Audioengine A2+ Wireless 60W Powered Desktop Speakers | Built-in 24Bit DAC & Amplifier | Bluetooth aptX Codec, Direct USB Connection, 3.5mm and RCA Phono inputs (Bluetooth – Wireless, Black)
AUDIOENGINE IS AN INDEPENDENT SPEAKER COMPANY BASED IN AUSTIN, TX.
In 2005 Audioengine was founded with a simple goal: Build a speaker that sounds great, is easy to set up and use, and that makes people want to listen to music every day.
Audioengine’s core products are powered speakers; all-in-one music systems which allow you to connect all your devices wirelessly (or wired) for great stereo sound. They started with just one powered speaker, the A5; simple and beautiful, yet versatile enough to be used in your workspace as computer speakers, on stands in your living room, or in a home theater setup.
But the Audioengine team wanted to offer even more for their customers. After years of hard work, the versatility of their products was pushed even further by offering a number of add-on audio products that can be used with existing music systems.
Their passion is to help people hear all their favorite songs as they were meant to be heard and to discover new music and appreciate it with the highest sound quality. And they’re doing exactly what they had planned, which is to change the way people listen to music. Audioengine is now proud to offer a complete line of products that bring the sound quality of professional studio monitors right into your living room, without the inconvenience of multi-device stereo receivers or big clunky passive speakers.
So now we’ve highlighted WHAT Audioengine does, but that hardly defines what a company is all about; so now let’s dive into the WHO and WHY of Audioengine.
WHO?
Audioengine founders, Brady and Dave, have been in the tech industry a long time.
They’ve worked separately and together for companies such as Harman, Apple, Gibson Guitars, Alesis, and others. Both are experts in their field and, after realizing a common dream of introducing new audio products and holding them to the highest possible standards, they decided to launch Audioengine.
Brady and Dave both loved technology and more specifically music.
Audioengine strives to design products that stand the test of time, and not become obsolete after a few short years. We don’t make “copy-cat†or “me too†products, instead we focus on giving customers a completely unique listening experience by making gradual and necessary updates to our already successful products. Product development is the heart of Audioengine, and we gauge our success by the number of customers that literally smile when they hear the difference between our systems and everything else
The ultimate mini music system with wireless that works.

EPIC DESKTOP SETUP – THE MUST-HAVE DESKTOP EXPERIENCE
Everyone knows the difference between custom-built, small batch products and the general disappointment of mass-produced products. The A2+ was designed and is hand-built with the goal of exceeding expectations of both value and performance.
The bass was teased from the A2+ with some clever acoustic and electrical design without using any digital signal processing. To say the bass on the Audioengine 2+ is substantial for their size may be an understatement, but you be the judge.
These small computer speakers really pack a punch, making them the go-to system for desktop setups and smaller-room audio.

Up front I’ll say these speakers did not get 5 stars since they are quite expense for desktop speakers. I pondered the purchase for a couple of months and finally pulled the trigger and I’m very glad I did. These speakers sound great! The sound accuracy is very, very good. The build quality is excellent. I often connect via bluetooth and never have any issues with the connection. The size is indeed small enough for them to sit on your desk.
As some have noted, these speakers do not have thundering bass. But who would expect that in this size speaker? If I decide I need bigger bass I’ll buy a subwoofer, but for my day to day use, at my desktop, I don’t think I’ll need that.
I’m amazed in how rich these speakers sound and fill the room! Setup took about 5 minutes and wireless the connected easily. They come with every kind of connector as well. You’ll need to run a regular speaker wire between the power speaker and the passive speaker. Easily paired with my tablet, iPhone Etc. And for the sound, it really does fill the room which is about 16×20. Treble and midrange are solid. I’m even surprised with the bass response which is much better than average. Needless to say, I’m very pleased with their performance. I would say for the price and performance, they are much more than I expected. My only suggestion is if you buy the white, be prepared that they come with a black power cord. Not that big of a deal but I would suggest to the manufacturer that they think about changing that. Enjoy your listening experience!
