This is a great piece of equipment and it definitely is worthy of its price. The sound quality on acoustic piano is excellent for an electric keyboard. It is very easy to navigate, with a range of sounds to experiment with.
Highly recommend for beginners, as it is very cheap, very comfortable (real size keys that feel nice to play) and it comes with a nice, stable music stand for convenience.
My pre teens lived this keyboard as does my 21/2 year old grandchild. Great buy.
For the money I’m really impressed with this keyboard – it’s a good honest basic keyboard to learn piano/keyboard with.
It’s well made, nice key action, good sounds, with a metronome andor backing ryhthms & songs.
I like the uncluttered interface & non-shiny keys – it’s definately not a toy.
It can run on batteries (6x AA’s not included), which makes it easier to move around & fire up without having to worry about a power supply (which is inlcuded)
It supports midi over usb so you can connect it to your tablet, phone or PClaptop & use it with training apps, record midi sequences, or as a controller for other instruments.
It also has a headphone jack, so you can practice without driving the rest of the family mad !
Be aware that it doesn’t support a sustain pedal, but it does have a sustain (& reverb) effect that can be switched on or off (but not momentarily like a pedal does) – tbh for beginners this is not an issue.
The micro usb port very quickly after we used it. Not fit for purpose if using with a laptop.
Great purchase. Sounds nice and has all the functions you need. Also good size
Got this for my 15 year old daughter to help with her GCSE Music. She has played piano for years and also has a large longer keyboard. But she needed something lighter and transportable and this is light enough for her to get out from under the bed easily. She likes it alot and says that it compares well with the other keyboards in terms of how it feels and sounds. It doesn’t have lots of gimmicky features but that’s not what we wanted anyway. I’m very pleased with the purchase and I think it’s great value for money.
This is great! It’s so lightweight, so very portable; it’s thin (for a keyboard), so I can store it easily and bring it out for practice time; it’s a good size for a beginner; various features (some of which I’m still yet to try).
The only downside I’ve found is that when playing with headphones, sometimes playing multiple notes makes the sound go a bit distorted, so I have to play at a lower volume. I’ve tried this with a pair of earphones and my gaming headset, and had the same result at different volume levels, so maybe it’s just my ear gear? Maybe it’s an audio output thing, I’m not sure.
But the main thing to take away from this is that it is a very good beginner’s keyboard, I’m a very happy customer and my piano playing has improved well over the past few weeks since I purchased!
This is just awesome from start to finish. The sturdy carry built in carry handle is a great design. The sound is pitch perfect… Cant complain at all.
This was a great keyboard and it brought me a lot of joy for the 2 months I had it. I ultimately chose to trade it in for the CT-S300 because I realized I needed touch sensitivity. This was as perfect as can be!
Package arrived in good condition. Bought for my 2yo as a first start into a musical hobby, she has good fun on it and it (obviously) has more than enough functions for her. I haven’t played around with it as much as I would have liked by now but I like it too, keys feel nice and it’s got enough octaves to keep her going for years (and getting me back into playing again).
I’ve played piano before, but have stopped for many years and now I decided to try pick it up again. I chose this model for the compact size and good prize (75). It’s great, does everything it promises, my only small complain is the sound quality, I wish the piano sound setting was a bit more realistic. But at this price point and general product quality this is great, and I’m overall very happy with my purchase. If I keep playing, and it turns out I still enjoy it in a year or so, I will upgrade to a higher tier model with touch sensitivity and better sound quality.
Bought this for my wife who is an absolute beginner, she is very pleased with i
I recently decided to learn to play and this is perfect. It’s small enough to fit on my desk while still having plenty of keys. It has speakers and more keys than the more common smaller midi keyboards making it an excellent option for both MIDI and regular keyboard use. It can be plugged in or take batteries making it nice and portable. Additionally I got a three month free trial of Skoove (a browser based piano learning thing like Simply Piano) which required no installation of drivers, it was just plug and play. This makes the learning a bit more interesting as it can detect when the right / wrong keys are pressed, and does a good job of teaching you how to read sheet music if you are interested in that, though I think I enjoy following along to youtube videos more.
