I have only used the hose a few times so far but found that it doesn’t twist at all which is a tremendous improvement on my old one. It is quite heavy but that isn’t a problem and easy to coil up on a ring for storage. So far well worth the money as it is very easy to use.

I have had this hose 3 months now, and really like it. It is robust enough, and looks smart in my garden. This is a quality product from Gardena. I purchased this when it was on promotion hence my ‘value for money’ score being high.

Disappointed really, it kinks quite badly and doesn’t roll well onto my 50m hose real. Not the best purchase I have made which is disappointing given the cost. I thought it would be good because my old shorter Gardena hose was wonderful.

I was looking for a garden premium hose because I am fed up with cheap hoses bending and not lasting one or two years and after reading the most of reviews on the Gardena brand I order the GARDENA Premium SuperFLEX 30m Hose, I have cut my hose in two parts of 15m each my garden is only 10m so this way it value for money also it a very thick hose and hard to cut but it do cut so it will last longer been thick and now after using it for two months I am happy, it never bends so in future I will stick to the Gardena brand.

I purchased this at a bargain price that was offered and found it of excellent quality. Really pleased with it. It certainly isn’t lightweight especially when laden with water. I have had other hoses and connections in the past that have leaked but this seems sound and of good quality. I have returned back to a solid hose due to my experience with a X-Hose which has burst on me on two occasions, although the principal of these hoses are good in service their longevity doesn’t seem to be that long plus the fittings supplied seem cheap and nasty. The Gardena hose and connections look good and have a quality feel to them.

    Also ich bin zufrieden damit.

Nun hlt alles bombenfest.

    Alles in allem top 👌

Because this was the basic hose in the range I was worried it might be a bit naff. But I’ve had no problem with this hose. It doesn’t kink up and it rolls on and off our wall unit easily. Allows powerful water flow and is compatible with all hose lock and Gardena attachments, as well as pressure washers.

So far very good. To replace my older hoselink that kinked everywhere ( admittedly it was 10 years old) and fittings started to pop off all the time. I think better than others on market for strength and also fittings. It has ridges on hose that allow grip for fittings. Doesn’t kink easily. Impressed and will buy more. Recommend

Having read some of the other reviews mentioning fighting with a snake I too found myself with 30M of uncontrollable coils of hose. Having muttered a few choice words I laid the hose out as best I could and left for 24Hrs. Now the hose has lost its kinks and coils and I was able to wind it on to a reel without any problem.

A Well made, reasonably sturdy German made hose. It does have a mind of it’s own until it is wound around a hose reel. But after a couple of times of extending and retracting the hose, it is tamed, and will settle down. A very distinctive colour scheme too. I am very delighted with my purchase.

  32. Anonymous says:

Heavy duty quality hose which should last much longer than cheaper items which due to thinness soon deteriorate.
If untwisted after pulling out ( or unrolling which avoids twisting, not so easy as not on a reel, ) the hose will lay straight with no kinks. It has a 2 color length stripe which makes it easier to untwist
If you continually walk in the same circular direction while using it you twist it up again and have to untwist to avoid kinks. Alternatively if you circle clockwise 1st time and anti clockwise second time & repeat this sequence every time you use it you will not twist & get kinks. Same applies to electric lawn mower cables Irons etc. NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW THIS! judging from the complaints in the ratings.
Why manufacturers of coiled items don’t warn you of this & instruct buyers how to avoid this is beyond me.
Kinking of hose pipes is exceedingly annoying. Kinking of electric cables is ultimately dangerous as it breaks the internal insulation leading to short circuit which may cause harm. If your cable appears “knobly” then it is kinked & should be unkinked. The knobs show you which way it is twisted so you can twist it the opposite way.
Hope this helps some of you.

It’s a hose. I needed a lightweight hose, but the collapsible flat boxes just perish too easily. This one is more robust but not as light as the flat type. That said it seems a reasonable hose for a fair price. It can kink so don’t pull at it or it could shut your water off.

At first all was well, then the hose split so had to trim back, then again split, then again and so on And despite claims, kinked terribly causing damage. It was so poor it didn’t even last a year!!!!. I switched to the Gardena Premium Superflex. In comparison far more robust, inner tubing is more robust and stronger. It even looks more premium. I chose this hose because it seemed to be good value for its features, and was thinking that being lightweight was an important characteristic for me, as I am not in the first flush of youth anymore. However, compared with my old hose (which blistered and eventually ruptured but was as stiff and heave as anything) this is quite pliable and light, which means that it’s very easy to get a kink in it as you are moving along the garden. I might be able to sort it out eventually, but when I installed it today it was a bit like fighting with an Anaconda…Overall. it seems to have been a good purchase though.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo this was a replacement hose to a previous brand (bright yellow) so wanted to try something different.

