East to build.Turned on both gadgets when received. Left them on for rest of that day and night. Nothing caught. Left them on next day and still nothing. Then that night I caught six of the flea critters. Superb! And that was after I’d used room higher, spray and powder. These look as though they will be brilliant deterrents…
I can happily report that this product does exactly what it promises. It lures fleas with heat and light from the bulb and then traps them in the sticky pad. When our cat was terminally ill I was slack with the topical flea treatment and even after flea treating her and using an insecticide spray we are still struggling after her death to clear the house of fleas. I ordered this when they started feeding on my teenage daughters. Each night we have trapped one or two of the detestable things so I’m very happy with the purchase.
Easy to assemble. Caught 40+ fleas in 12hrs overnight. Very pleased!!!
It’s no mean feat trying to apply flea spray to a tom cat that does like the Roadrunner as soon as he sees the silent action bottle within 10 yards. And without the jousting armour of Henry VIII I’d never survive any attempt to get tablets down his gullet…..he gets growly even when I apply the frontline one shot to the back of his neck
hese are brilliant. We had some many years ago when we had fleas from a pet so when our new pets had fleas and we found ourselves infested, these work so well to attract them and you can catch so so many and they cant escape. We have tried so many sprays and these will attract fleas day and night so we leave ours on all the time. Easy to replace bulbs with oven bulbs and they come with 12 replacement discs so you can change them every4 or 5 days if needed.
The lamp replicates the warmth of a ‘host’ and from experience has to be warm, the room ideally dark – I left mine on about 6 hours before dark and only when it started getting dark did the fleas start getting attracted to it. I only moved into my first house 2 weeks ago and only when I started decorating did it disturb the eggs/larvae of the fleas and start the awful cycle (read up on this online to understand how they operate) ie. eggs don’s all hatch at the same time, so you normally get bursts over the course of time. 14 days I think is the cycle. As well as having a full house fumigation I chose this product to help support it, and also give me peace of mind, once the sticky pads are clear I’ll be super happy. Would highly recommend.

I thought I may have fleas in the house but couldn’t seem to find out where they were so I bought this to test the living area, omg I was when I left it on over night and found 9 stuck to the disk the following morning ! I have now been able to treat the house. Very affective item.
Does what it says on the package. I was shocked to see how many of the little critters it attracted and caught. Once caught the disc is so sticky they cannot move.
This works so well that I am horrified to get up in the morning and see all the black dots on the sticky paper.
No chemicals – so I am delighted it works so well. I move it about the room to all the areas my cat has been. Really recommend this, it caught about 20 fleas the first night I put it on the floor!
Hi, I’m trying to contact the seller as I just received the Fly-Bye 2x Ultimate Flea Traps but as soon as I turned one of them on by switching the light on, one of the bulbs went! I don’t know if the trap it’s faulty or the bulb was the faulty one….. The other one is working fine. Anyone knows how to contact the seller please? The only option of communicating it gives me is by writing a review….. Thanks
After spraying our house all last year against fleas we found this brilliant trap that really works. So if you’ve got asthma or any breathing problems and your house has fleas from your favourite kitty or other pets this is ideal.
Simple to use assembly instructions comes also with a switch on the quite long plug-in wire to mains. Has no smell.
All you do is plug it in at night and in the morning….a tray of dead fleas. Its a good idea to move the trap around the room but you get two traps with this product so you can put the two into the same room or an adjoining room.
Thoroughly recommended
Ordered these as hubby said he had a flea bite, our elderly cat was euthanized a couple of weeks earlier so instead of buying the spray I bought this, I’m assuming they work cos we didn’t catch any fleas but then again I told him we didn’t have any in the first place, always handy to have tho just incase as neighbours cats love coming in for little visits x
Bought these as one of my cats has a skin condition caused by an allergy to flea bites and was suffering a flare-up. Despite washing all bedding/washable soft furnishings, vacuuming the house, deep cleaning the carpets and using a spray from the vets he was still scratching. I came across these flea traps and decided to give them a go. The trap is easy to assemble and plugs into the mains. I placed the traps in areas where my cats spend a lot of their time and left them switched on for a period of time (one overnight and the other during the day). After a few uses both traps had a couple of fleas on the sticky disc so pleased to see they are doing what they are intended for. Haven’t had any more show up on the discs so hoping that we’ve broken the cycle and got on top of the issue. Kitty seems much happier too and isn’t scratching anymore which is the main thing.

Definitely does the job on grabbing a large majority whilst you treat the house with flea spray etc…
Like with any flea management you still have to be persistent with treating the house with whichever additional flea killing product you buy.
I can imagine this also being a good product in the early stages when you think you may have fleas in the house but haven’t caught sight of them yet.
After assembling the trap then putting it on floor of mine and my husband’s bedroom, I went to the loo, Only to come out 3 mins later and to see 4 fleas had already met their maker.
I’ve bought many different makes over the years and to be fair all were good but this one is spot on.
