So much better than my old bose headphones a much better sound around the whole spectrum and very comfortable snug but i prefer them like that rather than feeling loose and falling off, overall I’m a very happy person with these.

I really like the B & W PX7 headphones! I initially purchased the Bose NC 700 which I returned. The Bose were the most comfortable of the two mostly because they are lighter. The sound quality of the B & W of is by far superior. I traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and the noise cancellation was very good. I highly recommend these if sound quality is the important factor. The quality is excellent and they do not feel cheap in any way. I wish they were just a little lighter on my head, then they would have earned five stars.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Over Ear Wireless Bluetooth Headphone, with Adaptive Noise Cancelling appeared to live up to the hype for the several reviews I read. Unfortunately for me, I had to return this headphone because the need to use this for phone calls was part of the reason I am shopping for headphones. This headphone is not perfect for phone calls. The sounds were terrible for calls, or for use of the Bluetooth wireless mic with my PC for zoom calls.

Only slight downside is they don’t pack away into a small case for carrying around. Other than that an excellent product.

The wear sensor seems to be very sporadic. It was fine until the software update and now it only works sometimes. The best lucj seems to be right after turning them on and only with the app connected. Otherwise these are great sounding and immersive headphones. Pricey for the glitches though.

If you are searching for a true audiophile experience this is it! Balance, clarity, colors, everything is very high end. Bass are powerful but not over amplified. Treble are sharp and crisp. Voices have an unbelievable definition and clarity. Materials are high quality and nice looking. Battery has a long life and is quick to charge. Comparing to competition (Sennheiser, Bang and Olufsen, Shure and so on) the B&W PX7 is highly underrated (and underpriced for the quality in my opinion). Try this and you won’t believe!

The soundstage on these are wide and clear. This is the best Bluetooth audio experience I’ve ever had, coming from Bose and Sony ANC. While those headsets sound a bi muddy, the B&W sound clear and true to the track. The sound is not artificial, you get to hear tracks as intended. Very impressive stuff for Bluetooth connection. The ANC is better than my QC35 II. Well worth the premium.

I knew nothing about Bowers & Wilkins till having to find a replacement set of Headphones here in the studio right in the middle of a Post Production Dolby Atmos Mix of a film!

I saw the speakers in the Abbey Roads Studios then on the Bowers & Wilkins website then saw the very same Engineering and engineers whom design the 800 Diamonds loud speakers designed these and I will not turn back to anything

    I love my Bowers & Wilkins px7

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs I already own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3’s, the bar was already pretty high for me in terms of sound quality, active noise cancellation, battery life and comfort. After only two days of use, the PX7s are already up there with their award winning rivals.

I actually have to say that, in spite of the fact that the headphones haven’t burned in yet, I actually prefer the sound on the PX7s. There is nothing wrong with the sound on the Sony’s, which I still class as ‘exceptional’, it’s just that IMHO the presentation of the PM7s comes across as slightly more natural and detailed. It’s feels more analogue in nature. Other reviews have mentioned muddied mids, but I’m definitely not hearing that. Listening to some of the Masters tracks on Tidal, I’m hearing little details that weren’t obvious on the Sony’s.

Active Noise Cancellation is top of the range. Ironically, I haven’t used it as much as I thought I would, and the reason for that is the fit creates a seal so good, that the resultant passive noise cancellation is good enough for me in most situations. Haven’t had an opportunity to try it out on public transport yet, and to be honest it would be difficult to beat the Sony’s which do a stellar job.

Not as comfortable as the Sony’s. Slightly heavier and they clamp a bit tighter. That’s probably the reason for the seal that results in good passive noise cancellation. Have wore with glasses and it feels ok, I just don’t see me wearing these for extended periods. Also, they are a tad bulkier than the Sony’s.

Battery life is exactly as advertised. I got in excess of 35 hours, probably as a result of not having ANC activated all the time. And yes, a 15 minute charge using a USB-C charger provided at least another 5 hours of playtime.

Massively impressed with these cans. The sound quality alone has made these worth the money for me.

I never thought I’d say it but I miss my commute. Spending 2hrs each day in my car listening to music, podcasts and radio had become the norm. Covid Lockdown changed all that and working from home in a shared space meant I couldn’t crank up the volume when I had the need for a bit of a blast.

These headphones were a bit of a desperation purchase, I wanted decent bass, but not at the expense of clarity, something that wouldn’t fall apart or make me look like a teen wannabe. I read the reviews, and none of the more expensive front runners were fault free. Noise cancelling, use with a phone or with multiple devices were not priority checklist items. Good sound, battery life and comfort were, as was a 3.5mm jack for use on a flight. This resulted in the Bowers and Wilkins PX7 being shortlisted with the Sony WH-1000XM4 /M3 and Bose 700.

Whilst checking out all 3 over a couple of weeks, a price drop alert arrived and I had no choice but to grab the PX7’s. They look great (in silver), not flashy or flimsy but mature and decent quality materials, all the movements are nicely damped and positive. Straight out of the box they paired with my device. I don’t have a particularly large head but these are never going to fall off on their own.

