This microphone is great. It’s sturdy and well build. I’m using this mic to record vocals in Fl Studio and it gets a job well done.

What a great sounding microphone. Used for vocals in a home studio and very pleased with the result. OK there is no
high pass filter etc but what you get is an excellent mic built like a tank.

I needed a microphone to record some training videos for work. This microphone was not an overkill with the budget and I already had a sound card for it, so I bought it.
I have been using it since and I am so happy with it!
I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and a Line6 UX2 which I used in the past to record instruments. You will need a sound card with XLR 48V phantom power to use these types of microphones, as they require a preamp and power to work. Connecting them to a normal PC sound card with a cable adapter will not do the job.
I used it many times for recording videos, where I keep the microphone at about 20cm from my mouth. Perfect clean sound, I keep the gain a bit lower than max, then add a bit of compression and normalize the track almost at 0db, so the voice becomes clear for the training courses.
But I also use it when gaming online, as a regular microphone with Discord. Other players in my team report the audio to be fantastic obviously.
The microphone is in a cardioid configuration, which means it is meant to grap the audio in front of it up to a certain angle.
This doesn’t mean though it won’t be affected by room noises, it will pick them all up due to the nature of the microphone. A noise gate can help, but you need a relatively quiet room for it to be effective.
On the other hand, if you want to talk in 2 or 3 people, it will pick all of you at about 1 meter distance, with a slightly higher gain. And maybe a noise gate (which discord has anyway, it is the sensitivity to start transmission).
Overall it is a very nice product.
If you are a professional singer, I think it could only be a good starter though, I am sure that for quality professional singing there are better options. Saying that, remember to try the microphones when singing, as they go together with your voice and personal sound preference.

You can't go wrong with this microphone

A good mic for the price. Robust and solid looking. I was looking for something to help me get better vocal sounds on recordings. It does the job but I find the dynamic range needs fattening out as it tends to veer towards the tinnier end of the eq spectrum. Having said that, not disappointed. I don’t reckon you’ll get a better quality mic within the below 100 price range. One gripe is that it doesn’t come with a tripod stand and it’s not a mic you can just hold. I would advise the company to include stand in package as I had a real hassle trying to find a stand for it online and ended up buying an adapter for the screw thread mount.

Really clear, crisp sound quality. XLR Cable goes in with a satisfying click. Very nice leather padded zip case included for transport, although with the build quality of the AT2020 you could probably throw it down a staircase and it’d still work.

Please don’t throw your microphone down a staircase.

Very easy to use. THIS MIC REQUIRES PHANTOM POWER!!!! I originally didn’t think this required phantom power and was wondering why I sounded so quiet. Preferably if you use a mic pre-amp it would be better then straight up phantom power direct to the mic as that would reduce mic noise (the little static buzz)

Other than that it is a great mic and even comes in a really nice padded bag inside the box.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis microphone is really good. It feels sturdy and well made, it looks great and sounds very professional but does pick up some background noise. I bought this microphone to record covers for YouTube and SoundCloud but had some issues when recording my vocals into Logic Pro X as no audio was getting picked up from the microphone. I tried the microphone on GarageBand and it was a success! Leaving me feeling even more baffled as to why the microphone did not work on logic?

However I realised it was my version of Logic that was the problem as I tried the mic on my iMac in the studios at work and it worked perfectly. I would 100% recommend this microphone to someone who knows what they’re doing… it was my first microphone and it was a bit overwhelming and confusing but I did work it out eventually

In terms of buying a great sounding mic without breaking the bank this is about the best.

Sounds much better than the cheapest available XLR mics, not quite as good as say the SMB1 or Rode NT-1 but the price is unbeatable

I’ve never set up an external mic for the pc so I thought setting this thing up was gonna be a task. Turns out it was super simple.

Basically got it for my dad as he’s been trying to find a mic, even though I missed out he wanted a USB mic and not something like this buuuuut he has this audio interface which is why I got this mic. Also my friends and uni lecturers who do e-sports warned me not to get a blue yeti but this one instead.

So, yeah, setting it up was easy. The sound quality is great! Only issue is which isn’t to do with the mic but the audio interface. When I open an editing program such as vegas or premier pro all the audio is in the left ear due to having two inputs. Trying to fix it but haven’t yet!

