This provides all the network testing/investigating tools I need for my job. I work for a non-profit and I’m the only IT person, so this will pay for itself versus the guesswork, running around and/or hiring an expensive company to help fix wiring issues.
El precio es alto, pero a cambio tiene un medidor que le da todo lo necesario para diagnosticar cualquier avera, muy completo.
The functionality for validating the Cat5, Cat6 lines, ports and jacks is invaluable. Worthwhile to have the 7 remote id kit along with it to do quick troubleshoots and identification.
its a fluke and you can trust it will work and it reports accurately and its built well. In electrical and networking yu just learn you use fluke (or no one will take you seriously) . Ideal though has some good testing hardware.
It’s a little pricey but loving the fact that it can trace back through a switch and pinpoint wires being crossed during connector or keystone installations. Even tells you the distance and that there is a switch between device and remote device. Great troubleshooting tool for cat 5 and cat 6 installations.
No complaints. Everything in working order. So far so good.
Juste parfait pour suivre so montage de cable informatique. J ai pu tester la bande passante avec un switch et a fonctionne.
Je n ai pas pu tester encore la partie poe
I like that it’s a compact and easy to use device, must have to find cables and test connections.
Es gibt von mir 1 Punkt Abzug da ich keine Bedienungsanleitung dabei hatte und der Preis teuer dafr is
Great product and well worth the investment for effectively fault finding networks.
I needed and finally purchased .. no down side .. measuring cable is a must when billing for a cable run.
It’s a great tool, but the price is not where it should be. I would say $300 is fairer for something like this. If they added the ability to flash ports on a network switch like another cheap tool has, and maybe some other features the cheaper ones have, then I’d say it’s worth $500.
Great tool and fast analysis. Been using about 2 months and overall it’s great. Compact little unit fits well on my belt in provided case. My only gripe has been an occasional inaccurate reading. I got used to it giving a complete readout in seconds but occasionally I’ll get a false “split” or bad continuity reading that goes away after 10ish seconds. If it reads good right away it’s good but if it reads anything bad you have to give it a few to make up its mind.
I like it but not really an improvement over the older MicroScanner, new interface and bscklit which is nice. Expensive but…
I’ve used a lot of network cable testers over the years and they all had one thing in common. Overly complicated. But the MS2-100 is so simple and intuitive I didn’t even feel the need to look at the manual.
Unit arrived brand new no issues. The bag is obscure size but very nice. Accommodates my Toners and probes, different leads, ethernet cables, mspoe etc. cabke measurements are absurdly accurate which is excellent. Definitely looking forward to using this in the field.

I have a traditional toner that I’ve been using for years, but doesn’t have the capability that this one does with tracing POE.
Although this is an expensive tool since I have 100s of LAN connections it has already saved me more than it cost. The worker did a poor quality job of terminating LAN connections. this tester not only identifies the problem but at which end the problem exists.
and my farts smell even more horrendous since I’ve been using this tester.
Excellent product, was received as described, was delivered at the correct time.
So far, it has cleared a lot problems on my network.
Compact size, absolutely great cable tester. Works far better than others we owned.
It is a little pricey, but I still really like this tester.
The top part circuit board came off while removing a cable. It was easy enough to set back in. It is an easy to use item, very helpful on the job.
Device worked EXACTLY as I needed. Extremely easy tool that I was missing.
Works very well. Seems to be solidly built to survive use on a service truck.
This unit was purchased as we had started to get bad readings from our other brand of tester. This device has saved us hours and hours of troubleshooting.
If your a low voltage pro, then this tool is a must have.
After having a few cable testers bite the dust and knowing Fluke is known to never die, I bit the bullet and bought one. Now I have an urge to test all cables before use. 😛
It works, i am happy. Expensive, but buy once, cry once.
Great tool to find the problems and fix them so your network can function.
Expensive, but has saved me lots of time troubleshooting. I would recommend this product. Have not had any problems with it at all, unless you consider the fact my fellow co-workers keep borrowing it from me.
For the price of what was supposed to be a repair of our 10 yr old tester, we got this much updated and higher quality device. We have used this quite a bit since receiving and it has cut diagnostic times substantially. The graphic display and cable length continuity are very useful when chasing cable problems or tying to figure out poorly diagrammed wiring.
Excellent product. It does not wire map the distance of the fault. However, it doesn’t claim to either. So I love the product, but for the price, I think it should wire map the distance to the fault. It does POE, which is great!
This thing saved me hours already. I was suspicious of a CAT5 run at a customer’s location and hooked this up… it shows me a break and told me exactly where it was (204ft away). Found the damage exactly where indicated. It has already paid for itself in time saved.
Wish I bought this meter earlier. What an amazing tool. MUST HAVE if you’re running cable. Don’t run cable without it.
This unit works great. Our last fluke’s buttons wore out after about 10 years and this was the replacement. We love that it tells us the network speed, PoE status, wiring diagrams, wire length, and wire map. My biggest surprise is the speed that it can detect active jacks, which takes a couple seconds versus ten or more with our old unit.
I was resistant at first to buy it, but the very first day it saved my bacon.
Found one wire missing on a cable terminated by a electrician; so we moved/tested a second line that passed.
The feature of it recognizing a switch on the other end is great! Having the measurements appear is also a good bennie.
No more calibrations to do (like the past cable testers I’ve used) and even though it takes batteries, at least they are not proprietary.
Very fast to power on, get the readings you need and back in your bag. Love it!
I got this tool stolen from my. So I had to re purchase it. I love this tool
Great cable tester but you probably don’t need one this expensive. Lot of bells and whistles that you would not use.
