Bought these for my 8 Yr old son and he’s delighted with them. I don’t know how good the quality is for professional gamers, but my son finds them very comfortable to wear and they work perfectly for him. Had to buy another set for my other son as they were more comfortable than the other ones he had.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got these so I could play on PS4. I haven’t tested out the mic gaming yet but the audio is really good and it is super comfortable. I tried the audio watching a movie and I could hear if someone was near me but very distant. Not 100% noise canceling but it is amazing for the prize. On the down side, the led lights only turn on if connected to the console. But other than that these are solid!

This is a basic headset that does as it should. It is not the best quality, but you would not expect it to be for 22.
The build quality is actually quite good and the unit feels robust. It is comfy to weare and the sound is ok. The mic is also of ample quality.
    Cable legnth is good.
It is ideal for occasional use of for children i would say.

Purchase for my daughter to use for her tablet and it’s fair to say structurally they’re pretty resilient. They came as a bubblegum pink colour with protective film, also comes with a microphone this hasn’t been used whatsoever.
All in all these headphones are absolutely fantastic.
They definitely have some kind of noise cancellation giving I’m finding myself shouting at my child to get her attention whilst wearing these.
    The sound quality is fantastic.
Also comes with a switch on the wire to control the volume and also turn the headphones on and off.
Brilliant find very impressed with them!

Decent budget headset – at less than 21 you can’t go wrong. I’m not of the elk to have light up parts on my gaming gear but light up they do and they look okay. On that note the USB lead could do with being longer but I guess there are extension for that kind of thing.

Sound wise can’t find fault – very similar to my 5 year old turtle beaches that cost more. Build quality seems good. Can’t doubt the durability. Happy to recommend!

    Decent budget headse

I got these headphones for my GF and she absolutely love them. They are in a cute pink colour and look really nice.

The sound tho is decent for the price and for what she uses it for. Decent bass and its nice sound for gaming.

I would say is nice for kids and someone that don’t care much for sound quality or anything too fancy.

Considering the price these headphones retail for which is 20.99 I can say you will get a amazing product.
Being familiar with high end gaming products on the market, allowed me to have good comparison.
I simply couldn’t find a fault in these. Obviously, you will get headphones that, to touch, feel cheaper due to plastic that was used and other cheaper material but sound wise, these are booming.
They are not super loud, but they produce clear and crisp sound. What, to me, is most important is well balanced bass and treble while listening to music.
Black shark gaming headset gives that extra kick when needed on the bass side.
LED lights are as they are and they cannot be adjusted or changed. You get rainbow effect and that is it. So if you want flashy headset with good quality sound, on a budget, you won’t make a mistake getting these.

These headphones come in printed cardboard box and inside you’ll find the headphones, and a user manual.

I like the design of these headphones from its white plastic casing to the contrasting blacks of the earmuffs. They are adjustable for a larger head to give an extra 2cm height on either side by pulling the headband upwards. In the fully closed position, it sat comfortably on my ears on my adult sized head. The sponge on the headband is soft and doesn’t feel uncomfortable after long use. The sponge on the earmuffs is the same as the headband and my ears didn’t feel uncomfortable after prolonged use. Adjustment of the microphone is easy as it stays in place when you move it and bend it. It doesn’t try to go back into position either, it stays exactly where you put it. The connections on the headband lead are a USB-A, 3.5mm stereo jack plug, and there is a console converter cable attached for use with consoles. There are lights on the side of each earpiece which are powered via the USB plug on the cable. That is all the USB connection does, it supplies the power to the LEDs in the headset.

The sound quality is decent and does a good job of minimizing outside noise, so the isolation is good. Voices are clear and not distorted and the microphone keeps your voice clean and clear for others to hear. Music is nice as it has a nice bass, which can be deep at times, and there’s no distortion on heavy bass. When the music themes of games are pumping out quite loud, you can hear dialogue clearly, so it doesn’t drown out the voices as it’s nicely balanced. Don’t expect audiophile quality here for this price point but the sound is decent, and I had no problem with the sound quality even though I’m used to expensive headphones myself. I noticed no sound lag from what was happening on screen to what I was actually hearing so that’s superb.

Overall, these are a decent pair of headphones. Not sure how you’d connect them to an Xbox though but they work fine with the PS4 and PS5. They connect to anything with a 3.5mm audio jack and have the converter to split the microphone and audio for the Playstation and PC. Audio quality is decent and for 19.99 (currently 16.99 on sale), I’d say these an absolute bargain for what you get.

Decent sound quality for this price point...

The Black Shark gaming headset is aesthetically neat and has the flair of a stylish gaming model.

The sound is above average and can feel pretty easy on the ears for long periods of 3 – 4 hours without much discomfort.

The price is also decent, so overall a good buy.

Looks great out the box and easy to adjust the headband for a comfortable fit.
Used on a PS4 Pro and also tested on an Xbox one s, works great on both.
Sound quality is good and the mic also works well. Easily adjusted for distance or out of the way when not in use.
Mic can be turned on/off and volume adjusted from the in line switch.
Overall a great headset and a very reasonable price.

    Comfortable with good sound.

This pink headset arrived in a pretty sturdy, lovely matte pink box which is super slick to the touch and a shiny raised artwork of it on the front which causes drag as your fingers slide over it. Removing the little foamy bag from the box and then the headset from that reveals a surprisingly nice looking headset, more attractive that the artwork on the box makes it appear. The finish of the plastic is matte and the “Black Shark” branding and line patterns on the ear pieces are shiny by contrast. It appears to be well made, there are no sharp edges, the soft matte light grey foam earpieces and headband fit nicely and are very soft and smooth to the touch. The cord is matching light grey with a soft and flexible braided fabric covering, a large control block for volume/microphone mute and terminates in a TRS and USB connector. A splitter for dual TS connectors, also braided, is provided. A small manual and 2 year warranty information card are also inside the box.

