Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf I were to buy again, I’d get the sapphire crystal face. No issue with this but for the extra cash … I think I should’ve.

Due to movement on the wrist, for totally accurate HR data without any intermittance, get a telemetry strap (chest worn HR strap).

In all other ways this is great and does WAY more than I expected. The software is really good and I’ve found seamless interface with stuff like my indoor trainer, and other apps I’ve tried.

It’s a lot of money (for most) but totally see the benefit. It’s not just a funky smart watch, it’s a heavily customisable sport tool

Awesome awesome watch. Use it for hiking to give an easy access map, use whilst sailing to log my course, speed and vmg. Also great for tracking my workouts at the gym, as well as general fitness and sleep patterns. Looks great as well. Got the standard pro model and doesn’t look too big or feel heavy. Also get WhatsApp messages, emails, news alerts without having to get my phone out.

I absolutely love this watch. I’d wanted a fitness watch for a while but they all seemed “huge” on my slim wrists and that put me off. This one, whilst still being relatively large, is perfect for me. I also wanted something which was easy and uncomplicated to use. This ticks all those boxes. I’m not technologically minded at all, so didn’t want anything I couldn’t easily understand or navigate my way around. This watch is just perfect. I wouldn’t be without it now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had this watch for approx 1 month, prior to this i had a FORRUNNER 235. I wanted something that could do proper Navigation Amazon had a great Prime Day deal for this so I took the plunge. I have not regretted it. I’m training for the Manchester Marathon and now as my runs are getting longer the Navigation system is perfect for telling me where to turn and displaying a countdown to the next turn ( I use MAPMYRUN to create my route, download the GPX file, them upload to the watch) another great feature I thought I would not use but love is Garmin Pay, It’s great being out on a run and you need a drink or a cheeky Ice Cream 🙂 you don’t need your card or phone the watch can pay for it. I sleep, shower do everything with the watch and have had no issues.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve only ever used activity trackers made by another top manufacturer (rhymes with bitfit) and I’ll never go back after this. Packed with features for all manner of activities (I mostly use for treadmill, mobile, trekking, kayaking and boating) I’m used to a watch geared towards just one type, but this is excellent for all.
Sturdy, smart, sensible editable menu options, the app is simple to use but packed with information, and the battery lasts a very long time! This thing is brillia

I have had a few Garmin watches, plus a cheap Chinese sports watch over the years, but the quality, functionality and build of the fenix 6 is fabulous. Having only had this for a few days, I am very happy so far. The Connect app is very detailed and for athletes that need this level of functionality, this is a great watch.

Works perfectly for me as a tool in rehabilitation from some serious health issues. I am able to chart my progress and tweak my activity for maximum progress. Well worth the price.

Bought this Garmin Fenix 6 as a replacement for a Fenix 5 that failed (and subsequently recovered leaving me with two watches!!!). The Fenix 6 screen is definitely an improvement over that used on the 5 and the software is also laid out better than the earlier iterations. While I didn’t want to have to buy a new watch I am actually pleased with the newer design.

A definite improvement over the Fenix 5.

Having a been an avid Garmin user for years this watch truly knocks it out of the park when it comes to battery life. It has a strong and sturdy design, fits well and the map feature is great when it comes to exploring new routes.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPurchased the watch because I was fed up with my iwatch failing to properly capture my runs (especially trail runs through woods etc)…. this watch however locks onto the GPS signal within seconds, regardless of the overhead conditions (trees etc)…. has so many options for what you want to see whilst running (pace, heart rate, cadence, elevation, time…. the list goes on!)…. battery life is awsom: 20days as a watch and 60hrs in gps mode…although I have yet to run for 60hrs to prove that’s true 🙂 ….

It also comes with bespoke training plans, which you can adjust and tailor for your needs, and the watch tells you what you need to do (slow down/speed up etc) whilst running so it’s like having a personal trainer with you all the time!

as a fairly serous amateur runner I have yet to find a drawback….

Excellent watch and bought at a good price.Does all I needed of it.Heart rate monitor not the most accurate at times.
The only thing that I would prefer is if bezel was higher to protect screen as when I use glass screen protector it sits slightly higher than bezel.Afraid to use without protector for this reason
Had a Suunto core and it bezel is higher and never used a screen protector and glass scratch free after many years use .