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersIf I could give value for money 6/5 stars I would. This is a STEAL at it’s price range. If an SM57 is the staple bang-for-buck for dynamic mics, then this is it’s counterpart for condensers. I used it for vocals, acoustics, glockenspiel, shaker, kalimba, ukulele and as a room mic for drum recordings and I can’t tell you how perfect it has been for all of these. If you are a budget bedroom producer like me then just grab this and an SM57 and you are all set for life. Amazing mic at a horrendously low price. I am shocked.

    200x better than expected

I was upgrading from a Blue Yeti and wanted something of an upgrade but not too pricey and after several searches and thorough research into value for money this mic kept getting mentioned and I fully understand why.

This mic just looks and feels very professional. The quality is just superb. I stream quite a bit and knew that my quality had to be good but just wow. The quality of this mic alone without added effects could rival even the top 10 streamers on Twitch.

This mic is just so good and I can not praise it enough. I have had a really positive experience with this and I really recommend it if you want an upgrade that’s not too pricey. 5/5

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI adore this mic. It’s super easy to install and use and the quality of the audio it gives is crisp and clear! It’s nice that it comes with its own desk stand, though honestly, it’s difficult to use it as a streaming mic with the desk stand as the mic is quite sensitive and will pic up the desk sounds, even with filters lessening the background sounds. Still, it’s a great piece of equipment and a fabulous upgrade for someone like me, who had previously been using a standard gaming headset mic for my needs.

This is now my 3rd or 4th try to get a USB mic I’m happy with. I was using the Blue Sparc USB for a while, but my mic placement had to be perfect and I couldn’t move at all or the sound volume and quality varied a lot. This mic gives a much more consistent results. I can relax and just speak without worrying about minor head movements, making recording voice overs a lot easier.

Some people find the lack of gain controls on the mic a downside. I think it’s a really positive thing. I know my settings are exactly right every time. I just plug it in, move the boom arm to roughly the right position and go. It’s great!

Solid and dependable, for the price we have not found anything better. If you want to hear the sound that these pick up you can check out our Youtube channel (search ‘Hear us out’ on youtube). We use 2 of these, 2 xlr cables, plugged into a Zoom H6 to provide the recording and phantom power. I like the form factor as they easily attach to mic arms and are small enough for third part clip on pop filters.

I’ve had this little mic for around three years now and used it for many applications, everything from a room mic to recording a vocal. You would be amazed at the quality you can get from such an inexpensive piece of equipment! Obviously it doesn’t compare to a mic costing 2000, but if you’re on a budget, you couldn’t do any better for the money.

Sounds FANTASTIC on a roomy acoustic guitar, lovely detail and a gorgeous warmth.

Amazing cardioid condenser with two scroll wheels which never get in the way. Monitoring and level. Once you get used to them you’d probably start using them alot as an added function. Love it so much it was my second time buying them (thought I lost the first one so I got another. 2 days later I found it. Don’t have regrets for having two so I didn’t even bother returning it XD)

Was worried to purchase a more expensive dedicated microphone as I have only used 5 ones or headset ones before however this works amazingly well. Would definitely recommend getting a shock-mount either with the mic or asap after purchasing to avoid unnecessary noises being picked up through vibrations in the tripod (which can be a bit unstable).

Not only love the design, the build quality, but also is great for recording my little quirky sounding cedar/rosewood acoustic guitar. gives more space for editing and post processing. brings out the natural sound of your guitar although depends on ur mic positioning. Highly recommended!!

Great Mic. I have bought several other mics, but this one works really well. I was a little concerned as I was told that condenser mics pick up a lot of background noise, but this doesn’t at all, and the quality of recording is immense.

I wanted a USB mic to be able to do some rough recordings of rehearsals, rather than just recording bad quality through the computer’s built-in mic. This worked straight out of the box, and the quality is excellent, so we could some useful vocal recording direct into the laptop, if required. Although we have yet to try and record acoustic guitar, with it, I can certainly recommend it for recording vocals.

Good, very good. Better than I expected. Previously using an interface and a standard ( qualality ) analogue mic for music recording. I expected little difference, just more convenience. But it is so much better. I’m going to have so much fun with this. Must be one of the best around for the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got this for my MacBook Pro to record audio for youtube videos. For a USB microphone, the quality is very good. It feels like a solid bit of kit, the packaging is very well designed, so much so that I’m keeping the box to store it while I’m not using.

