Power to weight ratioA powerful 710 W motor delivers fast work progress, to a maximum cutting depth of 2.6 mm, but the planerâs size, weight and ergonomic design make it comfortable to handle. | Stability and accuracyA sturdy, flat, aluminium base plate with an improved front shoe design enhances the planerâs performance. The shoeâs rigid plate structure, with âhookingâ ribs on all four corners and a tight fit within the housing, prevents distortion. These features, along with a new shoe adjustment system, ensure more accurate and stable operation. | SafetyTo avoid the danger of accidental activation, this corded planer features a lock-off switch which prevents unintended start-ups. |

Tidy workChip ejection can be conveniently set for left-sided or right-sided clearance, according to preference. A dust bag or extractor can be fitted to the ejector for a tidier and less dusty working environment. | User comfortThe planerâs handle is ergonomically shaped, with a soft-grip covering, and can be used comfortably by both left-handed and right-handed operators. A ball-jointed swivel cord helps to give freedom of movement and avoid tangles. | Additional aidsCutting depth can be easily adjusted in 0.1 mm steps to 2.6 mm. The Bosch Wood Razor system, with its one-blade drum, gives high-quality cutting results with no need to align a second blade. A centred groove is provided for chamfering applications. The planer is also fitted with a spring-loaded park shoe, to protect the work surface. |

It’s a lot bigger than what’s presented in the pictures, once it’s properly setup it’s a remarkably accurate, it’s heavier than the electrical planers I’ve used and has a powerful motor.
Overall I would be hard pushed to find a similar product, that works as well as this one.
It’s a BOCH..!
This is an amazing planer for the price. Wish I had bought it sooner.
he bosch plane is the best to set up the blades
Arrives in a substantial box that contains the plane, fence, dust bag and a dust nozzle for a hoover. I use a Karcher vacuum which fits.
This is an excellent plane. Certainly one of the best at this price. The other top plane at this price is the Makita but that doesn’t come with any sort of chip bag or extraction. You might know that planers really do make a mess, so in my humble opinion that’s a huge mistake.
I really can’t fault the Bosch at all. It’s quiet, powerful and does it’s job very well. I love the dual port design. It’s really handy to be able to switch sides for the chip extraction. You really don’t want to run a planer without extraction and there are times when the bag or hose needs to be on the opposite side. Not just because it might be in the way, but also it may balance the plane better.
Amazon often has sales of Bosch gear and I picked mine up at a fantastic price. Very highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.
Great job and with the dust bag very clean money well spe
Great planer.
Pros:
1. Comes in hard plastic case. And in cartoon box.
2. Long cable.
3. Left or right dust extraction. Very comfy.
4. Dust bag, vac connector in set.
5. Deep cut up to 2.6 mm.
Cons:
1. High price
2. Little heavy.
Not cheap but I needed to plain down 6 oak doors. Buying this and doing the job myself was a lot cheaper than paying a chippy plus I now have another tool for future jobs.
Easy to use but the blade is fierce so use
it with respect. The dust bag keeps coming off but you need it as it kicks out a lot of dust. Gives a good finish. Recommended
This product has either been a display item or used. The security seal was broken and re taped, the face plate is badly scratched and shows sign of use. Items were missing from the box, cable was loosely tied back together. I paid for a new item not a reconditioned or used one. Very disappointed.
You get what you pay for and this has been no different. This planer has done a brilliant job getting of a layer of wood stain we were wanting to replace. Blade swap is simple just 2 grub screws slide fresh one in and off you go again. Definitely would recommend!
Won’t use it everyday but have a good tool ever time I need one.
Very accurate, doors marked out & scored with Stanley blade = perfect cuts, I needed a good planner as doors needs maximum trimming off tops & sides, bought spare blades as I’m keeping this as a life long tool
a SUPER addition to anyones tool box, managed to get at great price too, another reason to be happy.
After years of using traditional hand planes, I opted for the powered version for tackling larger projects – particularly hardwoods. And what a difference it has made.
The Bosch motor feels and sounds great (anybody with mechanical sensitivity knows a poor motor when they’re using it). The dust collection system actually works (better with a vacuum attached) , and the cutting depth adjustment housed in the forward handle is a dream to use. It reduces labour time enormously. It has a four metre cord, so working from a power source is never a problem.
The only drawback is a lack of speed control for the single-bladed drum, so care has to be taken to plane a lot slower than would normally be the case with a hand plane to avoid cut-outs (this is most likely on hardwoods). OEM replacement blades are pretty cheap (about 8 I think), so having a couple spares is never a problem.
It’s an absolute joy to use, and for those bigger projects it’s a no-brainer if time is money.
Used this in the loft to shave down some uneven wood and it worked a treat. I took the bag off however which was a huge mistake if you think sawing makes a ton of dust then try this it’s looks like a tree exploded!
Very powerful unit and good finish.
Got this Bosch planer to make some mahogany slats wasn’t sure how it would cope but it did a fantastic job the wood was really smooth almost shiny well impressed and the dust bag caught all the shavings
Saves lots of time fitting doors, quite powerful and you need to keep checking that it is level.
It is easy to use left or right handed with the safety trigger, it leaves a nice clean planned surface, it’s definitely worth its money.
I have 2 other routers and this one beats them hands down in every way
Professional planer for the tradesman.
Excellent built quality and very accurate.
The bag is large enough to last a while.
Excellent produc
So far so good, Used in small diy projects and the plane, cuts thru wood with ease.
I used it in pine, oak, birch, poplar and mahogany. I think it happen to other users, the extraction canal is very small, so it gets blocked quite easily, more so on Poplar and pine wood, not so much in oak or hardwood. I know it is rated up to 2.6mm shave in one go, but I think that will kill the machine, at 0.5mm for me was too much and it started to bite the wood and causing some strong vibrations. From 0 to 0.2mm that’s the clean shave, anything above I don’t think is usable as good surface wood.
