in short this is not a plug play, if you want that don’t bother to read further.
.
.
as i had, if you’re used to the any old creative system ( i had a 4.1 , she was a #beast ), and if you’re expecting the same thunderous base pump from sub then NO, you won’t get it.
.
.
it is a soundbar setup. not a 2.1 or 4.1 or 7.2 in that scenario the tweeters are located away from each other, and the sub(s) is at a different place. that produces a home theatre effect and you get a thunderous base pump from sub(s). with a soundbar everything is sent from a single location and the sub eliminates the low notes that chirps the sound. ideal for small room, #condoLiving
.
.
there is no tuner on the sub. that’s why 4 stars. that means that yourTube videos sound lame. i had to adjust my phone’s equi to maximize the sub’s effect. and now the normal radio is rocking as well. yourTube still lame.
that means the retro winamp into the action.
you need to know what to change and get your ideal setting.
.
.
one of the users mentioned that sub output is routed to the bar, that is true. if you disconnect the sub, you loose the low range.
Awesome value for money! Sounds quality is amazing all wrapped up in a neat package, watching movies, playing games playing music I cannot fault this little bar it’s amazing!
I recently decided my tiny cheap computer speakers were old news and I needed to upgrade but I didn’t want to hurt my wallet. I literally sat on Amazon scrolling through hundreds for days on sound bars and subwoofers. And out of the three I had in my cart I decided on this one even with reading the bad reviews. It arrived a week earlier than the expected date and it was just a plug and go. A lot of people are say it goes into a “sleep mode” when not detecting any audio but I would walk away from my computer for an hour to do something, come back, and I can click play and it plays music or Netflix right away. So I’m not sure why people are saying that. And when I say the sound quality is SUPERIOR, IT’s SUPERIOR! My partner has those fancy Yamaha studio speakers that are hundreds of dollars for audio engineering and he was even surprised when he heard the quality of this sound bar and subwoofer. If anything crazy happens in the coming months I will update this review. But overall I really love this sound bar and I already recommended it to a few of my friends because they loved it too!!!
UPDATE: it has been almost 2 years since I bought this sound bar and subwoofer and I’m STILL loving it!!! No issues at all!!!!
Read some reviews re: Creative Labs soundbar with sub woofer and decided to purchase it.
Excellent sound at the right price. Can’t go wrong for $105.00 CAD.
Creative Labs kinds short changes it’s customers.
1) No AAA batteries for the remote.
2) No Toslink (Optic) cable in the box
3) The RCA to mini RCA is way too short. Cannot be wall mounted with that short cable.
This sound bar is OMFL unreal Banging Baselines
If your a baseline junkie this could be the one for you
I was extremely impressed the neighbours threatened to ring the Police within the hour !!!!!!!!!!!
Sick bass
SERIOUSLY
I like everything about this product with the exception of when I tried to mount it on a wall. The cable to the subwoofer is not inside a recessed area on the back, meaning you end up with the bar not being flush against the wall. I ended up sticking some cardboard behind so it ended up straight instead of drooping.
The designers obviously thought about this as all the inputs are in a recessed area, however this did not extend to one of the power cables. A shame because otherwise it is a five star product.
Fantastic speaker kit. Nice deep bass and multiple ways to connec
I was looking for a sound bar for ages. Then comes across this little beauty. It’s great the price the sound quality. It’s like being in the cinema in your own home
Quality Sound from a little Boom Bar, enhanced by the Bass Subwoofer.
I purchased this as a semi portable setup with a BenQ 4K projector and Amazon 4K fire stick. I’m only using the supplied 3.5mm audio cable at the moment as I can’t get the optical connection to work. However, I think the problem lies with my fairly old optical cable. I have a new one arriving on Friday, so fingers crossed that will fix the problem.
The sound quality is not bad at all. Good base and reasonable mid’ s and top for the price, it will certainly suffice for the job I need it to do. The build quality is surprisingly good apart from the remote, which feels a little light and flimsy, but does the job. However, if your looking for a very reasonably priced sound-bar and sub without having to get an overdraft, you can’t go far wrong with this one.
For the money paid I cannot complain about this soundbar and subwoofer. The sound quality is good and the equipment itself is also of good quality, plus sturdy. Had no issues with it and was very easy to set up.
I really like this sound bar which I have connected to my LG HDMI Smart TV. The bar definitely needs the subwoofer for the high quality sound. The bass is great and it really makes movies and music come to life. Interestingly it isn’t as deep a bass sound as the 2.1 Creative speakers that I have connected to my PC! I also like that the volume can be controlled by the TV remote so I never really use the sound bar’s remote. One annoying / negative point – when I turn on the TV, the sound bar doesn’t always turn on as it appears that the HDMI connection isn’t always detected. So I have to turn the TV off and on again, sometimes a couple of times, for it to work. Other than that, really pleased!