Obviously the amount of fleas that become trapped will depend on how bad the infestation is and same goes for speed.
I have one just a few feet from my husband’s side of bed, One in my son’s room and one I already had downstairs in living room.
My son and myself don’t have a problem what so ever when it’s flea season but my poor husband’s legs…..
Ps my cats are indoor only cats.

The principle of the flea traps is excellent. I might have been sent old stock but I have a concern with the sticky pads that were sent with both of the traps I purchased ….. the sticky pads that came with the two I purchased were not sticky enough. The little darlings where not sticking to them and jumping away after basking in the sun ….basically it was a hot Jamaica beach for them until the pets returned. So I would suggest that the purchaser applies more glue to the sticky pad or the manufacture takes heed and examines their supplier of the pads. But the fleas enjoyed their vacation. Before anyone comments with regards to the application of the sticky pads…yes they were applied correctly, yes it was facing upwards and The unit was assembled correctly too
I bought the Ultimate flee traps last summer when we had a flee epidemic and my two cats were bringing the flees into the house, the traps are brilliant, the flees we’re attracted to the traps like metal to a magnet. I highly recommend these traps
These are quick to put together. I’d assemble in this order:
1. Remove threaded ring from bulb holder
2. Push bulb holder through upper portion of trap, put threaded ring back on to hold it all together.
3. Screw in bulb
4. Add three struts to top or bottom portion.
5. Place sticky disc in lower half, but don’t peel off backing
6. Push top and bottom portions together, lining up struts as you do do.
7. Remove backing from sticky disc. Slightly fiddly as you need to poke your hand into trap, but better then disc getting stuck to things during assembly.
Bingo! 3 min job.
So I put the trap out last night. We have a minor flea problem, and the trap caught 2 fleas. One in another room didn’t catch any. So unless your house is totally infested you’ll need to experiment with locations.
I would also use these alongside spray/powder/foggers… These will not solve the problem in isolation.
Also these are bright enough to light a room… Not ideal for bedroom use at night. If you need to treat a bedroom, I would put them in bedroom during day, then hallway outside bedroom at night with door ajar.
Highly recommended, I will add to review as things progress.
***Update on day 4 – now ten fleas caught across 2 traps.
These didn’t work for me as I couldn’t get them low enough on the floor were the puppy sleeps as he chews everything and there was a risk of electrocution!
That being said they would be great for someone who has a dog who doesn’t chew.
They are a good idea but not for us at this current time in puppys life.
So far these have been excellent. 3 weeks so far and the bulbs are still going with no breakdowns. Bulbs for similar style traps but different band only last 1 to 7 days
These things really do work. We have used for a number of years as our cat does occasionally catch fleas :(. Really good price for this set compared to the cost of some others and fits the unit well.
Fantastic little lamps at a good price, bought for a friend who had a flea infestation The dog was suffering the most. 2 lamps positioned in a one bedroom house (one downstairs the other in the bedroom) 5-7days later the house was almost cleared. Ideally treat the floor (skirting boards) & furnishing with a flea spray to kill any eggs laid. Very effective, the proof was on the sticky sheets the next morning having left the lamps on all night (when fleas are most active).
I purchased this pack of two traps having had a bad flea problem due to my cat this summer. The traps do what they claim and the first one had begun attracting fleas within minutes of setting it up. I used it in conjunction with a household flea spray and together they got rid of the problem until the weather warms up again next year.
Effectively a piece of plastic that holds a sticky pad and another piece of plastic that holds a bulb 5cm or so over the first. Feels expensive for what they are really.
They worked well, my two cats were being kept “clean” by their usual spot but kept getting into fights with next doors cat who seems to breed fleas. Whilst the fleas wouldn’t live on my cats for very long, the occasional stowaway would cause issues in the carpet of my house. A pack of two of these was very handy – one placed near their scratching post and one near their fave sleeping spot.
Both had unwanted visitors jumping into them within a few hours and after a few days my flea problem was gone.
– You will need spare bulbs. Standard E14 15W bulbs you can get anywhere. They don’t last particularly very long!
These are great I bought them for the flea traps as their refills are pretty expensive. You only have to snip a tiny curve off one of the bends (no need for 4 diff ones for some reason) and it will fit in great. Just as sticky as the dearer ones too
Effective & really fast acting. We had a massive infestation of fleas (came from decomposing vegetation/tree cutting branches in garden). Caught well over 50 insects in 3 days! Recommend highly & we are now free!!
Despite their flimsy appearance, these traps work a treat. They work exactly as described and the you can see the evidence stuck on the discs within minutes of turning them on!! Only down side is the bulbs blow easily
Did an excellent job, liked that you could see it was working by the number of little ‘corpses’ left on the sticky pads, which gradually became fewer day by day. Didn’t want to use sprays as had a 3 month old infant in the house. Have now given the cats flea treatments to avoid a recurrence but will keep the traps in store just in case.
