You need to run your tank down to about 10 liters, 2 gallons for the right mixture then drive for 10 – 15 miles for it clean the engine. Refilling is a bit of a shock as I have a 90 liter tank. The engine seems to run better after use and fuel consumption improves a bit.

Used this product twice on two cars, Ford fusion 03 and Ford galaxy 1998 both cars had struggled to get through on emissions, but I tried cataclean and was surprised on how easy it was to use, just followed instructions on the bottle and gave car a good run at 50 mph were allowed for about 20 plus miles, then drove normal speed and mileage, car passed MOT four days later, excelleration felt better also tick over, not sure how much saved on mileage as I share both cars with my wife so hard to estimate mileage, the price is worth it on getting MOT and for environmental on emissions. Very happy with product no photos on using this product, top tip follow instructions and go for a decent run.

I had a problem with the oxygen sensor on my Vauxhall Mokka 1.7 cdti, receiving a message every time I started the engine saying service the car soon, I had this problem before a couple of years ago when I’ve changed the oxygen sensor, but now having the same error and message again I wanted to try this cataclean. What can I say, it worked as per instruction on the label. The error and message are gone, without deleting it through the obd II connection, and the engine feels like in normal operation mode. Really happy with my purchase and can’t recommend more!!!

2 bottles in one tank later and 600+ dpf temperature it cleared all the faults I was experiencing. Now I use it every couple of months especially if I’ve not done many long journeys.

Car with the fault was an Audi 3.0tdi v6

Every so often my 1.6 zafira b would kick out a P0420 code, catalytic converter below threshold. Also is struggled to get through the emissions test for the MOT. Saw this advertised and read the reviews, which were all good, so thought I’d give it a try. Also for the price I had nothing to lose. Followed the instructions which are easy to understand.. I’ve just completed a round trip to Scotland of 800 miles and the car drove like a dream. No EML light, improved mileage and good performance. Going to be using Cataclean every 3 months. Highly recommend.

Have used this product for a while with my old Honda CRV and since then the engine starts much more smoothly, acceleration and general response from my Honda is better. Mileage is probably better but certainly no worse. I tend to use it appx every 3 months as recommended. All in all its – from my experience – a great product.

I am always very sceptical of additives as there are loads of them out there and most of them to be fair are snake oil. I have always used BG44K but I decided to add Cataclean to my list and I am very impressed. I use Cataclean every 3 months and BG44K every 4,000 miles (approx) and my petrol engine is running as sweet as a nut!

With the Cataclean I buy 2 bottles a time and add to half a tank of fuel. Run it as low as possible before topping up fuel so that it gives the system a thorough clean with the half tank.

    Would highly recommend this product.

My 2005 Type R was reading as a dirty cat and even when I deleted the code, it came back within ten miles. I used this and it lasted 500 miles before the code showed up again. I’ll use it one more time and hopefully that’ll be problem sorted.

Extremely happy and will be using, at least twice a year.

Not too expensive so I tried it to clean my marginal sports cat before an MOT. I filled it into a quarter of a tank and used it all blasting up and down a dual carriageway to clean the cat. It got me through the MOT which was a relief because BlueFlame went out of business and a replacement wouldn’t be easy.

My low mileage car recently failed its MOT on emissions. I was told I needed a new catalytic converter and I should think carefully about keeping the car as it would cost 1400 for the job. Astonished, I googled for information and found Cataclean ! With numerous examples of other people who had the same experience especially with cars going nowhere during lockdown. So I put a bottle of Cataclean into my petrol tank 1/4 full, then gave it a good drive out with lots of gear changes. Then refuelled and took it to another garage – it passed with flying colours !! I’ve bought three and will be using it regularly now. Brilliant product.

Was a bit skeptical that the product would work but after having a reading of HC 306 I put the Cataclean in the tank and ran the car on the motorway with high revs and went back to test the emissions and had a pass with a HC of 84

My daily hack is a 2000 Volvo V70 T5 which I have owned for 17 years and which now has just slipped past 260k miles. The car has always been well maintained and has been a faithful servant for 20k per year commuting and dog-lugging for a number of years, largely without any real hitches.

Over the last several weeks, however, the car has been stuttering markedly between 2000 and 3000 rpm and has been throwing up a CEL and OBD2 codes, indicating both rich and lean running, at random, every 100 miles or so. After cleaning the MAF sensor, checking for vacuum leaks and replacing the boost control valve, all of which are a likely culprit for the issues I’ve been experiencing, the problem persisted. Although the lambda sensor was replaced relatively recently (c. 30k miles ago) and the spark plugs are only around 12k miles old, I thought about replacing both items as a prelude to the dreaded, last resort, injector replacement and/or new ETM module. As a shot to nothing, I first threw in a bottle of a quality PEA-rich injector cleaner – which made no real difference – followed by a bottle of Cataclean into the last 15 litres of fuel in the tank. After a 100 mile commute, on a freshly reset CEL light, the problem appeared to be cured. The car pulled like it should, the hesitancy/pinking had gone, and after what now amounts to 500 miles of driving I haven’t seen a recurrence of the CEL light or the pinking/stuttering on boost. It may only be a tub of acetone and xylene, but it evidently works very well for certain niggly issues relating to potentially gummed up components in the emissions and exhaust system. Worth a try if you’ve got an older car with a troubling, intractable, and potentially expensive issue.