The headset is both pleasing to look at and to the touch, the pink is very pretty and a good match for my keyboard. The headband is adjustable, and the action is firm but smooth. You can adjust it relatively easily but it’s not going to accidentally expand while on your head. The earpieces are able to move a little independantly of the headband, albeit not far, but there were no issues with it fitting and sealing over my ears for a fully enclosed sound. They’re very comfortable to wear, I didn’t need to adjust the headband thanks to my small head, and after many hours of use had no discomfort. The earpads engulfed my ears entirely so there was no soreness when I took them off from a bit of squished ear.

The sound is surprisingly good, though I did need to use the equalizer for my sound on my PC to fix it some, the sound is colored to appeal to gamers and is a little pronounced in the lower mid range and very bass heavy. I dialed down the bass a little and pulled up the higher frequencies to get it more to my liking. Once you do play with equalization, for the price, you get a decent full range, and you can fix it to be enjoyable for music as well as gaming. The volume control about 18 inches down the cord is just barely exposed, so you shouldn’t find yourself accidentally moving it even when getting animated, it moves very smoothly and the microphone mute switch is similarly well recessed and requires a decent bit of pressure to turn off and on.

The microphone is the weak point of this headset. The metal gooseneck boom is absolutely amazing, it’s very firm, very sturdy, very bendy and will stay at exactly the angles and shapes you can bend it into, no having to bend far further to account for springback. The design of the mic piece itself makes finding a pop filter very difficult, nothing I had from other headsets would fit without getting stretched, defeating the purpose, and sadly, this microphone desperately needs one. It’s over sensitive in the high ranges, so not only is the sound very skewed, it’ll pick up the sound of your lips coming apart to say something, the sound of your tongue flapping while you talk, when you lick your lips and even your saliva ducts squirting. If your mouth is shut, it’ll activate when you swallow and this upper sensitivity makes every “ESS” or “CH” or any word with a sharp start painfully accentuated and annoying for anyone having to hear it. It captures the full range just fine, but it’ll also pickup a flatulating gnat on the window behind you. Turning the mic around so that the pickup isn’t directly facing your mouth alleviates this to some degree, but then it has issues picking up when you speak, and if you dial in the sensitivity to account for that, you start picking up lip movements, breathing, stomach noises, and anything high pitched. The sound of the microphone is similar to Razer Kraken, just not so thin and with worse “essing”. Will your teammates be able to hear you clearly? Absolutely. They’ll also hear every movement your face makes in order to form the words in painful detail. This is however preferable I guess, to one of those cheap super muffled sounding microphones.

There’s a USB connector which does nothing except light up the microphone (solid blueish/purplish color) and rgb moving rainbow under the grey mesh on the earpieces. Obviously if you want this and you’re connecting the sound to your controller, you’ll need a USB extension cable to plug into a live USB port (any will work, USB hub, TV, phone charger etc). It’s pretty but since I can’t see it while I’m using it, I don’t bother plugging it in, they look perfectly nice without it and in fact I prefer it.

Overall, for the price, this is a great headset. If the mic didn’t exhibit the issues I described, it’d be 5 stars.

Nice finish, decent sound and so so mic.

This Black Shark gaming headset shuts out the surrounding noise with the breathable memory foam earcups and has a nice white coloured design.

With this headset, it aims to create a gaming eco-system based on hardware, software, and services, to provide an unmatched, unique gaming experience to gamers. It has a cutting-edge design for accurate positional audio across any game environment. The headset provides ideal comfort throughout gaming marathons, and you can precisely adjust the volume or mute the mic quickly and easily. It has a plug for all 3.5mm audio output devices, adapter for devices with separate headphone and microphone ports, and USB connector to power RGB lighting.

My son loves gaming, so I gave him this headset to try out. We both agree they are suitable for basic gaming needs, but if you are wanting something for more professional gaming, then I would recommend shopping around for a better-quality set.

Overall, this is an affordable and decent quality headset that is idea for standard and basic gaming purposes.

    Review from my husband:

This is a really awesome alternative to all the high-end gaming headsets that cost a fortune! They feel quality. I already have a couple of other black shark products and they haven’t failed me yet, so there’s hope for these as a casual gamer, not a committed gamer lol who is on it 24,7,365. These reproduce decent sound and the mic is sensitive and clear by all accounts. I like the pulsing RGB. It gives a sense that these are more expensive than they actually are. Good solid headphones and excellent sound, great for music too, thumbs up. Mr black shark will keep an eye for more sharky products 5/5

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe only things I dislike about the headset are things other people might love. So here are the things I noticed about the headset themselves. I can hear the game sounds and the people I play with very well, including myself. I can hear the sounds I’m making through the headset but it’s not as an echo it’s simultaneous, which is weird but nice. The microphone picks up sounds really well, but also cancels out unnecessary noise. Its noise canceling to an extent, I can still hear my kid playing if they’re in the room across from my set up, but only if I focus on hearing it above the surround sound the headphones provide. It comes with usb for PC and an audio jack for consoles that are attached to the headphones, as well as a red green detachable audio plug in. It has a super long cord for the headphones, if you play with part of them bundled they crackle so you have to leave the long cord hanging with can be both nice and annoying. The mute and volume switch are super easy to use and the cord has a velcro strip to make winding the cord to put it away super easy. They sit on my head super nicely, I wear glasses and after a long time playing they don’t seem to give me the headache I get with other headphones and they’re not very heavy or tight on the top of my head. All in all they’re really nice quality for the price and I would and have recommended them to my gaming party(s).