Not the most fabulous unit, but definitely good for the price.
Optical or Bluetooth outputs.
Subwoofer wire is reasonable to have the SW a Metre or so away.
Remote control could do with an update. Chunky and not in sync with the style of the unit, or modern day tech. But it works…
he credtive Booster box is everything you want I love it thank you It just like in the photo the sound is beautiful and very loud
I have tried several budget sound bars whether wired or BT but all have been sub-standard quality-wise, of in the case of BT latency issues. So I decided to up my limited budget to see what would be available and I took a punt on the Creative Stage.
All arrived nicely boxed, and on unpacking I found a 2 well built and sturdy speakers consisting of 1 x sound bar and 1 x sub-bass unit, remote control (no batteries) and a mini-jack cable.
If using for the 1st time it may be advantageous to download the firmware, I’m not sure it added anything, but it’s best to keep devices up to date – the process is simple enough and all instructions are on the Creative website.
Once unpacked and updated I hooked the main sound bar to my TV with an HDMI cable (not supplied), hooked up the sub-bass, plugged in and all worked fine.
There is a slight issue with quiet sections in programs which means the sound drops out, this apparently is normal (and is the case with all sound bars), so you’ll need to balance the input sound to max so that you can control the TV with it’s own remote.
Overall for the price this fits my needs well – one issue that people may need to take into consideration is that the sub-base cable is only 1m long, this is fine for me though.
I have a home cinema setup with soundbar, surround speakers, and a sub. It cost a lot. This isn’t that. What you have here is a perfect budget sound setup, ideal for use with a PC or a low cost TV. It gets loud and has surprisingly good sound for the price. You get a wealth of connections; HDMI (ARC so audio only), optical, 3.5mm audio jack (with cable included in the box), and Bluetooth. The main bar looks good and comes with a couple of screws and slots on the unit ready for wall mounting. The subwoofer ideally needs to be upright but has a small enough footprint that you could easily hide it behind furniture if you don’t want it on display. I bought this to connect to an 11-year old plasma TV that sits in a den and is mainly used for weekend cartoons and retro video game consoles. This soundbar and sub are miles better than the aging speakers built into the TV.
So what are the caveats? First, the soundbar is quite small so stereo separation is limited. No filling a big room. It also has a weirdly short power cable so needs to be located close to a socket. The cable for the subwoofer is long though which is nice. Second, you need to manually switch between inputs. This works fine if your only use is with your TV or PC but in my case I also have a Google Home Mini that connects to the soundbar using Bluetooth. If I tell the Google Assistant to play music I need to first switch the soundbar to Bluetooth or the Google Home will not be able to connect. (In other words, the Bluetooth radio is only active when the input is switched to Bluetooth.) It is a minor niggle for the price of the unit but worth being aware of if you intend to switch a lot.
In summary, what you have here is a great product for the price and in the right circumstances it works very well. Just be aware of possible downsides before you buy.
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to other pc speakers and I am 100% glad I did. The sound bar fits perfectly under my 27″ monitor and the sound quality is perfect for my music or gaming needs. The bass is a reasonable level, I certainly wouldn’t need more (and neither would my neighbors!) The remote is a good addition, I only control it with this but the buttons on the bar are easily accessible.
The sound that comes out of this setup is awesome, replaced some logitech speakers with this soundbar and the sound quality is on another level, I have it on an optical lead with the PC, it also plays usb instantly as well. You will need to buy an optical lead as it only has a 3mm speaker wire in the box. Amazing quality really impressed and the soundbar looks great too
I needed to get a sound bar for a new LG TV that I bought, as I was unable to plug in my old speakers due to a lack of head phone socket. This one caught my eye as it had good reviews and the actual sound bar is not too long, plus the sub can be placed on it’s side, as I wanted to place it on the bottom shelf of my TV stand.
The sound is great. It’s very loud, so I only need to have it on about 12, plus with the treble turned up to max on the music setting it sounds very clear. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5, is because the HDMI Arc does not work with my new TV. but this is not a major problem as the remote for the speakers is fine.
I bought this only due to my dog chewing up my dgtec remote. This remote was identical so thought I’ll get it see if it works on my dgtec. I’d bought the bomaker before this and was totally disappointed with the sound due to my old system. So bought this and wow. Outstanding! Sure it’s just a replacement of the dgtec fs18s. For the money u won’t be disappointed. Its better than ones costing 100s more. Ye right, no seriously! If u want a cheap set up that u won’t be disappointed with, get this. Use the hdmi over optical. Its a much better sound. It may be a wired sub but personally I prefer that as its not taking up 2 plug sockets and no risk of interference from other devices.
