Dry:Soon 3 Tier Heated Indoor Clothes Aire

If you get fed up with the sight of smalls draped over your radiators, or having your living space taken over by conventional airers for days at a time, a Dry:Soon heated airer is the answer.

This 3-Tier Standard Heated Airer offers 21m of drying space, holding 15kg of laundry, on a light aluminium frame and will dry your clothes much more quickly than an unheated tower airer. With thermostatically-controlled bars that won’t overheat, it’s also a lot kinder to your clothes than running a tumble dryer. And when you don’t have laundry to dry you can fold your electric airer down to only 8cm deep for flat storage.

Accessories available separately include: 3-Tier Standard Heated Airer Cover to keep the heat in and speed up drying, which also doubles as a storage bag for the folded airer; and the Mesh Shelf Duo, a pair of mesh shelves for laying delicate and smaller items flat rather than hanging them over the bars.

About Dry:Soon Heated Airers

Economical

Our heated airers cost just pennies an hour to run. They’re also much kinder to clothes than tumble drying and neater and more efficient than laying laundry over your radiators.

Versatile

Convenient

Made from light yet robust aluminium, Dry:Soon airers are easy to move around and fold down to 9cm or less deep for storage, ready to be pressed into action throughout the winter months, or whenever the weather isn’t cooperating.

After 6 months use, we are very satisfied with our first heated drying rack. It speeds up the drying process and is much kinder on our clothes (and energy usage) than a tumble drier. If you invest in the fabric cover for this model, it looks much neater in the room (hiding the clothes inside).
My only criticism is that it feels a bit wobbly / unstable; that said – it has never fallen over. I just have to be a bit gentle when hanging clothes on it.

Have bought it to use in our flat especially in the winter time when clothes takes ages to dry and my wife loved it , she said its brilliant and doesn’t take much space compared with the old one that we had , easy to fold and use , at least it halfed the time of drying clothes using just dehumidifier.

Despite it not being as tall as our previous airer (which wasn’t heated), the size of it and the number of bars actually provides a larger surface area so we can actually get more clothes on it. I only wish it was a bit taller with a larger distance between the levels of bars so that some of the bigger clothes would have a bit more space. A minor moan…

The bars heat up well but not too hot, meaning that is is safe around my kids and my dog. It is easy to set up and to fild back to nothing. Overall, for the price, I do recommend it. It is effectively getting our clothes dry quicker.

    Very good

The product really helps get out clothes dry in a house where it seems to take days otherwise. However, a lack of a timer is such an obvious design flaw. There have been several times where I have forgotten to shut off the rack, resulting in so much wasted energy as it stayed heated for a day too long. Before the current energy crisis, their own marketing claimed that it cost 6p per hour to run. Well, if there is no timer and you forget – you’re just wasting money and energy – and it now will cost more than 6p per hour.

This is brilliant as it takes sup less space than our previous airer but fits twice as much washing. With the cover and the heat on it dries so fast! Only slight issue is if its in the corner or a room it’s quite fiddly to reach in to all 3 layers to hang washing out.

Does exactly what it should. Holds a decent amount of washing, although it isn’t as sturdy as I would expect for the price tag, however I suppose there is only so much you can do when something is so easy to put up and take down…

I like that with this product there is a timer so you can state that, for example, in 3 hrs I want the heat to come on for 4 hrs. Or this can just be on all the time. I bought this for my dad’s house. He has incontinence and there is a lot of bedding to be laundered. During the winter months it’s been great to use this product to keep on top of his laundry needs.

I liked this so much that I recommended it to my sister in law. She loves it. She and my brother and their teenager live in an apartment. And they have more laundry than they can keep on top of. Most of the laundry is their teenager’s. They’ve found this product really helpful.

Some people say that a good tumble dryer is better but not everyone has space for a dryer. So this alternative is perfect!

An absolute ‘must’ to end those winter drying woes..
Very well designed and manufactured, flexible to laundry size (use just 1/2 if you have a small load to dry), easy to assemble, dries laundry very effectively (definitely suggest getting the dedicated cover too – which speeds up drying time); what’s not to like ?!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOK it’s good. I get the feeling it needs it’s cover. I lost my heating and bought one of these to tide me over. It sits next to a reasonable dehumidifier. My clothing smells of damp. It shrinks my tshirts. It works better now that the heating is back but I have to lie to my thermostat for heating to come on. If only I’d waited a few more days I wouldn’t have bothered. I’m also fairly sure that if I hadn’t gotten my heating back so soon I would have bought the cover. It would have worked better. No doubt.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI love this airer and wouldn’t want to be without one.

We moved into a beautiful new home 12 yrs ago. Unfortunately there is literally no-where we can fit a tumble dryer.

My mum bought my 1st one for us, from Lakeland, in 2011. It lasted 10 years and finally broke from stress on the power cable. I bought another straight away. An unexpected expense, but a very necessary one for us.

We throw a spare king sized fitted bed sheet over the top which approximately half’s the drying time. How long things take to dry depends on how much you put on it, and how thick the materials are. But it can hold a lot, I guess up to 20kgs or so at a push, but then will obviously maybe 18-24 hrs or so until really dry, but that’s 2 large loads of washing! One medium load takes nearer 6-9 hrs.

