This is the first projector I have ever purchased so I’m not an expert. I was however searching for an affordable good quality projector for an outdoor cinema birthday party and went with this one based on the reviews. We haven’t had the party yet so haven’t watched a full movie as yet but I have set it up to test it to make sure everything was working as it should be. So far I’m impressed with the colour and picture quality and the sound seems pretty good to, although it may be beneficial to add a speaker or two if you’re sitting at a distance from the projector. I’ll give an update once we have used it for the party but so far I’m really impressed and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Purchased projector during lock down. Great product picture quality good. Brightness at the right level. Was like being at the cinema but at home- great family evening! Can’t wait for others to come and experience thus with us. Good price – easy to set up.

I bought this product hoping for the best but not sure due to the price but I wasn’t dissapppointed! Oh my god this is amazing!! The picture quality was great, the clarity and colour etc it was all spot on!! We had a socially distanced film night with friends and all of us said how great it is!! We haven’t used the screen yet as we projected it onto the side of the house (painted white) and it was as clear as day! Would definitely recommend!! Quick and efficient service too.

Been looking for a compact little projector for quite some time but wasn’t sure I actually would get the benefits from such a purchase. So instead of spending a fortune on an expensive model I thought I dip my toe in with a cheaper model. Delivery was on time and the product was very well packed on first viewing the projector seems reasonably well built. Set up was very easy if you have any experience with setting things up via HDMI cable. I spent a few minutes putting up the free screen just to see the size and then being a little impatient I decided to test out the projector. I was impressed with the quality of the picture (the screen and position of the projector were only temporary) I did have to fiddle with the colour and contrast. The fan is noticeable when projector on with nothing playing but once you press play on your device the fan is not noticable. The inbuilt speaker is serviceable and louder then I expected but there’s no depth to the sound so external speakers might be necessary. I will be using my surround sound system. One down side is I noticed on some reviews that digital zoom was an option unfortunately that isnt the case. I would say as a starter projector then this is a quality little purchase.

    Impressed.

I purchased this projector Dec’19 and when received and setup I was very impressed with the product especially for the price, this was a good value item that produced quality results even when the room wasn’t in total darkness. I’ve had communication with the seller regarding the projector and must say he was very responsive and helpful and resolved my problem. Many Thanks.

Bought this a few weeks ago to replace my old tv and I am absolutely loving it! The first projector I received was faulty but it was quickly replaced hassle free for another one which is working perfectly, so very happy with the great level of customer service.
I bought this for movies and gaming and both look fantastic on it. It really does feel like a cinema experience. So far I’ve tried Xbox 360, Xbox one, ps3, and PS4 on it and have been able to connect them all via the hdmi slot with no issues at all. I’ve also used the hdmi slot to connect my chromecast device which allows me to stream from my Netflix/prime video/YouTube accounts. There is also a usb slot which is super handy if you have movies or tv shows downloaded onto a usb. Just slot it into the projector and you’re good to go.
The projector does make some noise when it’s running but it’s not really noticeable when your movie/game sound is on so not an issue for me. The actual projector sound quality is really clear and can be turned up so that you definitely won’t have any problem hearing it even if you’re sitting all the way across the room. You can also change between different sound and picture modes which is a nice touch.
Setup time is instant, just plug in the projector, switch it on, aim it at the wall and your all set. I found it worked both on a blank wall and on the cloth screen that comes with it. The screen is nice and big and easy to attach to the walls with the included plastic hooks.
All in all a fantastic, light, compact device which makes viewing and gaming an amazing, big screen experience.

    Such a fun little projector!

Really pleased with the product. It’s perfect for if you’re after a good quality, all round projector to watch TV/Films on. Text clarity isn’t amazing so I wouldn’t recommend for powerpoint presentations etc though its still doable. Colors are bright and though best picture quality is achieved in a completely dark room, it is still perfectly adequate with the curtains drawn in the day time. Built in speaker is a bonus along with the compact, portable size.

Although you can adjust the angle of the projector a little, I would suggest ensuring you can put the projector at the same level as the projection screen/wall to avoid making a complex arrangement of thick books to get the right height… if you can’t do this, its worth getting a tripod for ease… unless you have a stock of neglected text books!

Projection screen is good quality and comes with hooks that you can stick on the wall. Although, we’re happy with just the wall!

All in, there are loads of projectors on the market and so if you’re after something that does the job (e.g. to replace a TV), I would absolutely suggest going for it.

Was sceptical about the quality of the projector given some of the bad reviews and wasnt expecting much for the price however was pleasantly surprised. Bought to use for our “Outdoor Cinema” and have already used a number of times. Brightness is ok for a low budget projector and picture is great. Comes with large projector screen as well which is a great bonus. Best used in darker conditions but have used outside before sundown and is watchable. Cant wait to try inside for Halloween and Christmas projections. Highly recommended if you dont want to splash the cash on a more expensive projector.

I loved this projector. My husband and I are quarantining and missed the cinema, so this was the perfect substitute (almost better, because we got to lie down and have bathroom breaks while watching). The picture and color quality is wonderful, and it was really easy to set up the projector. The challenge for us was that we’re in a small space, so it was hard to find a spot where we can put the projector stably and get a good image size and location. We ended up putting it on a bookshelf and it worked perfectly. We binge-watched season 1 of Stranger Things in one night and let me tell you, it was GLORIOUS! Definitely recommend!

The only drawback, and the reason I subtracted a star, is because the fan noise was actually quite loud in my opinion. I was really disappointed because other reviews said it wasn’t, but I found I had to have the volume higher than I normally would to drown out the fan noise. Then again, that could be because the projector was almost right over our heads due to limited space. In the end, we got around that by making the sound come out of the laptop and connecting the laptop to a Bluetooth speaker that we put even closer to our heads, haha. Oh, This projector is not wireless by the way, and doesn’t connect to anything wirelessly. Thought I’d mention that because for some reason I thought it was wireless when I bought it.

Just wanted to review my purchase on the DRQ-HI04 Projector

Superb sums it all in one word.
A colleague of mine bought one a few months back and told me how great it was and was really pleased with it. After doing some reviews I decided to buy one also. Really surprised at how well it performs.
Small & Compact so ideal for mounting anywhere.
The quality of the image is very good, I was really surprised. The light this little beauty can project is amazing,
I watched several movies on it last night and was very pleased.

Sound quality & volume is good. the fact you can plug in external speakers is a benefit.
USB input & VGA, so really does have flexibility.
Value for money overall is very good. I think you would have to spend a great deal more money to get any better than this unit.

Photo’s included to give you an idea. My TV is a 52″, Projector is about 4Metres from the Wall.

Superb, compact & Great Value for Money

I have only had this Projector a week or so but find it a good purchase, we use it as a
N outside Cinema (weather Permitting)so we have our very own drive in. My only criticism is the focus adjuster it seems very flimsy and I am afraid I might break it, would be possible to have some sort of raised knob so it is easier to move.

The screen that came with it is very handy as I can hang it at the entrance of our summer house and project from the inside out on to it so the projector is inside and not exposed to the elements.

It works great with my Fire-stick.

Really happy so far with the Projector.

