Works well, somewhat expensive, but the best you can get so dig into your pockets forego that pint and a half of beer and buy the decent tape, get your gaff looking good.

Someone told me to buy this for cutting in and the reviews were not that good. I didn’t over press it down and after i painted i pulled it off within 20 mins and this didn’t pull of any of my other ceiling paint. Key is don’t press and take it off quick would recommend buying gives perfect straight lines

Good quality, as described and reasonably priced.
It’s the best anti paint bleed tape there is.
Best sharp results are achieved by removing the tape as soon as possible upon painting.
Don’t let the paint dry if you can avoid it.

Really not much to say about this one. It’s a bit pricey but does it’s job without issue and is easy to apply and remove. Can’t complain about it unless I find a cheaper one that does the same job. I haven’t, so I’m pleased with this.

Generally easy to apply, nice straight lines, and easy to remove.

I was always skeptical of the need for the chunky plastic box until I used tape from another brand (perhaps homebase or b&q own brand) which didn’t have this protection. These other tape rolls quickly became scuffed and dented at home and sometimes lost its ability to give sharp edges. Frogtapes box, on the other hand, seems to help to keep the tape straight and true.

    Two problems occasionally come up:
    1. A slight bleeding under the tape. Quite possibly where it hasn’t been pressed down firmly enough, so I’ll let this one slide.
    2. When removing, will sometimes peel off some of the underneath layer of paint. This happens even when being careful to pull the tape back on itself i.e. at a 180 angle, as recommended in the instructions. This is quite annoying and is the reason it’s lost a star!

Last time I painted I used generic tape which ripped the old paint off the wall when removed & there was some bleeding through. This stuff is worth the extra money, no bleeding from the wet paint, removed easily & cleanly even after being stuck for a few days. Highly recommended

Easy to tear by hand and peel and as sticky as hell when applied. Removal leaves no marks or residue. This is a brilliant product which is, for decorators and tradesmen, the same kind of indispensable game-changer product as 3M Post-its are for office workers.

Brilliant stuff! Use the green Frog Tape for taping up deep box canvases and boards when oil painting. Keeps the edges pristine (I don’t paint the sides of my canvases). Gives a neat, straight edge and saves the job of having to clean the edges with white spirit. Also saves having to cover any marks later, with Gesso. Easy to apply, make sure it’s pressed firmly onto the canvas. Easy to remove without any damage, much better than ordinary masking tape. The yellow Frog Tape can be used with watercolour, less adhesive, so comes off the paper better. Just the job!

    Brilliant Stuff....!

I needed something to protect the paint I had on the walls from the new gloss I was putting around the doors.
Once in place I could easily get on with my painting knowing that no paint would bleed under the tape.

This is pricier than the generic rolls of yellowish stuff in DIY stores, but this is easily a better product even if it costs a lot more.
Part of the issue with doing painting yourself is you don’t always apply the same time + cost you would if you were charging for your time, but sometimes that’s a helpful thing to do, especially with larger jobs. If you’re painting multiple rooms in your house, for example, or the woodwork in multiple rooms, and you start thinking about how long each wall takes, you’ll quickly see some jobs scale up and become massive. Anything that can trim time off, or reduce you having to go round ‘one last time’ can be worth its weight in gold. Like using decent paint with good coverage, this tape is one of those things.
Sticks well, no paint bleed, easy to handle and cut to fit around wonky edges/woodwork, it just feels reassuring going on. It doesn’t start peeling off, comes off pretty easily. The only downside I’d be wary of is putting it on recently painted surfaces as it can peel off. Of if you’ve used it around gloss work, give the gloss a few days to cure before removing. I’ve been painting homes for 25 years or so and this stuff was a revelation when I first got hold of it. (You can slo use the plastic tub it comes in for storage or brush cleaning afterwards).

Sticks well and creates perfect straight lines. Make sure its stuck down well as paint can bleed through. Always has good adhesion but be careful on some walls as it can take the plaster off.

Easy to remove. Remove while paint is still wet.

Much better than using masking tape!

Previously I always thought “I’m not paying that much for masking tape” and would buy the cheaper stuff. This always ended up with disappointment when it either tore off paint or paper when being removed. The frog tape did neither, honestly the lines are so straight and none of the lining paper was removed either. Would highly recommend.

If I could give 6 stars I would

Unlike normal nasty beige tape, this stuff actually keeps paint out at the edge, doesn’t rip previous layers off and provides a good straight edge. It also doesn’t turn to mummified chewing gum detritus after 6 months!

Bought this to cover my skirting boards, doors etc for painting as some masking tape seems to be a bit thin and hard to remove or just not sticky enough to stay on until you complete your DIY project. This has been a vast improvement, it’s sticky enough to stay on yet easy enough to remove with fear of tearing it.

This tape is perfect for anyone new to painting or those who want perfectly straight lines without any drips at all. The outside of the tape has this polymer material that will swell up once any type of liquid touches it, which is important for getting those perfectly straight lines. It’s also very easy to remove without peeling any paint off. There is a lot of tape in this pack I only needed about a quarter of it. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic packaging, it’s difficult to open and I think it’s unnecessary to use so much plastic just for some tape.

Easy to stick and easy to remove. Does what it says on the packet! No problems, easy to find the tape cut off. Easy to place on the wall before painting, I was worried at first because its green and thinking it was going to leave green marks well infact not one single colour of green on my wall and plenty in just one roll. This tape is great to cover up door frames, light switches, sockets, etc – anything you don’t want to get paint over. It lets you paint around items quickly as you don’t need to worry about being neat and tidy. Once the paint is dry, the tape comes off easily without leaving residue or pulling paint off, and it leaves clean, straight edges. In some places, I’ve left the tape on for days, and it still came off easily and neatly. I’ve used 6 rolls of this tape to redecorate my house and has saved me several hours of time.

I have used masking tape for years on my decorating projects but this one seems to be one of the best I have used in years, it sticks and is also easy to remove afterwards if that makes sense. I masked out the areas I wanted to paint, and once painted and left for a short time, I then remove the tape which leaves a nice clean line before the paint sets hard. And with the colour you cannot miss where you have painted. Worth the extra money in my opinion.

I have only ever used masking tape for paint jobs and it has always ruined it and I’ve seen the ads for this and didn’t believe. I am definitely convinced, it’s worth spend a few quid on this because I had a split wall, half deep purple and half white. Not only did it create the most perfect line without paint bleed, it did not take off any of the paint from the wall before.

I tried to use a cheaper ‘sharp line’ tape for a different project which bleed really badly! I decided to buy this for when I did my bedroom wall. As you can see I had brilliant results. The wall was painted white 2 days before the tape was put on (they do recommend at least 3 days) but it didn’t peel any paint off. I put all the tape on then rubbed it quite hard to make sure it was really stuck on there I do think this made a big difference but overall the results were brilliant!