The sound is full and rounded, bass is there if you dial it up a bit on the iTunes equaliser, speech is clear and crisp. My ears are not quite as sharp as they were so I’m not going to go into detail, besides everyone’s perception is different but I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find the sound you want out of them using tweaks to your equaliser.

The battery life seems to be limitless, I plug them in occasionally but never had a low battery alert after perhaps 15-20 hrs play. I don’t use noise cancelling as my home office is quiet so maybe this makes a difference. It’s not all perfect though. Taking them off doesn’t always pause play, and bluetooth only works over 4-5m. They are pretty bulky and don’t fold down much, the case would take up a sizeable amount of space in your cabin bag so I’ll be using AirPods for that. They don’t pair with my Philips TV but a 5m 3.5mm lead has sorted that problem out.

Then there is the fit, after a couple of hours it feels like my head is in a vice and I need a break to get circulation to my ears again. The pads themselves are soft and accommodating, it’s the pressure that’s the problem. I’m hoping that over time the tension in the head band will reduce because at the moment it’s punishing to keep them on for protracted periods. It may be no bad thing to give my eardrums a break but anyone with a largish head is really going to notice the firm pressure.

Overall I’m very pleased I went for these, and though not perfect, do every thing I want and need. Are the Sony or Bose better? I don’t know, it depends on what your priorities are but (tight fit not withstanding) I don’t see how anyone can complain about look, quality, battery life or sound of these headphones. They should definitely be near the top on anyone’s shortlist in this price bracket.

I’ve been an AirPod groupie for a long while (and still am), always resistant to wearing bulky, over-the-ear headphones, especially for business travel. I had the opportunity to get these Bowers & Wilkins PX7 headphones and quickly become a convert. The key likes I have are: (1) awesome sound, (2) very lightweight, (3) great ANC to blockout the world when it needs to be. I’m not a technical audiophile, but can appreciate the differences better a quality sound, and there is a much wider soundstage (somewhat expected) compared to the AirPods. The surprising best comparison to in-ear phones for me is that others can actually see that you are listening to something when wearing the PX7s. Perhaps I’m just a bit anti-social, but it’s nice having a more observable “I’m busy” signal. The attribute that the AirPods have over this is the ease of charging. It’s not difficult for the PX7 to be charged though the USB cord, it’s just easier to pop the pods into the case. However, the battery life on the PX7 is much longer in my experience. Regarding the noice cancelation feature, it’s excellent and has three settings (auto, high, low). I’ve taken this on several international flights, use this for a movie, some wind-down music, then to noice cancelling for sleep. Could not be happier to have this routine thanks to these headphone. The only drawback, not to these specifically, but rather the style of headphones is the bulkiness for packing / travel. I don’t often use these for quick business trips, but they have their place in the longer ones.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWeakest points are noise cancelling (subpar to my sonys) and mics for voice calls (subpar to my jabras), 4 out of 5 for these.

The sound, wearing comfort, buttons operations – are top and better than competitors. Battery and charging are great.

Looks are discreet (no gloss or fatty gold, think of montblanc) and umm professional for office etc.

I think they’re also future proof with technologies on board.

The app is stable and perfectly sufficient.

They demand high quality sounds to be enjoyed. A bit similar to wine, to properly enjoy the good one it makes sense to decant and sip from large glasses – but if the wine is barely drinkable better send it down without all the airing as it will only emphasize the low quality ; simple music may be presented unexciting in these headphones.

Sound is pretty good in these, if very slightly muffled. My only real gripe is that the ear-cups are too small. I have a big head and presumably big ears to go with it and these are way too small for my ears. The cups only cover 3/4 of my ear and I have to sort of curl up my ear to get it inside or else the headphones hurt them in a short time. Also the pressure on the sides of my head is too much, again probably because I have a large head. So if you are a very big guy these would not be for you.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThese were purchased to replace an elderly pair of B&W PX5 headphones that in my opinion were superior in audio performance, but unfortunately one channel has stopped working. From the start it was clear that the audio performance of the PX7 is inferior to the PX5. The bluetooth facility kept ‘dropping out’ unless the internal battery was charged before each use. Even in that case it was not guaranteed to stay connected. Now after six months, during which time they have only been used for about two hours a week, the RHS ear piece has failed, very disappointing. The noise cancelling facilty seemed to have no effect whatsoever. The performance using bluetooth was far inferior to using the connecting cable supplied with the headphones. Long term comfort of B&W headphones was never a strong point and that feature has been carried over to this incarnation. I am trying to return these to the retailer under warranty for replacement or refund. An unhappy story for a product that I could not recommend.
Since writing the above I am happy to report that Seven oaks audio have performed excellently. They handled the return and replacement of the faulty item without any problem,I can recommend the seller. My impression of the overall performance of the B&W headphones has not changed.

  39. Josh Rotter says:

It was such a tough decision choosing between the PX7 and the Sony WH-1000XM4. I watched review after review and then the PX7 came up on sale during Prime Day. I don’t write too many product reviews but I know from my own painful experience how difficult it can be choosing headphones at this price point and wanting to get it right, that I thought it might be helpful if anyone is facing the same dilemma.