Hope this helps people considering this item

This is a good solid product that does what it says on the tin. It is quite lightweight and can be carried easily enough folded up. It literally takes a few seconds to unfold it and set it up ready to use. I am a bit concerned about the plastic clips that hold the horizontal shelves in place as they look like they might break after some use. My biggest criticism of this product is the relatively short electrical lead (about 130cm) which forces you to be in close proximity to a power outlet.

Seems to be a good airer, dries clothes fast. Can be a little awkward hanging large things like towels as the arms that run down the sides get in the way a bit (minor thing).

Btw this was the second one I received as the first was damaged. Packaging is not sturdy enough. However as ever Amazon was great, got a super speedy pick up and refund.

The product arrived the next day as promised, and was easy to assemble. I opened the box and within minutes it was plugged in and hearing. Have used it a few times and it’s perfect for rainy days, and it also keeps the room warm which is a bonus. It will be a huge help during the cold winter months when it’s virtually impossible to dry the washing!

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI was really excited to get this, hoping it would solve our winter problem of constantly having clothes hanging over radiators. It has greatly helped with this, and I no longer have to run round the house everytime the radiators turn on having to rotate clothes and move them around to maximise drying, but it’s not the all out amazing product I was expecting.

Firstly, the dryer is useless without the cover. We tried using a duvet as several people suggested but I found we needed to use 2 duvets to ensure enough of the dryer was covered to keep the heat in, and even then it wasn’t great. We bought the cover and it’s much better.

Secondly, the bars on the dryer are so close together we can only put clothes on every other bar or they are too close together to dry properly. That means 5 items on the top row, 5 on the middle, and on the bottom row you have to lie clothes rather than drape them or they don’t dry. For a family of 5 this doesn’t quite cut it in terms of how much washing we have each day.

And lastly, only the top row is really warm enough to dry thick clothes like jeans and jumpers, exactly the type of clothes you wear in winter. The middle row is good for thinner t shirts and sports wear. But even with the dryer set up like this the dryer needs to be on about 10 hours to dry everything.

In summary, it does do what it says, just not as amazingly as I’d hoped for. I have a lot less clothes on my radiators and wouldn’t get rid of it, just don’t expect wonders.

Worth every penny. Can’t imagine drying my clothes without this product. Glad I tried it and bought it. Very well thought out design as well. You Can fold up the top parts to hang the clothes without them getting in the way. You can then drop the top flaps to keep hanging clothes as you work your way up.

Does it’s job but needs the rather expensive dry soon cover to work efficiently. Capacity is limited as if I hang trousers on the top rack they hang below the one underneath. Still cheaper to use than a tumble dryer if you have the space for it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis works well. It takes up a small amount of space and the heat is gentle enough to get things dry but not damage anything. You can drape a sheet over the top to hold the heat in for faster drying. My only quibble is mine arrived with some sections of the rail bent. Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have read about these heated airers before but never thought about buying one until my ancient tumble drier broke down a few weeks ago. After a week of trying to dry 4 peoples’ laundry indoors and failing miserably I decided to get one of these Lakeland airers in the hopes that it would be half as good as people say.

It arrived in a huge box with very little in the way of padding inside which I thought was unusual, but thankfully it was undamaged. One thing to note about this airer – it takes up more floorspace than other airers with similar hanging space it’s wide and square – but it’s a small niggle. The power cord is very short but I just use an extension lead. The other thing I have realised is that the effectiveness of this airer depends entirely on how well the clothes are spun initially – I happen to have a separate spin dryer from a spell of having no washing machine, so I use this to get as much water out of the clothes as possible before hanging them up to dry. (typically an extra litre comes out after a 1000 rpm spin in the washing machine).

The first load of laundry was completely dry in 8 hours, the 2nd lot took longer as it was thick towels and that was without the cover. I have actually just ordered the cover because I think it will speed the drying time up even more. I was a little worried that it would cause a lot of condensation so I keep the window on the latch – whilst there was a lot of condensation on the window after an hour of drying, it was all completely gone by the time everything was dry.

I am delighted with my purchase, it has turned out to be even better than expected and I hope that laundry will dry even quicker once I have the proper cover. I love the gentle heat which is generated and the fact that you can take shelves up and down as required. I haven’t checked my electricity usage so fingers crossed it’s as cost effective as advertised!

I can’t see me replacing the tumble drier at all now, this airer has pretty much rendered it obsolete!

To add: after 2 weeks of no tumble drier and using this airer for about 8-10 hours per day there has been a drop in my electricity use compared to the previous month so I’m delighted with my purchase!

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI have had mine for 3 years and I could never be without. Worth the price as it pretty much pays for itself and does a great job of drying clothes. Especially in my old house and this was freezing with pretty much no insulation but clothes still dry super quick!

I usually can fit 3 wash loads hanging off the shelves and laying across the bars. I will then do a towel wash and hang them over the top to keep the heat in for drying. If I have no towels to wash I will use a double duvet cover to keep the heat in. Also the cats love it as a bed!

I even bought one of these for my friend as a Christmas present as she was drying clothes off every single radiator as she didn’t like the cost of her tumble dryer and she absolutely loves it as well! We would never go back!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersA well designed product. The cover is essential though for keeping in the warmth. I like the flexibility of how many shelves you choose to deploy when drying longer items etc. It has been in constant use and we no longer use the tumble dryer except for ’emergencies’ when something is needed to be dried rapidly so must be saving on energy costs. The cover did have a smell to it that wasn’t to my liking but a quick rinse through and the smell has gone. I am sure it must be kinder to the clothes as well not being smashed around in the tumble dryer. An excellent product.
