Loved the easy set up and no fees for storage as hub keeps the videos. I have the older cameras so the new ones would be sharper, clearer photos but I’m pleased with mine.
Easy to install, surprisingly small devices.
Battery life seems ok so far, not sure 6 months will be possible, but I’m expecting around 2 for the busy front camera based on current consumption, rear camera with less traffic might just make the 6 months.
Picture quality is good, motion detect during day is a little over sensitive, spotlights are a little bit pointless, barely any light illumination if mounted high, I have them about 2.5 metres up, just out of reach of easy theft.
Connects to HomeKit, and if you have secure video recordings are contained within home app.
I ordered the Eufycam 2c security camera kit after seeing some reviews. I previously had a Swann wireless camera that had been good, but recently had started playing up with motion detection. I went for this one because there was a certain amount of control of where detection would be scanned, done by drawing squared/rectangle shapes. This is a very basic way of setting up activity zones, but anything is better than nothing.
The packaging of the product was very good, as shown in the pictures, all packed securely. You get the homebase 2, which is basically a central storage unit and hub for the cameras. I believe up to 16 cameras can be setup on a homebase, 2 cameras with fittings, a power adapter/ethernet cable for the homebase and a small manual.
I downloaded the app and after I’d got one of the cameras setup and working, I then started to tweak the settings in the phone app for the camera. The homebase and cameras were very easy to setup using the very good downloadable app.
All seemed to be going well until I then stopped getting motion detections/notifications. I had already contacted the online support as I couldn’t find the activity zones anywhere and was directed to the right place to do it. The instructions were not that helpful in getting this feature setup. I was getting no detection at all. I contacted the support by phone and to be honest it was a waste of time, I had better response using the online chat.
I gave up with the telephone support, and decided to reset all the settings including the activity zones. The camera eventually started detecting again. I then proceeded to setup the zones once again and I got it to start working, which was a relief. I got the camera back up on the wall (I had taken it down to reset everything) and fine tuned the activity zones. Touch wood I have had good detection from the camera since, and the zones seem to be behaving. I intend to set the other one up soon. The image quality from the cameras is very good. Its 1080p, so not going to be amazing, but it is very clear and sharp and serves its purpose. The response to detection in the app is good and the app works well.
In summary, the first impressions were good. Setup was simple and painless, and app worked well. But initial motion detection performance and first use was very nearly the end of my association with Eufy. Online Chat Support was good, but the phone support was not good at all and wanted me to organise support using emails and I very nearly said enough is enough and sent it back, but I persevered and got the camera back to a point where it was working well. If I can setup the second camera and have the same performance and reliability that I have currently, I will be happy.
Even with the initial problems, I am glad I didn’t give up, and I now see the quality of the product and I am pleased with my purchase. Eufy, please sort out your phone support..The product is good, but unfair or not, I have given only 4 stars because of the phone support. Sorry Eufy…
I am very happy with the system, it was easy to install and up and running in less than 20 mins. The battery life seem great too with onlyy main camera dropping just one bar in over 2 months. If you can get it at a reduced price like I did then go for i
Fantastic bit of kit, clear images, the app is good on my phone, as I can see what’s going on outside the house no matter where I am, easy to install, and with no subscription it’s a no brainier. Well pleased.
I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I found it straightforward to set up and being an older person was glad I could do this. My son put them up and was impressed with how the camera pivots and the quality.
The vision is excellent quality and it also picks up conversations. I would definitely recommend this product.
Bought the 2 camera system and been running it now for about 9 months, I thought that was a better time period before doing a review.
It seems to perform quite good in all areas. the main camera (I bought an extra one to cover another part of the house) on the front gets most pick ups and I have found the battery lasts around 2 months before it needs a charge back to full, so just bear that in mind to make sure it is not too difficult for you to get to to take off when it needs recharging.
It was easy enough to set up and install and so far it has worked great. The app works ok and the picture quality is quite good both day and night.
I haven’t ever tried the speaker facility so can’t comment on that.
I would be happy to buy this again as a wireless system.
Brilliant image and motion detection, unfortunately I’ve returned it as the eufy doorbell didn’t work with Alexa so I went for blink system which is a bit more dull and has lower image quality and motion detection but seem to work perfect with Alexa
We bought this to replace failing cameras. Firstly setting up the Cameras and the Homebase was so simple. Great menu on how you wish to operate your cameras. Crystal clear video during day and night. We were so impressed we bought a further 6 cameras. Would highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!!
Eufy cameras are a great entry level product. Although easy to install I wouldnt say the easiest to set up on the app etc. Easy for the younger generation. Older people who arent tech savvy would struggle. Once set up and working its a great product. The ability to watch your property remotely is fantastic. Over the air updates are great. Great distances between cameras and Homebase. Plenty of Youtube videos to help out.
What I didnt like-Any of the cameras can sometimes go off line. The camera needs to be reset and repair back to the Homebase. Can be a bit of a pain but not happening at all recently. Also a good internet speed is crucial, otherwise it wont work.
The system was easy and straightforward to set up, being wireless.
Motion detection is good and the fact you can adjust the detection zone is a helpful feature. The only down side is I thought the picture quality in night mode would have been better than it is.
Night vision reacts poorly to lights from neighbours home during the rain. Otherwise great.
Easy to set up and gives excellent image quality. Bought during promotion and good value.
Good product easy to set up good picture
Quality and night vision as good as day visio
Easy to set up and wireless works faultlessly, cameras are very compact but packed with features. Excellent value.
Works great upto now after 2 months. Picks up the dogs in the garden which is great as have an aviary and like to know if cats or foxes are about . Charge seems to be lasting, I have a solar panel on one camera that keeps it charged even in bad weather, I will definitely get another panel for the other camera . 4 stars and not 5 because I don’t know about durability yet.
First the positives. It’s well built, easy to set up and install, gives good area coverage and the daylight picture quality is pretty good (not so good at night though) and no monthly fees to pay, BUT…..motion detection is very patchy and the cameras miss quite a lot. For instance, my front door camera will pick up and alert me to a cat walking up my drive but then miss completely a car pulling onto the drive an hour later and in broad daylight, and this when set to detect all movement and at the highest sensitivity. Similarly, the back yard cam will pick up a pigeon on the lawn but then miss me walking in the garden. If you need total security I can’t recommend this system but I got it at a good price in the Prime day sale and it’s effective as a deterrent. When it works it’s very good but detection is too hit and miss for complete piece of mind
Mention sensor doesn’t work as ringbell does but still ok .
So purchased these cameras 3 months ago and thought I’d now leave a review.
Firstly build quality is good and straight out of box very easy to setup. After charging cameras fully(left overnight) mounted cameras and made sure positioning was good. I have no issues with notifications and also set the camera to notify all the time, geofencing works but wanted to see battery life due to the company states 180 days! Well 93 days in and one camera most detecting due to position has 78% and the other is 84%. Looks like battery life is spot on just waiting to see what happens when temperatures drop?
Picture quality during daylight is very good, night is slightly more pixelated but to be honest you can use the inbuilt light which sharpens picture.
Overall would recommend over other leading cameras as you pay no monthly costs for exactly the same service
It’s good system to own, though in busy places you will have a ton of notifications
Good camera set up for wireless, battery powered – the cameras work really well, highly recommend in this price range, good but not perfect picture quality and a decent selection of options to set it all up.
The only downside I have is that battery life is more like 80 days or less, nothing like the 180days on the box, that’s even with sound disabled and motion disabled during the day – I have bought their solar panel for one of the cameras now and that seems to sort it.
I like pretty much everything about this product.
I managed to purchase this on one of amazons sales days so value for money is amazing. The fact there is no subscription is brilliant. I love how this is a rechargeable camera so no running power cables made installation so simple.
The item is so simple to set up almost plug and play. The options for the camera are great from factory idea to personal preference. Being the 1080p item the quality is good enough for what I need it for and identification purposes.
Good night vision option if you do not activate the inbuilt mini flood light which can be brilliance altered. The home hub is compact and subtle connecting direct via LAN into your router enabling the wifi capabilities of the cameras.
All in all great product.
Cheap and reasonable system. No monthly fee. Easy to set up. Picture reasonable and provides deterrent as much as anything else.
Easy setup with clear instructions took less than 10 minutes to setup cameras where also easy to install again took no time at all
Really pleased with our purchase. Good picture quality sent straight to your phone. Very easy to set up and no contact.
Bought this product as we were burguled, and definitely feel safer with it.
Night vision not the best, and objects held for example are hard to identify, but generally does the job.
Occasionally doesn’t pick up people and has to be reset. If you have motion set to most sensitive it will pick up any slight movement like a branch move or a shadow!
Very easy to install, very happy with the picture quality (night or day) and the area the camera covers. The fact there is no need to subscribe/pay for services that some companies charge for is a major plus as well (storage of video clips, sharing the clips, etc).
The constant notifications on my phone as the dog wanders around the house and garden are a little frustrating, but overall i am very happy with my purchase and the peace of mind it now gives me.
It’s a shame that the picture quality isn’t as good as expected. Battery only lasted 3 months but our premises are quite near the road so records a lot of movement. Good point is no subscription needed and we also use 1 of the cameras indoors which works well. Decided to keep this as it’s adequate for our needs without having to pay.
****Updated****
Great when they work, a bit temperamental when connecting or if you have a power outage a couple of mine I have to restart and resync a couple of cameras for some reason. After sales support have been in constant contact and they really want to resolve any issues which is refreshing to others. Very good picture quality once you have set up, and alert system very good.
Added to my existing Eufy system no bother. The battery lasted about 6 months which is good, then a quick USB recharge (think it’s micro usb). Picture quality is good and like that I can move it around, so I had this attached to a tree, keeping an eye on the back garden, but going to move it into my outside office soon.
