I really rate DeWalt products and this did not disappoint it is brilliant just what I expected, it is more expensive than other brands but it does what it is supposed to do sand with little vibration, my old one was a hand numbing experience. It is easy to change sandpaper sheets and the strong clips keeps them very secure whilst doing the job in hand. Would NOT recommend any other brand.
Good value. Bought to replace same one I’ve had for years. Only just died after many hours of use. When this one breaks I’ll buy another.
Been using to sand all the wooden door frames in my house
Light, easy to use one handed, and effective. Vibration is very low and it is very cheap to run using roll sandpaper. The dust collection is OK, certainly better than a sander that doesn’t have one. Pity the hose connection doesn’t fit a domestic vacuum though.
I’m in the trade and have been for many years, this is the best sander out there – well worth the money
As expected from Dewalt an excellent sander, robust, easy to fix the sanding sheets and does the job.
Also the Amazon price was considerably cheaper than the same product from a number of other well known power tool stockists.
Easy to handle, reasonably quiet. Strong. retention of sandpaper sheets. I just love it – its expensive compared to cheaper options but wish I’d spent the extra cash sooner. Can’t really find any negatives
worth paying extra better than cheap ones very low vibratio
Great at detail sanding and powerful. Not that great at collecting all the dust will have to get it connected to a dust collection system in future.
Used this so much already. Sanding industrial shelving, wood beams, filler on walls and general woodwork. You can’t go wrong with Dewalt!
Hervorragend! Dewaltqualitt die einfach Spa macht ! Super Schleifergebnis.
Der Schwingkopf ist nicht unangenehm und macht auch nach lngeren Zeiten keine mden Arme
Let’s just hope this one lasts longer then the other I ordered? Mind you, this one is Dewalt! So I don’t think I will have any issues.
After many years of constant heavy use, my old Dewalt Palm sander gave up the ghost. Time for a new one. After my usual internet brows, I spotted this Dewalt sander at a good price. Arrived fairly quickly. Well packaged. This sander works as expected, very well indeed. Good sander at a good price. I have no doubt this sander will last a good many years of heavy use. Recommended.
Loving this. My Bosch sander died. Bought as a replacement. Sanding area smaller but this works in its advantage. Easier to manoeuvre. It is a lot heavier but I hope this is due to the build quality. Too heavy for my 80 year old Dad. The template for the sand paper hole cutter works well and the vacuum on it does catch a lot of dust. 3 meter lead is excellent. Money well spent.
Just what I needed, as always Dewalt quality is top notch
low vibration – can’t use my old sander any more due to arthritis in my hand. used this one for an hour without any problems. still quite noisy though.
Good little sander. Great that you can use rolls of scratch… Makes it a lot cheaper in the long term.
This sander works most efficiently, and is not too noisy. Anyone who sands down furniture etc would find this product invaluable
Longer cord than the others, and it’s a dewalt,a little noisey but ok.
Great piece of kit. Bought this to re surface my kitchen work tops. I managed to attach to my Henry Hover with a spare connector and gaffer tape, which for the job I was doing worked perfectly. Absolutely no sanding dust anywhere apart from in the hover.
It’s great for large flat surfaces but not good for corners and inside door frames where it won’t reach easily due to it’s size.
Works really well with not much vibration coming back to your hands which is great if you’re using it on a big job.
Well made item that is performing well so far.
Build construction seems to be nice and sturdy with a good length of cable for working.
The only thing to note is a very small power switch that can be fiddley.
Easy to use, very effective, great that you can use ordinary sandpape
Great product right off the bat! Easy and comfortable to use and little pressure needed to see reaults. It is quite noisy for a sander but it is very effective. Another great Dewalt product!
A great little sander that has come in very handy. The quality is very good and the paper fixing is very secure. Basically, it does a great job and is not very loud. Combined with a decent belt sander, this should meet most people’s needs.
As said on other reviews, this has replaced several cheaper sanders and although smaller bed and no speed adjustment, this sander out performs all the others I have had. It is simply superb. The perforation adapter is a great asset as my local hardware store doesn’t stock the size of pre perforated sheets required. As for the dust extraction, not that great but better than others. Easy to attach and remove and easy to empty and clean. If I need to replace this sander I’d buy the same model again.
… so good
Easy to use, doesn’t rattle my tendinitis to death, efficient
I like it and am pleased
Ideal item. Just what I needed and so easy to use. Excellent item at a remarkable price. Top quality.
