These are really good quality and feeling like they should cost more, it’s early days so take will tell how the non stick remains, only thing that I don’t like is the steel handles do get hotter than I would expect.
This set was bought for my son. We have these same pots at home and have had for nearly 20 years. Worth the money. Still looking good.
Great pans and feel solid without being too heavy.
Non stick is easy to clean and handle does not get hot.
Good you can put them in the oven as well.
I am very happy with these saucepans they are excellent quality and they wash up well, I am happy that I bought them.
As others have mentioned, the pans are thinner than the older versions they have replaced. Also the milk pan has lower sides than the original milk pan. The reduced metal thickness means that the pans are less heavy, which is an advantage for anyone with weak hands or wrists. Hopefully they will last as well as the previous pans did. The lid handles do get too hot to handle without a cloth or oven glove. This happens slightly earlier than with the previous set of Anolon pans. The lighter pans do present a slight issue especially with the frying pan as it moves about on the trivet on my gas hob very easily when stirring or turning food. The older, heavier pan stayed put.
This has been the second set of Anolon Professional Saucepans. The first one lasted 16 years !!!!
Excellent pot set and far better than previous sets purchased. Great to cook with and very easy to clean.
These are excellent quality. Very well made, sturdy, and heats really well. Great they came with glass lids with no cheap plastic. Some reviews say the handles, because there metal, get too hot to touch I didn’t really notice I bought handle sleeves in Amazon for 12 bucks just in case but hasn’t been an issue. Non sticks surfaces make cooking sauces and soups a less painful task. The lipped sauce pan is a great addition to the set. Gave 5 stars because I really have have no complaints.
Absolutely love these pans! Got them to replace our Le Creuset set as I found them far too bulky and not the easiest to clean. These are, in my opinion, much better! They cook really well, even the frying pan! They take no time to clean and look really smart. I’m very impressed with them.
The product is wonderful. It took a month from the date ordered to receive them. That was my only problem.
3 Pan set. I concur with a review by CJ posted 5th July 2020. The manufacturing process for these pans has been somewhat donwgraded, I suppose to keep the price comptetive. These were bought to replace the same pans which are probably 15 yrs old and still in a decent condition but the bottom/ inside of the pans are starting to lose their non stick ability.
The new pans are a lot lighter in weight. They are thinner at the lip. The steel handles are also made of a thinner steel.
16cm old pan, no lid 843gm
16cm new pan, no lid 632gm
18cm old pan, no lid 1037gm
18cm new pan, no lid 780gm
The lids are approximately the same weight, new to old.
The thickness of the top edge of the pans have reduced from 3.6 to 3.1mm.
The thickness of the steel the handles are made from has reduced from 2mm to 1.5mm.
Not sure they will live as long as the old pans but having only used the 16cm pan, they do seem to cook ok. Would probably look for an alternative next time, if they require replacing!
I bought two sets of these pans after using my daughter’s for a few days as mine are almost the same. They are fantastic! Even when I left one on slightly too long the burnt food slipped off with a quick wash in soapy water. Retains heat well and handles stay cool
Only one drawback. The handles of the pan lids are much to hot to handle and require the use of a cloth to lift them. Bad design I think. My daughters pan lids don’t suffer this drawback.
I have had a set of these for 13 years, and although the glass lids have discoloured – due to my dishwasher – they are still excellent pans; I have an Aga, and they withstand the hot ovens no problem.
Easy to keep clean, look good and last forever if treated right.
I’ve had two Meyer Tensyl anodised steel pans for over 20 years. The stainless steel pans I had haven’t lasted as long as the anodised steel ones so I’ve replaced them with these. Anolon pans. They are not heavy to hold even when full of water, cook food evenly and look good in my kitchen.
Bought these knowing they arent dishwasher safe despite claims. I dont mind hand washing them because dirt falls off. Ive never spent this much on pans, but its clear the price reflects the quality.
The only minus point is that glass lid gets really hot, I think the lack of a vent is the reason for this.
First of all, the claims that this set is a) metal utensil safe and b) dishwasher safe are completely incorrect. Read the instructions that come with the pans, DO NOT trust the product description.
I’ve owned a very similar set to this, a 16cm, 18cm and 20cm saucepan, small frying pan and a stir fry pan for just over 10 years, and they’re still amazing to this day. I admit I don’t cook every day, but they’ve seen plenty of use (particularly the small pan and the frying pan). The only additional items I have are a Le Creuset Cast iron frying pan and Dutch oven, a roasting tray, and a stock pot, and I’ve found that I’ve never needed anything else. They’re still as non-stick and easy to clean as ever, although I can see one or two scuffs where I assume housemates have used a fork here and there. The outside does tend to pick up marks from stuff like boiled over pasta water and things like that, and it’s quite a grippy texture, but they still look good to me.