Previous hose had become both brittle and dog chewed with a few too many leaks and after cutting off bits/shortening the hose had finally had it.

Decided on this one, a hose is a hose right !!! and thought the colours we’re slightly better too and comes from a good brand of products as GARDENA.

    Hose arrived on all fine.
Removed all hose and off to hose heaven that one went — kept a few lenghts as you never know what you can use a hose for.

My first impressions of the new one, were a bit “uh oh”, as taking it out of the packing and trying to unravel, so I could wind onto our reel (see pic), this kinked and twisted all over the place and was a bit of a pain.

Persisting for a few mins, got most of these out the way and connected and wound onto the reel we have.

Once on the reel, extened out and wound back in a couple of times just to check and it’s been fine ever since, so it was only really the intial un-packing.

It’s a nice hose “light” to unravel when the water is off, obviosuly heavier when water is on.

Seem robust, strong and had no issues in use. I’m actually writing a 2nd review on the head/spray gun too as this is a great product to completment the hose (again colour wise) however also for a practical use point too — this isn’t a Gardena product but I’d really recommend this.

    Good hose exactly as expected

The reason some reviewers have had problems with the hose twisting is they didn’t unroll it properly. It needs to be unrolled so that the stripes running down the hose are straight. If you just pull it out from the coil, it will be very twisted and will be hard to manage.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersLooking for a horse pipe that is substantially made and feels like it when you pick it up and use it?

Looking for a hose that is reasuringly weighty and sturdy? Then buy this Gardena Comfort Flex one.

This Gardena hose is absolutely superb, it screams quality and you don’t really need anything else. For those interested Hozelock connectors will fit it. I’m only using some Hozelock connectors as a convenience and safety system against water damage, more about that later.

The Gardena connectors are perfect and are made for this hose because they are made to lock into the grooves that go around it to make it even more watertight seal.

I’ve set up this hose differently than most as it is connected to an indoor supply using the Gardena connectors. Despite the quality of this hose I’ve cut it into two lengths, so that the part that leaves the indoor supply (3m), can be joined outside my back door as I don’t have room under the sink for a full 30m hose to be stored in any case. I’ll then be able to safely connect them together outside the house using the Hozelock system (which I bought when I bought the dreadful Hozelock hose that I returned), so if they leak it won’t cause damage inside the house. On the working end is the Gardena Aquastop and the spray nozzle. This setup is also perfect for use with my pressure washer out the garden too. After use, the majority of the hose will be in the shed whilst the 3m tap section will be coiled under the sink (Hozelock Aquastop used here).

Still thinking of a Hozelock hose?
Whatever you do, do not buy a Hozelock hose. I had one and it was useless. It was thin, it was twisted/flattened and I couldn’t roll it back up without it twisting everywhere. It was a complete and utter waste of money and I left a review on Amazon for it with a picture.

So as I said, there are no issues with this hose at all. Gardena have made a superb product, with connectors that are designed to be extremely watertight, a hose that feels like quality and behaves like quality. Lthough I’ve used Gardena connectors in all the importand places, Hozelock connectors can be used on it too and it can be used with a pressure washer.

In my area we have really good pressure in our water system, so much so that in my case it has to be reduced at the isolation valve so the CH boiler can have time to heat the water correctly. I temporarily turned it on full and the Gardena connectors did not leak, even with the spray nozzle at the end of the hose closed. There was a little puddle under the Hozelock ones though, but not a lot.

All in all, a great hose, if you want a hose you won’t go wrong with a Gardena Confort Flex.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA quality hose for general use. I was trying to decide whether to buy this or the more premium version. I’m glad I saved the money and got this it does exactly what I need. Watering the garden, rinsing the car, washing things down outside etc.

I got this because the flexi hose I had wasn’t carrying any pressure anymore. Obviously this type of hose needs a bit of looking after. No such thing as kink proof. A hint I found online is to coil it lightly with water still flowing through it. It helps to maintain its form. So far no kinks.

Definitely worth buying for general use.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have been very impressed with this hose thus far.