Light works well too.
The only downside, which might not be the fault of the camera, is the detection. I had it set to ‘human’ detection, but this didn’t seem to make much difference, the swaying branches of the tree set it off. I had some zones set up, but these didn’t seem to stop those dreaded branches.
Great little setup with the ability to add more cameras.
Iv added a doorcam and all works great.
A big plus is local storage so monthly fees.
We bought these for our home security, they are small and discreet! We have a very good battery life, we bring them in for charging roughly once a month sometimes even longer and they charge very quickly. They have an excellent range, we have the home base plugged into our utility room and then the first camera attached to the shed at the top of the garden.
The app on the phone is amazing, we get notifications from every movement and we can adjust the settings from the phone. Definitely recommend this set! Good value for money!
This is a great Wireless Security camera setup. Was easy to setup and the cameras were easy to install.
I had to adjust the cameras the first night as the infrared was reflecting of a wall and made the picture to bright.
The cameras have:
– an excellent viewing angle.
– great battery life.
– very good night vision quality.
– very good daytime camera quality.
– microphone quality is excellent.
Things to remember:
– no power, no access to cameras.
– slight delay on motion detection.
The one downside I have, is that I would like the cameras to be active all the time even when I’m home. But sometimes I forget to deactivate them when I go out back. Then I start getting all the notifications that movement was detected. But you can setup facial recognition, I haven’t yet though.
The camera system arrived promptly and was very easy to set up. Outside, one camera reacted to motion efficiently and with clear videos. Unfortunately, the second camera did not perform well internally. At night, its light blinds the video so nothing can be seen. By the time this is settled, the person had vanished out of range. Also, recording only lasts for about 3 to 4 seconds. by the time it captures the movement, the object had moved to the end of the range. It was set for ‘most efficient video recording’, so, there is no reason why it should do this.
Only had the system for a few days, so this might improve. Customer services are always on hand to help.
I did not want bulk nor a camera that is wired. This fits the bill on both accounts with eufy homebase 2 it is easy to add too. Even though it is HD quality if motion is too fast on freeze frame it can be quite blocky even during the day but this is not for a full professional criminal ‘on their toes’ catcher and is acceptable to me. The setup for Jo public is easy, too
Got these after reading previous reviews and to be honest my expectation was met and exceeded.
First thing was the package on opening – everything as described in the item listing and the look and feel of the product just oozed quality.
On powering up the Homebase and syncing the two cameras along with the app , the set up of the system was very easy. Once the cameras were synced you have freedom to roam outside and find the best place for mounting the cameras externally. The app displays the Wi-Fi signal strength so it really helps for finding the best location. I also found that keeping the Homebase off the floor and in a location central to your planned site for the cameras was beneficial. Of course this is relative to your router position in the home.
Once decided on camera mount positions it took less than half an hour to drill walls and fix the mounts and I had them up and running in no time.
Picture quality was excellent and once the settings were sorted out on the app I felt confident that I had a great security aid on the property.
The notifications come through on the phone almost like immediately and allow you to click on the feed and speak via the camera to the person being picked up. Had to increase the volume at the camera though.
Picture quality and sound are really good.
I would recommend this product and on sharing with family members they were all impressed with what they saw.
Eufy is a great system no matter where you are you can access your cameras and converse with whomever is hanging around your home it works real well at recognising people coming up your drive before they arrive to your door and all recorded to cloud and all this goes through your smartphone it even clearly records at night, I have been using my little system for quite sometime now and have found it totally reliable and always ready I have fitted extra long charging leads to my cameras so I can keep them fully charged all the time even though the batteries stay charged for a very long time just makes it easier than getting them down to charge them All in all it is a great system for the money and I highly reccomend this really easy to install system for security on your home
A realistic system to protect your house. Be warned! It is harder than you think to choose the best places to mount the cameras! This does of course apply to ANY camera system you buy, but don’t underestimate the task!
The battery life of the cameras appears to be excellent!
Personally, I’ve struggled with parts of the software, it seems slightly less intuitive than say, the Arlo, bit, it is about half price AND you get the “hub” which stores the footage – rather than having to use the cloud.
As the camera is front facing the detection has an issue spotting people or movement from directly in front, it’s better seeing things enter and exit the screen. As seen above the issue is you can’t use the alarm in the middle of a street and you can’t set notifications loud enough to wake you. The guy looks directly at the camera and it means nothing. The bike in the bike didn’t show the number plate due to the angle. I think the worse part is that the two stationary cars regs are still pretty hidden by the IR light. Also the notification can be pretty slow. The guy was in and out in 2 mins so the notification may not have helped. The pings you get from the app are normally beaten by the postmen knocking on the door. I might buy the 2k and see how that fairs but not sure how much past deterrent these cameras are. I think it’s better to leave it in an obvious place and out of reach so they see it and run.
Bought as a indoor Dog Camera to keep an eye on our new puppy in the house. The space it monitors is 7ft long and 3ft wide and because of this I’ve had to mount it side ways to get the whole area into view which means it doesn’t pick up the motion as the angles are wrong. Other than that it’s a great camera that compliments the other 2 Cam2 Pro camera’s we also have up on the outside of the house.
So easy to set up the Home base 2 and the-the cameras, the home base talks to you, telling you what to do next. The app is easy to use in the set up too, take your phone and a camera to your desired camera fixing position and the app tells you the Wi-Fi strength at that position and wether it’s good enough? I found that the Home base could give me a good enough signal at either end of our 4 bed home.
Great system, easy to install, battery lasts for months, despite dozens of triggers a day and no monthly fees to pay for storage. Highly recommended. Eufy in my opinion is superior to Ring etc and overall costs are less.
In my initial review I scored the product down for losing connectivity but once I bought a simple wifi extender / booster to amplify the signal from the camera to the home hub inside the house I found this improved things massively all round and I’ve had 98% connectivity- I ended up purchasing this third camera to cover the garden which I added to the existing hub with zero hassle.
These cameras are brilliant. Easy to install, link up with Wi-Fi, and replay footage. The pictures and sound are clear both day and night.
Ordered this set up after reading a lot of review and trawling through online videos….
It seems the general consensus is that Eufy were the best value Vs performance and so far, I can’t argue with that.
The system arrives well packaged which gives it a premium feel and this continues when you unpack the seperate components. The cameras and home base have a good solid feel to them and the fit and finish is excellent.
Heads up: before connecting & setting up any of the system, fully charge the camera units…. This can take up to 3 – 4 hours.
Once you’ve downloaded the app and plugged in the homebase, the set up is extremely quick and easy…. And I do mean easy! Select the item you want to pair with the home base, scan the code on the bottom of the camera, press the pairing button and off you go… Sooooook easy and a hats off to Eufy for making this set up easy and foolproof (unlike so many other systems out there)
Next, fixing the cameras to the wall…. Again so easy! All you need is a 6mm drill bit, 2 x wall plugs & screws per camera mount…. Eufy even supply a small stick on template to fix to the wall so you can easy see where you want to drill… Just be sure to check the fixing position is correct and you have a strong Wi-Fi signal using the app before you set in place.
Once this has been done, attach the cameras by the threaded mount and you are set.
Then you can dive into the settings…. Privacy zones, detection zones, People detection, IR, colour, siren, two way communication, spot light It really is massively comprehensive.
Once you’ve done this, you can sit back and enjoy….. Well, you can in most cases, but not in mine.
Once set up I walked back and two in front of the cameras and was dismayed to see the recorded images was very, very laggy and stuttering (dropping frames). I dived back into the settings and adjusted everything I could…. But to no avail. So next I moved the homebase as close the the cameras as I could… But still the video play back was to be honest… Pretty rubbish.
Next day I decided to send an email direct to Eufy and expected to wait a few days to hear back (or the system was going to be sent back to Amazon).
To my surprise, Eufy came back the next day asking for some specific information and I sent this off…. Receipt, video footage etc.
The next day I get an email saying they agree there a problem and have sent out an update for me which may take a day or two to arrive, but to check and get back to them with my findings once it had installed itself…… WOW! was my first reaction as I wasn’t expecting such a quick and positive response, and impressed me greatly.
I immediately checked if the update had arrived (yep, I’m impatient hahaha) and was surprised to see it had arrived and was installed (this was straight after opening the email).
So out I went and danced In front of the cameras and checked the results. And, they were PERFECT!!
No stuttering, just good solid video recording. The update had worked and I couldn’t be more happy with the system or Eufy for their exemplary customer care.
Now if you you haven’t given up or nodded off…. A review of the system itself.
Price: Bought at full price or sale price, this system is extremely good value for money.
Procuct Quality: An easy 10/10
Image Quality daylight: This is very good at full frame,. It does suffer a little when you zoom in.
Image Quality Night: Again, for the type of system it is, night vision is excellent and you can choose between colour and IR (black and white)
Motion Detection: I have found this to be excellent and it’s never missed an event. There is a few second delay in detecion and the distance of detection is quite short, but if the camera is located correctly, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Alarm/Siren: Not the loudest, but again, if you have a couple of cameras and they go off together…. This should deter anyone lurking around
Two way communication: Excellent (don’t expect hifi quality) and it works well, with a small delay.
Setting up: Unbelievably easy with many options to play with 10/10
Issues: The battery on one camera is failing faster than expected (set up in very low detection zones). 1 bar in 2 weeks! And this is with only 4 detections a day and all settings at standard.
I’ll let it run down to around 25% and see how it goes after another full charge (may reset the camera as well as it’s had an update)
Summary:
If you are after a security camera system to alert you of anyone on your property, I can highly recommend this system…. It’s keenly priced, works well and comes with absolutely brilliant customer care from Eufy!