Bought this sander to sand down a badly scratched and stained veneered door and it did the job well. I found I needed to use coarser paper than I would have chosen by hand, but with patience it made fairly short work of a big job. As others have said, the dustbag catches some but not all of the dust, wearing a mask is a good idea.
Bought this as like the ability to use standard sandpaper with it. Comes with a punch to make holes in. Sands well and made the jobs easier. Creates a lot of dust though so make sure of good ventilation and wear a mask.
A great Dewalt product.
Hold the cheaper sheets in place and really quick to snap in.
I will try with hook and loop sheets next week.
Used it for sanding down 7 or several sash windows found it very powerful gave a good finish and not too bad of vibration on the hands and great for getting into awkward tight spaces only reason I got this one as opposed to the Makita was apparently the cable length on the Makita is a bit short but would not hesitate in recommending this one and I’m a full-time Builde
I have only used it so far to sand down paint from a garden wooden table and chairs. It did a great job on all flat easy access surfaces. It did not allow 100% access to all the height / size restricted nooks & crannies. The jig provided to create the holes in the grit sanding paper to allow dust collection is very useful.
Excellent value for money, sandpaper just clips on with no hassle a brilliant bit of kit.
Over the last thirty years or so I have had many quarter sheet sanders. The Dewalt is simply the best of the lot! This one is my sixth one! Top quality and durable. The only competition is Makita but the power lead on that is too short. I use these for exterior trade painting and one of these will sand off three or four weatherboard houses (perhaps more) before conking out. That is some seriously heavy use. Buy one for DIY use and it should last a lifetime.
Had to replace an old Black and Decker sander. This one came highly reviewed and now that I’ve had it for a little while to do small projects around the house I can see why. The vacuum holes are really powerful so minimises mess and mini debris, and the puncher thing that comes with it makes it so that you do not have but pre-punched sand paper. It’s a bit quieter than my older one but still not exactly silent.
There are no observable faults with this so far, not to say it is perfect but for my needs so far it is.
Not used it yet, but you can feel the quality of the tool, it’s a heavy sturdy build, and nothing rattles when you shake it. So far very happy with purchase. Just to let you know, that black square plate in the photo, is basically a hole punch for sand paper, i.e. you can cut your own sand paper to size, punch holes in the paper so the machine can suck up the saw dust, so therefore you are not obligated to spend lots of money on pre-cut paper which fits a specific model etc! My only complaint is it would have been really nice if it came with a solid Dewalt storage/carry case… I would have no problem in paying extra for that!
I had to strip paint from balustrade in my new home – great for that and may other small jobs!
My wife wanted this to replace the 20 odd year old black and decker proline single handed sander she’d been using. Well it’s easy to use and very effective. All good.
Good value and great result. Needs a smaller tool for the fiddly bits.
Great sander, easy to use and can use rolled sanding pape
I got this thinking it’s the mother of all sanders! I works well and does my donkey work using cut off sheets which is great on costs. Personally now 6 months later and more clues up, I have Festool and MIrka dustless systems. But I still like this one for really getting stuck in with 80 grit!
My husband loves it, I keep giving him off bits of furniture I was doing up and this sands quickly and evenly
I did some research before I bought this and a friend of mine has one and I’d used it already. Being able to use normal rolls of sandpaper is cost effective and the whole thing oozes class. Feels very well built and seems built to last.
Have used it to sand my Birch panels I use for my art. Works perfectly.
I have used this quite a few times now, nice and comfortable in your hand, the on switch can be a bit fiddly. It has s lovely long lead. I would recommend this.
I bought this to sand off chapel pews. It has been used for 140 hours over the last 4 weeks.
I made a modification though. I took off the dust collection bag (removed the spring and cloth from the piece that joins to the sander) bought a straight adaptor for a Dyson for about 3 heated one end over the stove and widened it out so it fitted firmly into the piece that joins to the sander, pushed it in and used a glue gun to secure it. I then used a Dyson DC24 as a dust extractor, clipping the end of the Dyson hose to the adaptor.
It removes the dust so well, there is little left… Really good testimony to the Dyson too, but you could fit an adaptor for any vacuum, not just a Dyson.
With this modification the sander worked really well. It looks and feels a professional machine. For the price very good value. Highly recommend.
I have not tried just using the supplied bag, so cannot comment on that for dust collection.