Brilliant little speakers that work well on a desk. Sound quality is top notch, just don’t expect them to fill a room – They work best placed directly in front of you paired with a computer.
I used them for about a month without a subwoofer, but decided I wanted to give them a little boost. Picked up a Polk PSW10e and it has made a massive difference. I’d recommend making the plunge straight away and picking up a sub with these!
Besser als ich erwartet habe. Vermisse meine alten 3 Wege Boxen nicht!
Als Ergnzung knnte man ber den S8 Subwoofer nachdenken. Aber die Betonung liegt auf knnte!
They look great. Easy to install. Good sound but it does need equaliser to get it right. Great for computer games but not great for just listening to music. They should cut out the stupidity like cotton speaker bags and all that and knock 50 quid off, might not be such a painful price
look cool and sound good, would recommend for the price
I read it is very good spaker for your PC and it is ! Good value at A$319 on sale.
Son de trs bonne qualit. Matriel robuste. Tout est ok pour moi.
I am using these speakers for my desktop by connecting the included USB in to my M1 Mac Mini. The speakers are very plug and play and extremely easy to set up with the included speaker wire.
The sound quality that come out of these speakers is more than adequate for a desktop setup but I wouldn’t recommend them as part of a home theatre setup. I placed the speakers on Kanto S2 speaker stands as I preferred the design to the AE ones.
The lows on the speakers are very basic as you’d expect on unit’s this size – I had bought a Kanto SUB8 woofer which allowed me to unlock the needed lower frequencies for my music.
As a note, the low ends on the speakers will continue to drive when connected to a subwoofer so you’ll get action from both.
Be prepared for a lot of air to push in your face when listening to bass heavy content!
I’ve been trying to find a good PC audio solution ranging from Creative Pebbles at one end to a full blown NAD power amp and Focal Dome at the other. Nothing fully satisfied for one reason or another until I found the A2+. I have no complaints about the audio quality and I even invested in the ridiculously over priced stands. The build quality is good. So just hope they don’t develop the faults others have talked about.
Great sounding small speakers. For their size they sound really impressive. However, you have to accept their diminutive size does mean there is not much bass from them (you do not need to be a basshead to realise that). They sound fine but not much bottom end which is completely understandable.
I had an old subwoofer I hadn’t used for ages, hooked that up in the corner and set the levels and transformed the sound. These speakers are superb at what they do but the subwoofer took them to a much higher level.
Connects with Bluetooth to PC, laptop, Mac & iPhone. Pairing button could be better located and the flashing lamp is covered when pressing the button.
I can’t believe the wonderful sounds that come from these small speakers! Works perfectly with new Sony Bluetooth turntable. I never knew vinyl could sound this great!
I don’t know much about speakers. I didn’t know what a sound stage was. I didn’t know what stereo separation was.
With these speakers, I do now. It is so clear. Details of what is being played, where it is being played. If you close your eyes, you can clearly see where different sounds are positioned, left right front and back.
They are expensive for sure. Crazy expensive for a pair of computer speakers. But the quality of the sound is, to me, excellent.
Don’t expect them to give you cinema boom boom boom. But turn them up and your neighbour will complain for sure.
If you like most people have some ordinary computer speakers, these will not disappoint.
If you want boom boom boom, you will need a bigger speaker or a sub woofer.
Solid speakers, decent bass response for their size. Fantastic build quality, bluetooth works flawlessly.
I found it very easy to set up these speakers via bluetooth and direct wire. The speakers themselves look and sound great.
These speakers look and sound awesome. I use them for my office/gaming setup, they can get quite loud, but they are small form speakers.
I chose these to use with a multimedia PC. The speakers provide a good range of ports from analogue audio to direct USB connection to a PC, and Bluetooth. The finish on the ones I bought was a high quality red lacquer which I like. The speakers are remarkably small (the entire delivery fitted easily into an Amazon locker).
