Lightweigh
I was looking for a lighter hover mower. Having used this a few times I’m very pleased with it. I didn’t find it that easy to assemble but I did manage it on my own. There isn’t a grass collector and I would have liked a longer cable but it cuts well. Overall I’m pleased and would recommend it.
Redesign Handle.
Overall cuts the grass great but let down by the handle. Tedious to assemble, cannot fold compactly without having to unscrew. Had to use pliers to secure the pins ( handle to mower). Even then vibrates extensively while mowing. Have had Flymo mowers previously but none had these problems.
It does the job!
Had one of these before, so went with what I know! good choice as it turns out, came the next day almost! works well and had gone down in price from the last time I bought one!!!!!
Fabulous lawn mowe
I love my new flymo it cuts the grass really well and love the way the cord has holders to wrap around . Can’t fold the handle down yet but know it can be folded .
It's ok
This lawnmower cuts decent enough. Downside is awkward handle folding and also the hold in lever which keeps the lawnmower going nips your hand often if you don’t be careful. I managed to purchase this item on offer but would not pay the original selling price as there’s better out there.
Happy with my purchase so fa
My son assembled the first mower and it didn’t look too difficult. I did find it hard to collapse the mower for storage as, unlike my previous Flymo where the handles just needed to be pushed in, with this they have to be loosened too. That also meant something flew off when I put it away. I lost one of the black holders for the leads on first use so they can’t be that tightly fitted. It was extremely hard to remove the nut for when ready to add spacers – needed 4 hands in the end but I am very happy with the mower overall, cuts nicely and my garden is uneven in places.
Bought to replace same model of flymo. It feels lighter than my previous lawnmower but is not as sturdy. Does the job. Haven’t tried to change the height of the cut ye
Light lawn scooter.
My 4th Flymo mower in 25 years, I thought this would be ideal for my medium sized and quite flat lawns. It does the job but not as well as the previous models. It seems to be more of a push mower than a hover, the front rollers quickly jamming with loose grass. Cuts OK, the grass box has a good capacity and it cleans easily. Flymo quality but at this price you do get what you pay for. I would only recommended for small lawns.
Flymo EasiGlide 300
Mower was easy enough to assemble, no extra tools etc required. Only gripe would be folding the handle in to its storage mode is very difficult as you need to physically “squeeze” the two sides to get the handle to fold over. As the handle is also long it is an awkward little process and I’ve not yet got the knack!!
Mower cuts fine and you get a good amount of electric cord.
Not used yet as the lawn is under water but had many Flymos previously and all have been fine. HOWEVER Flymo seriously need to address the manner in which they attach the blade as it’s impossible to move the nut to add the spacers. Husband is a strong chap and couldn’t budge it, nearly stabbing himself with the spanner in the process. Needlessly difficult and quite dangerous. Fortunately son has a power line in his garage premises otherwise we’d have had to return it.
Cuts the grass well
I like that it is lightweight and easier to use than my previous Flymo.
It does a great job of cutting the grass, and the collection box collects most of the cuttings.
Putting it together wasn’t straightforward, however. The folding handle mechanism is awful, and the lid doesn’t fit properly over the collection box. The box itself also doesn’t seem to fit properly.
I have a very small lawn and wanted something small, light and simple to take care of it.
It does the job, just.
It’s called a hover mower, but it does nothing of the sort and requires far more force than I remember when using old Flymo models back in the 90s.
It’s plastic in every sense of the word and doesn’t really feel like it’ll last. The lid for the grass collection bin doesn’t secure, so flops around when moving or storing. The bin itself doesn’t clip in, and so is equally floppy.
On the positive-ish side, it does collect grass well but the extra weight of that grass adds to the lack of hovery-ness and makes things more difficult.
Not great, not (absolutely) terrible. 3.5, rounded up to 4 because it’s Friday.
Love this mower gives a nice clean cut.. cuts nice and short on the lowest setting easy to use and store only down side is the grass collection box isn’t the best tends to blow some grass out for some reason but for the cut it gives I’m more than happy to sweep a little bit of missed grass perfect for me and my lawn I Love i
A lot quiter than my old one, it sounded like a jackhammer.
This is not lightweight, i have a hard time getting it to fold up, not sure how long the plastic bolts will last so i best look for some nut and bolts to replace them. It is easy to use, glides over the lawn. Like most lawnmowers it doesn’t pick up all the grass. I am very happy with this. I hope the information helps others that are thinking of buying this. It’s also easy to set up and comes with instructions. It is not loud when turned on. It has a two way of storing the handle it can be folded flat or hang on the wall.
I bought this as a replacement for our previous mower of the same type. I had the previous one given to me and I had it may years. The new mower is the same apart from having somewhere to store the cord more easily.
I was going to purchase a cordless mower but This one is more powerful and I don’t have to think about having to charge up the batteries when i want to mow. I don’t have to worry about the grass being too long as I know this mower will cope not if it is damp as this mower will cope. My lawn is about 50M 2 and this size mower is just right i can cut it in 15 mins . I might have to empty the box x2 at the most . it is also cheaper.
Had a flymo with plastic blades before this always catching stones and breaking. It was a pain changing them plus it made you jump when it caught one quite loud.
I had it for twenty years till it said goodnight and went to rest in the flymo graveyard.
This has a metal blade on it and you can set the depth to cut the grass on it, which makes a big difference. That said does it make the grass grow quicker , im not sure haha.
Ive used it once and it was fine cutting the grass, you can hear it catch stones etc but it just brushes them away.
All in all not bad, bit fiddly putting together but who likes putting things together via instructions in twenty different dialectics with the wind blowing in your garden.
8/10.
