I love this product. It has a good quality build to it. I mainly print tabletop miniatures so this is the perfect size for my needs. It mean i can print 6-8 miniatures, throw them in the basket and put them in to wash for several minutes as i prepare my next print.
The curing option and rotating bed mean a tray of prints from my mars 3 fit nicely. The bottom of the compartment is metallic silver and the rotating platform is transparent, but i do wish it was more reflective so I’d be more confident all angles if the prints are exposed to good UV.
Operating doesn’t make too much noise but it has a loud beep when switching modes, adding time to time clock and when done. Depending on your situation this may be good or bad.
Overall i would recommend if you typically do smaller/ tabletop prints, but for larger printers you may need something a little bigger.
Makes washing and curing 3D prints a breeze. No mess at all. The wash bucket is well sealed so your IPA isn’t evaporating or stinking the place out. Washes your model/parts well. Set the timer, press go, thats it.
Washing my prints is fast and easy with no mess. Curing is fast and easy.
The washing box is fully sealed with a magnet to turn the fan that circulates the water or alcohol almost silently.
Remove the tank, drop on the magnetic turntable and the models will cure very well under the uv light.
The process is fast, clean and very simple. The controls are simple touch screen buttons, the first for clean or cure, the second fir time up, the third for time down and the fourth for start.
The plastic cover will reduce most uv emissions supposedly making it eye safe, and removing it turns off the machine.
All in all, comparingvthis to manual washing and an exposed uv light, this is clean simple and fast. Highly recommended.
After the first unit arrived dead on arrival, I set up a return with amazon (simple process btw!) and re ordered.
Second one works as it should.
Well designed unit, enables me to put the entire build plate in for washing (Mars 3 Pro( before UV Curing.
Takes a lot of IPA, so be warned!!
Very useful. Only gripe is that it doesn’t quite fit a mars 3 build plate when fully populated. Other than that, can’t fault it!
The Mercury X bundle is easy to assemble, easy to use and from what I can tell effective! The wash station is brilliant the little “chip fryer” bucket is great, just place your prints in and set the time! Great for cleaning the build plate separately.you know in case you spill resin The curer is the same, pop your prints on the turntable and set the timer! Took a lot of the fear out of resin printing being this scary thing. If you’re a beginner I would highly recommend! Be aware though that the wash station holds 7L (although this is the max and you’d have to do a full height print to require that much)
Bought as I have a Mars 2 Pro and a Saturn S, and plastic tubs of IPA hanging around on my desk was getting annoying. The cure station works great, wish I’d bought one when I started! Really simple to set up and use.
A must have if you’re into 3D resin prints as you’ll need to wash and cure them before painting.
Makes the clean up and curing process a lot easier and safer – very glad I didn’t wait any longer to upgrade my workflow and get one of these.
The longest part about printing as the clean up time the Mercury duo bundle really helps me wash and cure multiple prints at the same time so it’s great if you have a high print queue.
This wash and cure system makes cleaning and curing a simple and straight forward process. Recommended for Mars users or similar due to the size of the build plate
Not only is the product durable, high quality and a good price, the Elegoo customer service is fantastic and they truly care about their customers! I will never look anywhere else but elegoo for my 3d printing needs, thanks guys!
It really makes a difference and develops your prints into perfect miniatures. The wash cycle is super easy to use and very convenient, whilst the UV exposure helps harden and define the details. Would thoroughly recommend!
When I first started 3D printing with the Elegoo Mars, I’d clean the prints with a splash of IPA and a paintbrush, and let them UV set by popping them on the window sill for a bit. But that wasn’t enough – prints would crack after a few weeks, showing wet resin still sitting inside hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. If not, they’d brown in places where there must’ve still been some unset resin. Now with this machine, I’ve had none of those problems any more.
Does what’s required but the chrome plastic button i. both machines has chips. The cover on the cure machine has one slight wall warp which makes it take a second or two more to place it on. Both work we’ll dispute the minor flaws.
A great unit for washing and uring your resin prints. Simple to use and really quiet. My only gripe is the wash basket needs smaller holes in the bottom as parts can poke through and catch on the water agitator. Easily fixed with a piece of mesh.
Imagine sitting absolutely still for 5 minutes. Doesn’t sound like a long time but I challenge you to give it a go. With this curing machine you can wash and cure your parts super easily.
