Great value for money. It’s perfect for small jobs around the house.
For such a tidy item it has remarkable power very easy to use what more can I say first class drill/ drive
Great drill, have used it for many projects now and not had to change to the second battery in between. Very lightweight and easy to use. Very happy and would recommend for the average DIYer. I have used for metal, masonry and wood and it hasn’t struggled with anything.
I have many Bosch power tools, great quality sturdy pieces of kit that do the job. Extra battery with this means no more running out of juice halfway through a project.
A quality Bosch product at a very reasonable price. Lightweight but packs plenty of punch even on hammer drill mode, easy to use and has the Bosch quality feel. Does everything the occasional DIY project might require, but you will probably need a more expensive model for heavy use. Good carry case too.
Quality name and quality product , light weight and nice quality case also easy to use
This drill is just what I needed. Small for such a powerful drill and light to handle, plenty of flexibility. To be honest my 5 stars for battery life is based on my neighbours earlier model of the same drill, and although I have few home projects or materials to do them with during lockdown I am still using the first full charge on one battery weeks after first using this drill, so more than satisfied that my 5 star battery rating will prove to be less than it deserves.
Chuck adjusts easily & grips well, speed easy to control, battery seems to last for ages, quality produc
his is SO good to hang things here and there or to build Ikea furniture. I’ve been using it regularly since we moved to a new house and have to build things and drill some walls. The power for such a small one is impressive and I couldn’t recommend this more. I would also recommend buying the extra bits from Bosch as they come in hand when needed too.
Lightweight and easy to use. Great for small drill jobs and furniture assembly is easy on the screwdriver setting.
Excellent very pleased with item. A very strong drill that will do all the DIY jobs easily. Bosch in any make is very very good, it’s got the name, would recommend it. Dispatched absolutely brilliant, excellent delivery, first class. Thank you.
Good quality drill easy to use and does everything required of it from a DIY perspective. Drill into brick wood and plaster when you need it to. Reasonable price with the extra battery.
Hopefully the Battery life will be as good as the drill. Very happy with my new Crimbo gift.
If you need to drill in concrete, stone, granite or something that requires percussion, go for a BoschHammer.
It’s perfect for driving all tipes of screws and bolts, drilling in any type of metal, wood, plastic, even ceramic.
Perfect for me, because I already have a 800W Bosch Hammerdrill to demolish walls.
Spotted this on Black Friday. Always rated Bosch and needed as new drill as two years back purchased an Aldi Cordless were the chuck was rubbish, was binned! This drill so far has been perfect, cannot complain.
Great kit. Love the sturdy case and provision of a second battery . Used it as a drill, screw driver and as a hammer drill and it performed brilliantly. Twist lock Chuck , varaiable torque backed up with ample power from the 18v batteries . For this price it’s excellent value
So far this drill is awesome. I always struggled to drill proper holes but this hammer drill makes things so much easier. I would also recommend you getting some good quality drill bits.
Quality Bosch product. I’ve ditched my 240v drill. The torque is excellent.
Excellent battery life, quick to charge , lightweight,as good as some twice the price.
I expected the latest model in this series to have an upgraded feature of a light which can be handy its absense looks obvious
I like the small charger very much. Battery life is amazing, I was able to assemble a lot of furniture on my house move and battery didn’t die easily. Very powerful, I was able to get it drilling on walls outside the house, you can drill in cement to hand security cameras for example.
I give it a 4 stars, because I wanted to have a led light on it like the previous model, no excuse to remove.
but I highly recommend to get, you will just have a perfect combo : Bosch 2607010608 X-Line Drill/Drive Set, Silver/Black

Copes easily with all household drilling tasks. Great on brick with 6mm bit and probably would cope up to 10mm, but I would stiil use my mains slotted drive hammer drill for big holes or on concrete. 1.5Ah battery is very light and as there are two and they charge up quickly no need for bigger capacity.
I needed a cordless drill/screwdriver and I know Bosch tools, so I paid a little extra and I am very happy I did.
Really pleased. Two batteries with it, one on charge one on the tool, feels good really nice to work with.
I found that it was sparking when the trigger was released and the braking took place. I contacted Bosch and explained the problem asking “IS THIS NORMAL”. They did not answer the question but said send it in for repair. As it was only days old I returned it to Amazon who sent a replacement next day delivery. Excellent service. The new one was exactly the same, sparking. I checked on line and found that it is normal and almost all of them do it. Why Bosch or Amazon couldn’t tell me that I don’t know, but be aware. Love the drill though. Could be improved with a LED light.
