After a wave of recent neighbour break ins, it’s come to a the time whereby I need CCTV. I’ve installed many a HikVision setup and went about looking for a similar system. I stumbled across Annke and was pleasantly surprised by the cost.

First thoughts, this can’t be right, a 4 camera (upgradable to 8), an NVR with a hard drive built in for less than 500 – Something must be a miss?

After researching a bit more, it turns out that Annke are HikVision rebranded. More about this later, but having found this little gem of information, I took the plunge and pressed the Buy button.

Cameras and NVR arrived, very well packaged. After unboxing my immediate thought was, urrrgh, grey cables, so purchased a 100mtr box of black network cable, some RJ45 ends and a crimp tool. Bare in mind, you don’t need these extra items, just a personal choice as I prefer black cables over grey, but I’ll leave that choice with you.

Cameras are very, very easy to mount, in the box you get all the fixings, a sticky template and full instructions on how to set the cameras up.

These cameras are POE (power over ethernet) which comes from the NVR so no requirement for any extra equipment. I should add, one camera I set up at the bottom of my garden, on a bridged connection with another router, so for this I did need a POE injector, but you likely won’t need that, but just in case you do, it’s worth noting these cameras work off POE injectors should you find yourself having a set up like mine.

Once all connected, the NVR and cameras show up on my network as HikVision units (using the Fing app), so they are definitely HikVision rebranded units.

The NVR has a wizard for setup is again very, very easy and even guides you through getting the AnnkeVision app on your mobile device. There is also a desktop app, which again works flawlessly as well as the ability to log in using your favorite browser.

Once that’s all done (follow the instructions to the letter and you can’t go wrong) – you have your cameras show up on the screen, on your mobile app and on the browser.

Believe me, the 4K images are outstanding, really clear and crisp with 2 options on the mobile app, Basic and HD – Even basic is good, but HD, crikey I was blown away.

Playback on the NVR is again really good, clear, crisp and fast.

I’ll be honest, for the price, I wasn’t expecting something this good, this easy to set up and with the picture quality, I really don’t have anything to complain about.

My neighbours have a HikVision setup and they are now considering switching to Annke 4K, same as mine as the picture difference is just too good to miss.

One, and only one issue I’ve had is the amount of DNS requests the NVR makes to devlog.ys7.com of which I’ve been in touch with Annke support. It’s nothing to worry about as the exact same issue was reported to HikVision and they fixed this with a firmware update. Support has been extremely helpful and I hope to have a review update once this is resolved.

Overall, amazing camera system for the money, I’ll be adding more cameras as required, great value for money, superb images, video recording is flawless as is playback.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat camera during the day, I cannot fault the clarity however I need this to work at night and the night vision is awful as it does the seal the light from the dome and you end up with glare, very disappointing. Now uninstalled and back in the box to return.

    ight vision awful

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is for the C800 I91BN dome camera with the built-in microphone. It is another OEM Hikvision device from Annke.

It is a solid and robust camera, particularly suitable for outside locations that may be subject to vandalism.

The top dome part of the housing is secured using Torx screws and an opening tool is included with the camera. The memory card slot is also accessed by removing this upper part of the housing.

Interestingly there is a small elastic bungee inside that tethers the top and bottom parts of the housing together – very useful to stop you dropping the dome, particularly if working at an awkward height or location.

There is however one very important thing to note – this camera does NOT support H.264 or H.264+. For whatever reason you can only select H.265 or H.265+ in the software menu, unlike it’s Hikvision equivalent. So, do not get this if you need H.264.

Solid camera but do not get if you need H.264

Fantastic camera, could not fault a thing. Granted other cameras probably have the same tech inside and so the same stuff But where this camera excels is with Annke themselves, the support is phenomenal, I did have a set up issue, they tried to help via email, but my problem persisted, so they offered a time to remote in and fix it for me. Couldn’t ask for a better service!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat quality camera and image. Working well in ONVIF mode on my Synology system. Full 3840×2160 quality (12fps) with audio. I’m used to HikVision and this felt just like one, but at a lower cost.

The ANNKE 4K(8MP) IP Dome camera has a cristal clear picture, it’s suitable for outdoor installation, and work so well with my already installed NVR. The quality of the image is obviously better compaeing to my other 4MP cameras. The camera is easy to install and configure.
I will buy a few more when my new shop open.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent product. Easy setup and able to access from tablet and phone. Great day and night images.
Everything you need comes with it (excluding hard drive in this option). I bought and installed a Seagate 2tb hard drive, this system does provide connections, leads, and space for two hard drives, which is a great option. The POE cables were plenty long enough for me, one camera is located at one corner of the house and the NVR in the opposite corner. There are lots of videos and advice online to help if you have questions or issues, I’m still playing around with the numerous setting, but really enjoy having the system.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAwesome product!! can’t fault it. one comment though is that the mobile app could be better. it has a poor interface and DDNS can be tricky if you don’t have idea about networking.