Delivery was prompt and refills quickly delivered too.
I have two cats and unfortunately this year I forgot to administer flea treatments to both cats, something I will never do again! Anyway, we normally let the cats roam freely around the house so we noticed that my wife and I were catching more fleas than ever, so I ordered flea spray and treatment for the cats. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to work, so another spray was ordered, stronger strength, this one seemed to work a little, but the little buggers kept on appearing! So I was at my wits end wondering what the heck are we going to do, when I came across 2x ULTIMATE FLEA TRAPS by Medipaq advertised on Amazon, so thinking that I’d try this and hope that it would work in controlling and getting rid of the fleas.
When they arrived I opened the box, read the instructions and assembled them, placing one in the Living Room, the other in the bedroom, making sure that the cats couldn’t enter any more, then sat back and waited. Well by the morning when we got up and checked the traps, I couldn’t believe how many the sticky pads had as once a flea landed on the stick pad that was it well and truly caught, game over!! We were so impressed with these traps that I could have kicked myself for not seeing and purchasing them sooner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone as I can vouch for the product 100%.
Fed up with chemicals to kill these little pests, I thought I’d give these a try. I purchased 2, they work extremely well, I was surprised how many of the little swines ended up well and truly stuck. It also catches flies! Bonus !
Very good product. Catches fleas great, unfortunately also moths, spiders etc. I know others will be pleased with that..but I like moths and most spiders.
I found if turn off and on frequently bulb does not last long…lasts good long time if left on ALL TIME.
Excellent, catches many fleas. Best on at night time, you catch a lot more. Bulbs cheap at Home Bargains and Wilco’s. I have 2, one in bedroom, one in front room. If they got broken, would order again. Will use all year.
Such a clever but simple idea this has worked so well,I would recommend this to anyone who has a flea problem or just wants to make sure there’s no little pest around great value and simple to put together, and no chemicals .
Simple idea, works well. Catches a lot more fleas, when it’s dark. This is the first year I have had a flea problem. My cats have vet prescribed flea treatment. I’m throwing everything I can at this problem, salt in carpets for couple of days, cedar wood essential oil, diluted, sprayed on furniture, wash bedding more often. I’m so pleased with these, one in bedroom, one in front room. I’m going to keep these running, all through the year. I did buy the extra bulbs. You can get 2 of these for 89p in Home Bargains. Also,I believe,in Wilco’s. Only keeping these on at night. Well worth the money
Nothing to dislike. My friend had a problem with fleas on her cats but now, together with the spot on they have all gone. It is so easy. Just place the disc pad in and switch on the light – leave it to do its job. She still leaves it on and it keeps catching those nasty little midges that flit about and annoy. Can’t believe how many get on the pad – such a relief to know that it does such an efficient job.
We ordered two and TBF its impossible for this trap not to work. Its simple but effective in helping clearing up a batch of fleas. This summer has been so hot the cats have been a nightmare to ward off fleas.
The second trap failed due to a break in the wire, but Amazon replaced with no issues and no return costs.
I have to say this is not a solution, but a quick mop up of any left over fleas that have hatched and smoke foggers have not reached.
You know when its working when the first week has caught loads and the it keeps dropping until you trap small flies more than fleas.
Its worth its weight in gold if it catching fleas rather than biting you or your pets!
The Ultimate flea traps are excellent. We have only used one so far. Placed it in different rooms and managed to trap a few fleas that were not killed with spraying. A very safe method of ensuring no little blighters are breeding in the carpet.
Does exactly what it’s meant to do.
Cats been struggling this year with all this heat. Despite keeping up to date with flea drops and spraying bedding and carpet with flea spray. This has helped in reducing the number of active adults that keep attacking her. Used for a few weeks now and the number of fleas caught has diminished.
This be a good way of checking activity in the future. I will be buying more to leave in other rooms to check for activity. Catches them without the use of the bulb as well.
This was placed in an area where my cat was sleeping. You can see from photo that it caught a lot of fleas but by no means all of them. They are a good indication that you have fleas but you need to vacuum regularly to remove eggs and larvae and use other means of getting rid of them permanently. Plenty of help on google.
These traps are not very robust, but having said that THEY WORK!! It has been very satisfying watching the little horrors stick on the pads. After treating the soft furnishings and carpets, I am using the traps to keep track of the numbers still active. Am hoping the traps will entice all and the house will once again be clear.
Put this in the bedroom where my fur babies sleep. Checked it a couple of hours later and it had about 10 of the little critters on it. Will continue to use alongside flea spray .Very easy to put together my cats have knocked it over a few times but it still works well.
Really great at catching the little buggers, however, it will not solve the flea issue in the house as they do nothing to get the eggs (eggs about = more of the jumping nightmares). Good at helping get cull the adults so they don’t bite you!
Have an issue with strays in the area using my home as a hotel and free banquet. Chip catflaps dont seem to work on my cat as his chip has moved down his leg
I had an explosion of fleas in the house recently.. to the point when I went in my spare room they would jump on me :/
I set off flea bombs and then set flea traps.