A really good drill. Does what we need it to do and charges very quickly
Not used yet as its xmas present for husband but of what I have seen it’s perfect gif
I use it well at home. I don’t know if it’s good or bad because I’m not professional enough. Personally, I think the family works very well
I have found the drill to be good value for money. The extra battery is a bonus
I use this daily, impressive torque, reliable – one of the best brands
It’s good for little chores around the house extra battery helps even more and no big charger compac
This drill was bought as a Christmas present for one of my sons,I bought it because I have one myself and am completely satisfied with it.
Appears to be well made. Sadly no LED work light otherwise would have been perfect. Easy to use & chsng bits. Better price in black Friday deal, otherwise wouldn’t have bought at original price.
I ordered this to replace my existing power drive. It is great quality for standard applications such as screwing up etc.
This is the best drill for any household every home should have one ,5stars
Only used a couple of times but so far v good
Good all round performance for a small sized battery drill ~ just what I wanted.
Bonus having 2 batteries.
I was very disappointed when my original drill gave up, however, I have been so pleased to find my new drill is even better. Obviously , I can’t comment on how long it will last, but it is worth knowing that it came with a long warranty.
It is light compact and powerful. It has been used for drilling into brickwork and screwing raised beds together.
Excellent geared motor. Very robust drilling for machine of its size.
Great for home use. Easy to use, works with all my drill bits. got it on sale so good value. Would recommend.
light easy to use and did light jobs easily- ideal diy ki
It holds a long charge, with the battery having a memory built in & doesn’t drain when not in use, like all my other drills did.
Very easy to use does everything you need and it is convenient not to need an extension cable
This drill does all the basic functions well, bought to replace an old Black & Decker drill that didn’t retain its charge, so very frustrating to use. This comes with 2 Universal batteries to get you started on the Bosch range and a basic screwdriver bit. So far everything works well whether screwing, drilling in wood or plaster.
I bought this because of buying future “power4all” tools. It came with 1.5v batteries which so far have worked well.
Im so happy my first drill what a bargain thank you
Multiple uses. Easily handled and good price. Very happy with this.
A versatile tool, also great having no cable to get in the way!
It comes with 2batteries so you should never be without. Very handy piece of ki
Very easy to use on a wide range of materials
This equipment is like the rest of its manufacturers range. It works!
Not a bad hammer drill, but torque is not that good for tightening screws. Fine for most jobs around the house and worth the discounted price.
Love this drill, very easy to use and great combo when paired with a point set.
Only used for drilling wood and screwdriving so far in shed build. Its done well enough screwing in 100mm wood screws and drilling pilot holes.
Purchased the ‘older’ model as a gift, then this ‘newer’ model for myself, this one doesn’t have any numbers for the torque settings or a light, would have happily paid for the light and torque numbers
Have used the older model drill for a few months with no issues so assume this one works as well
Purchased this when I dropped my old one in the drink. Lighter than my old one but one major difference is that it doesn’t have light when the trigger is pressed. Cutting costs I suppose. Apart from that it performs well as it should.
Fantastic drill , compact lightweight and powerful at a great price compared to other more professional drills . 2 batteries very useful and v quick to charge, never run out of powe
Nice handy drill with 18v exchangeable battery which fits other 18v Bosch power tools.
Drill/driver at a great price.
Have used the drill several times now, it is nice and light, has plenty of power for the jobs so far; admittedly light work so the test will be over the next couple of weeks. Generally pleased with the purchase.
Have only used this a few times but so far, so good.
It’s light, the two batteries are definitely a bonus and it comes with a nice carry case. Be aware that even though the batteries appear to be charged out of the box, they’re not charged enough to run the drill at the maximum speed. I only noticed this after using it for the first time and then charging both batteries…the difference in power/speed after the batteries had a full charge was significant.
Beautiful and lightweight with a very good battery. Brilliant for use as a drill, a Screwdriver and hammer action for masonry usage.
A Very handy dual purpose tool. Great potential to use on lots of jobs around the house.
Excellent product, drill went thru metal easily, seems well made.
Great cordless drill for all the quick and easy jobs, anything heavy duty still needs the wired one but was expecting that. Although its a lot better than i was expecting
Quite compact and battery lasts a long time, charges fairly quickly and feels well made.
