB C dock then I cannot recommend this product.
Update: Anker Support provided the link for the Realtek drivers needed to get the network adapter working correctly. After installing the drivers I havent had any other issues!
Very good product. This little guy has been very reliable and useful as it allows me to run 2 external monitors and internet via the ethernet port AND my 2 usb perhipherals all at the same time. This thing is worth the money.
A few notes:
It does get hot if you have a lot plugged into it. Never gets dangerous though. I recommend not using this in a hot room or on a surface that can easily be damaged by warmth over time. I rest mine on a folded paper towel and use it in a room with AC.
Also, you may have trouble with this device getting recognized at first but this could just be that your pc has not set up the drivers yet. Give it a few tries, connect everything and reboot a couple times just don’t expect it to work immediately. Since mine started working it has never failed me.
Don’t expect to get the same display capabilities in MacOS vs Windows. This product works best with Windows in my opinion, due to you being able to run 2 separate displays plus your laptop screen without mirroring any of them.
UPDATE – Anker support was great, troubleshooted the issue and sent me to update a driver, which resolved the issue.
I’m leaving my original review below in case someone has the same issue.
Original review [resolved]: It works most of the time, except when doing a video conference. While connected through ethernet cable on the hub, EVERY time within 10/12 minutes of starting the meeting (Google meet), I will suddenly loose all network access (unplugging/replugging won’t help). It took 2 or 3 calls to realize it was the hub. I have a feeling it overheats (I’m in an air conditioned office though). Doing the same meeting from wifi (I unplug the Ethernet port of the hub first) does the trick. If you do a lot of TC… stay away.. (or keep your meetings to less than 10 minutes)
Pros
The build quality is great. The design is simple but professional. The range of ports is great so this is a must have product for photographers, graphic designers and videographers. I’ve used this hundreds of times and would struggle to do content creation without this.
Cons
The USB C input doesn’t allow as much power as I would like. When I connect an official Apple USB C cable to charge my M1 Macbook Air, it doesn’t charge as quickly as I would like. Also, the USB C cable doesn’t work for data transfer. I’ve tried plugging in external SSD’s from two different brands and my Macbook won’t recognize them. It’s a shame because the USB C port has let down this product.
Got this for use with a Asus G14 (6800HS / 6800S). This laptop has 2 USB C ports, one supports PD up to 100w the other linked to the dedicated graphics supports DP 1.4. For me the hubs HDMI connectors only worked when connected to the DP USB socket and PD charging only works with the PD USB socket, so annoyingly I still need to use a separate charger connection.
I have another single HDMI hub that works with either port although I don’t think it uses the same DP connectivity that is necessary to drive 2 ports. I think these limitations effect all USB C hubs and there aren’t many 4K@60hz / dual screen options to choose from. Have always found Anker to be reliable but read the specs carefully as USB / PD / 4K standards can be a minefield.
I’ve been using it for about 1 month, the product is generally successful. I bought it for M1 Macbook Pro and I use it without any problems. The HDMI monitor connection may have problems recovering when the screen protection works, it may also be caused by the monitor.
Wanted to run two monitors alongside my laptop this does the job perfectly also give me more USB sockets brillia
Got this to update working from home situation. Chose ANKER as I have several wireless chargers through my house and usb hubs for my PS4 and laptop to add headsets, mice and keyboards.
Works perfectly, straight out the box I have my mouse, keyboard and head connected, two additional displays using both hdmi ports. No configuration required, just working as required right away.
I can see the price tag being a little too high for some, considering other devices with same functionality can be found cheaper, but I trust ANKER products and quality, so compared to big well known names at 000’s , this felt a good option.
(I also love the carry pouch for portability!)
I’m not gonna lie if you check my past purchases. Most of it is all Anker. My review is probably biased, but I still wanted to write one anyway.
I have an HP Laptop with 1 HDMI port, 3 USB ports and 2 USB-C ports. I wasn’t the one that picked it out. It was my boss, and the one thing I hate the most about my laptop is the darn thing doesn’t have an ethernet port.
After digging for a simple USB hub that has an ethernet adapter, another thing I realized that would be a bonus was a USB-C port power pass-through. That way, I can pick up a travel charger leave my charger at the office.
Anyways Pros:
– Ethernet port
– 2 HDMI Adapters (works great for dual-screen, or using the laptop as 3rd monitor)
– USB ports work great
CONS
– I don’t need all of these stupid card readers. I wished there were more USB adapters, preferably USB3.0 and not more USB C’s
very good product – reliable brand
perfect to connect my monitors and charge laptop
I did a lot of research before biting the bullet to purchase this one when there were similar, cheaper options available.
My decision to go with Anker was because they produce reliable products which work without any issues. I own several of their products and have never had a fault develop so decided to pay extra and went for it.