I think probably about 30 fleas jumped on to this trap.
I’ve sprayed the carpet also and now when I go in there nothing jumps on me
Used in combination with a flea bomb and spray think these are excellent as they seem to capture the stragglers the other treatments miss.
The down side is I guess they are a little cruel, especially if any spiders walk across them. But so far mine have just captured fleas. I will look again in the morning to see if any more have jumped on there.

They do actually collect fleas as I wasn’t sure if they would do anything. I would say that it would be a good idea if you have a bad flea infestation. I’ve only collected a few fleas on mine so far but I don’t have a serious problem……yet, fingers crossed. I’ve been using these in conjunction with Diatomaceous Earth on my cat which is safe and non toxic to ANYONE.
We’ve used these in various rooms of our house to help remove the fleas our cats kindly deposited over the last month. The traps were fairly quick/easy to assemble and we found them effective both picked up 20/30 fleas over a couple of days. I’d recommend these to supplement other treatments such as Bravecto for your pets from the vet (don’t bother with Frontline). I think around the 20 mark is a fair price for these but they do at least come with plenty of spare discs.
I have a cat with fleas. Frontline drops did nothing. I put these down and got 11 in the first hour. After a week I must have over 40 and that’s with it on only a few hours at night.
No insecticide, no neurotoxins. Probably best used when young kids are not around as it stands on the floor.
Highly recommend!
All I can say is these traps are amazing. I have tried everything in my house, sprays, foggers etc and these are the only things where you can see the results. For the first couple of hours it got nothing and then as the weather cooled over night I woke up and there must have been 40 fleas on one of the pads couldn’t believe it, so effective and well worth the money, I will keep using the traps until all of the disgusting little things have gone, absolute life saver!
These traps really do work. I’m ashamed by the number of fleas they’ve caught in 24 hours. Like all good ideas they’re very simple – just a light and a sticky pad but this is enough to trick the fleas into heading for the light and falling onto the sticky pad. If you’ve got a problem with pet fleas do not hesitate – order them. The best thing I’ve bought all year.
These are so much better than the ones supplied by Aspectek, they are more sticky so catch more insects, fleas etc. After about 2 weeks they were covered in insects and now, fingers crossed, we are flea free. Recommended.
i have 7 cats and 3 dogs ,i do flea them regularly but the dogs get fleas now and again, the cats are house cats so any fleas come from the dogs.I bought this as the reviews were good and i set them up straight away but 1 of the trap bulbs only lasted 2 hrs,Now it seems i have to buy bulbs as no place to complane, but saying that it does work in the 2 hrs it caught 2 fleas .
To start with I was sceptical buying these and after setting them up I caught just a mosquito. A week went by and I thought it had been a waste of money… then out of nowhere there were loads being caught. And others that you see around it trying to decide when to jump in. We use flea collars (the 50 one) on outdoor cats and advocate on indoor cats and I suspected we still had some but I guess eggs that been laid and when they hatched they all flocked there. I’ve now caught loads and suddenly 2 weeks on very few are being caught now so fingers crossed they are nearly all gone!
My cat went out and came back with fleas and eventually fleas invaded my home!!! Got this trap eventually help trapped those blood sucking creature at least 60%. To be honest it does the job and of course i use other product on top of that as i am paranoid lol.
The unit itself works extremely well- caught lots of fleas! However, the bulbs (both the ones provided with the unit and subsequent ones) blow very easily- I don’t think I’ve had one last more than three days!
However, I’m willing to replace them often as the unit itself is so effective.
Horrible thing to need but it works amazingly well, I was quite suprised, the best thing about these is that there are no horrid chemicals to make you pets (or yourself) ill with. the pads are good value and last a bit over a week each, maybe more. so the 12 pads in two traps will give you 6-9 weeks depending how bad the infestation is. this kill/captures them by making them think they are going to feed, which is before they lay eggs so their numbers start to drop off pretty quickly. and within weeks they are all gone.
Just be careful not to stand on it with socks on its a real pain to get off lol
Amazing product. We used this in our conservatory which had been house to our 2 cats for several years. Despite hoovering and fleaing the cats, we always had a problem but didn’t quite realise how bad until we lost them both 2 weeks ago to unrelated illnesses. We ordered 2 of these, one for the conservatory and one on the landing upstairs. The conservatory trap caught a whooping 329 fleas. We still have the traps going but thankfully they are now clear. I really, really, really recommend this product.
