Dry:Soon Drying Pod Dries Clothes Quickly and Efficiently

Dry:Soon Drying Pod

Product number: 53211

Move over radiators and tumble dryers: the Dry:Soon Drying Pod’s in town, and it gets clothes dry so quickly, quietly and efficiently, there’ll be no more draping need-them-dry-now laundry over radiators ever again.

Fast, efficient clothes drying

We sold a version of this incredibly efficient electric clothes dryer a few years ago, and Lisa, our Home Buyer and in-house laundry expert, is delighted to bring back this updated version. Costing just 15p an hour to run, it works the same way, blowing hot air through clothes on hangers to dry them gently but oh-so quickly, but has been developed to make the job faster, quieter, and more efficient than ever.

A lot of hot air… but in a good way!

Getting your clothes dry much faster than most electric airers, and far more gentle on fabrics than the rough and tumble of a conventional tumble dryer, the pod has a fan built into the base that heats air up to 70°C and then blows it up into and dries your clothes. Perfect for shirts, blouses, linen clothes and delicate fabrics, but comfortably able to dry thicker fabrics like jumpers and denim too. When we put it through its paces we found that lightweight fabrics dry in less than an hour, while jeans took around 2 hours. And while you might think that such an efficient fan would be noisy, it runs quietly and discreetly at less than 52 decibels.

Dries up to 12 items at a time

Just pop your garments on hangers, hook them onto the rail at the top, fit the zip-fronted fabric cover around them, then switch it on. There’s room for a dozen hangers inside and, because your clothes hang straight down while they dry, they’ll have few creases and need very little, if any, ironing.

Good-looking, lightweight and easy to store

Most clothes airers are designed with utility rather than style in mind – but why shouldn’t you have both? The retro-styled, tripod design of this lightweight aluminium pod sets it apart from most airers, but it’s far from a triumph of style over content – those three legs keep it really stable, while helping to keep the weight down too, so it’s easier to move around.

Timer function with auto shut-off

The optional timer can be set for up to 3 hours, and will automatically switch the fan off when its time is up, freeing you up to get on with other tasks around the house – or even relaxing! And if you want to check on progress, you can just switch it on and leave it running until things have dried to your satisfaction.

Dry:Soon Heated Airers: a revolution in laundry

When we introduced our first heated tower airer in 2008 we knew it was a winner, but we weren’t prepared for just how quickly it would race to the top of the bestsellers’ list – or how long it would stay there. Since then we’ve not only developed our Standard range but also introduced a Deluxe range, a Drying Pod and in response to customer suggestions, added a selection of handy accessories to make them the best airers ever.

Versatile

In addition to the Drying Pod, we offer a wide range of designs and sizes with folding shelves that can be positioned to suit your needs: you can dry T-shirts, socks or larger items over the rungs; lay delicate clothes flat to avoid stretching, or hang sheets and big towels over the top without them touching the floor.

Convenient

Made from light yet robust aluminium, Dry:Soon airers are easy to move around and fold down for storage, ready to be pressed into action throughout the winter months, or whenever the weather isn’t cooperating.

This is much better and cheaper to run than a tumble dryer but it can take 3 hours to dry a full load but then at this time of year clothes are thicker so I suppose it is inevitable. It is much kinder to clothes than a tumble dryer and there is less iron. Very pleased.

So glad I bought this! Much more compact than the fold out ones and works brilliantly. Great for people living in a flat, and there’s only storage heaters in my house so literally nowhere to dry clothes so this has been a godsend.

Things that can’t go in tumble dryer, would previously have gone on a radiator, no more, pop on hanger. Cotton shirts half hour at most to dry and no need to iron, unless you are a perfectionist . Fantastic product. Would highly recommend to everyone

I ordered this dryer, as needed to speed up the drying of clothes indoors. I’ve not had a tumble drier, this was suitable alternative. Did exactly what was said on the description. Note that it doesn’t come with hangers (but I used plastic ones) and it dried my washing quicker than hanging over the radiators. It was easy to assemble and also to put away. It came with the cover which was part of the product. Not sure how effective it would be for lots more clothes but I dried jeans, jackets and tops easily. It’s fairly bulky when up and running but no worse than any other clothes airer.

This product is worth it, especially if you have no space for a tumble dryer , no balcony to air your clothes and you don’t want to keep damp clothes in the house. The only concern is electricity consumption. Your clothes will eventually get dried but it comes at a cost.

Very easy to use and assemble, select time and it automatically switches off when finished. I expected creases as I had not used fabric conditioner, still no ironing required! Simply transferred the dry clothes straight into the wardrobe. The room had been slightly warmed, my usual airer always required a window to be left open to prevent condensation. I would definitely recommend the drying pod.

