I’ve been using this product for a few months and I’m super happy with the performance. I thought it would be a bit heavy and I would need to leave one in the office but I’ve found that I carry it with me all time.
I got this for my steamdeck, works good! Charges well, my USB devices work with it.
Two things wrong however. It can only output 1080p 120Hz onto one display before another monitor struggles. If you want any higher, than 1440p 60hz then this will STRUGGLE, but I don’t know if this is because of the dock or the USB output on the steamdeck itself.
Secondly, when I try to plug USB devices into it I can literally see sparks when it touches the case. Like little white lights of arc… there’s clearly a short somewhere, and it’s scary. My monitors flicker sometimes when it does spark. I am a little concerned because of this. However, it’s DC. and there’s lots of safety diodes, but please be aware that it can spark when plugging in things. Can be a fire hazard if you’re extremely reckless.
But overall, it works?? So…Yeah! 4 outta 5. Does what I wanted and expected.
Couple of hundred pounds cheaper than buying an OEM Lenovo hub, and it’s more versatile. So good I ordered a second one once I tested my first order. Happily recommend.
Works very with steam deck and can have two monitors. Does get warm when being used.
Use a usb Ethernet adapter for a wired connection as this hub doesn’t have a Ethernet port.
Great simple price of kit I use to work at the caravan, run 2 screens on dell latitude pc and 90w power supply also connects the usb devices no problem
I use this for my work, both when I am at home a d when I need to work when traveling.
It’s simple enough to set up and get using. It’s basically just plug and play.
I use it to connect my mouse and monitor screen to my laptop and it works flawlessly. The picture on the laptop screen is great quality and there’s no lag in timing from the laptop to monitor screen.
The unit is small and light but good quality and very sturdy and well built.
This has allowed me to become a lot more efficient with my work, so I recommend highly if you have similar needs.
Changing the monitor resolutions so that the outputs are the same on twin screens is a nightmare. But once you’ve done that it’s absolutely grate
This has ultra hd 4k output with triple display docking station. It is relatively small but packs a punch with DP port up to 4Kx2K@60Hz/3840×2160, 2 x USB 3.0 (Up to 5Gbps) 2 x USB 2.0, 100W PD3.0, Gigabit Ethernet up to 1000Mbps, SD/TF, 3.5mm Audio Jack along with the hdmi ports too. There are so many different things you can do with this wonderful device, it supports mac, os and windows. This gadget allows you to connect so much more to your laptop than you can normally do, which enables you to have more things already set up and ready to go, it also has the DP port instead of the VGA. All the features work on windows but it only allows mirror screen on multiple screens on mac. I found this device to be well made, easy to set up and use and it was so handy to simply connect to my laptop and have the variety of functions and ports available. This is an absolute asset to me when I’m working from home and I have ordered another.
A very useful, high quality, USB C docking station with a decent amount of slots and compatibility.
Having a lot of pictures and videos that need to be sorted from the last family holiday, this little device is perfect for that. I can transfer a great many files to my 4TB external HDD while it only takes up one USB C slot on my laptop, leaving the other USB ports free for my wireless mouse and keyboard.
The speed of transfer is very satisfactory. The general feeling I get off this device is that of high quality.
The price may be a bit steep ( 55.24 at the time of writing), but considering what it offers you, and the quality of that, it is quite worth it.
I ordered this USB-C hub in order to use on my M1 MacBook Pro and it does the job perfectly.
First of all, if feels very high quality, it seems to be made of good, durable materials and I think this will probably last longer than my MacBook will. It manages to be quite light still which makes it good for travelling with however it is quite large so does not easily slide into my laptop sleeve.
I have used most the ports and they all seem to do their job exactly how you would expect. The ethernet port gives a fast, reliable internet connection. The HDMI ports are great for working or watching a movie on a larger screen and the extra USB ports are great for being able to plug in other peripherals.
If you are looking for a high quality, durable USB-C hub, I would 100% recommend this product.
Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor DisplayPort USB C Hub Multiport Adapter Laptop Dock Triple Display Thunderbolt Docking Station to HDMI DP 4 USB SD/TF PD Ethernet Audio for Dell Surface HP Lenovo is currently at the price of 55.24 including next day quick delivery and 30 days returns if anything goes wrong with the item.
