    Yes value for money.
But only good for using like a screw driver.
    So I’ll give a 7 out of 10

This lightweight, but sturdy tool does a great job. The battery seems to last for ages and the drill motor itself is powerful enough for odd jobs around the house. It’s probably not something a pro builder would use, but for home use, it’s just the ticket. Very pleased with it. Thank you.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPerfect for DIY. Well made . Bought to replace a black decker ni cad thirty year old drill which finally expired just last week this has lots of power and drills into brick easily with hammer action. I have been using battery drills in the trade ever since the first appeared.
I am now retired so this drill will suit me fine. You can rely on black and decker who make DeWalt.
I would suggest that you purchase a 3 hour battery if you intend to use this for long periods . The 10 mm chuck is ideal for DIY use.
This is the best drill on the market at the price by far.

Ive used this for drilling into masonry walls, bathroom tiles, and wooden front doors. It’s help up very well for all the DIY jobs I’ve thrown at it. Would advise purching the extra bit set to go with it.

Superb battery drill, I have always been a fan of Black & Decker products and have used them for all my DIY jobs over many years, this new drill has all of the power needed for most diy jobs and is very compact so as to allow for tight spaces. I would thoroughly recommend it to any diy enthusiast for general use as it has good battery life, plenty of power and is very reasonably priced.

Great value. It is not overly strong. Good enough for most DIY but drilling through some of the brick in my house has turned out impossible. Still glad I bought it. It’s a good price and does most things

It’s not as powerful as my Bosch SDS+ wired hammer drill but I did stick a wire brush adaptor into it and used it to get rust and loose paint off gates and railings before painting and it did a smashing job. It’s also a very handy portable screwdriver with plenty of torque settings. On top of that drills holes.

I have bought this along with drilling set and absolutely loved it.

I’m rarely using this and battery life is quite good, it’s little weight to handle since I have not used to it any DIY myself but it should for its purpose.

    I will recommend this.

Not for use in trade environment to be honest but my son and his partner needed a new battery gun for their new house and this replaced my old brushless Makita that was costing 3 times the price of this just for a service.. (it got binned) this works great and does exactly what is needed in a domestic environment and does it very well with no worries about durability

It’s got a perfect grip, relatively lightweight.

Really powerful little drill. Very easy to change bits (no key). Lots of power for a cordless. Obviously very well put together. Offers more that all the others that I considered at lower price. Has torque settings and two speed gearbox plus variable speed control via the push button. Comes with a case (if that matters to you) although it is larger than the drill by some way so would take up more space if you decide to use it: I don’t.

  25. BruceAdcock says:

Easy to use and used on brick outside and was super easy to use.
Keyless chuck so easy to change from drill bit to screwdriver attachment.
Speeds are easy to change and button on side is handy to switch directions.
Only slightly annoying part is you have to remove the battery to store in the case.

  26. StaciaSavery says:

I purchased this drill complete with two batteries and a hard case as it was cheaper than purchasing a single, let alone twoinbatteries for a perfectly serviceable Draper 18v drill.

Black and Decker produce good tools as a reasonable price and I am very pleased with this purchase. It isn’t as well made as some competitors, but the price difference and an accepted brand name make up the the reduction in quality. So what does the drill do?

    +. Two drill speeds
+. Hammer drill option – it will penetrate hard masonry at a reasonable rate.
+. Keyless chuck which holds both drills and the included screwdriver attachment firmly
+. Torque control with 10 settings

The drill is very compact and is quite light, which might suit an older user.

Overall a great little drill, two batteries, light and more than up to the job for those like me, who require a drill periodically.

This is my 1st drill so I had to go online in search of videos how to use. A good manual would be useful. It doesn’t come with bits so I had to order these separately which delayed my diy. The box it comes in is strange as it’s not obvious how to fit the drill and battery back in for storage.

I bought this to install my ring doorbell and for a couple of jobs inside the house. Because I live on my own and I’m not very good at this sort of thing I ask my landlord to come round who does a few odd jobs whenever I need them. He was so impressed that’s the drill that he brought with him he decided not to use because he said that this one was far better and also he was very impressed with the ‘Black & Decker’ drill bits that accompany the item. I do have to point out that they are bought separately through ‘Amazon’ because they don’t come with the drill itself.

Great little drill for the price. Looks like it will do all we need it to and more and in this price range it was by far the best. That is Unless you took a chance on a Umbungo make which looked more enticing with two Batterys that promised the earth or went for a item with less spec but a well known brand with a history to fall back on.

The drill itself is fine (though comes with no bits), no issues with the chuck like some others have mentioned.

My only real complaint is that getting it back into the case afterwards is a chore, the case either falls apart or won’t close for some reaso

Did my research for a cheap cordless drill to do a shower install. This one fitted the bill. Needed to drill both wood, metal and masonry and it did this no problem. It comes with a plastic carry case but it would be handy to show where the charger goes when returning it to the case as there are numerous plastic shapes inside the case so it was a bit like doing a jigsaw to see if the part fits. Worth the money though.

