Bought as a gift to replace an older model. Looks lovely and will hopefully last another 8 years like the last set.
I LOVE the appearance. Proper RAF blue Art Deco design.
Had same brand before so understand it’s workings.
Looks great and easy to use, not so quick boiling
Bought because the colour matched our kitchen, and an interesting shape from a quality manufacturer. Seem pretty good so far, toasts nice and evenly. Has a bagel setting which only toasts one side, but haven’t used it yet.
Hope the price we paid turns out to be good buy
Lovely looking toaster , easy to use , easy to wipe clean with no smears or marks
I love this design so much that I brought the kettle too. It’s a great product, very quick to toast. Came quick and was packaged very well
I’m really really happy with this toaster , it looks gorgeous & it’s so easy to use! I especially love that it has a ‘Bagel’ function toasting one side of bagels , brioche etc !
It is very quick at heating up too.
I love this toaster. It looks great and works great. The only negative is that you can’t push the buttons down too hard or you would capsize the toaster. As long as you’re not heavy handed, it’s grea
A very retro look, solid quality toaster with clear and good settings for browning. The style was what we were aiming for, American diner type feel. The slots will take a good thickness of toast – quite like chunky bread and the standard medium and thick is a doddle. Browning is based roughly on timing and we have found a golden brown to be Quite achievable. We are happy with this and build seems to indicate it will last a while. Is a little pricey though, as it is in the realm of very expensive toasters.
This toaster is pricey, and most of it goes towards the niche aesthetic and feel of it. It looks and feels retro, but with a modern touch. It performs slightly above average, but is there really a grading system for toasters? I see no faults, compromises or errors in this toaster. It’s always consistent in the colour and crunchiness of toast, it’s fast and produces the classic golden crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside depending on your settings.
It’s a heavy toaster and also quite clunky, it’s rugged and tough so it won’t get damaged easily. There is a crumb tray which is easily accessible and cleanable. The dials for toast time are a bit like speed dials on a car, I really like the vibe of it.
Overall, it’s a wonderful toaster. You get consistent and fast toast, with added functionality of defrosting, reheating options for bagels and more.
The design of this is really the winning quality to it. I feel like its an invention right out of Doc Brown’s garage! It has a retro look to it and more dials and knobs than you can shake a stick at.
That being said the dials and knobs aren’t doing anything outstanding or different than a decent 30 toaster would do. But luxury is as luxury does and it certainly feels and looks fancy in the ol’ kitchen.
Stick bread in and power this bad boy up and with all the style of a Delorean it will either TOAST or DEFROST or simply WARM UP the good ol’ slice of bread and not just that, it will do bagels with ease too (which admittedly is nice as those things always tend to get stuck or burnt and set off me fire alarm).
Overall a fantastic little toaster, bit eh on the price but if you can afford it why not. Its a superb little gadget.
This is a good quality toaster, very well made. I wasn’t so sure about the look especially the colour, but it turns out very good, works well with my kitchen, doesn’t look odd at all. It makes very good toasts, 4 large slights in one goal. I like to use 3.5, makes a good golden appearance.
It toasts well, either thick or thin bread, bagels and even bread cakes (rolls I think someone said others call them).
The only downside I found with this toaster is how SHORT the cable is (under 2 foot), so couldn’t have it where I wanted it unless I turned it with the levers etc to the side. I like how you can hook the cable underneath so if close to a socket it isn’t stuck out. Found some of the elements not lighting up which caused one slice to be paler than the other. But love the wide slots.
Found it easy to clean and really love the build quality and the design.
I will be honest and say I wasn’t too sure about the colour of this one from the product page. The actual toaster itself is almost a grey-blue rather than a true blue and I found that I do like the colour more than I thought. It works well in the kitchen and doesn’t look out of place against chrome and black appliance; in fact it adds a nice subtle pop of colour. I also like the powder coated finish, it is not a high gloss so fingerprints don’t really show and it is nicely tactile. I also worried that it would be style over substance. Yes, it is does feel slightly overdesigned with the ridges and billowing base but somehow it does all work and is appealing to the eye.
We’ve had the toaster in the kitchen for a week now and it has been used at least once a day – sometimes two or three times – what can I say, we are big fans of quick and easy eating so toast features quite heavily.
I am still figuring out the settings for toast colour and 3.5 seems to be around right for a pale golden colour when making 4 slices at one time, strangely if only making 1 slice then 3 seems to be a better setting. I do like the setting dials for the depth of colour and they are simple to adjust with a smooth motion. The colour setting also depends on how fresh your loaf is, the older the bread the darker the colour from the same setting number. The instructions even explain this well happen and the “science” behind it. Nice touch.