Starting with the not so good – I like using Siri to change tracks etc. and that functionality is currently lacking. I’d love to see an update if possible which enables me to summon a voice assistant without having to click my phone first. Also, I’ve used the, for listening to high-quality music, making calls and joining VCs. Only a handful of times has this happened, but a couple of times a call has come through and I can’t seem to work out why the call didn’t come through the headphones. So I’ve needed to reconnect to the headphones to use them for the call. But that’s only happened a couple of times.

Then the good – starting with the sound, I’m in awe at the size of the soundstage and the sound quality across every genre I’ve listened to so far (I listen to a wide array of genres!). I’ve also used them for watching films and they’re superb. On the weight, I thought they’d feel heavier than they do, the clamp is perfect and they rest plush on the top of the head. Then calls, I’ve found them thus far to be great for VCs and phone calls with the other end commenting on the high clarity. I’ve also used them on Fortnite a few times and there is no sound lag at all. If I’m being brutally honest, they also look spectacular and I think B&W are ahead of the competition where design and comfort is concerned. Also, another positive is the 30hr battery and quick charging.

So, looking past the lack of voice assistant support and the occasions when I have needed to reconnect when on calls (could well be user error), I’m nothing short of delighted at my purchase and not suffering an ounce of ‘what if’ with the Sony’s in mind. These are as spectacular to listen to, wear and look at as I hoped. As my first B&W purchase, I highly recommend them and these headphones.

  40. Anonymous says:

So if you’ve owned B&W products in the past, you will know the sound as it is classic B&W. I have used the Sony 1000X M3 and Bose 700 which are probably the 2 most similar headphones to this.

The Bose is probably slightly more comfortable and the Sony will have a little more bass. But for something that has everything, these are my winners. The noise cancelling is good, not the best, but that B&W sound signature is just perfect, bass is better than the Bose without sacrificing mid range like the Sony does.

I think if you buy these you will no be disappointed, so much more comfortable than the older B&W PX which had really stiff ear pads

I wanted headphones that matched several criteria.
1- working from home with 2 noisy kids around
2- comfortable when wearing all day
3- great sound for when I do music production using Reason.
A few friends recommended Bose but Im never keen to follow the crowd and I recently purchased some B&W speakers that I am super impressed by.
I was slightly concerned that a few reviews say that the sound is quite clean and is for audiophiles as i do like my bass thumping. However the tracks I play with bass do not disappoint .
I have had them a few days now and everything I play through them sounds amazing.
This includes streamed radio, spotify, Reason and vinyl from my technics decks.
I previously had on ear rather than over ear so its a slightly different wearing experience but I find these really comfortable and easy to wear for long periods.
As for the noise reduction, the over ear already reduces external noise but with noise reduction on I can crack on and concentrate on my work. Only problem so far is that I jump out of my skin when someone taps me on the shoulder as I am totally unaware of people walking in.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUPDATE 2: Almost a year to the day the right channel started fading in and out. These have a 2-year warranty so I called the local support office. Starting the RMA was straightforward and I mailed the unit to a third-party warranty center called United Radio. A human called after they received the unit to confirm the details of the RMA and had a replacement in the mail the same day. All told less than a week to get a brand new pair back to me. Excellent customer service!

UPDATED: Dropping to 4 stars due to the fact hardwiring them won’t work unless the headphones are powered on. Also, after more use turns out the mic quality might not be as good as I originally thought. I tend to use the laptop’s built-in mic instead of the headphones now.

Switched to these after returning Sony MX1000-M3 and wow! These blow the Sony’s out of the water on every metric. Sound quality is top notch for all genres. Bass is strong but not overpowering.

I wear all day sitting next to an air conditioner. The a/c is completely canceled out and they are comfortable enough for all day wear. No complaint from people on conference calls about not hearing me even with ANC on (this was a problem with the M3s).

With USB-C and dual device support these checked all the features I was looking for. Picked up on Amazon Warehouse for almost half off with no problems.

Only thing I can note is that the clearance between the ear and drivers is pretty tight so if you have ears more on the Dumbo side of the spectrum they might bump.

Fantastic sound – replacing my old and loved bse 35, I was unsure but read reviews and decided to buy.
Wow… Since arrived I’ve been listening to opera, jazz, blues / rock (Gary Moore like I’ve never heard before!) and of course checked out Dire Straits – definitely significantly better than the bse 35.

The other issues – comfort, well I’m still wearing and listening several hours since I bought them.

Noise cancelling – seems perfect as well – I sat in lounge with TV on and did not hear it at all.

Coming from an older pair of Bose QC’s I have to say the sound quality on these is stunning. The app makes it super easy to switch between devices (looking at you Apple W2 chip, B&W figured this out). The bass is deep, the noise cancellation is strong but adjustable, and the audio transparency mode is on par with my Apple AirPod Pro’s. I’m not an audiophile, I enjoy the Harman Kardon speakers in my car which is the only other brand I can reference for comparison. The on/off feature of just taking them off your head works well, the battery life is great, and while I don’t have the knack of the physical controls yet I’m sure I’ll learn them over time. The fabric like exterior of them makes them look distinct and refined, and not just another plastic wrapped device. Would I wear them to the gym? No for that very reason I don’t think they’d be easy to clean. Jogging? No. But on flights, yes. The office, yes. Dancing around in my underpants when no one is home? Yes.

