Can’t fault the quality of this headset although i had some problems trying to install the firmware updates. Great mixamp equalizer to customize game audio.
I recently bought the ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Wired Gaming Headset, and I’m absolutely loving it! The sound quality is insanely good, and I can pick out every tiny detail in all my games. The soundstage is wide and immersive, and the bass is very punchy and clear. The microphone is also really impressive. It captures my voice really well, even in noisy environments. The A40 TR is also really comfortable, even after long gaming sessions. The ear cups have a great amount of cushioning, and they really isolate sound well.
Overall, the ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Wired Gaming Headset is an awesome piece of gaming gear. It looks great, feels great, and sounds even better. If you’re in the market for a quality gaming headset, I highly recommend this one.
Great sound quality, very comfortable, adjustable volume mixer, changeable parts and very good quality parts. Ideal for gaming.
Headset itself is very clear audio, perfect for warzone once you get the right settings. Not as comfy as my old headset but the audio makes up for this.
The two audio outputs made it possible for me to vary the audio levels of google chrome (for music) without altering any of the other volume levels, which is a great feature. The audio quality is also great, although it doesn’t block out other noises in the room (by design, since openback headphones have better audio quality), so I wouldn’t recommend using them if you plan to use them in a noisy environment.
This headset is great for anyone who plays games I play valorant with them and the sound quality and direction of sound is top tier I would recommend the headset to anyone.

Whilst this is a good entry level to almost high end gaming headsets they sound very tinny when you us the toslink / optical port to a PC that has a good onboard audio chip so I recomend just using the USB and if you want to use your mobo dac / chips get the A50″s

– The in-line mic mute gets triggered multiple times a day just by moving my head around. I have now covered this with uPVC tape as it is uber annoying.
– Although comfortable the headset has a habit of sliding off my head if I look down at something. I didn’t have this issue with other headsets.

Il livello e la qualit del suono sono imparagonabili ad altre cuffie.
Ho atteso un po’ prima di recensire queste cuffie perch volevo vedere se con il tempo le prestazioni calassero. Assolutamente no, anzi il bello arriva quando prendete dimestichezza con i livelli, cos da poter personalizzare il suono a seconda del tipo di gioco e vostre esigenze.
Le ho acquistate durante il black friday pagandole al 50%, e penso che non cambier pi prodotto!
Unica pecca: consiglio di acquistare anche il kit per il padiglione in pelle, l’isolamento acustico maggiore e non crea fastidi alle orecchie a causa del caldo.
After having my steel series headset for 5 years these had a lot to live up to. There’s always a certain expectation for tech priced so much higher than the competition and the A40’s are no exception. I half expected that I would be sending these back after a couple of days and opting for a cheaper setup, but that wasn’t to be. Yes they are expensive compared to the competition, but after a few days using them it becomes clear why.
The comfort is exceptional, even compared to my steel series (which are famed for their comfort) which were great but the Astro’s are just better. I can have these on all day whilst working from home and forget I’m wearing them.
Then there is the sound quality, I can only comment on the mix-amp version, but again, it’s a notable step up from my previous headset. The bass is crisper and more pronounced, the mids are also a step up in quality, but again, for the cost of these headsets this is to be expected.
The only downside to this headset is the price and that for what you pay they are not wireless. I would have paid the extra for the wireless version but for one small detail, which is the mic is not detachable and therefore cannot be replaced. The mic failing was the reason for purchasing these, so the fact the mic is integrated on the A50’s took them out of the running.
So overall, yes, I would recommend these if they fall into your budget, however a pair of steel series arctis 7’s come in significantly cheaper, are wireless and about 80-90% as good. Even then, the added quality and richness of sound coupled with better build quality and improved comfort for me was worth paying more for.

Still one of the best headsets out there, updated. Compared to other gaming headsets I’ve tried, this has better, crisper sound quality across all ranges, even before software. Important to note that I choose to use an audio card, rather than MB built in audio. The mixamp still a solid unit and does exactly what is required of it.
Only criticism is the inline mute switch being a bit weird, and the ear pads, whilst comfortable, are a foamy fabric that will need careful treatment when cleaning.

Le cuffie fantastiche, ottimo sound. Il mixamp ottimo per chi gioca su console o per chi non ha delle schede audio esterne come nel mio caso. Penso che far il reso riprender le cuffie singole.
Am speechless from the quality of the headset. The only deslike is that after the PC is turned off the mixapm is still powered on and there is no way to turn it off unless you unplug the mixamp from the PC. Overall great sound and confort for long sessions!!

