With guidance from dvd ifound the kit easy to use, and made the job easier.
All good take your time when starting out, the bricky pro will keep your brickwork clean and the mortar beds uniformed. Once you’ve got it from the ground and everythings true it’s very simple and enjoyable. Building a porch to the front of my house getting alot of nice comments from neighbours, and job offers.
Brought it just to try my hand at building a small wall so easy to use and made a great job of it saved 250 during it myself
No being a fulltime brickie, this was a great bit of kit. After a few courses, my walls started flying up – only block work so far but so easy to use and a really good finish. Highly recommend and the kit – trowels etc, well handy

Easy to use and great results. I hadn’t realised the importance of making all of the cement joins the same width (10mm) until I used this. As a result, the bricks on my wall all end at the same place both vertically and horizontally. If you’ve not laid a brick before then I definitely recommend this. I’ve had loads of compliments from neighbours and passers-by, astonished that I’ve not laid a brick prior to this.

Good size product, but not strong enough and difficult to cleaning, because back side is not flat.
This tool helped in building a block wall.
It took a few tries but once you get the hang of it, it makes the job easier.
Just have a few practice goes first.
I have not done much bricking in the past, however thought i would give it a go with this. The kit comes with everything you need apart from a strong string line, but i will admit easy to set up and easy to use. Like i said i am no master but we was pleased with the results.
I was a little dubious about this, but thought I’d give it a go… I’m so glad I did!
Absolutely brilliant, the trowel is easy to use as it handles really well. I would definitely recommend, it speeded up my small project and the finished wall looked superb. I’m not a builder, but have built a few walls before, but this made it easy!

This make wall building so much easier. I now have the correct amount of mortar between joints.
Put off buying one of these for years. Wish I had though. Definitely makes brickwork easier and smarter for DIY bricked.

The only issue as others have remarked, it’s a pain to pull apart. I used as a 1st timer and rebuilt two small walls and the results were good.

put yor mix in scrap off easy, just take your time nice and steady !
excellent product very robust lets you build single or double walls just get expert advice on your mix ratio as this is key i layed facia bricks so the last thing you want is cement runnig down the front

Great piece of kit saved me 800 already. I have tried to build with block in the past and it didn’t go great. This makes it very easy I’ve even moved on to brick having built a front garden wall. My next project is a brick and block shed.
Yes you have to make sure the first course is level and straight but once that’s done your off.
Arrived the next day. DVD is really easy to understand and makes the job really easy with the Bricky Pro.

Great tool. Easy to use and for a novice/medium capability builder doing stuff around the house and garden it is a real help.
Not impressed with the two sizes of plastic elements that supposedly aid the application of uniform thickness of mortar on the ends of bricks and blocks. Otherwise, a good piece of equipment for bricks and the two standard thickness of concrete blocks (102.5 and 140mm). Certainly aids uniformity in thickness of mortar, aids productivity and enhances appearance along runs of bricks and blocks. Mason’s Mate and the DVD are also very useful parts of the kit.
Happy with product although enclosed DVD wouldn’t play and had to resort to utube for directions on use

Very helpfull for achieving a reasonably neat result for someone like myself who finds cement work difficult.
I’d say as a novice bricklayer it aids you initial confidence no end, and worth buying just for that, but it won’t help you with laying the first course of brick onto the foundations. You could lay a batten to guide the tool, and remove the metal guide lugs underneath for this, and would guide the damp course at the same time.
It wiukd get 5 stars but i found the adjustable frame very hard to get apart, without risk of severe injury, so wear some rubber gardening type gloves to reduce abrasions to your hands, i had to pry my frame apart using levers while releasing the catches that keep it together, really due poor finishing of what is otherwise a well made useful tool.
The metal guides are very sharpe so be aware, tricky to get over so started onto the bricks, especially when making a cavity wall. needs a bit more ingenuity in design to to make this task much easier.
Once up and away you will be laying mortar at a heck if a rate, as you slide the tool leave a few inches of the already laid mortar showing in the tools trench, otherwise you get ridges. The video don’t show you checking your bricks for true laterally (across), a small but accurate level or just a bubble is very useful ti check with.
Be careful not to trail your fingers behind in the wet mortar, the tool really could use a post handle at either end to give better control when sliding it, bit like a shoe plane if you like.
I found the end mortar guides a bit useless, tricky to clip onto the end if the brick, even trickier ti keep it in place, a pro retired brick layer neighbour showed me how to place end mortar on bricks, much easier with less mortar used. basically simply hold the brick end for mortar up. wipe the trough loaded with mortar down one short side, twist then the other short side giving two pyramids, with trough about roughly 120 degree’s.
I found after a while you find yourself getting the mortar mix consistency right then i found i was starting work without it.