Having bought a new TV, my Bose speakers were not compatible so I needed an alternative. I did not want to spend a fortune, and the Creative Stage had excellent reviews, so I took a chance.
Wow!, I was blown away with the sound quality. It may not have the range of settings some of the premium brands may have, but this is perfect for my needs. It offers superb value for money and if you need a soundboard for your TV you will not go far wrong with this.
Sounds amazing and looks neat.
Only gripe is you need to ensure the audio source (such as PC) has the volume turned to max and you use the soundbars’ remote to adjust, otherwise it auto mutes quiet noises.
This is my first “soundbar” speaker, bought more on shape and size than anything else. I’m a musician and normally listen to things on headphones or a decent pair of speakers. Something like this is never going to compete on sound quality, but there is no room on my desk for proper speakers and when I’m working I’m not listening that closely.
The sound is fine for what it is *but* the bar is very directional. Tilting it upwards towards my ears made (unsurprisingly) a big difference. The sound is nice and clear, though it lacks punch and snap. Someone described the woofer as being “flabby” and I think that’s a fair description. To put this in perspective though: my previous attempt to put (reasonably) good speakers in less than ideal positions sounded worse than this.
Features wise I’ve only used the direct aux in so can’t comment, but assuming optical, BT and USB work they’re nice to have. A minor niggle is the aux cable (3.5mm jack) is quite short. Fine if you have your PC on the floor directly under the desk, but no good if you’re at a standing desk.
All in all I’m pretty happy. I’d have given 3.5 stars for sound and value if I could.
Functionality: Lots of input options, aux, bluetooth, optical, HDMI, USB, etc. At 55cm wide, the primary use case seems to be to sit on a desk under a monitor. You could pair it with a television, but its narrow size would eliminate any stereo separation. The speakers face directly forwards and there are no fancy surround sound emulating tricks. The soundbar is just 2.0 with a subwoofer, the subwoofer is not presented as a separate third channel.
The soundbar can be wall mounted easily (the included “wall mount kit” is just a pair of screws and rawl plugs). It can also sit on a flat surface, but it’s very light and tends to get pushed around easily once you have some input cables going into the back of it. There are no mounting options for the sub, you’ll just have to tuck it anywhere it fits (but it’s quite narrow so it’s fairly easy to find a space for it).
Sound quality: Meh. If you like it loud and bassy, then the Creative Stage performs well. You can crank the volume up to max and suffer no distortion.
However, the Stage does not perform well at lower volumes — and if you have it right in front of you under your monitor you probably want a lower volume. At lower volumes, the subwoofer becomes a bit overwhelming, and the soundbar itself has a poor mid-balance and sounds very boxy. The steps in volume levels are very coarse so it’s hard to dial in a volume that isn’t too loud or too quiet.
Conclusion: If you are looking for big volume on a budget, this is excellent bang for your buck.
For the money this is excellent – better sound than from my Sonos One at a fraction of the price. Docked one star only because of the annoying/distracting status display in the centre of the soundbar. Ideal for my PC.
I love it. It has a really nice deep bass and fitted perfect under my monitor. I use it watch movies too, really worth the money.
I’m so glad I purchased this as I use it more than I should during the day.
The quality is fantastic for the price and as others have mentioned a tad booming from the sub. I sorted it by lying it on its side in the TV unit and basically putting my Panda screen cleaner on the speaker.
I can’t recommend this enough
Very capable for the size and the price on black Friday deal. Suitable for a smaller sized room. May buy another for the kids room!
This is the last speaker set I buy because it it so perfect. So easy to set up and install. Then there is the sound quality which was never in doubt from this firm – as they make some cracking disco speakers. Have never had the speakers on full volume. A good thin about these speakers is they automatically set the level you need for your machine which is great. With the choice of 4 sound settings for ( music, cinema, concert, gaming) you get the best sound always. The main soundbar itself fits neatly under my monitor – and connects seamlessly to my computer so all in all worth every penny.
The sound is tremendous. We have a 49″ curved Samsung TV and I thought the sound was decent. Anyhow I decided to treat myself to a sound bar and I was shocked just how much better the sound is. Fantastic buy.
I just received my unit today and am having an issue (that a few others have reported here) on my new Win 10 Pro gaming rig. I’m using the aux connection and the audio will shut off randomly even while active content is playing such as streaming a video or movie. This is beyond annoying and I cannot believe this is intentional design. I NEVER want the unit to decide when it can drop audio input based on some algorithm of signal intensity. Who would want that?
I have done the firmware update for the Creative Stage 2.1 (twice) and it has not fixed the issue. The only thing that helps at all is to raise the volume level (usually higher than I want to).
This is unacceptable, especially when I am pleased with the unit otherwise. Has anyone overcome this issue?
Does the newer v2 unit still have this issue?