A brilliant device for tracking all that you do and helps you navigate and follow pre-loaded routes in the outdoors. Note that whilst it has all UK topo maps installed these do not have contours on which is a shame and caused me to purchase a third party map set.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to help motivate me to get out and so some exercise.
The 6x Pro on Amazon was cheaper than the Fenix 6 on a number of other sites, so going large was a no brainer.
Good easy to read screen, that seems to be infinitely configurable to meet your needs (or what you are wearing).
A lot of smart watches come with a few days battery life and this has consistently given me 14 days between charges.
For a lot of people this is going to be overkill for your needs but the positive is that you are unlikely to outgrow it. The number of exercises it can record is a lot larger than most I looked at, and if it doesn’t include your exercise of choice simply add it yourself via the app.
The large screen sits quite nicely on the average wrist and doesn’t feel heavy or uncomfortable, the strap is a nice fit and I like that the retainer has a safety feature to slip into the last hole to help prevent loss.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to replace my Polar m400. I wanted it as I’m getting more in to trail running and want to use the route mapping functions. It’s great after linking your Strava and Garmin accounts you go on Strava and find a route and save it then it’ll be on the watch once updated. Just select the route and follow the trail. I haven’t created my own route yet but have followed other people’s who run locally to me.

Excellent battery life even when not on battery saver. Build quality is brilliant, feels as if carved out of one block of metal yet it’s not heavy.
I had a Garmin watch before so I was comfortable with the very comprehensive app, though the Fenix is a much more capable watch in terms of information.
It’s not cheap for a sports watch, and unless you’re using it for it’s proper purpose may not be worth the extra expense over the many option in the market.
But if you are using it for health and fitness measurement it is absolutely stonking at what it does and well worth the cost.

battery life easy 2 weeks even with regular training (average 5 days a week for approx 1 hour). you can wear and forget (like i do) or delve into the detailed features to optimise and track everything. its comfortable too, its the first watch i wear at night without bother. would highly recommend over cheaper options as its an investment in your health in the long run and you can grow with it as you increase your fitness tracking and activity

This is an amazing product for anyone wanting to monitor or improve fitness and is a stats geek (like me).
Had a few niggles to start with, but called Garmin support (UK based experts- answered within a minute, put straight through to the tech support who were not reading from a script) who knew exactly what I was doing wrong and sorted the issue out in minutes.
    Love it.

Light years ahead of my Fitbit, love the Fenix. It does so many things right that it’s a shame their Bluetooth stack is broken and stopped working with many popular Bluetooth headphones. I own Jaybird Vista headphones and before the watch updated to a newer firmware they worked great, after the update they disconnect after a few minutes every time. Looking online it’s the same for many other owners and they’ve not fixed the issue for months. As being able to play music without my phone was one of the reasons for buying, it’s put a damper on an otherwise almost perfect watch.

    – Good battery life (5 days)
    – charges quickly
    – heart monitor seems to work well (compared to old gamin vivo active)
    – new features like body battery interesting
    – seemless connection to phone
    – like the sleep monitor

    Not so good
    – Not very comfortable initially. Had to buy a new strap (the original strap was more designed for women and as a 6’5” 100kg man, needed something a bit bulkier!) Now it’s very comfortable.

Brilliant watch for tracking your activities, smart watch functions are a lot better than I was expecting compared to GoogleWear watches I have used in the past and looks good as well. Yes the watch (6x)is large but I have been wearing largish watches for a long time , so it does not feel too big which was a concern.

Much better screen than my old 3 model. And the wrist heartrate seems very robust! No need for the strap unless you want to go nuts with running dynamics. And even then, it’s worth to check your stats once in a while to verify the progress, so need to torture yourself with the strap every time. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor me there isn’t anything that combines the Fenix 6 Pro’s ability to track runs and walks, have offline Spotify playlists, be incredibly easy to read in the sunlight and have a battery that lasts from 10-40 days depending on usage and sensors. Only flaw is the screen resolution which doesn’t look as nice up close as an OLED display on the venu, apple or galaxy watches, but the battery life trade off is well worth it. The Garmin app is also great if you’re just getting into running and if you want a lot of performance metrics.

Traded in my Garmin Vivoactive 3 for the 6S and I just love it! The golf features are way beyond that of the Vivoactive. There is no hassle to download courses and sync the watch before playing as it picks it up automatically. I’ve been measuring my Pulse Ox levels as well which has give valuable insight into my blood oxygen levels.

I’ve been doing some cardio as well and love the recommendations the watch provides after a good/bad night’s sleep regarding how many hours I should rest between training sessions.