The eject function is a little urgent and makes a satisfying loud pop so you don’t have to hover over the toaster waiting for it to pop. In fact, I usually set it and then pop back in to the living room because I know I will hear it through the closed kitchen door when ready. Even if you do miss it, the warm function works quite well and on these colder mornings it has proved to be a boon as I can butter the other half’s toast and take it to him (he’s recovering from a stint in the hospital) and just pop mine on the warm function and we both get warm toast.
The slots themselves are satisfyingly deep. We prefer the Warburton’s Toastie loaf and I was worried about how much of the slice would remain untoasted. However, only about 1cm gets missed and I can live with that so I don’t have to double cook my slices which tends to turn them in to rock hard lumps.
I am really impressed with this toaster. However, due to the price point I don’t feel I can give it a full five stars. Yes, it looks good, feels great and does exactly what it says on the box – makes toast. I suppose it will all come down to durability of the product and if this lasts two or three times longer than my usual price range (30 – 50) for a toaster then it will definitely be worth the price tag. However, I don’t think the manufacturer’s would be too happy waiting for 2 or 3 years for a review so I settled on 4 stars.
This is a bigger toaster than we normally use. As our previous toaster was so slow I was looking forward to trying this out.
Firstly it looks fab… so retro. My partner is into anything retro and if he could drool over a toaster then that’s what he did. Toasts four slices of bread at once which is great if like me you’ve got a big family.
This toaster can reheat, defrost etc Definitely the best toaster we’ve ever had.
Looks so good that you don’t mind leaving it out on the kitchen counter.
De Longhi appliances have a good reputation in our household for both design and manufacturing quality. This four-slot toaster continues this trend. The instructions are clear, and the toaster is easy to use. It’s the first time I’ve seem a bagel button, which toasts on one side only – my son-in-law is be particularly please with this addition. Browning action is even, and also repeatable providing no-one moves the settings while dusting!! The manufacturers recommend using a damp cloth to keep the casing looking good. It also looks really attractive, so ticks all our boxes.
Great toaster, love the dials & the buttons, very easy to use and larger slices of bread can easily fit into it which is a massive plus, has 2 crumb trays at the back which easily pull out to remove the crumbs & wipes clean, manual also included, love the colou
I’ve had several toasters in the past but this behemoth is the biggest and cleverest I’ve had. What with two crumb trays, more controls on the front then a Jumbo Jet and all finished off with a lovely Mineral Blue stainless steel finish. It may take up more room in my little kitchen then the old one but, hey it’s earned it’s place.
If you like the style (Art Deco meets Dalek) this is a great toaster. Will need care to keep clean because of the grooving. Will do toast, crumpet, bagels (toasts one side only), warm up and defrost. Can do has four slots that work independently in pairs as each has it own set so dials and buttons. Has two drawers for getting crumbs our although it would also benefit from being turned upside down. Can cope well with handcut doorsteps. Check the footprint before you buy as it is fairly large. Does all you want from a toaster.
This toaster from De’Longhi is amazing to look at. You feel if you twiddle the knobs enough and press the buttons you could guide a plane into land 🙂
So apart from looking good it makes toast. The photo is a toasted bit of homemade sourdough. Toasted at 3.5. I’m very happy with that.
You can also use it to toast one side of things – bagels and muffins. It has a button that enables frozen bread toasting, as well as a cancel the toasting button and a reheat cold toast button.
It looks great. It has quite a large footprint so needs space.
If you are looking for something that looks good, will toast up to 4 slices, do bagels, money no object this will be a great choice. (I love the look of the kettle too.)
It fits 4 large slices of bread and toasts them great compared to my old toaster.
I love this and will be using it going forward. It’s my first De’Longhi product and I am very impressed.
Beautiful looking toaster if that’s the word. Lovely colour. Loads of toasting space and easy to read dial for depending on how you have your toast. Great product but in my opinion a little expensive for what it is and does
This is not just great Italian design, but it does what it’s supposed to do – make toast. Firstly, it is very big, but it is incredibly stylish, sturdy and robust. It’s Italian retro in design but embraces the latest technology with its electronic controls to reheat, defrost or toast one size of bagel. It’s gleaming to look at, and is coated in sculptured resin with light reflective materials. I am reliably informed that the ‘paint’ won’t crack, as has happened on previous De’Longhi toasters. The price tag is high, but worth it purely as a work of art.
A beautiful and versatile piece of kitchen equipment.
Does everything it says, quickly and efficiently. Takes thick slices of bread /bagels, and can toast on one side of bread (which I prefer).
The only quibble I would have, and hence only 4 stars, is that it is a pretty bulky piece of apparatus and takes up a fair amount of counter space, which can be a problem if like me, kitchen counter space is limited.
Other than that it is top of the range.