We bought this projector so we could start having our “date nights” in lockdown and get some time away from the kids even being stuck at home. We blacked out the gazebo in the garden, hung up the screen, set up the projector and plugged the fire stick straight into it and it was set up within minutes. We love it and was really impressed with the picture, the sound was a little tiny at first (play around with the settings and you can get it right) and the fan is really quiet too. A great buy and will definitely recommend!

    Great buy!

I ordered this as always wanted one and I’ve got to say it hasn’t disappointed. Picture is very high quality. Most importantly for me was sound. I can tell you it is brilliant straight from the projector most people on the reviews I read plugged a speaker in. I watched a film in the garden found my self turning the volume down to just 18 goes upto 100 . Also the remote not mentioned in the package but is brilliant easy to use. Overall value for money absolute bargain. Looking forward to some sports next .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve long wanted to purchase an outdoor projector for movie nights in the garden and since lockdown has ensured any holidays in the near future will be spent in Costa Del Backyard, now was a perfect time to take the plunge! Like many, I was concerned about how much one needed to spend in order to get a decent set up. After seeing the reviews and reviewer pictures, I took a chance on this model and I have to say I’m so happy I did. First off, if you are expecting a super high def, 4K picture then you need to be more realistic, but I assure you the picture quality is more than adequate and does get very near to HD specs. I honestly don’t think you will be disappointed. I’m one of those tv snobs who has to have a huge 4K Ultra HD TV in the house and I am perfectly happy with the projector for a fun outdoor cinema experience. Also, the menu options give you lots of room to tinker to your preferences. I was shocked at how powerful the speakers are! Those saying they need soundbars must live somewhere with no neighbours for miles because I would deafen the street if I whacked the volume up full pelt! TWO THINGS to take into account – you WILL need to have a stand for the screen. It is made from an opaque material and preferably needs to be clamped to a stand in order to have some tautness. I had a spare stand I use for green screens so I used that. If you are using the projector against a wall or ceiling then bob’s your uncle – it works great indoors too. Second thing, if using it for outdoor viewing you will need to wait for it to go quite dark. I hate having to wait so long since we have quite light nights now but that’s the only con really. So far I have used with chrome cast and dvd both work great. The projector itself is quite light & compact and the fan noise is very faint once the volume is up and it’s not an annoying whirring noise…it’s quite subtle. I use a tripod to mount the projector as it has a thread on the bottom which is handy. The remote doesn’t come with batteries so you will need 2 AAA ones. I have added a short video and some pics – I chose Benidorm so you could see how good the colour grading was i.e the blue water, colourful clothes etc. Hope this review helps 🙂

    Outdoor Cinema Becomes Reality!! :)

I was very sceptical when reading reviews but decided to take a gamble and I’m glad I did.

This projector is not only great value for money but does the job of expensive ones on the market.

Picture quality is great, sound is impressive, remote works great, it’s small and compact for office and work use as well as family movie nights.

Connects to my laptop using HDMI cable.

I can’t fault it even if I tried!

Very impressed, picture quality is great with or without the screen (onto a plain wall) sound is good…
I have it running off a fire stick (was already set up), which you just plug it in & select your input source to hdmi.
My boys can’t wait to play xbox games on it!!

I purchased this item to see if the quality was any good, and i have been quite surprised at the quality of the picture, I have streamed a full 1080p File from Amazon and NetFlix without a problem, I have also watched live television, The sound is ok and the Picture is Great.
So for the price it is worth it, my only 2 down sides so far is the fan is a little noisy, And you have to wait until its getting quite dark before you can watch it outside.

This projector is an incredible piece of kit! I was not sure what to expect, as this is my first projector, but WOW! When I opened the box, it was all so neatly packed. Contents: Projector, remote control, white fabric screen with eyelets and even sticky hooks, HDMI cable, AV cable (I have yet to use), instruction manual. So easy to use. From the moment I opened it, I plugged in a USB stick and played the content immediately. The picture was jaw dropping, very bright (obviously in dark settings) sharp, and the colours beautiful. I was, and still am, blown away by this device. The remote control is also very well made and responsive. Would highly recommend.

I am absolutely made up with this brilliant buy, especially due to the current situation of having to isolate with bored children. My children watched movies outside when it went dark and then fell asleep rapidly due to being in the fresh air. I did plug in a further speaker for using it outside which I think is needed as the projector speaker is great for inside but no loud enough for outside. It also displays images great on a plain wall in the house without using the screen. I have put a picture up on my Facebook account and a lot of friends have said what a fantastic idea and due to the price I’m sure you will definitely have a few further customers

I will start off by saying this really is a home projector and not ideal for presentations in brightly lit rooms.

The projector is outstanding and can’t recommend it enough. Very well built. It is easy to set up and operate with no complications. It’s picture clarity is great. Colours are pretty crisp and sharp. It is very comparable to well known brands on the market. The room needs to be in low light to get decent quality but you’ll get best video picture experience if in complete darkness like any other projectors. Also the fan is little loud but not noticable when watching movies because the volume on the projector is good too.

Overall, for a mini projector, you really can’t beat it. Really good value for money! Good image quality for home theater. I have really liked it so far and very happy to buy this instead of buying TV for movie nights.

What can I say! I was confident after reading reviews that this was going to be good but it really is better than I expected. As you can see in my picture the screen can go to a huge size if needed and is still watchable. My video is in daylight with the lights off, and as you can see, its a great picture. For under sixty pounds you can’t go wrong.
PROS: Picture Quality, Ease of use, Digital Zoom, Price, Free Screen.
CONS: Fan Noise, Internal Speaker Quality.
I am being picky with the Fan noise and speaker quality because once I connected an external speaker it sorted both issues. I highly recommend this projector.

I am pleased with my projector, brought for occasional use film nights with the kids etc wasnt expecting such a great quality picture and sound for the price. Yes the fan is a bit noisy but if the volume is up high you dont notice can also attach extra speakers for a boost if you want to. Projects to a very large size clearly.

Unfortunately, I had some trouble getting it to connect with my Samsung S10 phone or Amazon fire tablet to play Netflix etc using HDMI to USB. After reading reviews I got a Roku TV stick and that worked perfectly first time.

I saw the projector at a clients offices and asked about it – they gave it a 5 star rating so I purchased one myself.
The quality of the projector is excellent and it worked straight out of the box plugged into my laptop with HDMI cable. All cables came with the projector which was fantastic because I didnt have to go out and buy a new cable. The screen that comes with it is also of a high quality.
The value for money is exceptional for this projector and I will be passing the link on to other people I know who would love to use it.

Easy to setup. I’ve paired it up with a tv stick so now I don’t have to use the tv and will put this on when I fancy watching something.
I haven’t used the projector screen so can’t comment but it’s a nice added extra.
Movie nights have now changed for the better and my kids love it.
I thought it was fairly noisy at first (but I’ve never had a projector so…) not only that once you’ve got a movie on you won’t hear it anyway. Sound quality is okay. Packaged very well and came the next day.

    Excellent :)

I’ve toyed with getting a projector for a long time and during black Friday found this for 50. Literally a day later it jumped to 65.

We use it in the loft on the sloping roof (painted white) and even if close approx. 3-4m picture reaches to around 120″ and is great quality.

I’ve just purchased a Chromecast to go alongside it and found out it has inbuilt speakers!!! Tied in with a 15 travel case and we’ve now got a great little solution for holidays.

It does come with a white screen for hanging, but I can’t be bothered with it. That said if we go camping maybe we’ll use it.

