Nice and quiet my asthma has greatly improved overnight so cleans air effectively
Used in bedroom to aid little one with Asthma. Very quiet & leaves air feeling fresh.
I bought the air filter as there is a few log burners around and live near a main road which can create a lot of dust. LOVE my new air filter and it’s not noisy at all on the lower setting.
Excellent product. Quiet and quick get rid of odours and clean air. My husband has allergies using this air purifier has helped him massively.
Works really well, especially to reduce dust, mould, and improve air quality. I use it in my bedroom. The device is particularly useful during the winter months when I cannot open my windows due to the cold, and neighbours burning coal.
I have 3 dogs and a very dusty African Grey parrot. This is a game changer. The outer cover noticeably collects hair and larger dust particles, the inner is undoubtedly removing allergy causing particles from the air. All my hay fever type symptoms have disappeared and we only need dust once a week instead of every couple of days. Even then there is far less dust than there used to be. Excellent value too. I’ll be getting another for the bedroom as the difference to my quality of life from breathing clear air again is phenomenal.
The Blueair Blue Pure 411 is one of the most cost-effective purifiers in the Blueair range and it works well. There are cheaper brands on the market of course, but the Blueair Pure 411 is head and shoulders above the resat of the pack. It has 3 power settings, and the night setting really is quiet – if for no other reason, this was a huge factor in my making the decision to go with Blueair.
However there are a few things that you need to be aware of. First of all, the much-toted “minimalist design” is a bit too minimalist. Having no handles or even some kind of grip means it has no way of being carried easily: you have to use both hands if you don’t want the fan business end to fall off. And that leads to the second challenge: its centre of gravity. All the working parts are housed in the top white section, so it is totally top heavy. The blue section is just the filter housed in a very light-weight casing. So it becomes unstable if placed on a carpet, but if you don’t plan on moving the unit, all well and good. If, like me, you move it from room to room, then that’s when you find out just how easy it is for the motor hosing to simply fall off. The other factor is that the power cord hangs down from the fan unit – not at the base. This presents a trip hazard, made worse by the “upside down” plug .
Performance: using on full power to purify a room before you are going to use it (i.e., a bedroom before bedtime) then reducing to the lowest power during the night DOES have a very positive impact on air quality even with the door ajar. On nigh-time performance alone, I’d give it a 5* rating. (An obvious but true point – PLEASE remember that almost all purifiers have a fan – this COOLS THE AIR! ON the lowest setting this isn’t really an issue, but on medium and high settings it does create a draft.
I really wanted to give this unit a full 5-~Star rating. It has a quality, no gimmicks feel to it, and it performs very well just so long as you don’t knock it over and don’t move it from room to room very often. However, despite it being just a bit TOO minimalist in its design, I DO recommend it and I’d certainly buy again.
Addition: a reviewer has complained about the smell of the filters. With a brand new filter, there was a slight odour but this went away after just the first few hours of operation, so as far as I’m concerned, that is NOT a problem.
bought this to back up other things i have in my bedroom for breathing in mould spores from problematic condensation. the air feels fresh and already feel it’s improving the quality i breath in.
You can barely hear it on the lowest setting so it stays on all nigh
This is the 2nd one in our small home and we love how much cleaner the air is and how much dryer the house feels with the silent, subtle movement of air this produces. We have both of ours running on level 1 24/7 – one in the bedroom and one in the corner behind the TV room in the lounge, both areas that used to suffer worst with damp and mould. Since having these and a dehumidifier in the house, we don’t cough any more, there’s no mould, and no smell of damp. Good investment.
We have 2 dogs in the house and I also suffer with seasonal allergies. I recently purchased the bigger Blueair Pure 221 for our bedroom and was so impressed I bought this smaller Pure 411 for my home office.
They have been a game changer for me. The air in the room feels so clear and healthy. And I feel less congested. It’s also helped with the inevitable smells from having 2 large Golden Retriever dogs.
Noise wise, it’s ok. It has 3 settings, low-medium-high. On the lowest setting, it really is whisper quiet. Medium setting gives off a white/static noise – I like a background noise, so find it quite soothing. On the highest setting, I would say it’s very loud. I only use the high setting after I’ve vacuumed etc. I mostly keep it on medium.
The fabric ‘pre-filter’ cover does a great job at catching hair from the dogs, pet dander and dust. I wash mine each week and I purchased a spare cover with the machine. It means I can wash one, while still having the spare on the go. I’ve really noticed less dust settling on the desks etc It’s made a really big difference.
It’s a simple unit to use, with only 1 button, which you press to go up the levels. The LED’s come on, depending on which level you have it at.
I now have the bigger 405 Classic in the lounge, the smaller Blue 411 in my home office and the Blue 221 in the master bedroom. They are all really impressive. Quiet and very low energy use, which we are all very mindful of these days.
Highly recommended – having these Air Purifier’s has made a big difference to me.
Really good. My son suffers from sniffles at night. Now with this product he is 90 percent bette
With this working on the lowest setting i can get a clear nights sleep and not wake up with a blocked nose.
Clears the air as I can feel it when I walk in the room after it’s been on. Feels crisp! Easy to use. Setting 2 and 3 can be noisy tho. Not sure if it actually helps with the cat hair but I do like it.
I am definitely finding my sleep to be much deeper than before using this blueair purifier in my bedroom. I’m definitely breathing easier and never would have thought this would make much difference.
I’m ordering a 2nd one for the living room!
I used to have a Dyson purifier in the lounge because we live in lovely polluted London and thought the bedrooms could do with having one each so we could sleep with better air to breath.
I used to take the Dyson up to the bedroom in the evening but 1) that became a pain and 2) it was so loud at night, even on the night setting.
I spent a long time looking at purifier reviews and found this one was coming out best for noise levels at night so decide to buy two. Turns out I made the right choice as the first setting out of the three is so quiet you wouldn’t even know it was on.
I have one in our bedroom and one in the childrens bedroom. Neither bothers any of us with noise. My one gripe would be the display light. We sit ours on the bedroom floor which means the status light shines quite bright when the room is in total darkness. This may bother people who like complete darkness like my wife does! There’s no way to turn this off sadly.
There is no auto feature, which I already new about, and don’t really need as I don’t want it to get loud in the night and wake us up. I have these solely for the bedroom so they are on constantly low level and no need to be higher.
Unfortunately I can’t say how well they are doing with the air quality as there is no app with this to measure it. It has helped us sleep better though and we wake up less crap feeling, I’m sure of that, so it must be working.
My study had even a problem as I have severe asthma and dust – general and paper – caused me problems. This has sorted my study out perfectly.
For me this helps greatly with my allergies. Before I was waking up with an itchy throat and sneezing but when I leave this on low in my room I definitely notice a different. Even used it in my sons room a few times as he has asthma and allergies and it’s helped there too so thinking about getting a second!!
So far good. Very quiet on lowest setting. Quite noisy on highest setting but I suppose that is expected . When reading the instructions it said some models had a carbon filter as an extra but nowhere does it state that a carbon filter us a tually in the device itself si I really do not known if I have got a good hepa model or a very basic so am not happy about that.
I changed the outer cover to black bit had to buy the outside covering an an extra

