Still getting use to it love everything about it sounds great with so many options while mixing and of course loving the fact it’s complete standalone if you don’t want to use a laptop the option is yours.
Very easy to use and takes no time to get used too. I’m coming from a DDJ400 to this and the transition is seemless. Great speakers which were perfect for monitoring in my case (being just a bedroom DJ) or for just messing around without upsetting the neighbors. First time using Engine DJ and I’m very impressed overall. Good speed monitoring new tracks and easy to use interface. Build quality seems good, nice weight and size.
Would have been a 5 star review but the screen is just too small in my opinion for the money paid.
I have tested the unit just for a few days but I can definitely say am superhappy with it. So much fun to mix in standalone mode, the software is incredibly well made and sound quality is great too.
I browsed the market for months and completely ignored Denon because I was gravitating on the Pioneers, so glad I made this choice.
Seems to have issues out the box recording sets on itself but otherwise what a unit. And ive djd for half my life from technics to pioneer and many others. This is a fine bit of kit. Reminds me of my akai live which is a big compliment.
I am a professional nightclub DJ and have been using the excellent Denon Prime Go for my work for some months now.
When the SC live 4 launched I was very interested in it and bought one as the unit uses the same software as the Prime Go and my Mixstream Pro back up device.
The SC 4 live is a fantastic unit which looks and feels really high quality and for those preferring it, has a more conventional layout compared to the Prime Go. It’s a very powerful controller capable of streaming exceptionally well in addition to allowing use of SD cards and memory sticks. In fact, the unit is the first in the world to offer streaming services from Amazon in addition to the usual Tidal, Beatsource link etc, etc.
This unit features some really high quality built in speakers which are perfect for impromptu jamming sessions or if you want to rehearse a set.
It’s also perfect for taking to the club or bar.
It is excellent value for money and honestly is a no brainer which is a must buy.
Superb build quality, works seemlessly with Virtual DJ and as a Standalone, the built in speakers are more than adequate for home sessions and even monitoring in small to medium venues. I am stunned at how much better the sound quality is over my previous controller. So glad I took the gamble and switched to Denon DJ. Bravo!
Let me start by saying this is an amazing controller, my only really qualm is it being two decks only and no spotify support. Updating the device can be tricky the first time, as it’s not clear you have to plug the device into PC USB to update it. Also the noise monitoring sliders are a bit too short so it’s difficult to truly monitor the audio from the sliders alone. I also wish there were two USB slots for music loading.
Outside of that, it does everything I need it to do and is absolutely outstanding. From being able to stream music to the deck, to being standalone and portable to having great life battery as well as a really user friendly UI. I have found that even my beginner friends pick up the decks instantly and mix with ease. I really love these decks. The materials of the decks are strong and sturdy too and DENON has done an amazing job with them. Thank you.
This thing packs a punch is size. Sound quality is fantastic, as you would expect from Denon. The software and effects have a few little foibles, but they are easy enough to workaround or ignore. The layout is a little non standard, but otherwise this will do as much as any other 2 channel standalone, probably more.
Denon DJ Prime Go the best mobile DJ controller on the market right now. It is the only one with lithium battery with a capacity of about 4 hours without any power supply connected. Very well build and professional sound. I recommend 100% to any beginner or pro DJ !
Such as a great piece of hardware, everything works as it should and just enough controls. Not too “busy”. Great for practice without a PC.
One point I have for an improvement is that it would be great if you could use it with PC based software. At the time of writing the unit does not mappable.
Everything you need in one very small gear! Wee monster which allows you to play everywhere! Been using pro equipment before and now decided to move to this wee toy and I’m just surprised of the power of it! Try it, love it!
I’ve used this about 10 times at gigs in clubs, turn up plug in and play.. Fabulous bit of kit.
Also you can record your set while playing.. Amazing
Controls are firm.
Not suitable for scratch djs small jog wheels and loose crossfader.
Highly recommended
Getting it linked up and working with the macbook was alittle bit of a headache but once watching tutorials it worked its magic.
Definitely worth the money upgrading, had to get all my files converters to aiff and mp3 due to the decks files compatibility.
Bought this after coming from a Pioneer controller and oh boy !
The feel of the controls is absolutely sublime, it’s like the biggest step up in quality from a Pioneer FLX6 ever.
Software seems pretty intuitive so far, so glad I went with Denon. Love the fact that I can DJ without a laptop absolutely anywhere. Brilliant bit of kit !
These are absolutely amazing. The sound quality is spot on and you hear every detail of the track you are playing. Crisp sound and deep bass. Big upgrade on my previous headphones used in both live mixing and studio work
It’s great sound and just pop it in a backpack use any usb works so well for an event in a field with a battery speaker so very good
Great innovation by Denon! Fantastic product and has most of all the useful features of the Prime 4, only lacks a slicer and slip mode but with firmware updates these could be added at a later date. Sound quality is immense. Don’t be fooled by the size! This is a PRO unit and you can play anywhere as it’s battery powered!!
Still have a lot to learn, but the Denon prime go seems easy to get round, a lot more there than you think for the better, and very enjoyable to use.
Absolutely love this. As someone who owns a turntable setup and a Rane One, this is perfect just to throw in a backpack on a night out.
As someone who frequents clubs and bars, it’s been very handy to throw in a bag and go. I’ve done a few guest slots already just by having this on me. Not much bigger or heavier than a laptop. Just plug and play.
I recommend using the Prime Engine software and loading up an SD card to leave the usb free (in case somrone else wants to jump on too) . I have an almost full 256gb one in mine, plus a connection to Tidal to cover those awkward request moments.
Beautifully made product. First foray into being a DJ and couldn’t recommend this product enough. Software is excellent and easy to understand. Enjoyable purchase.
I was looking for a powerful bass first of all, but NOT artificial like Skullcrushers. Denon DJ HP1100 is so powerful that the only limit is your ears, do not dare to come even close to max volume, I use it with amplifier but it is not mandatory. The only thing I don’t like is the lack of cushioning on the headband, it really hurts after few hours of gaming… but you can add some cheap cushioning yourself and would have a PERFECT headphones.
Nice clean sound ideal for mixing no Matter the volume