I have many different devices to connect to my iMac while working, so this adapter is a perfect addition to my desk.
This adapter is just awesome as I can have 12 additional items plugged, and that includes:
– 2 x 4K HDMI
– 1 x DP
– 1 x RJ45
– 2 x USB 2.0
– 2 x USB 3.0
– Audio jack
– 1 x USB-C
– 1 x SD
– 1 x TF
I used to have an issue with my laptop while working as it has only one USB-C port that I can either use to charge or plug in other devices, but now with this adapter, I can do both and I could not be happier.
This adapter is very well made from sturdy yet lightweight materials, so I hope it will last me many years. It is also nice and compact, so it is easy to carry it in your bag while travelling.
First impressions are a well made docking station, if a fairly expensive one.
USB C connection to various outputs which are a very useful addition to Mac, allowing me easy connection including my projector, saves a lot of time fixing cables etc.
All ports work great, made connecting a selection of devices easy, and I didn’t notice any change to the performance
It’s not a cheap one, but a well made one that works very well, quality is very good, something to keep as a useful add-on.
Given the current device design ethos of less is more, I am constantly finding that I am running out of ports on my portable devices especially, be they laptops or iPads. As a result of this trend a USB hub has become an almost essential item in everyones home. I know I have owned my fair share of hubs over the years, and so I feel confident when I say this is the best I have ever owned.
It is solidly made with a metal outer case, and an integrated USB c cable, and it has the most comprehensive set of inputs I have ever seen, including 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 an SD and micro SD slot, 2x full sized HDMI outputs, a display port out, a gigabit ethernet port and even a 3.5mm headphone jack!
HDMI 1 will output 4K at 60Hz while HDMI 2 will only do 4K at 30Hz and if both are connected at the same time, then 4K at 30Hz is the max both will display. the DP out will do 4K at 60Hz
The SD and micro SD slots are slow at data transfer, but given the standard use of this device (on the go) it is perfectly adequate.
All in all an easy recommend, and travels everywhere with me.
One issue of modern laptops is that the manufacturers have removed all of the exterior ports in an effort to achieve a smaller form-factor (and undoubtedly save production costs). This can be a real challenge when trying to use your laptop in a desktop situation, fortunately this little dongle has you covered offering just the right amount of ports to hook-up multiple devices and get you up-and-running in no time.
Review from my husband:
I got this for my wife’s mac book and it works a treat. It has loads of connectivity and multiple display support which enables a bigger monitor alongside the onboard display so you basically have a bigger workspace.
I love the way the headphone jack actually works! it’s so simple and all through USB! It’s a great piece of kit with endless connections LAN, USB, HDMI thunderbolt, you name it, it works exactly as it should. I know it’s pricey but it’s worth it and makes all your laptop problems disappear and gives you the full functionality of a desktop at a fraction of the price. A nice little gizmo that’s deffo worth the money. 5/5
Great just what I needed, installation brilliant just plug & play
I’m a big fan of docking stations so that I can have the portability of a laptop and the visuals and large keyboard of a descktop. I have been using a ‘Plugable’ docking station for some years. But this Selore docking station is a fraction of the size and has a much smaller footprint than my old one. The technology has also evolved with this offering multi screen support and more ports making this so versatile. The compatibility for my Dell XPS 15 is brilliant, no software to install just plug and play. I literally pulled the cables out of my old docking station and into the new one, everything worked perfectly. The price too surprised me as I paid much more than this 6 years ago for my old docking station!
I have no hesitation in recommending this to you!
This adapter has all of the ports one could actually want (I actually wanted one more old-fashioned USB) and they all work as expected. The thing that other adapters have let me down on is the tightness of the fitting. The laptop this goes with seems to have a slightly loose USB-C port (it has never been anywhere much, and this seems to be a fault with the laptop), and all of the other adapters I have tried universally have intermittent connections or don’t even properly connect. The one I have been using works, provided that you are careful. This one, though is far more robust.
In all, I can find no reason to fault it, and its USB-C plug fits securely in the laptop port, so there is no reason not to give it the full 5 stars, including value for money.