I did not want all the extra junk you have to buy with other non-usb microphones (amplifiers)—and this hit my price point perfectly. I’ve not used the stand as I’ve mounted it on my own c-stand that I use for photography.

I live in a noisy, busy street and it does pick up everything (traffic noise, planes, scooters, motorbikes etc). That’s not the fault of the microphone, but thought I would mention it.

I just downloaded a bit of free audio software (Audacity) and run noise reduction. So, so far so good.—very happy with the purchase.

Look no further than this absolute god tier microphone if you’re in the market for a new microphone for any reason, but especially so if you’re the kind of person doing podcasts, content creating on YouTube, Twitch, the like.
This microphone goes above and beyond, I’ve owned the blue snowball, blue yeti and other similarly priced microphones but they don’t even compare to how good this thing sounds with a few tweaks here and there, you will NOT be disappointed.
Also on a side note, it easily fits into most setups not being too large.
I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI purcahsed this product over a year ago for podcasting but haven’t started using until recently (hence the late review). The following are the pros and cons as I see them. Please keep in mind, I am an amateur and can’t speak to the more technical aspects of the mic.

    Pros:
    1) Quality – The most import aspect of this microphone is it’s quality. I have used many mics in the past, but none come close to the AT2020+.
    2) Background Noise – While it doesn’t come with a windscreen, the mic doesn’t seem to pick up much backgroudn noise.
    3) Durability – The moment you hold this mic you can tell that it is well built.
    4) USB – It’s extremely convenient that you can plug the mic directly into your computer.
    5) Stand – The stand that comes with the mic is quite convenient for podcasting; it saves you the need to purchase a seperate stand.
    6) Volume – The mic features a volume control dial on the side, which I’ve been using quite often.
    7) Price – While the mic is definitely not cheap, I find the price very reasonable given the quality.

    Cons:
    1) Stand – While the stand is convenient, it takes a bit of getting used to in order to make it stand well. Also, if you want to use it for Twitch or gaming and don’t want it infront of you, you’ll likely have to purchase a more versatile stand.
    2) Weight – This is not at all a problem for me, but others might find the mic a bit heavy. That being said, you’d be hard pressed to find a high quality microphone that isn’t really on the heavy side.

Overall a fantastic microphone! Well worth the price.

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersA whole new world of recording delight – I moved from a Blue Yeti USB mic to this one on the recommendation of a professional musician friend. Basically, as he told me, it’s relatively inexpensive for the quality you’re getting and – as mic technology is pretty much unchanging these days – will hold its value should I want to re-sell it and move on to an even better unit.

You should be going for something more costly if you’re a pro – and if you can afford it – but for the rest of us this is a superb choice. Clean sound, great pickup, sturdy and with a nice weight to it, it does what it’s meant to do (i.e. record voices and sounds) brilliantly and doesn’t feel like it’ll break at a moment’s notice like some cheaper mics for cool kids do.

Also, while some might find it a bit unflattering to gape at, I like the look of the thing. Functional and unspectacular, like me in many ways.

Recently purchased this microphone as an upgrade and I was doing my research heavily on which microphone to go for in terms of YouTube and pod-casting and this model came up frequently. Amazon was the site that had this at a very cheap price against competitors. I saved up my money and brought this straight after pay day. I love my new mic the sound quality is so clear and crisp. Also the addition of the headphone jack for monitoring is so essential when I’m recording audio for my YouTube channel and my podcast series. Works perfectly with Adobe Audition. Would highly recommend to anyone look for a mic upgrade.

I absolutely love this microphone! I make YouTube videos, as well as recording songs, so having a decent microphone is important to me. I didn’t have a huge budget, so I needed something cheap-ish without sacrificing too much quality. This fulfilled that criteria and I was not disappointed – I love it, would recommend to anyone needing something like this 🙂

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersExcellent budget studio mic. Voice quality is really natural sounding. The protective case is handy as is the boom mount that comes with it. It would be nice if a shield came with it as well.

I was concerned about reports of hiss; especially following my experiences with even cheaper microphones and needn’t have been. Depending on your needs it can be perfectly adequate as it comes raw, with no processing. For instance, YouTube vids. However, get into audio processing on home videos and results are stunning.