******** (Updated) 12/13/20 after about 3 weeks
I’m updating my rating from 1 star to 4 stars after finding a way to prevent the sound from cutting out. By setting my PC volume to 100% and reducing the soundbar volume to 3 to 10 (based on desired volume levels) I have not had any issues with sound in a couple of weeks. I’m also now able to reduce the volume on my PC controls down as low as 50% without any disruption in the sound.
The unit overall sound quality is very good for a budget priced unit and the bass is excellent. I love that the soundbar fits under my monitor and I’m satisfied with the purchase at this point.
For the price this sound bar with sub-woofer is an excellent product as an alternative to a home-cinema system. The sub-woofer provides a decent rich deep bass whilst the sound bar delivers a clear crisp trebble. Each can be increased / decreased to suit individual preferences which is a feature not always offered by more expensive products.
If your looking for a sound bar that is small enough to go under your monitor, have powerful bass and sound better than a free sandwich then look no further! This sound bar replaces my LG PK5 portable speaker that i was using temporarily and i was worried that this wouldn’t sound as good and boy was i blown off my feet with this, it sounds better and has a powerful punch of bass to go with it. for the price you have got to be mad not to buy it. Build quality is amazing and is nice and weighty. Only thing i don’t like is the display but i just cover it up with a sticker or stress ball.
Amazing Purchase!
Hard to beat for the price. Nice, Bassy sound, more than enough volume, it’s nice looking too.
Connectivity is good too, HDMI, Aux, Optical and Bluetooth all present and correct, it’s a bargai
Really pleased with these. I went for these as they were cheap and I have had Creative PC speakers before which were excellent.
The unit sounds excellent, certainly a million times better than the built in TV speakers. The sub can be a bit much on standard settings, but you can adjust the levels with the remote to get it to your liking.
I have it connected via HDMI to the ARC socket on the TV which disables the TV speakers and allows the TV remote to control the volume on the soundbar. Very straightforward. Just make sure you have an up to date HDMI lead. It doesn’t come with one, so I used an old one lying around which wasn’t ARC compatible, so had a to buy another.
Negatives? The volume steps are in quite big increments, so it is sometimes difficult to get the level exactly right. It should really come with a HDMI lead.
Overall, very pleased.
Excellent Soundbar, Superb sound from PC the entire room feels the bass, highly recommended
This is an excellent bit of kit for the cash. Honestly, it sounds very good, not entirely on a par with my full-size LG bar and boomer, but this fits perfectly under my UW LG monitor.
It has made a huge difference as I previously had some Creative 2.1 speakers, which are also fantastic but since working from home my desk space it now at a premium and they kept getting knocked off the table or knocked over, stuck behind one of my three monitors etc.
I have put this on an old monitor stand sitting under my primary UW monitor, and I am really very happy, and the boomer is relatively tall but quite narrow. It fits perfectly under my desk to one side, it is not in the way whereas my other one, though shorter was chunkier so stuck out more and the boomer makes the sound much deeper without being too thumpy, buzzy or muffled.
It has all the inputs I need too; my PC is hooked to it via BT and cable in my laptop dock with Aux, so all connected, which is pretty good for me and there is still optical, which I could stick through my PC and use BT for something else when I can be bothered with it.
My only ‘complaint’ the led in the middle of the speaker, does not turn off nor dim down to near zero, and I would prefer it if I could have the light off unless actually doing something with the remote. I had read about this previously in some reviews but thought I would give it a whirl anyway, and figure I can just put a black dot sticker over it if it annoys that much, as long as it sounds good, which it does.
Other than that, brill bit of kit for the cash, well worth it, big bar sound, almost, with clear output, for compact money.
This was bought for our static caravan wide screen tv, price, value for money outstanding!
We don’t know how we ever lived without it! Great sound and great value for money! We are very happy with our purchase.
Brilliant piece of kit, absolute bargain. Bags of power, plenty of bass from the sub, and good tone from the soundbar itself. Well impressed
Bought after hearing the difference a soundbar and woofer can make but didn’t want to spend a fortune!
This fits the bill perfectly for us…. happy with the choice we made.
I ordered these after reading positive reviews, then as it was out to order I was second guessing myself, wondering if this system would be punchy enough for a new TV setup.
I was really surprised just how good these speakers are for the money. I’ve only ever bought Creative speakers, and still had my existing ones from over 5 years ago. Can’t see myself needing to buy speakers for at least another 5!
A small soundbar with a great sound, I bought this for my playroom and I am not disappointed, it was easy to install and neat looking. The Woofer was quite narrow so fitted easily down the side of the furniture out of sight.
the sound quality is amazing for something that cost so little, I would have no hesitation in recommending this soundbar.
great value for money. I have mine connected to my pc and tv and also use it to play music from my phone.
