Bought to replace a Bosch Pro angle grinder that had died after over 30yrs DIY use. I like the slimmer motor body of the new machine it’s much better to hold. However the guard is not as infinitely adjustable as the older machine, the hub lock doesn’t seem to have as many positions and the tool is cumbersumb to use, the Allen key feature doesn’t help, however my old tool fits.
Cut my tiles perfectly with the diamond disc, quality, value for money.
Does exactly what you expect. Great build quality for the money you spend. We use the Professional range at work which made me consider this. Happy with it.
Like others have said the guard is very fiddly to fit. I used it for about 15 minutes and it became very hot so much so that it was burning my hands even with gloves on. Good for the price but I doubt it’s going to last very long.
If you do not work as a builder and you do not need to cut hundreds of kilometers of iron bars, this is the best angle grinder for you.
It is lightweight, powerful and easy to use and maintain. A good asset for any workshop.
This is a lightweight, easy to handle angle-grinder. Its size and weight make it ideal for tricky jobs. The only minor downside is that a screwdriver is required to make adjustments to the guard.
I bought it to sort out my fence.
I needed to cut cement posts and it did great job.
Easy to assemble and easy to use.
Good power.
Deffinetly recommend
Seems like a good grinder. Not used as yet but all working . Got a job in the queue to use it on. If l remember l will pass on any comments, if relevant.
The manual is huge and absolutely completely useless. I’ve given the product 5* anyway because once you work it all out for yourself the manual is as unnecessary as it is insufficient.
Only problem is with disc protector! Not to easy to set in to right position!
A Christmas present
Show he will be very pleased with i
Purchased as a gift, I’ve been told it’s just what he needed, lightweight and easy to use
I burned out my original Boch angle grinder, but I had used and abused it for about 25 years! Bosch Professional 601388174 GWS 7-115 Corded 240 V Angle Grinder is a direct replacement for my old one. It also has an improved guard. Great buy for the DIY people.
Great angle grinder but tightening the disc is clunky. The disc coming loose worried me. Also, it should be offered on Amazon with proper gloves, goggles and ear defenders
Nice easy to use grinder,,, good fun loads off sparkling ,,,wear good goggles to get the most grinding done
My husband is very pleased with this product which replaced another Bosch grinder which he has had for nearly 20 years
This is my second Bosch angle grinder. The first one still works, but like this one better. The only gripe I have is the design position of the handle. Its maybe the way I use it or the fact I’m left handed but for me, the handle is not righ
Well another great product from Bosch . I’ve used it several times now and it’s never faulted once. And I’ve used it for a good 6 hours in a day and It performed well under pressure.
Only used once but of good quality and good power. Used to sharpen lawn mower blades.
I am pleased with this item. Its easy to use.
Bosch angle grinders are our go-to item when doing metalwork, the thinner handle is easier to hold so fatigue doesn’t set in, light enough, and strong enough for the job required. Prime day price was excellent so purchased 3!
This angle grinder arrived on time and in perfect working order. I recommend this product.
Great bit of kit. I’ve not owned a grinder before. It was very easy to set up and use.
Great little grinder with a Bosch diamond blade will cut threw anything with ease
Value for money. A little on the heavy side but not really an issue. DIY user so far used them on flags block paving and metal. Safety features all ok not posed an issue so far after 3 months or so and discs easy to change. Would buy again.
Have been cutting and shaping tube recently for a welding project so thought I’d invest in a new angle grinder. Actually have this one set up with a cutting wheel and my old one with sanding / grinding discs. The main improvements I see with this one is that the nut holding on the blade is easier to remove which makes blade changing a whole lot easier, although it is still via a small, two pronged, spanner. Also the cowling gives better clearance. So, no issues so far, does the job and runs well.
Brilliant for the building if my BBQ/fireplace/Greek oven. Making light work of brick cutting. Making my work easier for a monster of a job!
Bought this for my son who is really pleased with it, consider it to be good value for money
The tool was bought to cut back some brick work, which it did quickly and easily with a Bosch diamond cutting disk (Bosch Professional 2608602191).
I certainly don’t doubt the ability of this device to cut or grind materials. It certainly seems to pack some power, much more so than bargain basement grinders I’ve used in the past.
This grinder was much heavier than I expected.
It would have been nice if it had a variable speed control.
I wanted to pack it back into the box after I had used it as I don’t expect to be using it again for a while. I couldn’t get the guard removed and found it quite fiddly to put on originally.
It would have been nice if the tool had arrived with a case like the Bosch Professional products I have previously purchased.
Bosch & Makita might not be the cheapest but they do the job required and last long enough for us professional builders to justify prices and durability
Perfect for cutting up gate posts close to ground level
Great first grinder. It’s very no frills (no speed control, shock absorbers, etc) but just works. The handle can be easily attached to either side and disc changes require a single tool (which is supplied).
However, that’s kind of all that’s supplied. A read through the manual and you suddenly realise how many additional bits you might ideally want/need. What to cut metal? Then you’ll be wanting the metal shroud and hand guard. Don’t want the hassle of carrying that changing tool? Then you want the quick-release collar. Etc. Suddenly that initial price starts to creep up.
All in all, would definitely recommend. With the price as low as it is (especially as it often comes up on offer) I’m not sure why you’d get anything lesser.
Great tool, thinner handle makes it more comfortable and safer to hold.
Product well worth the price and easy to use nit too heavy too
Great to use but had the disc in the wrong way round better instructions would have helped
I didn’t dislike any thing about this grinder, at the same time angry because I already had one of these machines and it was stolen from my house, that’s why I had to buy another one to replace i
Coming from an old green Bosch 240V grinder, this version is better in every way – more powerful, lighter and thinner (although longer).