Noise rejection from back and sides is good, allowing me to record a voiceover in the kitchen with a fridge behind it!!

It’s quite heavy, so you do need either a solid table mount or a boom stand that’s not too lightweight or else you will have problems with it toppling over.

This is fast becoming my ‘goto’ mic at home in preference to my others which are way higher in noise, which mean processing needs to be a little heavier handed than on the Audio Technica, where you can use minimal editing and get great results.

Good microphone with good quality, however you will need to put it in a shock mount that is on a boom stand to eliminate ambient noise. I also liked the long cable that came with the item being able to wrap it around my boom stand multiple times before having to plug it in.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersQuality microphone. I purchased this to use when on Skype with my buddy from the US because the built in microphone on my laptop isn’t the best and I didn’t want to waste money on a gaming headset as they can be expensive and the microphone on them isn’t anywhere near as good as this one. The clarity of the microphone is brilliant. I have it sat about a foot away from me to the side of my laptop and they have no problem hearing me. You simply plug it in and you’re away, as simple as that. I chose this microphone over other ones such as the Blue Yeti and Rde based on the aesthetics. I preferred the look of this one. It has a blue light to indicate the microphone is on which is handy. The little tripod to comes with can be a bit tricky to balance the microphone on but with a little messing around I found the perfect position where it wont fall over. It arrived the next day with standard delivery which is excellent. Overall, I’m very please with this microphone and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about purchasing one.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersEverything was perfect from packaging to setup. With this purchase you get an AT2020 Microphone, a tripod Stand, USB Cable, swivel adapter and a pouch. Being a USB microphone it is as easy as plug and play with both OSX and Windows.

The sounds is amazing. Crystal clear, sharp and professional. It has a headphone jack to listen back and almost zero lag. There is two volume controls on the mic. One for headphones and the other as a monitor. I live in a noisy environment and was worried about it picking up to much. Just by using adjusting the microphone levels in your OS’s settings it can work to how you want.

Coupled with other programs it can do a lot more. For live recording…. Adobe Audition can process your voice to give it broadcasting/radio quality. In OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) the noise gate can be adjusted so it picks up your voice and not loud keystrokes. For stuff like Youtube or pre-recorded videos. The sound can be ran through Audacity or a number of programs and maximizes the sound quality due to the AT2020 being one of the best microphones on the market. In terms of quality this in my option beats the Blue Yeti hands down. Aesthetically its looks more pleasing to the eye and due to the slim design it will fit in most shock mounts/ mic stands. I know the Blue Yeti has trouble sliding into some stands.

Do remember that this is a USB mic, so the advantage is you do not need a mixer to adjust the audio levels as with the AT2020 standard. It is all done digitally with whatever program you use.

I also recommend buying a boom arm stand instead of using the standard tripod (more room for Keyboard and mouse) and a cheap pop shield like this one Mudder Recording Studio Microphone Mic Windscreen Pop Filter with Double Layer for streaming and gaming . If you have the space directly in front of your person then the tripod stand is sufficient.

The only downside is the blue L.E.D. It is not distracting but when coupled with a green screen can shine a little. However you can always rotate the mic so the blue light is on the other side. There is no way to turn this light off but it is the only flaw on what I deem a perfect microphone. The sound is AMAZING!

The best mic on the market for live streaming and recording. Your voice has never sounded better.

This microphone is truly phenomenal and provides many solutions to common home studio problems.

First of all , this product was not bought on sight and i made sure to do my research before making the leap into making the purchase which in the condenser microphone industry was a relatively small leap. This product is a USB “plug-and-play” microphone which was particularly useful for me as i only have a laptop and the software to use as my home studio. The product is my second condenser microphone and i love the fact that i can just plug it into my USB slot and go. The sound quality is amazing and it is easy for a beginner to set up features like talk back, and control audio levels to the headphones which you plug in via a handy headphone jack on the side of the microphone itself. The finish of the product is nice although the actual microphone is more grey than black , it has a gritty look with bits of black speckled around the whole microphone creating nice effect.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to start recording vocals or instruments but doesn’t want to splash the cash on expensive sound boards.

Seller was great and arrived in immaculate condition.