First cordless drill and pleaded how easy it is to set up an use
A great tool very light and very easy to use comes with two batteries and is very good value
Battery life has been good so far but as it gets older will be it’s TRUE test. Easy to use and all the power I need this far.
An excellent, versatile drill. Whilst not in use batteries stay charged for a long time and can be fully recharged in a couple of hours.
Great for normal domestic use – lightweight with a comfortable grip
Best quality and very powerful batteries. I bought it in deal and it’s worth buying this and case is good as well which is keeping it tidy and handy
Love this tool. I had the old version for about 10 years. As it comes with 2 batteries it makes it even better value. The 2 speeds Hammer and torque control make it the best all around drill/driver out there. I love it. Fitted a new security camera. Replaced a few deck boards and put up garded trellis with ease.
Great drill for most DIY tasks, be it drilling into masonry or assembling furniture. Would recommend the drill that comes with two battery packs, as these are both required for DIY jobs that take more than a couple of hours. A good product.
My ancient drill was close to giving up the ghost when this one came along. A perfect replacement. It’s easy to use, not too heavy and the battery seems to be lasting well. It’s Bosch, it does everything I need it to and I have absolutely no complaints.
Such a good improvement on my previous screwdriver. Have used for numerous odd jobs around the home from drilling into masonry to changing kitchen unit handles.
Hubby loves this drill, he says it so nice to go to a drill and the battery not flat. Now he has no ex not to do DIY jobs.
After reading all the reviews, I opted for Bosch and it was a wise decision. It’s a bit heavy for my small (female) hand but it works beautifully, the chuck is easy to release and with two batteries, it never runs down. It also has the added feature of sharing its battery packs with all other cordless Bosch equipment — I wish mobile phone companies would do the same! Not cheap but worth every penny.
I got this for my brother who recently moved house and needed it. He says:
The Bosch Cordless hammer drill has been very helpful in lots of different DIY jobs around the house. I moved house in August and it became quickly became apparent that I needed a hammer drill which was up to the job. The Bosch has done exactly that. It is versatile to handle most jobs, with all the extras you’d expect from a modern drill including trigger sensitivity and various speeds and modes.
The property I live in seems to have rather hard brick walls and the hammer drill seems to cope fairly well considering it’s size. It’s not the most heavy duty but is light weight and easy to operate. It’s comfortable and well designed and so far has dealt with all the jobs I have thrown at it. I like the fact that it comes with a separate charger and it all fits nicely and neatly into the carry case. Battery life appears to be adequate too.
Overall I think if you are looking for a comfortable, light hammer drill capable of most jobs that you throw at it then this fits the bill.
overall 4 out of 5 stars
comfort 5 out of 5 stars
easy to use 5 out of 5 stars
value for money 4 out of 5 stars
Seems to have plenty of power. Battery life long too
Its a handy tool but unfortunately it has no light which can help alot in liw illuminated area of working
I have only used this a couple of times so far but am quite pleased with it – far superior to my previous fairly cheap Black & Decker. Nice to have two batteries, and necessary if doing a fare amount (screwing in a number of already laid decking planks). Others have commented that the screw head (and presumably a drill head) can fall out as the chuck comes loose – I did find this on occasion, though not a big issue if one checks and tightens the chuck every so often.
I only had a corded drill before so was keen to have a go with this cordless one. It’s wonderful. Really easy to use I’ve been fitting shelves etc. around the house which I’ve been putting off doing. It only comes with the one drill bit but that’s not a problem as I’ve bought specialised drill bits previously which fit. I love it.
My Husband is full of praise for this drill. It has exceeded his expectations, he says that it is a dream to both hold and use as well as being powerful.
This is a good-quality, entry-level/intermediate cordless drill. It’s light and easy to use and copes with all jobs around the house. The battery lasts for a decent amount of time and it’s nice that it can be used in all the other Bosch ‘green’ products. It comes with it’s own case and charging lead and was easy to get started straight away. Overall, this is a would be a good drill for anyone getting started with DIY around the house.
Great drill with plenty of power for most drops around the house and garden. Having had many bosh products over the years you can be sure of the quality. It’s not as powerful as my wired drill but that’s to be expected from a battery powered drill. The battery does last a fair bit of time with moderate use and found it perfect for drilling holes to hang a TV. It’s easy to adjust and change drill bits and I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting a good drill for DIY around the house. For a professional who would use this every day then this might not be the drill for you but for everyone else it’s perfect.