Anyway if you’re not a master of the AV world this will do you just fine.

This was purchased for to “beam in” International Teachers into our classroom. It was straight forward to set-up albeit with a tech savvy colleague! We found that the picture quality was great although blinds had to be drawn to get sufficient picture clarity – so that’s the reason for the slight mark down on Brightness. The picture quality is far more impressive in a darkened room but this is not practical for the students note taking. To have sufficient sound clarity for a classroom we linked the sound output to a speaker system, which wasn’t a problem.

Overall a very useful addition to our teaching tools and is an effective way to bring teachers from far away into our classroom.

This is my first projector purchase. I did not want to go for high end with high expectations to be disappointed, with so many reviews varying and depending on watching conditions. I love it! Its not exactly HD but I’m happy with the quality of the picture especially for the price. I could happily watch TV on it. Have used it to project onto the ceiling to watch TV in bed which was great, and it was bought for projecting pictures to go along with music in a care home concert. The screen is very flimsy and see through, but it could be useful if you have a patterned wall to project on. I’m not likely to use the screen. It is noisy, but for what I want it for its fine and we didn’t notice it while watching TV on it. It’s easy to plug in another speaker to it to improve the sound quality too.

For the price, this is an amazing device. There’s nothing really wrong with it. However I know one can get much more expensive projectors that are brighter and higher resolution. For the purpose of watching films and TV, however, though there’s nothing to write home about, there’s nothing to complain about either and one can get absorbed in the material without getting distracted by quality issues. I’d recommend this projector if keeping costs down is your priority.

The screen is usable, though I attached spars horizontally to the top and bottom edges so I could suspend it from the ceiling. Unless you stretch it a bit it gets a bit crinkled as it’s made from very light material. One can watch the screen from behind and there’s a nifty option on the projector to give a mirror image, so, if you have the space, you can watch it without tripping over the projector or getting in the way of the beam

I made the decision to buy a projector since we do not have a TV and sometimes want to watch movies on a bigger screen. After reading some reviews I decided to buy this projector which has thrown out our need to buy a big screen at all. It projects at such great quality – I saw the good reviews and bought it and after a year of use I can truly say it DOES NOT let you down! The sound quality is great too and the whole thing is super easy to set up for someone who isn’t tech savvy like me! This is a really good projector for the price and the picture quality is a lot better than I thought. I would not that there is not horizontal keystone but that is not an issue for the price. Comes with a screen and hooks as well. Connects to xbox, Ps4 and probably pc via HMDI or you can get an HMDI to lightening cable to connect toy your phone. Sound quality is fine for the price but if you’re using it every day a soundbar is a nice edition.

I was slightly worried due to the low price of this and that it included a screen too, but so pleased we bought this!
We use it in the snug room for the children to watch movies with their friends and for family movies.
We haven’t actually used the screen yet as the pic was great, even on a pale pink wall.
It would be worth buying a tripod, we already have one for a camera and it has made a difference, rather than balancing it on something,
If you play around with the settings you can get great quality.
Really pleased and such a great price!

Had originally been looking at getting a projector in the 400+/- range, but decided to pick up a cheap one first, mainly to see if I’d make use of it first before splashing out.

In short, it’s brilliant. Really easy to set up – take it out the box, plug it in, point it at the wall, turn lens until focused, done.

Has a built in media player so runs films easily from a microsd card. No built in WiFi or streaming apps, but plugged a NowTV stick into the hdmi and solved that problem.

Fan is audible, but not so much that it drowns out thehatever you’re watching, after a few minutes the fan sound was just background white noise that we got used to and stopped noticing. Sound from the speaker is ok, not anything wonderful but more than acceptable for what it is.

Display is bright and fairly clear, but trying to get a perfect focus is impossible unless the projector is perfectly straight on to the screen/wall. If, like ours, it’s sitting lower than the screen and projecting at a slight upwards angle, you can either focus the top half, middle, or bottom half. We’ve got ours to a slightly all-over gentle fuzz that’s fine for general viewing and only noticeable on any writing. Pretty sure if you use this on a higher shelf or a tripod this can be overcome more.

Overall though, great unit for the price, and to be honest, I can see us now just sticking with this as it’s ticked all the boxes I’d have wanted ticked by the 400 ones I’d looked at.

    Brilliant budget-price projecto

Obviously you’re not going to get an absolute beast of a projector for this price but it does the job and quite well. They claim a 1080p resolution which is an outright lie (i guess it’s 360, text is impossible to read) but you still roughly get the cinema experience. It’s designed to lie flat on the ground so that you can point it at the ceiling easily if you wish. The UI is a little gammy but workable, there is minimal tearing and the colours are okay. The most impressive thing is that there are absolutely no rainbows which is a problem for me with a lot of projectors. It’s a little loud but not too much of a problem. All in all a very good buy.

The projector arrived the next day. It was easy to set up. Really liked the white screen with it and the clips to hold it on to the wall. Fitted straight to the bedroom wall. I had a camera tripod and I easily fixed it to the projector. The lens rotator was a bit stiff. But it moved with a little force. Was careful not to break it. I connected my Google Chromecast and the projector was up and running in seconds. I had to adjust the colours and manually focus to get the best picture quality. However, once I got the right balance, it was nice to watch on such a large screen. My family absolutely loved it. Other positives were the three year warranty, although I took two years accidental break down for a tenner. It’s such a simple device, yet if it works over two years , I would have got every penny’s worth multiple times.

    Happy with the purchase.

This was a first venture into a home cinema and I didn’t want to spend too much. I browsed lots of different projectors of various prices and managed to confuse myself really well. So I checked the product reviews and picked this projector because a) it was a budget price and b) there were loads of positive reviews. I wasn’t expecting too much for the price, but what a surprise! This unit seems robust, and arrived well packaged and on promised delivery date. For a novice tekkie like me it is ideal. You literally plug in and it plays. What’s not to like? The factory settings are fine for my room, although there are plenty of controls if you want to adjust them. Yes there is a fan, but I didn’t notice it after a short time. One minor point though, the manual has obviously been translated from another language, and the text is a bit clunky, but as the projector played straightaway, the manual isn’t too important. All in all a happy customer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis compact projector, is not to be underestimated. It arrived on Saturday evening and I couldn’t contain my excitement. This newest addition to our extensive gadget collection pile, was originally supposed to be a Christmas present for our in laws, well that’s not going to happen now lol!! Straight out the box it was literally plug and play, it’s an all round multi media projector

The viewing quality is great and can be determined by several factors including ambient lighting, projection distance and input source. I found that ideally dark conditions and a projection size of 100 to 120 inches, hit the bullseye. Movies look wonderful( nearly overdosed on a box set) can’t comment on gaming as yet as I’ve not let my sons loose on it.

Let’s face it there’s nothing like watching or playing through a projector , after all it’s twice the size of my TV. Colors appear bright, vibrant and saturated while blacks aren’t quite as deep as a TV, but still acceptable.

If you want to use this for business presentations, the low native resolution isn’t great as viewing text through it isn’t that great.

I found that the volume doesn’t get very loud enough for my style and the quality is decent but not that impressive. Never fear, problem solved you’re given the option to easily upgrade the sound by plugging in external speakers. I plugged in an external speaker and problem solved.