    Fab stuff !
Car was stuttering and engine management light came on. After chucking this in and driving for 20 minutes, the next day the engine management light went out and driving smooth.

My engine warning light fault code stated catalytic converter was the issue. Its important to ensure you have less than a quarter tank of fuel before pouring into your tank – follow the instructions carefully. I did a 30 mile commute after applying and this did the trick – filled up after. Alarm cancelled using a cheap code reader and has not come back since (250 miles ago). Highly recommend using before exchanging for a new catalytic converter.

I’m already into my third bottle of this. Our DPF was regenerating every 80 miles or so, put a bottle of this into 1/4 of a tank & the car didn’t regen for 235 miles (town driving) Just amazing! The engine is quieter, better acceleration & MPG.

Bought this on the strength of reviews, have to say it’s impressive stuff. Light went off after about 20 minutes of light driving. Car feels a lot more responsive, MPG has gone from 27.5mpg to 31mpg, an upside I didn’t expect. I’ll be using this regularly as recommended.

I was smelling raw fuel occasionally on start up and my tick over was fluctuating slightly. After using this product my tick over seems rock steady and I haven’t smelt raw fuel since using it. I intend to use this as a preventative measure every two to three months.

Be sure to follow the instructions on how to use and you won’t be disappointed.

Well .. lot’s of reviews on this item .. so I’ve added two pictures.. my mot fail results and my mot pass ..
Didn’t have any lights on my dash and wouldn’t expect a fuel additive to turn one off ..
No idea about mpg .. its an rx8 so if I considered mpg better change car ..
All I can say is added at quarter tank .. had a nice drive little faster than normal but not crazy some high revs low gears ..
    Passed mot ..
No new cat 409 no new plugs coils, ht, lam etc ..
100% recommended especially for rx8 / rotary.. thank you

    Saved my rx8

my 1995 pug 205 failed her MOT for emissions, I was able to put a bottle of this stuff in the tank (i had a 4/5ths full tank, the bottle recommends being dispensed into a tank that is 1/3 full or less) and i drove her hard for 40 minutes, im not gonna lie i was racing the engine hard on a dead stretch of road to run the engine in as ive not been out a lot due to covid lockdown.

My car maxes out at about 100mph, i had her sitting in the 90s roaring for about maybe 15-18 minutes total? And once i taken her back to the garage, the mechanic retested her for the MOT emissions and she passed, where previously the mechanic suggest the cat has failed and needed replacement (sod that it was only replaced 2/3 years ago for 500, i wasn’t going to do that again!)

Brilliant product, it is NOT snake oil, this stuff works incredibly well and im forever going to be putting a bottle in my tank and race the engine before every MOT.

Last year my car failed the MOT due to exhaust emissions. The garage put in an additive, took it for a drive and it passed.

I put in the additive this year the day before the MOT, took my car for a short drive and it passed first time plus the additive was cheaper buying it myself.

I was told about this product from a friend of mine that travels a lot of miles in his vehicles & he uses it every 3 months & never had a problem with DPF filters or any clogged catalytic converters, I’m now using it on my Petrol car as it has a GPF Filter system on it & there is a 7 gram of soot difference from the DPF filter so I’m using it every 6 months as I’m not doing the mileage, even in a new car you can tell the difference once it’s done it’s work More power, better throttle response & no sooting up of the GPF filter or the Catalytic converter.

As the headline says it really made an impact in improving my mpg on my 2006 s60.
According to the DIM (dashboard system) I was getting on average 27.3 mpg prior using the product.

I gave it a go as the reviews were really inspirational and positive. Why not try! Always spent 5-8gbp on other well known brands which actually required now and then re-filling in the tank (and most of the time I would forget), so why not trying this which need to be put only once in a three months?

Said so, I have managed to jump up on 34.6 mpg average which it is incredible for the age of this car.
The car never suffered from poor response, although I can surely say that the automatic gear pull has been even smoother and responsive with pedal foot down.
It cleared the fuel system from nastie residual substances which usually led the end pipe to leave a very light grey smoke film on start up.

I highly recommend this bit! I am also about to invest in a new fuel filter and spark plugs to see if I can pull an even better performance 🙂

I have a sports cat on my car. At MOT time the tester has to get the cat red hot so he places a tool on the accelerator and keeps the car at 2000 revs whilst he does the other checks. As soon as the emissions drop to allowable values, its a pass! I used this before my mot and the car was revved a lot less to get it to pass, probably half the time. You cannot say it was this product as I did other things like an oil/plug change. Maybe good maybe no

You can see various reviews. IN my case it seems it helped. My car before cataclean failed NCT emissions test. I used this cleaning solution as recommended (read instructions on bottle) – it is added to the tank when the petrol level is approx at quitter( if I remember correctly) and then you take your car for a “spin”. Passed NCT with flying colours.

A great product to use on your car, I have used cataclean for sometime now every six months especially 2days before the mot is due. I have a nissan X trail 2008, on the emission test the reading was 0.01 , also after using my mpg increases as engine exhaust system is a lot cleaner, a mechanic friend recommended this product to me and I recommend it to you

So I have been using this since I got my car and have had no engine issues, it starts hot and cold with no problems. I got the car with 19,000 miles on the clock and it is now on 65,000 miles.
I always use it before my MOT just to make sure.
