My wife and I love this product. It heats up the whole apartment (40 m2) on the medium setting despite outdoor temperatures close to 0degrees.
This item didn’t work when I received it. When I opened the box, I laid it on it’s side. Pretty sure this triggered the auto cut off. Luckily there is a very helpful video on YouTube showing how to set it which involves unscrewing the side panel! Why they didn’t make this accessible without having to resort to screwdrivers, God only knows. I wonder how many have been sent back because they don’t appear to work.
2nd one I’ve purchased. Great quality, safe, easy to use, good heating and looks stylish too. I wouldn’t risk a cheaper unknown brand knowing how bad things could be if it overheated or leaked.
Like many people I’ve been working from home for the last few months, and whilst the utility room I set my desk up in was fine in the summer, it became absolutely freezing in the winter. I’d been using a fan heater but it was expensive to run, and more than anything it was noisy, and as I run training courses the constant background noise was a problem.
This radiator is an absolute cracker. It arrives fully assembled, so you don’t have to attach wheels or anything – just take it out of the box, unfold the wheels (they’re hinged and tucked away underneath the unit), plug it in and away you go. It isn’t too heavy – about 10 kilos – and is easy to move around thanks to the wheels. As with all heaters there’s an initial “new” smell, but this burns off after a while – a label attached to the flex near the plug tells you to turn it to the highest power and leave it on for at least two hours in a ventilated room and the smell will go away. In terms of controls it’s simple – the top dial is a thermostat, the second one is a power setting (off, low, medium, high), and below this is a rotary 24hr timer, so you can leave it plugged in all the time if you want and it will come on and turn off when you want it to. The timer can be overridden thanks to a three state switch in the middle of the dial (on, off, timer). In use the majority of the heat comes from the top of the unit, so if you place it under a desk it will be really warm around your legs and feet, but the whole thing gets hot. It also seems cheap to run too – my smart meter remains in the green section while it is running. Also there is absolutely no noise from the radiator at all, but as with “normal” central heating radiators when the unit has been on for a while and you turn it off it does make some click or low clang noises as it cools.
In case it helps, the room I use the radiator in is a concrete floored utility room at the side of the house, with no other heating (OK, there’s a tiny radiator about the size of an A4 pad at one end), a non-insulated flat roof, and has double glazed windows at either end. The size of the room is approx 14 square metres, with a ceiling height of about 2.5 metres at the highest and 2 metres at the lowest side. If I have the radiator in the middle of the room, on the highest temperature and the highest power, and the doors of the room closed, when I step in the heat hits you. Having the thermostat on about three quarters of the way round and the radiator on medium power is absolutely ideal for the room and makes it comfortable to work in all day.
Use mainly in my bedroom as the only heat source, yet to turn on central heating. It is heavy at 15kg to carry up and down stairs, but can be moved around when in situ using the fold out wheels, albeit a little awkwardly.
I have the timer set to come on at the lowest setting(one bar equivalent) for half an hour before the time I go to bed. This is enough to warm up the bedroom and carry on radiating heat after it turns off for a little while. If I am later going to bed, I generally override the timer with the rather small and slightly awkward to set slider switch and manually turn on 1 to 3 bars. The unit takes a short while to start pumping out heat as presumably it has to heat up the oil first before it starts to radiate. Overall it suits my bedroom, and you can set the timer to go on and off several times during the day, although it is mechanical rather than digital.
No complaints at all. Timer is easy to programme and works efficiently. Can’t rate energy efficiency as I don’t know. Might know more after I receive an energy bill!
Excellent heater that actually heats up a conservatory. It has made working from home much warmer! I’m not sure how energy efficient it is though.
I use this product in my unheated conservatory to keep my semi tropical plants from being frosted but it is also good for heating the conservatory when the weather is cool making it a pleasant place to si
Excellent heater. I’ve had a year now no problems. Not used timer is why I haven’t left star rating. Slight clicking when it’s heating up but not noisy at all.