I have had a few Selore&S-Global hubs previously and this one is the 2nd one I have done today, and it came in the usual branded retail packaging. The difference between this one and the first is that this have a DP port instead of a VGA. It offers an extensive array of ports, with the following:
1. 2 x HMDI 4K
2. USB-C PD
3. 2 x USB 2.0
4. DP
5. Ethernet
6. SD Card
7. Micro SD Card
8. 2 x USB 3.0
9. 3.5mm
Although it offers a lot, for me it is missing a USB-C port.
I hooked this up to a modern Windows 10 laptop, together with two 2K WQHD Monitors, Wireless Mouse & Keyboard, 95W Charger, Micro-SD card via SD Card Adapter, Micro-SD Card, Ethernet Cable, and SSD Drive.
Running both the monitors at 2K plus the laptops monitors at 1080p was no issue at all and I was able to have three individual displays and picture quality was very good on all.
Ethernet connection showed no loss of speed vs being connected directly to my router. I am unable to confirm the 1Gb speeds, as my max is currently around the 75Mb.
Charging performance was very good also, bearing in mind I was using a cable capable of handling that level of power.
As to data transfer speeds, this is always a tricky area. Firstly, the 5Gbps speed is often called the “theoretical” speed, since so many things can affect it and you are unlikely to get that on a day-to-day basis and with my current set-up, I have not come anywhere near. Even with an external NVME drive, I am only getting around 1Gbps. As the max speed is 5Gbps, this is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 x 1 hub.
I opted to run a test with an external SSD and these results were much better. The max Read/Write speeds were 460/437, some of the highest results I have got from this drive. Interestingly, the Read speed was very much in line with the other one but the write speed was slightly faster but I would imagine these are just natural variances.
Although I connected this to a laptop, it works equally as well with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. If I switch the Tab into DEX mode, it gives me an almost laptop like experience with this hub connecting everything into it.
Overall, I think this is a versatile, capable, and well put together hub. I could argue it is slightly restricted by only has 2 x USB 3.0 ports, but there are 2 x USB 2.0 thrown in to keep the cost down and if you are connecting in a mouse and keyboard, they do not need USB 3.0. With the market moving to USB-C, it is a shame this does not come with one, but you can always use and adapter.
At the time of writing this review, the hub was 64.99 but there was a 9 off voucher on the product page on the Amazon UK website, making it what I thought was very good value for money.
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
Thunderbolt Docking Station 12 in 1 Triple display Ethernet and Audio
==================================================
A nice thunderbolt (TB) usbc docking station. Being TB it is backwards compatible with lower usbc ports. If you want to use dual or triple monitors with this hub, it is recommended you stick to TB ports. You can plug it into lower ones, since USBC standard is backward compatible, but you will get latency issues with the lower ports not having as much bandwidth. There are two HDMI and one DP port for the monitors. The HDM/DPI port only supports 4k @ 60Hz on a single monitor, and the refresh rate drops down when using dual or triple monitors. Whilst this is not great for gaming, it’s more than good enough for work purposes and casual gaming.
Supporting 2 x USB 3 ports and 2 x USB 2, 1 x Power Delivery port (charge your phone/tablet etc with a whopping max of 100W charge), 2 x HDMI 1 x DP and 1 x Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, 1 x sd card reader, 1 x micro sd card reader and surprisingly an audio jack for external mic/audio, this will cover most peoples requirements.
This hub works slightly better on Windows PCs/laptops as opposed to Apple with the multiple monitor issues with Apple, tested on my gaming laptop over a TB 4 port.Refreshingly works on android phones with usbc. Played just nicely with DEX on Samsung Note 9.
The hub does warm up quite a bit, especially if you are using this for dual/triple monitors, but it’s a fantastic hub supporting TB. A great way to extend a laptop to multiple displays, and small enough to take with you in your laptop bag when travelling. Currently selling at 64,99
There are suddenly loads of USB-C hubs with PD like this on Amazon. I’ve been using one for a couple of years. This one is among the best, as long as you don’t need USB-C ports other than the input port from your charger. It seems odd that they provide four USB-A ports but no USB-C.