Sound quality is excellent, given the small size but obviously does not have extended bass. This fine for my purposes, I don’t want to shake the floor while monitoring AV content. There is an analogue sub-woofer output on the rear of the left hand speaker if you want to use these as your main speakers. Bass is surprisingly good for the small cabinet size. The best characteristic though is the accuracy and clarity of the stereo sound.
The price is high, but the features are good and the sound quality is excellent. The only alternative that I would consider are Tannoy Gold active monitors which would cost approximately twice as much.
I bought these to go with my computer, hook up easy, every control is very intuitive, could not be happie
I honestly really like them but sound a bit boring in my small office but I think it’s because I’m used to much larger more advanced speakers, but they look great easy to set up and sound great for the size the dinish isn’t amazing in some places like the wee gap at the bottom has lots of splinters from the mdf that could have been sanded easily and there a bit of residue glue on the speakers
Bought these as a bday gift for my boyfriend and he loves them!
Very clear & enough bass. This is what I wanted for my computed. I am very pleased that A2+ is exceeding my expectations. Thank you.
Great speakers, insane quality and depth for the price and size
I was looking for some nice looking and great sounding speakers for my PC and these are amazing. They look so good but the sound is fantastic and easily as good as a Bose and Sonos speaker that I use. Very pleased.
They project sound very well.
the only drawback of the set is that the volume control is on the back of the main speaker.
These are quite possibly the best affordable speakers for your PC/Desktop without a sub. The clarity and response is phenomenal. Well work the purchase if you’re in the market for affordable high quality speakers.
After months of putting off buying speakers and many hours searching the web, reading reviews on a range of desktop speakers i finally decided on the Audioengine A2+ speakers. I cant say you’d be disappointed with the choice, at least i wasn’t in the slightest!
First off the unboxing was impressive, with the speakers coming secured well in protective packaging and wrapped in microfibre cloth soft to the touch, with another 2 microfibre bags storing the connecting wires, the first impressions oozed a premium feel with these great microfibre carrying bags.
The little speakers pack great audio, with a well rounded and crisp range of sound and considering the size of these little guys the base isn’t bad at all! if you’re a hardcore basehead you may need an external sub but for the regular user for the home office these are perfect in this size and produce amazing sound these put out considering their small form factor. Any audiophile will appreciate this great desk addition and make sitting at your desk all that more inviting and leaving you not want to get out your seat!
The design of these blend in and look and feel very study, solid and most important quality. The problem i found personally when looking for desktop speakers is the majority don’t compliment the desk and look out of place, tend to not look at nice and feel a bit cheap. This is certainly not the case with the A2s, they are a good weight in the hand, and the finish of the speakers is high end, from the smooth outer shell encasing the entire body to the drivers and back panels, you can tell these are premium quality and they sound as good as they look if not better! I wouldn’t expect these to produce any rattle from weight of them allowing for vibration dampening through the padded underside on the bottoms. The volume control to the rear left isn’t so much an issue at all, i adjust it to a certain level on the back and then control the volume though the device i’m using over bluetooth so turning the volume up or down can be done without issue.
The setup was super simple to install and connect up to my devices, 5 minute job connecting the power and cable between the speakers and then pairing up to them with a bluetooth device.
While they are some of the most pricey speakers when compared to its competitors in this range i believe them to be worth it. The build, sound, easy of use and looks of them top all my expectations and an investment well made with these 10/10 speakers!
Awesome computer speakers. A little lacking in bass, but to be expected from such a compact speaker. Very clear sound.
It’s set up to play all inputs at once, which is usually very nice but sometimes requires unplugging sources.