The projector is very small and light. It can be easily transported in a suitcase or bag when travelling which I do often. It comes with a remote control, a HDMI cable, the power lead and an audio out cable for anyone wishing to link it to a surround sound system. For this price, I was really satisfied with the picture quality and overall build of the product. If you are looking for a inexpensive gift for a child who wants to play films or computer games on bigger screens or if you are a casual movie watcher I would recommend the product.

The first product came in defective and I was really a bit disappointed. The CS from Amazon that I spoke with the first time wasn’t really sure what to do, then I was told by another rep to contact the seller. The CS from the seller is AMAZING! They did an amazing job making things easier for me.

The product? It is as stated on the description, I love watching movies but I am not so fond of TV so I got this instesad. We usually have movie nights at home and having this projector just makes it more fun. You have an option to adjust the screen depending on your preference or you can choose from one of the presets. The only thing I noticed is the screen looks a bit slanted to one side but we can always to something about it as it does not affect use in a major way hence the 4 star. Overall, I would recomment as it is a good deal considering it’s price.

The photo does not do it justice, but I was really impressed with the quality of the projector. Now the fan is a little annoying, but the volume setting is so loud you forget about it. Took me a while to get through all the connections, and I really did not need the addtional screen as I have a massive white wall. Well worth the money, looking to buy a few as gifts.

When I bought this item I was concerned by the low price versus the potential quality of the goods and my first impressions are that this item has a reasonable balance between price and quality. The projector itself is easy to unpack and hook up to your source (PS3/4, Sky etc.) as long as they have outputs of either HDMI or RGB. It will also take a USB input and outputs via two 3.5mm jack plug sockets to either headphones or amp/speakers. The projector is bright enough for vurtually any needs although not good enough to use in bright daylight but which projector can beat that. The picture quality I go into a bit later and if you are a 4k/HD purist then you will see some fringing and drop off at the very edges of the image but for family viewing it is more than adequate. The screen supplied is a very stretchy semi opaque (nylon?) material which is virtually impossible to hang (as suggested) in a nice rectangular fashion. when you use the border grommets to hang it the fabric simply curves between each attachment due to its natural elasticity however if you actually stretch it until it is taut then the useable area of the screen is more than adequate to project an image of 7′ by 3′ 9″ or 213cm by 114cm. To put it another way, if you have a 50″ TV then this screen is 4 times the viewing area. The screen is semi opaque to allow for rear projection which the projector is designed to accomodate. This feature may be useful but if you project from the front and your screen is not flat on a wall anyone sitting off centre will see a “ghost” image as the projection bounce back off the wall behind. This of course can be overcome by dropping a sheet directly behind the screen so that it lies flush with the screen. So now onto the projector itself. Its casing is made of plastic and the whole unit is very light. It has a small adjustable front foot for raising the nose height of the projector and comes with a remote (batteries not included) for using it. I will write a follow up after a few months of usage but first impressions are; The focus adjustment handle which basically screws the lens in and out for focus is too jerky for fine focus use but the lens itself can be turned to far better effect. There is also an adjustment hadle for adjusting the tilt of the actual picture which works ok. The front adjustable foot is pretty poor and makes the projector a bit wobbly but there is a tripod mount screw in the base that I use with a cheap tripod and it’s perfect for adjusting up/down, right & left. I think the lens itself is made of plastic but this does not seem to have any significant effect on overall picture quality which is good and can be fine tuned via the projector menu. You will need to get into these adjustments as I found the factory defaults over bright and too shallow on the colour side but with a bit of playing you can get a nicely sharp HD image showing good colour. The good thing about these settings is they are kept as your user settings and only have to be done once. If you need to use the 3.5mm sockets on the side make sure that you use a very neat jack plug as I found the casing of the projector stops my 3.5mm jack from going fully in resulting in no sound via the headphones. I may need to cut away the shroud on my jack plug in order to use it. The projector only uses 50w when running as it’s light is LED (less heat too) and the fan, whilst you can hear it, is very quiet and non intrusive. I read some reviews saying the the built in speaker was very good but I have to disagree. It’s small and a bit tinny sounding but fine if you simply need to watch the news on your office, hotel room, living room wall however It’s totally inadequate if the family wants to sit down and watch the latest blockbuster. If that’s your need then I would suggest that you require your source to go to either a soundbar or surround sound system independant of the projector and then you will fully enjoy this product. I have not tried to use the AV 3.5mm socket put take the sound feed from the projector but as this would only be stereo i’ll probably not use that option. I took out the 2 year warranty (extra) on this and I will update this review once I’ve had a few months of use. In the meantime I’m watching HD movies in my living room that are seven feet wide – not bad for less than 70.
UPDATE – Ok so I’ve been using this now for a number of months and it still works fine. Fan has not become noisier, Internal speaker still works (useless for most viewing needs however) and overall I’m quite pleased with the machine….however. I use compressed air to regularly blow the dust out of the projector but there is a visible accumulation of dust particles on the right hand side of the screen that persists. This causes a darkening on that side but it is still useable for movies etc. You can open up the unit and it’s relatively easy to clean the mirror, magnifier and lens (both ends) but this has not cured the problem. I’m beginning to think that this dust is baked on to the LED source or perhaps a primary lens that you cannot clean. If it gets worse then it will become a significant issue for quality of viewing and despite many internet searches I cannot find any references to this issue.

Not having a television it was getting inconvenient to huddle around a laptop screen to watch family movies. We initially bought a very expensive Sony short-throw projector which failed spectacularly to connect to anything. We came across the DR.Q projector and hoped for the best. We are so happy to report it works very well. We connect it to our laptop and can watch Netflix/Amazon movies within seconds. If you are used to a TV screen, the image might not be as good. However we’ve never had a TV and this projector definitively beats watching from a 13inch laptop screen. We project onto a blackout roller blind attached to the ceiling.

To be honest I didn’t expect much for the price and have heard so much about fake Amazon reviews. I carefully unpackaged the projector fully expecting I’d need to retain all the boxes and packaging for the return.

However plugged in and set-up within seconds. Picture quality is fine even with ambient light. The hardest part was getting my chromecast to reset to the correct wifi.

Only niggle is that the power cord is far too short, so I ordered a longer one, and it could do with adjustable feet for it to sit slightly higher on the table.

Aside from that I’m pleased with the purchase and have already recommended to several friends.

Brilliant little projector, capable of a massive image that covers the whole wall. Not quite bright enough to use in day time unless you’re using black out blinds/curtains but perfect for a film in the evening.

The picture settings do need to be changed when viewing different content as the brightness and colour can vary massively. I noticed the fan is quite noisy although I haven’t seen anyone else complain about it. It’s fine when watching standard TV or playing games but I found it a bit distracting during quiet scenes in films.

Overall I’m really happy with the projector at that price point. For films and casual gaming, it’s a good buy. I’ll probably replace the fan on mine at some point but for now it’s only a minor annoyance.

Golden Review Award: 151 From Our UsersThis is a great projector! I was fortunate enough to get it on a Lightning Deal for 50.99 instead of the usual 59.99 so I was well pleased. It came using Royal Mail 48H Tracked and was well packaged. Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised to find everything you’d need to get started EXCEPT batteries for the remote. For me it’s not a biggy, as I tend to use my own rechargeable batteries for everything anyway. Just to make you aware if you’re considering purchasing.