I love these. Sound quality is incredible and really versatile. Does feel a bit like your head is in a vice but totally worth it and still allows hours of listening. After doing lots of research, I went for these over the Bose equivalent. The trade off seeming to be Bose with better noise cancelling but bowers with better sound quality. Pleased to say that the noise cancelling is incredible too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFrom an aesthetic and performance point of view these are simply outstanding. I usually use Beats but as we all know they are all top and bottom with nothing in between, overpriced, and fragile. Plus everyone has them. These have Beats-like bass but with everything else as well. I absolutely love them. Every detail in the music is evident. Zero hiss. Excellent noise cancelling too. Very comfortable. Not like Beats that clamp your head like a vice.

However, mine developed a fault almost immediately where the Wear Sensor failed. This means they do not power off when removed from your head, nor pause when a cup is lifted. Real shame. I had to return them. Bought identical ones from John Lewis as felt the two year warranty they offer might be needed. So only 4 stars because of that but I might have just been unlucky. The new ones are faultless.

4.9 out of 5Absolutely love these, the sound quality is amazing. I’m a big Bowers and Wilkins fan. I have their home speakers as well. I knew that the audio quality would be top notch, and of course they delivered. I was concerned about the comfort, because some of the reviews I read said that they were too tight on the head and uncomfortable after long use, and I have a pretty big head im a 260 lb 6’2 man so my dome fits the body type lol. Anyways, Last night I fell asleep wearing them and woke up with them still on this morning and still felt no discomfort from them. They are the most comfortable best sounding headphones I have ever worn. Love love love them. Only minor thing, is that I wish they could be a tiny bit louder, but they are designed for precision and accuracy and again they deliver in that realm. If you close your eyes and listen you feel like the artists are right there playing for you, just love them, so happy I made the choice to purchase these, they will be getting a lot of use from this fella!!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese headphones are beautifully built. They connect via Bluetooth flawlessly and have good noise cancellation properties. They are reasonably light in weight and remain comfortably and firmly in place. The overall sound balance is good, very good indeed for anyone on the move who likes a very strong bass, but therein lies ap problem. For quiet listening at home that bass can overbalance the whole musical perspective, shifting the focus of the sound down to the bass.
For example, a fine, well-recorded performance of Cesar Franck’s sonata for violin and piano was transformed into a piece for a majestic piano with a violin struggling somewhere beneath it. The piano sound itself was excellent but so heavy towards the bottom noted that it overwhelmed the performance. Therein lies a problem: it you like a heavy bass the PX7 sound will be very pleasing, in many ways it could hardly be bettered, especially since the sound stage is wide and has a sense of depth, but the your focus will always be on the bass. If B&W had provided an equaliser function so that the balance could be adjusted to suit the PX7s would be superb. I hope they will move in that direction quickly: these headphones deserve it

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI would encourage everyone to try and use these headphones for at least a couple weeks, the sound takes a while to adjust to. I’ve used Sony MX3, Bose, Beyerdynamic and none of them have the darker sound profile these do. But once you get a taste for them you’ll find they are a go to headphone for listening to podcasts and music on the go. Exceptional battery life, all the best in the latest bluetooth and if you have an android phone, you’ll enjoy higher quality music. They are pricey, but the quality of the construction and simple beauty is worth the premium as I’ll have these for years to come.

sound qulity is pretty good for a wireless headphone, most importantly, it doesn’t have background noises like other wireless headphones, which is amazing. Owned bunch of sony’s ANC headphones including first gen mdr-1000x, first gen wi-1000x and wf-1000x mk3, they all have certain level of backgroud noises, which is not a big deal but without it do make the music sound more “clear” . The head band structure looks very unstable but after months of use it holds up just fine.

The ANC on this headphone, however, is not as good as the sony’s. it can filter most of the low frequence noises but not many on the higher ones, people talking within close rage, high pich noises like knocks, impact of tablewares, are barely suppressed, which is a pity, but if that is the price for extremely low background noise, i personally consider it as good trade.

The only thing i don’t like about this headphone is that it has too many buttons on the back of it, and that is the exact place to hold when you try to adjust its position, you will accidentally click on those buttons, usually the play / pause one, and it is very annoying, you will have to hold on to the place where the cup connects to the head band in order to adjust or take it off, it is a thing that requires getting use to.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNot having anything wrong with my previous P5’s other than now permanently plugged in to the computer for the kids to game with, decided it was time for a wireless upgrade . I assure you these are awesome. The sound is amazing and battery life is long enough for two long haul flights. The packaging is exactly where and what you’d expect with Bowers and Wilkins. Connectivity with the app is top notch and auto cut off/pause when lifting a cup should you have to communicate with someone is awesome. My only small gripe is that they don’t fold up as compact as my others but this is forgivable as the build is so tough. Recomended despite the price

I personally liked the fit of these headphones. They fit very snug which is nice when you are working out at the gym because they are less likely to fall off your head.