Love them and great too see how many fleas it catches.. my cat even sits with her back end next too the catcher unit, clearer cat. I’m shocked she got fleas as an indoor cat and regularly treated and has no contact with other animals.. I’ve also used sprays in my home too, and washed everything, which helps also, but still catching fleas
My dog kept getting fleas from elderly cats, could not use spot on or tablets for cats as they had fits/rashes. This gadget at least is stopping infestation. I use alternately for a few hours in cat room, lounge and all areas that pets go in. The fleas are now under control and getting less every day. I do comb/brush pets every day and also hoover every day , emptying each time, I would never go back to oils,, even natural, or chemicals again. I had spent s on them and was useless and made the pets poorly
For anyone wondeting if these things WORK…see photos. Have 6 cats who are outside a lot. Placex these in bedroom by radiator (turned off) and against front of sofa in living room. Worked a teat. Have also now fumigated and swapped pads. Lets see….
Went for the best ones I could find. I have two dogs and soon will have two cats. Never had fleas before but got bites on ankles then found them in the dogs beds so war was declared. Dogs treated, every carpet vacuumed and flea talc used, all bedding human and dogs washed on 90 degrees every floor bleached numerous times no way getting any more bites. All edges and crevices sprayed kapow job done, bought these to check to ensure war was won and full anialation was completed…put together easy and quickly, even bought extra bulbs but tbh dont touch the bulb with fingers ie use a cloth to put them in and let them cool before moving them and I’ve had no issues with bulbs blowing. Anyway back to the war I put them in bedrooms on first night ….nothing yay. Next downstairs put the dogs in kitchen overnight in cages (outside day kennel bombed and sprayed didn’t want to bomb house ) first night 7 little f****** ! And the dogs had a bonus of a night light. Put the other in lounge 3 more victims ….tiny ones but …with big teeth still. These are perfect for checking and mopping up survivors . I will probably use once a week to check in future. However if they are in the house and your getting bitten suggest you need to treat whole house and use these as another weapon. Just buying a spray or a flea bomb is not enough…take no survivors use the traps game o
I guess I don’t need to say this flea business is the pits and not easy to deal with – first time we have had a problem this summer . This is an excellent product it does what it says – it attracts the fleas at night – we switch in on and leave on in the dark – in the morning we can see how many fleas it has trapped and it gives an indication of whether other methods are also working i.e. spraying carpets, hovering everything, bathing dogs, using flea treatment on dogs – we get less every night and wait for the day when it is empty !!!! It is a terrific product highly recommend
You need to set the traps up in a completely dark room which has been a challenge in the daytime as the room is still too light and we don’t want to leave the trap on at night as it is too bright (we have fleas in our bedroom where the cat spends most of her time). Anyway, we have resorted to leaving the curtains closed all day, locking the cat out and the trap on and it has caught several fleas. I was thinking we had an infestation but it wouldn’t appear so. I would recommend purchasing as you can see the results and you’re not using any nasty chemicals which is great if you have children in the house. Now to find something that works on the cat!
Brilliant. I have used flea spray in the house and Frontline on the dog. One room not sprayed as well as our main one and these traps have helped. Moving them around the house just to make sure. Very pleased at how well it worked
Had these about 3 weeks now and one of the bulbs had gone but in the 3 weeks on constantly caught 43 fleas from the pair, So if I’ve got to buy a bulb, then there is no problem with that. They are the same bulbs that are in your fridge that’s 43 that are not biting you and not laying more eggs. Trust me if a jock says there worth it,then there worth it.
Excellent for catching cat fleas. However, these are absolutely useless for catching pubic lice despite what my mate Dave down the pub says. If you are also one of Dave’s mates I suggest you look elsewhere.
Haven’t caught fleas but then hopefully thats good ! My friend reckons hers caught loads and to be honest the traps seem fine. Suppose my indoor cats just haven’t got fleas any more. ! Will keep the traps for future use though just in case.
I would like to add they are very simple to put together but beware, they are VERY sticky so keep your fingers off the sticky card. Several replacement cards are provided. Great item.
Working well catching fleas albeit slow but steady. Found that placing on floor near to soft furnishings seemed to catch more. Also caught more directly after treating the cats for fleas so will continue with regular treatment. The bonus is that gnats and midges also get trapped.
Sure do the job they are intended to do. Our cat also snoozes beside them at night and early morning before
our heating comes on or he decides to jump into bed. We treat him for fleas of course, but when lying next to
these lamps that hold the discs any fleas present jump straight onto the sticky pads and stay there. The pads
also collect any other creepy crawlies during the night. Last Autumn they did a wonderful job of trapping wasps
which had decided to try and make their home in our lobby. We are early risers and when the lights where put
on it woke up the sleepy wasps which made straight for the light (had one by the inner door where our cat
twos and fros ) so caught lots of the wasps and kept our cat and my wife safe.
I’ve used flea traps for years. Two advantages – if there are fleas in there you can spot on flea treat the animal. If there aren’t – I don’t. Hate using chemicals on the cats if I don’t need to. Be warned you will end up with some unpleasant sights. Great for mozzies in the summer but wish it didn’t attract spiders – even though I hate the critters – and moths.