I tried the corner chamfer, but it was all over the place, not precise and not usable.
I’ll recommend a hand router with round corner cut bit to finish the planned wood, and you’ll be very happy with the results.
So all in all, more passes with thin shaves and you’ll have a very nice finish.
Bought to replace existing Green DIY Bosch Planer after 8yrs, big price difference if the left and right dust extraction is required but worth it if I get another 8yrs from a Bosch Plane
his tool make look good in front of a client, makes your job a lot easie
Used this to size a door,I’m only a casual diy’er ,found it easy to use and very capable. Would highly recommend.
Easy to use switch bag from left to right very handy Good planne
Used this to hang 6 doors. Did the job and got it for less than what it’s on for now.
Seems good so far have used it a few times, the only complaint I have is that even with the dust bag attached it still makes a hell of a mess.
I purchased one of these as it had a bit of a ‘Best Buy’ reputation and I needed to fit three doors at home. We had intended to get a professional in to do the job but had no joy getting anyone who wanted to it. So it proved easier and cheaper simply to buy a power planer. This tool certainly did the job and is highly robust. The instructions warn you about noise but it is not that loud at all in use. It is easy to use and comes with a debris bag. However I used the supplied connector to my vacuum cleaner which was OK but the vacuum cleaner hose would regularly fall off in use as there is nothing to keep it in other than friction. Although I know how to use a manual planer this is altogether a different beast and I found it quite hard to keep the cut surface square. Often the planer would veer off to one side to give an uneven cut. So if you are unfamiliar with these things to keep a square handy and keep checking. The tool survived an accident when it sucked in a small cotton rag. It stopped dead and I had to take the entire tool apart to get the rag out. Thankfully after stripping it, and putting it back together, it worked just fine. There are no instructions for this – you just follow your instincts! I liked the fact that this planer could be stripped back and put together without great difficulty – and then work perfectly. It is well designed and simple. Even an amateur like me can get a good job out of it. I fitted my doors so am happy. I don’t know what else I will use this for but I am sure it will come in handy tucked away on a garage shelf.
Simple to use and I like the ability to change the side for the bag to collect the shavings. The quality of the bag was very poor and there were lots of loose threads which meant that the shavings were a pain to remove. But, I probably won’t use the bag again as its easier just to sweep up afterwards.
Very study construction and feels like it will last.
Adjustable depth really helps, I use with my Bosch GAS20L dust extractor and it really does get most the saw dust / shavings. Not a joiner but the plane is really well balanced and has made planing all the doors at home a doddle. Not too expensive, case supplied is solid too. Usual quality from Bosch.
This is an excellent machine. Planes beautifully, with no chipping. Glides through timber like a hot knife through butter. Very impressive. Heaps of power for even the hardest of wood type.
Can plane up to 2.5mm in one go or can be set anywhere in between, in 0.1mm increments using the dial. The dial is easy to set and the depth is absolutely bang on.
The planer is beautifully balanced and very well made, which is what you would expect from Bosch Pro products.
The spring loaded rear safety shoe is a clever idea which means you don’t have to let the blade wind down before setting the machine down. It also has a safety trigger so you cannot accidentally start the machine when you pick it up. Comes with a very generous amount of power cable.
Comes in a large plastic moulded carry case and includes a parallel fence for guided planing, a large dust bag and an attachment for those wanting to connect to a vacuum cleaner.
Highly recommended.
Great product from bosch professional, bought on offer wouldn’t pay rrp as would prefer a cordless.
Nevertheless should last me years.
Bosch Pro, not a lot to be said really. Good quality and will last longer than its owner! Many Bosch Pro tools in my workshop, every one a gem, they work hard and last the course. Pro tools just work better.
FITTED 5 HARDWOOD DOORS WITH THIS PLANER,MADE THE JOB MUCH EASIER.
Very good planer and easy to assemble and use and managed to cut down 10 doors at the week without any issue but make sure that you practice before otherwise you might damage the door and use the parallel Guide
There was not any Key to be able to change the blade but had the very big hard case and parallels Guid and Dust bag
Absolutely brilliant machine easy 2 use not bulky & doesn’t splinter wood @ end when trimming, all very good well worth the money.
C’est la qualit bosch pro donc rien dire ce sujet par contre attention, ce qui n’ai pas mentionn c’est la prise anglaise, le rabot est quant mme livr avec un adaptateur mais je pense la remplacer car ce n’ai pas pratique.
Works a treat, the single blade is on a bigger drum, so it removes a longer shaving each time. This produces a smoother finish and means you don’t have to spend ages balancing the blades to the same depth. Waxing the foot with a candle makes it easier to use but do check for nails, it is very efficient at finding them.
Excellent planer. Really easy to use and gives an excellent finish.
Bosch sander does the job should brought one earlier for planning the doo
Good powerful and quieter than I expected. The dust bag can fit on either side and collects nearly all the mess (Unless you let it get full!)
Light and easier to use than the twin blade heavy duty model. Does all the jobs I asked of it with ease, planing doors and worktops with ease. Excellent value for money
Top class product. I should have bought one years ago.
Powerful, reliable and with a long flex (unlike most power tools from other manufacturers).
Having hung over 30,000 doors tradeing as the door hanger over the last 25 yrs and used all the major brands of electric planners. This planner is by far the best on the market why ? easy to change the one blade, gives precise cutting depths and is comfortable to hold and use, trust me look no futher this the best .
Best planer on the market makes light work of any job
Nice kit, does what it says on the tin, although dust handling could be better as the bag tends to work loose.