These are the best I ever had to summarize. It’s incredibly enjoyable to listen to music for some hours. It is so much better than I ever experienced so far, comparing it to a few speakers in the
My M.O. when purchasing any speaker products is to #1. Read all available material with regards to reviews on the product in question ( CNET, PC Magazine, Hi-Fi reviews etc. ). I don’t bother reading reviews from outlets that are selling the product in question as they tend to be biased. #2 Look up unboxing and review videos on Youtube and check that the unboxing/reviews from the latest videos. No sense at looking at reviews that are 10 years old or even 2 years old. The latest, the better. #3 Read customer reviews. I like reading the 1 star ratings first. When people complain of distortion or crackling from their speakers, and no one written review or Youtube reviewer make no mention, that tells me the consumer got a bad product and needs to send them back. Then, I scan the 2-5 star reviews. The low ratings complain just not loud enough. They should have purchased the Audioengine 5+ if they want to constantly listen at loud levels. The 5 star ratings usually come from people knowing what to expect, but still being totally surprised by their product. My review is on my Audioengine A2+ wireless bluetooth desktop monitor speakers. In fairness, I am 65 years old and my musical tastes are from the 50’s mono ( Doo-Wop, Elvis, Phil Spector…), the 60’s ( British Invasion bands, Motown, American bands, Beach Boys, Mamas and the Papas, Lovin Spoonful, Tommy James, Buffalo Springfield, CCR, The Doors, Dylan…), the 70’s ( Santana, Bowie, Zeppelin, Chicago, Costello, Elton, Eagles, ELO, America, James Taylor, Carol King, Jim Croce, Fleetwood Mac, Springsteen…) and just for good measure, Glenn Miller Orchestra. Was not much into the 80’s and beyond, with the exception of Coldplay. I state this because of the musical change in audio. Todays music is bass and kick heavy. Now, for the music I listen to, these speakers are awesome!! All the music I listen to, whether streaming or cd’s, sound great on these speakers. The full audio spectrum is present as intended back in the day when they were recorded. Drums, bass, guitars, horns, vocals, harmonies…From the pleasantries of Doo-Wop to the thrashing rhythms of Led Zeppelin, the audio spectrum is present and accounted for. As for the A2+ themselves, no crackling or distortion, even when I blast them. These speakers can handle the load. The manual sez to wait 50 to 60 hours to ” break-in ” the speakers for critical hearing. They sound great now after 5 hour usage, so I can’t wait till I hit the 50-60 hour break-in point. Yah, the volume control is on the back of the left speaker, but whatever the source I am using, I can control the volume from there. And that leads me to the plethora of sources these speakers can input. RCA input means I can connect my cd player, 3.5mm inputs means I can plug in my iPod, USB-C inputs means I can connect my iMac computer, and finally Blue-Tooth connectivity means I can source my iPad or Samsung Galaxy A51G 5G phone, and stream my musical lists from AMAZON MUSIC since I am a Prime Member. I tested the audio using the 3.5mm output from my Samsung Galaxy and iPad vs using Bluetooth, and I could not hear the difference. Both methods sounded great. So, consequently, I hookup my iPod and stream my iPad and phone. People, for my musical genre, these speakers are great, no complaints here. However, being the completest that I am, plus I have $100 Amazon gift certificate, I will more than likely pickup the Audioengine S8. I like the fact that the S8’s have adjustable cross-over points and phase control to balance the A2’s with the S8. If you are in to todays music ( hip-hop, rap, R&B…) its all about the bass and kick, so the S8’s would come in handy. I want ’em cuz it couldn’t hurt!! I can finally use my Xmas Amazon gift card and take $100 bucks off the price. My mind is blown with these speakers. Which brings me to the old adage, ” GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES “….
Love these speakers. The build quality is top notch and the sound they produced is really excellent. Hooked this up to my K5 Pro DAC and songs are on a different level. Not really bothered with the bass but totally predict that hooking these little gems to a subwoofer would sound brilliant!! Planning to set these up to my vinyl and use my Marshall as a desktop speaker instead. Excellent and quick delivery considering im based in Asia. If youre looking for desktop speaker with stunning minimalist design, sturdy build while producing mind blowing audio despite the size, jist take out your wallet and buy these
These are astonishing little speakers! They put out so much more sound than their size suggests! Because bass is lacking, probably not the best for studio applications. But for big sound in a small package, these are hard to beat. I just wish they were made in USA..!