If you feel you may require extra image clarity, perhaps look at the 2K version.
I’m now going to go for the Eufy 2K doorbell (once it hits the sales of course) and with the confidence, that should things go wrong, Eufy have one of the best customer support systems I have used I a very, very long time.
And before I finish…. A massive thank you to Aimee….truly outstanding customer care!!
Excellent camera kit, super easy to set up via the mobile phone, will see just how long the batteries last in the cameras before they need charging, the picture quality is very good in day time and night vision is also good, the app is very easy to navigate.
I’ve 3 of these cameras to protect our property. When we visited Australia we were still able to monitor the house and best of all communicate to visitors to our door from Australia. With the added birdhouse covers the camera becomes more discrete. There is even a privacy app to block out intrusive views to protect neighbours privacy.
Got this for my garage. Works great with Wi-Fi. Hooked up with video doorbell and inside camera. Pictures are clear although haven’t tested night vision yet. Glad I purchased this. Would definitely recommend.
The Eufy kit does everything it is supposed too, the motion sensing is great, the night vision is clear and the option to review it like it is daylight is brilliant, set up and installation was easy. The universal mount size allowed for alternate mounting types to be used due to the place I needed it mounted.
I bought this product along with the Eufy doorbell in October 2021 or so and am writing this review in August 2022.
The cameras were simple to setup, my only criticism was with the mounting brackets having limited range of movement for the camera. I have one camera mounted on the side of the house and wanted it to point along the driveway, so the camera needed to face almost parallel to the wall. I ended up buying a third party mount instead.
Other then that though the cameras have been pretty decent. There has been a few 3am notifications of foxes in the back garden or spiders setting up home in front of the lens, probably due to me setting the motion sensitivity pretty high.
During the winter I did notice a little bit of fogging on the lens, but that was on extremely cold nights
Another feature I like is you can make the camera “black out” certain sections of the image in recordings, this is useful if your camera catches a little of next doors property or something and you want to preserve their privacy.
Onto battery life. The cameras are setup in low traffic areas so the battery life has probably been 3-5 months. It does remind you if the battery on the cameras have been getting low. Unfortunately I’ve succumbed to laziness sometimes and let the batteries drain flat before I’ve eventually got he ladders out to replenish the charge. I know Eufy offer the solar panel to remove this chore but it’s pretty pricey.
As for the homebase, haven’t really got much to say other than it works? It’s got a pleasing design/look to it.
My elderly mother has dementia and had a tendency to leave the house during the night. I have been using the eufy doorbell to detect movement however I found that there was occasions when it was not capturing her leaving the house.
I purchased this camera which I directed on the door and found it to be 100% reliable and would alert movement to the front door which allowed me to communicate with my mother and have her return back inside the house. This kept her safe and allowed me the confidence knowing I would be alerted to her movements at all times.
Bought this to replace our over-hyped Canary system. For picture quality and App it’s got Canary whipped. However the cameras have to connect to the Eufy hub, whereas the Canary ones directly connect to our wi-Fi which happens to be a mesh system which extends connectivity to front and rear gardens, far further than the reach of the Eufy hub. So I’ll have to keep the Canary ones. Shame as the Eufy ones are far superior in all other aspects.
This is a great addition to my eufy system, I managed to snag it on prime day so got a good deal on the price.
I now have a total of four cameras, three of which came as a bundle with the hub and now this later addition to the system which joined the others seamlessly, with all the work being done for me and the process completed in seconds.
The camera is small and discreet, it doesn’t draw attention to itself in any way and is easy to overlook during the daytime. At night time if you choose the colour picture option the lights do make it t you are being recorded.
The picture quality is good, you can make out facial features well and can easily recognise someone on the video/ pictures this takes.
The battery life is good, on the lowest settings you will probably get the six months claimed by the manufacturer but with normal use it will not make six months on a single charge, it will probably last 3/4 months though. A solar panel is available for the camera and I highly recommend getting one to keep it charged with no effort on your behalf.
Fitting is easy and being wireless can be anywhere it is needed, regardless of a power source. It can be angled to suit the area you want covered and then locked in place.
You will need a drill for fitting. I would advise fitting it as high up as possible for two reasons, firstly you cove a larger area and secondly because it can be removed from its fixture to enable you to bring it inside to charge so sticky fingers can remove it too.
After reading reports and reviews on various single cameras I decided to up budget and get a system. There were couple in contention but after scrolling thought reviews on here decided on the eufyCam2c. Opening the box reveals what feels like a quality well finished product. Installation is a doddle. Two screws to fit base plates and jobs done. Batteries fully charged and fitted, app downloaded and then just a case of angling the cameras to view desired areas. Quality of videos are brilliant when you zoom in and I don’t feel the need for any better resolution. Picks up movement well and phone alerts are instant. App lets you choose date and then shows thumbnails of all videos for that day. Night vision is excellent although cannot comment on spot light quality as our house has night time lighting. In Spain on holiday at the moment and is comforting to be able to check on house at any time as well as seeing alerts. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this system and don’t let the negative reviews put you off. I paid 170 after voucher code and is definitely worth every penny.
Having researched various product options and having read reviews I decided to opt for this item. First impressions. Very well packaged and presented. The cameras are quite small but this is not a criticism. They are solid, have some weight and appear well constructed. Everything you need, except for basic tools, is contained in the box. The home or base unit is compact and therefore can be located in an out of the way area so as not to be obtrusive. Setting up was relatively straight forward by paying attention to the rather limited, but easily read, instructions. I would say, at this point, that the on line help web site is very comprehensive and would probably help to sort out any problems you may encounter. Fixing of cameras to walls is straight forward with the assistance of templates and screws supplied. Time should be taken in locating the base station as this can dramatically increase or decrease the Wi Fi connectivity to cameras especially when used without the supplied Wi Fi hub connection lead.
The signal strength, to cameras, can be checked via the app. Make sure you download both the Eufy security and home app BEFORE setting up. The apps are comprehensive and easy to navigate. When positioning cameras do not mount too high. Select a height within the sated maximum and minimum. This has a dramatic effect on the sensitivity of the detection function. Field of vision is excellent therefore making additional cameras, in some applications, unnecessary. Additional cameras, if required, can be easily added later. Night vision is acceptable without use of the led light function. Overall, I am more than happy with this item. I would recommend it especially if the discount voucher is still available.
This is a great camera system but a few minor niggles. It can miss some people walking up the path and record insignificant things like cats. If you up the sensitivity it then produces too many false events. However battery lasts a long time and is quite impressive. Picture quality is very good. And I like the live view to check on the house when not there. I would like it to record constantly for a 24hour period which would allow me to rewind to a certain time to see if it had missed anything. But all in all not a bad kit. Not as great as a hard wired 24hour system but perfect for keeping an eye on things.
Night vision is really good, especially when the spot light is activated. The motion detection works well and notifications arrive with only a short delay. Picture quality can always be better but I opted for 1080p as these are the first set of cameras I’ve purchased. What impresses me the most with this system, is how simple it is to set up, the audio from the base station is brilliant and overall I’m very happy with my purchase. One camera covers the whole of my garden and the other covers the whole of my driveway. I hope the batteries last a long time, it’s great being able to check the battery life on the app and it seems to go down 1% each day so I anticipate having to recharge every 3 months. I’m not sure how 6 months is achievable, unless the motion detect is switched off and on each day which to me defeats the object of having 24/7 surveillance. Of course the other great factor in opting for Eufy is not having to pay for subscriptions as the files are saved in the base station. Overall and after just a couple of days, I think the cameras are fantastic!
Purchased this product after a great deal of reviews and specifically picked this one as a result of their being no subscription charge. Although this chargeable option allows you to access the videos online, downloading any you need to keep onto your phone is the best way to do it for free.
Since I live on a main road, and want to cover my drive, the motion detection was set to ‘humans’ and that works a treat.
Eufy say that the cameras should last on 1 charge for about 2-3 months (and one camera by by front door has not needed charging yet since purchase, but the one looking out onto the road has had 2 charges in <2 months (which is why I have then purchased the solar panel for the camera on the drive - another review on that soon).
Overall, the picture quality is great. Talking to people through the device is a little ropey as the sound is very tinny, but that's not the reason I got the camera's since I can now see who to open the door to and who not.
Buses, cars, lorries are all avoided on the camera with 'human' detection, although it's noticeable that the video can take a couple of seconds after the detection to film the 'incident' - but this is no great shakes.
Night vision is pretty good, an infrared sensor picks up the person well, and if you use the inbuilt light at night, the picture is pretty much colour.
Did I make a good choice in this camera over the others - I think so.
I’ve tried a number of wireless security cameras and have been very disappointed with there ability to stay connected to the NVR or App. The ease of set up of these devices is sheer brilliance with an extremely small and well designed base unit meaning it sits happily next to the router without any unsightly aerials. Motion detection is excellent with flexibility to determine the zones for each camera. The Wi-Fi range on the cameras is excellent with the camera furthest from the base unit 20 m plus reporting good signal. The last wireless cctv camera I tried wouldn’t reach, even with a repeater.
I’ve saved the best to last in the fact that these are rechargeable meaning there’s no longer the phaff of running any cables to any of the cameras.
You might tell I’m pleased with this set and have also added a further camera with utmost ease.
We have two blind spots around the sides of our house so just wanted something easy to fit and simple to follow instructions. This is a wireless camera so perfect for what we wanted. Pictures are clear and if someone strange is about you can speak to them through the device. You can record anything that’s going on as you are watching it. It works while you are out so if someone is about you can see them on your phone. Quality is really good and really happy with it. Lots more to learn about it so still learning at the moment but very happy with it so far.