Still to try the maps and additional features.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe Fenix 6 is a great piece of kit. It does what it says on the tin! It does NOT have the music feature, contrary to what I thought (my fault)….you need the 6S, 6 Pro etc for music. It also does not have headphone connectivity. Apart from that the watch is superb and works well with Garmin connect. The only negative is – Sleep tracking….it sometimes fails to track sleep.

Since march last year I’ve been getting fit and by excersizing and dieting and lost 8 stone so far, brought this watch as a treat for myself to replace my original Fitbit versa and I love it. Planning on getting in to mountain biking again as it’s something I used to do and really enjoy and plus keeping up my fitness at the same time so the added GPS stuff will come in handy. Battery life is excellent at 12-14 days on a full change. Screen is very readable in even the slightest of day or moonlight and the face illuminates for darker times when you press a button (buttons by the way is another bonus to this smartwatch/fitness tracker if you have large hands like mine). Steps seem accurate enough as well as heart rate. Sleep tracking also seems pretty accurate. Looks and wears like a G-Shock and if like me that’s your thing and your looking for a smart fitness tracker then maybe this is for you.

The watch feels so much more robust than my previous one and the step is much better. Really like the size of the display also. The only downsize is that the Garmin pay is not supported by many UK banks. Would definitely recommend this item

I came from Galaxy watch 2 and have to say this was worth it. The watch is of very high quality. Battery life beyond anything you can find on the market smartwatch wise. I have been running for 4 days for over an hour each time with GPS and music and still had over 60% of battery left after that. Everything just works. And I don’t mind compromising on display quality and touch screen. Well worth the money.

I really like this watch. I work out 6 days a week- mainly weights and running. For running this thing is class. Does everything you need it to. GPS seems accurate, and being able to just casually look at my wrist for pace is amazing. Used to run with my phone and the Touch ID would stop working when my hands got sweaty lol. Connecting to the garmin app is like instant and you can also sync runs with other apps like Nike run club or Strava. I have a small wrist (15cm) and the 6x pro doesn’t feel or look too big so hopefully that helps someone out who also has that question. For weights its decent but if there was a way to disable the auto rep count it be would be much improved because sometimes it works and sometimes it’s completely wrong. To be fair I didn’t buy the watch for weights so i don’t really care, but it isn’t great for weight training. The body battery, sleep tracking, training status and vo2 max make the high price worth it. I couldn’t decide between a garmin or an Apple Watch but these features make me glad I chose a garmin. Maps I’ve honestly never really used but the ability to make a course based on distance and make it circular will definitely come in handy in the future, but with lockdown haven’t really had a chance to leave the house much and I know the area well so using maps would just be a waste atm. As for activity profiles there’s so many and I know I’m only really going to use weights, cardio, running, maybe yoga, walk and hiking. Does seem a shame to have so many and not use them but at least there’s the option. Overall its definitely worth the money but if you want accurate hr for hiit/intervals your gonna have to buy a chest strap. Also kinda sucks Amazon has gradually been decreasing the price over the past few weeks.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersIf you want the best you have to pay for it, bit worth every penny in my opinion. Does just about everything and a bit more, I don’t expect to use all the features but if I need them I have them. Looks great, even with the cover I bought to protect the casing as shown in picture. No its not a full smart watch with touch screen but you just can’t get the fitness functionality you have on the Fenix 6x Pro on any smart watch, so if your serious about you fitness look no further. Great piece of kit…… Right off on my bike following the route on my watch.

If you want the best you'll have to pay for it!

Fair play to Amazon, They issued a refund before the broken watch got back to them. I added a few extra pounds and bought the 6s pro. Alot of the same features but way better looking and everything on it seems alot better. Battery is twice as good and the widget set up is very good.
If buying do get some screen protectors. They work really well and not noticeable on the watch. Too expensive a watch to scratch which can happen..

Being able to swap and change the watch face display is good fun. I have had difficulty connecting to Strava, one run uploaded the other hasn’t, odd! I bought it for the battery life and so far I am impressed (My last watch (tom tom) had to be recharged every day).

This is one of the top watches for fitness.
To get the full benefits of health and fitness, I also purchased the Garmin Running Pod, which gives you real-time stats on running dynamics.
Map also big help for me when out on trails and, the “bread crumb” feature helps you get “UNLOST” by helping you track back to where you started.
The Felix 6 series watch is also much lighter than the previous (5) series, therefore much more comfortable to wear.