An excellent drill that looks and feels like a up to date piece of kit
Light to use and therefore feels good in the hand (this is an improvement on the older types that seem heavier in order to be more functional).
Usual handy storage and carry case
Has a quick charging battery that clicks into place. Only one battery supplied so you should charge and ready for use rather shopping over. Batteries are interchangeable with other Bosch power tools.
Great hammer action, makes drilling effortless. Good torque settings for the screwdriver action
Over all great tool, expensive but you get what you pay and this is definitely worth i
I’ve already got a Bosch corded drill and so I was pleased to be able to try this cordless version. I’ve tried cordless in the past and been disappointed by poor power and consequentially poor drilling performance. I was interested to see how this would perform.
This version is a pretty good performer and I only noticed it was challenged by the very toughest concrete – a standard corded drill would also struggle in the same way.
The universal battery (universal to other cordless Bosch items) is a good idea and would encourage me to buy other tools that take the battery.
It is easy to use but only comes with a single drill/screwdriver bit. Bosch to offer some good quality drill bit sets that would complement this drill really well.
It feels really responsive to pressure on the trigger and therefore is easy to control.
I would recommend this item for all but the very toughest of jobs. You do pay a little more for the Bosch brand name and there are other brands that possibly offer better value for money.
As drills go this is quite basic. The packaging looks quite cheap. For the price there’s definitely better on the market.
That said it does the job it needs to do well and for that I cannot complain.
I think I would be more impressed it it included a wider range of drill bits.
Mine didn’t come with a universal adapter for screwdriver bits, which is a little mean. Fortunately, I already had one. Strangely, I am being asked to rate the ‘Built in Light’ feature of this product, even though it doesn’t have that feature.
This drill is very light considering how powerful it is. I had no problem drilling through wood and plasterboard. It is very comfortable to hold. The battery back is broad and flat and so the drill stands securely upright when put down.
This is for general use at home or at work. The chuck takes drills or screwdriver bits and is really easy and convenient to use. The BOSCH name assures you that you are getting quality.
A good drill from Bosch, a bit more plasticky than my Bosch Blue GLI12volt set, but i guess thats all in the price difference too.
Nice blow moulded case, although can’t help thinking its a little bit too large for the lack of accessories you get and could’ve been half size, as the battery and charger really don’t take up that much space.
The charger is a neat little unit, very small compared to my older drill battery, very quick to charge and keeps the charge (like lithium ion should) so always ready when you grab it from the shed – unlike the older Ni-Cd drills.
This has replaced an old Ryobi 18v drill, the Bosch is half the size, half the weight but packs the same punch! I guess with most technology these days it gets smaller and better.
I have used it to drill into standard house walls, and put curtain poles and shelves up – also used it to drill into the house brick (using the impact mode) to fit security cameras and it handled everything i could throw at it.
Lots of different torque settings but would be good for things like decking screws or anything where a similar torque is needed on the screws. Just a note its a 10mm chuck and not 13mm, not a problem for me but just something worth noting.
Screw, drill and impact settings on the drill and variable trigger means its easy to use and get the right speed for the job, from drilling brick to putting screws in a curtain rail. Decent chuck and easy to use, definitely would benefit from an LED light, like my smaller ixo, something that it so easily fitted and cheap i’m confused why they haven’t bothered.
This is a nice Bosch drill with good torque and a raft of different settings. The torque has several settings so you never overdo it. Additionally there are three settings for hammer, screw and drill. The battery is quite light, unlike the brick from former days, and has a very reasonable life. I like to have two batteries to eliminate time wasted waiting for one to charge. All told, there is not much to not like about this drill from a leading manufacturer, except perhaps the price. You can, if budget is a restricting factor, purchase perfectly serviceable drills for half the cost of this one.
I’ve got the previous model of this drill, and now this one. There are plenty of similarities, and a few differences to note. The general size and weight are much the same, as are the controls, handling, and power. The case is the same size too, although the interior is divided up differently.
The biggest improvement is the battery and charger. The charger is much smaller, and the battery connection is better, too. I didn’t notice any improvement on charging time. The battery seemed to last just as long as in the older model. Obviously, the batteries for this new model won’t fit onto the old charger, so some care is needed to make sure you’ve got the correct charger with you.