Love how lightweight it is. Nice to have three settings, the highest has a hum like rain sounds but overall nice and quiet. Really worked on a a new house damp stagnant room smell
I noticed the very next morning after running this thru the night that my allergy sneezing had gone. The air it sends out ‘smells’ clean lol. On it’s lowest setting, I can’t hear it even in the silence of the night. I made the mistake of buying generic (cheap) replacement filters, and they aren’t as good. I will buy originals in future. I liked this product so much that I bought another, and recommended it to my son who also bought one and rates it highly.

Collects so much dust and it’s reduced the asthma problem my son has been having by a lot. Keep it on day and night. At night time on the lowest level you won’t even be able to hear it. Would definitely recommend!!!
works great, max level is a lil bit noisy but does the job, if you leave it on low/med during the time you are in your room and max setting while u are away it does clear up the room
Surpringly powerful. 3 power levels, simply press top to change settings or switch on/off. Almost silent on level 1, with gentle air flow. The video is level 2, revirded right next to machine. Its a powerful air flow. Obviously the noise is less noticeable further away or with other noise such as TV, voices etc. Level 3 is very powerful and a bit louder. But the sound is like ‘white noise’ and we find that we dont notice it after a couple of minutes. You pop the top off to change the inner filters. The blue cover is the outer filter and pulls off to wash. We’re very happy with this machine but have only had it for a few days so can’t comment on longterm use.
We have a family member studying away from home and have bought one for both places.
It works very well and is extremely quiet on the lowest of three settings. The impact on air quality is immediate. Great product.
Excellent air purifier but
First level is useless
Second one is best
Last level 3 is very noisy and unbearably loud
Really helps my asthma. When changing outside fabric filter I can see how much dust etc it has pulled out of the air by how grubby the inner filter is. Glad I bought it.
I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks around the house and it does seem to suck in the dust, but I do have a couple of niggles:
1) Any larger particles (fluff, small hairs etc) that it sucks towards it are attached to the blue outer cover/filter, but when you turn it off/move it, you do find that there’s a little pile of stuff on the floor around it, as they tend to fall back off when you turn it off/knock/move it.
2) The lights on the top do dim-down after a few seconds of pressing, but are still quite bright – so if you use it in a bedroom at night you might need to put something over those lights…..handy as a nightlight though.
3) When it’s on its lowest setting, it’s very quiet, (almost unnoticeable), but I find it hard to believe it would suck anything through the outer filter with such a gentle fan setting.
I also find the second setting slightly too loud to be too close to.
If you put it on 3, just leave the room!
These are just personal niggles though.
How much dust it actually removes is hard to say, but I will check in a month or 2 and see what the inner filter looks like.
For reference: The blue part (on the photo) is like a sock that can be removed/washed and the whole bottom part under that is the filter (looks like a large car air filter). So the white part at the top contains all the electronics/fan, which just twists to lock/unlock from the filter.

I purchased this when after many years, my hay fever suddenly started again. I was amazed at how much dust and pollen it took out of the room. After a few weeks, the pre-filter was filthy. I have it on the middle setting in the living room and on the quietest in the bedroom. I guess my only complaint is that the internal filters aren’t exactly cheap.

This purifier is fairly large, but still lightweight enough to move from room to room. Both my son and I have allergic rhinitis, and I have asthma. Both of us have noticed improvement of symptoms after use. On top setting it is clearly audible, but on the lower setting I don’t notice it. We would recommend i

Your don’t realise just how much floats around the air. This is a fantastic and cannot hear it at all when on number one setting which I leave it on all day. When I first got it I put it on three for 2 hrs and then 2 for 2 hours then leave on one all the time you will be amazed at what adheres to the filter.

It has reduced the dust level in the bedroom and the frequency of my sneezing. Almost silent on lowest setting. Recommended.
Nothing bad to document about this air purifier. It’s noise level is low, very simple to operate, can hear sound like a small fan if set on high.
Cover collects the large dust particles and you can Hoover it once a week or wash it. The cover dries quickly and you can purchase other covers to suit your decor.
Power consumption is low, I have it on constant high mode in my bed room.
My bedroom smells fresher and really can notice the difference for my Asthma.
Genuinely the best item Iv purchased for a long time!
