    Dislike:
No grout cutter included( more of a disapointment0
saw blades not sharp struggles through timber
limited depth of cut entails bringing in hand saw on thicker pieces

    Like:
    As Sander
    overall still recomm
    end it.

I have now realised there are better value products in the market place. On reflection I could have shopped around more and saved some money. It does seem robust, bit disappointed at the availability of replacement blades etc. one needs to be aware that not all of them fit! the tool seems solidly built and as headlined has power. Time will tell.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have had this product now for 3-4 years and safe to say it is a trusty servant in my tool box, I use it a lot for delicate or fine cutting. I tend to use up a lot of blades though but that is because of the shear amount of cutting I do and that none of my other tools are suitable. For some things a mini-circular saw would be far superior but for me not worth the expense.
Cons: After this amount time it does get quite hard to use the quick release.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersUsually, I wait a couple of months to review, but this tool has just amazed me with its versatility. Currently doing up a house (DIY) and bought a whole bunch of tools (table saw, mitre saw, jigsaw, reciprocating saw, drills, sanders, etc..) but there have been so many times where this one just becomes my first go to tool when cutting flush to walls, architraves, stud wall (wood, aluminium), sanding, etc.. Love this tool!

Bought as a gift but was fortunate enough to get a hands on demo. Excellent build quality, easy quick lock mechanism for the blades as well as an Allen key lock for original style blades. The blades that come with the machine aren’t up to much, but these can easil be purchased separately and are consumables anyway, so won’t hold that against it.

Also comes with sander function and fittings, some sand paper and an extractor hose for dust removal. All in all a very sturdy bit of kit and very tempted to get one for myself now.

Bought this tool on a whim after using my friends and not dissapointed. From cutting air vents in a door, to trimming skirting while it’s stuck to the wall to cutting fiddly shapes so my boxing in fits snuggly, it is brilliant for precision cutting where you can’t get a saw in.

The blades are clip on and secure. The power dial is easily adjusted and offers more control to start off the task when on low and you can instantly ramp it up to finish off the job with speed with faster cutting.
I’ve used it for plunge cutting and at an angle for accurate trimming and it excels at both.

There are more powerful and expensive versions on the market but this is robust and powerful enough for most jobs. Well worth investing.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent tool for a variety of jobs. It has proved invaluable with remodelling my living room. From cutting into door jams, precision cutting laminate flooring, cutting floorboards for access, cutting holes in metal back boxes… it have saved me so much time and hassle. the only thing to bear in mind is making sure you have the right blades. The moment the wood saws hit anything metal it will come out looking like a guest on Jeremy Kyle, i.e. only having one tooth left. You will want to invest in one of the circular blades only with the mounting raised as a minimum. Don’t press too hard when sanding or you will melt all of the velcro hooks.

Not the highest speed is the best for everything. I used it mostly on the top low setting as it was optimal for everything and made less heat. Easier handling less noise.
    (n)
Scraping function is not too effective but probably none of these kind of devices. I expected more. Probably the sharp blades could have waves like bread knifes to accommodate the fast side movements.
Sanding works well but need to move the head and stop some times. Re-fit the sand paper. To avoid overheat move it around and that is it.
Cutting wood really needs the proper blade for the actual task. So you need to order extra blade sets.
You should not cover the vent holes.
You might need to run it unloaded for a few second to get it cool down slightly after 5 -10 minutes heavy runs. But it is normal as what can you possibly do for such long run time with it? Running it unloaded for a short time is an efficient way to cool it not just putting it down straight after use.
You are free to move it 3D during a cut so it is hard to cut strait. This is also an advantage..
Also your hand can run suddenly and you cut/scrape more than wanted. But it is mostly just with scraping.
Metal cutting is fine. It can stuck and break the blade as any other machine. Need to be clever. Not the highest speed is the best for everything.
    (+):
Blade sets are cheap and good by Antler for this device.
It is robust metal as hell.
Mostly all kind of needed blades comes with it. But the ceramic/concrete cutters. It is not it’s main purpose anyway.
    (-):
The dust can freely get inside through the big vent holes.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI was initially going to go for a Bosch or Makita multitool but this got pushed to me by a salesman. I’ve been using it to cut skirting, cut holes both in wooden panels and plasterboard, cut stuck screws, sand paint off of aluminum boxes etc. I can say that it does an excellent job for all it’s intended purposes with a few caveats.

The tool feels great in the hand, though in the highest power settings the vibration can become unbearable after a while.

The cutting knives may wear off easily, but they’re not that expensive or hard to find where I live.

The quick tool change system is a great feature, I haven’t tried the adapter with other manufacturer’s tools, but it is included.

For sanding it does a great job with the provided abrasive pads. I’ve read complaints in other reviews that the velcro that attaches the abbrasive pads would melt and tear off. That’s not a problem with this tool it’s a problem with any multitool in a sanding application if not used properly. You have to keep the whole pad plunge to the surface you’re sanding and move it around the surface to avoid heat build up.