I connected this to my XPS 13 via a USB-C extension cable, so that I could locate the hub and tangle of cables at the back of my desk. My XPS charger is plugged into the hub, so it charges my XPS as well as powering the hub. Everything appears to work perfectly, including twin HDMI displays, although I haven’t stressed it or run any performance tests yet. Laptop charging is inevitably a little slower than with the charger connected directly to the laptop.
I’d really like to see a USB-C port or two in the mix. Better still, Thunderbolt. Still, if the port selection on offer here suits your needs, the hub is a good one, at 55.99 after the coupon is applied. But I’m going to be mean and deduct a star because it really needs at least one USB-C port, even if only for future-proofing.
I travel a lot between offices and most of time I need dual monitors, my keyboard, mouse, and a memory card when working. So I decided to buy this hub.
I only have positive things to say about this hub. It’s plug-and-play with every monitor I had in the office. It looks and feels well built. I can easily plug the hub after a conference meeting and switch back to work in a few seconds.
Triple 4K video and Ethernet and PD all in one unit.
A M1 based Mac can only support one external screen
Your USB-C must support video
And if using all three external screens you will almost certainly have to turn your laptop screen off.
Ethernet outlet which is very useful
Recommended if you need three video outputs otherwise if you just need 2 HDMI and Ethernet etc there are other options at a lower price, however if you need triple 4K and Ethernet and PD pass through, for 51, you really can’t go wrong
Review of “Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor DisplayPort USB C”
Why would someone want this product?
These days laptops are getting slimmer. My Laptop is slimline and it only has one USB-C port. By using this device, I can connect an external keyboard, mouse. As well as connecting to an external HDMI monitor. I can also use wired internet (Ethernet) and have reliable internet.
As a bonus, I was able to connect this device to my Android phone and tablet. As long as it has a USB-C connector (newer type)
Here is my experience of connecting the following.
>> Windows tablet PC
I have a Windows PC tablet with only one USB C connector. It is slim 2-1 in device. Using this device, I can get extra ports, so I can connect a USB keyboard, mouse. I can connect to larger HDMI monitor (taking advantage of a larger screen and better sound on my TV or monitor). I also was able to connect an Ethernet cable for reliable internet connection. Great for those zoom calls. No freezing.
I tested this with a Samsung Windows 10 PC. I was pleased and everything worked as it should. I was able to connect this to a 4K monitor.
>> Samsung S4 Android tablet
The product description does not mention connecting Android smartphone. I managed to connect this to my Android tablet. I hooked up an external mouse, keyboard on USB ports. I was able to play videos and the sound came from my TV. I was also able to hook up Ethernet. I prefer this sometimes, Ethernet is more reliable then say Wi-fi internet. This device has a USB-C port, so I was able to charge up my tablet, as well as use other devices.
This is a bonus.
I was able to see both DEX and standard HDMI output (you will need a HDMI cable).
>> Android Smartphone
I hooked this device up to a Samsung Note 9 and Blackbery Key2 phone. I was able to charge the phones and use an external keyboard and mouse. I was able to connect them to my big TV. I coudl hear the sound on the TV. Great for travel, so I can hook up my phone to the hotel TV.
The only thing was not supported was Ethernet on both smartphones.
The product is well made. It worked trouble fee. I did n’t have to install any drivers.
The product is lightweight. It is well made. Portable enough to carry about. In some circumstances it may help to have USB-C extension cable, but this depends on your situation.
Recommended product. Beat my expectation.
I have use multiple adapters but this one has everything you need in one single device. You can use 2 monitors with different connectors. If you have VHA cable option only this will allow you to use VGA AND 2 HDMI cables at the same time.
Good quality product lots of ports that are pretty versatile. Good addition when a lap top has very few ports it’s self
I’m using the dock now, I have 5 usb ports in use, audio and HDMI all at the same time and the device isn’t getting hot at all, its working flawlessly. 5* for this item.
I know nothing about IT so wasn’t sure if I had ordered the right thing. I needed to connect 3 screens. All I did was plug in the sockets into the docking station and my laptop recognised all the screens.