I only need a drill for small household jobs and this fits the bill nicely. It is easy to operate and has plenty of power in it. I also like the fact that it’s red as it’s easy to see as i’m always losing things. This isn’t my first Black and Decker product as I have a scorpion saw which I love and it’s great to see that the quality of their items is consistent.

I already have one of these drills, but when I saw this one, with gears and hammer action for 50 quid, I had to have it. I use my other one for screws and this one for drilling holes. Very capable piece of kit. Batteries last a good while, but take a good while to recharge as well, so I have a couple of spare batteries on standby.
Well worth the money, and get used all the time.

I did not have high expectations but so far have been quite impressed. All functions work and the hammer function was really impressive. Battery life is a concern as there is no way of establishing the remaining charge so other than waiting until it goes flat the life cannot be determined. Perhaps the new 2.0 a/h battery will have an indicator. At this stage I cannot comment on its long term efficacy.

It was more than up to the job of a couple of solid pine furniture flat packs and by that I mean a large sideboard with cupboards and drawers and a tall bookcase with a cupboard underneath! I was sick of swapping my drill bits and screwbits with my single drill so had a biggish project coming up so bought this on the off chance. It’s a really nice little drill, battery life is good, and is powerful enough to do most common DIY jobs. If you have some tough stuff to get through, then this might not quite cut the mustard, but everything attempted so far, it’s been perfect. Light is really bright and the trigger offers smooth control. Its well balanced which is surprising and represents good value. My only real critique is having to remove the battery every time I put it back in the case, my Bosch stores with the battery connected. It really isn’t a big issue, just more of an annoyance. Battery charging is quick and it will serve you well if you need a backup or like me something to use along side another. Great Drill, Good Value, recommended.

The power, weight and battery life is excellent. The power tends to be better the less force you apply and let the drill bit do the work, I have found this bit of kit well worth the money and it is so handy without the lead interfering with the drilling operation, because the drill is more versatile in smaller spaces.

I bought this after people have reviewed saying it drills brick, i bought masonry bits and made sure it was fully charged but this doesn’t drill brick at all and now I have a mess on my walls from attempting to put up some shelfs. Pretty frustrating now i will have to pay someone to do it, which defeats the purpose of buying a drill in the first place.

This is a cracking little drill. Comes in its own carrier with single battery and charger. Easy to use – battery snaps on perfectly and charger easy to connect. Instructions give clear guidelines and useful tips. It does not come with any drill bits. I had bought some Bosch drill bits at a brilliant price. The universal keyless chuck takes these no problem!. A little unit it may be but powerful with wood/ metal/ masonry (hammer drill) giving it no problems. Highly recommend this product. Superb household item to own. Great price.

I am no carpenter – this is my first drill – but it is so easy to use and very good for wood and plasterboard projects. I have not tested it on metel. It does seem to have some trouble on masonry. I may need to purchase a cheap wired hammer drill for these jobs as it takes a long time to get through comcrete and brink. All-in-all though, a great product and extremelt reasonable. The design has remained basically the same form decades and for good reason. Five stars despite the lacking hammer drill functionality, as it is still very good value for money.

I got this for basic household diy, I’ve gone a bit diy mad since buying it. The battery life is second to none, I’ve only charged it once since having it and it’s had a lot of use. I don’t think it would be powerful enough for heavy use but as a basic drill it’s been brilliant.

Bought to put up a new blind so had to be drilling holes for plugs through plasterboard on one side and concrete the other (old rough walls).

The drill worked effortlessly through plaster but struggled through concrete as expected – however, after a short shut down it was back to it and completed both holes.

Haven’t used it yet on anything else but feels well machined, comes with a solid case and charger and looks the part in the shed.

Would recommend and was worth saving 20-30 over buying a premium brand.

The tool itself is great, esp for the price – powerful enough for any kind of drilling, as well as handy for other purposes. Only gave it 4**** because the kitbox is not useful – it only fits the thing fully dasassembled, i.e. in transportation mode, and not suitable to store it at home when you need the tool pretty often.

Handy when working up ladders and in awkward spots or where there are no powerpoints. I have a 35 year-old wolf mains drill that has seen off many others and will batter it’s way through anything, but power leads really are a thing of the past. If this drill proves resilient maybe the wolf can retire.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat bit of kit for someone that needs something stronger than a 6-8v screwdriver (ones shaped like a gun). Can handle all you might want to do within your household with ease. Great torque and battery lasts ages. Can’t beat that price either!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersPleasantly surprised at how good this drill is. Good for both screwing and drilling even into masonry. Uses same battery as other B&D tools so adds to the battery numbers you hold and charge. Very light – so much easier to use when compared to my 10 year old cordless drill.