If you’re not bothered about OS maps or music then this watch ticks all the boxes. You can create a route in the Garmin app and download it to the watch which works fine for road running. It then works like a basic sat nav. But the garmin app is. It great a creating off road routes which is a shame.
Great battery life. Used it for swimming the other day and that’s got some great features (drill times, rest times etc).
It also looks great with the silver bezel.
Would recommend to anyone that wants a decent garmin watch upgrade.

I’ve used this for walking, cycling and running so far and it works well . Before I bought the watch I had doubts about how good the maps would be but my worries were unfounded, maps are good. One of the best sport orientated watches on the market. Expensive ( 520 ) but you get what you pay for. My second Garmin watch, no problems with my previous watch which I had on my wrist every day for 2 years. I decided it was time for an upgrade, no regrets so far.

Brilliant watch (6X). Far more comprehensive than any others I looked at. Superb smartphone apps to go with it (but which require Garmin servers to be up in order to work). Very usable in bright sunlight (better than in dark!), Properly waterproof. Very expensive but worth it. Good looking and well made. Touch screen would be nice.

I was really impressed by the things this watch had to offer but I found myself using only the features available on the cheaper options.
It looks amazing and despite being a little bit heavy, the rubber strap held it comfortably in position and I barely noticed it on my wrist.
The GPS accuracy was spot on, as was the HR and ox sensors but as I have discovered with other Garmin watches, the altimeter was not so accurate, putting me at -100ft below sea level when I was up a mountain and could see the sea 450ft below.
I am told there are different settings to correct this but for a 500+ watch, this should be a straight out of the box working feature IMO.
The battery life was impressive, compared with my old Garmin Instinct, I could get a week of use, including 10+hrs of GPS tracking and still have more than 20% left.

If you’re thinking of buying this as a fitness watch and this is at the top end of your budget, I would recommend choosing something lighter and with less features and saving the rest of your money for something that will make your sport more enjoyable.

This watch is for an extreme minimalist outdoorsman who wants the luxury of GPS, music, fitness tracking (and a wallet, where you can use Garmin pay) without having to carry a phone.

My husband purchased this for me as an anniversary gift and it’s overall really fantastic!

    My favourite things:
    1) I have managed to download free GPX maps of of all my planned long runs, including the ultra trail. This watch allows you to also do the course in reverse to mix things up! I am doing more trail & fell runs now and don’t need to keep a physical map for navigation.

    2) The battery life is 9days!! Ok this is a lot lower with GPS on but still covers my 4hr to 10hr races. It’s such a relief to know your watch isn’t going to die on you half-way through a race and you can revel in the data afterwards.

    3) The 6S Pro is a lot smaller on my wrist than my current Polar watch. I can’t tell I’m even wearing it on runs it’s so comfortable.

    4) I love the fact you can customise the watch face. It’s a small detail but I have: battery, full date, time and hr visible.

    5) Great watch if your clumsy…this is one tough but if kit! I’ve only had it a couple of weeks but have already dropped it on tiled flooring glass down AND tripped up on very rough terrain during a run But no damage done- not even a scratch!

There are so many things to like but those are my top ones.

    Things that could be improved:
    1) Ok so many have reviewed that the HR is inaccurate. I can confirm this. I wore both my hr watches at the same time and the farming is 10bpm higher than Polar. Polar have great reliability one of the best and most accurate on the market. Therefore, I am inclined to take Polar reading as more accurate. Consequently, I have purchased a chest hr monitor to gain more accuracy. Haven’t tried this yet so unable to comment.

    2) Pricey! Come on Garmin reduce the price so mere mortals can enjoy your amazing products! (I can’t believe my husband actually got this for me. He’s just the best ever.)

    3) Garmin Pay does NOT work! NatWest and First Direct have NOT yet agreed to use this method of payment, so I currently am unable to use. I even tried a credit card and they have also refused. I can only conclude this has something to do with the lack of security offered whilst using the payment system.

    4) Charge port has exposed pins for charging cable connection. I really hope this does not corrode with sweat (!)
I had this problem with two previous Polar models which I washed every time (and dried) after use but this failed to prevent damage. Polar did kindly replace my watch free of charge very quickly no quibble, and clearly learned a lesson, as all newer models were sealed.