Works well and with no external power supply, it does get hot though, but it works a trea
only complaint is the cable bit short for my setup
I used this on my second pc, were i kepy my internal lan on the machines own network and then was able to wire this as a second network card yo work bridging the networks.
For which it worked a treat.usb perfirmance us great, itll drive your secind screen no problem (but your milage may vary depending on your machine and screen resolution).
It also worked weell to bring all my disoarate usb connevtions together.
Right out of the box this feels a quality item. It is solidly constructed and gives confidence that it will stand up to being carted around in a computer bag. It is USB-C and, importantly, has a charge through port as well as pretty much any other port you will need – USB-A/C, SD card, ethernet, VGA, 3.5 audio. Impressive.
This is an excellent compact 14 in 1 multiport adapter. It has turned my laptop into a portable powerhouse. I can now make the most out of my MacBook pro when I’m at home or on the move, mainly because it only has USB c ports. I can now use a wide variety of peripherals. The multifunction hub allows me to connect USB 3.0 & USB 2.0 devices, HDMI, audio & mic, USB-c, RJ45, VGA, and SD/Micro SD cards. The limitations are using macOS on screen mirroring and extending, this doesn’t apply to windows. Overall, this is a neat and tidy device, it has a good number of ports, supports 1080p/4K output and USB Type-C charging.
I have used docking stations before but this one beats them all with the shear amount of connections available. New laptops seem to be cutting down costs by removing SD Card readers, HDMI outputs and only having on USB is becoming the norm. This dock fills that gap, almost most 2021 Ultrabook laptops have just USB C port, so docks like these are becoming popular. At first impressions this unit is well built and compact, it’s made of Metal and gives a premium look and feel. I connected this to my Dell G3 and also used it on my i5 PC. It worked as it should do, the performance was great loaded a SD card with 1080p footage and the files were transferred and read quite quickly, I also used the Cat 5 port which Is quite handy especially when downloading large files this gave me the extra bandwidth I required, otherwise my Wi-Fi maxed out 300 Mbps. I really like having the extra ports I can now attach the keyboard and also the mouse. I charged my phone at the same time I was using the Card reader there was no data or power issues. I did output my laptops desktop via the HDMI and it worked, I didn’t try dual output as I don’t have another monitor, but I’m sure it works. Overall I am pleased with this dock it offers almost every input and output port you could ever need, its well designed and great value too.
Laptop Docking Station, 14 in 1 USB is great. For 54.99 you get a lot. There is usb on both sides. 5*.
This well exceeded my expectations. I am using with my HP Envy laptop.
First off, I noticed straight away, the build quality is fantastic, my laptop is all metal, so the hub matches perfectly.
Features are excellent, I love the extend mode, I’m not a huge gamer, but it has other advantages, I will be able to be more productive as I won’t be switching between screens, I really need to get that third monitor now. It supports DP1.4 so even the hard-core gamers will be impressed at the speed.
The extra USB connectors are welcome as I use a lot of usb drives for my photo restorations and also use usb hard drives. Transfer speed is brilliant from both USB and the card slots, I shoot in raw so fast SD card reading is fantastic.
The ethernet port is handier than I thought, I had no way of testing connection at the POA without it, brilliant.
I was surprised that I can even use with my Huawei phone, so quick and easy to backup my photos from it. How on earth did I manage to get over 5000 lol.
Fits easily into the pocket on my laptop sleeve.
14 PORTS IN THIS USB STATION, VARIOUS USB SLOTS USB 3.0, USB 2.O, SD AND TF CARD SLOTS. ETHERNET AND HDMI. EXPAND YOUR PORTS ON YOUR PC OR LAPTOP. PORTABLE SO GREAT FOR ON THE MOVE. USB C TYPE CONNECTION.
At 52.99, at the time of writing,
This :
Laptop Docking Station, 14 in 1 USB C Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor Multiport Adapter with 4K Dual HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, 5USB, PD, USB C Data Transfer SD/TF, Audio for Dell XPS Surface HP Lenovo
Looks to be a serious solution to all your connection needs.
But…
Is it any good?
Is it good value?
Does it really do everything that it looks like it can do?
Will it bring me inner peace, and happiness?
Will I get a nice cup of tea at some point during the review?
Will there be many more of these annoying questions?