If you’ve got the means, and you love listening to music while you work on your computer – great googly moogly these are awesome.
At low volume – amazing sound quality.
At high volume – they’re overkill – but i.m.o. – excess wattage makes for beautiful quality – even when you’re not cranking it.
These are terrific little speakers with great range and good bass sound. Thoroughly recommended.
Good speakers but for this price I expected more. I’m going to keep them anyway, as I really wanted a good 2.0 set with Bluetooth, which these are. All in all, good product but should be around 100 cheaper – then it would have a very good quality/price ratio.
Solid sound overall. Had to setup a wired connection through USB temporarily and there was some minor popping on certain songs. Otherwise I’m quite happy with the purchase.
I was a bit worried about purchasing these as I had heard some people experience a humming sound when no sound being player.
I’ve not heard any such noise and the speakers are placed close to me on my desk.
It quickly switches between different input sources and paired with the Kanto speakers stands they look really good
I replaced my previous 2.1 desktop speakers with this set and the sound is so much better.
It is easy to install and has a slick design.
I highly recommend these for this size category.
Very good. The only annoying thing is the volume nob is on the back and is a bit annoying to get to
Got these in black for my home office desk.
Using them primarily for music and some video.
Connections:
They are connected to my Macbook Pro, and I’ve placed them about 1.7M apart.
The left speaker unit connects to the power cable.
The 2 units are connected together with the speaker cable provided (speaker cable is 2 metres long).
I have connected to my Macbook via the provided 1.5M USB cable, but can be connected via Bluetooth too.
There are external outputs that could optionally connect to a subwoofer.
Operation:
They are turned on/off via the volume knob (on back of unit).
I can turn the volume up/down via my keyboard controls (and/or can use the volume knob on the speaker).
Sound:
Very precise and rich sound. Bass is very good for units of this size.
Very pleasing to listen to, and a noticeable step up in quality from other speakers of this size.
I also purchased the silicone mounts to sit them on, which angles the speakers upwards for a more direct sound.
Quality:
By far, some of the best packaging I’ve experienced with a product!
The speakers and their accessories/cabling were pampered in quality textile drawstring bags, all contents were packaged with alot of care and quality.
The speakers themselves feel (and weigh) high quality, and have a noticeably high quality finish to them (mine are satin black).
Pros:
– Rich and precise sound quality
– Aesthetically good looking on a desk
– Can be easily connected via USB or Bluetooth
– Volume easily controllable via device input (e.g. keyboard) and/or by the volume knob on the left speaker
– Excellent build quality, and exceptionally well packaged
Cons:
– Expensive compared to other 2.0 speakers available
Overall, I am very happy with these bookshelf speakers.
They are pricey, but I can see, feel, and hear the difference.
I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a concise pair of speakers, that is willing to pay extra for high quality.
Good middle and top, not heavy on bass. Volume control is on the back of speakers which makes changing volume a little iffy. Not complaining! Good buy!
I have owned various speakers over the years. The Audioengine A2+ are just amazing and deliver sound like studio monitors. The sounds is balanced and powerful when needed from such a small package. I would highly recommend these for any computer setup. You will not be disappointed.
+ great sound / I am not an audiophile but my dad is and he said that they perform outstanding for such a small form factor 🙂
+ perfect look
+ well built and definitely not cheap feeling
+ comes in a nice packaging with all the cables you could need
+ bluetooth connection works great also however I use them wired with PC
10/10 – defnitely recommend, you wont be disappointed
We are so happy with them that we have bought another pair recently 🙂
I’m blown away, these speakers sound amazing. Listening to spotify via the Bluetooth at my work desk. I was not expecting them to sound this good. Going to connect my laptop through a dac eventually, I’m pretty picky when it comes to audio equipment. I highly recommend these for a desktop, working from home sounds epic through these little guys.