The sound is very true to B&W. You will not get a big “room sound” like you will with the Sony’s at a similar price point but what you will get is a very neutral well balanced sound that reproduces the sound very accurately.

I still own the previous PX’s, which I’ve never been too impressed with, so when B&W announced this new replacement model, I was happy and a little fearful. Having already sent back a pair of the Sony XM3’s, which were decent but not all that great, I wasn’t sure if these would be any better. Well, I was so wrong. These are what the PX’s should have sounded like to begin with. So musical, so clear, so rich and full. They really are the most enjoyable headphones to listen to. They’re also super comfortable and much lighter. Brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI thought I would try some new gear after owning Sony WH-1000XM2 for a couple of years.
The Sony’s sat on my ears whereas the BW’s seem to encompass them, the BW’s are much heavier but for me personally the sound is richer on the BW’s, my main gripe with these is the controls on the right side get in the way when you adjust the right ear piece you invariably push one of the buttons its always the pause one that sticks out the most I have found. Ear fatigue is a tad worse they get uncomfortable after a couple of hours.
On the plus side the grey ones are 80 cheaper than the black ones.
Noise cancelling is good, the app is pretty basic but what I do like is you can pair multiple devices, so the one you’ve selected stays with the cans you don’t need to switch off the Bluetooth on a device that’s near by.

    [Updated after 2nd Pair]
I only thought it fair to revisit after getting a second pair. Amazon as ever were great with the return support and I had a new pair two days after arranging a return. The 2nd Pair are pretty great – probably the best headphones I’ve owned so far with the possible exception of an 20 year old pair of Sennheiser HD500s. You really are in your old little world with this – the noise cancellation is so good and there is no discernable background hiss or buzz introduced by the NC. They still lose a star for the poor quality of the first pair which by all accounts is not an isolated issue but the second pair made up for ti.
    ________________________

I ordered a pair of these a few days ago and have been seriously impressed by the audio quality. The noise-cancellation is also excellent. That’s where the good ends however. I noticed a slight clicking in the right-hand earpiece that develops about 5 minutes after I turn them on. Every time you move your head, you get a little metallic click – sounds almost like the tamper-proof popup on a food jar.

This is simply unacceptable on such an expensive pair of headphones and a quick web search indicates that this is a common problem. I contacted B&W who sent it on to their local distributer who has offered to take them back for a warranty repair and leaving me without headphones for several weeks – not the kind of service you expect at these price levels .

So I’ll be organising a return through Amazon. I’m not sure yet if I’ll try another pair or just stick with the default Bose option which might be more sensible. I’ll update this review if I find that the second pair are any better.

The poor quality is such a pity since they sound really great and they have by far the best noise cancellation I’ve ever experienced.

Not only do these sound great (a top priority), they’re also versatile, durable, comfortable, and fashionable. Top-notch for casual use and satisfying even for moderate audiophiles, too, as far as wireless headphones go. The only flaw I identified was very minor – when adjusting the volume levels there is a fairly abrupt clicking noise that can’t be turned off in any settings.

Great technical performance, both on noise cancellation and on sound reproduction which is a truly awesome enhancement particularly when watching movies. A fantastic buy – so why only four stars? The answer is less than satisfactory customer service. The instructions that come in the box consist of a sheet of cardboard which describes only a fraction of the capabilities and was certainly insufficient for my needs. So I emailed the company with my questions. But no answer whatsoever!! Eventually I phoned the company to discover that there is an 8 page manual that can be downloaded and which answered my questions in 20 seconds flat. To my questions as to why nobody answered my email and why the company does not see fit to include an 8 sided 4 page manual is the box there was no satisfactory answer. So come on, Bowers & Wilkins, give your fantastic product the customer service it deserves!

Best sounding ANC on the market.

Had the opportunity to compare all of the leading models in a sound studio with airplane and subway noise piped in. These blew away the competition in terms of sound stage width and clarity across all ranges. Only the Sony had slightly better overall noise cancelling and the Bose 700 were slightly more comfortable.

    Headphones compared were:

    Sony WH-1000XM3
    Bose ANC 700
    Beyerdynamic Lagoon
    Sennheiser Momentum 3

I spent hours reading reviews of different headphones, I wear glasses and have a small head. Both these have impacted negatively on previous buys. However both these ‘problems’ were addressed positively in other Amazon reviews, couple that with the independant reviews of the product with praised NC capabilities and style quality. The most recent headphones of this type come in a hard shell case too, so….I went for them.
They live up to their billing and I can watch a programme and be aware of my friends or if I’m needing complete privacy to be lost in my world, I can too. I really love being able to move an earpiece and the film, song stops until I want to pick up again. They are so comfortable I can almost forget they are there! So for me they are perfect.