This set of gaming headphones look fantastic, my boy tested them on his Xbox and said they are as good, if not bette than his turtle beach recon 70’s.
We haven’t used the led lights as we aren’t using them on a PC so no usb socket to power them.
They are comfy and fit my head as well as my son’s.
    Great for the price!

    First impression:
The headphones are quite comfortable to wear and there is plenty of room in the ear cup – no uncomfortable ears! They are not hard across the top of your head, and the head band is extendable, although I didn’t need to. The extensions are metal, which is a nice touch.
Cables are a good length and a splitter cable is provided so they can be plugged into a computer. The plugs are marked so you can’t go wrong. The phones plug works fine plugged into a mobile phone, and this also works without the splitter cable.
The light show is activated when you plug in the USB-A connector into a computer or a phone power supply. Its optional. Each earpiece has multi-colour LEDs and so does the microphone.
The only real negative is that the microphone does not unplug. This might not both some, but if you just want to listen to a video or some music, then although the mic can fold out of the way to some extent, you can still catch it out of the corner of you eye.

    Packaging and delivery:
The headphones come in a nice cardboard box, and are wrapped in a foam bag, with one for the wires also. They arrived quickly.

    Pros:
    Comfortable.
    Good sound.
    Splitter included.

    Cons:
    Microphone not removable.
Lighting a bit of a gimmick but its optional.

    Conclusion:
I liked these despite the non-removable microphone and the weight is about right for over the ear headphones like this. I’m going to use these straight away and my ageing Phillips ‘phones are going straight in the bin.

    Comfortable with good sound.

    This headset is very good.
No real gamers would buy these though, and part of it is the pricing.
It simply is too cheap to be taken seriously.
On the other hand the materials used are decent and the sound is ok, especially for the price. Don’t expect Razer sound though, but this are many times more expensive.

    Pros:
    – price
    – build quality
    – sound considering the price
    – full set with all the cables

    Cons:
    – sound is not outstanding, a bit of a bass missing
    – the RGB lights are a bit of a gimmick only

The sound jack and usb most both new plugged in to get around, mic and the funky lights on the headphones. They have been great in a laptop and Chromebook for teams calls, zoom calls and a bit of Spotify while working. Good headphones. Glad we trialled them.

These certainly look like they are worth more than 20 pounds so they would make a teenager pretty happy. I’m not sure I’d get these for adult gaming unless you’re on a budget. They are pretty decent, wired and suitable for most gaming platforms.

The RGB looks good and they sit snuggly on the ears providing excellent noise cancellation. The USB needs to be connected for the RGB to work.

The quality of the sound is ok, clear but not as crisp. There’s some bass too which is adequate. In higher volumes the sound quality reduces.

Overall they are quite good for the price and I’d recommend them especially for children or teens.

at this price I expected these to be pretty bad, but I was proven wrong, I was suitable impressed with how good they actually sound, and not just oh better than I thought, but actually really good. My wife is the gamer, so wanted these, and she’s very happy with them, says they fit nicely and are very comfy, and as to sound, excellent.

I have no idea what others are talking about when mentioning the USB cable is too short? it’s on the same cable as the audio, so it’s the same length (unless there’s been a modification in the design since), anyway I think it’s fine. The audio cable has a three bar 3.5mm minijack connector, for stereo audio and microphone, plus they come with a short adapter that spilts the audio into two separate 3.5mm minijack connectors, one for separate stereo audio and the other for the microphone, should your PC have separate outputs.

This Black Shark gaming headset is a great gaming companion for under 20. It is large for girl gamers like me, but the cups feel comfortable on my ears. The sound playback is clear and plugs into my switch via the AUX port. In able to get the colourful led lights, you need to have them plugged into a USB port. It has a minor design fault with the USB cable being too short if you want the lights to go off. Being a Nintendo Switch gamer and not having my device plug into the mains. It is a little annoying I can not have the lights go off during gameplay.

    good value gaming headse

This is a surprisingly good gaming headset from Black Shark. It’s made well and comes in a nicely presented box.

The headset itself is covered in lots of protective film. It seems a little overkill, but the manufacturer clearly wanted to protect all the fancy panels etc on it.

This can either plug into a single 3.5mm phono port or can be converted to twin ports thanks to the included lead. The light patterns on the headphones and mic work via USB, so simply plug into a source to use. Even a powerbank can be used for it.

The top band has plenty of padding and this feels comfy to wear, even with a big head like me.

Sound is more than acceptable for a budget headset. It was tested to chat to a friend and sounded clear and reasonably loud. Even game soundtracks were clear.

Whilst pink may not be to everyone’s taste, I gather other options are available. For my daughter, who loves pastel colours, this is perfect.

Overall, I can definitely recommend this.

    Black Shark Gaming Headset

a good affordable gaming headset that’s perfect for anyone on a budget. these headset will work with about any console or PC.
The USB for me was a little small and needed to be longer. when you plug the headphone jack into your controller for console it means you literally will have to sit close to the console, for PC this isn’t as much of an issue. the only thing the USB powers in the RGB effect on the headset themselves which does a very good job and they do look nice.

the mic was nice and clear and other players can hear me fine. the controller to mute the mic is on the cable along with the volume controls for easy access.
the foam around the ear cups and headband was rather nice there soft and comfortable for long periods.

sound quality is fairly good for the value its not suitable for competitive gamers however perfectly acceptable if your looking a cheap headset just for playing casually while the material is durable.

overall a good inexpensive headset for casual gamers the value is on point for the price. sound and mic quality was acceptable and the RGB effect does look nice however the USB could be alittle longer.