Having tried a variety of other battery camera systems from Canary, Xiaomi, Ring etc, we’ve settled on the Eufy system as being the best.
Pros
All cameras load super-fast (literally a couple of seconds) so capturing movement is reliable. And that’s even with the system being connected to a MiFi as opposed to Home WiFi
Great daytime picture quality, caveat is night time (mentioned below)
No subscription! (I’ll also caveat that most other brands have started with a no-subscription model but soon changed their tact after a few months. Hopefully Eufy isn’t one of those brands!)
Hooked up to a small solar panel (we bought the Reolink ones as they were cheaper and higher Watt), the battery is staying nicely topped up despite dismal weather in the UK
Cons
I’ve dropped a star on Night Vision as the cameras seem to be impacted more by night ‘dew’ on the lens than other brands. Not sure why that is but something to be aware of
HomeKit support requires the Homebase to be connected to your home WiFi. We’ve got ours setup at our allotment so can’t avail of HomeKit remotely unfortunately so something to bare in mind if you plan on using it at a remote location without a HomeHub.
Overall we’re very happy with the performance of the system, so much so that we’ve started to purchase other products in the Eufy family.
I have used this kit for a good while now and I am very happy with it (2 camera kit), I will be buying more Eufy stuff now as its such great value and your not tied up with monthly fees. You buy a quality product and you can use it free of charge! thats how it should be! other companies can learn from this one as they get greedy and want their guaranteed income.
the picture quality is great and it always sends notifications to my phone when it detects a person. the night-vision is also really good and the built in light is a good bonus as it can ward off potential intruders. all cameras can be controlled from your phone and it connects to your main home box so it doesn’t save things on the cloud per se. which i like as i keep all my footage on the main box, it has enough storage to keep alot of days worth of footage.
i will be buying the Eufy doorbell now and this can simply be added to the box that comes with these cameras, so its modular in that sense.
cant recommend Eufy enough and i also own a couple of their robovacs which out perform a traditional quality hoover and have lasted very well in the last 2 years.
great company who make great products and dont ask for a handout every month!
if you are fed up of fees and wallet draining products this is the one to go for! buy once and thats it! FANTASTIC!!
So I got these to replace a good quality wired system that I wanted to upgrade. So after removing the old system I set to work using this and to be totally honest setting this up was a total walk in the park. Instructions super simple and I paired the two cameras I got plus the additional two I purchased in no time at all. The app is the key to it all as it takes you through the set up with ease. As for the system, whilst it is simple to set up it is also simple to configure with so many options. I have tweaked the configuration to support my needs and I am sure I willl tweak it some more in the coming days.
Image is brilliant
Supports 16 cameras (I have since bought a 5th)
Night vision is really good and has flashlight option to enhance further
Speech pickup from the camera is excellent
Speech transmit is pretty clear
Optional alarm to scare people off
Human only pickup options to avoid false alarms from animals (you can have the animals on if you wish)
Seemingly limitless configurations of sensitivity, zones etc
Configurable notifications
In short I have used a few systems and this has been the most simple to install and has some of the best results. There are more expensive ones in the range but this is looking good so far.
Well done Eufy great produc
We bought 2 cameras, one to cover the front of the house (front door, garden and driveway) and one to cover the rear of the house (back door and garden). Cameras are really easy to charge up and install. The camera come with a template that can be stuck onto the wall to enable screw holes to be drilled. The base of the camera units can then be tightened on to the wall on the camera then screws hand tight on to them. Once the smart phone app is downloaded and the cameras are connected, which is really straight forward. You can move the cameras around to get the field of coverage you want, this is simple to do when viewing the image on your smart phone. When people come to the front door I receive an alert on my mobile phone and a short video is recorded in case you want to save the image. Each camera allows you to set a field of activation using a square / rectangle shape so that you can avoid false activations, for example people walking down the street and not on your property.
Been using the cameras for around a month now and I am really pleased with them.
I purchased this system in April 2021 for 160.00, which feels like a more realistic price. Easy to install outside in porch to cover drive and front door and close enough to the hub and my ethernet switch to give consistently strong wi-fi connections. Although both the cameras are set up in exactly the same way and get the same number of activations, one of the cameras is showing just three bars of battery life left, while the other is still showing it is fully charged after one months usage, so I question battery life claims. I recharged both cameras a month ago, in case this result was because one camera had not been fully charged, but the same thing has happened again.
The build quality is pretty good, the mounts could be stronger, and it would be nice if the camera positions could be easily maintained when cameras are removed for charging. Both my cameras have some weather and direct sun protection.
The app is simple and fairly efficient, although the constant network charge warnings get a bit annoying, especially when my smartphone is connected by wi-fi to my home network. I tend to review the images on a daily basis and delete them from the base station, no point in filling the base station if nothing out of the ordinary is happening. I’m happy with them at the price I paid, not so sure at 200.00 plus. Just bought an additional camera as offered at a cheaper price, so will replace the camera which depletes its battery quickly and bring that one into the hall where it can be charged more easily.
I have used the Eufy Security cameras for a couple of weeks now and am really impressed. It was dead easy to install and set up and each camera gives an excellent field of view. We have just been away and it was great to check on anyone on our property from a couple of hundred miles away. The images are very impressive and the quality is plenty high enough for identification purposes. The sound is good from the camera but when you talk to a visitor, the sound quality is not great but is good enough to understand. The size of both the cameras and the base station are smaller than I expected but this is a good thing. I ca not yet comment on the battery life but my overall impression is that this set up is great for the money, no extra fees to pay, and Is of great quality. When they are on offer again, I will be buying an additional camera.
Having had a cheap security camera in years past, i knew the risks of a poor security camera: false alarms all day and night, only recording events many seconds after they begin (if at all), zero night vision range and clarity, failure to record wildlife standing in front of the camera, crap connectivity, cables everywhere. Looking to upgrade, I saw the reviews of lower cost units on amazon with these very same complaints … however the Eufy stood out. It was prime day, price was as low as it goes, so i went for it. Truly a breath of fresh air. Human identification is incredible, and there are none of those problems typical of cheap/old technology.
Only issue was, the homebase wireless unit must be connected directly to the router (or, key point, to a wifi extender / repeater). While the Eufy wireless had much greater range than the wifi itself, it wasnt enough to get reliable signal near front door and patio areas. The cameras complained the signal was too weak (but still basically worked). Fortunately I already had a wifi extender to service these areas which had its own ethernet port – I jacked in, thinking it might not work (this solution is not covered in the documentaion), and it worked perfectly, as if it were plugged into the router. So far no creeps, but lots of delivery guys and the kid running to and from the trampine, and NO CATS, for a change.
Looked at various wireless cctv packages. I have two y-cams as well which are fine and compliment these Eufy cams. So far so good, easy to set up, great pic quality and very discreet camera with decent build quality. Ordered a third camera too, didn’t take long to place on side of house, fully topped each battery up first so will be interested to see how long the charge lasts.
I’ve turned off the spotlight feature as we have High output LED PIR lamps anyway. Left the infra red lights to come on if motion is triggered but will see how that pans out with the main PIR lights anyway.
I’ve placed mine high enough so they cannot be reached that easily but saying that not sure what any facial image quality will be like. They are sensitive all 3 picked me up and triggered sharply but we also have fast fibre broadband which must help.
Will update if necessary but happy with purchase so far.
My wife has the shared link too for the app and can see all 3 cameras.
Looks like you can expand zoom the image anyway by pinching etc which could be useful for screen shots.
Update-night vision is very clear and the microphone picks up well quite sensitive.
I bought these to cover the front and back of my house. I then changed my mind and one is now covering the front of my house and the other covers the front of my opposite-neighbours house.
They are easy to use, to share with neighbour and to program (I used schedule). The imagery quality is exceptional imo. The seller was responsive to a question I asked. I like that the video is stored locally in the ‘brains’ unit so I don’t have to pay storage fees or worry about losing the video if someone breaks/pinches a camera. They also look nice.
Things to bear in mind:
1 – the notifications are set per camera, not peruser so if my neighbour wants to set ‘their’ camera up to notify of late night shenanigans then I will also get the notifications. (This wouldn’t be an issue if we had our own separate systems of course).
2 – The motion sensor works on IR (I believe) which has a range of about 8m. So even if the camera can ‘see’ movement in the day, if its further than 8m away it won’t trigger the recording. Triggering with IR is the best way of doing it – otherwise every time a leaf moved it would trigger.
3 – it does take a few seconds to detect motion so might miss the beginning of any action.
4 – It seems you have to either have both the speaker and microphone on or off. Disabling just the speaker or just the microphone doesn’t seem possible.
5 – The mount only lets you point the camera +/- 45 degrees L/R or up/down so if you want to look sideways along a wall you’ll need a bracket.
Very hard to find a good spot between catching all the motion you want and picking up leaves moving. That being said I have blink also and this if far better! Picture quality is great, user interface is great, battery life once you find the right mounting height and select area+sensitivity is pretty good. I’m in a high traffic area and I see around 3 months per charge and a charge via the base station takes about half a day). This does not beat a constantly recording wired system however I like it and have added the pan/tilt camera and am considering the doorbell.
I was debating whether go with Ring or Eufy. I didn’t want to have to spend extra each month in order to benefit from saved clips. So I opted for Eufy throughout the house.
Packaging is great and comes with everything you need. Installation is really simple. Just follow the instructions on the app and mount the camera and you’re good to go.
Setting personalisation is really easy too. Just go into the app and set your motion strength and target area.
