Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe printer is brilliant like all elegoo products. However unlike the Mars 3 the Mars 3 Pro does not come with chitubox pro for a year. Not sure why the cheaper product gets the pro license while the “pro” printer isn’t and if you want all the good stuff from the slicer than you must buy it. Dont get me wrong the free slicer is adequate most of the time but I had less failures using the pro version and of you serious about printing I recommend buying the pro version of the slicer.

Takes a little bit to get the pernickity things i.e bed leveling but once thats sorted its basically plug and print!! The amount of things I’ve printed already is astounding! Xmas pressies sorted!

    Great piece of kit!

Printer is easy to use with the touch screen, works well with chitubox and the print quality is really good, I recommend buying extra resin tray film as well as PTFE spray so that the prints don’t stick to the resin tray and 5 micro fibre cloths to aid with cleaning and that means you don’t get as many failed prints.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have only operated FDM printers before getting this, I have used this fairly solidly for 2 months now and just wow, first the setup is so simple, then sort your routine, safety and post production processes are key and your good to go. I have been using water washable resin and haven’t had a single print failure from over 40 print runs, I have literally levelled the build plate, used the slicer provided for supports and hit go.
The build quality is sound with metal used in all the right places while applying plastics to reduce costs where they could and it has been done well while making sure it is very stable.
I really like this printer an awful lot and once you have the post production setup In order you can really get great results and turn them round quickly.

Update on the product and my experience.
I had a flood, rather a large one as the vat was full, it covered all components inside and out. From 8pm till 1am I was cleaning and dismantling and re-cleaning, rinse and repeat for hours.
Then another session the next morning repairing a sensor housing the resin made brittle and re-cleaning before leaving in the sun to be safe.
Rebuild started and went smoothly, all the connectors and internals survived nicely, the black plastics have been weathered by the experience and gives it some bonus character. Then the moment of truth, power on and bazinga on it goes. Screen protector gasket lost its stickiness so replacement on order. Test LCD showed a mark on the screen that is strange as it is the only part untouched by the experience so it was probably already there but never had a fail (before the flood).
To summarise, I do not want to do it all again any time soon and what happened to me was a very unlikely scenario, however I can now confirm with confidence this is a pretty tough machine indeed and I look forward to running again soon.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhere to begin? Well YouTube, whilst doing my research on 3d printers for beginners, which one is best ect I came across this little fellow. Now I knew of Elegoo before due to their amazing resin printers and assumed the FDM was just as good!

Well I was half correct in my assumptions. This printer is fantastic for beginners but suffers the same issues as any 3d printer that is not enclosed or 1500! This will print PLA like it’s nobodys business and this will print in a fabulous quality right out the box. However just like any other printer it will require tinkering to print harder materials such as ABS, PETG and nylon.

That last point isn’t a bad thing for 260 this will do the job for most people. For I love it and I’ve printed some awesome things with rather tight tolerances.

    Pros

    1. Easy enough to assemble if experienced.
    2. Great prints with PLA with little amount of tuning.
    3. Great software Elegoo skinned cura just works, however upgrading and tinkering will yeid better results.
    4. Very quite.
    5. Rather fast for a small machine.
    6. Good bed leveling springs and surface PEI Flexi plate.
    7. All metal duel gear extruder.

    Cons.
    1. There is not where near the same amount of eco system for the Neptune 2s as there is for the ender 3 however with work most things that’ll work on a ender 3 will work on a Neptune such as all metal hotends and enclosures.
    2. Can be difficult to assemble if you’ve never picked up a spanner before. Will take about a hour or two with belt set up and learning cura. YouTube is your friend.
    3. If you want to print with other materials other then PLA you have to tinker with it. If you want to do that out the box you need to spend 800
    4. There is no where near as much information as other 3d printers however there is an amazing Reddit community that will help with most problems as well Elegoo tech support.

All in all is this printer worth the cost?…. Absolutely!
Is it worth buying?…. Maybe not the Neptune 3 will be releasing soon and that even better at a cheaper price point so unless the Neptune 2s drops 100 then I would get the Neptune 3.

    Thanks for reading

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI tried resin printing with the Halot One, but despite trying two different ones, they both suffered screen failure, so I bite the bullet and paid more for the Mars 2 Pro.

Word of advice BUY THIS PRINTER, resin printing isn’t easy, but if it fails it’s most likely user error.

I have done about 20 prints, about 5 needed a second attempt due to my errors.

Those that do work are amazing. The quality is top class and this is imo a perfect printer to start with.

New to resin printing? This is the printer for you...

I’ve run a Creality 002r for a year or so but wanted to upgrade to a mono system.
Whilst essentially the system and printer are the same the startling difference is the feel and quality of the Elegoo unit.
    It feels premium.
Bedlevelling just works. There has been thought out into the spring loaded bed and how it’s tightened etc
Yes you pay extra for this quality but you do genuinely feel and see it.
Speed wise the mono screen does make a huge difference. Sliced in Lychee I’m essentially halving print time on same models: in actual print time (inc lifts etc) you’re probably looking at a third faster prints, give or take. From an 11 hour print to a 7 hour print.
Printer comes with fep sheets, filters, masks and a few more bits with a great addition as well! Can’t ask for much better tbh

The Mars 3 is a great printer for beginners and for seasoned printers.
Once you have your resin settings dialled in well, you’ll get some fantastic results from it.
I’ve been slowly replacing my 2k printers for 4k ones and the difference in quality is noticeable.
I rate Elegoo as one of the better manufacturers as their customer support is second to none. If I’ve ever had an issue (which is rare) they’ve gone above and beyond to resolve it for me which is one reason I keep coming back to buy their machines.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Mars 2 Pro is an absolutely fantastic machine. Quick and easy set-up and Tech support is only an email away.
Its 100% a modular design and with such everything is easily replaceable from the FEP, build plate, and Tank all the way down to the components of the machine such as the screen, led array, and drive axis.
Tech support is a dream. I had a major problem with the FEP leaking onto the screen pretty much obliterating it. Contacted support and without hesitation they sent out a new screen no questions asked.
If you are looking to get into 3D printing and are looking to do detailed miniatures this is your machine.
It’s Fast, has a wonderful level of detail and is really built like a tank, and will probably last about as long.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter much thought I purchased this printer and have not been disappointed. Construction was straight forward and the printer is very solid. First models stuck to the base well during printing and just slipped off when model complete. A couple of models have not stuck to base but this may be my inexperience.

I run a 3D printing business and this printer out performs all of my others at a fraction of the price. Assembly is easy and calibration out of the box was near perfect making this a great choice for people just getting into 3d printing. I’ll definitely be adding more of these machines to my arsenal.