  38. SabineMaurice says:

This Black Shark gaming headset came as a complete surprise. Headsets can be very useful when gaming or chatting online but, I have to admit, I didn’t expect much given the low asking price.

The headset is delivered in a decent presentation box and is perfectly packaged. Removing the plastic from the sides of the ear-pieces wasn’t the easiest since they were wrapped beneath the strap but I got there in the end. The headset itself is remarkably well-designed and it looks and feels far more expensive than it actually is. The padding for the head and the ears is thick and soft, making it comfortable to wear, even for a few hours at a time – and that is an essential point for any gaming headset.

The 50mm sized drivers are nice quality. Whilst not hi-fi standard, which no one could expect for this price, they do give an acceptable sound and most people would be able to adjust the EQ on their computers via their soundcards options. The microphone is perfectly positioned and is a nice shape. It picks up the voice with ease without it sounding too harsh and without any feedback.

The inline control for turning the microphone on/off was surprisingly bulky but at least there would be no fear of having to fumble around looking for it (a failing with headsets and smart phone headphones).

The RGB lighting effects are a bit unnecessary for my taste since, when wearing the headset, the user can’t see the lights anyway. But it is included. To use, the USB plug must be inserted into the device. I notice some complaints that the USB section of the lead is on the small side and some users have experienced difficulty with this option. On the model I was sent, the USB lead is near-enough the same length as the mic/headphone plugs – all at the end of a very long cable. I had no problems plugging all three into my computer’s main sockets, nor in the sockets of my separate sound card. And, since all three plugs are at the end of the cable, I really can’t see how some users have had difficulty using the (unnecessary) lights unless they have USB ports some distance away. Perhaps those users did not have separate mic/headphone sockets and so needed to just use the single 3.5mm audio. In any case, male/female USB extension leads are really cheap – I need to use them for my external HDDs and disc drives, and have never had an issue.

With extremely good build quality for the price, a range of options for plugging it into various devices, an acceptable sound and good comfort, I really can’t fault this headset. Indeed, I can say that it is as good as my own gaming headset which cost twice as much and doesn’t look anywhere near as nice as this one.

The seller has provided great display pictures with a lot of descriptions of each part of this headset and, in all honesty, I just couldn’t fault it – and I am extremely fussy when it comes to my computer equipment. This is definitely worth a try for anyone in need of a budget headset.

Priced at a mere 16.99 at the time of this review, I find this Black Shark gaming headset to be overloaded with features and quality that you would be hard-pressed to find on a much more expensive model. I have decided this will be my go-to for gaming now and my own headset can be relegated to a cupboard as reserve. Given the quality, the design, the sound, the features, not to mention the outstanding price, I have no hesitation in recommending this as a great budget headset, especially for gaming and for some casual online conversations. It does not set out to be a hi-fi replacement but does what it is designed to do very well.

The USB port is to power the lights on the headset which means to get the best from this you will have to get a usb extension and lengthen the cable because in my opinion it makes you stand to close to your PC or games console.
Other than that this is a very good headset sound is really good for the money microphone works really well headset feels quality, good and solid each ear is adjustable to fit your head size.

Looks and feels like a more expensive head set.

I honestly didn’t expect to be blown-away by these headphones, but for the cost they’re amazing!
Sure, they’re not gonna rival the expensive Astros or Steelseries headsets, but for less than 20 at time of writing you could do a LOT worse!
Non-controllable RGB LED panels are inlaid into each ear cup and are powered by a single USB-A plug (solely for the LEDs, it does not carry audio, and does not need to be plugged in if you don’t care about the RGB) and then you have separate TRS 3.5mm jacks for mic and audio, and a supplied joiner to convert it into a 3-pole TRRS plug for a combi jack. They’ve thought of everything.
Build quality is superb with a glossy white finish, comfortable headband and nice click detents for the size adjustment. Everything feels well put-together and there’s no wobble or rattle to speak of.
In terms of audio quality, several people who tried them said they weren’t very far off Hyper-X Clouds, and they absolutely trounced my son’s budget (still more expensive) turtle beaches.
Black Shark are killing it with their budget gaming range and I’m here for it!

Comes with a 4-pin 3.5mm jack plug fitted, and the USB plug is only for powering the lights on it, you also get a splitter adapter to change the single 4-pin plug into the two 3-pin plugs for separate mic and stereo headphones. Pretty cool methinks.

Sound quality in the headphones is pretty good. It’s clear and quite rich and bassy. Mic audio is pretty good too, clear and rich and I’ve been told by my gaming buddies that I sound clear. I found it doesn’t need to be too near my face either, which I prefer.
Fit is good, I have a large head and these fit me fine using the adjusters on the headband.
I think my only small niggle is that the pads started to make my ears a bit sweaty after a while.

Overall for 16.99 at the time of this review these are very good. I’ve had some real rubbish headsets for a lot more than that price, so I reckon if you pay that for a pair of these you’ll likely be quite impressed.

    This is a headset.

It’s a headset that connects to the standard 3.5mm jack plugs (green and pink) on your PC or similar.

The USB connection is just for the flashing spectrum lights on the side, and led on the mic, which are just for fun.

This isn’t a USB sound-card built into the headset, which is worth noting.

So as a headset using the the standard jack plugs it’s okay – I actually think the lights are fun – yes you lose a USB port to drive them, but to be fair you don’t need to turn the lights on to use the headphones and microphone.

In terms of price USB headsets are available at this price point, but tend to be more expensive, and the certainly don’t have the strong design theme, okay that’s the flashing lights this unit has.