Had a bit of s flea problem in the Summer, these indicate whether we’re keroinb on top of it. Any animal can bring in Fleas .. they’re in the grass outside waiting for a ride … in the house this attracts them often off the pet .. we’ve found them excellent purchases … attract mozzies too so good for kids bedroom out of sight but working away
These are amazing. We had a bad outbreak a few weeks back and as our 3 cats go everywhere in the house I had to use several flea bombs and sprays but I have left these down afterwards and they caught loads. Also my son liked the fact he could use it as a night light at the same time. Highly recommend. Would advise ordering spare bulbs though as one of ours went out fast.
This product is amazing.. to the point where I think anyone not giving it five stars, does not have fleas in the house or did not read the instructions properly (I forgot to peel back the sticky paper on one of the lamps to begin with). We thought we had got rid of the flea problem by using a spray recommended by the pet shop. They gave good advice, and we bought the most expensive and reputable product that seemed to work. We occasionally have seen the odd flea after fumigating the house three times. To be on the safe side, to make sure the job was complete, we chose these lamps based on the great reviews. Last night, 14 of the pesky things were in our bedroom, and 3 in my daughter’s bedroom. We actually thought they had gone! I have today ordered two more lamps so we can tackle the whole house at once rather than rotating. The cats are definitely flea-free, but the house is taking a little longer! I think its a bad season for fleas! Gross. Thank you very much makers of this product for coming up with something so effective. We do think though that the fleas are attracted to the light not the warmth. I highly recommend this great product.
Oder ed these not sure what to expect. One worked fine but the other had a problem with the light. Called the number on the box & they replaced immediately. No hassle. Very pleased. They seemed to be doing the job by trapping fleas & no sign of any more at the moment. Fingers crossed our flea problem is over.
Read a variety of reviews on this product before buying. My experience was excellent. Arrived on time was simple to assemble with good quality parts that all fitted. Plugged it in and it has worked with the same bulb for over a month. This was the first time I had a flea problem with my pets. Not a nice experience but thankfully now sorted. Like most people I used a combination of spray, vacuuming and these traps. As well as catching the nasty little critters they are first class for monitoring the level of infestation and eventual non existence.
It was delivered less than 24hours ago and I am amazed at its efficiency!
We’ve got a 3 bed house and we’ve been moving this done around. We’ve caught over 40 fleas already !
Please please please buy it. Yes it is cheaper than the other traps but don’t let the cheaper option put you off. They are great!
In the past I would purchase flea bombs and a spray bottle for around 45 which only lasted a month or two as my two cats practically live outside.
Like the other reviews say purchasing decent flea drops and using these little machines, you will be covered.
First of all can I just say that, before I bought these traps, I did a huge amount of research on them including reading every review I could lay hands on. There are many one star reviews but the majority of them seem to focus on the quality rather than the performance. On the whole the good outweighed the bad so, I decided to buy them and draw my own conclusions.
The main criticism seems to be the quality of the bulbs; personally I have had no problem at all with them and they are working night after night. They do have to be screwed in well though, so maybe that has been the problem. If they should need replacing they are readily available on Amazon or from any supermarket that stocks bulbs. In fact, they are the same bulbs as in my ovens and cooker head.
The units themselves are as I would expect, rigid and not at all flimsy, as some reviewers suggest.
Performance: well, they do perform exactly as they are meant to. They do catch fleas and also other insects that may be around such as mosquitoes. Granted, they haven’t caught a lot of fleas but they have caught some every time I put them down. This maybe because I don’t have an infestation. My kittens arrived with little visitors on them which have been treated in the usual way by using a liquid flea killer and flea collars. I bought the lamps as a backup and a means of identifying where in the house there might be a problem.
So far, they have performed just as claimed and I can only judge on this performance and I can only say that they have worked for me. That said, the old trick of the lighted candle (tea light) in a shallow bowl or plate of water mixed with washing up liquid also works.
OMG, only been on a couple of hours and already there are fleas trapped on the sticky paper, and the room had been hoovered and sprayed with household flea treatment! Wish I had bought these years ago, will be recommending these to everyone.
Tried various things to clear the house, foggers are not at all effective however these traps work and you can keep them for future use. Highly recommend.
Arrived well packaged and on time. Easy to assemble with clear instructions. I have used this now for a week and find that it does catch the fleas. I leave it on in a dark room which is better as it attracts the flea to the light. Not a bad price and you get two.
Read all the positive feedback about this item before I bought it. very happy with the product and would definitely recommend it,
As with all flea treatments its good to use a variety of other things.
It has already caught two fleas, though you do need to try different areas to see where it works bes
I bought a pair of these traps as a “Just in Case” measure for the holiday cottage, as I do allow dogs – but there’s always a slight concern that a visitor’s dog might bring in, or leave behind, an unwanted guest.
Flea eggs can survive for months in carpets and corners before a source of warmth or vibration stimulates them into hatching, and adult fleas that have fed on tapeworm eggs (believe me, it’s true) can be a source of tapeworm infestation for any dog (or human) that accidentally ingests one.
So in between bookings and at the end of the season, I set these up.
