Strong Suitability
1. Bandage for easy mirror installation.
Secure the mirror to your existing rearview mirror with straps. If the mirror monitor vibrates when attached to the rear view mirror, please lock the second bar of the straps (instead of the first bar) to strain the strap.

X6B detached front camera is separated from the rear view mirror. You can stick the front camera on the windshield without any obstacle, such as visor or other devices.
3. Two ways rear camera installation.
X6B dash cam comes with two brackets. The rear camera not only can be installed on the number plate but on the back window which is easier to route the video camera.
4. Suitable for van.

I love using this. So much more vision. I mounted it on my dashboard and left the current mirror in place. Cars appear further away but you will adjust. Excellent. I just need to figure how to set the parking mode. I left it in the car once and it drained my battery
It took me some time to install it properly into my Toyota Corolla as I have to hardwire it to the fusebox for its 24-hour surveillance mode. Once it’s done, the hard work pays off.
The front camera is fine – works well in day and night. Rear camera is not as good as the front camera but this is expected.
Although my first screen was faulty which was very frustrating as I had to check everything I had connected and wasted my time, when I contacted the help team by email they responded quickly, and later followed up with an email to check the replacement unit worked OK. Which is unusual but pleasing. Would be 5 stars but a faulty unit isn’t what you want when you have stripped the interior down to fit it neatly. I would recommend though.
This is my 2nd auto vox I left my 1st in the car when I sold it it helped with the deal you need a dash cam with the idiots on the road and auto vox is one of the best .
I am happy with it, view at night could be better, quality with regards vision could do with being sharper at night. Reversing camera is good . All that said I would recommend.

So far it’s been great one thing to look out for is you have to wire it up to always on and ignition on Fuses or it doesn’t work
I have an X6B fitted having been the victim of two hit and run incidents whilst parked. This gives me peace of mind whilst my car is unattended. The front and rear camera images are clear both during the day and at night. As my car doesn’t have a parking camera as standard the rear camera supplements the audible warnings.
My greatest praise is for the after sales service which Gigi provided to me. The rear camera is fitted above my rear number plate. When the hand car wash knocked the camera into two pieces Gigi arranged a replacement camera free of charge and followed up to check that I had received it. Many thanks Gigi – you’re a star.
A great set up. But the installation is not for the faint hearted. My son is a mechanic and has all the tools needed to get a quality install and a neat looking mirror. I have a shooting brake estate which added to the complexity. Don’t expect the mirror only facility to be like the original mirror. It’s not. Not that I can ever see a need to use it as the camera is very clear and you get much more information from the view. Be careful re distances it’s a wide angle rear camera and the vehicles in the view seem further away than they are. Use your wing mirrors when over taking. The adjustable rear reversing lines are able to be set to your requirements this is great feature. Both camera images are more than adequate for the purpose and the recordings are clear. —-a very good set up—-

Good quality picture. Can record. Easily fitted. Excellent product at a reasonable price.
I bought this primarily as a rear view mirror for my Campervan and it does the job perfectly!
As you can imagine there was little or no view from the normal van mirror as the Campervan has cupboards and back seats obscuring the view.
I bought the extension cable for the rear view camera and had it all fitted in under an hour.
When driving all worked well for about 20 mins to half an hour then flickering horizontal lines appeared and the mirror kept view swapping between the front and rear cameras! This happened on 2 or 3 different journeys so I contacted support – Gigi was brilliant and totally understood my problem and within 2 days I had a brand new unit and camera extension cable. After initially swapping the mirror (same fault returned) I replaced the rear camera and hey presto everything is now working perfectly!
I am really pleased with it and have to say I was very impressed with the brilliant customer service I received from Aoto-Vox with a particularly big thank you to Gigi for her assistance!
Both pictures taken 9pm, one shows the wing mirror view, the other shows the dashcam mirror view. Wing mirror picture is as my eye saw things, eg still enough daylight, dashcam picture is actually brighter due to the camera switching to low light mode. In reality, it’s very hard to see much once the light starts to drop a little.

Can’t fault the customer service (upped ton4 stars just for interactive they are), they saw my review, got in touch and did fault fixing, they even sent me a 2nd mirror to see if that fixed things.
Alas it’s the same, at dusk the rear view is barely visible, wing mirrors are very clear.
It’s a shame as the camera is excellent and the customer support is absolutely amazing.
I hope that they look to try and fix the tinted issue that affects this.

Replacing an older model that was mainly a mirror with a small video square in it.
The old dashcam’s mirror was crystal clear and perfect for day and night. It was actually better than the rear view mirror in the car.
This dashcam gives you two operating modes: driving and parking.
In driving mode, the dashcam displays your speed on the left and nothing else.
In parking mode, the entire area is full blown HD video from the camera.
In driving mode, the dashcam is useless as a mirror. The mirror is heavily tinted. During the day, the traffic is just about visible in the mirror. At night, no chance.
Instead I have to use it in parking mode which means that cars appear miles away when in fact that are close.
Even worse is that you get double images, one from the camera and one from the mirror, which confuses the hell out of your eyes (reminds me a lot of the old 3d or SIRDS images that were popular in the 1980s. Stare long enough and you’ll see the empire state building!)
Camera wise, excellent. Quality is way better than my old dashcam.
Safety wise, poor.
I’m going to see if I can elevate this above my mirror so I can see traffic in the rear view mirror.