This dries well (not as quick as a tumble dryer but it only costs around 20p an hour to run).

It is a super drying device.. I wanted a better way to dry non Tumble dryer items, for the wet and cold weather days.I’m limited on space so opted for the pod.. It is easy to pack away when not in use. I won’t claim it can dry a full load in one go.. but I never intended it to. A single person could probably rely on this for all their needs.. I purchased some metal trouser hangers to use clips. Beware will be hot to handle but soon cool down. Try and enjoy this pod It is super.

I’ve been using this for two months now and it works really well. It’s essential in my small flat where the heating is turned of in ‘summer’. You can fit a huge amount onto it if you’re creative. The only things I have a problem with are underwear and socks. I’m sure the manufacturer wouldn’t recommend this but I’ve even used the fan/heater part with my normal drying rack covered with a sheet – still works and means I can get even more dry!

I bought this because it’s cheaper than a tumble dryer, better for the clothes and the environment, and cheaper to run. My washing machine only takes a small load so the size/weight limit isn’t too bad for me. I don’t think this would suit a family but for someone who only does small amounts of laundry, it’s ideal. It has been particularly useful this year with all the wet weather we have had. Also, I have mobility problems and a garden with a lot of mud and no paths. Since spraining my ankle, it has been even more of a godsend. It is much better than having to drape things over the radiators and turn the heating on. I have noticed that with longer items it’s a good idea to turn them upside down halfway through drying. With bedding, I clip sheets, duvet covers onto several hangers and spread them around the pod. It helps with balance and with drying time. I’m very pleased that I bought it and feel it is well worth the money. I haven’t bothered to dismantle it between uses as it makes a handy window screen until I can get curtains, rails and a handyman but I don’t see that it would be too much hassle putting it away between uses.

I bought and was sceptical but 70 compared to a 300 dryer

I’m pleasantly surprised as it’s compact and cheapand it dried a load in 2-3 hours

If it’s T-shirt’s and thinner stuff(baby clothes too) – you’d have it dried in an hour !! Perfect

    Cons
It has steam holes at the top so you must place in a room that’s ventilated or you’ll cause mold ( didn’t think of that when purchasing )

It’s not that practical if you had a big family and loads of washing as you’d be constantly putting washing on and off. But if you’re comparing to line drying – then it’s no different

It’s not that easy to move from room to room as legs fall off

It’s quite unsightly as it just looks odd so it’s not something you’d keep where people would see it

    – you spend time putting stuff on hangers to dry
I bought a pack of cheap hangers to go with it as I knew I’d be running around searching for hangers

I also bought a hanger with little pegs on so I could dry socks and underwear on it

    Prosthere’s lots !!!

It’s waaaay cheaper than a dryer

I use for 3 adults and do a wash load a day plus towels and it’s coped well

It gets out creases so less ironing (hooray)

Less damage to clothes as no shrinkage and no damage to delicate lace items . I’ve found less bobbling too

I turned it on for a full cycle and it dried everything (I put two hangers per prong – you get 6 prongs to hang on )

It’s good once you get in the habit of doing smaller loads of washing . Also I feel like it’s saved me time as I don’t iron now and my washing is done and dried in a morning

You could put a lot more in it but I do 12 tops/ jeans and it’s done on one cycle

All in all it’s perfect for 70 as washing is done and dried and clothes aren’t shrunk or danaged

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIf you live somewhere without a lot of sun, and you don’t have a dryer, you need this! As others have said, it seems to use pretty minimal electricity, and it dries clothes/towels in one or two cycles (depending on how many and which items you’re drying). It’s really easy to assemble/disassemble. Sometimes I’ll turn it on just to give it a hug on a cold morning. On especially freeing mornings, I’ve considered cutting leg holes in the bottom/neck hole in the top and standing inside it.

Drys clothes very good, just put a sensible amount of items in and drys very well. Not so good for damp towels as too much humidity but i have done most things including the odd towel so long as you even out the weight of item. My heating broke and no tumble dryer so this has got rid of the backlog. Daughters uniform ready in around half hour , larger quantities 2-3 hrs. Use plastic coathangers and plastic pegs, fully recommend.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPleasantly surprised…a great piece of equipment! I’ve just dried 32 toddler tops and vests which dried in just over 2hrs.

Not very noisy, easily able to hear TV while it’s on. Added bonus it heats up my lounge and smells nice!

I do dismantle and put up when I need it as I don’t have space to leave it up all the time, but really easy to take down and put up.