I was slightly concerned about the battery, but actually it’s lasted longer than I was expecting. I charged mine at 20% last weekend and had been installed for 3 months. I’d expect I would have got another month possibly out of it.
The one downfall if there is one is the night vision. Its good, but not brilliant. It doesn’t pick up our cars number plate on the drive, but most things are generally pretty clear.
All in all, I’m really impressed. They look good, easy to install and the home hub is great as well as I’ve connected another 2 cameras and a doorbell as well. No issues with WiFi signal as yet.
I upgraded my Arlo system with this on a black Friday deal.
It was easy for me to install. I followed the guided and app.
The cameras fitted into the Arlo brackets. Wifi strength is good. The picture quality is excellent. I like the facial image the camera records.
Although the night vision is black and white I have a separate security light that covers a similar area to the camera and the camera records in colour.
Big plus for me is that I have no monthly subscription.
I’m thinking of purchasing another camera and a doorbell.
Recommended.
Bought the Eufy 2C system to replace the Blink XT system which suddenly lost range, so no longer connected to camera at rear of the house.
System was up an running within minutes once cameras were charged, app walks you through the set up, base downloads the latest firmware and away you go.
Image is clear, have had no issues with motion detection, false alarms reduced using motion detection zones & human detection (though be warned that at night will detect all motion – vendor sees it as a security feature, so be warned if camera detection zone overlaps a road, trial & error will eliminate many false alarms). Battery life so far so good.
Some people have noted that the Eufy servers do occasionally go down and there may be a delay in notifications, but recordings aren’t affected, otherwise the notifications are quick & the image and sound are very good. Night vision works well & if using the spotlight feature produces good recordings in colour.
This is a great products, but there are issues which may or may not be a deal breaker for you. If you have Alexa devices you can use them to announce detection or show video, Google devices just get streaming capabilities (we just use the base station). If you are a home automation enthusiast this may not be the product for you, as no IFTTT integration or Smartthings. If Eufy could just enable it to play with 3rd parties, these would be a no brainer.
Even with these limitations, it’s still a great system, coupled with the NO subscription fees (unless you really want cloud storage). One to easily recommend
I did a fair bit of research ending up with Eufy 2C cameras which are made by Anker who are one of the best names. They come with a base station where you can keep all videos on a SD card free or pay a subscription for then to be held in the cloud. Most cameras including ring and nest require a subscription to store the clips when a camera is activated and this is needed if you are installing then for security. The ability to store your images rather than pay a subscription will save considerably over a few years usage. The cameras give very good images by day or night, have a sound recorder and if mounted near a door give you the ability to talk to anyone near the camera from your mobile phone. They are not the cheapest but cameras with poor quality images are not much use.
We have been using this now for about a month. So here is our thoughts on this product.
setup: Setup is pretty easy took about 30 minutes. Maybe the odd question was worded a bit weird, even rebooted for a firmware update — but top marks on this. installing the cameras is super simple, except they dont have an angled or ceiling mount for some reason. Again didnt bother us but you might need to jerryrig a solution there.
Cameras: in the pack is 2 cameras. The charge is supposed to last i believe 6 months. that i think is pretty wishful thinking on the part of Eufy. we fully charged the cameras (as requested in the installation) and it has dropped 1 pip on the battery bar in one month. Keep in mind our cameras are in the most heavily trafficked areas (front and back door) so they are pretty much pinging all day. i would guess charge every 3 months ( i will post here on first mandated recharge). only other possible concern might be the distance the camera could be from the base station. if you had a house with a lot of thick walls and long distances you might have an issue with camera connecting, but thats me guessing.
Motion Detection: we have set the person setting on, ie only record when a person was moving. Well maybe where we live cats look like people because we have one cat in particular, religiously setting this off at 4am every night. Could i reduce a star for that, well yeah, but does anyone seriously believe all that, i certainly didnt. i am sure it does work, just not in the way i thought. it can pick up faces which is very interesting, that does work surprisingly well. It is also good on identifying motion, that particular cat is on the extreme side of the motion area and it always catches the movement. One other small quirk i noticed, in night vision mode it doesnt sense a motion activated light that goes on and technically should switch off the night vision, not a big issue but perhaps an update will fix small issues like this.
Performance (movement to phone alert): this is where i have to say the system is pretty impressive. it takes around 5-6ish seconds to receive a notification. we have a pretty bog standard driveway ( 2 cars almost fit) and from the time i am in the catchment area of the camera to hitting the front step — i receive a notification. we did try the press to talk function. it works fairly well, voice is a bit tinny sounding but it definitely workable if you were reluctant to open your door and the camera microphone is very good. in this live interaction camera session its about half a second delay for us- definitely usable. They also have geo fencing which is pretty cool when we both leave it activates.
Reliability: this was replacing an older onvir based system of ip cameras which was buggy on its best day. the Eufy system has been flawless in this regard, 100% reliable. we even had a extremely rare power cut, the base unit just reconnected to everything automatically. Also because it stores the files locally there is none of the hidden monthly cloud charges involved . also if there was activity you need to record you can pull that to your phone.
Overall: have to say, we are super impressed. their app works and looks good also btw, the interface to apple phones is also pretty easy (you can use apple own home setup to take camera feeds). The mark i try to use on products like this is ‘would i buy it again?’ the answer to this is a resounding yes, hence the 5 stars. Sure its got the odd white lie in the marketing (dont they all?) but i am willing to ignore that for the many many other benefits. So if you were on the fence on this, i would say if you were to jump to this, you are very unlikely to regret it.
Jan 4th EDIT
2nd attempt, last edit bombed out and it was worded way way better than this edit 😉
So happy New Year all. Firstly the cameras are still on one pip on the battery icon. That is pretty darn impressive to me. I will let them run out or at least red line before charging and if there is any further info i will add here. It is worth noting that the front and rear cameras are both on one pip even though the front would be used more. There is some educated guesses you could make here on how the backend system works but it would be speculation. I suspect the batteries will age in a bit as they cycle through their lifespan but at the moment — way way better than i expected originally.
Motion detection: this is still tripped by the cat (system configured to people recognition). she had changed her schedule a bit so there is that.
Notification time: one thing i thought i should add. i mentioned about it took the length of an average driveway before my phone pinged. I had a think about this and my phone is going through a whole series of ‘things’ as i walk towards the door, not least of which is trying to connect to wifi. Im sure that is delaying the notifications by a small amount.
Final Thoughts: you know whats best about this? it just works. its now just part of our house, like a tv or fridge or your mobile device. it just works. i have not had to login to reboot, tweak, update, modify, or worst of all (and we have all done this) had to explain to family members how whats happening is a feature not a bug (onvir wifi cameras im looking at you). This system just works and honestly much and all as i love fidgeting with IT stuff, there is something really refreshing about software and hardware like this that just does what it says on the tin. Could it be better, yes but its the ole 80/20 rule now for Eufy i suspect where they have all of the basics done right now comes all the bells and whistles and trinkets…nice to have but not critical. So we would still buy this again. Very impressed with it resilience (no reboots, no resets etc). Its what we wanted here, something that is ‘set and forget’. Pretty sure we all want that or if not all, then the vast majority of people want. of you are a bit of a security camera expert and love doing the latest mods, then this is probably not for you. of you want something that just works; well all we can say is (as per the first review of this), would we rebuy?– yep we definitely would.

First thing to mention is just how simple and easy this system is to setup and install. I can honestly say it went like a dream… I bought 4 cameras and the hardest part was waiting for a couple of hours for them to fully charge! Setup is just a few short steps… 1) Install the app on your phone 2) Power on the base, plug the network cable (RJ45) from the base into the back of your router, scan the QR code on the base Within the app 3) follow the “Really Simple” camera additions in the app You literally add the device in the app, place the camera next to the base and press the sync button 4) Update the firmware using the app (one click update) 5) Select which mode you prefer (Better surveillance or better battery life – I went for better surveillance) 6) Charge the battery 7) Pick where you want to install the camera, use the template to drill two holes and screw in the “Base cap” of the camera mount 8) Screw the camera onto the mount, screw the mount on to the base cap and using the live feed on your phone, position for optimal picture.. Actual installation only took me about an hour for 4 cameras (Charging the batteries aside).. Video feed looks great and the App is really simple, capturing all motion videos per camera.. Still playing around with the app to see the other interesting features for my liking and I’m sure time will tell on the battery life, however really pleased with this setup..
UPDATE – After 39 days, one camera ran out of battery and needs to be re-charged. Yes it’s the busiest camera and after the initial period of use here’s what I’ve found – There’s the good and the bad…The good- Yes it’s easy to setup, yes it’s a good deterrent, yes you can hold a two way conversation live streaming however….. See the stats I’ve posted in the picture, in optimal surveillance mode, the battery only lasted 39 Days and I have to say, it does not capture all events, there has been times when people have walked past and was captured by my other two cameras, however was missed on this one. It seems to miss the recording when the person is only there for a quick moment, as the recording cannot capture quick enough… I believe this is more a problem with the full wireless setup, so if you want full surveillance all the time, skip looking at a wireless setup..
Read below for full review.
Visuals 4.3/5
Audio 3.9/5
Alarm 4/5
Motion detection 3.0/5
Latency 1.5/5
Battery life 2.8/5 ( At the moment, will edit this with the amount of days it lasted).
Visuals – The visuals are good, this really depends on the distance though. If the camera is too high, it won’t get a clear picture of your face, however, zooming in can slightly pin out the persons face. It also takes a snapshot of the persons face but at times it can be pixelated. Though regardless, it’s okay. Not 4k, but roughly 720p, pushing 1080.
Audio – The two way audio is pretty good, don’t really need Ring for two way audio. However, the camera’s audio does sound distorted depending on the setting of the voice, but still somewhat understandable.