Pairing is quick and simple and sound quality is excellent.
Welll…..I’m loving my creative stage 2.1.
It’s clear sound and loudness is 100% plus the bass is litty meaning BOOM 🙂
My hearing is not what it was and this sound bar provides a better experience than the TV alone.
I purchased this system to sit in a mixing studio alongside two pairs of professional studio monitors (speakers), with the purpose being to use it to check mixes on a domestic system.
I did quite a bit of research and had a set criteria. Mains powered but with one Power plug, independent left and right speakers, good bass handling, Jack and Wireless connectivity, small footprint. The Creative Stage was the only set that met that specific criteria and I went through everything from Apple HomePods to the Logitech G560, the Edifier R1280DB etc etc. They all failed the criteria for one reason or another.
Although the Creative Stage did not have independent left and right speaker units, it did have independent left and right speakers within one unit and therefore met the criteria. Being the cheapest option I looked at, I did not expect it to be great, however I thought there was no harm to try it, based on the cost. the criteria it met and the plethora of good reviews I found, plus I could always return it if it was awful.
On turning it on, all I can say is Wow. Now, don’t get me wrong, it does not provide the clinical and exacting listening experience of the studio’s monitors, as it is definitely voiced to be more pleasing to listen to, however in that role, it sounds absolutely fantastic. It fills the mixing room with sound, the separate left and right mid frequency speakers provide a good sound scape with plenty of detail separation. You also get good tight sounding bass that provides solid punch and weight.
This would be worth every penny if it was 500 pounds, but it isn’t, it is 80. I am thinking of buying another one as a spare, before someone wakes up and prices this properly!
Looks good, sounds great, I can only hope it will stay like this for long. So far so good – money well spent.
I originally ordered the Philips dolby atmos soundbar which was good for 300 but had lipsync issues, so for 79 and hours looking on YouTube I took the plunge.
Sound quality is as good or better than the bose solo 5 that I had previously, the subwoofer gives it the depth and punch that’s required without any distortion.
Build quality is good for the money, subwoofer is a basic vinyl covered box with cheap looking basic speaker cable, nothing fancy or expensive about it but it’s not being moved so no issues.
Led display isn’t to distracting, controls on the side of the unit are a nice touch just incase the remote breaks as its very basic.
Overall for 79 and a reputable brand you can’t go wrong.
eceived on time, east to attach to TV and the sound and price was excellent. willtell my friends.
For the price, outstanding quality, sound wise and build. Worth looking at . Compact size and a good array of connectors. Fits nicely in front of my 42inch Panasonic with bottom screen blocking.
Good value for money, has a good bass and treble and having controls on the remote makes it vwry easy to switch between inputs and equalizers
Good sound bar and sub, built to a budget but can’t go wrong at this price. I find the speech slightly muffled, but music and gaming good and I’m only using the Aux port so HDMI and Optical ports might offer improvements.
The remote is cheap and flimsy and you don’t get any batteries but again these are very small points given the price point.
Pleased with this purchase!
I’m not an audiophile or anything, but this setup does the job.
This replaced my aging Logitech S220 setup which I used a splitter to connect both my macbook and gaming PC to. It wasnt an ideal setup.. and sound quality suffered if both systems were running.
Decided to look into soundbars ,and luckily this fit the bill ($79.99 when purchased, and price immediately shot up to $89.99 afterwards. lol).
I have my macbook connected via 3.5mm aux and my gaming PC using the optical input; with the use of the remote, I can quickly choose either input.
So far so good and I hope this thing lasts.
NOTE:
This speaker appears to have an energy saving mode. Where if the input volume that is connected to is low enough, the speaker will go into stand-by/sleep mode, until you start raising the volume, then the speaker will kick back on.. I noticed this when listening to music on my macbook. I had the volume on the mac on the lowest setting, and the speaker volume to 15 out of 35. And that moment of pause and silence when it goes to the next track, thats when the speaker goes into energy saving mode.
I don’t think theres a way to specifically disable this in the speaker itself.. but I just increased the mac volume one setting up and lowered the speaker to 10 out of 35. Same same.. No biggie.
It just threw me off guard, thinking the speaker was broken.
So, hope you guys don’t get surprised if that happens to you.
eplaced the sound bar on my telivision, very clear sound. very good quality for the price.
Absolutely does what it says the sound quality is excelle
I got it for my Hisense TV and it worked fine with the digital optical connection. I like the fact this system has a variety of connection options — Digital optical, HDMI (ARC), Bluetooth, and analogue. Some other reviewer complained that the system automatically goes to sleep when there is no signal. Well, mine doesn’t do that. You have to put it on standby manually (with the remote) when you’re done. Maybe they updated the firmware?