After setting up my EQ on my Deezer account the sound quality is just to my liking. Warm, full base with high clarity in the mids and highs.
With a Digital Analog Convertor on my computer the sound becomes slightly more warm. A DAC is not really necessary.
Love the wireless function, very quick to connect to my device. Love I have a choice between two Bluetooth devices and the ability to plug in hard wired when on an airplane.
The Noise cancellation is very effective, the three options between low, Auto and High makes it that every person can find a level he/she is comfortable with.
The speaker units fit nicely over ear while not being uncomfortable with too much pressure.
The battery life is truly amazing, I flew consecutively two times 10 hour flights and two 2 hour flights and I still had 40% battery life left. Never experienced anything better. It makes the fact that you can’t run this unit without battery power a moot point. You have up to 35 hours of battery life with noise cancelling engaged (This is quite a number of house longer than the cheaper model PX5).
I have had Bose and Senheisser Noise cancelling headsets bit the PX& by Bower and Wilkins far exceeds their performance on all levels, sound quality, ergonomic design, battery life and noise cancellation. On a recent flight my wife and I sat a few seats away from a crying baby who cried 10 hours straight (poor parents). I was able to sit right thru it without even noticing. My wife with her Bose noise cancelling headset was not able to rest let alone sleep.

Thank you B&W, the higher price is totally worth it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Users3 years ago I bought the P9’s with the intention of using them for trains, Planes and (not so much for) automobiles. They are still the most incredible sounding headphones I have ever experienced, but really not suitable in opinion for travel as they leak a lot of sound in and out. So, they have to stay at home for the most amazing immersive listening enjoyment in a quiet, and non public environment.
Now, with slight trepidation, I’ve had another go at b&w tech on the go.
Like the P9’s, you really need to run them in. I’ve run through 1.5 charges now, so pushing on 45 hours listening time, commuting, and also a bit at home, and the sound has opened up. they sounded good to start with, but are still improving.
I am listening on Amazon hd music service, which I would also recommend as a worthwhile step up from mp3 quality services.
They are not quite as good as the P9’s, With a slightly more limited range – in the context of the P9’s having an incredible range of 2hz to 30khz – but at half the price, they are equally incredible with value As well as all round sound quality in mind. They are soundproof to quite a loud volume, and offer a close replica of the well balanced, wide sound stage of their bigger brothers. Individual instruments have their own space without becoming disconnected from the whole. Personally, I don’t like the bass to be too over-bearing, but these punch it out without de-empasising the mids or highs. The noise cancelling has 3 options, but for transport I just stick on high, which is fine, and doesn’t spoil the music.
They are also the only wireless headphones I’ve heard which don’t experience an annoying slight time lag for synching with video playback, so perfect for movies on the move too.
I guess i am a bit of a b&w fan, and am delighted to have now got amazing quality home and away options.

These are exactly what you would expect from a high quality audio company. They’re excellent headphones for music – and audiobooks – and they also do an incredible job of blocking out external noises, whether you’re on a plane, in a crowded park, or just at home dealing with family over the holidays.

These are among the best headphones I’ve used for blocking out external sounds, and I travel a lot so I’ve tested and worn at least a dozen. They do an incredible job of blocking out almost all of the sounds of people talking and loud noises, but they also do an excellent job at blocking the quieter ‘dull’ (but equally a noxious and exhausting) sounds that you don’t tend to focus on – airplane engines, loud fans, etc.

Comfort wise, I wore these on a few long international trips and basically forgot I had them on — they never got tight or felt constricting, and I was able to sleep with them on, which I can’t always do with the larger headphones. The battery life was also excellent- and surprising, since they actually lasted as long as the claim in the product information, which usually really isn’t the case because when they test them it’s in a perfect situations, not actual use.

These are not the cheapest on the market, obviously, but if you’re looking for a high-quality, comfortable pair of noise canceling headphones that deliver great sound quality as well, this is an investment that you will be happy you made.

These are a solid pair of headphones. I was surprised by their comfortable and lightweight design. There are few things that compare to drowning out the world with beautiful music. These headphones provide appropriate escape with their noise canceling feature.

Although the price point is high, these absolutely have value if you’re looking for that unique experience and enjoy both the product quality and the sound quality produced. These truly are wonderful!

It’s disappointing that this brand doesn’t receive the recognition that other name brands experience. The gorgeous sound quality produced by these headphones is unmatched based upon my personal experience. These are absolutely worth the splurge, although it would be better if they were more affordable for all, hence the four stars.

Setup was intuitive and easy, and they fit nicely. Although initially tight, they have come to be extremely comfortable.

Easily the second best sound quality of any headphones I have used, the best when it comes to bluetooth, the noise canceling is a notable difference, even around the house where it mutes the noise of fans, AC and the washer.

Turning off and on is easy, the controllers are not completely intuitive but once adjusted forwarding or backtracking is easy enough, and it allows for quick changes of volume. A nice feature I have not seen elsewhere is that they sense when they are on and off the ears, automatically pausing and resuming playback. All in all I really like them, my favorite so far overall.

*for those interested the best was the German brand Miestro, by a hair. But they were built as monitoring phones, big, bulky, and not working with all jacks

Comfort: excellent. I’ve been using Bose Quiet Comfort for the past few years. These are more comfortable; nice large ear cup; light and clamp force is just right (no ‘squeeze” or tension after a few hours 😉
Sound: Right balance of bass, mid and high. Don’t by these if all you listen to is Base – they won’t meet your needs. If you want across-the-spectrum balance these are for you.
Swift charging and long battery life. The connection I found was consistently rock solid. (I got 30 yards up my driveway before I forgot I left me (connected, playing) phone in the house. Was still getting solid reception.
They pack up for travel nicely – little larger than the Bose cans I used to carry – but worth it for the benefits.