I think then at this price point this headset is actually good value as an overall package.

    Headset.

I was pleasantly surprised to se the manufacturer has made no false claims here with this headset. Let’s be clear it’s perfectly fine for the low asking price. If your after a pro level headset then you need to spend the money. Like all the sets in this price range the USB connector is only to provide power to the lights on the headset and nothing else. Refreshingly the listing makes this clear it also only claims to have stereo sound and noise isolating ear cushions. Doesn’t sound like much but this is rather refreshing as it makes no false claims of 3D sound or noise cancellation like some others do. just a honest description yes the usb lead could be longer but other than that it’s all good

In this household, we are certainly no strangers to the Black Shark universewe have used a lot of their products in the past and some are still in use here todayin general, we find their products to be of decent quality and fairly priced. When I saw the inexpensive multi-compatible Black Shark Goblin X1 headphones on offer, of course I jumped at the opportunity to try them out!

The Goblin X1s offer multi-platform compatibility through the included 3.5mm connector. The X1s also feature a clear, bendable, but non-removable microphone and cool-looking RGB lighting that will likely appeal to younger gamers. Black Shark have also made controling the X1s easy by including convenient in-line controls that are always within your grasp.

I couldn’t help but notice right off the hop that the Goblin X1s are an attractive pair of headphones for the pricethey have a nice balanced look to themthey’re not big and clunky, but they also look good and sturdy. They are built mostly of plastic that is reinforced with aluminum on the head-brace and they are adjustable by 2.5 cm on each side. The head-brace is nicely padded with synthetic leather and memory foam for comfort. The ear cushions are made of synthetic leather and memory foamthey look a bit thin to me, but so far, they’ve been comfortable enough to wear a few hours at a time and they have been relatively successful at keeping environmental sounds at bay. These headphones are definitely light enough to wear for extended periods of time without suffering from fatigue.

Soundwise, like most headphones aimed at gamers, the Goblin X1s are bass-heavy to please those who savour their explosions. 🙂 Due to the powerful bass, the low-end of the mids has been scooped out somewhat which causes deep voices to sound kind of muffled and makes them hard to decipher at low volume. But the rest of the midrange has good clarity of detailyou can hear footsteps still off in the distance that are moving ever closer, which is helpful if it’s your enemy coming for you. I feel that the treble has been leashedit’s not as spirited or bright as it could be, causing my Magic Dust to lose some of its “sparkle” . As a result, I wouldn’t recommend these for listening to musicthey just don’t have the vitality and separation of sound needed to create a spacious and dynamic soundstage. Put another way, the sound is clear enough, but it’s lacklustrethere’s no “oomph” to it and not enough depth, in my opinion. For the purposes of gaming, I feel the X1s are passablemany gamers will enjoy their bass-heavy sound profile and will find the clarity they provide to be sufficient.

Since the flexible microphone has omnidirectional pickup, voice capture is pretty much assured, especially since the mic is flexible and allows you to place it in optimum position by your mouth. I’ve used this headset on both Skype and Zoom and was told my voice came in crystal clear, though there is a slight bit of echo here and there, but certainly nothing that would cause frustration to those on the other end. I do really wish that the mic was removable, though.

I know the cool-looking RGB lights will be a main attraction for a lot of younger gamers, but you might want to tamp down your excitement a little because it’s not all rainbows. Sadly, the lights aren’t customisable and, madly, the lights require the very short USB to power them, which is pretty inconvenient and adds some unnecessary bulk. This isn’t a dealbreaker for me because I can do without the lights, but if you are buying these, in part, because the lights appeal to you, these details are likely going to matter.

Overall, these headphones are pretty decent quality, especially for the $34.99 price. Right now, as I write this, a $5 coupon is also being offered which makes them an unbeatable deal, especially for younger gamers who like a bit of flash. We certainly enjoy having ours around as a second pair of gaming headphones and I like using them for Skype and Zoom calls, too, as the mic is pretty dependable. They aren’t going to compete with $300 headphones, but they are pretty impressive for what they are. I hope this review has helped to make your headphone comparison shopping a little easier.

This is a really nice gaming headset by Black Shark. The over all look is gaming style with the lights and comfort headset. The part that goes across the head has cushion for long time wear and comfort. The ear pieces are over ear which are the best for gaming, comfortable and my ears fit completely in them.

The lights are a nice touch especially for a gaming set up or streaming videos.

These work well on our lap tops as well as our ps4 controllers. My son has been using them for the ps4 since they arrived. He likes that they are comfortable, loves the lights and says that the sound quality of the audio as well as the mic are both fantastic.

His friends have no issues hearing him when he is on mic and there isn’t any static.

Over all a nice looking set that is comfortable and has great quality. Fantastic price point as well.

    Fantastic quality, love the lights.

I am just going to say this from the start… At a current listing price of just $25.49!?, there is really nothing to complain about here with this good performing, decent quality headset combo. It’s as simple as that.