The hub stays cool despite having two monitors plugged into it continously which was an area of concern for me with reviews I had read for competing products.
One thing to note is that only one monitor will be able to run at 75 hertz while the other will be limited to 60 hertz but I am ok with that.
The device has plenty of ports so is scalable for future purchases which is great.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone reading this review and wondering if they should go for it.
happy with all of it does whatsit sayd …and easy now ot plug the laptop in desk and off one cable does it all
This is an excellent hub, allowing use of multiple monitors, PD charging and all the extras, Network port, etc. I had an issue with mine and Anker swapped it out quickly. Thanks for the help. A good product from a good company. I have their headphones and other peripherals too. They also make the best charging cables on the planet. A++
On a Dell XPS, only charger I found with 2 HDMI and 2 USB ports that had decent reviews, the USB-C port is a nice bonus as was the power delivery, however when I plug the normal charger supplied with the XPS into the USB-C on the Anker Hub the laptop doesn’t charge. Another review said it’s because the standard charger doesn’t output enough power as the hub itelf takes 15W to run. Bit of a shame but not a deal breaker as it was the 2 HDMI for two large monitors and 2 normal USB ports I needed for mouse and keyboard.
Great product and customer service from Anker – you won’t be disappointed
This is a great little hub, used to upgrade my home office setup.
I currently use the HDMI, Ethernet, PD Passthrough and USB ports and they have performed flawlessly.
I tested the data transfer speed of Ethernet with both this and direct into my Mac and there was no loss of performance through the hub.
For those with a MacBook Pro running an M1 chip, it is absolutely fine as that is my personal computer and my work the same but with Intel which is also fine, no problems with either at all.
For those wondering regarding how hot it runs, yes it does get warm (as would be expected) but nothing remarkable and certainly not too hot to touch (far from it).
Would I buy again, absolutely yes and without hesitation. It is well built, backed by the Anker name and simply does what it says on the tin (or box).
Bought for a Surface 4 laptop which only has the 1 USBC port. I was worried this might not manage to power x2 HDMI displays however I was wrong, everything was plug and play and I am running x2 1080 monitors via HDMI and also the surface screen as a 3rd.
Powerful USB-C hub that is perfect for my laptop that lacks ethernet and HDMI ports. Having tested this hub, I’m able to connect x2 external monitors via HDMI at the same time. I honestly struggled to find helpful info online regarding USB-C hubs that would enable this, but glad to say that this Anker hub did the job! Also comes with a handy pouch for transporting FYI.
After buying an unknown brand as a cheaper alternative that just didn’t work smoothly the anker dual hdmi usb c hub works well without issues.
Great product, simply works !
Solved my problem to connect two monitors with my ultrabook with usb c port only
Slightly pricey, but worth the bucks.
Very convenient and does exactly what I need which is to be a work docking station, Outputs 2 HDMI.
I did notice the laptop warned me of slow charging, with the setup shown in the picture, but even then it’s pretty quick, very happy with the product.
Cam be really hot and sometimes makes some of my monitors blinking
The HDMI lost signal intermitently, but after i restarted the computer the signal was solid and improved
We bought this as my wife’s company laptop would not allow drivers to be installed and as such the Targus docking station would not work, right out of the box this unit worked, another brilliant solution from Anke
I bought this for my new MacBook Air M1, and I’ve got to say it’s an impressive little gadget. It gives me all the connectivity options I need and a whole lot more. It might be a little pricey compared to some options out there, but it’s well worth the investment.
With this adapter I am able to connect two hdmi displays to my windows 10 laptop. It worked with no issues. Very satisfied with the result.
The Anker brand is well made and would highly recommend
I have previously bought both Dell and Hp versions of this for nearly 200 each only to have driver issues and reliability issues. This time I thought I’d give The Anker USB C Hub a try, I was suprised at how compact it was when I unboxed it and by its build quality.
Setup was a breeze, literally plug and play, I bought this specifically to run two monitors (extended desktop) from a Hp laptop via the display ports which this device does perfectly
This hub is plug and play and adds a nice chunk of versatility to my laptop, would buy again!
Pop the dock into the USB-C slot, plug the laptop charger into the dock and boom, laptop charges, dual screens work fine and I can plug my keyboard and mouse into the dock as well so when I need to move I just unplug the dock.
My only complaint is that the docks cord is very short and, no pun intended, a few more inches never hurt anyone! I find once you get things plugged in the cords plugged into the dock are touching/on the laptop and you can’t move the dock around much.
Still, this is awesome and you can almost buy 4 of them vs the brand name dock that my laptop vendor is selling.