Alarm – The alarms not too loud yet not too quiet. It would definitely make someone panic.
Motion Detection – I saw a lot about the motion detection and the reviews were mixed. If you set it to human, and a level 6-7 it would only record the person at the last second, so they can walk a few steps into the zone without being recorded, which is kind of bad in my opinion. However, if you set it to 7-9 the motion detection for humans would then detect animals? It’s slightly confusing and really inconvenient. The problem with this is that you want it always at high, but because it’s constantly turning on and off, the battery is wasting quicker. So the motion detection is kind of eh..
Latency – When using two way audio or looking at the live feed, you notice a certain 2 second delay. Which is unfortunate but you’re relying on wifi, so what can you expect? Regardless, it could be improved to have a slight delay and not a full two seconds.
Battery-life – I got the 180 days and to be honest, not sure how this is gonna keep up especially when I have to keep the motion detection high due to it’s imbalanced motion detection. I had it charged to 100, 18 days later it’s on 85%… Which I personally don’t think it’ll get to 180 days..
I had a problem where manually recording wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t save to my phone. To test if this was my phone, I used a different android device and the manual recording still didn’t save. I then tried an Apple phone and the manual recording saved. I contacted the development team and they had reviewed the issue and estimated that it would be updated in 3 days. It took 6 days which personally, I didn’t mind but anything can happen in 6 days so it was rather inconvenient. Once the app was updated to a newer version the manual saving worked on both android devices.
The staff were very helpful and polite.
Overall it’s a good product and if you’re looking for the real deal, don’t get wifi. Spend a few hundred on wired cameras with 4k. They may not include certain aspects like two way audio or flood lights or even alarms, but the 4k quality would be nice.
Great piece of kit. Setup easy. Very good picture images and also sound ( 1 camera at 2.5m and the other at 3.5 m above ground) it does pick up the voice pretty clear. Going into settings loads of features to play with- LED indicators for when camera active, night lights on/off, perimeter of detection setup via app, motion/ human only detection using AI ). So far – with my settings- battery is about 90% after 2 months. I do not need the night lights as underneath the lower camera I have installed a mains fed PIR LED lamp ( I recommend you that if possible so you don’t have to use the light built into the camera as this will obviously drain drastically the power).
I also added an indoor camera ( pet camera) that integrates smoothly with the others and the base.
Only 4 stars due to very limited-16Gb- internal memory card with no option to upgrade it. I mean, come on Anker, it’s 2020! An 128 Gb is only a tenner! Also an USB port that currently is useless and that could have been easily made to work as a memory expansion .
Overall I think is the best kit available at a reasonable price with local storage that doesn’t rely on cloud ( for which many others charge a fair fee). Highly recommended and it would be a 5 star plus when the memory storage is upgraded or the possibility of USB storage sorted.
I’ve had these for a couple of weeks now and my initial impressions are favourable.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, so setting them up was really simple.
Once set up the base station can be placed in a suitable position within the home, this helps get a wifi signal to both cameras. The base station contains the memory and looks like it has more than enough storage for my needs. The cameras can be charged one at a time using the base station and supplied usb lead, mine took 3.5 to 4 hours to charge from about 40%.
The cameras seem sturdy and once set up they have a good wide field of view, I found the base a little difficult to tighten properly on the camera, but they’re up and look good. Both daytime and nighttime video quality is to a good standard.
As they’re new and I’ve been using them quite a lot I’ve used about 5% charge per week, which means I probably won’t get the suggested 180 days from the batteries, but it’s still quite an impressive performance. Mines are positioned for easy access using a small step ladder, so taking them down to charge won’t be a problem.
The app works well, I’ve been tweaking my settings in the app together with the camera angle/position to find the best combination for my needs. I did have an initial concern as I couldn’t play back all of my videos on the app but after 1 false start, Eufy support sorted this out for me.
All in all, I’m very pleased with these cameras, the app and the level of support from Eufy.
I’ll update on future performance, battery life, durability etc.
Highly Recommended.
After days and days of reading reviews, watching videos and researching, it came down to the Blink system of the Eufy. I have had an unbranded video doorbell in the past, and the notifications were always very late, but with motion sensors I understand that there is a trade off between an always on, wired system, and a system that needs to spring to life. I should also mention that our internet connection is not the greatest (around 5-8mb on a good day) which also does not help (or so I thought!).
I was prepared for the usual lag and false alarms etc, but I have this system on highest sensitivity and having had it in for around 2 weeks now, I am really extremely impressed with it! We have a lot of triggers (around 100 a day per camera as we work from home ) but battery life is amazing considering (it should last at least 2 months at least at this rate if not more) which was a lot better than I anticipated. The notifications are so quick, and hardly anything missed when recording even with our dire internet too which is pretty amazing! I did note that this type of camera works best with crossing the field as opposed to walking directly towards it, so that potentially helps perhaps?
Mounting them is so easy, the Homebase has way better range than our BT hub too (old building, thick walls!) which was a nice surprise.
We have 2 Homebase units and 7 cameras in total, and the app allows you to scroll through all the cameras as if in one unit which is good too (I had trouble finding out if that’s how it worked, but yes- multiple hubs/ cameras are seamlessly all in once place in the app). The app is also very user friendly. One thing I would like though, is to see a battery % (as opposed to just bars) when viewing the camera, you can see a % but have to go into battery management within the cog which just takes a bit more time when checking a lot of them at once. Very minor point though!
One thing I will mention, is that when pairing the camera to the hub, if you have a lot of other electrical around, put them right next to each other (and keep them away from as much as you can!). I struggled for ages with the first one before I realised it just needed to be right next to it, and not right next to the other electronics in the office, then it was smooth sailing from there on it.
I feel credit where it’s due here, I am normally a little sceptical when something has very good reviews, but I think this system really ‘does what it says on the tin’ so long as you take the time to get the cameras in the right place (which is dead easy being wireless so you can experiment!) and the price for what you get it really fair considering what others charge.
Only potential down point for me is as others have said, the lack of changing the battery. In reality though, so long as it lasts the 300-500 charges it is supposed to even with our elevated usage it should last for years which is good enough for me!
I have held off writing this review until I have used the system in anger. I have had the system running for about 3 months. The good, this is really easy to setup and as long as you are comfortable with using an app on a phone or tablet its so easy. Range is pretty good too I have a house with very thick walls but even cameras that have to pass through 5 or 6 walls and the camera is a good 20 meters away. the not so good, I had a camera fail on me giving a foggy image after 2 months. Eufy support is not the best and the emails to the call center needed a good bit of chasing. That said they replaced the faulty unit with a few weeks and refunded me the postage. You just need to take a pic of the problem, the purchase receipt and the serial number of the unit. Battery life is no where the claims made, probably half that in my experience and I have the setting for surveillance set to mid way. Detection is good and the ability to detect humans versus a fox or a dear is really good. Things I don’t really like are that the amount it records when triggered is not very long, presumable to conserve battery life, although you can make this longer up to 120 seconds, although that drains the battery even more. There seems to be a bit of a lag from one recording trigger to the next as well, so if an intruder in on site a long time it doesnt seem to capture everything. I guess that you have to remember that this is a battery powered solution and so for that convenience you pay for it in other ways. All in all the system does what I want it to though
What a doddle to set up – easiest thing in the world!
One camera at the front of the house, close to the hub/router. The other is at the back of the house, 25/30 feet away from the hub and a lot higher than the hub/router
I can’t comment on the battery life yet, but it looks okay after a week, with lots of setting up, playing about, testing, watching live footage etc.
I have attached pictures so you can see the maximum angle the bracket will get against the wall. I wanted a 90 degree angle ideally, but as the camera angle is so wide the angle of the bracket is perfectly okay, as you can see in the picture from the camera, you can see the wall it’s attached too.
Only downside – The camera is quite slow picking people up coming up my front path, even with the maximum sensitivity. People are a good 6-10 feet up the path, almost at the front door before the camera spots them.
With all that in mind, I would buy it again and am contemplating buying a 3rd camera to put on the garage.
ANOTHER EDIT:
After settling on the final location for the camera at the front of the house (in the porchway) and despite the huge number of “events filtered by AI” which are basically camera wake-ups that were subsequently determined to be non-events (false alarms, like movement that was outside of the area I’d defined in the app) I’ve just brought the camera inside for a recharge. It lasted 5 and a half months – which I think is impressive!
I’m keeping the review at 4 stars because I still occasionally get people at the front door without triggering the camera, but it’s infrequent enough for me to be happy with these cameras’ performance. (it must be something like 1-in-40 times)
EDIT:
I’ve had these around 3 months now so here’s an update.
I had to move the driveway camera so it’s in my porch looking out at the driveway, so that the PIR wasn’t being triggered by people walking along the pavement. For a while I was still getting false alarms, but then they stopped. I don’t know if it was a firmware update that did it – I *think* so, it looks like the motion-zones are now being honoured properly… take a look at the screenshot from the app – nearly 2000 events detected and filtered out.
But all of these filtered events mean that the camera is still continuously waking up and sending data to the “hub” for analysis – is that killing the battery life? Well, incredibly (again see the screenshot) it looks like I am indeed on for 6 months runtime from a single charge. Which is pretty impressive.
So I’m upgrading this review to 4 stars – though there’s still a few things to bear in mind:
* The PIR – PIR sensors aren’t very good at detecting things moving directly towards them from directly in front, so you’ll still need to make sure you angle the camera’s field of view so that any likely foot traffic passes across it’s view rather than moving directly towards it. I still occasionally get a missed alert from my driveway because of this.