Very happy with
This radiator was extremely efficient. I was without heating for 4 weeks waiting for a new boiler to be installed and this radiator warmed the Park Home in which I live very quickly. Would certainly recommend it to anyone.
There was mixed reviews and concerns about damage whilst delivered. Ours came packed well and is definitely does its job in a open kitchen plan with bifold doors.
It keeps the area warm and the radiator stays warm for long too.
Definitely worth the price.
Very happy. Do the job. Great heat output. We have a large and very cold sitting room, and before always struggled to keep the heat in. Not anymore
For several years we have looked at getting a heater for our 4m x 3m conservatory, as my sisters plants have to come in the warm every winter, After much research we found this one. My biggest thing I wanted was it to run on a thermometer so it could be switched on and it would switch on and off at the correct temprature. After a week of try outs, we have decided that the most efficient way to use it, is to leave it on the lowest and it keeps the room at 62 degrees, it worls out between 10 and 20 pence an hour, and obviously when it reaches the temp, it is even cheaper! Tis is and excellent warming heater well worth the money! And, it saves the orchids from being on the dining table during the winter!
Only received yesterday
Looks good, so far working well as Delongi always a big & renowned brand
Timer control with power button function; a bit tricky should have been more simpler , the wheels are too hard to move around, no option to hold from back
that’s why I ll go with 4stars
Perfect for heating my daughters room which does not warm up with the radiator. Room stays warm for a good while when turned off manually or via timer.
No clanging and banging sounds like the previous heater (different make) made when heating and cooling, I ended up sending that straight back.
Yes, you pay a little more for this heater, but it really is worth the expense.
Very happy with this heater, I initially bought a cheaper one which I had to return due to noise and poor output. This one gives out a lot of heat effectively and doesn’t make a single sound.
This is what I needed for this winter lockdown. It’s great product and doesn’t cos much to run.
The product initially has a strong chemical smell but if you follow the included instructions it goes away after an hour or so.
Generates a lot of heat and is about as cost efficient as you can get for an electric heater.
I’ve had a dragon for 16 years They are reliable, sturdy and worth the extra money over and above cheaper models which don’t last so long Highly recommended
bought this for our conservatory, I wasn’t sure it would be good enough to heat it but its brilliant, it kept it nice and cosy for hours and we only needed to have it on low so I’m ore than pleased with i
My gas CH never did a terribly good job in my living room, so I got this as an alternative. Wish I’d got one years ago.
Very quiet, substantial heat output, looks quite nice (as far as reasonably possible). Just sits in the corner of the home office making plenty of lovely quiet heat. Thermostat seems decently sensitive – the odd small click tells me it’s doing its job. For heating one 12ft square room it’s probably much more powerful than necessary. So much nicer than the noisy fan heater with poor thermostat that preceded it.
Read the reviews, and was doubtful. Decided to take a chance. It cost more than the others but I thought: ‘you get what you pay for’. Glad I took that chance. All works well (I haven’t tried the timer yet.) Gives out bags of heat – even heats the walls of my small room, so the heat stays after I’ve turned the heater off. Built solid, looks good, works easy, no problems so far. Wish I’d bought it years ago. Makes going to watch TV in that room a pleasure. Nice warmth on the lowest setting too.
Sturdy functional heater. The design does help send heat up rather than sideways as most. Absolutely quiet on heating and cooling which for me is very important in the bedroom.
Excellent heater, heats ups fast and gives off heat for ages after turning off. Zero noise apart from a few clicks as it heats up.
We bought this a few years ago as we did not have any working heaters in our apt.
This was amazing and Heats up a large dining room very fast. Also easy to wheel around from room to room.
We recently moved home and now have working heaters. We lent this heater out and the people were amazed by its heating efficiency. Definitely recommend.