Great entry to audiophile level speakers at a stiff but reasonable price. You are paying for a very high level of sound quality in a small form factor, Suggest getting a rubber stand to angle the speakers up a bit and to absorb the vibration from the bass during loud listening. There was subtle but noticeable vibration coming from where the speakers were sitting on my desk.
Update July 27, 2021, after getting the A2+, S8 Sub Woofer, and W3 Wireless System working, I decided to build a new PC during the pandemic. After I got it built, I tried my sound system. Oops, I messed something up. NO Sound! Now I know everything is capable of working, but it is not. So I believed I messed up and called Mark of AudioEngine Support Staff for assistance on December 19, 2020. to help me figure it out. Now, I am an Electrical Engineer and even with Mark’s help, we could not figure out what was wrong. Mark even sent me a replacement wireless W3 package to try using their known good W3’s because he tested them before sending them to me. Now, this is where the real compliment comes in. For 7 1/2 months of doggedly working with me to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, I bought a 12 ft Dual RCA cable so I could at least listen to these remarkable speakers while we figured out what was wrong. It worked just fine. So, ut was something to do with the W3’s. Well, we just figured it out today, July 27, 2021!!! I had swapped the Sender and Receiver W3’s. Amazing considering the variety of setup and tear-down cycles we did while trying to remedy this situation and not once change the order of the W3’s. Operator error we used to call it the IT world or PEBKAC Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair! DOH! Most support staff would have given up, but not Mark who hung in there with me in spite of me messing things up, blame it on old age! But, in the end, we did figure it out! 5 Star Support, with courtesy, and dogged determination!
Thank you, Mark!
Matt

Original Review:
I am an Electrical Engineer, an Audiophile with a $3000 Quadrophonic System from the mid-seventies, and I build my own PC’s and write my own software. So, I am very PC literate. So, you know I like my music and great sound. I simply LOVE the sound and this setup described below. I am really enjoying these speakers. As for the Bass Response, the speakers are lacking the UMMPPHH of a subwoofer, but I also bought the S8 subwoofer, which I highly recommend you get. The angled mounts, which I also bought, just so happens to be the perfect angle for my PC setup and computer hutch, but may not be for yours. I thought about making them with a 3D Printer and giving it some adjustability rather than a fixed angle. Maybe AudioEngine will take this thought and redesign the mounts for adjustability. The high freqauncies from the tweeter are, like most tweeters, very directional. The speakers also need to be apart far enough to provide excellent separation, so do not put them too close together. I am sitting in between the speakers and the S8 subwoofer behind my back giving a fantastic aural experience. The S8 I bought is the one with the wireless adapter, around $489, so I have no cords to trip over. I also bought a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 microphone from a local music company that recommended them. This microphone was designed to be worn over the head, but I like them better around my neck so the mic is closer to my mouth and is more comfortable that way. The mic has a fantastic near field acceptance and far-field rejection. I can crank these speakers up and the mic does NOT pick up the sound, I am astonished by that fact, or so say my buddies on Discord. I hope this helps you make up your mind about your desired setup!
Good Sound Quality with a decent bass for mids and highs.
I got the red ones and they look great! I use them as my computer speakers and am very pleased. The volume is on the back, but I have audio control on my keyboard so it doesn’t bother me.
I did a lot of research before buying these speakers. The best source was a Youtube video that showed the two top speakers playing the same song so you could compare them. I like the deeper, base tones – much less tinney sounding that the other leading speaker in this price range. I definitely wanted to spend more to get better quality product and better quality sound.
Worth every penny for people hue love to hear clean voices and musical instruments. Most amazing sound when it comes to music with vocals and guitar. If you have a wish for edm trance tehhno etc than you have to take subwoofer. I have no wish for club music that’s why ideall for me
The design is truly great; those speakers are compact, very beautiful finish and well built.
However, I am a bit disappointed with the sound quality that I personally find a tad weak in the basses, and a bit too much in the middle tones. Perhaps I’m too demanding, but I would have expected better sound at this price tag.