The Bowers and Wilkins have surpassed themselves- and just about everybody else – with their PX7 Headphones. In my opinion, the Bowers and Wilkins PX7s are the *best* Noise-Cancelling, wireless headphones for the money.

    PROS:
Comfortable, lightweight, wireless, Noise-Canceling over-ear headphones.
Charge with included USB cable. 15 minute Quick Charge gets you 6 hours playtime. No joke. 1.5 hours to full charge and 30 hours playtime.
    3) Bowers and Wilkins PX7’s Bluetooth is “Plug and Play.” (Once in discoverable mode, they connected easily to my MacBook Pro’s via the System Preferences Bluetooth page.) Wireless perfection!
    4) Easy-to-use one-touch controls.
    5) Great for listening to Music & Movies & for Gaming. The sound quality is amazingly full. Even at low volume, the sound quality is *excellent* – rich and vibrant.
    6) Adaptive Noise-Cancelling is excellent. I tested mine at the *very LOUD* big box store on the day before Thanksgiving. I heard nothing but the dulcet tones of Harry Nilsson. And then I grooved to She Wants Revenge.
    7) PX7s can connect via included headphone cable, too. And they sound just as pretty!
    8) Headphones come with a hard, fabric covered, zippered protective case.

    Sort of a CON:
PX7s are not a bass-intensive headphone. They’re full toned. My late Daddy would sigh with bliss and say: “They’ve got a European Voice.”

    NOTE:
The only downside to ALL Noise-Cancelling over-ear headphones is that they are, by necessity, tight-fitting. Bowers and Wilkins PX7s are by far the most comfortable -as well as the lightest – I’ve used. Also, I’m able to listen while wearing my eyeglasses.

I have tried a half dozen different noise cancelling headphones and these are hands-down the best. My primary purpose is when I’m competing in billiards tournaments. In these cases, I’m in a room with 35 tables, 200 people talking, music playing in the background, and 35 sets of hard objects hitting each other. I used them while having 7 adults carrying on loud conversations and couldn’t hear them, but when it was on the one thing I could hear was when I was doing the dishes and the silverware was clinking around, but barely. My favorite feature is that if I’m listening to a song and I take the head set off they pause the song and when I put them back on they resume the song by themselves.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBowers & Wilkins PX7 Over Ear Wireless Bluetooth Headphone, Adaptive Noise Cancelling – Silver

These premium noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones compete well with the popular Bose QC35 II’s. In most respects they are as good as or better than the QC35II’s, although they are slightly more expensive as well.
    * Much richer sound with higher fidelity than the QC35II’s. There is a big difference
    * USB-C and fast charging rather than older slower micro-usb charging
    * 30 hour battery life, vs 20 hour battery life
    * 3.5mm jack for the option of a wired audio connection (rather than the proprietary 2.5mm jack that requires a special cable on the QC35II’s)

But there are a few areas where I prefer the QC35II’s
    * The QC35II’s have slightly better noise cancellation – but just barely
    * I find the QA35II’s more comfortable and seal better
    * They both fold and swivel for more compact storage (and the carry case is considerably smaller)

If audio fidelity or battery life are your priority the PX7’s are the clear winner. If noise cancellation is your priority, the QC35II’s win by a hair. Most other things are very close. Either could be a great choice for most people.

In my case I’d still choose the QC35II’s by a slight margin based mostly on comfort/ergonomics – that that’s going to be a very personal thing and depend on the size and shape of your particular head.

These headphones have been my favorite sad that I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned a few pairs of Bose noise canceling headphones before, but this side blows them all out of the water. I’ve recently use this exact set onto international trips. Both trips are required spending 20+ hours in an airplane. Do you use headphones are perfect for just such a trip. They have an amazing battery life, over 30+ hours. The sound is tremendous, and they really do a great job at blocking out the background noise, everything from engines to screaming children Children.

These headphones work great in Bluetooth. I’m able to connect them instantly to my iPhone and listen to music for hours. As the stewardesses walk around asking for drinks or meal orders, when I left my headphones to listen to them talk, it automatically pause the music. This is a very handy future and very useful when listening to audiobooks as well. When it comes time to watch something from the in-flight entertainment, the included audio jack cable plugs into them making them pay wired set of headphones as well. The sound quality on both wired and Bluetooth connections is amazing. Are use headphones are truly worth it. On a quick layover a quick plug-in I’ve only an hour or so and they are back to 100% battery life. I don’t know if I would’ve been able to handle the trip without this. Looking forward to enjoying many more trips with these headphones.

At first glance, Bowers & Wilkins’ PX7 is an excellent set of intuitive, noise-canceling headphones.