Easy to use
Minor assembly easy
Very quick to warm up
Looks good
Seems to give more heat than equivalent wattage Delonghi older radiato
No known problems in early days.Appears economical, but, doesnt blast out hea
I bought this item in 2017 it was working perfectly then a few months ago in 2020 I put a lot of wet clothes on it and increased the temperature to maximum. This was Clearly a bad idea but I needed to dry my clothes quickly. After like half an hour the heater stopped working completely and became irresponsive. In an attempt to fix it, I watched a video on YouTube and realised it’s possible to reset the heater and bring it back to life by pressing a simple button inside. I tried this and it miraculously started working again.
This item is defiantly one of the best items I ever purchased very powerful and very well built. I was going to dump it but when I fixed it I thought this heater definitely deserves a good review.
Yes excellent. Good heat. Not too heavy to carry around. Not tried the timer. Shame there’s no light saying it’s on though so just have to make sure you turn it off.
This is a very good heater, although i cant see it heating 60sq metres but it does heat my conservatory 16sq metres.I have it set for 6am on a morning until 10am then back on at 5pm when the sun goes down. The thermostat works well. The heater is quiet and when the thermostat kicks in the heat from the oil takes over through the chimney effect.Recommended.
Had to replace my current one that decided to give up the ghost. To be fair the old one was on permanently on the frost setting so this could be why! That is the reason I went for this one which is the same make but an upgraded model and slightly larger. Love the fact it has a timer on it which means it doesn’t have to stay on all day. I only have it on 1 on the minimum setting and it takes the chill off. Great product would recommend
Tried loads of these kind of things and this is the best we’ve found. Highly recommended.
It’s great with the timer options and heat control setting; easy to wheel between rooms even when hot, with the a cable tidy area etc
One thing to note is it’s tall and chunnky, so pay attention to the dimensions of it if that’s a consideration.
I haven’t used the timer function but the heat output is great. The electric flex is short so it makes the heater difficult to move unless you have a lot of plugs.
Ideal heater to use when working from home avoiding the need to have the central heating especially on sunny days which means it is powered by solar panels & good for the environment
Manual settings are easy to operate as opposed to electronic version feedback.
Neat; portable; easy to function timer; great output of heat. Certainly the best radiator I have purchased. Worth every penny. Would not hesitate to recommend this product.
This a great heater. Good hear output, timer is easy to use. It has a little handle to push/pull around, when it’s hot it’s slightly harder to wheel but not majorly!!
I bought this because we already had one and it is so efficient that I wanted one for another area of the house. We have an open plan area which is a very large space and this heater keeps the area quite warm. We don’t have insulation but we do have double glazing. I don’t like putting the heating on for the whole house all day, it gets too hot but sometimes we just want to heat the rooms we are using. It is easy enough to move around but it stays in place for the winter and put away for the summer. I haven’t used the timer so I can’t comment on that and I don’t know how expensive it is to use. It isn’t on permanently but my husband uses the one in his office a lot and we haven’t noticed a huge increase in our electricity bill. I wouldn’t be without it.
I haven’t used the timer function so can’t comment, but I’m very impressed with the performance of this radiator. I have the old style oil filled but this one the same wattage gives out so much more heat.
Congratulations to who-ever came up with the chimney design and delonghi for the very robust build. Superb for a bit of heat when turning on the boiler is overkill, or for low level heat overnight when it is cold.
I think this oil Hester delivers. It really warms up our lounge in between the central heating timer and makes it very pleasant lounging in th3 afternoon. recommended this item to a family and they purchased it.
I am so pleased with the heater, it looks good, works well, solid and good-finish. This is the third one I have ordered. I would recommend this and consider it a “good value for money”.
Outstanding, puts off a lovely heat rather fast as well. No complaints . I don’t use the timer , just put off and on when the need arises. Highly recommended. I’ve had this brand before and never had any problems . Delivery was fast as well via Amazon.