My previous hose has been made up of two different brands (one very good and one appalling quality), one of which was terrible for kinking and twisting even just laying it out.
Every time I used the hose it would frustrate me having to run back along the length of it and untwist. …

So, on to the Gardena, so far this has been an excellent hose. It is fairly soft to handle compared to the previous cheap plastic job but this makes it very easy to wind up and also run out from the reel. When you lay it down it seems to naturally unwind and lay out so this is a massive improvement.

If you try to kink it there is certainly some resistance to it wanting to cut off the supply. Top marks here.

The colour looks smart but in all honesty it doesnt really matter what colour the hose is for a garden and car washing.

A slight downside is that it is a little narrow as far as its diameter. I found it impossible to connect to the inner connection on the hose reel due to access, so in the end I used the other good quality hose to connect here (since it was slightly larger in diameter) and used a hose to hose connector to double the length of the hose.
So this worked out ok in the end for me but in order to connect the Gardena to the hose reel would mean I would have to take the reel apart to have the access to force it on.

It does appear as though the diameter is just that bit small to affix to the connectors unless you have very good access.
This works out ok when you can apply some force to the connectors to get them on since it means a nice solid connection.

So over all, I am very happy with this hose and the price was priced just perfect. A lot of the reviews do state it kinks but I really do not find this happening.
For me, great hose, 5 stars!

Best hose we’ve ever bought, we have huge garden 160′ and 8 veg plots, this covers it all with ease, no tangles or kinks, so easy to use with gardena attachments. Exceptionally well made, lets hope it stands test time, but so far no issues whatsoever, would definitely recommend to the high usage gardener, allotment brigade like me.

I bought 50m high flex. I expected it to be kink free. It isn’t.

On first use it had multiple kinks all the way along its length. Maybe I didn’t unroll it properly, but having 20 odd kinks to remove is a massive pain. I’m hoping that this will resolve once I use my cart for storage.

I have multiple hoses. A yellow cheap one I bought on Amazon. That one has had no punctures, no kinks and is very solid. I’ve had it for around 5 years.

I have another cheaper one that is in between on kinks. Some kinks, but despite its cheapo cost it no where near as many as gardena.

So my most expensive hose is definitely the worst for kinks.

It has grip grooves for use with the gardena fittings. I’m using with brass. Gripping the brass wasn’t easy, but it’s held and doesn’t leak. But then again every other hose I have has been fine with brass. On balance I’m not sure this feature does anything for me.

I’m assuming that it will deliver on heavy metal free (although it’s not drinking water grade, no heavy metals is my preference for veg) and durability. It’s on this basis I’ve given it 4 stars. If it wasn’t for those, it’s be lucky to get 3*, as there are other cheaper hoses that don’t kink.

Great but why does Amazon require a signed delivery of proof for being over 18? A Garden hose is hardly a murder weapon. I suppose you could attach it to a car exhaust or hang youself with it of maybe water board someone??

As with all tubes you need there is a minimum bent diameter but as long as you are careful with it, it won’t disappoint.

    Is a bit pricy though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this after using my colleagues one for draining down heating systems and flushing them. Most hoses do not last long doing this as the heat usually flattens the hose and then the flow is terrible- not the case with this hose. Coils away great without kinking.

Most hoses are stiff and remain curled up after storage and difficult to get straight. I’ve been replacing all my hoses with these flex version as they are so much easier to handle and roll up much more easily at the end of the seaso

It is very good to handle and easy to roll up I am pleased at the length also.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersThis is truly amazing. You attach one end to your outside tap and turn the tap on and you can deliver fresh water to anywhere within 15 mtrs of your tap..!!! If only farmers had heard of this they would never suffer from drought again. I suggest you market these pipes in Africa and solve the drought problems there. Unbelievable invention.

I bought this hose to replace a bad cheap hose that was almost un-bendable in cooler weather, and never comfortable to use, as it was impossible to unwind straight. I was constantly getting tangled in its snake-like coils! This Gardena hose is the complete opposite, flexible, light and really well made. It unwinds straight and doesn’t seem to kink. It’s slightly more expensive, but great value considering its good quality. Recommended by me!

Seems great quality and doesn’t seem to stop water flow when kinks. Only used once so early dats.