If you’ve used an Android type Kodi box then you’ll be familiar with the remote. It’s exactly the same. From my initial set up and testing, it seems you need the remote to control the volume. I may be wrong, but I couldn’t see anything on the projector to act as a volume control. Again, for me, not a problem. I connected my new projector to a Blackberry Playbook with a load of movies I’ve watched over the years and selected HDMI. There’s other settings for PC, VGA, TF card, that sort of stuff but this worked fine for me. Sound was pretty good from the inbuilt speakers, although when I set it up fully I will probably plug is my old USB speakers and trail them down the back of the sofa. The power lead was a decent length, which proves a bit of thought goes into what’s going in the box. It looks as if there’s an incentive to leave good 5* reviews if you’re happy. I won’t say much more. You’ll have to buy the projector to see what that incentive is!

Correcting the angle on the wall (keystone) works well, as does the overall viewing experience. I was initially concerned about what I thought would be a noisy fan but DON’T BE. Literally when I put my movie on I couldn’t hear the fan over the inbuilt speakers. I was immersed in the beginning of Beverly Hills Cop 2 as you can see from my initial screenshot! I will upload pictures of unboxing and so on, but I wanted to demonstrate that this was opened and up and running with no faffing about in literally 2 minutes! If you want to treat yourself to a cinema like experience for very little money then I recommend the DR.Q HI-04 mini projector. Great for the up and coming long Winter Nights! 5* Product. 5* Seller!

Like the cinema, but without the expense! Go Buy some Pop Corn!

Good quality for the price; and has been performing beyond my expectations when used at home to watch shows. The speaker is loud and the projector itself doesn’t make a lot of noise when operating so we were able to hear everything loud and clear!
However, I also bought this as I was going to paint a mural and wanted to project the illustration onto the wall to trace, but it’s not HD so it’s pretty pixelated when you’re up close; still good for the price though!

Value for money! Great for movie nights.

This is much better quality than I expected. Really easy to use and set up. compact size means its easy to move around the house and take with me. I love tennis, and have been frustrated watching it on my tablet/computer – now I have a big screen experience! I’m not a techie so can’t comment on that side but my brother-in-law who is, says it’s really good value for money for the quality of the picture …..

Im not a techie, however this projector is brilliant. I use it in the second bedroom against a white wall. Best results in dark (night time or blinds down). The sound is perfect. I connect my apple tv to it and all works fine. I have also connected my laptop, and its ok as well, screen mirroring of screen or PPt is good.

Perfect second device for the house and well worth it. Only criticism, no bag.

It is not the best product out there but for the price of the projector, it does the job particularly well so I would recommend it. I bought the projector for fun so I am very impressed with how easy it us to set up and how the cables I needed are all included in the box which saves me the hassle of digging out or buying cables to connect to it. I also like the fact that it is small/compact so it doesn’t take up a lot space when I store it away somewhere when I’m not using it and I can take it to other places with me if I want to. The only problem I have is that the power cable is shorter than I expected so I will need to buy a longer one, but aside from that, it is a good product.

Just had chance to have a quick play with it and these are my thoughts.
Firstly, lets not forget its 60. And put right the mistake most people make when getting a projector.
Many projectors, several hundreds or even thousands of pounds produce what i would expect to be perfect HD or these days 4K images. Projectors at 60 are not HD, and many people dont seem to understand the TV screen pixel size thing! These projectors will ACCEPT inputs of HD 1080, which means you can put INTO it high quality video/dvd, but the output is less than this, usually around the 480-800.
(You wouldn’t expect to get a mini to run like a Ferrari, just because you’re putting the same fuel in it!!)
The quality is therefore only as good as the projector and in this case, the quality is pretty good. The projector is very quiet and you dont have to have the sound up load to not even hear the fan. The remote is simple and easy to use. The projector itself is nice and small, smaller than it appears on the images to sell it. It comes with a pretty good instruction book and all the leads (HDMI etc) that you will need.
All in all so far, i am really pleased with it.
So in brief, if you’re expecting full HD and surround sound to compete with Cineworld, then you need to spend more money. If you want an easy to set up, compact, projector for family entertainment at very little cost, you wont go wrong with this.

The stars submitted here are for value for money.
We used it in coalition with my xbox one s as a makeshift TV whilst on holiday.
It wont blow your minds with super hi res pictures but for the price tag of sixty pounds was great fun and value.
We used it for games and was adequate a little lag, I mean little, but was fine.
Movies were again easily watchable and without too much pixelation (we had it approx 13ft from wall the picture was huge and perfectly “watchable”).
And we used it outside for Movie nights on a white tarp and held up pretty well, most of the family thought it was Brill, was only the geeks like me and my brother that were picking it up for its shortfalls.
All in all we have used this to death this summer and has been money weel spent.
Great little travel projector for watching Movies and TV shows.
    Well done Dr Q.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersWe were looking for an easily portable projector to use in my history class project images of maps, pictures etc. to illustrate the talks. As it is run on a voluntary basis our budget was fairly limited. We were delighted to find a projector with such a good spec. at such a reasonable price. We haven’t been able to test it out in the church hall yet as we only meet every 2 weeks. However a dummy run in our lounge has been very impressive. My husband thinks that it more than lived up to its spec. and worked well, even in a semi dark room. He also liked being able to mount it on a tripod. He found the enclosed Q&A leaflet most helpful.
For the .money it compared well with much more expensive items.

This bargain lcd projector is worth the money putting out a good image . I bought it for 47 with the voucher code so won’t complain to much : ) . Its far from perfect though.First off for the average person it displays a worthy image ( more in the realms of dvd quality) to enjoy your films on but somehow struggles to display scenes with sharp detail. I.e upscaling blu ray hi def to a clean and clear image. the picture at times looks washed out and flat but then again this is me comparing it to a full hd tv so not to worry. I have used it on a 100inch projector screen in a small room and not tried out the custom settings yet which doesnt help lol. Still early days. So if your on a tight budget and not a fussy technophile this projector is worth buying. Great for the occasional movies and sports events. Invest in something better if your building a proper home cinema.

The projector looked better than I thought it would. I had expected a flimsy product due to the price point but it actually looks like a good quality piece of hardware.

The image quality, as mentioned by other reviewers, is very good. I only watch things in fairly dim light and it was very clear. Don’t have the opportunity to watch anything during the daytime to test it.

With the 20% discount it was a very good bargain.