I’m still really grateful to have had these pans so long – a friend bought a similar set just after I did after seeing mine, and his are still going strong too. I doubt they’ll last forever, but as long as you take care and follow their directions, I can attest you’ll get at least 10 years out of them.
Way better than the Teflon ones I bought many times before. Don’t get me wrong, Teflon offer great pans in the mid price range. But a year ago I needed a good frying pan so upgraded to a le creuset. It looked good, was fairly pricey but the surface didn’t last at all. I was so frustrated. Then a friend recommended Anolon. That frying pan is the best I’ve ever had and roughly the same price as Teflon, with the added bonus of being made completely of metal so can be safely put under their grill too.
Long story short, this experience steered me towards this set of pans. Excellent.
This is our 2nd set of Anolon cookware. The previous one was starting to wear after 13 years. (And we paid double this then) We love it so much, we bought it again. Difficult things such as oatmeal and scrambled eggs come right out with little or no effort. We bought a less expensive set for our son to take to uni and the difference was night and day so, we got him Anolon now as well.
The only downside is the lack of silicone on the handles and lids. They can get a bit hot! “Ovgloves” or silicon sleeves are good for that.
A nice saucepan set, but let down by the handles getting hot.
They are easy to clean, but not the type to throw in the sink, as easy to scratch.
Invest in silicone utensils if you don’t already have, as these are needed to protect the non stick interior.
These are lightweight non stick pans that have proved to be quite durable over several months of constant use. The non-stick works well and being hard anodised is likely to last well in the longer term. Note that these cannot be used on induction hobs since they do not have an aluminium base. On the plus side that means they heat up very quickly. The lid fits well on the examples I had and they were easy to drain. So far the non-stick surface is still intact albeit I deliberately don’t use metal implements when stirring or scouring pads when washing.
Replacing identical pots we had for 20 years. The old pots lost their outer coat due to years of dishwashing but were still perfectly good on the inside. We have gifted old pots to grateful recipients. Excellent product.
These are excellent pans that work well on our gas hob. We’ve been washing them in the dishwasher with no visible degradation. They’re well-designed and the handles on the lids are high enough not to get too hot when they’re in use (although I’d still recommend using a tea towel to be safe). The pans are light and easy to handle, and the non-stick coating has lasted well. We store them inside each other and they are very hard-wearing, not having been damaged in months.
These are proper pans and will last you years. I recently purchased what I believed to be the same as I bought ten years ago, sanctioned by Raymond Blanc. Wrong. I have reviewed Raymond Blanc pans separately and it’s not good reading. These are proper Anolon hard anodised pans and will last ten years of good use. Treat them with care using wooden utensils and hand wash and they will give you limitless use. These are advertised as dishwasher proof but I personally would not do that. You would never consider putting a Wusthof knife in a dishwasher so why a quality pan? These are the best in my opinion and they are in constant use every day.
Thi is a set of 3 pans, each with a glass lid and a metal handle, both to the pan, and to the lid. The pans are for gas or electric hobs – they do not work on induction hobs. That said, this is a useful set. The largest pan would be suitable for soups or family sized mashed potato (thinking family as a set of hungry teenage lads…). There is a middle sized pan, suitable for smaller amounts of soup or vegetables, and then a saucepan / milkman.
As a set, they are not designed to stack. The pans would go inside each other, but you can only then stack the smaller two lids; but that is the case for most pan sets.
Weight wise, these are not too heavy at all – and would be therefore a better option for someone with arthritic hands or wrists, for whom heavy pans was an issue.
Recommended – good se
While preparing to compare and rave about Circulon pans as the BEST you can buy and these Anolon not quite up to the mark, it was a surprise to learn only now that both are part of the Meyer Group, so let’s be a bit more forgiving.
No doubt very well made pans with very good riveted handles – always good to see – great non stick and solid bases. They cook very well although glass lids never feel as good as solid ones and a nod to home use. Interesting to see the term “professional” as if that means something to a home cook when Masterchef – if that’s any benchmark – and many professional kitchens will use Circulon pans. So to get to that comparison and depending on which range you buy, Circulon are more durable and cook better than any other homeware brand and certainly beat these Anolon’s, although to be fair not by much and personal taste allowing.
Gas proper cookers need not fear but for other fancy hob tech check compatibility.
What these Anolon’s do do is beat hands down all the celebrity branded ranges that premium price for the endorsement and you bet the celebrity chef in question wouldn’t use in a lifetime in their kitchen. At least these Anolon’s are built to last and do a great job at making you a better cook. Guaranteed.