As for the sound, I’m not an expert on TV sound systems but this does the job for me. It is much better than the sound of my Hisense TV. The voice sounds come through clearly and the subwoofer ensures you have more than enough bass for the sound effects. The remote control also has separate treble and bass controls to enable you to increase the treble and bass separately when needed.
The only con for me is that the subwoofer was larger than I expected. I would have preferred something a little bit more compact. The subwoofer has to be connected to the soundbar with a cable (unlike some others that use a wireless Bluetooth connection). But I’ve heard of sync issues with some of the Bluetooth connected subwoofers, so a wired connection may actually be more functional in this case. Sometimes the simple things just do the job as expected while more complex tech with all the bells and whistles introduce new issues. Another positive of a wired connection is that the subwoofer does not need its own powers supply. The cable provided is long enough to enable you to place the subwoofer some distance away from your TV if needed.
A very well made product which feels right. Great sound quality for most uses. Could do with a few more functions to use as a soundbar on a TV. Enhanced speech function would be good, also an On/Off function using optical would save power.
Top quality bass and I would recommend this if you listen to and watch a lot of music.
All seems good apart from the one thing that immediately became apparent: The Sub Jack protrudes beyond the mounting lugs on the speaker itself for some idiotic reason! (See image.)
Great sound for your pound! (Cheesy sorry) This adds great depth to bland tv speakers. Really huge bass!!
Fantastic soundbar, it works great for games and movies, really gives my TV sound punch. Good for a small to medium apartment’s living room. As a pc soundbar this would be an image setup for a gaming/office space. Best value soundbar for money as it’s from Creative rather than a cheap brand.
This is a very compact little unit. Quite nice build quality & to be fair has a considerable amount of power & pretty impressive bass. I don’t really know how people can moan about this item, for the money it is a great piece of kit. It has all the connectivity options of sound bars 3 times the price. I fitted mine in my Gazebar as the Tv in there has awful sound quality. The system works well on optical & I use the Bluetooth feature to boost the audio from my amazon echo. It is also a very convenient size, compact & feels solid.
I do really like the fact that the Bass & Treble are both easily adjustable via the remote. Again this is a feature missing on some way more expensive units. Whats not to like ? A well made, decent sounding unit with a stack of connection options for the price of a small decent portable speaker.
I have always been the kind of person to thoroughly research every product I buy (I blame my father’s obsession with Wh1ch? Magazine) and I spent a good, month looking at the right soundbar for me.
To put things in perspective, our main room TV has a very expensive sound system (for what it is) and I needed a soundbar for my tv at the other end of the room that I use to game on.
The big issue for me was the available size on the TV stand (it’s an LG with a curved stand so I only had 70cm to play with)
As I have a Creative D200 up in my office I thought I’d see if they made a soundbar, they do and the reviews on YouTube were outstanding.
To couple with the reviews, the soundbar is only 55cm wide so fits perfectly in the space available.
ORDERED!
It arrived yesterday (order an optic cable at the same time as it doesn’t come with one) and to say I’m impressed is an understatement.
Set up is easy, product design is clean, modern and unobtrusive and the sound….. Oh the sound.
Don’t get me wrong this won’t rival a 1000 7.1 system but it matches the main TV soundbar which cost 9 times as much.
Blu tooth connectivity to my Fiio M11 and Samsung Note9 was simple and the sound from a Spotify stream was clean and crisp, increase the bass and fiddle with the treble and its a great little speaker for music too.
I always test any new stereo kit with System of a Down’s Chop Suey as it covers most musical bases and it knocked it out of the park.
As I write this I’m sat with a huge grin on my face, not only is this a fantastic piece of kit but it cost less than 80, (85.99 including the optic cable) and was delivered the next day.
If you are looking for a small, unobtrusive sound bar then honestly, look no further.
It’s astonishing.
Hii thanks for nice product it’s really nice sound and nice bass good quality thanks
Sub is amazing very well made and lightweight too if you decide to use outside for bbqs and entertainme
THE SOUND QUALITY IS PERFECT and very loud. The bass is so smooth. I knew this soundbar wont disappoint while purchasing it.
Great for price. And the sound is pretty good to be fair. Very satisfied.
Good sound with deep bass from the included sub woofer and rich sound from the bar. Happy with my purchase.
Bought this for the kids bedroom and their new gaming set up. Hooked up via the SPDIF input from the back of an Xbox One X. They also connect to it via Bluetooth with their tablets and play music through it. Sounds awesome, very happy with it. You can adjust the bass and treble settings to lower the thumping sound in the evenings or simply unplug the Sub. Creative make some good audio equipment at a reasonable price, recommended.
For the price a good buy, connected via optical lead and gives a good crisp sound with punchy bass – although in fairness I have it in a fairly small room. Really annoyed at no batteries being included for the remote though, I thought that nonsense stopped in about 1995.