Well, the answer to some of them should lie ahead of us.
Even by blind luck, we should at least stumble accross one or two…
So, let’s hold hands, take a deep breath, and take our first faltering steps together, on our quest for answers, across metaphorical mountains, and oceans deep with similies, as we take a closer look……
(That part would have had stirring orchestral backing music, if this was a movie… it deserved it.)
It arrives in an unassuming, pretty plain, and subtle, cardboard box.
It doesn’t scream quality, and it’s a fairly low key first impression.
Out of it’s initial packaging, and the contents are:
1 x 14 in 1 Laptop Docking Station
1 x Instructions
Nice and simple.
Just like me.
No… wait… not just ….. dammit….
The build quality on the hub, is excellent.
It is made from aluminium alloy, and is strong, light, and very durable.
It’s finish is of the highest standard.
All the junctions are beautifully resolved.
There are no mould marks, ragged edges or any sign of a cheap short cut anywhere.
It’s very small, and compact, at just 17cm x 8cm, which means it is chunky, and solid, when you pick it up.
It feels ike there is a lot packed in to a small space.
The main connection is a 15cm long USB-C connector, on a TPU, or PVC coated cable.
It’s a shame that the cable is not braided nylon, as the superior qualities of the braided nylon cable, compared to the included plastic one, would boost this Hub’s quality through the roof.
It slightly let’s the side down, to be honest.
A hub as good as this deserves the best cable.
And this is not the best cable.
Once plugged in, you now have access to a plethora of ports.
I think that’s the collective noun for ports.
i could be wrong…. it might be a flange of ports… or even a murmuring of ports.
Either way… you get a lot… let’s list them here:
3 x USB-A 3.0 Ports
2 x USB-A 2.0 Ports
2 x USB-A 2.0 Ports
2 x HDMI Ports
1 x USB-C Ports
1 x USB-C PD Power Port
1 x VGA Port
1 x Ethernet Port
1 x Headphone / Microphone Port
1 x SD Card Port
1 x TF card Port
That is a serious amount of connectivity, right there.
It’s going to involve a lot of plugging in things, and unplugging of things, to test this.
I think it’s a pretty balanced, and comprehensive set of ports, that was well considered, and well thought through, before unleashing them all on us.
There is nothing that I can see, that is a glaring omission, or anything I think I would add.
Except, at this point… probably a nice cup of tea…
Oooh… lovely… I’ve earned one, just for getting this far in… .
Feel free to join me… biscuit ?
In testing, once all the plugging in was complete, it did not put a foot wrong.
The HDMI ports were able to display a cloned display, or an extended display, on two monitors simultaneously.
It could have popped another display up there… had my TV, or monitors, had a VGA port.
I doubt many will get use out of that one.
It’s a bit of an insurance policy against encountering really old technology, should you be out and about, doing mobile presentations etc…, you won’t be stopped by an errant VGA port.
The visuals were crystal clear, and smooth as a box of buttered frogs .
The USB ports were all very capable.
The powered one kept my laptop power going, and charging, while connected.
The others were fast, and error free.
There is little chance of you not having enough USB ports to power all those peripherals you have collected, such as mouses, graphics tabs, or dancing flower pots .
Flash drives were recognised, and mounted, with data transfer pretty much instant.
The ethernet port is handy to have, when at base camp.
Nothing beats the speed of a wired connection.
It was fast, error free and kept the data fast and flowing.
The Card slots are pretty useful, if seldom used.
I did fire up a couple that were filled full of old memories.
Mainly of cats wearing bandanas, and cats sitting. or cats lying down.
Luckily… we now have a dog, to mix things up, in the photograph department.
The slots were fast, and error free, too.
The Laptop Docking Station got slightly warm during testing.
Nothing that you could fry an egg on… or any fried food on… just slightly raised, temperature wise.
There were no crashes, conflicts, ports that were needing coaxed into life, or failed connections at any point during testing.
Everything worked flawlessly, with no sticky, or even slightly worrying, moments.
I wish everything would run as smoothly as this hub.
I think that at this point, we should ask for the kettle to be boiled…
Overall, the Laptop Docking Station is brilliant.
It’s really well designed.