* Geofencing – allows the cameras to switch between configurations when your phone is away from home (we have driveway always active, with backyard only active when we’re out). It’s a little slow to return into “Home” mode, but that’s a minor gripe.
Finally, 2 suggestions for Eufy (if they read these reviews):
* Snooze – you can tell a camera to stop detecting for 30 minutes or upto a few hours, which is useful if there’s some continuous activity on your driveway.
This is handy but guessing how long you want to snooze for isn’t easy! How about an option to snooze until a time where there’s been no motion detected for X minutes?
* How about producing an “always on” mains powered camera? I know Eufy’s “thing” is batteries (being owned by Anker), but the option of adding a camera that continuously records would be very useful (Infact I’ve now bought a standalone wifi camera and have used Eufycam’s RTSP support to integrate the lot using Zoneminder on Linux – but that’s a whole other story).
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Loved the idea of these cameras, and the kit looks and feels well designed.
However… because of how these work, they’re useless to me.
Why? The cameras basically spend most of their time asleep, and a passive infrared sensor – a PIR like an outdoor motion sensor floodlight – wakes them up when it detects heat-based movement. Once the camera’s awake, it looks for motion in the “zones” that you can define (which is overlayed onto the image that the camera sees). If the motion was in that zone then it sends the alert and records the video. Great, right?
Unfortunately for me, this doesn’t work well when you’ve got a short driveway. With the cameras mounted at the front of the house and with 4 or 5 metres between the house and pavement, the cameras were initially waking up all the time and then 10% of the time sending an alert – even though the motion was outside the zone that I had defined. The other 90% of the time it was correctly doing nothing – but, those wakeups cost me 5% of the battery in a single day! That would give me maybe 3 weeks of battery life instead of 6 months.
Turning down the PIR sensitivity is the only way to tune this. However for me, anything other that the minimum setting (number 1) still causes pedestrians to trigger the camera. But with the minimum setting, I now only have a 50/50 chance that someone walking up to my front door actually triggers the camera.
I’ve tried angling the cameras in different ways (PIRs aren’t very good at detecting things moving directly towards them, they prefer things that cut-across their field of view) but had no luck.
So it seems these cameras are ideal for areas like alleyways and backyards, where you’re normally not expecting much movement. But if you have a *short* driveway/backyard/frontyard with motion beyond the perimeter then you’re looking at false alarms or massively reduced battery life.
I’m going to continue to play with settings and angles for the next few days but it’s looking very likely I’ll be returning these to Amazon (I’ll update the review with the outcome)

Set up was really easy. WiFi works fine in my 3 bed semi UK. I have brick walls and found I get full bars on front and back cams. My only problem was with placement as the front camera can not be placed out of direct sunlight so the motion sensor at certain times of the day can be glitchy. I have adjusted it and has been improved performance. But be aware direct sunlight can cause a problem at this point hopefully a future software upgrade me resolve it. Really wanted to upgrade to the eufy battery powered doorbell but at this point is only available to purchase with the Home Hub which I already have. I can’t wait till they release it as a single item.
Does it exactly what they say it does on the tin. Easy to setup and install. No wires and battery life seems good (battery health for each camera is shown in the app)
Lots of options for power management and monitoring activities where you can set zones (squares) for it to monitor for each camera. Then you get notifications to your phone/iPad and it tells you if it’s spots a person or the face pic of the person too.
Crystal clear full HD video. Easy save to your phone from the app.
Great for front door meet and greet as there is a speaker and you can talk through the app to the person directly through the camera speaker.
Everything works when you are remote also over 4G.
I like the fact there is NO SUBSCRIPTION and everything is saved to the Homebase. Prob 3-5
Months worth before it deletes for 2 cameras.
Definitely recommend this maybe even a 3rd camera but you can always buy additional cameras later. Love it!
After searching months for a security system that fitted my needs I fell upon this system from eufy. I read a few reviews and watched a lot of videos about it and it always came out on top of comparison with other similar products.
It has so far been up 2 days and is easy to use (app/homebase/camera/instructions). Easy to mount and covers all of our driveway with the wide angle view. The motion detection is amazing and the human only view is also very good, giving a detailed up close shot of the persons face including the clip saved to the hard drive and shown on the app.
It is excellent value and I plan to use the 2nd camera very soon.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a great value for money, easy to use, smart looking system with lots of great features.
I tried a few other options before settling on these and I now confident eventually, i have mad the best decision! I am a bit of nerd when it comes to home security and I have been looking for a while for the best alternative to my wired system.
Initially I tried Moobox’s and the blink solution and a few other cheaper wireless alternatives but the image was not great, the sound quality worse and the battery drained very quickly. Additionally the alternatives had their base station tethered via ethernet cable to the router which made getting the signal around a larger house untenable.
So after getting the Eufy 2c, I set the system up and can now confirm the good, bad and ugly!
The Good.
1.) Cameras are well built and the set up was easy. The accompanying App (download it first) walks you through the set up. I had them running within 5-10 mins( unmounted )of opening the package.
2.) Build quality seems pretty good. It is a sealed unit so water getting in shouldn’t be problem.
3.) Picture quality is good and on par with the Arlo but black and white night version is the best I’ve seen.
4.) The sound quality for the two way talk feature is good and loud (better than my nest doorbell.
5.) The microphone is really good and you can hear someone talking clearly (when listening through the app) up to 30 feet away!
6.) The app is very good and allows you to set up the cameras to fit a number of modes to suit what ever type of recording you want (length, Re-trigger intervals) etc.
7.) The base station can be set up to be wireless operating via WIFI (but only after it has initially been set) so no need to have it tethered to the router. This is a good feature and a must if you live in a larger house or live in a older building with thick brick walls.
8.) For all the apple fan boys / girls out there you can link it to apple’s home kit.
9.) The Human detection feature limits the number of false alerts. ( being triggered by cats, dogs and branches)
10.) Anti tamper alarm and the Led light are good features to have.
11.) No extra fee paying cloud services once you’re set up. Your video clips are stored on the internal 16 gb storage of the base station which i prefer as it is better for your overall privacy.
The Cons
1.) Connecting it to apple HomeKit does drain the battery faster although I have not had them long enough to confirm the severity of the battery drain.
2.) The ability to add this to Google Home and Alexa is advertised but seems to be a little sketchy at best, It works occasionally but more often than not it has failed to connect. I am hopeful an update will fix this.
3.) When the human detection AI feature is enabled it seems to shorten the range of the motion detection which is advertised at 30 feet.
4.) As of writing this review the internal storage is limited to 16 GB. I think this will give you about 20-25 days storage on a 2 cam system with moderate volumes of clips being stored. It does state within the app that they will soon allow customers to increase the storage by adding a usb stick in the back of the Homebase (upto 128gb) but this is not available at the moment.
The ugly.
1.) Although the price of tech is always reducing, I still feel these are still expensive and will be cost prohibitive for some people, as mentioned above other cheaper options are available but in general when compared with the ones I have tried and subsequently had to return these are superior. Unfortunately you still only get what you pay for!
In Summary.
These are the best wireless cameras i have tried to date. I installed the more expensive Arlos cameras at my Mums house and although the are also great products and their integration with google home and Alexa is more seamless than that of the Eufy 2c, I still would purchase these instead due better price, easy of use, set up, WIFI connection, and sound quality.
We had a 7 camera set up on Arlo, but they continuously missed recordings and we had major charging issues!
Eufy is not perfect it does miss 1/20 videos but if you have multiple cameras this is not an issue as one is sure to pick up!
Eufy has exceptional range far greater than Arlo! Siren is much louder, Microphone is better!
Better battery to!
Bad Points : Cloud Recording is a must for us and costs 7.50 a month (free on Arlo), Also App is slightly clunky.
Above are two pictures, one taken on Arlo one taken or Eufy (Zoomed by 6x)
So far (3 days) I have been very impressed with this system.
I have turned the sensitivity up on mine as it didn’t detect me walking to my car, since doing this it hasn’t missed a thing . Another advantage is that it seems to start recording nice and early, and the night vision is actually in colour
Set up was very easy, and you are guided through it by the app. The sticker to aid with placement is useful.
My only concern is the battery life. I hope it lasts the distance. I would recommend charging the cameras before you set up.
The AI detection means it doesn’t alert me to my cats, only to people, which I personally prefer, you can turn this off if you wish.
There are a multitude of other features at a very good price.
I hope that eufy expand their range in the UK as the video doorbell would be a useful addition, as would window or door sensors or a kit to permanently wire the cameras up to power.
The app is polished and easy to use.
I have not had any problems with range.
I will update this review with battery life, app support comments.
Update:
Several weeks in the camera is still going strong with multiple activations. Battery life is exceptional. Image quality is great.
I turned off the spotlight feature and the IR as these effectively have colour night vision. Unfortunately this means that the sensitivity at night isn’t as good as it could be, but if you turn on the spotlight the issues is resolved.
The only other issue is sometimes the app doesnt always send me notifications. I suspect this is because of the aggressive battery management on my device. I have also noticed this occurs if I am not on top of deleting alerts. I still have full confidence in the system .
Update:
The batteries are barely depleted after 3 months of use- still think this is a fantastic system. The issue with alerts appears to be down to my phone- and I have to make sure I delete alerts- I’ll get in touch with eufy to see if there’s anything further they can do. There can sometimes be a delay in receiving alerts. Nonetheless, it doesn’t miss anything (I am home all day so I would know if it did!), and I am a big fan of this system. I love having the recordings accessible via my phone. I hope they re release the doorbell to the UK, I may also install the door sensor and floodlight cam.
Update: 7 Months in and I;ve finally had to charge the battery for the camera. Brilliant. Also worth noting if you turn off the spotlight and the IR the night vision is in colour! So clearly a high quality sensor being used.
