Used to love the taste of a BBQ on a charcoal fire but what a difference this makes flavours aren’t just bitty smoke but whatever you flavoured the meat. Won’t go back now love i
I really don’t know how I’ve managed without this, I absolutely love it!
I use it all the time now whilst the weather is good. Fajitas, stir fry’s, flatbreads and all the normal stuff.
I would never go back to traditional bbqs and have had them for years. No flames everywhere when you take your eye off it.
What you waiting for, just do it!
I was looking for a new barbie and after some research thought I’d try one of these. More commonly known as a plancha, or griddle. The cooking surface is a flat plate, unlike a bbq which has the ‘open’ cooking grid. I decided to change because I was fed up with flames flying up into the food; fat dripping onto the gas burners; but most of all cleaning the cooking grids after use. This griddle has a steel cooking plate which is 90% of the weight of the whole thing, and it’s very heavy and solid. Cooks great, plus I can now cook small things which would have fallen through the grid on a bbq, e.g. sliced onions, fried eggs, omelettes – you get the picture. Best part? To clean it is a doddle – quick wipe down of the surface with kitchen towels. The plate comes off the housing for easier transportation. Recommended.
a nice easy to use item. handle a family bbq easily
Item came when it said. Looks fab. Easy to install. Have purchased it to use on out paintball site and its fantastic. Easy to control the heat. When finished, quick wipe over and it’s done
All very good .nice to use
Would be a good thing to be installed with a quick release gas conecto
Good solid item purchased for motorhome to use outside , the top weighs 12kg and rest weighs 12kg top lifts off so can be stored separate if needed , no flames getting stuff on fire as solid plate and grease drop through hole , need to purchase regulator and pipe separate
Love this item. Sits perfectly on top of our stone built bbq area.
we used this at our school summer fair and was really pleased with the performance.
Fantastic unit.
1st time I’ve used it this weekend.
Lights 1st time.
Gets hot quickly.
And loads of cooking space.
Got the cooking mats which keeps the hot plate clean.
This is a great product, that is far better than a barbaque, easy to clean,I have built a brink stand for it with roof, it looks well sma
Pros: prompt delivery as usual.
Great surface area for cooking ( handled barbecue for 30+ easily).
Gas inlet connector well placed at rear of unit
Gas burners evenly spaced in body and well controlled. Will need to experiment with the 3 burners to get multi zone cooking sorted.
Adjustable feet allow you to tilt the grill plate so residual cooking fat to drains away.
Cons:
Packaging inadequate, front right corner panel dented at bottom corner– cosmetic doesn’t affect operation of grill. Will probably panel beat it out when the mood takes me.
The formed steel parts are not deburrred got a few cuts when cleaning. A wee bit of sand paper will sort that.
Cast grill enamelling a bit thin even with plastic utensils when scrapping of resudue a few bald spots appeared.
Got 4stars because of cons, but overall a nice piece of kit for the price.
When used with 2 Teflon barbecue sheets grill performed brilliantly.
All in all the grill was a joy to use and due to large cooking area food was processed quicker with no flair up when cooking homemade bangers and chicken pieces.
It is mobile, but quite bulky, the 2 burner would have been a more sensible option for my family needs!
Slight buckle in hot plate, nothing I can’t live with, great value for money, solid and fun to use!
Bought cover but do seem to still gather water in the drip tray, says more about the cover.
Have built shelf in hut for winter storeage, expect years and years of use and really happy with purchase!
looks good, good control of flames. platework a bit on the light side. but cheep for the money. 4 star.
Pretty good. Moderately flimsy if you are carting it round a lot. The top is enamelled steel not cast iron, can’t decide whether to let a layer of permanent filth build up on it or scrub it clean every time. The top does just lift off for cleaning though.
What you can’t do is use a “paint scraper” type action on it like they do on burger vans or it will scratch up.
Because it is steel it does buckle slightly under use. We cooked 22 burgers on it at the same time. The front 20% doesn’t get very hot as there is a drip tray underneath it rather than a burner, but that is okay for piling up cooked stuff and keeping it warm.
The cooking plate has sides so you can fry up a mountain of onions in one go. Also was good for doing a large batch of american style pancakes.
Got it for 113 and at that price it was a steal. You obvs need a hose, regulator, clips and gas bottle but if you have ever set up a gas bbq this will all be very familiar. Happy cooking!
Bought this for our scout group and used it last weekend to feed 35 hungry scouts,(breakfast and dinner) fab product would buy again if we needed extra cooking areas.so much easier than using wobbly frying pans on small gas cookers.
wish I could justify buying one for myself.