    What I really like…
    – Overall PERFORMANCE: They sound quite good and when using these in gaming sessions, I was told my voice was coming in loud and crystal clear as well. Thats good enough for me!
    – The are LARGE.. Yes, I mean that. I prefer a headset with ear pieces that fully cup my ears rather than sort of just sitting on top of them as more compact ones do. They sound better with a good seal around your ear and there is the added benefit of sound “splash” not affecting others who may be in your vicinity and being disturbed by the sound. To me there is really no point of headphones that let everyone around you listen in.. Especially if they are not interested in what you happen to listening to!
    – Generally quite comfortable.. The ear pieces are still that sort of generic memory foam with faux leather covering sort of construction but they are soft. The headband has a good feel for me personally and all combined, I am able to wear these for extended periods (example.. several hours in a World of Tanks session) and I have no real discomfort. Thats a big plus!
    – Decent overall build quality.. For a “Budget” headset, its good.. and it looks good too.
    – RGB Lighting.. While not really a requirement at all for me, the fact that it’s there at this point is just a bonus and when combined with other items such as a Black Shark RGB Gaming Mat the overall effect really adds some nice “bling” factor.
    – PRICE!… Did I mention price? (haha)

In the end, I am quite pleased with the oveall performance and level of comfort I am getting from this Black Shark Headset. It has decent build, looks great, and the price is an amazing value for sure. Is this the Best gaming headset on Amazon? Of course not!…But I think you would be hard pressed to find a better overall headset at this price point. I am giving these a solid 4 out of 5 because I cannot claim them to be “perfect”, but they are very good.

    Highly Recommended!

I can recommend the product and the fantastic customer service and follow up. I had an issue with my product, they were very caring and attentive, I got a replacement and it has been exactly what I wanted. They are very comfortable and have worked great. I feel very satisfied with my headset.

I was so excited, I need to be on lots of conversations on a regular day, so a gaming headset seemed like the best way to go. The Bluetooth options are not that good, but no one could hear me today. I eneded up with the phone against my ear in order to have a conversation where the other party could hear me.

They feel very comfortable. But I won’t be able to use them for I wanted them for.

The headsets sound is extremely clear. When someone is talking you can really hear just how crisp the sound is. The bass is not too bad. I mean, it never really is the greatest on headsets I find, personally anyways. Others may find it more noticeable though. The cord is really long, I like that. But I always end up forgetting that it’s connected to my controller so when I go to get up I always pull my controller to the ground. I’m not sure what the smaller cord is for exactly, a computer maybe? It has a mic, and headphones on it.
You can shut the mic off and turn the volume up from the little black part of the cord.
I’m happy with these ones, my bf loves them. He stopped using his old favorites for these ones so it has to be good. Lol.

As gaming headphones, I haven’t used better. Musically, they are less impressive but that is not why I intend to use them for, so I am perfectly happy with them as they are.

Aside from looking attractive with their overall design and LED lighting features, they are simply very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The support bridge over the head does not cause any pain amd the ear pads don’t produce any undue pressing or friction.

Sound quality is pretty crisp and clean with enough bass response to give your the punch that you want for explosive laden sound tracks. Online communication is clean and clear with both parties hearing each other clearly. The mic is easy to adjust and it stays right where you place it.

Everything about these headphones just works and fits, exactly as I had hoped and it is my opinion that these are everybit as good as others that I have tried at 2x the price.

    Definitely recommended.

If you’re getting this headset, then I imagine it’s for gaming. I can verify it works quite well on a Windows 10 PC. I’m surprised at how well the audio holds up considering this particular unit is lumped in with the “budget” crowd. Going at just $28.99 after factoring in the $3 seller coupon, this is definitely NOT the headset you want to overlook if you’re on a budget.

    Sound/audio quality… check.
    Microphone quality… check.
Cool LED lights…. check. (USB powered by the way)
Build quality… check. (really sturdy frame)
    Price point… double check.

Good headphones for the price. They connect easily over Bluetooth, and also come with an aux cord for wired connection (as well as charger and travel bag)

They feel a bit light so I worry about durability. They’re adjustable and actually pretty comfortable. The sound on them is very loud, but the levels are a bit off. The instrument is usually louder than the vocals, and acoustic music was a bit shaky.

For performance I give these a 3, but for cost I give them a 5.

    Performance is 3/5

As soon as my son tried these out for the first time on his gaming system he announced that these are his favorite pair and tucked away his other ones.
He said the sound clarity and quality are amazing and they really fit his head and ears well.
The controls to adjust the volume or mute the mic are located on the cord instead of the headphones, which he prefers.

If you are searching for a wired headset with a microphone, this is a fantastic product to consider.

Simple in-line controls on the headset wire allow you to precisely change the volume or mute calls without interfering with your conversation.

A noise-cancelling microphone enhances the clarity of the voice.

This plug-and-play headset can be used with any PC or Mac computer without the need to install any software.

Minimizes unwanted background noise for clear conversations

The adaptable connection comes with two adapters, one 3.5mm and one USB, and is compatible with a phone, a computer, a PS4, Xbox, and other devices.

The Noise-isolating Ear Cushions are soft and extremely pleasant to wear for long periods. While using these headphones, you will not hear anything around you. Earcups made of breathable memory foam block out background sounds.

With its adjustable foam headband design, this headband is suited for a wide range of users.

Headphones and headsets span a vast range of price and quality so it would be unfair to compare this $30 Black Shark one to, say, a $300 Steel Series Arctis Pro. You should not expect the quality of the sound reproduction and material to be in the same vicinity and they are not. With that said, what you do get for those $30 is impressive:

    – an adjustable headband (with metal band) that fits large heads
    – paddings above the above the head and around the ears that stay comfortable after a few hours of gaming. They are on the soft side though and could have used a bit more firmness / bounciness
    – lights for the kids and grown-up kids (not true RGB since it’s not customizable)
    – a flexible microphone arm. You can lift all the way to the ear pad to get the mic out of the way.
    – inline volume and mute controls, and best of all,
    – very decent sound quality.

The latter is definitely heavier on the bass but surprisingly not all that bad in the mids and highs. In fact, just a small boost in high-mids using an equalizer produced a much more balanced sound and suddenly vocals that were rather recessed became much clearer. As mentioned in the first line, even with this adjustment, do not expect the clarity and detail of a Beyerdynamic but anybody who is spending $30 on their headset is clearly not an audiophile (and neither am I) and I think most gamers on a budget will be happy with this purchase.