Being 110V is a minor inconvenience but having a generator that can output 110V and also a small transformer makes it only a minor and much safer inconvenience.
We use this all of the time at work and have had the Bosch ones for the last few years. We only replace them with the same one as we have been very pleased with these over the years. The slimmer hand grip makes it better to hold and manoeuvre. Would recommend.
wasnt aware that it was the American industrial product requiring a transformer, but good produc
excellent grinder but need carbon brushes for GWS7-115 currently have 20 in use on shop floor + 4 faulty in need of brushes Regards R Bradbury
Watch out for the kickback when cutting hard materials – don’t rush it!
I’m very happy with this purchase. I am a serious DIY’er, not a pro, but I am prepared to invest in good quality tools. This was a good investment and it certainly meets my needs. I would recommend it.
Bought a cheaper angle grinder and it burnt out after using it on granite this one goes through like butter well worth the extra cos
Replaced a Dewalt that failed! This is in another class, powerful and easy to use. Very solid construction, and so pleased I chose this Bosch angle grinder. Used on 4 jobs already and really performed well
The best. Will do a days work repeatedly. Rather unlike those who buy this.
I put 3 stars for easy to use not because it is not but because this tool is dangerous. All the brands all around the world made them in the same way – holding hand is one inch away from the cutting edge of the disc?! You must be very careful!
Good little grinder. I’ve used these a lot in the past and never really had a problem with them. Good size too. Capable.
I can’t believe I thought I needed more power than this!
Goes through plaster and brick like it’s not even there (although you have to buy your own cuttings discs, it doesn’t come with any to get you started)
Starting to think you can’t go wrong with Bosch Professional range.. they’re just so solid!
Bought for my husband as his old one was worn out. Definitely worth the money, and most of his tools are Bosch. Would definitely recommend.
It’s a brilliant tool to use, it’s so good my son wanted one for himself which I bought consideri g that is 2 that I have purchased if any of my friends are interested I would gladly recommend.
Powerful enough for the price and after a day spent cutting through old iron, it coped with ease. Good to see it does not have the old adjustable spark guard which was always a pain and forever adjusting itself. Power switch feels little flimsy but easy enough top operate. More cable would be nice and not having a case a bit of a pain. But good for a solid cheap grinder.
How did I live without one of these? I’ve worked it hard and it keeps on chooching.
I’ve used it to strip paint off floors, slice mortar out of masonry walls, cut up bits of steel. I think this is what it’s built for but it’s very good at it.
They’re noisy as anything, but you knew that, right? wear ear defenders and dust protection.
Perfect tool that does a great job. I had a 2″ thick 12″ high curb stone to cut so purchased this grinder and I was amazed how easily it cut through it with the diamond blade I purchased with the grinder. I did have to attack the curb stone from both sides but it was better than spending 75 quid to hire a big one for this small job.
Well, if not over packaged so arrived in perfect condition. Very pleased at a good price. With all the news of global warming and deforestation I really think the over packaging issue should be looked at. Afterall we are all asked to help the environment are we not?
Slimline and compact for the power output. Light and nice to hold and manoeuvre for longer jobs. Nice on off switch and good quality overall fit and finish.
Great little grinder outperforms my barely cheaper ones, I will update further in a few months
Usual Bosch standard. Easy to handle, more than adequate for most purposes.
What do you expect with a Bosch grinder. Top product and great value
Seems the job, maybe a little underpowered, but it was going through some fairly thick alloy
ice angle grinder, would be 5 stars if it had shipped with at least one grinding disc. I mean one would expect a grinding disc with an angle grinder?
Quality Product light and easy to use but that’s Bosch
ice quality, as expected, light and quite powerful, does what you’d expect. Nice long lead and easy to assemble. No carry case but it was a low price so i can live with that!
Excellent product. When fitted with a diamond wheel it cut thru granite slabs like butter.
Very good product- works as advertised. Very prompt delivery, thank you.
Just what I needed… Good quality tools always from Bosh.
Brought this to replace my old grinder keep playing up, so far happy with it gets the job done
Too many tools in the garage she said… clearly I needed the angle grinder because I wasn’t going to get rid of the metal stump with a hand file… Right tool for the right job. Then again she did say my arm was clearly well developed from teenage years of exercise moving it in an up down motion.
Great – Nice and thin for using with one hand. Not as heavy as other grinders but just as powerful. Because it is lighter you have more control when using it.
Bought this Bosch grinder especially to cut paving brings and I was so please with the performance. Great machine fit nicely within my hand hold. Also have cut marble tiles. Blade easy to change.
Brilliant tool. This is the second one I have had ,the last one lasted 12 years and got a lot of heavy use I will only buy Bosch because of the build quality and reliability
Smooth, quiet grinder. Very easy to use one handed. Gearbox stays cool enough. Like a lot of UK power tools, the cable length is too short at around 3m. Adjusting guard involves winding screw all the way out. But, it’s a good tool. Would buy again.
Small but powerful. Easy to assemble from box with illustrations and well written English -language instructions and safety guide. However, I did find the black screw- in handle on the short side when watching to follow my line to cut. Will investigate an extension, if available. Do note that the new style locking lever (silver coloured, supplied in box) has TWO sizes of small rods to fit into the central hub when tightening the disc or changing it. Earlier models had just one set, so there was no doubt how it slotted into the sockets. Initially, I thought I’d been sent the wrong sized lever, but soon found it was made for different machines. As expected of Bosch, a decently made (even down to the protective
guard, which is “lipped” ) power tool – unlike another make [whose name begins further down the alphabet] and from whom I’ve been trying to prise answers out of for TWO WEEKS.
My 21-year-old angle grinder expired and this is a worthy replacement. Good quality, powerful, attractive price and swift delivery – all good.