Purchased this product for occasional movie night in the loft but didn’t want to spend money on a costly projector. I was fearful that, at this price point, the projector would not be up to much. Having read the 5* reviews I took the plunge and I am not disappointed. Easy to set up and instructions are clear. Operation is intuitive so you will not have to keep reaching for the manual. Useful remote control although you will need to purchase 2 x AAA batteries separately. Image quality is good in a darkened room. Sound is fine but vastly improved running through external speakers. Fan noise is moderate but easily drowned out by film sound that does not need to be jacked up. Connection options are great. Overall a great little package. Would highly recommend if this isn’t going to be your main entertainment source or you are a tech head looking for super high definition.

we wanted to set up a small outdoor screen for a garden cinema experience. in short this projector was perfect for that. Attached is a pic of our setup.
We bought a white cloth screen to project on and used a portable speaker (plugged in via the built in 3.5mm jack port) to enhance the audio. We connected using a Chromecast into the HDMI on the projector and from there used our phones to control all the content.
After that it was as simple as getting cosy under some blankets and setting back to watch whatever we wanted. The picture quality was the top end of what you would expect from a DIY setup. It obviously didn’t look like being in a professional cinema or a bright as watching on a TV but we never felt distracted by the quality and completely forgot we were watching on a projector once we started the screening.
As you can see its pretty much dusk when we had it running. This is not going to work during the day but late evening it was more than watchable. We were about an hour into what we were watching at this point.
We did initially set it up inside during the day (about 3pm) and with the curtains closed it was great. During the initial set up we used it with the built in speaker and it seemed inline with a decent speaker.
We are very happy with the purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking to watch films or project games as it will just plain work for that without issue

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersWow. What a surprise. I read a lot of the 5* reviews and was a bit sceptical. But having bought one, I can understand the positive feedback. This is a surprisingly good projector, with a good picture quality. It’ll link to Android phones by means of a Chromecast dongle (30). After that, you can stream prime, iplayer, Netflix, vlc, all to the projector, without having to connect anything.

The downsides are the iffy sound quality (but it’ll link to external speaker through headphone cable) and the clunky menu, which isn’t the clearest. But other than this, very good

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersThis was bought as a Christmas gift for a relative.

For the price we were not expecting a home cinema quality projector, but something simple, compact and suitable for basic presentations which is exactly what we got. It struggles a little in a brightly lit room, so it is best to use with blinds/curtains drawn and lights off. The resolution is not HD but more like 480p. It accepts input from a Windows and Mac laptop without issue.

If you’re looking for a cheap and simple projector for the occasional presentation or to do a basic home cinema for the kids, then this is a very good option.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe’ve just received this (and had a play with it) and I am so impressed with this little projector for the price. My husband is doing a few talks and decided that he wanted to use Powerpoint, so this is going to be so useful – better than hiring one and then having to figure them out just beforehand.

I bought one years ago and it was a lot more expensive than this one. It is also small enough to be carried easily and it goes on to my camera tripod, so no need to have to use a table. We also used it to look up a few Youtube videos and the quality is very good. A brilliant piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersFirst of all, the projector (at least when I bought it) costs around 55. You aren’t buying a 4K cinema level projector, and shouldn’t go into the purchase expecting that level of picture quality. Assuming that you aren’t expecting to open up a cinema in your bedroom, you’re going to be very happy with this purchase.

The unit itself is a handy size – about the size of a box of kleenex tissues. It is very light, which makes it easy to use, particularly with a small tripod/grip stand.

Personally, I purchased a ‘Gorillapod 3k’ style camera mount to use with this product, and it works perfectly. The gorillapod lets you mount the projector onto unusual surfaces (such as by attaching to a wooden bar or metal pole) rather than requiring a solid flat surface to set it on, so I’d highly reccomend something along those lines. In my case, this meant that I could mount the projector by wrapping the Gorillapod around the headboard of a bed, keeping it out of the way as I watch movies.

As for the projector itself, it provides a good picture. Whilst you should ignore the lumen rating in the listing (these are the typical ‘chinese marketing lumens’), I found it to produce a bright, vibrant result, particularly in a dimly lit room. It was totally enjoyable at the distances I needed (around 3-4 meters from screen).

The only problem that I have found with this unit is that the screen size can only be reduced down to 75%. This does somewhat limit the distance at which the projector needs to be from the screen if you need to project onto a defined size of screen. For me, using it to project movies in a bedroom, that meant either setting the projector on the bed (rather than mounting it on the headboard), or accepting that a small part of the display wouldn’t fit onto the screen that I was using. This is something you’ll have to play around with and probably figure out in practice.

My recommendation would be to pair the projector up with something like a Fire Stick/Chromecast to make your life easier.

All things considered, I would highly reccomend this for anyone that wants to project a few movies for fun at home. If you’re looking for a TV replacement, this would work well if you only watch TV in dark/dim rooms. If you’re opening up a Cinema, then you should really be looking at a higher budget level.

Before I write my review, this is my first time buying a projector & I don’t know a great deal about them.

At first I wasn’t so sure about it, with the price I didn’t know what to expect. So I’ll break this down into experiences.

Opening the box: it was a bit smaller than expected, but that’s probably a pro. It also comes with the wires you need (hdmi cable etc.) which I didn’t expect to be included.

Setting up: I had to put a lot of thought into where I was going to set this up in my space. I experimented a little in almost every room against every colour (I don’t have a projector screen yet but have ordered one). Obviously I opted for the larger screen size & took over my white wall… the image appeared almost distorted at first, but after playing around with all the settings for about 15m I got it looking pretty great, there’s a lot of personalisation settings you can change to get the picture looking how you’d expect.

Overall it’s a good product, especially for the price. It works & I now have a 120 inch tv in my room! Awesome!
I’ve been using it to play on fortnite and will be having movie nights soo

    Exceeded expectations

Projector works straight out of the box.
I adjusted the picture settings to my liking (there are many options) and they remain the default.
I tested using the in built usb port and it works well, but I primarily use it connected to my macbook where it is essentially an external monitor where I can watch full screen video. For this reason I hardly use the remote control except to power it on or off.
I have also connected a wireless airplay dongle and that is the current preferred set up.
It is powerful enough to watch with the curtains closed during the day but it’s best in a completely dark room.
It is approx 7ft away from the wall and makes a roughly 5ft wide picture perfectly in focus.
I use the projector pointed slightly down and there is a built in correction for the angle that has made it possible to get the perfect height on the wall without looking warped.
Overall it’s great and I’d recommend it.

    Product arrived well.
    Was amazon refurbished.
picture quality is decent in a dark room.
My projector’s tilt stone came loose in 5 hours of usage …and now moves to either of the ends…now fixed with glue tack.

Contacted seller for refund..they said its sold by amazon so they cant refund.
so would be returning to amazon.

Didn’t expect much from a projector at this price…but very good for its price bracket..
contacted customer suppor they provided an alternate solution.
    Thank you for the resolutio

We use this for two different bedroom walls. Projects well big (7ft) or Small (3ft) depending on distance from wall. We find the picture quality is good for amazon prime and Netflix etc. Not for PC/ text. The focus seems to not get the entire projection spot on but if you fiddle with it you can get a balanced amount of focus. Couldn’t seem to get keystone correction to work at all – dial not responsive but can easily adjust keystone by propping the projector up slightly.
Fan is quite loud but doesn’t really interrupt the good speakers built in. We hooked up to Bose speaker which worked well. Could do with a carry case and lens cap for when not in use.
Kids love it – home cinema! Overall great value for money and worth the purchase.

Well I wasn’t expecting alot for the price but it quite surprised me on the quality of picture. Good brightness and good colours on an 84 inch screen.
I’ve given it 5 for durability because the grand daughter tripped over the wire only to send it crashing to the floor from a 2 foot high stool yet it still works great.