The LED lamp has gone in the new model. I found that really handy when working in dark and small spaces. Too bad. The red speed selector switch is now black, which is not as easy to see. In every other respect though, the new model replaces the old one. The old Bosch green has gone too, replaced with a paler green that doesn’t say “Bosch” like the old green.
Having given this new model a thorough trial alongside the previous one, putting up a garden fence, it’s proved itself just as good as the old one. The old ones — I have a few of these — have been reliable workhorses for two house renovations and several outdoor projects now, and I’ve had no problems with any of them.
My son really likes this; it is versatile, and the battery life is very good. He hasn’t tried anything major with it yet, but has been fixing doors, replacing handles, drilling some holes for that. It is lightweight and easy to use. It is one of those sets every family should have.
We have had Bosch devices in our family for the longest time. It has always been and still is one of the best electric tools out there for us personally, even though it is no longer manufactured in Germany but Hungary.
I love the 3-year warranty they give with the drill as it could come in handy.
The device is pretty powerful for light home use, I haven’t had an opportunity to use it for anything more demanding than what you expect around the flat. For me, the variable output speed and torque are more useful than power because it gives me great flexibility to get the job done.
The included battery is a lithium-ion one that supports a power-for-all system where the batteries can be used between various bosch devices that support that system. The only difference between this battery and their smart lineup is the charging method, the smart lineup has contacts on the bottom for charging which prevents wear on the main contacts the drill uses for connecting to the battery. It has the same voltage and amperage as the smart lineup and the 1.5 Ah is plenty to execute a more demanding task. Do mind that if you do not use the battery you should still discharge and recharge it because it may lose the capacity after a long idle period.
This drill is from a universal lineup and lacks some of the features the expert lineup has, which do come in quite handy, like the built-in light, battery capacity indicator, rotation direction indicator, lithium-ion battery, thicker rubber grips, etc.
But the performance between the two is rather similar and this drill can do mostly everything the expert lineup can. However, given how often the expert lineup is reduced for sale it is very hard for me to recommend this product as it costs a lot and lacks quite a few features, not to mention that there are other competitor products that offer the same features for less.
At the time of writing the 2 battery version of this is 30 cheaper, so you pay less and get a spare battery. Not sure why but bear it in mind if you are going to buy this.
For heavy duty work I have a 110v Stihl SDS drill, but the drill and 110 supply weigh a ton, so for something a bit more day to day I have a B+D cordless. Until I got this Bosch drill I didn’t realise how outdated my old drill was. This drill has a very slow controllable start with a responsive trigger to pick up the speed. A safety brake stops the chuck quickly in its tracks when you release. There are a range of torque settings with a simple twist of a collar and 3 settings for the work type (drill, screwdriver, impact). On top of that is the forward / reverse / lock switch and 2 gear settings. The motor is much quieter than my existing drills, but I can’t compare the noise to current models. The chuck is easy to twist and lock your bit into place and holds it well when under torque. The drill is comfortable in hand, is not overly heavy and as the start speed is controlled there is less chance of skipping around or jarring your wrist. It is powerful enough to drill into hard brick and gentle enough for drilling with mm sized drills.
Battery is quick to charge and can be topped up at any time, lifetime will depend upon loads. The charger is a neat unit with a lot less plastic body that some I have seen (less plastic is a plus for me). The drill comes with a single double-sided screwdriver bit. I am fine with that because some of these all-in-one kits supply stuff that will never get used and of cheaper quality, it is just padding to make it look better value for money. I prefer to supply my own bits etc. The case can take 2 batteries (if one is fitted) and the charger. The case has some pockets of space to allow you to store some essentials. Again, I am fine with that as I don’t want to lug a suitcase around with things I rarely use. The end result is a neat and compact case. The case has a proper hinge, not some fold of plastic and the closure is by 2 large plastic tabs that lock the case securely — be careful not to pinch the charging cable.
Admittedly, I am comparing this to a much older less technologically advanced drill, but it is a good quality drill and so far has impressed the pants off me. Now I am looking at the range of cordless tools that take the same battery. I am becoming a cordless convert!