Been using these for a few months and love them. They look great, sound great but could use more base. I will be looking to hook a sub woofer in the future
Just installed. Easy set up. Size is perfect for desk. But most important…..higher and mid-range sounds are very crisp including some sounds that just weren’t there with old speakers. Obvious this company cares about quality.
These little speakers packed quite the punch in my office space. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, it was that good. I tried Bluetooth to my 16″ MacBook Pro and that left a lot to be desired. The Bluetooth wasn’t great but once plugged back into my macs USB port they shook the desk again!! I love them
I love these little speakers! Let’s be clear, they aren’t main speakers with 8″ or 12″ woofers. They aren’t going to fill a huge room with thumping bass. But as a bookshelf speaker, they are really good. Clear sound, and surprisingly good bass. Also small, so they work on a desk.
I like them so much that I bought a second pair – I use one for my computer and one at my desk. Good value for getting good sound in a bookshelf speaker.
Lacks bass but then can be paired with a sub. Quoted bass 63Hz. Excellent sound overall. Sturdy, can connect a few ways, bluetooth, analogue, but I connect via USB to use the speakers DAC which is well rated.
The sound out of these small speakers, for their size, is best I’ve ever come across. Really good range and bass and you can certainly turn them up without any distortion. Very pleased!
The sound quality is great, it’s clear and loud. Only downside to this is the lack of bass. These barely putout a little bump of bass, but you can buy their subwoofer separately if you want to dish out another $350.
UPDATE: I had to come back to this review months later to gush about how good these sound with the S8 sub. Expensive but you can’t possibly be disappointed with them. Sounds great! Needs a sub but otherwise has fantastic clear crisp sound. Very solid little cubes.
I spent a lot of time looking for a replacement for my old Logitech Z10s with my key criteria being a USB input for my computer and high-quality sound as well as being fairly small. Only ones which seemed to fit the bill were these A2+s.
Arrived very quickly (and well packaged) from HiFix and easy to set up – so far have met my expectations and sound and look great!
Only negatives are that stands are not included and they are a little pricey.
Update: the USB connection malfunctioned on the speakers however HiFix hifi dealt with the matter really well so another plus point for them
Great little speakers with clear, crisp sound. Retains clarity even when boosting volume. Ideal computer speakers with punch. Great value for your money.
These little speakers pack a punch. Great size for large or medium length desks. Whether it’s movies or music your listening to; the sounds are crisp and vibrant. There sturdy and you can tell by their weight made out of quality material. You won’t be disappointed. Would love to add the subwoofer to this set up in the future.
I bought these to upgrade from some pretty decent Bose computer speakers. These are a definite step up. The sound stage is really impressive. The highs and mids are really good, the base is decent but pretty much what you expect at this price point. The build quality is top notch. For about 250 bucks these are a great buy.
I’ve had these speakers for a few months now and there is nothing that I don’t like about them. They look clean and sleek. They’re small and portable, with great sound. I love that they connect wirelessly through bluetooth, but also have the option to hook them up without bluetooth.
I bought these because as I spend more time at home on video calls I got tired of wearing headphones all day but my laptop speakers were not good enough. Had them for a couple of weeks now and they are really clear for calls but also great when the music kicks back in. Unsurprisingly for their size the bass is not the strongest so last week I bought the A8 subwoofer to go with them and that definitely fixed it. Also recommend the wedges to angle them up towards you if you have them on your desk, really make a difference. Perfect setup now, I’m going to miss them when I go back to work.
okay, I’ve installed sound systems in cars, coolers, anything that can take a speaker. These speakers are as clean as my boston acoustics 3 ways I had a few years back.
quality, quality, quality… buy a subwoofer, I used an old computer speaker system subwoofer and hooked it up with a little ingenuity. Can’t wait to get the much larger version of these for the front room.