It has everything you could ever ask for, connection wise.
I couldn’t have asked for any more, and would’t have changed anything… except perhaps the strange inclusion of the seemingly redundant VGA port.
That’s a strange choice, indeed.
But, other than that, it’s a perfectly put together piece of kit.
A serious, and beautifully made piece of kit.
A bit of kit that has a slick, and flawless performance, when called upon.
I love it.
It’s very highly recommended.
I think at this point… it’s time for that cup of tea… Milk, no sugar… …
oooh…. lovely… how’s yours?…
I doubt it will bring you inner peace…
but it might just make you happy, as it did, me.
I hope that you have enjoyed our time together .
Thank you for reading my review .
The ‘SELORE’ dock is supplied inside a plastic bag in a neat recyclable box (pic 1). It is well made from metal and plastic and features the usual short, stiff USB C lead that is typical of this type of device. The latter is not all that flexible and the dock did not want to lie flat or in fact stay on the desk initially but a little gentle persuasion did the trick in the end. The dock does not have any non-slip material on it and does slide around a bit but, once in place though and on my non-slip mat, that was not really a problem.
The standout feature of this dock is the really wide and useful range of sockets. I will not bore you by listing them all again here but I will go through and say how well they worked. Firstly, it is always nice to have a RJ45 LAN connection. This can be connected to an access point and ensures faster internet that does not rely on the vagaries of Wi-Fi. This worked well enough and is certainly up to specification as far a speed goes. It got the expected maximum from my network on my laptop. Then there are the video sockets. I used one on the HDMIs and the VGA socket in a two monitor set up and was very happy with the video and sound quality. The SD and micro SD card slots worked well and are of the push in/pull out variety. My cards were found with no hitches and transfer rates were quite acceptable. It is similar story with the USB A and USB C sockets. They all worked well and transferring 50Gb of data between 2 fast sticks took no time at all or in other words about as long as I had expected. Obviously there is some difference between the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds but again this is as you would expect and in practise both are more than fast enough for everyday tasks. The power pass through worked well and charged my laptop as least as fast as plugging in directly to the charger. The USB C video pass through also was as expected in the 2 monitor set up I mentioned earlier. I have left the 3.5mm audio socket until last because this deserves a special mention. I loved the spacious airiness of the sound it produced through my headphones and plug in speaker. It sounded considerably more 3-dimensional than the same music played through the audio jack on my laptop. This was indeed a pleasant surprise. I like my music and it is rewarding to be able to hear it, in nearly all its glory, without turning on the stereo.
There were a couple of things that I should comment on. There was some audible noise on the 3.5mm audio jack when it was plugged in but no music was playing. Mostly the occasional pop and crackle. These were not audible using the jack on the computer and so it was not the speaker or headphones. It may be just my example and nothing was audible once the music started. Personally I am prepared to forgive this for the excellent sound quality when the music is playing. The LAN socket was a little slow when used with a plug in range extender. When I say slow I mean slower than the same device plugged straight into my laptop’s RJ45 socket. When I switched to my powerline adapter there was no noticeable difference between using the hub and plugging in direct. The range adapter is older and slower than the powerline adapter and I was not using it in ideal conditions but the difference is there. In practise, I will not use it. It was just convenient for initial testing but there you have it. I do not think this would be an issue for most set ups. It is probably down to a flow control compatibility issue between to dock and this older piece of kit.
So this is a very useful and versatile docking station that works extremely well for most purposes. It does not get hot when in use, even when you are fully plugged up and pushing it. There is enough power on tap to run USB speakers, microphones and lights simultaneously and the data transfer speeds are perfectly good. Although the length of the cable means it is better suited to use with a laptop I have also plugged mine into my desktop via an adapter and the available functionality, (no power transfer and no video in my case), works very well. This will pop into my bag with my laptop though. I am due a new desktop in a year or so and I will make sure that it has the functions currently lacking and so who knows I may use this with it then. There are certainly plenty of this type of dock out there to choose from but for what you get from this one it is pretty good value for the cash and then there is that excellent audio. The latter clinches it for me. Recommended.