Excellent for beginners although I would suggest downloading the full instruction manual as the quick instruction leaflet that comes with the item is very short on information and does not show how to get different rhthyms and tones. I would also suggest buying the stick on notes for the keys as they are of great benefit in learning for the beginner. Excellent tones and beats that you can change to suit the tune you want to play. Great sounds produced for organ and piano both manual and electric. A reasonable selection in the 60 built in tunes with a heavy emphasis on classical that would benefit from a good selection of pop tunes eg 60’s to the present day. A very good purchase and exceptional value for money.
I got this for my daughter who’s doing GCSE music. It’s perfect. Simple to use. Not much extras in the best way. Many have complicated buttons and loads of extras. This one is simple to use. Its basically a piano that does a few other things. It is exactly what I need.
The keys are normal sized and its light without feeling flimsy. A great buy.
Great little product. Nothing special as expected, not for professionals, but perfect for a flat/house with little free room.
Sound is good with headphones, and for the price I wasn’t expecting anything mind blowing. Overall, it does what it does. Some of the keys can seem a little weak Vs others in terms of the loudness, but it’s not a big issue.
This is a great stepping stone for learners before going up to a 400+ 88 or 91 key. You want to make sure you like that type of instrument before investing big bucks and this allows for that.
I have been playing for a long time now and wanted this to blow off the dust.
Very happy, no complaints at all really. I recommend this for beginners (not only children) and amateurs trying to find a way to play on a budget.
Excellent product with various features, lightweight, crystal sound, very ideal for beginners. Only drawback is that keyboard is quite light, when clicking, it produces clicking sound, this might be normal for all electronic keyboards. Great brand, always recommend.
Overall it feels well made. It’s quite light but solid. It has a built in handle that makes it easy to carry around.
The keys are not weighted but are very satisfying to play. The sound is really good for an entry level keyboard. Bright clear tones. Not touch sensitive (the keys aren’t quieter or louder depending on how hard you play them).
I really like the design of the control panel. It has chunky simple buttons that are easy to press. Seems simple for kids to control but using the function button and the keys, there are quite a few more options available.
There is a limited range of instruments/voices but they all sound good. Quality over quantity.
Not sure about battery life as I only used it with the power cable
I’ve had a variety of Casio devices over the years and I can see from this keyboard that their quality is still as high as it’s always been. This is definitely a beginner’s keyboard and I found it easy to get started with navigating the keys and functions. Casio provide a free Music Academy on their UK website, with a whole course of downloadable lessons and midi files, covering the basics of music notation, notes, chords, rhythm, etc. Once you’ve worked your way through these and are happy with your skills you can access additional lessons from Gigajam and even go on to achieve real musical grades. I found this very encouraging and I can see that I’ll soon be able to play some satisfying tunes using their guidance.
The keyboard comes with a mains power supply, a stand for sheet music, a basic Quick Start Guide and a safety sheet. It has integrated speakers with a volume control – these have a good tone and can play quite loud if you like. There’s also a headphone socket so that you can practice without waking the neighbourhood. It is fairly light, helped by a good strong built-in handle for carrying. If mains power isn’t available for your performances you can insert 6 AA-size batteries into the underside of the board, but I haven’t tried this to see how long they would last.
The key and function setup is quite comprehensive really. You can get the board to play you a drum accompaniment, there’s a metronome and various other tone and tempo controls (122 Tones, 61 Accompaniment Rhythms and 60 Preset Songs apparently), plus five different ‘instruments’ – piano, E-piano, organ, harpsichord and strings. I preferred the piano and organ tones for my practice.