Among the slightly weird quirks of these headsets is the dual USB-3.5mm connectors to separately power the lights and push out the audio. It is understandable at this price range. Headsets that uses USB for audio basically must contain their own internal soundcards since by default a computer’s soundcard is not connected to its USB ports. By going with the traditional 3.5 mm, the designers cut some cost but also let your computer’s or console’s soundcard do the heavy-lifting which in the end may be better for the sound reproduction of budget headset. However 3.5 mm jacks do not push out enough current to power LED lights hence the need for the USB port. I have to admit it is hassle and. if you do not have an available USB port close to your headphone jacks, a genuine pain in the behind so you should definitely be aware of this before buying. In my case, I don’t care much for lighting on something I cannot even see (because it’s on my head) so I leave the USB unplugged. If you can live with that quirk too, then these headphones are great value for $30 and to get to the next level of sound and build quality you would have to triple the price and get something like a Hyper-X Cloud. In the meantime, for gamers on a smaller budget or as a gift to a young gamer these should certainly satisfy.

For the price of $30, these are definitely worth it. Apple Airpod sound quality with Snowball mic quality, enough has been said.

    For more info:
RGB is optional, you can plug in the USB for RGB or leave it hanging.
Headphones feel durable and have soft earmuffs and a soft head pad.
They’re of standard child size and are adjustable for those with smaller or larger heads. If you happen to have a small child-sized head, these headphones will be uncomfortable after a while, but there seems to be no discomfort with normal adult-sized heads.

    [PROS]
Build Quality Mirrors $100< Gaming Headsets Oversized Ear Cups - Fits All Ear Types Without Discomfort Compatible with All Platforms (PC, Mac, Consoles, etc.) [CONS] Sound Quality & Microphone Acceptable [PRODUCT EXPERIENCE] When I initially opened the box to handle the gaming headset, I couldn't believe the build quality given the $30 price tag. I've gone through a number of gaming headsets over the years ranging from $50-250 and the quality of the Black Shark gaming head mirrors my sub $100 headsets which in itself is wonderful. As for the comfort, again I was blown away because it's as comfortable as a Logitech gaming headset x2-3 the price given the Black Shark has memory foam cushions and large ear cups to accommodate any ear size. As for the sound quality, I can tell immediately it's on the lower end however, that's completely fine given this is a budget gaming headset. It's completely fine for non-competitive gaming which requires higher end gaming headsets that allow you to hear enemy footsteps and spells/casting, etc. in detail to identify them better. Moreover, the microphone is also acceptable and more geared towards 'average' in quality; my voice came through clear in discord however, my high end Razer and Logitech gaming headsets could be heard much clearer. In any case, I really appreciate the Black Shark gaming headset performing this strong for $30, great for kids or adults on a budget.

Isolamente suono quasi perfetto e cuscinetti comodissimi over ear.

    Rapporto qualità prezzo super!

My grandson is a full on gamer. Anything that aids in his gaming is a bonus. This headset can be used with several devices. The cord has several types connections so it can be used freely. The mic can be adjusted to any position and lights up. The headset itself is LED lit and has a nice colour sequence..looks great in the dark. Will definitely provide hours of gaming entertainment for sure.

    Fit:
This is only for people with large or bigger heads. Mine is pretty big, and I didn’t have to increase the size on these at all. The smallest they’d go to fit me just perfectly.
    Comfort:
No problem wearing these for extended periods. No hot spots, no sound leakage, nothing.
    Sound:
While not audiophile quality, these do sound quite good for gaming, music, and phone calls. The mic has a problem with feedback, likely because it doesn’t have a windscreen. You can get those fairly cheap here on Amazon.
    Cord:
Plenty long at 2.15m – 2.35 with the speaker/mic splitter in place. Of course, the USB plug for powering the lights is only 2.15m and doesn’t have an extension. There’s a control pod mounted in-line for volume control and mic muting. It’s very large and easy to find, but for some reason the controls are both tiny. Go figure.
    Price:
At $30, these are very cheap for gaming headphones. Makes me wonder how long they’ll last, but if they break at least you’re not out a ton of money.
    Conclusion:
Definitely worth trying out if you’re on a budget. Just give some serious thought to buying a mic windscreen.

Great for the price but honestly they could have dropped the lighting altogether instead of doing it this compromised.

    pros:
    – The sound quality is pretty decent on the earphones and I sounded clear on the microphone.
    – the cord is braided and connections seem pretty tough and durable.
    – in-line mic mute and earphone volume buttons
    – overall the padding is thick enough to be comfy

    cons:
    – the whole headset works via 3.5mm (the plug is a phone style where you use 1 plug for the earphones and mic and it comes with a splatter for the pc’s pink/green plugs) BUT the rgb needs to be plugged into a usb port to work AND the usb cord split is very short so unless you are using it on the pc, you can’tuse the rgb lights.
    – no controls for the lighting
    – the padding material is not breathable so it gets pretty hot quick and feels like it’s not going to last super long.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have used and reviewed a number of headsets both gaming and not so much. Some are outright garbage and some are surprisingly good. This one is in the suprisingly good category with a couple issues.

    So, lets get after it!

I’m pretty picky about my headsets for gaming. I want comfort, good sound, strong build quality, and a good mic.
The Black Shark covers most of that but has a few shortcomings.

The key thing here though is this has a crazy low price of $40CAD.