Design, The PX7 is designed to be lighter than previous Bowers & Wilkins headphones, with a carbon fiber and plastic composite used to create the headband; the brand says this material is just as strong as traditional aluminum but offers more flexibility at a much lower weight. Memory foam ear cups provide a soft cushion against your ears, as well as creating a good seal that physically blocks environmental sound from ruining your music. When I tried the headphones on for size, I found them to be really comfortable, with a lightweight feel.

    battery life, AMAZING!
Battery life comes in at 30 hours (when listening to music with ANC turned on), while a quick charge feature gives you five hours of audio playback from a 15-minute charge.

    Pros:
    Key Specifications
    Black and grey finishes
Four levels of active noise cancellation
    Adaptive noise cancellation
    Bluetooth
    30 hours of battery

    Cons:
    Earcups don’t fold inwards

Overall, This headset is by far the best Adaptive noise cancellation headset without any hesitation. Audio quality seems up there with the best, while the carbon fiber arms remove around half the weight. Hopefully, the ANC tech will be as effective as removing external hubbub, without impacting on the musicality. LOVE THIS!

    Goose bumps!

Better than PX. Lighter (not much) less bulky and carbon fibre looks and feels cool. Good build quality. Comfortable. Natural sound. Good separation.
Updated 10 months later .. annoying faults developing saying ” second device connected/ disconnected “. Will seek solution under warrant so let’s see

These headphones are far and away the nicest headphones I’ve ever owned. They are comfortable and the sound quality is excellent! The battery life is great too. If you are looking for high end headphones, these will not disappoint. I will admit that my only prior experience with headphones is with much lower end ones that worked just fine for me, so my standards are not super high. But I don’t have a single complaint about these.

Bar none, these are the very best headphones I have EVER put on my head. They are light yet sturdy, light enough somehow that you don’t actually feel them resting on the head after just a few minutes. The over the ear surrounding pads are a leather (or leather-like) material that is baby butt soft and completely encapsulates the ear so that noise-canceling is almost all-encompassing.
I just returned from a long trip cross-country and used these to great effect. I was seated in two aircraft: a jet and another a regional turboprop. On takeoff, the unholy caterwauling of both these aircraft were tamped so effectively, I may as well have been in First Class rather than right by the engines. I only remembered I was in steerage because of the cramp in my legs. Too bad.
Initial Bluetooth connection was easy, it was almost at 100% when I broke it out of its box initially. Over the total 7 hours of flying, the battery level never went below 70%. Absolutely brilliant. And the features! Wow: so, there are a few separate levels of noise canceling (NC) that are possible, from low, to Auto, to High. Auto will change and adapt as the case may be, and high will result in almost completely cutting out the sound of that cute baby in the next row over whose parents are bewildered and embarrassed by its fusiness.
Another wow feature: moving the headphones so you can hear the air stewardess ask which beverage you want will result in the automatic stop of whatever you’re listening to and after requesting that glass of 1990 Chateu Latour, replacing the headphones results in picking right back up from where it stopped. Oh man, what a beautiful experience.
Everything about these headphones bespeaks high quality, and even the case itself is magnificent. If you appreciate listening to your music in ultimate tranquility, accept no substitutes.
I have not tried connecting the included plug because Bluetooth works brilliantly for me, but one of these days I will. I expect nothing but the best, of course. 5 stars, 10 if I could.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersMoin.

Die App-Software hat sich ebenfalls verbessert. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWOW!!! You gotta hear these. It feels like I am in the studio with these headphones. All tones from the highs to deep bass is so rich and full it will make your mouth water. If you appreciate good, clean, crisp audio then these will give you the eargasms you’ve been waiting for. I can say I’ve tested louder headphones but never had any that were this good. Don’t get me wrong they are not weak when it comes to volume. I’ve owned Bose noise cancelling headphones for years and I’m done with them after these Bowers & Wilkins! I really appreciate when the bass is going on full tilt that the highs don’t weaken one bit. Most headphones will distort the highs with every bass hit. Not here though.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersOnly had the px 7’s for a few days, so far these headphones are far more comfortable than the previous px model. The sound is superb with wide separation, good bass excellent mids and great highs.battery life is really good 30 hours with usb-c charging, also a hard case is provided. Will update review after a couple of weeks.2 weeks later and my thoughts about the px 7s, they are not very comfortable, after about 30 minutes I’m having to adjust their position time and time again. The other problem is that i find the noise cancelling is not good at all, I’m wearing them and listening to music with noise cancelling on and I can still hear the tv sound, kind of a humming sound, will give them another week before deciding wether to return them or not.final thought, I returned them because of the clamping force and noise cancelling, i think that they are overpriced for what they are.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was surprised that I would like the headphones as much as I do. I was concerned that they seemed overpriced for what they are, but What they are is more then I expected. The quality is amazingly clear. The separation of individual layers of sound make you feel that the sounds are live.I paired with my iPhone and music library. The music has never sounded better I found a new use which is listening to music while I workout on my recumbent bike. Because of Pulmonary Fibrosis I am a limited as to what I can do or where I can go.I am enjoying my adventure with these headphones.I have a nice pair of Sonus Faber speakers in my home, but the noise cancellation proves to make these a better listening experience. I close my eyes and feel the presence of each sound.Jazz, blues, and classical sound all come alive.