I am still finding the odd delay in it notifying me of action. I think this is down to the settings on my phone limiting the apps ability to send notifications. Generally speaking I have no issues though. I also found that for the first time after heavy rain there was some condensation on the lens. This disappeared after a day or so and hasn;t occured since.
I have found the system reliable and useful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. App is constantly updated too.
Initial impressions – well impressed! I have tried Netatmo; Ring; Blink and Hive so am well qualified to judge. Like Netatmo eufy doesn’t require a subscription nor cloud account which is a BIG bonus – I own my data not Amazon or Google!!! Build quality and image quality is excellent and it streams MUCH quicker than either Ring or Blink. Blink survives on batteries but all the others require mains supply – not eufy. With a promise of 180 days on rechargeable batteries it outshines Blink by far. So far, so good. Would I recommend? Not a shadow of doubt. Don’t bother with the others, go for eufy
So I have waited a good month before writing this review and that’s because I wanted to get it accurate.
Ok so what do I think of the Eufy Cam 2C system? In a nut shell it’s a perfect as its going to get for me.
PROS
Wireless
Easy Installation
2 way audio to speak to callers
Spotlight
Compact and not too instrusive.
Excellent quality picture but good do with a shield over the top of the lens for when its raining as it’s pretty useless then as you cannot see a thing through it.
Excellent night vision and the built in spot light works a treat.
Excellent developing of app and constant updates.
Seamlessly integrates with Alexa and my Echo Show 5’s, you ask for it to show the front door and after a little buffering boom there it is.
Geofencing addition to the app that came 3 days ago, nice touch so it can automatically go into home and away mode. Good thinking by the developers there. Nice
I have had to speak to customer services a couple of times and their service is faultless especially from Faith B and Dora.
CONS
This is the main reason I have given it 4 stars.
I have 8 cameras now and each and every time you add a camera to the system it needs up dating to the latest firmware which to be fair does go quite smoothly until after boot up. Now this is where the problem starts and I have figured out a work around until Anker finally find out why this does this ( I have told them numerous times what the problem is but they cannot replicate it but I can 8 times so clearly they know something I don’t). When you first install the camera and lets just call it Back Yard and then check in the app firmware is up to date and it tells you to update so you do, no problem all goes well, then when it reboots it fails to register movement or records. I have the red LED status on until I’m happy its working then turn it off which is how I know its not recording. So after all else fails you remove it from the system only to name it back again as Back Yard, back to square one it still won’t record. Turn off base station and reboot, still no improvement, so by process of elimination I named it something else say Front Door, boom all working ok. So somewhere in the system it remembers the name that does not work so here’s my work around. Install initially and call the camera a number not a name, do all the updates, reboot Homebase 2, uninstall camera, reinstall camera but now call it the name you want to call it and it will work fine.
CONS continued
Until you get used to the cameras you will go through battery life like a dose of salts.
I want my front cameras to tell me if something is going on all of the time, we are a busy household and lots of people coming and going all day. One camera by the front door only lasted 18 days before needing recharging. But this is because it being triggered all the time. A camera round the back of the house is still showing full charge after 1 month. So if you want constant security its going to eat battery life.
If it rains they don’t do very well picture wise, my old system had a little hood over the top which helped shield the camera, these could do with the same and I am in the process of 3D printing my own.
Would be nice if Alexa could see the Homebase so that I could tell it what mode to go into without using the app.
SUMMARY
In short there is not a perfect CCTV system out there that covers everything but for me Ankers Eufy Cam 2C is probably the closest its going to get. In short I love it and have bought a second homebase kit to use at my caravan on a wifi dongle.

I have been using my 2 camera 2c kit for a few days now. Currently set to the highest sensitivity and all motions while I play with it and it’s not missed anything that I am aware of. There is a couple second delay between the motion and the recording starting but this is not a cause for concern for me.
I have the base station plugged into the router in one of the bedrooms at the front of the house while the camera is a few meters away above the front door and it’s at full strength connection.
The second camera is at the very back of the house through the kitchen and extension. The connection has only dropped 1 bar to the base station. This was a relief after seeing reviews about poor range.
Interestingly, when I was testing the location of the front door cam, when I moved it to the other side of the door, it did struggle to get connection but that might have just been me or the mounting guide tutorial as that always seemed to take longer to live view then just live viewing the camera normally.
Setup took minutes and mounting was easy. Just use the template provided to mark where you need to drill and usedm the wall plugs and screws provided.
Issues: on a foggy night it picks up a lot of mist particles rendering it pretty useless as the light from both IR and spotlight pick up on them.
I like using the spotlight at night which comes on once movement has been detected (recent update apparently). I have noticed the light comes on for a second, back off and then back on before staying on. A message on a Facebook group confirmed that someone else is having the same issue.
I did live chat through the app to Eufy but they could not assist and asked that I email them which I will do. Still, it’s nice to be able to chat to them direct but it does appear to be USA based so the hours this is available might be an issue in the UK.
Picture quality is good but it can take a couple seconds for the camera to focus itself. I can hear people in the recordings very clearly. There is a couple seconds delay from what is happening to what you are seeing which can make 2 way talk difficult. Especially as you cannot hear what they are saying once you push the button to talk. I have noticed that if you are recording a live view, it will stop recording while you are speaking.
Night time picture quality using the spot light is ok. It can be blurry especially small faster moving objects like foxes which I have discovered like to play on my front and back garden several times throughout the night setting my camera off about 20 times causing me to mute it as it annoys the wife as my phone is going off so much lol.
Battery life seems good. I am using it to the max as the moment with everything turned up (approx 200 notifocations) and battery bars have not gone down. Then again it has only been a few days.
Is the camera perfect? No. But it’s new to market and Eufy seem pretty responsive.
I got this in the sale for 200 after doing quite a bit of research into the different cameras. Although you can get better cameras they are normally twice the price so value for money wise I am very happy at the moment.
Hope this helps!

I tried several options before buying these on release day, and I’m glad I chose them!
I first tried Amazon’s Blink XT2 camera, however found the image quality too poor, the hub signal too poor, and lack of support for HomeKit a reason to return them. Next I tried Arlo Pro 2, which have a good app, good quality image and HomeKit support but are very expensive and require a yearly subscription for cloud viewing (after the free trial). Lastly I thought I’d try the Eufy Cam 2C once they finally became available in the UK.
Pros:
– Good image quality – this is similar to other 1080p cameras (Arlo Pro 2) and I’ve not iced that the quality varies, interestingly being better quality if viewed in the Apple Home app.
– Battery Life: the 6 months battery life seems decent, but time will tell. My outdoor camera views a rarely accessed piece of land and the battery after two weeks is still 99%. My front door camera however is triggered 20+ times a day and is on 88%, though being in the hallway will be very easy to charge.
These also work when plugged in, so I may eventually run a USB cable for it to be permanently charged.
– Design. The design of these is very similar to the Arlo 4K. It feels solid, heavy and look like a very high quality build. The only downside for me is the wall mount could be a bit more stylish. I also wish these used a magnetic mount (like it’s bigger brother the EufyCam 2).
– Support. Eufy has nailed the support within its app, featuring live chat, telephone support and email support. I asked many questions and all were answered within 24 hours. When HomeKit support was rolling out they even managed have an engineer force it to my cameras earlier than it otherwise would have done during the phased rollout.
The app and device firmware have also had several updates in the few weeks I’ve owned these products, which is very reassuring.
– HomeKit!!! Featuring HomeKit at this price is amazing. Currently the streams can only be viewed in the Home app, but HomeKit Secure Video should be coming soon.
– No subscription fees! All videos are stored locally on the hub, so there are no subscription fees to pay such as with Arlo and Logi.
– The Hub. The hub (and cameras) can be set up to ring out an alarm when the cameras are in away mode, although this needs to be manually done within the app.
A killer feature of the hub is that it acts as a WiFi Extender for your existing WiFi network. It also doesn’t need to be connected via Ethernet like many other hubs. This means it can be placed anywhere, and has even allowed me to get rid of my dedicated WiFi extender.
Cons:
– the built in spotlight is a little redundant. I find the image quality far superior with the IR lights rather than the spotlight. But a nice feature to scare intruders I guess.
Overall I would highly recommend these cameras. Specifically the design is very modern and looks great indoors. For outdoor cameras I’d recommend their big brother (Eufycam 2) for the longer battery life.

Having trawled through dozens of security camera reviews I finally decided on the eufyCam. They are great little cameras with an impressive range of features and an easy setup procedure BUT as noted above the range is extremely poor. My Homebase is only 6 m from the first camera but the signal strength reads as non-existent, although I still get an image. In practice, unless you have very thin walls or a line of sight from Homebase to camera you are likely to experience a similar result so bear this in mind before buying.
UPDATE
A recent software update has solved this problem for me, so it’s now five stars for these cracking little cameras.
FURTHER UPDATE
Sadly, the situation was short lived, and the cameras have proved to be unreliable over the last six months with one or more offline for no apparent reason. Several updates to the Homebase and cameras haven’t resolved the problem. It seems long term reliability is a continuing issue with this system.
This two camera system spec meets all my requirements – no wires, good battery life, local storage, no ongoing fees, great camera functionality etc. However the biggest issue in practice is the poor range from the Homebase to the cameras. My cameras are approx 1.5 metres and 7 metres from the Homebase and have weak or poor signal strengths.
Also, one of the cameras had problems recording video clips (i.e it didn’t). I’ve changed some settings to disable the AI and it does now but intermittently. Eufy have now released a bug fix for this, and has other firmware and App improvements coming soon. The technical support has been very good, in fact outstanding – thank you Lancky.