The build quality is decent. A metal headband that is very adjustable and fits my giant noggin very comfortably. Quite comparable to my Logitech Pro. Earpieces are the usual plastic with memory foam and cheap fake leather on the cups.

This one also has pretty (but quite pointless) RGB lights on it. Not a huge selling point for me, but the kids like it. Problem with this though is the RGB lights are not programmable as there is no dedicated software for it. Also, no way to turn them off except to unplug the oddly designed USB cable that exists solely for powering said lights. I really don’t understand that idea at all. I would rather the USB work as most gaming headsets do; as an audio connection. To include a USB connection that functions solely as a power supply for the RGB lights is, lets be honest: really, really, really, really, really, REALLY stupid.

This headset has a rather bulky and awkward 3.5mm adapter with both the aforementioned USB and 3.5mm Headphone mic jacks on the same cable. WHY???? It literally requires three inputs if you want to have the purdy lights.

Another issue is the mic and the headset cable are NOT detachable which is a pretty big bummer for me with any headset as you’d like to be able to use it for other things. The attached main cable sets it way back in terms of versatility compared to others like my Logitech or Alienware which both have detachable cables.

Also, since there is no dedicated software, there is no adjustable side chain feature. Side chain allows you to hear your voice in the headset so you don’t YELL AT EVERYBODY!!! You can do it via the Windows sound control panel where you use the “listen to device” settings but unless you’re running some high end gear, there is almost always lag which causes a weird echo effect making it for me, annoyingly unusable.

I honestly don’t get why these no-name importers cheap out on the software as it could make a HUGE difference in how functional and useful the product is. Black Shark is a little more known than most of the import brands on Amazon so they deserve a little more criticism in that regard. I should also mention that Razer also makes a product line called Blackshark so don’t confuse the two. I don’t know how there hasn’t been some legal action on that front. Anyways…

The mic sound quality is excellent. Unfortunately, the way it’s designed it wont sit straight in front of my face and no matter how many times I adjusted it, it would go back to a 45’ish degree angle pointing up at the ceiling. There’s also a blue light on the mic, but again….doesn’t add to the quality. Huge strike for not being removable or at least, retractable.

Sound quality in general is actually pretty good. It could be better if they had made software for it, but I’ve covered that already. In a typical night of gaming, I used it in Destiny 2, The Division 2 and iRacing and it worked very well and produced quality sound in all three. It works very well with music too but again, the mic doesn’t detach…so there’s that.

The volume/mic mute switch is a reasonable size and shape and unlike the last headset I reviewed, isn’t ridiculously heavy or placed in a really dumb place along the cable.

Another beef I have with headset manufacturers is the use of this awful fake leather on the earpieces. If you’re making a gaming headset, you know people are gonna get sweaty and the faux leather feels gross after a while. It’s physically comfortable as far as the memory foam goes, but gets slimy regardless.

Bottom line is a few flaws aside, it’s a very good headset especially for the money so I have no issue recommending this for the most part save the few issues I mentioned.

A decent gaming headset with a few flaws

This “Black Shark Gaming Headset” is outstanding. The best part of this product is that the microphone and both sides of the headset lights up. The lights are very colorful. The ear sockets fits well around the ears. It fits comfortably and it’s not like other handsets that feels tight or squeezes the ears against the side of the head. The metal microphone wire is flexible. I like that the volume and mute button are attached on the wire to control it and not on the headset. It makes it easier to reach. The sounds are very clear while playing videos games on PC Definitely worth having! I highly recommend it. The product was nicely packed in a box and delivery was fas

Comes nicely packaged and exactly as shown in the listing. Decent feeling materials free of excessive plastic squeaking. Ear cups and head band are soft and comfortable and the cable length is generous to satisfy almost every situation. RGB effects are subtle but still nice inclusions none the less. Would have to say that the microphone pickup is crystal clear with decent amounts of noise isolation which is completely unexplainable given these aren’t powered by default (and when I was testing the mic) and kind of goes against the omnidirectional pickup claim in the listing. Audio output is decent, not top of class, but nor should it be at this price point, will say they function well and are able to reproduce clearly, with nice bass response as well. The inclusion of a breakout connector for separate microphone and audio outputs is nice as well.

In terms of cons, these are not a single connection headset. The 3.5mm plug is the only way to get audio in, and the RGB effects are powered by the USB. If you only use the USB port, you don’t get any audio unfortunately. The biggest issue for me would be that these seem to be made for larger heads; In the smallest configuration my adult head was only JUST large enough for these headphones. I would say kids likely need not apply, but if you find that most other headphones don’t get large enough, this will likely be perfect. Final nag would be the small mute switch, it is inline on the cable with the volume roller, and is actually very easy to miss, especially during a gaming session.

Overall, if you’re looking for a decent headphone, this is a decent bet. Great quality microphone and decent audio makes games very enjoyable and immersive for sure. Some of the connivence features aren’t as great, like the mute switch and inline volume roller. But the biggest hold out would have to be the size, if you know you have a smaller head, these may simply just be too large for you (i.e. top of your head may not reach the head band) which is unfortunate. Otherwise pretty impressed at the feature set especially given the price.

Sealed retail packaging. Well protected. Weight is acceptable. Headband has nice stiff stepped adjustments on both sides. Padding is thick enough but not perforated. Ear pads are nice sized and thick but also not perforated. Connection cable is long, braided and flexible but the controller for volume and mic mute is too large. The mic is on a flexible goose neck with a lit mic but the length is no adjustable. The headphone lights are bright and optional if you plug in the USB connector. The lights work with or without volume and are not adjustable. The sound is decent and full with no distortion and loud volume.
Overall good looking and comfortable but can get hot .

    ice looking and good fi