Hi, I ordered these on a black friday sale after reading about the different speakers in the price range. These were the best out of the bunch so I decided to order them. Very happy with the sound quality. Clear, balanced sound. Very well balanced. I can use them through my computer with a USB cable but I also use them with my Steinberg CI-2 musical instrument interface to listen to stuff I record as I cannot set up two active audio devices at the same time. So, I have to use the headphone output of the Steinberg device and feed it to the AudioEngine input, which works but doesn`t have the best sound quality. Not a fault of this product, however. I think there is too much `handshaking` going through a second device.
I’ve been using a old soundbar on my desk for the last few months but wasn’t happy with the quality.
I searched for new speakers and these had great reviews so bought them to try out – hesitantly at this price though.
They really are the perfect speakers for what I need. If I want to listen to music in the highest quality then I’ll use headphones but otherwise these are excellent for YouTube, casual listening, and gaming.
Pros:
– Excellent mid & high quality, volume, and clarity
– Bluetooth connection plays out at the same time as aux in
– Surprisingly small but doesn’t seem limited by it
– Great design
– Lots of inputs
– Built in DAC
Cons:
– The bundled aux cable should be longer
– Bass distorts at higher volume
– Do they really need to be that expensive?
In short, if you can stomach the cost then these are the best compact speakers I’ve experienced.
These speakers sound amazing. So impressed. Crystal clear sound at loud volumes. My small office can’t even handle them at 3/4 volume. I love the feeling of the air being pushed out of them when I have them loud. Will be buying another set of these or the step up for home eventually.
I own a pair of these speakers for my record player and loved them so when it came time to get a second pair for my studio I knew what I wanted. I’m thrilled there’s a Bluetooth option. It makes all the difference in a studio setting.
My only complaint is that the wires are black. I half expected a white product to come with white wires but oh well. I’m working on cable management soon and will try to come up with something to hide them and cover the exposed parts with a white tape of some kind.
Bluetooth pairing was a breeze with my Pixelbook and Pixel 2 phone. Very sturdy build. Biggest downside is still needs speaker wire to connect them and the power brick is a tad bulky. These are expected with quality speakers. They are absolutely perfect to make a fixed speaker set in your office which was my intended use case anyway. Just don’t expect them to portable given all of the components and the power brick.
Sounds great just as the other positive reviews stated. Got the A2+ speakers two days before the S8 subwoofer. So I was able to evaluate the A2+ with and without a subwoofer. Four stars without, five stars with a subwoofer.
I can easily annoy the neighbors in my apartment with these things. For the size, the bass is really nice and punchy. The things can get loud and the quality is awesome. I love the way they look and don’t mind wiggling my hand in the back. I LOVE the way they look, I think I already said that…. but I really do. Already thinking of getting the S8 subwoofer but will have to save up my pennies.
Only wish is for an off switch so as not to lose the volume setting. But that’s a very small issue.
Things I like
– quality of the product
– good sound quality
– multiple input options
Things that would make them better
– volume control on the front- it is a pain to have to reach behind to change the volume- best option is to have volume buttons on your PC keyboard
– bass is a little lacking – I bought a sub to go with them in the end- they are small so do a decent job but won’t be shaking your floors
I was already a fan of Audioengine D1 headphone DAC; but I wasn’t prepared to be floored by the sound of these.
They are almost like wearing headphones sitting at my computer desk. With an input for PC USB or micro for my turntable preamp (or any analog device), they are beyond flexible. Recommended.
Fantastic pair of speakers, decent audio quality . have been thoroughly impressed using them with my PC for 1 year.
Nice looking desktop speakers and the sound is very clear .
These little speakers are hooked up to my mac and they sound glorious! The A2+ monitors have a nice natural sounding quality to them that other speakers at this price lack. If the recordings good they sound good and if the recordings bad they sound bad. This is how most hi-end speakers sound. They may lack bass but what bass they do produce is natural not boomy and artificial like BOSE. If you want more bass get a subwooffer. However for my tastes I don’t need one.