I added in some flexible mirrors to the lid of mine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0919XSN31/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
These (I hope) will let more light bounce around inside the chamber and hopefully lower cure times and get a better coverage.
Very good product.
Brilliant complement to the Mars or Saturn and if you’re going to be doing anything more than very casual printing then this really is a must.
Typical well-engineered and great value kit from Elegoo – does exactly what it’s supposed to: washes well using the magnetic stirrer and cures quickly and effectively using the turntable. Given that the plastic disk is also transparent, I’m sure this helps to distribute the UV across the bottom of the model but I always turn the models once during the cure.
I’d recommend pre-rinsing your models in a pickling jar of IPA before placing them in the washing station in order to save the huge container of IPA from needing changing too often. Its also worth noting that the magnetic stirrer is not designed for use with water/water-washable resins, it simply isn’t vigorous enough. Therefore when using WW resins in the past I’ve used a sonic bath alongside the Mercury.
I’ve had my wash and cure station for a few months and absolutely love it. Unfortunately the was tub developed a leak.
So I reached out to the support team. You can sing along to the tune of There’s a hole in my bucket.
“There’s a hole in my Bucket dear Ellegoo, dear Ellegoo, there’s a hole in my bucket, dear Ellegoo a hole.”
They sent back this response.
“Then we will fix this dear Chezzy, dear Chezzy fix it, with a new one dear Chezzy, dear Chezzy a new one”
So after two days I can now sing
“There’s no hole in my bucket dear Ellegoo, dear Ellego, No hole in my bucket, dear Elegoo Thank you”.
Great but with flaws perfect match with a Mars pro / 2. Down side is make sure you select the right function otherwise you might blender your prints done it once or twice. Also I’d like the UV light to start right at the bottom small or slim prints I worry don’t get an even cure.
Although at first I though I would need to return it as the turntable wasn’t turning. I decided to take a peek inside and saw that a cable had come loose. Once replaced it works fine. Still gave 5 stars as its not the sellers fault that the manufacturer doesn’t have a quality check.
A Great addition to my 3D resin printing Elegoo Mars.
It takes a lot of the mess out of the cleaning up of new prints and the added benefit of the UV curring on a rotary turn table.
The unit is well built and sturdy, simple to operate and clean down after it had done the hard work.
Dont know why it took me 6 months to finally add this to the desk.
got this one to go with my Mars 2 Pro that my wife got me for xmas.
tried it for the first time last week, must say it saves on alot of mess and hassle with cleaning my prints.
for long enough ive been using my pickle jar and a paintbrush and alot of kitchen roll to clean up spills etc.
now i can let the build plate sit to drip a little, then take the whole build plate and use the attached hangar, which incidentally is a variable length depending on how high your print is and how much cleaning solution (or water in my case) you have in the wash and cure station and it sits in there nicely.
pop it on a 10 min wash, which changes the direction after 4 minutes it seems.
once i shake the excess water off and sit to dry for a while then pop all the supports off, a quick 5 minute cure and its all done.
all in all an excellent companion to my printing hobby and delighted i got it.
if I was to give it any negatives, which are pretty minor and dont detract at all from its function.
– there could do with a way to hang the basket after washing to let some liquid drip off.
– its default mode is Cure when its switched on. just an extra button press to toggle to Wash. just seems like it would be more sensible to have it default to wash then cure. very nit picky of me tho for the sake of 2 seconds 😉
deffo recommend if you have a mars series and wont be going larger for a while and can get it on offer.
This is a fantastic purchase. I have moved away from cleaning my prints with ipa in a bucket with a toothbrush and then curing with led’s in a cardboard box. models are no longer tacky after curing. highly recommend.
I recently got the Mercury to help with cleaning and curing the prints from my Mars 2 Pro.
It is super simple to use and safe to work with provided you follow the instructions.
Sadly mine did have a fault with the Mothetboard but the Company customer service was outstanding and Ken, my liason, was incredibly helpful and after a short email conversation had resolved the issue and posted a replacement out to me.
I love the Mars 2 and the Mercury and would recommend both to someone brand new to the hobby such as myself.
P.S the tub for holding the isopropyl alcohol will need at least 2.5 litres in it to work properly so don’t order just the one bottle like it did at first haha!
