Used for grinding and cutting metal and stone. No issues, good quality product, happy to recommend.
Bosch professional range.
Not for the faint hearted.
This is the business.
I didn’t notice much of a difference in cutting with this compared to a Hitachi makita dealt. However this will outlast them so worth the extra 30 quid. There is no box so does get chucked about the van a bit.
I purchased one of these grinders about 10 years ago. They are reliable and can take a lot of heavy work. The original grinder armature burnt out after 8 years of use initiated by a diesel generator which was producing large spikes in its output. The old grinder needs a new armature and its good to go again. It was easier to just get another new grinder. Bosch make good kit and that’s why I purchased the same machine again.
Serious peace of kit, cheapest that I could find on the interne
Bosch always noted for quality and this is certainly that, everything about the unit feels well made and it is MORE than up to the job. Very powerful, make sure that you know what you are doing.
if you want a 9 inch grinder for professional use this is one for you, we have tried the cheaper ones , you can see them lying in the scrap bin at the workshop door, the extra you pay is not much compared to the downtime when the cheap one break
I have had the earlier version of this grinder, the GWS 20-230 H and it has given many years of use.
Typical Bosch, simply the best tools you can buy. I have used it for cutting 50mm thick concrete slabs, 200mm thick concrete blocks, bricks and large stones and it has taken them all in it’s stride. It has had some really hard use and is still working as well as the day I bought it.
Some reviewers have complained that it is heavy and it certainly is a bit of a handful, especially if you have to cut with the thing held up at say head height as I had to do recently when cutting a groove in a wall. Almost inevitable for such a powerful, well made machine, so what do you expect?
My only gripe is that it does not have a soft start, there is quite a strong torque reaction when you start the thing and you had better sure make sure you have a really good grip or it will twist out of your hands.
I am thinking of buying a 115mm grinder for lighter work, it will certainly be a Bosch.
If you can get by with a smaller grinder I suggest you do. It’s a great bit of kit but after 20 minutes of grinding, or 3 minutes in ‘out of position’ grinding. You’ll wish you’d gone to the movies instead 😉
It’s heavy!
I bought this as I trust Bosch and have mostly Bosch equipment for tools and gardening equipment. I bought for cutting 2 1/2 inch thick patio slabs and I must say as this is my first angle grinder it is spot on I used the Bosch diamond blade and it goes through like butter and makes a difficult job easy and a lot less stressful. I have several other jobs planned for this now. I am one very happy camper.
well built but difficult to hold which is unusual for bosch
My husband asked me to order this angle grinder for him to use at work, he is an electrician and very fussy about his work tools. He is very very happy with it and also happy with the price he paid, very keen!
Would recommend this tool to other tradesmen 100 per cent.
Haven’t use it that much, but like all Bosch Professional tools, a high quality tool!!