They’re easy to set up, three plastic pillars attach the base to the umbrella cover, through which a 15w Edison screw bulb (similar to cooker hood bulbs) is fitted. The cable length from the bulb to the socket is a decent length, though I did use an extension cable to extend the unit further into the room.
The plastic is a sturdy quality, and the unit is cheap to run. I haven’t had any problems with the bulbs – though I did get some spares – and I haven’t had any difficulty with the sticky circles curling – a slight distortion on one, but hardly noticeable.
Any hatching flea eggs, larvae or adult fleas will migrate to the units – I’ve got one in the lounge, and another one in the main bedroom – and they’ll get caught on the sticky disc which lines the base.
So far, all that’s been trapped have been a few tiny spiderlings, and an unlucky fly – no fleas – but for me, that’s a good thing.
These traps are a good advance warning that there may be a problem. I had them on for a fortnight, then off for a week or so. Now they’re on for another couple of weeks – if there’s still no evidence of pests, I’ll pack them away.
If you’re using these, and there’s an indication your house has fleas, diatomaceous earth is the next line of defence before reaching for sprays and poisons.
Having read the range of reviews when I bought these traps I thought they were worth a try, as the foggers and sprays I had previously used just had eradicated the fleas. As some reviews had suggested they were difficult to assemble I had decided to take my time and be patient, but as it turned outit was very easy to slot everything together, the directions and diagrams straightforward and I had both set up in five minutes. I took advice from one of the other posters and used double sided sellotape to hold the sticky pads in place, which worked well. I placed them in the areas where I knew I got bitten. I had them going for about three or four days moved to various situations and in all caught about 6 fleas, but as I have remained bite free for the three days since turning them off, I have to conclude they caught all the fleas that were attcking me. They also caught some midges and a crane fly that came in the evening! All in all I am very happy with the result and will turn them on again the first sign that the cat has brought in any undesirable visitors.

Incredible. I read the reviews before purchase but didn’t really have any faith in this notion. It really does work. Obviously to irradicate the flea problem it needs to be used in conjunction with a product in constant contact with the pet too. We have dogs and cats and they wear flea collars but the “ones that get away” (and we don’t have carpets for them to hide in) is still substantial in number so I am relieved to know these escapees are being “catered for” too. Would thoroughly recommend.
We have four cats and three dogs and live in the countryside! Occasionly…we get a flea problem. I don’t like chemical treatments if I can avoid them so these are great. They attract and fleas due to the warmth of the light. Only down side is they also attract all manner of flying insects! Whilst switched on they produce a lovely low light.
Works well – when it works! Several reviews mention an intermittent connection, and one of mine also had this problem.
The body may be Canadian made, but the electrical bit is all Chinese!!!
had come loose and was only sometimes making contact. The holder is not really designed to be unscrewed, as it has a ratchet arrangement to try and prevent unscrewing. But it can be done with a bit of fiddling (a bit of the brass inside needs to be pushed down with a screw-driver (hard to explain!) Once the cover does unscrew, simply tighten the wire connections. In my case a short occurred which blew the 3 amp fuse in the plug, so I also had to replace that. Now working fine, and catching many fleas!
We can only hope that Chinese manufacturers one day discover quality-control!
Having tried sprays and treating the cat with vet-supplied drops, the little blighters were still attacking me viciously on a very regular basis. Oddly they never bite my husband, I must have the blood that they like. I would say that these traps are the most effective way of getting rid of fleas. We put them on at night when we go to bed and each morning there have been fleas in one or other. Sometimes just one, sometimes two or more, but I feel confident that in time we will get rid of all of the fleas in the house. The answer after that happy day will be to remember to treat the cat once a month without fail. In addition I will use the lights every so often just in case any have sneaked in again (although I’d know about it from the bites on my ankles and legs!!). This is a great product and the best if you have a flea infestation.
Our cats have seemed to acquire some little friends, we have kept up the spot on medication however this seems to have little or no effect now. We have moved onto tablets and ridding our home of these little friends. I had heard about them and was somewhat doubtful however thought I would give it a go.
These are easy to set up and use, after the first night, I had a fright as I saw at least 10 little critters stuck on the pad, after this every night there was a few more. After 5 nights of use, we do not seem to be having any more little critters joining their friends.
The cats no longer scratch and appear to have lost their little friends and after using Indorex Spray and the flea traps, we seem to have resolved the issue both in the house and on out cats
The discs are just as sticky as the originals that came with the trap. The fleas are well and truly glued in! The disc is completely round and doesn’t have the cutouts where the trap legs hold the top and bottom apart, so it doesn’t sit completely flush without making little slits in it first. (Do this before sticking it in place). I put some double-sided tape on the bottom to hold the disc in place, as it can curl up at the edges. Once in position, it des the job perfectly.
