I have used some meggers before so comparing with similar unit. This one as soon as you take measurement, it makes crackling noise. It is bit concerning as it sounds like something is not very well made/insulated inside. It works okay, just concerning when you are sending 500V from the crackling box… It just makes you not wanting to touch it.

Ha un buon prezzo. robusto e viene fornito con le pile, i puntali con morsetti a coccodrillo, ha il coperchio di plastica che protegge il frontale e una custodia di tela. C’ anche uno spelafili per incidere i conduttori per fare la misura senza tagliare i cavi. La massima resistenza misurata arriva a 5,5Ghom e la tensione a 1000V che sono pi che sufficienti per usi normali.

Da un po’ di tempo si verificavano dei distacchi dalla rete elettrica. Su suggerimento di un elettricista, abbiamo indagato su alcuni elettrodomestici ricorrendo a questo strumento. Non difficile da usare, sempre che si abbia un minimo di esperienza. Grazie a questo apparecchio siamo risaliti all’origine del guasto. Ci tengo a precisare che sempre meglio ricorrere ad un elettricista ma isolare la causa del problema stato veramente facile (ed economico). Nel nostro caso, dopo aver sostituito una resistenza della lavastoviglie, tornato tutto a posto. Da considerare.
I bought this is pinpoint a fault in an outdoor circuit, which it did perfectly. It has selectable voltages from 100 to 1000V (500V worked for me in this case). It works off AA batteries, with a latching button to start the meggar test. As others have said, the leads and crocodile clips are of good quality with a secure screw in connection – worth the extra few quid over cheaper models when dealing with these kinds f voltages.
Note, that the latching button can easily be switched on my accident – so prior to switching the unit on, it is important to check that the button is out. The test leads are around a metre long, which may be too short if connecting to wiring at a, say, a light switch if you want to place the tester on the ground. These are my only gripes, and are not too significant.

Small and simple to use, used it a few time testing motor and switch gear insulation, it’s accurate for such a low priced item. Nice little box and bag for storage. Great for casual use.
Semplice e funzionale per il costo, manca solo la misura della continuit, ma funziona bene per le prove che son riuscito a faro, ho misurato Isolazione elettrica delle resistenze dei forni.attenzione ho visto che nelledomande chiedono se si possono far misure sui pannelli fotovoltaici, i pannelli all’interno della scatola di collegamento hanno dei diodi by pass , attenzione lo strumento eroga tensione elevata anche se la corrente minima si potrebbero guastare i diodi del pannello

The accuracy of all parameters was well within limits and actually quite impressive: 500v output was 506v and 1000v – 1023v. 1.0m ohm leakage was 998 k ohm.
All measured with a currently specified Fluke multimeter.
Appareil utilis pour effectuer des mesures de mise la terre sur des rsistances de fours encastrables. M’a permis de savoir si il y avait ou non dfaut de terre sur les rsistances. Pas de soucis de fonctionnement, environ une dizaine de mesures avec les piles fournies, piles toujours oprationnelles aprs ces mesures. L’appareil semble bien fonctionner pour ce type de mesures(test terre sous 250v) , mais je ne l’ai pas test sur toutes les fonctionnalits possibles.
Conforme. Facile utiliser. Il faut quand mme tre initi pour l’employer.

Me ha sido muy til para verificar el aislamiento del bobinado de motores elctricos, sin este instrumento no poda detectar algunos cortos.