So we all know nowadays that laptops are striving to become thinner and lighter. But this poses problems when it comes to USB sockets. This solves all your problems, especially if you like to pick up your laptop and move from home to office. I have this plugged in on my desk at work. I have everything plugged into this adapter, so at the end of the week, I literally just unplug that one thing to take my laptop home, unlike previously where I was having to plug 3 USB’s, Power cable, HDMI, Headphones… this is just one USB-C to unplug.
It’s very plug and play. No issues with anything working at all. The fact that this opens up triple display option (4 displays if you include your laptop screen) it’s unreal!!
Very impressive indeed, I do use hubs but not one that has everything all housed in a sleek unit like this. I had ethernet, HDMI, PD charging my laptop, mobile connected and a USB lamp plugged into this hub and it was all going through my laptop via the USB-C cable, totally amazing to be honest. At 50.99, I think it’s totally worth it, highly recommended!
What I liked:
It’s an all in one solution for all my connections into my laptop
Has every port necessary for a laptop
Small & compact
Power pass through, PD up to 100W
Offers USB 3.0 ports and USB-C, up to 5Gbps
Ethernet port handles up to 1000Mbps
Good value for money
What I didn’t like:
Ethernet and VGA ports too close together
Recommended!
This gadget has seriously cut down all the smaller hubs and devices plugged into my limited port laptop. I only have one USB-C port on my Dell 14 5000 and a few USB-A ports and I always max them out with a small USB-C hub, an ethernet USB adapter, with BT dongles for mouse & keyboard and a HDMI cable coming from it for the 2nd, bigger display. This docking station has simplified all this and performs exceptionally well.
It’s small and compact, measuring only 17 x 8cm. The connection plug is a USB-C type, the lead is about 15cm long and is very sturdy, it isn’t nylon braided. You have numerous ports on this hub consisting of:
2 x HDMI
2 x USB-A 2.0
3 x USB-A 3.0
1 x USB-C
1 x USB-C PD power port
1 x VGA
1 x Ethernet
1 x Headphone/microphone
1 x SD card slot
1 x TF card slot
Now that should be all you need, well it is for me. In use I connected this to my laptop, connected a 100W power supply into the hub (USB-C), ethernet cable, HDMI, mobile phone via USB-C and a flash drive into the USB 3.0 port. I was amazed that all this was going into my laptop using just one connection, the USB-C plug. I had internet which was as fast as it would be normally using my other ethernet USB adapter, the 2nd monitor came to life, fantastic resolution, the memory card was able to transfer files mighty quick and I had data access to my mobile.
The docking station did get warm which was to be expected but other than that it truly was top notch. So when I have finished with my laptop I only have to unplug one lead and off I go.
The only issue I think may arise is the close proximity of the VGA and ethernet port. I don’t have any use for this VGA port at present, but I know from previous use of VGA plugs, they are rather wide and I feel this may block using the ethernet port unless you get a VGA plug with a small width, without the connection screws on.
This hub can power up to 3 displays, 2 via the HDMI and the other via the VGA port!
Overall, very impressive, it’s compact, fast, delivers on its specifications and best of all makes my life somewhat easier.
Full marks, highly recommended.

Wow! More ports than anyone could possibly wish for! Where do I start? It has 5 USB-A, 3 USB-C, 2 HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, SD/TF, and audio ports! It’s extremely well made, never gets hot and colour matches my MacBook Pro very well.
Its HDMI ports can output 4K video at 60Hz, supports gigabit Ethernet, 5Gbps transfer speed on the USB-C port, 100w power delivery.. I could go on and on! Everything about this hub is top quality. I’ve looked on the market and cannot find another hub that has all of these features.
This gets a super 5***** rating from me.
Thank you for reading my review. X
Do you miss having all of the different ports a desktop gives you when you only have a laptop? Well, miss them no longer because this device gives you 14 of the best ones. That means running multiple monitors is a breeze, with additional USB ports and slots for memory cards. Even a port for your microphone/audio and old-style VGA video.
This is a massive boost to your connectivity for your mobile devices. And you do not even lose a USB-C port because you have plugged this in because there are two available on the hub, one for data and another for charging. A docking station is an excellent description for the pure range of ports this adds to your rig whatever it may be.