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersWhen researching into microphones the Audio Technica AT2020 is often recommended as it is modestly price and it sounds great too. From its success came the AT2020 USB microphone, but as with many early USB mics it lacked features such as headphone output which is must for many applications. This lead to the release of AT2020 USB+ microphone, an upgraded AT2020 USB bundled with accessories which include a small tripod desk stand, 10 foot USB cable and pop filter.

This microphone is similar in design to the previous variants with a medium diaphragm 16mm cardioid mic. It is powered directly by a USB (type A to type B) cable where the connector takes the places of the previous XLR socket. The microphone has a self-noise figure of 20dB, which is not brilliant but is adequately low for most studio applications. There is no means of on the fly filtering so any necessary filters must be applied after recording.

The USB side takes care of the 16bit Analog to Digital conversion which is convenient, but the user is restricted to this convertor. Headphones can be plugged into the phono jack socket on the side of the mic and there are two thumbwheels on the front of the device which control the headphone volume and the balance between the microphone signal and computer stereo output. The microphone is a class-compliant device and requires no additional driver to use on Apple operating systems and a suitable driver should download automatically on Windows (if not already installed).

Recorded speech confirms that this mic has the same characteristic of the XLR variants but with the added warmth to the lower mids in vocals. It is well suited to all vocal styles and can double as a very capable acoustic instrument mic.

The tripod stand carries the weight of the microphone very well and it is of very high quality. However it is prone to falling over if it is knocked.

For audio recordings it is recommended to use the free software Audacity and apply software filers. However for our video recordings we use Camtasia (which does not support audio filters) and instead use Voice Shaper (intended for AM radio) combined with a virtual audio cable to filter audio on the fly.

Good Microphone but stuck to built in AD converto

This mic is so good. I play games a lot, forfun and professionally and this suits my needs in many ways. With no background noise at all, it is a superb mic. Having tested out the Blue Yeti, this mic differs in the tone of your voice. This mic focuses on the high pitches and the blue yeit picks up onthe low pitches and in my opinion, I prefer the Audio Technica AT2020+ USB.

Lovely warm sounding microphone. I’ve not had a lot of experience with condensors, but this sounds somehow more musical that an SM58 on acoustic guitar. It’s quite subtle, and I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but there’s a definite improvement in the tone and the warmth of the recorded sound. It’s really well made as well.

I really do like this microphone, it records a very high quality of audio, while looking professional at the same time. The only downside to this microphone is that the stand it comes with is not the best of quality… what I mean by this is that if you put the default stand on a desk it would pick up the vibrations coming through the desk.

    PROS
    – Looks Very Professional
    – Records at a professional level (Very high quality audio)
    – Very easy to setup (Plug and play)

    CONS
    – Stand microphone comes with doesn’t cancel out vibrations coming from the surface it is on. (Picks up computer vibrations through desk)
    – Also I recommend a pop filter and a shock mount (Doesn’t cost a lot but still requires more money to be spent at the end of the day)

Great audio quality. I really like this Audio Technica microphone and will definitely be purchasing further audio products from them. It has great audio quality, good features and comes with an appropriately sized USB cable. My only complaint was the stand with it is ridiculous, it is so light it cannot balance the weight of the microphone so whatever you do it will not stand upright with that stand – why even include it? It made no sense and unfortunately it caused me to have to wait for a new desktop stand to be delivered before I could use the mic. Other than that, the mic itself is great.

I love it, noticeable upgrade from HyperX headset mic.

If you’re new to this stuff, then you may experience same issue as me, described below.
Had some trouble with gain volume, didn’t record loud enough when moved away from my mouth. After some research found out that it’s windows 8 and 10 issue with usb microphones, works fine for windows 7 users, microsoft simply doesn’t care to fix it. Had to download 3rd party equalizer (Equalizer APO worked well and is free) to boost gain volume and it works perfect.

Love it. Had so many issues with my Yeti microphone (lots of background noise, and terrible beeping). Audio Technica has none of those issues. Quick to set up and easy to use. I use for streaming and YouTube Videos. The quality is amazing! http://www.twitch.tv/ryry_ceo/profile
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4wQoI6kCI8 Anyone that watches the youtube video, you will hear the difference. When i play Super Mario Maker, i was using the yeti mic, and if you listen carefully you will hear back ground noise and beeping even when i don’t talk which i tried to edit out. then after that is finished, i begin a commentary half way through the video playing a basketball game (NBA 2K16) i was using the Audio Technica for the commentary and you will see how clear it is……Make your own judgement !