If I had 1 criticism, it would be that there aren’t any hanger indentations on the bars (ie. I use pegs to hold hangers in place). As you can see in the picture, I invested in some ‘magic hangars’ which work really well!

    Overall, really pleased, would recommend!

It does exactly what it is expected. Dries most shirts, panties and socks in about and hour. As an ex-pat living in London, learning to live without a tumble drier has been difficult. Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have had a similar product before which lasted years.
I prefer only to use this to dry damp rather than wet clothing. Drying very wet washing can take hours , but if the clothes can be partly line dried or hung on a clothes horse this speeds up the process. I also quite often iron things first so they come out crisp, dry and crease free. The washing is also warm when it comes out so ideal for school uniform on a cold morning. Also coloured items do not fade as a result of being dried unlike a tumble dryer.
I do worry as some types of fabric seem to shrink if left in too long, so it is worth bearing this in mind, but it is generally ok if used with care so that items are not left in for longer than necessary.
Also the air around the machine may get fairly humid, so to avoid condensation on walls and windows ventilate the room you are using if possible. This is apparently a good thing to do in these days of coronavirus anyway.
The engine of the heater is quiet and smooth, though I would have liked the machine to be a tad taller to accommodate longer length washing. You have to provide your own coat hangers, but I do not see that as a problem.
All in all I find it indispensible in our house, not without a few minor drawbacks but generally a brilliant and reasonably priced machine.

I cannot believe I’ve had years of issues drying clothes on airers and radiators when these have been around so long! I had seen them before but never thought they would work well or be safe and reliable.

Well after becoming desperate after another season of fusty smelling collars, waistbands and thick clothing, I noticed the positive reviews on this and thought it was worth a go.

Despite appearances, it’s sturdy and easily holds as many clothes as you can fit on it. Easy to use with the simple rotary timer too. We’ve dried the most delicate clothing with no damage at all.

The first time I used it, I was trying too hard to get the cover to sit properly. Dont worry about this, as long as it’s zipped up and the clothes are inside. Turn it on and it inflates, sitting in position perfectly.

Clothes now dry in no time and as a bonus we don’t need central heating as much as it puts out a nice amount of warmth! We have an open plan living room/kitchen and it doesn’t annoy us at all being in the kitchen while we watch TV in the living room.

So happy I can walk around in fresh smelling clothes through winter now!

This is very easy to assemble and pack away. The timer is a great function as I can leave this running whilst doing other jobs around the house or watching tv and trust it will switch off once the timer is finished. It dries clothes very quickly, most of my clothes dry within half an hour or an hour for heavy clothing such as hoodies. Brilliant! This has been worth its weight in gold for me… everything dries quickly as opposed to hanging around on an airer…might invest in a bigger one, will see how i go… but this is will save me a lot of headaches with school uniforms from now on as they can’t go into a normal drier without shrinking…no more damp clothes on the radiators during winter.

My space can’t fit a washing machine so this is what I really needed instead of making a few trips to the laundrette. It all fits come laundry day! And no need to iron in my experience

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersWife wanted something that was going to help her keep up with the washing, as we couldn’t seem to do that. So I got this & all her problems disappeared. Now she can wash clothes & feel confident that they will be dry & ready to fold without having the washing all around the house drying all day. Especially as we don’t have the option to dry outside on the line. So if this is the case for you. 100% worth the buy

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersMy mum got me this as part of a present when my partner and I moved into our first flat. It’s ideal as we don’t have a lot of space for a clothes horse, and don’t like hanging our washing on radiators! It’s nice and compact for our small kitchen, and keeps everything tidy. Clothes/towels are ready in a couple of hours (small items take a lot less time of course) and still smell as fresh as they were coming out of the washing machine. It’s super easy to set up, and easy to take down and store in the cupboard. Doesn’t wrinkle anything either, meaning less ironing for jeans and trousers. Would recommend!

Very easy to put up and away once used. We don’t have a tumble dryer so this has helped us manage the washing and get it dried and put away quicker! Another huge plus is that most things don’t need ironed that go into it if hung properly.

This is even better than a tumble dryer , I’ve never had all my washing dried so fast ! It hardly makes any noise, it’s so easy to put it where you want, it warms up the room, I just wish I had got this sooner , instead of having to have the dryer on and praying for a good day to peg the washing out !

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersGreat item. It does what it’s supposed to do despite not being able to put as many items in as it states. Works better with 5-6 items in it. Once assembled you will be best finding somewhere to store it without taking it apart as it does take a while to rebuild.

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersThis product is just what I was looking for the only negative for me is that the timer switch is quite hard to turn round especially for anyone with arthritis in their hands.