Superb projector, easily connected to my iPad with the correct lead (purchased separately) and was up and running in minutes
The picture quality very good even though the room wasn’t in complete darkness.
Husband very impressed and looking forward to watching some videos on the big screen
It will be also very a good tool to project images onto the wall for artwork, as a designer I will find this very useful and portable too
Happily recommend projector and delighted with my purchase, great value for money

Golden Review Award: 89 From Our UsersA great projector at a great price. Highly recommended for a budget home cinema. Works great with any hdmi source such as ps4, dvd, laptop, xbox, fire stick when in a darkened room. Easy to use remote and easy to change settings, volume, image orientation etc. Also accepts USB sticks with movies and photos. A good collection of formats are able to be played back without any issues.
Fan noise is audible but built in speaker is nice and loud, plus it has a headphone socket. Comes with UK power lead, hdmi cable and a/v phono connector.
Communication from seller is fantastic and any issues or advice is answered and sorted out very quickly.
Would highly recommend ordering from this seller and have full confidence in them. My projector developed a fault within the first year so emailed seller informing them. Email received from them within a few hours with apologies and advice. A couple of photos of the problem sent back and a new projector arrived a few days later. Fantastic service from all involved especially Anna who sorted the problem out so quickly and efficiently.
Great stuff and exactly how online shopping should operate.
Give this great little projector a try. I’m sure you will like it and be extremely surprised at its quality at such a great price.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersI will start by stating I am not an expert so was not going for anything high spec/techy. For the price this is a great product with a cinematic picture. It took me ages to set up and I didn’t find the instructions easy, however reading through previous reviews I eventually found my answers. I use it hooked up to a USB stick for presentations and it works a treat and I use it with amazon fire stick and even hook it up to my iPad. was a bit fiddly to set up had to purchase a few additional leads for compatibility with amazon products but well worth it. I read other reviews and once you have adjusted with a lot of trial and error the picture settings you will be very pleased with the results. Picture quality is obviously rubbish in day light and ok with curtains drawn and daylight outside, best in darkness and still great with very low lighting. The projector sound is loud however I don’t seem to notice it once the film is on and we get going.
Please don’t be put off with the negative reviews its is obviously not the top of the range at this price however for what it is and the price it really is a bargain!! And I was not incentivised to write this review.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a compatible tripod and carry bag for this product please.

I bought this projector for the girlfriend at Christmas so she wasn’t using a tiny 32″ tv in comparison to 120″ projection this is cable of (and more). I personally own a projector at the other end of the scale, 4K HDR, 7.1 Dolby Atmos sound system and a screen. Comparing the two together is like chalk and cheese but what I would say, is that this DR.Q projector does an incredible job for the price point. She’s super happy with it and she’s usually watching films with me on my setup and she says it doesn’t matter to her as the experience is just as fun.

You can’t use this to browse the web or read web pages because the text is unreadable and not sharp enough. I knew this from reading reviews but the mrs has it setup with a chromecast in the back and she casts whatever she needs to from her phone or PC, so reading text doesn’t matter.

In a nutshell… buy this if you want to use it for a games console or movies / tv but don’t expect to surf the web on it. I was impressed at the picture quality for the price… yes there’s screen door effect there because the resolution is so low but that really doesn’t matter when you’re watching something… it’s a bit like HTC Vive or Oculus virtual reality, you can see the screen door effect on them too and they’re not cheap but when you’re stood there in a VR environment, it takes about 30 seconds for your brain to block it out and you don’t even notice.

I was really hesitant about buying this, I thought it would be pure garbage and I was about to spend 350 on an entry level Optoma or Epson projector but I’m glad I tried this first as it does the job.

The speakers suck a bit but hook some external ones up to it and that’s easily solved.

Update used daily for between 1 to 10 hours mainly for gaming/ youtube .Noisier than when first started using it but can’t hear when using headphones even with it being next to me(,don’t have sound high so I can hear doorbell).Doesn’t get very warm even when used continually for 12hours.

Only had it a day and so far very impressed. Exceeded my expectations. I am using with my Firestick, the picture is clear and bright. In my small room 1.5m gives 60″ screen on wall. In living room it is huge, feels like a cinema. Sound is added bonus.

Only complaint would be fan is a bit loud, but it does keep the unit cool as its never been hot to touch after use.

For the price I highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersNot having any experience with projectors and not being a ‘techie’ I was rather lost which to buy. I don’t have a tv but wanted to play dvd’s etc on a bigger screen. I decided on this projector and got it at a deal price – I am surprised at the picture quality for a low price projector, its very good and the audio is sufficient for a small sized room but has the ability to plug in exterior speakers. I also purchased a fire stick and had no problem setting that up directly through the projector. I have also ordered a projector screen, the wall i’m using at the moment to project is a soft jade colour yet the picture quality is good so on a nice white screen i’m expecting a better picture. The projector is well made, compact and light. If there is a down side it is a lack of lens cover. For the price, and this should always be taken into consideration, this is very good and I would recommend to someone looking for a first time budget projector.

This is my first projector so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The first thing you notice when you unbox is just how small it is – about the size of two nintendo wii’s stacked on top of each other, but not as heavy -making it super portable. Its very easy to set up, just plug and play. Using the USB some of the files didn’t work. I found it worked much better playing from a laptop via the HDMI. There are some preset picture settings, however I preferred making my own user settings which is easy to work out.

The fan noise is not too bad, you can’t really notice it above the speakers until there is no sound on whatever you are watching. The built in speakers are decent but don’t really have any bass to speak of, but are more than adequate given that there is an audio out that I have yet to try. Obviously the farther back you have the projector the bigger the image but you also start to loose picture quality. It works best at about 8 ft away giving roughly 100″. I have only used this on the wall so far, I have ordered a proper screen as I think this will make a a big difference. For best results you really do need a very dark room.

I watch a lot of movies, averaging one a day – I reckon I’ll end up using this quite a bit. Dont expect 1080p, but for for the price I don’t think you can beat this projector.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersWell I was sceptical. I saw tech reviews after I ordered this projector and then thought: what have I done? Well, now I know. Do I regret it? I watched a classic Bette Davis in black and white with a sound bar attached through an optic cable through my PS4. The result? It’s great. It does feel like home cinema for 60 quid. Hard to believe. You need to mess with the settings to get a good picture. The image is projected onto a spandex portable screen for 20 pounds. So, with the stand, the whole thing comes in at just over 100. For the money, it’s a stunning budget level entry to home cinema. You need a dark room and it’s not going to stand up in daylight. I had a look at the Lord of the Rings. The pictures was from Blu-ray and a bit fuzzy in some detail but on the whole very acceptable. Colours were good. Motion blur no issue. I played Assassins Creed Odyssey. Great too. Not the quality of HD television but nevertheless for a big screen experience – 5 ft widescreen at about 3 metres from projector to screen – it’s good enough. I tried my Amazon firestick directly into the hdmi slot and that, too, is good. So my reservations are : sound is not great, a sound bar improves things; you need a dark room; probably won’t be brilliant in daytime without curtain drawn at least. I’ve had it for a few hours. Will it hold up to regular use? I’ll repost if there are problems hence my low durability score because, at this stage, I simply don’t know. Underneath the projector is a thread that will take a camera tripod. The build is what you’d expect – minimal functions but I’m not paying out hundreds of pounds. I’m pleasantly surprised.

    Can this possibly work?

I got the product to project Halloween decorations on the curtains – worked fantastically, neighbourhood kids loved it. Just to set the correct expectations – this is an extremely cheap projector and it’s not suited to be used in anything but (almost) total darkness. Not suitable for meeting rooms or watching anything during the day. But for the money spent it’s brilliant – it can play all sorts of stuff directly via USB, no link to a computer is needed. It has a remote control and everything. Highly recommend it for DYI projects, for kids watching cartoons in a home-made cinema or other amateur usages. Also works well for outdoors TV watching, during the night when there is no light.