While it does provide a dust extraction system for the sanding attachment it does not provide dust extraction for cutting applications which is not a terrible problem considering the nature of the cutting done with this tool.

My biggest complaint with this tool is the heat build up in the motor after prolonged use. After 5-10 minutes it becomes unbearably hot and you need to turn it off to cool it off. I’ve never used any other multitool to know if this is because of the nature of the machine or if it’s a problem with just this model.

It’s relatively low noise. My vacuum cleaner is louder than this tool. Again I haven’t had a multitool to compare the noise levels, but one of the selling points was it’s low noise operation. I say relatively low noise because it’s still loud and can become annoying after prolonged use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis Black & Decker multi oscillating tool has come in handy for so many jobs!! I have used it on my boat as a sander and cutter, in the bathroom to remove silicon …. the list is endless.

The tool is robust, highly finished and most of all works a treat. It comes in a sturdy carry case, and the included accessories are of top notch quality. The fact that it can also take third party accessories is a big plus, as these could prove easier to find.

I have since bought the cordless version too, which shares the same premium quality.

I bought this on a bit of a whim, but it has helped sort a couple of problems from sanding a sticking door, to cutting through a half dozen 2″ x 1″ wood (and cutting a couple of tenoning joints on each 6 ft length). It may not be a great job, but without this, it would have been an impossible job.

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersI bought this recently after seeing a friend’s Fein version and realising it would do loads of jobs I needed to do when re-fitting my kitchen. The B&D name (mainly the fact you seem to generally be able to get B&D accessories anywhere) and the quick release tool attachment were what attracted me.

As it comes, the tool has been brilliant but…

    1) The blades don’t last very long

    2) There is very little choice of B&D replacement blades and they’re expensive when you can find them

    3) The tool is compatible with DeWalt and Stanley quick-release blades which appear to be just B&D under another guise

    4) It seems like Worx Sonicrafter Hyperlock blades can be used, but those are also a bit rare and expensive

    5) There’s an adapter that supposed to work with everyone else’s blades, but it’s not very good.

    6) Saxton do a range of blades for the Worx/B&D/DeWalt/Stanley devices but they have a very limited choice compared to their Bosch/Fein options. Most notably they don’t do an offset circular fitting; their segmented blade is just flat like the one that comes with this machine.

Overall I’d say I’m generally pleased with this but, unless B&D can improve their adapter, I think you’d be better off adding the extra and getting the Bosch PMF 190 E.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving borrowed and used this type of cutting tool before I knew how good they are to perform jobs that you can’t do easily with conventional tools. The best example I could think of is cutting round the bottom of skirting and architraves to slot under laminate flooring, it’s also really useful for cutting channels into plasterboard neatly, I’ve wall mounted two flat screen TV’s aided by this product.

I bought this Black and Decker product during Amazon’s Lightning deal for a really good discounted price of 49.99, the product is really solid and robust coming with a good selection of cutting / sanding bits shown. I really like the quick release system this tool has for fitting the bits, much better than messing about with an alum key as you might with others. The tool is quite large but still quite useable and it is actually possible to get everything back in the box once you have used it. Reading the other reviews on this product I would agree with the point about the sanding bit, after using it briefly I found that the sanding pad vibrated off the plate it was meant to be velcrowed to during use. The only other point to note with this product from past experience is that the bits go blunt quickly and they are expensive to replace.

In summary brilliant product, at 80 – 90 you will be happy, if you manage to get it on an Amazon deal for 49.99 you feel really happy and that you have got good value for money.

Didn’t really expect anything else being a Black & Decker, But boy does this thing deliver very powerfull .
I would recommend earplugs as this unit is very very loud, Hope you get on with your neighbors you might not after using this but then your not really baking cakes with this .Very good at what its made for which is quite a few jobs.

Bought this tool to enable us to undercut doorframes enabling laminate flooring to be fitted underneath. The tool was easy to use; it came with two different cutting blades and has adjustable running speed. We could not have done the job without it. First class tool!

Have used this for a number of different jobs now.
Seems a good machine with adequate power
The blades do not last very long & are expensive to replace, but a very useful tool, especially in confined spaces
    Good value at 60

I bought this tool as I was laying laminate flooring and needed to cut the flooring under the door frames and around stairs.

I was impressed at how quickly the blades where to change and how easy the plunge action made cutting around difficult areas.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI used this to cut old skirting out and used titanium blade from saxton for nails is easy to use but if you have weak wrists could be a problem I could still feel vibration an hour later another problem is that its says dust extractor fits most hoovers well most people I know have dysons and it does not fit onto their hose pipe think this needs looking at by black and decker as I try and buy their products before any others

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersAfter a long research I bought this tool-my first two were this one and Bosch PMF 180. The main reason I choose this one is its power-300 watts.

I start using it recently and I am quite satisfied with it. If you have a DIY project this tool will certainly help!