We have a much more basic drill but husband was always complaining when using so I ordered this. When it arrived I thought wasn’t much for price but he totally disagreed. He says feels great in hand and the weight of drill ( minus battery) tells you it’s a ‘good drill that’s got some gumption’?? Maybe that’s a man phrase but he was very happy. He charged battery fully which was easy job the battery slides of drill and you place in charger that is supplied. When my husband came to test drill he went on a bit of a drill rampage lol.He fitted shelf’s in bathroom (something our old drill hadn’t been able to do was drill into bathroom wall) but he did in no time with this.He also refitted door that had come off kitchen unit and put a few pictures up and fitted curtain rail in daughters room.He was able to happily drill all day on one charge and is very happy with his new tool.Im just happy all the little DIY jobs are been done without complaint. We don’t have any other Bosch tools but I think the fact the batteries are interchangeable is a great thing. This is a great and quality tool that I feel will serve you well for years. There is one negative and I did consider knock of star but as explained fully in write up and as drill is such good quality I couldn’t give any less than 5.The negative is this drill only comes with a small Philips screwdriver fitting. No drill pieces at all.If a professional or competent DIYer is buying this they will most likely have drill bits ect but I was think of people possibly buy as first drill and they may be a little disappointed when turns up and they have to purchase drill bits before been able to use.Unfortunatly we don’t all fully read write up and some including me would have expected it to come ready to use will all drill bits included. So be sure to order some drill bits too.Other than that this is a great quality, powerful drill with a battery that lasted for whole days drilling in my home ( though think would depend on amount of drilling your do and possibly type)
Firstly I noticed the case is strong plastic that will keep the drill protected, I really like that! I put it on charge for a few hours while I was out and it was fully charged when I came home, I had my husband use it to put up some shelves and a mirror. It’s powerful enough to go straight through our brick walls and convenient being hand held and not looping wires everywhere. It’s idea for most diy tasks and packs away nicely back into its storage box. Would recommend
I remember when I was growing up, the Bosch name was synonymous with really high quality tools. This hasn’t changed that much, but I think these days competition from e.g. Makita has meant that the quality to price ratio isn’t quite as good.
For example, for cheaper than this drill, I have recently bought a Makita cordless drill that is more powerful and has a larger capacity battery.
Having said that, if you do purchase this I think you’ll be happy with it. I found the torque sufficient for some fairly heavy duty masonry drilling, and after an afternoon of work the battery hasn’t run down. It is quite compact, and the case does a good job of protecting it.
I’m really pleased with this
When it comes to drills I like makita and bosch best and this is a great handy drill.
Cordless is just so useful with things as it’s so much easier to not have to think where the power supply is and you can position the drill easier.
18v…very average for these …of course corded is more powerful
Pleased it comes in a case …you always look for one for such an item.
It has a 3 year warrantee…you need to but your drill bits of course
A very good quality intermediate drill from Bosch.
Only comes with a single screwdriver bit but it is dual sided for straight and Phillips screws to get you started although you will want to invest in drill bits like this good 34 piece set, if you don’t have them already.
The drill is packed with features, namely:
Adjustable power controlled by pressure on the power switch which is very responsive and feels good quality;
2 gear settings as well as 3 different settings for ‘screw’, ‘drill’ and ‘impact drilling’ which is for masonry.
The feature I like the most on this intermediate drill is the ability to choose between 16 different torque settings, to control the torque or strength/power to which a screw is tightened with.
The drill stops automatically once the pre-selected torque setting or ‘screw tightness’ is achieved – to stop the screw head getting chewed up.
It does however take some trial and error to gauge the appropriate setting but can always start from the lower end of the scale and work up.
The keyless chuck also has a firm clicking and feedback to reassure you the drill bit is fixed firmly. The fact the 18v battery is interchangeable with all other Bosch 18v systems is also convenient if building on a set of Bosch tools already or thinking of doing so later. This is a bit of an upgrade on the more basic 12v set.
If I am being hypercritical and a bit OCD the arrow on the centre of my unit is not totally aligned which is purely aesthetic and will not affect function or durability.
But of the box, did catch my attention and bring in a sliver of doubt that there could be imprecision inside the device too!
An aligning drill-direction light would have been useful, whilst not essential would be nice to have the option, especially for drilling in a tight spot (no pun intended).
The minor misalignment of the casing though annoying when spending a lot of money, unlikely to affect functionality but did pique my over-particular tendency!
Although I will try to restrain my paranoia and focus on the fact that the unit functions perfectly well.
Enjoy drilling!