This is a good quality house pipe. It comes in a reel and is a simple pipe but it is well made and feels and looks like a quality product. We have a very long garden so we are having to add several 50m length together, this makes a good start. We already have the extra fittings and these grip to the house well, and we are really happy with the hose, so far no falling off the tap, or ends dropping off.

There is a lot to like about this premium hosepipe from Gardena. It is clearly strong and well made. It still has a degree of flexibility which means you can snake it round corners. My main problem with it was related to the 50m length. My water pressure isn’t great and by the time I had fed it through the length of this hose it had reduced still further. Accordingly the oscillator sprinkler which I have from Gardena would not function properly. When I connected it to a 20m Gardena hose it worked perfectly.

The second issue was that I found getting it on to a hose reel was a challenge. It kept wanting to twist and kink and that meant that to use it I had to fully unwind it. And then try to wind it up again without kinks.

I would expect decent longevity given the build quality but if you are in the market for a hose pipe it is worth thinking about your water pressure.

I love this … A SuperFlex hose that extends to 50m hose complete with power grip profile.

It is difficult to assess whether this hose is aesthetically pleasing or not, however I can say that it not ugly and the transparent outer hose and beading effect means the hose looks better than most. Also this type of hose is very easy to keep neat and tidy as it is easy to roll up neatly due to its super flexibility.

The actual hose is made from a form PVC high quality spiral mesh which looks extremely durable and robust and should last for a good few years. The Power Grip Profile allows for a secure connection between the hose and hose connector (this hose fits with all Original Gardena fitments) and in the three weeks we have been using this hose we have had no leaks or sprays from any joins … which normally seems to happen with our previous hose and fittings.

The length of this hose is very long at 50m (164ft) and should reach all areas of a large suburban garden. This hose works incredibly well and has been used during the last few weeks for washing cars, patios, filling fish ponds and watering pots and new flower beds. I really like the fact that this hose keeps its shape and in use remains more or less tangle free.

I love gardening (our garden is about 105 feet wide by 45 feet deep) and have many, many plants in pots, new plants and shrubs in borders and on banks. With my normal hose which only reaches about 30 feet I have to water most of my plants with a watering can which is no fun when you have a tiered garden and emphysema. With this amazing hose I am able to reach all areas of my garden and no repeated steps back to the tap to refill.

    Perfect.

This is a nice looking hosepipe – a strange thing to say, but it is. The fact it is also very good as a hosepipe is a positive too. It is robust, doesn’t kink and looks like it’ll last. The best feature is the ridges in the hose – so simple and yet so effective at fixing hose attachments and keeping them fixed. I don’t know if they’ve patented that, but it’s very clever and very effective.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe Gardena Premium SuperFlex Hose is a premium hose at an almost premium price.

This hose is really well constructed and at 50m should reach most parts that other hoses cannot reach. The 30 year guarantee is the same as a competitors premium hose guarantee but whether I will still have the receipt before the 30 years are up if it should it fail, I can’t really say. It may well outlast me and I can pass it on to my children. I can just imagine the conversation “this was dads favourite hose, its older than me you know”.

It appears to be free of harmful substances so it might be ok to drink from it, but that is something I wouldn’t advise especially if it’s been laying in the garden for 20 years.

In all seriousness though, the hose is well constructed and has slightly thicker walls than the competitors hose I have been using. The outside of the hose offers some grip too with its ridges but the small downside is that if it gets dirt on it, it won’t be as easy to wipe down as a smooth hose. It is also not particularly heavy either, which is a bonus, though it is not one of those lightweight hoses. Shipping weight is 6.9kg.

Another bonus is that it is compatible with other connectors too. This could save you a little money as you might not have to buy new connectors and could reuse the ones you might have.

I’d recommend getting the Gardena AquaRoll Hose Trolley too, something I have also reviewed. Yes it is a little pricey but the convenience of being able to roll the hose correctly is well worth it. Not only that but if the hose is on the trolley you can wheel it around rather than having to lug it around. It can be set up for left or right handed people

This hose costs less than a competitors 50m 30 year guaranteed hose when at full price but there are always bargains to be had. All in all, the hose is solid and robust, I don’t doubt it will last a long time ‘if’ looked after and I actually quite like the design.

UP THERE WITH THE BEST OF THE PREMIUM LONG HOSES, SOLID, WELL CONSTRUCTED AND BUILT TO LAST

This hugely robust well-made hose is ideal for the purpose we had in mind. A fresh water supply is required to fill water tanks on our boats, and so often any ordinary hose grows green slime inside in no time.

