This is one sturdy bag. Lots of various pockets and an inner fold-down stiff “plank” that keeps bag from collapsing at the base. Beware if you plan to pack it with power tools and hand tools. The weight could reach 40+ lbs and breakdown prematurely. Anyway, it’s a great bag.
Obvjoulsly you need to choose your size carefully, and this one is quite big. I use it for a soldering station set up. I can roll my work static mat and attach it to the top with velcro straps. I like the little pockets along the inside bottom for organizing tools and supplies. Everything I need fits well. Good product.
Received it today. Put all my Dewalt power tools in there. Seems very durable; has lots of useful pockets. However, the zipper on these fold-type bags is sometimes difficult to manipulate and close.
Will write another review after some use and abuse.
So far, after several months, the Dewalt DG5553 has held up really well for me. Better than a couple other brands I have tried. Usually, the shoulder strap snaps off at the hook with every one I’ve had. This one has not yet. Knock on wood. It has all kinds of pockets inside and out (I use only the inside ones) and has a nice separator inside which allows me to keep my lunch items (I place lunch items in containers and put a couple water bottles etc inside) separate from my small tools and utensils. (Screwdrivers, crescent wrenches, fork, spoon etc). This tool bag is the perfect size for me also. Not to big, not too small. If I have a complaint it would be that the shoulder pad is really small and doesn’t have much padding at all.
Would I buy this for more than one or two heavier tools like saws or drills? Hmm… probably not. But for light tools, maybe one drill or saw and especially for a work site lunch box it works great and I love it.
This bag arrived on time and as advertised. It is massive but I’ve already filled it with all my safety equipment. 6 pairs of safety glasses, two headphones, two knee pads, six pairs of gloves!
Excellent bag with lots of side pockets on the outside and inside of the bag. The bag is actually bigger than I thought it would be, so I fill it up. Downside is it makes it more difficult to tote around, but I have everything and the kitchen sink in there so its my fault. Great bag.

This is one big bag! Holds about anything you can think of! Ofcourse the more you add the heavier it becomes. This is the best size with pockets for the price I could find after shopping around. Very high quality.

This is fairly heavy and large, but it is awesome. I’ve had many people comment how nice it looked and wondered where I got it. I like the various size and type of pockets that allow me to be organized. Get it, you won’t regret it.
This bag itself is VERY heavy without having anything in it. It’s thick and sturdy though and has a lot of compartments available. The only issue is once there are tools in the bag, it’s almost impossible to carry (for me), Very satisfied overall!

Wrong bag but I did look at it and thought about keeping it. The bag is very well made and seems very sturdy. The only reason I cannot use this bag is too big for what I need. Would have been great if I still did carpentry. Plenty of room.

great bag. Keeps everything right where it needs to be. Super sturdy. I have probably more than you should put in the bag but it is going tuff never had an issue. Even fell out of my truck and was run over. Bag stayed intact no rips or tares and it stayed closed so all my tools made it back. Highly recommended

Awesome product. I have ordered two of these, one for each of my sons and they hold everything they need with the quality I have come to expect and enjoy from Dewalt.
Now onto the main issue: The website picture and description. I’m assuming that at some point this bag was upgraded/redesign to no longer having the draw cord pouch on the outside, double flap velcro pockets outside on the opposite face nor the pens/pencils holders like shown in the picture. The product information describes it as a Leathercraft product, which is not, and the dimesions are all over the place. I contacted customer service thinking I might have received a different model by mistake, but today I received the exact same bag! So clearly the product must have being updated, but the description was kept the same or crossed with another product.
Amazon’s customer service is still the best so far to fix this issues promptly howeve