V heavy. But really great heat out put really pleased! Boiler broken so desp for heat. Only tried this one evening so will update. Not tried timer yet
This heats up really well… too well! I can’t leave it on over night because the thermostat doesn’t seem to work properly even on the lowest setting. I’ve contacted amazon tech support an she appeared to be taking the mickey asking questions I’d already answered and asking things not relevant to the appliance… yellow green and red light?! I’m not impressed. I would buy this from another co not Amazon.
Bought this for conservatory as daughter uses as play area would recommend for small to medium room area
Very effective and efficient heater. Timer is easy to set and works well. Warms up quickly and the different power settings and thermostat make it simple to get the right temperature.
Excellent heat output, only annoying thing is thst the number and markings on the dials are in a brushed steel colour and so is the knob so its quite tricky to see what number you have the dial set to. 10 yr guarantee made sense to buy delonghi dragon 4.
Easy to use straight out of the box. Very controllable and gives plenty of heat. It does take a while to warm up. On first use it is recommended to leave on full for two hours to get rid of any smell but I didn’t find the heater gave off any noticeable smell anyway. Recommended.
Last winter I bought a cheap 2500w heater and when I went to use it again this winter it lasted a few days before it died. I decided to spend a bit more and get this one with the 10-year warranty. It’s worlds better than the cheaper one I previously owned. Puts out so much more heat and the overall build quality is far greater. The only downside I can see is that the knobs are pretty stiff.
It’s been working for only 1h. I can say the following:
1. Looks fantastic.
2. No sharp edges/fins like other radiators. Important for us with 3 small kids.
3. Timer works.
4. Heats up fast.
5. No funny smell when turned on. Nothing burning.
6. No clicking or anything else.
We are in Ireland. An Post lost the parcel, more precisely they delivered it 9 houses up the street, just left it on the porch. I wish ppl would stop using An Post. Only problems when they deliver.
Oil heaters are usually known to be very expensive and unefficient. This little one instead can heat up very BIG ROOMS even if always kept at the minimum power, and it heats up quickly!
I promise you I spent a little money only on my bill even if using it for hours everyday.
It is light and easy to carry around, better than all underfloor heating systems which take too much time and energy to work.
The timer function can be better, not completely precise, but it is intuitive and easy to use.
The building quality is high and I am sure the heater will last a long time.
Thank you, Delonghi! Very nice work.
Very slight smell when first used, soon disappears, silent operation, efficient and excellent for what we required it for. Timer great function and heat out put / variable settings good additional feature. Fins can get very hot so be careful around small children.
The first one that came had a dent in the side,so sent it back,no problem. The replacement arrived pretty soon after.A great heater, very happy with it,good heat output, very easy to manoeuvre
After reading lots of reviews I took the plunge and ordered. This gives incredible heat output. The first time you need to wack on the highest setting and heat for two hours. It’s now early November and pretty cold, I’ve never had to put it on higher than low and I’m using this in place of a large storage heater. I set it to come on for an hour before I get home from work and again for another hour 2 hours later. So impressed with this. Can’t comment on the economy in terms of usage as I’ve only had it a couple of weeks and yet to compare, but surely has to be cheaper then using storage heaters. Highly recommend.
Very well Engineered Heater. Impressive heat output & easy to manoeuvre. The controls are solid & easy to read & use. This Heater comes with a 10 year Manufactures’ Guarantee which should give you piece of mind. More expensive than rivals but you can see the quality in the design & manufacture of this Heater.
Easily moved, generates good heat for size of rooms. Well built. Seems robust. Timer unused so far. Good to have significant warranty
This rad chucks out some serious heat. I replaced a convector heater with this as oil filled radiators give out a more constant heat and boy does this give out some heat. I usually only have it on a medium setting and it heats up quickly and warms the whole room.
Timer is the old fashioned type but is easy to use if you’ve nimble fingers, although we use this through a smart plug so can switch on remotely or via Alexa. Highly recommended
Does as described
Easy to use having a 24hour click,
Thermostat easy to use, numbers hard to see as shiny metal knob with black numbers.