I was a bit dubious because I felt that the traps were expensive where my budget is concerned but not any longer. They far far exceeded my expectations. After less than an hour in situ these traps were working, catching and killing fleas big time alongside a good brand of flea spray and treatment for the cat. I will not be without these traps while we have a cat (who is only 2) and they also serve as a night light! I locate the traps around the house (a 3 bed semi) and hoover several times a week. I dry some washing indoors and all this combined brings the little beggars out for the traps to do the final act and so nicely. We caught over 200 fleas in the first two weeks and I am bite free for the first time in a few months. I have no sympathy for the fleas as they carry and transfer disease. I can say with total confidence that this is the one best thing you will ever buy where fleas are concerned.
I am glad that I purchased this kit. We had been struggling for a few months with being periodically being bitten and although we steam clean the carpets and vacuum regularly we were not getting them all. Using the traps has helped
us to identify which rooms had the problem and although to date we have only caught two. The good thing is we are confident we have caught the remaining few and until anymore eggs
should hatch the traps will be waiting! So over the next few weeks will put them on and see if they catch anything. The cats have being treated so we dont really expect to find any more.. its a reassuring piece of kit to have on standby!
I purchased these traps as a bit of a last resort after various sprays failed to clear up the problem. If I’m honest I really didn’t expect them to work.
The delivery arrived very quickly and was packaged adequately. First impressions of the device met with expectations – a simple lightweight plastic build complete with cooker hood style bulb and a disc of sticky paper.
I plugged it in and unfortunately the vision of it being like a vortex hoovering up all the fleas in the room in an instant was not to be but I stuck with it and left it running. After day one there was nothing and I nearly binned them. Day two and one trap had caught its first flea. By the end of the week the traps were littered with fleas and the traps had done a sterling job!
So, in summary, yes they do indeed work – just make sure you give them time (they need to be switched on 24×7 for several days).
One star docked as a. I think they are a tad overpriced for what they are and b. as others have said the pads do have a nasty habit of curling up quite quickly.
Having just experienced my first infestation of cat fleas I know I never want to go there again!
We had spent so much money on flea bombs and sprays we were at out wits end as we just couldn’t seem to get rid of them. We bought these traps in desperation not really thinking they would work but they do!
Some people have complained about the traps being of poor quality, it’s true they are not the strongest made items ever but they don’t really need to be, your not kicking them around you just place once assembled, switch on and let it do its job.
The best advice I can give to anyone experiencing fleas in the home from my own experience is buy these traps and place them where you think the pests are, switch on and leave in each area for at least a couple of days you can then move them around if your not catching any. You definitely want to leave them on overnight because this is when they work best I assume because the overall temperature drops making the warm glow of the traps more appealing so turn off any heating once you go to bed so your house cools down. As well as using the traps make sure you hoover everyday pay special attention to and edges and cracks and throw away the bag each time, if you are happy to use chemicals a spray in addition to the traps just ups your chances of getting them and most importantly make sure your animal is treated and stays treated with a good quality flea killer or you will be fighting a loosing battle – Good Luck!!
Having moved into a house that had (had) fleas and spent a fortune on the usual sprays etc, I still noticed the occasional flea. After reading the reviews about these traps I admit to being somewhat sceptical, but as I had tried everything else, I gave it a try.
And I am so glad I did. The first 24 hours come up with nothing and I thought, here we go, another failure – BUT the following morning there were several fleas on both traps. So they were moved around the house and more fleas found their way onto the trap.
Since buying these traps many fleas have been removed – without chemicals!!!
Two points to remember, the first being, when the trap has been on for a while, if you wish to move it then unplug it (or switch it off) and wait for the bulb to cool. Like most lightbulbs when hot, if knocked the filament tends to break. When the filament is cold it can be moved and knocked without damage. The second point is, be patient. If you leave the trap on in a place where you know there are fleas, then this will work – usually within a day of two. However, remember the simple fact that, if you use these traps and you follow the instructions and after several days there are no fleas, perhaps you just don’t have any fleas in that area. Move the traps around and if there are fleas, they will be attracted to the light – incidentally, the light emits a heat and colour that fleas think is a dog or cat (or human).
Update to my previous rating.these traps are very effective and I thoroughly recommend them.as a cat and dog owner I found them brilliant in the warmer weather after one of the cats went walkabout and came home with fleas ,tried the usual sprays etc, these lamps solved the problem almost overnight.I didn’t give 5 stars originally due to a mix up over replacement bulbs.today I received a phone call from a very nice gentleman from medipaq and the bulb problem has been resolved.
Very visibly useful – it is great to be able to count up the fleas it’s caught! It does have one slight flaw, though. It works by having a sticky-backed disc placed in the base, which the fleas leap onto and get caught… but we found these discs tend to bow up under the heat of the lamp, which meant a small population of fleas was lucky enough to find it’s way underneath the sticky disc, and escape. Could do with a square of velcro or something to hold the disc flat.

Love them and the work well with the flea trap units , my cat even sits with her back end near the the flea catcher , clever girl

Yes these really do work.
These really do work.