Read a lot of reviews on this product and it well and truly delivered. Amazing for vocals. Don’t understand the negative reviews on the about there not being a straight usb connect. You’d lose the quality if it was a straight usb. I’ve got a behringer mixer with built in phantom power and a behringer usb interface. And even the raw vocal recordings I get from the mic is flawless. No need to shop around like I’ve done. Easily work a lot more money so an absolute bargain at this price.

I like quality when I purchase anything, just looking at this mike tells you just that. Great looks and feel sounds fantasic, but then I also purchased a pop filter to go in front of the mike. There is also the added bonus of the headphone jack with volume control, a great addition. Lastly it, it also comes with a leather case to protect it. Don’t be affraid to buy, you know you want to lol. You can always return it.

This is one great mic. Simply plug and play for great quality recordings, no mixer required. It’s sensitive enough to get great quality audio at a good volume without having to be really close to the mic. I found it does fit in a standard shock mount, I just had to open the mount more than normal. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great sounding usb mic without having to pull out too much cash.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAt the price this is a well made and superb performing Cardioid Microphone. It does require a Phantom Power Supply so ensure your mixer/device can provide this or you will have to buy a separate power supply. You must also ensure your cables are capable of conducting the phantom power supply as many don’t. The only thing I would have liked to have seen at this price would have been a proper plastic case to keep the Mic housed in when not in use. Instead you just get a cardboard box and zip up plastic pouch. A bit naff.

I have recently got back into recording and have found this microphone to be up to all standards I previously used. I used to use a lot of Shure and AKG Mic’s what sometimes even tripled the cost of this and came nowhere near the quality this produced.

Here is a clip of a quick test of it with only reverb on it:

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAn excellent mike with very beautifull, reach sound – now with the live control possibility due to the introduction of an audio socket for earphones. I had initially bought its version without plus, but I couldn’t work with it due to the lack of live control. This new feature changes all for me.
Apart from high end recording it can be used with skype – both mike and eaphones both connected via a single USB make your old headset redundant.
Unfortunately, at the moment it is not supported by Linux (linux mint 15).

I bought a couple of AT2020’s and two quality mike stands to compliment my Zoom H4n Digital Recorder.

I use the system for recording interviews with prominent people who I can’t ask to do it again if it’s not up to scratch.

My recordings are used for broadcasting both on the radio and the web.

If I say, that to date, they have not given me any course for concern, and always have given me more that I expected, you will realise I know I made the correct decision.

To get what you require, always use good quality leads, and a good quality mike stand. I tried stands costing 20 up to 190, and finished up with paying 70. They don’t bend or move when a bit of weight is applied with the mike and lead, they also stand firm on the floor.

This microphone is truly excellent. It is almost too good at picking up sound and I’ve had to look at ways to dampen noise I didn’t realise was there before. I had become so used to the bacground hum of things that it took a sensitive micriphone like this to make me sit up and realise.

I’ve used it for everything from creating my own sound effects to tedious training videos. It’s good for any job as far as I can tell. I may buy a shock mount for it to reduce any latent vibrations coming through the desk.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersMy first foray into condenser microphones – I’ve used a few stupidly priced mics in various studios before, but wanted a low cost condenser mic for my home studio.
I’m not disappointed – I read a number of reviews on-line about this mic, which is very much at the low end of the market price wise, before deciding on the AT2020. Everyone seemed to suggest that this is a good microphone to record with.
Well, in comparison to the sound I’ve got before using a Shure SM57 and SM58, this is noticeably warmer and closer to the “live” sound that’s heard from my guitar. Vocals are clear and warm too.
I’m impressed – well done Audio Technica, you’ve done a good job with this mic.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersThis is an excellent microphone, extremely sensitive with accurate representation of both vocals and guitar cabinet sounds. The mic is side address Cardiod Condenser meaning you do need to have phantom power to use this microphone. The only downside i have had with this mic is that there is no form of shielding from popping in the form of a popguard/windshield, so make sure u buy one along with the microphone.

the mount is sturdy with a screw fitting and will comfortably hold the microphone in an inverted position. This microphone is remarkably well built, is weighty and feel solid in hand. Time will tell if it’s as sturdy as it feels.