Able to set to high or lower power and has frost setting
Only really negative, is when cooling down it does creak and ends with a final bang! Bit annoying
Have a working replacement now and it’s great gives out allot more heat than the previous oil filled radiator I had which was a cheaper one with 7 thin metal fins. Can easily heat a bigger room unlike my old one which took ages to heat up the room. The larger surface area and design mean it outputs allot of heat vertically up from the radiator.
Initially Bought radiator and the timer didn’t work when I first tried it but Amazon said I had to arrange my own return with no option for them to arrange return. Given size and weight and after allot of shopping around the cheapest I could find was 12.90 to return it but Amazon only refund 4.75 for return delivery so ended up paying 8.15 due to Amazon sending me a faulty radiator.
Edit: after complaining to customer service I got full refund for delivery costs.
Lovely bit of kit, seems pretty efficient and good heat output. I have mine on a smart plug and it comes on an hour before we use the room (cabin used as an office). I only have it on a low setting, it’s more than capable to heat a 2.5 x 4m room.
I Highly recommend this amazing heater. Super easy to use. It is on wheels so very easy to move around. However, if it has to be lifted and carried; ie: steps or stairs etc, it is solidly made and therefore heavy. It does get hot to the touch, as you would expect any radiator to do. It really chucks out the heat, and looks good. Efficient and economical.
eally happy with this product. The quality of build, functions, aesthetics and speed to heat make it the best oil filled radiator I’ve owned. I’m delighted with it and recommend it to anyone looking for a great heating solution.
Small and compact , heat out put is excellent while being echonomical, nice overall finish and does not look out of place in the room, very please with the cost and performance, yes you can buy cheaper but you will not get the same quality 🙂 Delivery service was also excellent and arrived the next day.
Very strong heat. Heats up quickly. Timer dial is reliable. Unfortunately it still has a strange odour when I use it even after 2 months of usage.
We needed a quick heating fix in cold snap as our under floor heating had broken. We already have the “bambino ‘ and loved it. Radiator arrived well packed and ready to go . All you do is flip wheels up and switch on . Haven’t had time to set timer yet but it looks pretty straight forward. Don’t be put off by the slight ” hot oil ” smell which lasts max 2 hours, it soon goes and the radiator is totally odourless and silent . Came down this morning to snow and sub zero temperatures outside but a very warm and cosy kitchen . Its a perfect radiator and couldn’t recommend it highly enough .
For use in our conservatory ,very pleased with it does a good job looks good doesn’t take up much room
This De’Longhi Dragon 4 radiator made a difference in my chilly living room. After a short while, I and my sad cats were happy and warm again! The room is 4m by 6m. We have an old built in radiator in it but it is not powerful enough and will be changed out. I’ll use my De’Longhi elsewhere then, as it is portable.
Spent quite a bit of time researching these. Definitely a very effective heater. Simple to use with easy controls. Couple of pings and cracks as it cools down as some have reported. This is not unexpected and is not worth worrying about. The timer is near silent and has an override function. I might have chosen the more expensive ‘digital’ model but this does the job very well. Looks smart enough and whilst it’s not ‘lightweight’, it’s easy enough to move about. Highly recommend.
Excellent quality, but it has an electric smell when heated that hasn’t gone away after a year, this makes me a bit concerned, but otherwise it has worked fine.
Replaced my old de’longhi with new one but probably this is a completely new model and I think it takes a longer time to warm up.In my opinion you have to give it a little longer to heat the room compared with the old one. However overall pretty satisfied.Additionally had trouble contacting de’longhi direct ‘on-line’ to register item.
first time with a oil filled heater so wanted a good quality one glad I read reviews and spent a bit more and went for this brand it flows out so much heat in our conservatory have to have it turned down low and does not use lots of electricity according to our smart meter.
This is a great heater, able to get medium to large sized rooms up to an uncomfortably warm temperature if you let it.