Ottime cuffie da far presente per che per chi ha una ps4 slim come il sottoscritto occorre un adattore HDMI per avere l’ingresso ottico visto che la console ne sprovvista. Ottimo audio, venivo dalle Sony Gold e c’ un abisso qualitativo immenso. Ci gioco per COD e si sente davvero bene, soprattutto comodissimo il mix amp per i vari volumi chat/gioco e 4 set up di scelta per audio personalizzati. Le consiglio, pur non essendo economiche.

Nach anfnglichen Schwierigkeiten mit dem MixAmp, bin ich nach der Einrichtung sehr zufrieden. Klang ist klar und deutlich. Einzig das Mikrofon welches ber einen Klinken Stecker angesteckt wird hat manchmal Aussetzer.
Kann aber auch am mangelnden Unvermgen meinerseits liegen.

Brilliant quality on the PS4. Having only used budget headphones previously you can tell as soon as you put these on that it’s a different league of product. Honestly, the sound quality is superb, comfortable and also durable. Have used these for many hours a week since purchase and had no issues. My first Astro product and definitely won’t be last: 10/10

These are easily the most comfortable headphones I’ve had. They fit me well, although I feel they might be a little large for some people. As someone else mentioned, it’s not very easy getting them to work with the MixAmp. And some people prefer the mic quality of the Siberia Elites.
Personally I’m happy with the quality of the sound, although I’m not that bothered about the surround sound option. One thing to watch out for though, you need to give it a bit of a push to make sure it’s fully connected (I struggled a bit with this at first, not realising it was in fact not properly connected!).
It’s not a cheap set with the MixAmp included, so worth thinking about whether you really need both.

The last pair of astros I bought lasted me 6 years and still going strong but with the prime deal I couldn’t resist and my days what a bit of kit sound is incredible the quality is out of this world incredible
Before this purchase, I had bought the A50 but quickly returned it because of the terrible battery life but this however is a wired beast with great customisations and with an amazing mix amp. The mic is also really good especially if you like to scream down the mic to get attention from teammates.
Se volete l’audio migliore per giocare a FPS e quant’altro, dovete prendere queste e non altre, punto. Audio al massimo della qualit poi personalizzabile tramite i profili audio (fino a 4). Per giochi come COD sono le migliori per sentire i passi, li sentite fino all’altra parte della mappa.

Per Ps4 funzionano alla perfezione, sopratutto per i giochi fps come apex, cod ecc svolgono un lavoro egregio.

I’ve had the previous A40 black ops edition one and this one blows it out of the window… Much better looking design and colours, much more slick & cool looking Mixamp. Overall a fantastic & comfortable headset for gaming.
Creo que los astro40 estn sobrevalorados, viniendo de unos sennheiser la mejora no es tanta. Eso no quita que se oigan geniales, aunque me pegunto como seran con altavoces de 50mm como muchas otras marcas estn sacando ya. Los packs de partes para que funcionen como auriculares cerrados totalmente “overpriced”. Resumen:
PRO: se oyen muy bien
CONS: precio. deberan empezar a actualizarse y usar 50mm.

Ich fange direkt mit den Nachteilen fr mich an: keine. Das einzige was man bemngeln knnte wre aller hchstens das es nicht drahtlos ist aber das ist mir bei der Qualitt egal. Ich finde 139 Euro nur fr die Kopfhrer TOP TOP, das mix-amp muss jeder fr sich selber entscheiden es ist meiner Meinung nach sehr hilfreich besonders bei E-Sport Turnieren um schnell lauter zu machen den Modus zu wechseln und die Teamates leiser zu machen um die Steps besser zu hren und in ein paar Sekunden wieder zurckzuschalten also fr jeden der gerne schnelle Kontrolle hat kann ich nur ans herz legen beide im Pack zu Kaufen !
Inutile dire quanto siano fondate le voci sull’ottima qualit. Puoi controllare il volume generale di chat e gioco, grande immersivit nel multiplayer e il prezzo rispecchia la qualit del prodotto. Assolutamente consigliato.

Le botier de rglage est trs bien seul bmol peut tre un rglage faire , je n’ai pas encore trouv mais un lger bourdonnement quand on augmente le volume du botier au maximum peut tre trop sensible le micro je ne sais pas

The default noise gate on the mic is too high and this causes your voice to cut out in party/game chat. To fix this, download the Astro command centre software from the website. Then plug the mixamp into your PC/Mac and change the Mic noise gate from ‘home’ to ‘streamer’ mode. This will fix your issue. Enjoy