This is a nice tool bag. Was looking to replace my Custom Leathercraft tool bag and came across this with the Dewalt logo. Iwas happy to see it was also made by CL and didn’t hesitate with the purchase. It is a deep bag and will hold most of my cordless tools.
Has great space and it’s durable and easy to carry.
Great bag, wish it had bigger pockets inside to slot in a drill and driver. Right not my power tools are just thrown into the bottom of the bag.
Very solid build quality, my only gripe is that it weighs a ton!! Even without anything in it!! I’m having to rethink what I put in it so that I can keep the weight down.
Great heavy duty bag, I have only used it a short while but it seems tough and durable. Note that it will not fit a full length level, but there is lots of room for most everything else.
I chuckled when I read the review from one person who complained that the bag was too heavy, because I thought to myself – just put less in it! Then I loaded up my bag and realized it held a lot, and it was heavy! I guess the point is, that if you put a tool in every spot and throw some power tools in the middle, the bag may hold more than you can carry.
But overall, it is tough, carries a lot, and is good looking. I highly recommend it.

Holds at least five Dewalt 20V tools in main section of bag, with a impressive number of pockets on both the inside and outside for attachments, tools and other accessories. Really tough material and the stay open top after unzipped makes for easy access to everything inside
So far I’ve fit the 18 v drill, 20 v driver 2 batteries each along with their charges, several packages of bits and accessories, a tape, flashlight, knives, hell. A LOT. Still has plenty of room. The shoulder strap is good and strong.

Superior quality….DeWalt probably makes the best tool bag on the market. However, this size seems just too big and heavy when all the available tool pockets are utilized. I’m a stong guy and moving around this bag as my main tool bag was extremely cumbersome. (my opinion, of course) I now have the size down from this one and it works perfectly! The one 2 sizes down is great too!

Great bag, will fit a sawz-all, mini impact, drill, extra batteries, charger, and 20v small DeWalt radio in it with ease. I just wish they made these waterproof, or at least water resistant. I sprayed (soaked) mine with a silicone waterproofing treatment to help protect my tools if I’m caught in the rain on a jobsite, and first time raining my tools were still soaked. But the amount of pockets are useful, and the bag seems to be pretty rugged.
My fiance wanted a nice work bag for all his tools (he is a brick mason and has a ton of stuff he has to carry). I wanted to go with a good quality bag. This bag is really nice, heavy duty. I think it should last him awhile, and the bag is plenty big enough for anything he could possibly need to carry.

OK, to be clear, I always tend to go for the next bigger version and so I bought the 24″ Dewalt bag first and discovered I’d made a mistake. I wasn’t at all happy with it, it was basically just a big, open bag that when filled with all your tools, you still had room for more and after adding more, now you needed someone to help you haul the thing around! It didn’t have enough interior or exterior pockets and di I tell you, it’s huge!
So, once I recovered, I ordered this 18″ (DG5553) Pro Contractors bad and it’s just plain awesome! Holds all my 20V Dewalt tools, batteries, and charger and everything else I need to get the job done. Not being one to gush about a product, but honestly this is about the nicest, most functional “tool bag” I’ve ever owned, OK, it’s the best tool bag I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned plenty of them. This thing is loaded with plenty of exterior pockets for small hand tools and gizmos, and lots of interior space for all the tools you care to load into it. Even has a hard formed “pouch” or holder for a standard mag or similar type of flashlight, which might come in handy when you need to find small stuff down inside this beast.
Between this and my square tool tote/caddy, (fully loaded with all my electrical hand tools) I can tackle just about anything I come across. This bag is Just-The-Right-Size! Not too big, not too small, it’s the bag I’ll get again, if this one ever wears out. But, if you’re like I was, buy both the 24″ and the 18″ and when you get them, see what you think, but if you’re willing to learn from my mistake, buy the 18″ and be happy right from the start!
I love this bag. I’m not a contractor but I like to be prepared. This bag has many side pockets and a deep big main pocket for your tools. I carry it in my truck which is with me at all times. Well constructed. Some of the other guys have asked me about the bag.

This is really huge and holds a lot. I really have no idea when full how I will lift this. I do like having all my screw drivers etc I need for repairing computers etc at hand. It is really build top notch and looking at it should last for years.
Something the single picture here doesn’t let you see, is that on the inside of the bag, there are 6 pockets just like the exterior, as well as two large side pockets on either end of the bag. At the top where the zipper is, there is also what appears to be a zip-able pouch for pencils or small bits/tools. There is also a hard holster-type-case near the top inside, perfect for a utility knife or small mag/flashlight, as well as three pencil holders.
I’ve managed to consolidate all of my tools into the bag (or around it, in one of the MANY pockets), with an enormous amount of room left over. Extremely satisfied, well worth the price. Bag seems very strong and durable as well, but I have yet to use it on the job.