This model has changed little in about 10 years because it just works so well. We replaced our mower like for like with the latest model when it finally broke because we knew it meets our needs well. They’ve added a cable tidy system on the side which is a nice touch. It’s a little more fiddly to put the grass cutting collector back after emptying maybe because it appears they’ve reduced the plastic content. I’d guess for cost savings and reduction in materials used? At the price point I’m happy. If this one lasts ten years I cant complai
Perfect for a small lawn, powerful enough for a good finish.
My only criticism is that the handle folding isn’t as easy as earlier models, perhaps because the mounting seems to have moved further back which seems to have changed the balance.
Cable winders a nice additio
This Flymo is so easy to use and lightweight. It collects the grass that’s collect perfectly but fills up quickly. Therefore, if you have a very large garden, I would go for a larger grass box. The blade underneath is very strong and cut through thicker scrubs with easy. You can get fairly close up to a wall but would still need a strimmer for a nice, neat finish. First time I have owned a lawnmower with a grass box on the back and it made such a difference to the finish instead of spitting it back out all over the garden. I would recommend this machine to anyone. The grass box is so easy to attach and detach, which was one of the things I was pondering over when looking to purchase a new lawnmower and I wasn’t disappointed. Flymo are a trusted company and at this price, you really can’t go wrong. The box had seen better days when it arrived, but everything was as it should be when I opened it and very well protected.
This is a great mower but there are a few things that could be better. I thought this was the same model as my last mower but there are a three things that are different. A) the lead does not detach from the machine and doesn’t reach as far. B) folding the handle to store it is a bit if a faff and would be difficult to do for someone who isn’t very strong with their hands. C) there is more vibration that comes through into the handles and it seems much nosier than my last Flimo. Aside from this it cuts well and is light enough for my requirements!
Excellent lawnmowe
Ive had these lawn mowers often, they are great. Easy to use and does an excellent job on my lumpy uneven lawn.
Disappointed that when I placed the order that it was 89.99 however I have been charged 104 which is quite annoying ! Free P&P so I feel I’ve been over charged
I bought it supposedly damaged but I can’t find any damage in fact it’s perfect, even the box it came in wasn’t too bad, I’m pleasantly pleased
Very good for a small garden.
The cable is a nuisance when storing . I fitted a male and female flying socket and plug.
Not the best flume I have had
This model does not seem to float as well as some other models and is clumsy to carry
Bought this for my ‘postage-stamp’ sized lawn and the mower is very capable of producing a good manicured garden lawn. It’s very easy to assemble and the instructions supplied are easy to follow. The mower comes with spacers to adjust the height of the blade for different grass lengths, just remember to follow the correct sequence when reassembling.
The downside, in my opinion, is the machine plastics are poorly made and do not fit very well together. The lid to the grass collecting box has a fairly large gap around it which causes the cuttings to fly everywhere except in the box. The box for the cuttings also doesn’t quite fit snuggly onto the top of the motor, which in turn let’s cuttings enter the motor! Therefore after each cut it means having to vacuum the grass cutting out of the machine as well around the paths etc.
This is really only a minor problem that may just be a one off and this is only my opinion. It’s still a better machine for the price opposed to others I’ve tried and worth the extra 10 minutes clean up after the job!

Flymo
Fairly easy to put together,
Overall feeling is ,it feels a little flimsy.
But you get what you pay for.
Good value. It does what it says on the tin. Good for small to medium lawns.
Good for small to small/medium lawns but would go for a petrol for large size lawns. Definitely recommend this one for more compact gardens.
Easy to use
As my wife only has partial use of one arm this machine is a lot easier to use than other mowers we have.
Good lawnmowe
I like this lawn mover perfect for over grown garden
It is awkward having to change heights as you have to add washers
Love i
I’ve been using a mower with wheels and making more holes in the lawn than a golfer on a bad day. Had flymo before and Love this One, Its so easy to use and glides over the Lawn like a Dream.
(Many) years ago I worked for Black &Decker when they made hover mowers. Ours was very simple but very robust, made from ABS plastic. My own example gave many years of service. This appears to be mostly polypropylene, which is cheap, light weight, more robust than it looks but its physical appearance will soon deteriorate – glossy finishes are inappropriate for a lawn mower. To hover it requires a powerful motor (which it has) and very light weight (which it is). Forget grass collection, these things mulsh the grass and the principle of operation makes collection inevitably ‘hit and miss’. If it had a sensible size grass box and did collect all the cuttings it would become too heavy to hover!
Most complaints concern the change to a metal lower handle. The old moulded – on plastic lower handle could be used to carry the mower, but this one is much longer and so only you people over seven feet tall can now do that. Lucky you. The plastic snap- on bolts are really daft. Mine seem okay at. present but its obvious that the handle has a ‘wrenching’ effect and many of these will snap out as easily as they snap in (see photo). Like another reviewer I will replace mine with proper metal ones, but the plastic bracket supporting them also looks inadequate . The hooks for holding a stowed cable are much too close together and, anyway, if you stow the mower with the handle folded they cannot be used at all. However, just dump the cable in the grass box (photo). Why were the changes made ? Possibly to save money on new tooling for the major plastic moulding.
Its not all bad! I am getting very old and have to carry the mower to reach the front garden. Though now rather awkward to lift this is very light and very easy to manoeuvre on the grass in confined spaces. There is a good metal blade and it cuts well – though I need to use all three blade spacers. With no spacer there is no cut! The grass box simply slides in and out. The mower was very cheap to buy – I paid less than 90 which, frankly, is ridiculous value for money. I could have paid even less by buying the model without grassbox. Hovers are for mulching the grass, not collecting it. Despite all the criticism this will doubtless do the job and compared with my six year old (and still serviceable) ‘old’ wheeled mower it is a pleasure to use. Ideally I’d give this mower 3 1/2 stars, but I’m feeling generous today.