I got this for use at home, since I have ten Cat6 runs throughout my house. I bought this rather than a $50 cheap continuity tester mainly so that I could identify where along the run the break was. The tester has a straight-forward interface, just connect the endcap at one end and the tester at the other. The tester worked as expected, I was able to quickly identify a few bad pins on the connection to a Roku box.
This Iran awesome and very accurate unit. Well worth the money.
It’s ok, but for the price you’d think it would be able to actually give you POE voltage readings.
I have been using this thing for years… Now Fluke has more fancier stuff out, but not quite like this… Well built solid… Instead of that MS2 Kit, I ended up buying all parts separately. I made the cable with the alligator clips myself. However I used the coax connector for mine. Making one for the ethernet is also a good idea…. On that note, I made rs232, Also made one for parallel ports. This thing saves so much time in guess work, makes troubleshooting a breeze. Especially with all these connections… You won’t be disappointed try it!
The fluke brand is more expensive than other products and priced above what a lot of people feel they can afford, but you do get what you pay for. I’ve been using one of these for about 4 years and it has become a invaluable tool in my bag. I’ve been primarily a network geek but after starting my own company I’m now dealing with Coax/CCTV/CATV and the toning and fault location have saved me hours of tracing out problem cable runs.
A life-saver when testing shielded CAT cables. I swear by this for work, way better than the cheapo continuity tester.
Fluke in networking is like Snap-on in tools. I made what I payed for this grate tools doing one job! I could buy cheaper brand, but after 20 years working on cars, and 12 years in computer and networking business, I know better not to buy cheap tools. I love it and I don’t know why I did not buy it before. I lost many hours at job site before
Need a cable checker that gives greater detail then sub 100 dollar cable verifiers but isn’t prohibitively expensive?
This unit is great.
his is very good deal product. the product come as describe. i use it everyday and work great. help full.
We install high end HD IP CCTV cams. I have gone through several cheaper and less expensive models. It just doesn’t pay. They don’t have the features of this unit and we have found more than one to be unreliable. This thing nails even small issues that we have been unable to detect reliably until now. Had I had this last week Iit would have saved me a long service call today.
Highly recommended.
Great instrument. Does cable length. Tests patch cables. Tests coax. Amazon is great for making purchase. Of you have any issues u can contact them.
This is a product that I did not absolutely need, however, it sure helps as a back-up when my Cable IQ may not be available. Good battery life. Nice and compact.
I love this unit, provides a distance measurment of the cable. I wonder what else the can pack into small box.
This little unit is very pricey (as is all Fluke products) but it really works. Has a lot of features not found on cheaper models. I like the fact I can plug it into a live port and it won’t blow up like others will. Even a live PoE port doesn’t do anything to it as it will tell you that it’s PoE and that’s it. Don’t lose your wiremap adapter (the thing that goes on top). If you lose it you have to buy another one since it needs both to work and that little plastic piece is over a hundred dollars by itself.
it’s very helpfull and givr you good report for your network it help me very match i love i
I have owned other testing tools that do basic pair testing and continuity testing. This tool is inexpensive and gives you most of the testing capability you would want for ethernet and coax cabling.
it will give you a pair map and the length. the length is determined without the end terminator being needed, cool. you can use the tool to detect POE or switch connections on the other end of the cable. And you can trace cables and ports and things with this.
the tester will not give you a qualification or a speed capability tho, i found the fluke site and forums to have varying information on this. so to be clear, it does not do it.
Dont know what i would do with out this little guy. Fluke makes good teting equipment. Anyone want to loan me 10k for the big boy one??
It is so useful. I have not had any problem with this equipment.
It is not necessary has previous experience in use it.
Fluke is the best and it works flawlessly. I love this Cable Verifier as it saves me a considerable amount of time and guesswork.
This Item is great. Just what i needed. Works just like it was stated. This item works better if you get the additional port testers.
Fluke is the product to buy if your a electrician i am so glad that they are dedicated to providing me with a good product.
Still learning the intricacies of the device but I find it very useful in my trade. I especially like the case.
Easy to use and useful, this cable verifier is handy for checking new cabling or verifying old cables. Easy to check for breaks, shorts and bad punch-downs.
I was hesitant to order this item because other reviews stated it will not indicate Ethernet speed. Perhaps they had an earlier version that did not indicate Ethernet speed, or else they just didn’t read the manual. Whatever, this network verifier does in fact indicate speed, ID, pairs, etc. flawlessly. I’m really not an icon lover so if I had anything negative to write it would be to use text instead of the stupid icons, or add text to the icons for those that can read. As always, I do not regret spending my dollars on anything built by Fluke.
I’m running cat-5 throughout my house and this is excellent for letting me know that everything is punched correctly. Great job of deliverying on time.
The Fluke MicroScanner2 cable verifier is a terrific network cabling diagostic tool. I went from a no-name brand “which pins are connected” tool to this beauty. It not only tells you which pins are connected, and how long the cable is … if there’s an issue with the cable, it tells you the issue (open or short) and how far down the cable the issue occurs. It is also a tone generator. It works with Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, and coax and tests up to 1000 MHz. I won’t go to a cabling job without this handy gadget. I got it from Amazon.com at a great price … I received it quickly and without issue.
The scanner helps our emergency crews repair and maintain temporary communications during Earthquakes, fires and floods.
Lives depend on temporary communication.
We can quickly resolve cable issues, to keep our crews communicating in the direst of times, when we have this scanner on hand.
We outsource our wiring replacement and running. I do some light troubleshooting if I suspect there is a bad patch cable or a termination that may not be working properly. This tool has more than enough usefulness for my needs and is more ruggedly designed than previous models I’ve had.