This is a great Tool Bag. It has so much room you can fit more things in it than you want to carry around. I currently have my cordless drill, cordless impact, jigsaw, several batteries and battery charger as well as several small boxes holding drill bits and other small things and there is still room for more. The quality of the bag is as you would expect from Dewalt.
Love this bag. Bought it for my husband who abuses everything. So glad I bought this. It really keeps him organized and has never ripped or broken.

This bag is very well made and has a lot of pockets to hold items and a large area inside to hold whatever you need. There is a small internal pocket that is plastic lined so it will retain its shape, I put bottle of oil in it and I haven’t had any leaking.
I bought this for my husband and he loves it. We are on the move a lot so its nice to have his tools in something that is easy to transport. Product is good quality.
I needed a bag for some tools that came without cases. This bag is huge and holds it all. The multitude of pockets around the outside and on the inside allow you to keep things organized when working away from your shop toolbox. If there is anything I would say against this tool bag is that it is huge. May be too large for some people, but I enjoy the extra room to throw in tools that you “might” need.

What a great tool bag for a contractor! I have the majority of my necessary hand tools in it for service and small jobs. It holds about 50 lbs nicely and keeps things very organized and easy to find. Great quality and 1/2 the price of anywhere else I’ve looked.
We compared this to a husky bag he had prior to getting this one and the Dewalt is much better for my dad.
The pockets of the bag fit the tools perfectly and there is no problem with room, you seem to have enough room for what ever you need. At the moment he has 2 cordless drills, one jig-saw, a circular saw and an impact driver, that is enough for him on almost any job and he can carry it on his shoulder.
We would both recommend this bag.
The Bomb! I have a lot of bags, and reviewed many before taking the plunge w/ this one. I made a wise choice. It will last decades in the conditions I usually work in. Holds tons of everything. Thick and durable.
DeWalt Rocks Again!
I’ve had this bag a couple weeks now. It’s just what I wanted–but be careful what you wish for. I had an outdoor treehouse/deck project going at my church. It was a bit of a trek to the site from the parking lot and I got really tired lugging all the tools that might be necessary (and I always like to buy a new tool for any project). Sometimes took three trips. One of my co-workers had a handy bag-in-a-bucket setup but I wanted something enclosed. This baby will hold it all. I put two (new) DeWalt drills, my saws-all type tool, hammer, boxes of bits, tape, coffee mug, cell phone, all of a job’s necessities. Lots of great little pouches and dividers. Luckily, there’s a sturdy handle and shoulder strap because when this bag is loaded, it’s a real load! Very sturdy. Zippered top is nice but a little hard to get started, maybe because it’s new yet. I’m very pleased with it overall.
I got this just for storage since I only use my tools around the house building a deck, fences, replacing windows, etc. I just wanted something compact in which to store my dewalt power tools so I could replace the bulky plastic case that came with a set I bought and is about 3 times the size of this bag.

This is very well built. Packed this full it is really not suitable for carrying around a lot, but I am considering buying a second one for that purpose.
This bag is incredible. Its got a ton of space for an 18in bag and its tough as nails. I’m blown away by how its constructed. I never saw one in person so, I am very impressed by it. One thing to keep in mind is, the bag is strong and sturdy, therefore it does have some weight to it and with tools and other items it can get to be a lot of weight to carry around. If your carrying it around all day, your either going to get buffed or warn out.

There is not much more to say other that this is a very durable and well made bag. I can fit a ton of hand tools as well as portable drill and multiple batteries and still have room for much more. The only problem being that the bag would get too heavy. The size was a lot larger than I anticipated however I am very pleased that I can move all my tools back and forth without carrying multiple bags/cases. This is a fantastic product that I think should last a very long time.