I am impressed by heavyweight strength of this hose, the reinforcement inside, and am enjoying using it without worrying about it kinking. It fitted neatly into all extant fittings from my old hose, it doesn’t come with any of its own.

Well worth the expense in my view.

This is a fantastic garden hose.

The most flexible hose of all from the extensive Gardena hose range, the 50m Premium Super Flex Hose is the best option for the devoted gardener.

As well as ultimate flexibility courtesy of the high-density spiral mesh textile, this hose also offers excellent pressure resistance and will never knot or twist.

The Power Grip Profile that can be found across the ‘Flex’ Gardena hose range provides the perfect connection between hose and connector.

Overall this is a brilliant garden hose that I am sure will last and last.

Gardena, I discovered is a German brand that was bought bun swedish Husqvarna. As I suspected all very Highly quality stuff is produced by these brands.
The hose is in the Colors of the brand, a smart shade of orange, mixed with black. Texture wise it is. It smooth so it can be handled in a good grip easily. I am using it on a Gardena hose trolley so it fits like a glove but am sure it can rolled on any other trolley too.
Overall it is a very good product but not sure it is anti kink as i’ve experienced one already but the sturdiness of the product ensured that no permanent dent is visible.

In summer we water our garden via a roll-out hose with another hose attached to make it long enough. This second hose has become damaged with general wear over the years and needed to be replaced.

This 50metre Gardena hose just fits the bill. It seems really tough and is UVA resistant. It is reasonably flexible to use, although not guaranteed to be kink-free.

This comes as just the hose and no fittings are included.

A good quality item from a respected supplier.

A bewildering range of hosepipes is available these days, and one is hard to put know which is the best choice. Offered at prices ranging from 75 to 83 for 50m, this Gardena product is at the top end of the price range, sitting alongside Hozelock’s “ultimate” hose; at the opposite end, you can pay as little as 20, and just about everything in between – and I have done so in the 30 years of gardening my current 5 acres.

The 20 hoses I’ve bought have been very soft plastic, very prone to rapid UV degeneration, kinking, pin-hole leaks and splitting, the latter especially (and rapidly) if stored with a sharp bend. And goodness knows what went into the plastic of which they were made. All my hoses are stored outside year-round, without protection, and the best “economy” value I’ve found is the yellow kind intended for the building trade. Whilst the 20 green kind disintegrated in less than five years, lengths of the former, permanently laid out through the garden, continue to give good service after 30 years; but bear in mind that they are never rolled up or subject to sharp bends, and in many places are buried so protected from UV.

The next thing to say is that no plastic hosepipe is totally kink proof, including this one, which doesn’t even claim to be. Some competitors may be labelled as kink resistant, but this is a relative term, and in the case of cheap hose, best ignored altogether. The only kink-proof hose I have found, and that very recently, is the even more eye-wateringly expensive “Garden Gear Easy Hose Stainless Steel Garden Water Hosepipe” which appears to be metal-armoured bathroom shower hose, with the same small internal diameter; fine if you have decent water pressure, not so fine in my case, but I still wouldn’t be without it for patio pot watering. Durability is yet to be proved.

Gardena, based in Germany, is a subsidiary of Husqvarna and all their claims about the quality of this hose may be accepted as gospel; why otherwise would they offer a 30-year guarantee ? (Be sure to keep your receipt !) For those who feel they don’t need this standard of quality, they offer more cheaply made, slightly less durable versions, and in fact their cheaper “Classic” 50m hose was my last purchase, 5 years ago. But if you never want to be bothered shopping for garden hose again, this is without doubt the one to choose.

Can’t buy better I had 4 of the expandable types; all useless and blew up. This should last for years just like my first one did, Still have some of that. the connectors are still good and the length of hosepipe for connecting to the trolley is still in good nick. Must be over 35 years old now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usershe hose seems to be pretty strong and relatively flexible. I would have given 5 stars but it likes to remain coiled and doesn’t straighten very easily. this may be an issue for most people using cold water. However, I use warm water as it is solely used indoors to top up a fish tank so becomes more supple.

Had a curly coil hose before which was a pain, this is classy looking with the colours and silver accented fittings (how sad am I?)
My wife baulked at me for spending over 30 on a hose set-up with fittings but after much Googling around this is better bang for buck than the cheaper stuff and really nice to use with the smooth click actions.