I was in two minds about buying this or a more expensive kit but after reading the reviews I decided to go for this one. The sound from the sound bar is very crisp and has a real depth to it and the subwoofer (its slightly bigger than I imagined) adds an incredible amount of bass… you could move furniture with this bad boy. Honestly if you’re thinking about splashing out on a 200-300 sound system I’d recommend buying this instead, it’s well worth the money and you won’t be disappointed. My only gripe is that I can turn it off with the TV remote via ARC Hdmi but I can’t turn it on in the same way, also the remote supplied doesn’t come with batteries. It still deserves 5 stars!
Wow! For how small this thing is, it sure packs a punch! We needed to replace an old school surround sound speaker system but didn’t have a lot of space to work with. We have an older, bigger, sound bar in the living room and not only is it the whole length of the TV, it’s not mountable and I decided that was definitely a feature I needed along with aux availability, optical input, and Bluetooth.
This little guy is perfect. It mounted easily under the TV with space to spare and the sub is slim enough to fit next to the dresser without being in the way.
We originally just needed something with more depth in the sound to watch TV and movies in the bedroom. The TV itself is blah when it comes to sound and the old surround was impossible to adjust correctly for every different show. I haven’t messed with the EQ much at all on this bar and you can hear every word without blowing your ears out with the background noises.
The biggest surprise was how well it carried. We had it connected via Bluetooth playing music upstairs. Throughout the whole house, you could feel the bass and hear the music CLEAR. Not everything vibrating or the distortion you get when you turn the volume up too loud…it sounded amazing.
Honestly, I never expected so much out of this cheap little bar. Easy to mount, great clean sound, and affordable. Highly recommended!
Wow, for the price you get such a quality sound!
I love bassy sound systems and this one packs a punch!
I will be recommending this to people searching for a decently priced system.
Definitely buy one!
Only problem I’ve found is you can’t connect your sky remote to the system for turning up and down the volume but it’s not a bad thing.
Seemed hard to set up at first but that was my silly laptop playing up. The product is excellent given the price. I can find no flaws. I’m buying one for my family members.
This was the third sound bar I tried and the first that gave adequate bass response. My only criticism is that the bass woofer is wired to the sound bar rather than Bluetooth. I connected it via an optical cable (shame it was not included) and via the analogue jack. The quality was slightly better via optical but does need the separate remote to control volume with my TV. I have not yet tried other devices via Bluetooth.
I bought this sound bar January 2019, so I’ve had it for over a year now. I have only connected it using optical cable to my PC. I was blown away by the range of sound and clarity at all ranges.
I originally wanted a cheap and sleek sound option (Sound bar is under my center monitor elevated slightly by a small black box, see picture). When I bought this there were very few reviews on it anywhere. I took a gamble and bought it. When I got the speaker all of my expectations were exceeded, even a year later.
I would not say it could replace a professional sound monitor, however, it comes close especially at such a good price. Highly recommended for music, videos, movies, and gaming.
There are a few minor cons I have to note:
-First, after I got the sound bar connected with optical cable I found going from moments of silence to sound, the speakers would kick in delayed (resulting in hearing the last part of dings and chimes or the first part of a word in a sentence being cut off. I was able to fix this issue simply by lowering the volume on the bar and keeping my PC volume over 75%. A minor issue that was fixed, however, it was a little annoying to figure out.
-The biggest con is the LED light in the front. The light on the model I have is always on (this might have been changed in the newer models judging by the pictures on amazon). The display light should turn off after a set amount of time… I’m not sure why they felt the need for it to stay on.
It’s a little bit too bassy, but other than that the sound is fantastic.
Great speaker. The bass/treble control could be better. It could have a greater range.
I was disappointed that I had to go out to buy a HDMI lead as it was not supplied. However once that was sorted, the connection was simple and the sound on my tv greatly improved. I now love the tone and so pleased that the bass and treble can be adjusted.
It looks good too. All round a great purchase.
I’ll preface this by admitting I’m by no means an audiophile!
PRO:
The quality of the sound is great, and it handles higher volumes well; I’d say it’s overkill for most PC users, but I’m not going to judge. It also has great bass, stuff on my desk was starting to move around.
CON:
As another reviewer mentioned, stereo separation is lacking. I guess that makes sense, since the entire unit is 22″ long, whereas my other soundbar with much better separation is 36″. Separation has never been an issue for me before, but this is also the smallest soundbar I’ve ever used. The sound reminds me of an Amazon Echo, with more bass. It’s also possible that my distance from the unit (12-18″) hampers the separation.
Another pitfall of using it with a PC, is that the volume control isn’t very user friendly: you have to reach to the side where you can’t see and feel around for the middle or bottom button. There’s also a remote, but that seems silly when the unit is already within arm’s reach. I’d much prefer volume controls to be on top of the unit so they’re easier to manipulate.