I don’t use many of the features of this product, but during the two years since I purchased the device, it has done a great job of recording what happens as I drive around my county. The videos are very clear and can be viewed on the dedicated software on a computer, which not only shows the camera footage, but also the location on a map and the speed at which you were driving on each part of the journey. If you select “driving mode”, the dash cam displays your current speed continuously. I don’t tend to use that feature at night though, because there is a residual background illumination across the entire mirror (not visible during daylight), which makes the reflection less clear. Also, whilst the reversing lines may be useful to some, I don’t have them switched on because I find it confusing to watch both those and the reflection in the mirror, which are both visible at the same time. Overall though, I would say this is a great product and there are many available features that the user can select, including audio recording, which could be useful in the event of an accident.
Well featured, good quality and well worth the money. After a few months I had an issue with the rear camera. I contacted Autovox and their customer service (Gigi) has been excellent. A replacement was sent and I’m back up and running.
This is the second auto vox dash cam I have owned, I purchased this as an upgrade to my X1. I cannot fault the product, the new rear camera is design is really innovative and allows for more customisable recording view. The new split screen viewing function is also a nice touch an makes initial set up easier as you can view both angles rather than having to switch views. As an added bonus registering the extended warranty was really easy and the customer service from auto vox has been excellent.
I have been using this V5 dash cam system for nearly 2 years and I am still very pleased with its performance. It works perfectly on my 7 metre left hand drive motorhome. The customer service of the seller is also exemplary, as recently the rear camera stopped working, so I contacted the seller and explained to them the issue. They were extremely quick, helpful and courteous with their communication and a new camera and new signal cable was dispatched to me within days completely free of charge.
Happily the system how now works perfectly again.
I can’t fault it
I have spent HOURS/DAYS looking for a decent dash cam, scrolling through Amazon for so long, finally came across the autovox and thought it looked decent and had decent reviews too, so hear is a run down!
Amazing quality of the front and rear cameras, have installed the rear inside the car rather than our due to seeing reviews about durability when used outside and when exposed to the elements. I have had numerous people/mechanics ask me what brand of camera I have as it looks incredible when running, which I take as good news when thinking about what I’ve purchased!
Now I have to mention Gigi from autovox support. I had several issues with the rear camera failing after taking my car for an MOT, and she sent me out a replacement for the rear camera, which irritatingly still didn’t work, but then sent me out a new front camera (as we’d worked out that the port must’ve been damaged somehow)
Now hard wired and working like a dream!
As with the previous reviewers, the support team as a whole are the best I’ve ever dealt with, sending replacements quickly and being sympathetic to the issues
Buy with confidence because of brilliant customer service. The product is amazing, I bought it for my VW T6.1. I searched on the net to find information on whether the cable would be long enough but could not find anything so took a chance and didn’t order an extension cable. Fitting was very easy and all cables are of high quality and generous in length. I was reluctant to do any drilling of holes and found a solution by taking out a number plate light, feeding the cable through the aperture then replacing the light..very neat. Hope this is helpful. The 12v socket in my van is continuous and there for if I left it plugged in it would drain my battery. This isnt the case with all vehicles but for me I have to remember to unplug!. I am going to hard wire it so will come on with ignition.
Very good product, works very well. After nearly a year of use the unit started randomly switching itself off. I thought it might be a power supply issue. However after emailing Auto-Vox directly I was contacted by Gigi who suggested a firmware update, this was installed and the unit is working perfectly again.
Very pleased, good product, excellent customer service. I even had a follow up email a month later to make sure everything was still ok
Had the V5 for nearly two years now and the unfortunately the rest camera failed but spoke to a lovely lady called GiGi and got a replacement within a few days. Very quick and prompt service. Very happy customer.
Have bought from Autovox before and have been impressed with there build quality, excellent products and the customer service is second to none if there is a problem.
This is easy to install gives a fantastic picture front and back in day or night conditions with plenty of options on the screen menu, would advise to use a class 10 or above memory card.
I bought this to replace my previous Auto-Vox x2, on which the display unit failed after two years. Design still has all the connectors along the top of the display, making it awkward if your mirror is mounted close to the car roof. I can’t use the GPS for that reason as my car has a console around the top of mirror mounting that won’t allow the GPS connector to fit. Removing the SD card is difficult with the camera in place on the mirror, again due to the card slot being along the top edge, right in amongst the connectors and about 1 cm from the bottom of that awkward console moulding my car designers have seen fit to include. New right-hand-drive version with camera on the right side of the mirror is awkward, driver’s side sun visor clashes with the camera if you have the mirror set in a natural position, so have had to angle the mirror such that I have to move my head over to get a proper view out the back. (Ironically, the last two Auto-Vox x2 units I had, with the camera on the left side, worked fine and didn’t clash with the sun visors.) Otherwise this is every bit as useful as the last two, the rear camera view, which I have permanently displayed, is particularly good in low light conditions, almost like having night vision.
I’ve had this camera around 5 months and it has served me very well in that time, all the features are brilliant and the screen is a good size and easy to use. Just a couple minor points… I couldn’t get it to attach to the top of the rear door on my van (which could be down to my own capabilities!) so had to attach to top of license plate which isn’t ideal as anyone could come rip it off. Will be looking into other options.. maybe drill hole in bumper.
The only other thing is that I’ve had to order a replacement cable as it has stopped receiving the signal from the camera.. which again, could very well be down to my own error as I’ve fully insulated/clad the van and at the time thought it would be a good idea to hide cable in the wall but now I can’t check if it’s been damaged inside i.e by screwing through it etc! So.. anyway… when I messaged them to ask for a replacement cable, they are not only sending me a new cable but also a new camera for free just in case!! Gigi from the team has replied to my messages super quickly and been so helpful. Thanks Gigi!! Let’s hope it does the trick!
This is the third Auto vox dash cam for family cars we have bought, they just work brilliantly. Reliable, well made and intuitive menu, and this one has the pull out camera and GPS. Well worth every penny.