This is a great product for anyone not looking to fork out the steep money to get adapters for their Mac laptops. Anker is a great brand that I’ve went with for a few pieces or tech and have yet to be disappointed
Great product. Use it like a dock to connect my external monitor to my laptop. Didnt realise I can even charge my laptop through this. So happy days
Thanks to Anker support for sorting me out!
using it on a chromebook, 2 monitors and usb’s works perfect, the only drawback, is the length of the cord to plug into the Chromebook, I like to hide things and out of the way, this makes it impossible, so I had to spend an additional $18 on a USB-C extension so I can hide it.. as the 3″ was just not cutting it in my book.. big fail on there part for this. but now its all tucked away and works without issue
Nicely made product. Used it with two external hard drives
Bought this for occasional use with a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. Have only had it a few weeks but it has worked fine so far and I’m happy with the purchase.
Brilliant device so far (heavy use over 2 weeks as of this review). To get power to the hub and in turn charge your device requires a 100w charger, which can be expensive.
It all works and the transfer speeds live up to the claimed specs. OK, it’s a plastic case, rather than aluminium, but it’s a lot less money than this level of functionality would be with an all case.
Looks well made has a power light, all seems to work well so far. Had a few hubs, this seems like a good one
Bought to incorporate 2 screens via USB-C, working perfectly. Nice design and takes up little space
I like the design and overall feel of the product . Anker had good service and response when I had an issue with the device they gave me a replacement within a week of sending .
The rating would’ve been perfect of the product itself was perfect from the beginning but the quick and great customer service clutched it to 4 stars
Works a treat, with dual monitors, GbE, and USB-A ports all in use. Great product!
I got a new Dell G5 Gaming laptop from work and the docking station for my previous laptop didn’t work with it (power issues – the new laptop had a 230w power brick). Desperate to use my 2 1440p screens when I work from home I spotted this Anker USB-C hub.
It just works. 1 USB-C cable into the laptop, 2 screens , a network cable and my mouse/keyboard plugged into the hub and it works flawlessly.
I’ve been quite a fan of Anker products for a while now, I have a number of their Powerports around the house powering USB items (Raspberry Pis, phones/ tablets etc) and they are my first choice for USB cables. I’m happy to say this product matches my expectations from what I consider a quality brand.
I needed a dock connected to my laptop’s USB-C port for power delivery, USB keyboard and mouse and 2 external full HD monitor (1920×1080/60Hz), and I got them all! Also, I sometimes need to save CCTV footage (30-100 GB) from SD cards, and as the dock has a built-in reader, I tested it, too. You can get about 70MB/s copy speed (if you have fast enough SD cards) which is about 50 times faster than what I had with my old USB 2.0 external card reader. Cool.
Another well built product by Anker, works great with my multi-monitor work set up.
Very happy with this hub allows me to use my two monitors with my dell laptop. Making working from home much more manageable
The product itself is great, well built and has a nice feel to it. Although, I did have an issue initially where one of the HDMI ports was faulty, making the monitor appear pixelated/bleed. I reported this back to Anker and they swiftly arranged a replacement and their customer service was spot on through out.
This little device greatly expands what can be connected to that laptop with its sleek minimalist design and maybe only ONE USB-C port, tricky if you want to connect to an external monitor or TV, use an older USB device, or to an SD card. It will work with laptops that have a case. Even comes with a little fabric bag. Recommended
It’s a good hub. Pretty goog build quality, good portability.
I got this because I needed more slots than my computer offered. Everything works quite well, but my external monitor won’t wake if the computer goes into sleep (it does from hibernation, so it might not be this hub that is causing the problem.)
Extra USB slots are super useful, as is the SD card slot. I bought this model specifically so that I can add a second external monitor.
Very happy
Amazing bit of kit. Premium feel and works perfectly for a third of the price of some
Worked easily, extended the laptop (Windows) display to two additional screens with no issues (using 1920×1080 @ 60Hz – although windows show the displays on the hub running at 59Hz). Power pass through/USB 3 ports and network connection make it quick and easy to plug a laptop in and use like a desktop.
Finding usb-c hubs that support multiple monitors for a reasonable price is unreasonably tricky, and since I bought laptops that only had usb-c (and not separate hdmi), I’d searched high and low for how to connect 2 monitors (frustrating when the much older one it replaced had hdmi and mini-dp so just worked) but trust Anker.
My two monitors (2560×1440 and 1920×1080) both worked with both my laptops (hp envy 13 2019, surface go 2 m3), both of which are usb-c and not thunderbolt. Yet to try with my work laptop but that has thunderbolt so I am less concerned.
I have a separate usb3 hub from Anker which is now daisychained so everything runs from one port.
Next step for me will be getting a PD charger. Only slight negative is I can’t find the Anker 100w one is not on Amazon UK and getting the righ