This sander is small enough to double as my old mouse sander but is easily good enough to cover for my old orbital sander too. The clamps that hold the sand paper on are really good. The dust bag isnt very effective, but then I have never come across one that is!
akes a quarter sheet of paper which is just the right size for decorating imo. paper clamps work perfectly and very easy to use. if you want the dust bag to work better use the punch plate to make holes then a screwdriver or something to make them a little bigger.
overall i’m glad i picked this one.
Handy size, powerful, usefully hole punch template, pleasure to use. Vacuum good also.
Effective. Hard working. As expected by the brand name. Would buy again.
Good handy and easy to use sander and bag helps with dust collectio
Easy to handle. Can use different types of sending paper with this machine
Quality build, low vibration, well balanced, and lovely to use. Amazon locker seals the deal every time for me, with no worries about missing the delivery.
As with most Dewalt tools that I own this is a really sturdy well built sander, the clips for use with non velcro backed sanding sheets is a good option and cost saver. The sander is nice and powerful with a good weight to it, just wished it came in its own T-Stak box as opposed to the cardboard one.
Small machine but have big noisy sound. Handy and Very very useful
Well impressed with the performance.
Made my work much easier- welll build and very durable design.
Best sander ever.
Well made and powerful and a good shape I used mine for sanding down doors and window sill .
Dewalt have a high reputation and you can see why. Well designed and built. Also very reasonably priced for a DeWalt product. This orbital sander is originally from the UK, however a plug adapter is provided in the packaging. Highly recommend. Oh and kudos to the seller, The dispatch was imediate and delivery a day early.
It’s a good sander but the vacuum to collect the wood dust is completely ineffective.
Absolutely as expected – a great piece of kit, can’t fault it.
The item was as described, unfortunately the item arrived without packaging. Came in the box from the manufacture
Product is up to what I wanted , Seller is Great , fast dispatch and reasonable price .
Even with a low level abrasive sand sheet this sander left a fine finish.
Well made sander although when working upside down or in windy conditions expect some dust in you face .
It’s not the cheapest, but it is very nice to use. I purchased this as I’m doubtful about after care and spares offered by some cheaper brands. It’s 1.28kg in weight (according to Dewalt) – a bit heavier than a UK sugar bag. In the couple of weeks I’ve had it, it easily sanded two doors and pared back paint and wood from windows that have never shut properly. I chose this, a mains model, because batteries only add weight and are very costly to replace and being square you can sand right up to edges. One gripe, is the dust extraction doesn’t quite cope, but probably that’s a fault of most of these machines.
excellent piece of kit, good size, good performance and low vibes. very comfortable to hand in use.
Great sander, comes complete with exhaust hole punch so that you are able to use standard sand paper.
Fantastic bit of kit. Great to work with. Fits nicer in my hand. I prefer it to the makita but that could just be a psychological biased as I own the dewalt the makita is a friends I used.
It’s what I want in a sander
Because Velcro looses it grip after short time
It’s ver good in its class
One shouldn’t expect it to compete with full size sander
Great build quality
What I really is for dewalt to bring out cordless sander an route
I used a Black & Decker sander before, but the Dewalt sander is poles apart. Its more powerful, but less noisy and smoother at the same time. Doing the job in less time. Its worth the extra money in the long run.
Husband found it to be exactly what he wanted and expected
Superb tool. 3 year warranty. Very good dust extraction. Easy to operate clips for sanding paper, holds it very securely. Only 1 thing that could be better is the on /off switch. It is covered with dust protection which is good but it is hard switch the tool off. (few times tool restarted on its own – switch was not pressed fully to off and moved back to on position)
Love the paper clamps, far better than I have ever used before. A long mains lead, although rubber, it is quite stiff but appears to be very hard wearing. Quiet for a sander with little vibration to the hand. The dust collection bag is formed around a metal spring which, compared to plastic frames, is unbreakable. Plenty of dust was collected during the sanding of four doors although a fine layer of dust was still left on all other surfaces, as you would expect. Very solid, a nice weight and a pleasure to use, I get the impression it will last a long time. The switch can be a little fiddly due to the dust cover and the plastic paper punch is a pig to find being made of black plastic. You would think that DeWalt would have made the paper punch a nice bright yellow. Not bothered with the velcro part of it, quite happy with paper from the roll and the superb clamps. I’m actually looking forward to my next sanding job, can you believe that?