For putting out a lot of heat, this heater is worth every penny (at ~110).
The only slight issue is that you can smell the volatiles in whatever it’s painted with if you let it get up to full temperature. It gets better after a few days, but you definitely need to burn a nice smelling candle or something if you want to run this heater at maximum.
Originally bought one a few weeks ago after some research and now just bought two more (all thru Amazon). Delivery and packaging; arrived next day…no issues.
Product; Excellent! Yes they are more expensive (these are an excellent price) than the vast numbers on sale but these have a range of control that suits our rooms (haven’t used the timers yet) and sounds daft but the heat is better; more radiant. I guess you get what you pay for.
Very pleased and would highly recommend.
I really wanted this heater for long time and just waiting for good deal. there is no cranking noise when heats up and it is very quick to heats compare to my old heater. it is expensive compare to 40 same power heater but it has 10 years warranty so worth the money. i have one same brand heater in our office using for almost 6 years still great.
Perfect for keeping my three externally walked room toasty! And hadn’t smelt of damp ever since. I followed the instructions and ran it high for a few hours- smelt, and then hasn’t ever since (though not running it very hot).
Mine arrived with a small dent in it, but I’m not going to mark the product down on shoddy handling. Great looking radiator and belts out heat in a previously cold and unloved room. Haven’t quite figured out the timer yet, but it retains heat for a good 20 minutes after being turned off.
I may be lucky, but there is NO TICKING NOISE
Heats up quick. Got back from holiday (where average temperature was 28c) to the aftermath from the beast from the east and our central heating took forever to heat the house up. I cranked this out and the living room was toasty in 20 minutes. I wheeled it into the bedroom after and also had an electric blanket on – it was that cold. Survived the night.
Radiator clicks loudly as it heats up / cools down. This means that relying on the thermostat to regulate its use, causes the radiator to click constantly all evening.
Badly designed.
Update: After using it in earnest for a bit longer, the clicking of the radiator heating up and cooling down has stopped. And once the smell also finally left, its turned into a very reliable little heater.
As a heater works very well, i can’t imagine ever needing full power as it gets the room like a sauna in 20 mins. Unfortunately still have a slight plastic smell even after a month, it has faded a lot and will hopefully go soon.
Excellent and efficient. Would have preferred a temperature dial that would set to a specific temperature rather than more or less. If it had had this I would have given it 5 stars. Amazed at how quickly it can warm up a very cold room
Lovely looking oil heater. Throws out heat & warms up conservatory quickly. Is very quiet. Does smell for first few times you use…I used while window open…but does go away. Very happy with purchase.
I had an old one of these from 1994 which lasted until 2017, it was great. I read loads of reviews about this and many other makes of oil filled radiators when buying a new one, including which reports, and felt every single one on the market had a lot of bad reviews, including this one and it’s newer model. This had the least bad reviews.
When I got it, it was great… for about a week. Then it developed a loud clunking sound whenever it went on or off with the thermostat. Kept me awake at night, however, as i’d already done the research I decided maybe this was a faulty one and called amazon for a replacement within the exchange period. The new one works perfectly and I love it! So that’s what I suggest others do, test it as much as possible when you get it.
This warms my outdoor office beautifully. It took a month for the smell to completely go. It warms really well and quickly. I like the thermostat and the frost function. Haven’t noticed a vast increase in the electricity bill so all good.
I would have loved it, but there is a tiny lever for selecting off/on/timed operation. Also, my partner complains about the smell when it is used a the highest power. I quite like that smell 🙂 Other than that, it is a fantastic item.
Had an older version of the Delonghi Dragon, lasted us over 10 years.
Great radiators can’t go wrong with one of these. Highly recommended.
I’ve had this for 2 months now, it works well heating up a large bedroom in cooler autumn weather. I’ve kept the thermostat on 1-2 which seems to keep the room around 19-20C. Timer is easy to use. However does make some moderate clicking/ popping noises when cycles off/cools down.