Brilliant for the money. More than enough power for the average lounge. Loads of bass. Works perfectly with my TV using ARC and HDMI-CEC. Highly recommended. Sounds better than most units 3 or 4 times the price.
The build quality is surprisingly good at this price point. The size of the unit is also very convenient and relatively unobtrusive. The Bluetooth is good and clear, but depending on the device the range can be a little disappointing. Sound wise, I am delighted at the quality of audio this speaker system produces. The bass is clear and powerful (for such a compact sub) and it can get very loud! For a smaller front room, this is an excellent option!
Great, impressive. Much better sound than standard Panasonic tv. Improvement in voice quality is massive. Bass sound for effects is also good.
Would be better if it turn off with the television not easy to remember.
I would still like to recommend it, a vast improvement on standard TV sound.
The bar is very decent compared to the other soundbar in this price bracket. The bass is impressive and, although not very loud,it is with a good sound and versatile options-music,cinema,sports,games…treble in addition to bass…not bad. Overall, a I’m happy with this purchase.
Wow this is a great addition to my pc. The sound quality is amazing and there’s hardly any cables, compared to a normal pc sound system. A great purchase. Creative never lets you down.
Good sound bar but at very high volume sound is abit distorted
Excellent value for money, but like others have stated, a little bit too heavy on the bass for me, not a lot of treble adjustment. purchased to use while i had a look at a more expensive sound bar that was playing up. would say it is more suited for computer use where you are sitting close too it as the stereo separation is hardly noticeable from any distance. plenty of volume and would fill a good sized room with no problem. for the price you couldn’t do any better, and will now use it to replace a small pair of speakers on the computer.
Just got mine to day wow the sound is crisp with a deep bass, just what i was looking for. Hooked it up to my pc via the optical cable i purchased with it and i an not disappointed 10/10
Absolutely brilliant system. A massive upgrade from my television sound. Compact and powerful. For the money … this sound can not be beat.
For around 80, there is nothing to touch the Creative Stage 2.1, it brings a realism to gaming that built-in TV/PC speakers can only dream about, with Creative’s Subwoofer delivering plenty of really deep bass notes. So, why have I only given 4/5 stars? Well, I had to purchase an aftermarket Toslink connector to connect it from the sound bar to my TV (the 3 HDMI sockets on the TV already being taken up by the PlayStation, Xbox and Sky box) and considering how cheap these are (a few quid), it is a bit annoying to find out once you open the box, the only connector supplied is a 3.5mm stereo to stereo connector. This is very annoying and stalls the system set-up (unless, of course, you already have a Toslink connector to hand). Apart from this, the sound bar and sub come highly recommended.
Quite pleased with this. Nice product and very easy to set up
Bass a bit boomy but that might be the woofer location.
Looking for a small 2.1 for my truck and decided on this Creative Stage. Quick delivery and well packaged with no damage.
Used it just for the iPhone first and it gives a punch great power with no problems even when pushing the base up full.
Sub woofer offers great addition to what is already coming out from the sound bar, Trance and Rock music it can take it.
Just used the 2.1 with laptop using a DAC watching Pacific Rim using the Aux input and it’s a small package with an awesome sound all round.
BT works great and Aux is perfect, will use the USB input later, all round a great small 2.1 with loads of power, glad I chose it.
Using this for video editing and gaming. Really impressed for the money, provides a good sound and the sub does its job to pump some bass. No issues other than the aux cable is too short and the remote is cheaply made. Overall it’s very good value for money.
Amazing…. it works perfectly with My new Hisense TV 43″.
Very good Quality price
It’s perfect,
I didn’t really expect it the quality of the subwoofer very good boom .
So the time came when I’d had enough of surround speakers, trailing wires and huge sub-woofers (I know, I know… but I’m trying to simplify everything at the moment!) I have always bought Creative sound gear for my computers and have never been disappointed, so I thought I’d go for this in the TV unit in the sitting room. It boosts the audio from my movies and TV with the usual crystal clear Creative quality and fills my medium sized room with enough movie FX for me to be very happy. My only small gripe is the music production from this is not perfect as it is too bass heavy, even on the lowest settings. A compromise I’m willing to make because of the compact size and price.
Creative yet again deliveres a solid product which is excellent in every department.
Connected this to my new smart TV via optical connection. It improved the sound hugely, especially for movies and online viewing. Decent quality sound for a relatively cheap soundbar.
Amazing sound. Brilliant bass (with the sub plugged in) I was very suprised how much effect the sub has. It can get uncomfortably loud with minimal distortion. Being able to connect to Bluetooth is a really nice bonus. And all that considering the price is a steal.
Overall this is an excellent sound bar and sub