One sophisticated feature that marks this keyboard out from cheaper models is the ability to attach it to a computer, using its standard USB Micro B port, for using with software such as Garageband or Ableton. I haven’t got that far yet!
So, for the sub-100 price I think this is a proper learning tool and gives me most of the features of a piano to get me started on my musical journey. It’s well made and good value.
For the price, this seems a very decent keyboard, especially suitable for a learner. The sound from the speakers is perfectly adequate and pleasant, though obviously given the relatively cheap price, this isn’t going to fool anyone into thinking it’s a real piano. The keyboard is light to carry, especially since it’s design includes an integral carry handle.
The keys respond okay. They are not pressure sensitive, but have a satisfactory resistence.
The keyboard offers many instrument effects, rhythms and metronome simulations. These are okay, but we soon got bored of them, and so now stick to the standard piano sounds. We also found it difficult to select specific effects from the markings on the keyboard.
A good Keyboard for some-one to learn to play or revise their skills. Has a basic set of 66 piano key as well as several voices which does include concert pitch piano.
It comes with several tunes in the memory plus some basic rhythms to accompany melodies.
The feel of the keys is that of an organ and does not feel very piano like, but this is quite easy to get used to.
Connections to computers and amplifiers is easy and rewarding, though the small speakers in the unit itself give a sound quality that is pleasing.
Additionally the unit can be battery powered, these have a long life if an external amplifier is plugged in.
On the whole this is a very good unit for home use as it stands, and is quite light to use as a portable Organ/Piano well up to the standard we have come to expect from Casio.
The great thing about this keyboard is the handle, built into the main unit – makes lugging around easy. It’s slim and not too heavy considering the size.
Sound – as to be expected for a budget model, it’s nothing like a real piano and the keys are not touch sensitive (sound level is the same whether you hit hard or soft). The usual “noises off” are present – metronome, play-along accompaniment, but they are tacky and best avoided.
However, as a cheap instrument for learning to play on. If you succeed, you’d be upgrading, if not, it was only a budget model.
The speakers go up to a decent level, quite loud in a living room or spare room. It wouldn’t fill a hall, but then, it’s not the kind of sound you would want to inflict on others – keep it purely for practice.
The keyboard is very well made, comes with a nice music stand attachment and the power adaptor. The keyboard itself is rather slim and lightweight, making it perfect for travelling or storage.
The best thing about the keyboard is the that it can be connected via USB to a Mac or PC and be used in software such as Garageband or other compatible software. Setup is rather simple, just plug in and you are all set. However the USB cable is sold separately.
My only criticism of this keyboard is that the keys are a tad stiff, meaning you have to press down a tad hard in order for the note to be played.
Overall it is a solid beginner/budget keyboard 🙂

( Click “Helpful” if this helped ^__^ )
My Grandson aged 14 has already mastered the guitar to a good degree, so this will give him another string to his bow (no pun intended). He likes the fact that it can plug into his lap-top, giving him even more scope regarding sound.
Perhaps more instructions needed for people like me, but Casio’s website is very informative.
Very satisfied and would definately recommend for the musical members of the family, who will get loads of entertainment out of it.
Overall a very smartly made budget keyboard. The handle doubles as a holder for the music stand and it’s not heavy at all. There is not much give in the keys so you have to press write deliberately to play a note. This is to be expected on a budget keyboard though. The tones and demos are typically cheesy and there are multiple options you can follow, such as tempo or transpose, if you can bring yourself to understand the user guide.
Where this wins is its USB capability, that allows you to plug straight into a laptop as a MIDI input. If you have a MacBook, then you’ll have garageband. Or you might have Ableton or ProTools. In any case, this will work as plug and play, giving you oodles of new sounds on top of your existing ones.
Great fun Easy to get going and lots of functions and facilities to try out. Guidance provided is minimal in the box so you need to go on to Casio’s website for more.
We’ll be using this at Xmas with my wife playing and I’m using it to teach myself how to play.
USB link is very useful too
Great!