Does exactly what I needed it for — steady, controllable background warmth even in a large building which is only occupied now and then (a Scout Hall which is 90sq metres floorspace!) We just set it to wam up before we arrive, and then leave it to get on with the job.
An absolutley wonderful electric heater, glad I went for the more expensive one. No complaints on this score, look forward to years of use. Well made, looks great.
Great litter heater that soon heats up and warms the room in no time at all. Really easy to assemble in seconds. You have to put in on the highest setting when first switched on which emits a strong smell but this disappears the next time it’s used. Nice modern design. Would highly recommend.
Good at warming up a small space quickly, open plan not so much unless you’re willing to wait a while. Well built, good slim design, probably not expensive to run. The shiny dial makes it difficult to read the numbers and I wish the timer was easier to use but, overall, a good product with all the safety and anti-frost settings I wanted.
Genuinely brilliant. Heats up our large, drafts, poorly insulated loft conversion really well, has transformed the room making it livable. Heats up quickly and the thermostat works really well to maintain a constant temperature. Timer works brilliantly too. Absolutely completely silent, we are sleeping in the same room as it and it does the job perfectly without making a sound, and we don’t have to worry about the children as the outside guard stops it from getting too hot to touch.
This is an outstanding radiator – it regulates the heat much better than our old central heating. Makes some light popping/clicking as it heats up or cools down but not loud enough to wake us, …
A very good radiator.
Small footprint – 12″x6″ (ish) with fold out wheels (included in the 6″). It has a built in timer, a thermostat switch and a power level.
So far this autumn, I’ve used it on its lowest setting and it has taken the chill off my small study.
I did work it at full tilt (as per instructions) when I first got it and it got very hot indeed.
It’s very well made – having a real quality look and feel.
The flex is relatively short – maybe just over a metre long, but I guess that’s linked to health and safety?
All in all, a recommended buy.
Silent and really easy to operate. Our previous Dragon heater had an electronic display and I was worried that this would not be as good. In fact this is much easier- the previous electronic display was small and hard to read in our bedroom wheras the mechanical pins are really easy to see and move in and out to set the time. We use it in our old house to take the chill off the room at night so we don’t have to heat the entire house.
4 stars because it is NOT silent & “ticks” a lot when warming up. Then when it turns itself off, via the timer, it emits a very loud click. This wouldn’t matter during the day, but I use it at night & it wakes me up at 5am. The new smell took some days to disappear too. Otherwise it is a very good heater, the thermostat works well, and it puts out an amazing amount of heat. Within a very short time the room is warmed up & the thermostat switches it off, so it’s not on for long periods. I guess I’ll have to get used to the noise.
we had item for a while now, we love it heats up at a good speed once it heated up we tend to use on lowest setting, we not put on our gas once so far(we only in 1 bed bunglow).
we love how it blow hot air out of the top via the chimney this feature seems to help you feel warm faster
the only neg is the wheels could be better they seem a bit cheap and nasty but it just a personal view
Just moved into a new flat with storage heaters … how are you supposed to control those things?! It was April but still chilly in the evenings and this was a gift. No smell, no noise, just wonderful, quick heat. Have just ordered another one for the bedroom. Worth the price in my opinion.
Rather than have central heating on we use this oil heater to take the chill off the room.
Wow the heat is fantastic. We have now lowered the setting. Love the centre cavity grill feeling the heat rise from the centre.
Small tiny fault the plastic pull handle situated on the black part gets hot so be careful if you have to pull the radiator to another position in the house especially if it is on full heat. But It Still Scores Top Marks.
Super heater; not too large, especially considering the heat output. Timer function is great as is the variable heat output. Looks good too. On the lowest setting it gives great background heat to a large bedroom in a stone house where there is no formal central heating installed. Very pleased. Amazon UK was the cheapest place I could find these heaters (I could not find the Dragon 4 anywhere in France) and even including the p&p, it was cheaper than buying the previous version in France.