Golden Review Award: 150 From Our UsersI have never written a review before but I feel I have to for this item because it’s that good. Straight out of the box it feels like a quality product. Set is easy and straightforward, and I was sat on my sofa watching a movie within minutes. I am using an Amazon fire stick which I simply plugged into the HDMI socket. The look on my daughter’s faces when they returned from school to see “Elf” playing in all its glory was worth the money alone! The picture quality is impressive and much better than I was expecting as this price. Its difficult to justify spending hundreds of pounds when this fulfills all my requirements. I was a bit concerned that the fan would be noisy and the sound quality of the speakers would be a problem, but how wrong could I be. The fan noise is more than acceptable and not noticeable above the loud and clear speakers. Christmas movie nights have now been taken to another level!

    Movie night just got super-sized!

It looks well made and is not bulky or heavy. We tested the projector and I was amazed at the picture quality and sound. The picture quality is fine for in a small space at night – I had to turn all the lights off to get a decent image, although the colour still isn’t amazing. It’s not the quietest, especially if you are going to play sound through the speakers of the projector (which it will default to), and it does get hot. But you get what you pay for and this is a very reasonably priced projector that works just fine!
I use mine with a Anycast wireless dongle so I don’t have to deal with cables everywhere and adapters for plugging into my macbook (there aren’t that many output options from the projector).

For what you pay, I cannot fault this projector.
In a blacked out conservatory, with the projector set at recommended distance from screen, watching the 2018 FIFA World Cup, it was brilliant.
Unit a bit noisy but if program sound turned up and with the unit not right in your ear, you won’t notice it.
I plugged the unit into an external speaker system – perfect sound.
Picture quality is good too. I was surprised at how good it was.
Obviously, the darker the surroundings the better the picture. I’ve only used it in near complete darkness.
    Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the price, this is an amazing projector. It is perfect for movie nights, gaming and connecting laptops/devices whatever you want basically! I would recommend using a speaker (connected through 3.5mm jack to jack cable or bluetooth to the original device) as the sound of the unit itself can be drowned out by the overall noise. However, other than that, I have no complaints. At its largest size, the picture is good but not HD. Nevertheless, good luck finding a projector below 300 quid that will guarantee you a good HD picture at that output.
Take the plunge, you won’t regret it!

Have used expensive Sony/BenQ in the past. For the price I was very happy. Bought mainly for out door use … worked surprisingly well on a flat bed-sheet on the wall – tho do need to wait till proper sundown for it to be dark enough.

So far only used a few times – again outdoor – but so far a great wee projector … perfect with memory stick playback and so far via my firetv stick.

Sound from the unit itself – as commented alreay – is adequate, but have almost exclusively used external speakers with it.

Golden Review Award: 226 From Our UsersAfter wanting a projector for some time and spending countless hours reviewing different ones, being both confused and put off by the massive difference in prices. I finally made the decision not to invest 1000s of pounds on a top of the range model and settled for one with good reviews and at this price i wasn’t expecting much, ‘you get what you pay for and all that’. But all i can say is i was more than impressed with this little fella, i was envisaging sitting in a blacked out room, squinting at faint image in the dead of night. Can be a bit noisy if you use in on something solid like a chest of drawers, but just add some soft stuff underneath, and you will barely hear the noise. The more you move it away from the wall/surface the worse is the resolution, but makes sense.

    So listen up:
1 keep it on a soft surface
2 Don’t use it too far from the wall
3 play around with the options you have and you will be able to increase the quality of the video

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust to let people know, I use my projector in work accommodation which isn’t too different to college dorms. I mainly use it for movies/netflix from my laptop and gaming. So I cannot vouch for business or presentation applications.

    First the positives.

The projector is simple to use, doesn’t generate much heat and the picture is pretty good for a low-end projector. The construction is far more solid than I was expecting and was rather pleased with the presentation. The speakers are surprisingly good, with a clear sound that doesn’t peak at higher volumes like my other low-end projector.

    The cons.

The fan is louder than advertised, that being said it is not deafening and generally if you’re watching a movie you don’t notice it. The picture is certainly not 1800 lumens, I would say 180, maybe. It can be viewed in darkness or low light, but definitely not with the lights on. And the focus, if you use the keystone at all, blurs out towards the edges. Which, is fine for a movie, but I wouldn’t recommend for business presentations as it would make text difficult to read.

Golden Review Award: 366 From Our UsersFirst things first – this isn’t a full HD projector. If you care deeply about not seeing the pixel grid when you stand close to the screen, this isn’t for you. I work as an animator and filmmaker, so spend my working life tweaking and colour correcting video. My previous projector was a 10 year old pico projector with 30 lumens of brightness. The only reason I upgraded it, was because it was difficult to see dark scenes, even witht the curtains drawn, on sunny days. And that it sometimes didn’t work when running it off my iPad. You might think why would some one who cares about image put up with such a poor spec machine. The truth is that I found that for movie nights having a big, colourful image and great sound was far more important than a true HD image. Friends and family tended to praise the image of the little pico projector, so with the higher specs of DR.Q I didn’t see any need to spend more.

Initial thoughts – when plugging this projector in, via HDMI, for the first time I was really disappointed. So disappointed that I was carefully collecting up all the bits and putting them back in the box to return it. My main problem was that the picture although sharp and very bright, was charmless – washed out and over sharpened to the point of ugliness.

So why 5 stars? Well the next day I set it up again and spent the afternoon going through the settings. The more I worked with this machine the more liked it. There has been a huge amount of thought and care that has gone into this projector. Firstly the remote is excellent. What isn’t advertised so that on the remote is a button for digital zoom, very useful if (like me) you have a limited space to use this projector in. Secondly you can tweak virtually everything about the image to suit your taste. This transforms the projector into a totally different machine.

Settings – here are the settings I found gave the most filmic image:

    Picture style – Personal setting
    Contrast 46
Brightness 40 – 46 (change this depending on the film, if its a dark film you might want to make the image brighter)
    Colour. 80
Sharpness 20 – most important to change
    Tint 58

    Colour Temp settings
    Red 51
    Green 78
    Blue 40

Fan noise – projectors and fan noise go hand in hand, as bright bulbs generate heat so you are always going to have a fan whirring. This fan noise isn’t a problem, I din’t notice it when the film was playing.

Sound – run the sound directly from your computer/ iPad. With HDMI – put the HDMI cable in first, then plug in the lead to your speaker directly from your computer. If you plug in your sound first then plug in the HDMI, it will play the sound out of the projector. Playing sound from the projector headphone socket lowers the quality, so make sure to plug in your audio directly from the computer/iPad.

Conclusion – An excellent machine. My reason for choosing this over similar rival projectors was that it offered twice the contrast, I wasn’t expecting it to be so well thought out. Image is extremely sharp, colourful and bright. The remote is a huge plus and works great. You have digital zoom, that I’ve only seen previously on more expensive projectors. Focusing is easy and the leads fit very securely into the unit. Everything that needs to work well, does so. Lastly the tripod screw on the base is perfectly positioned for balance. All in all 5 stars.