All in all, it’s an amazing watch and if it stays problem free it will certainly be the best I’ve had.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis watch has a reel premium feel to it, as soon as you take it out if the box . The screen quality is excellent, as is the button operation, sport metrics and overall features. However, only downside is the strap. It allows the watch to wobble around your wrist, so I ordered a talk-time curved rubber strap (see photo). It transformed the fit and feel, no more movement. Overall, great watch, best you can get for outdoor, active sports use. I use it for cycling, gym, hiking. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAfter changing multiple smartwatches from Apple, Samsung, Fitbits and so on … I can only say that I am sorry I did not go for the Garmin to begin with… would have definitely saved a lot of money.
Battery life when charged says 21 days. With no activities, it would do it.
If you use GPS tracking, heartbeat broadcasting, navigating using the map it would still easily last you a good week and that is with HR running in the background.
It is not heavy, straps start showing wear after time but definitely not asking for a change.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis watch is amazing, truly is. The 6Pro is everything I hoped it would be and more.
I was expecting the watch itself to be quite big on my wrist but I was pleasantly surprised to wrong, it fits my average sized wrist without looking oversized.
Set up wasn’t difficult, usual stuff like account and wifi setup. The personalisation parts are great, giving options for screen display, functions you use and even colour preferences for some bits.
Battery is mega, I have charged once in 2.5 weeks and used for an activity at least once a day every day.
The app is good to use and gives accurate info.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt takes a bit of getting used but when you do get used to this watch can literally save your life. There’s been two times I’ve been on a trail and completely lost myself and this watch has gotten me home.
The gps is usually very accurate although before the update I did have some problems
The heart sensor gives almost identical readings to my chest strap.
It’s a great watch for swimming ,running, cycling and general readings like stress and sleep.
One small accessory feature which was really valuable to me is called “breathwork” it’s like a meditation app in the watch that helps you control your breath. I feel the watch is fairly light . I’m a small guy . I have gone on 20 km runs and I didn’t really feel the watch on my wrist. It is expensive but for me it has been worth every penny and it has definitely helped me in my trainings . It will take time to find where all the settings are and adapt to all the hundreds of features but once you do it becomes a very natural process.

A great watch for health fanatics

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this watch as I wanted off-road GPS navigation with a decent running app and music via bluetooth. Comparing it with other, cheaper, smartwatches that would run View Ranger and Google Fit on WearOS, I decided to keep this watch. My Pros and Cons:

+ Strong battery life, even for the 6s. It lasts around 4 days while using GPS for shorter runs (>10 km) and checking stuff every now and then. I aim to use it for a 24 hour walk in Wales and can be confident it will last with navigation.
+ GPS and music without carrying my phone, cheaper wearOS devices would need the phone with one all the time
+ Advanced running and fitness stats, including a decent Garmin Coach program. Great for race planning and preparation.
+ Very light weight compared to other watches, esp. compared with the Fenix 6 Pro
+ The body battery, sleep analysis and pulse oxygen measurements are very useful for general physiology

    Cons:
    – 300 GBP more expensive than other watches that can navigate, pace runs and play music
    – no control for music on the phone, only for tracks directly on the watch
    – Street navigation more cumbersome than Google Maps (Nevertheless, Sendpoints is a great help in putting in new locations from the phone)
    – The weather app is not the most accurate data provider, way overestimates probability of rain
    – The strap is quite thin and the watch small. Great for running but a sophisticated urbanist with bigger forearms than mine might find this watch too small and unaesthetic

Perfect watch, worth the money for specific purposes, e.g. trail running

I have owned many many different brands. This is the best I have owned. Connects to the Satellites super fast and to my phone. Screen displays are really clear and contain the information I need to track my daily and weekly progress. I use this for cycling, running, hiking and as a daily tracker of calorie usage. The strength setting for the gym isn’t that useful or accurate. Battery life is incredible and am about to use it for my triathlon training. Not sure how good it will be in the pool or open water.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersHeart rate not the most accurate but I use a chest strap
Gps spot on slightly better that my old fenix 5
Battery I get between 19 to 27 days with using the gps ever other day for running and cycling also use it fb or cross training every other day. I keep the pulse ox off as don’t use or need it and if you use it for sleep only you will lose minimum 7 days and for 24/7 pulse ox you lose a minimum of 12 day.
Love the music especially now it has Amazon link in
It’s the best gps watch on the market at the moment I tested the suunto 9 baro and the polar vantage v as comparison
Expensive but if you are a serious all rounder the worth the money

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersReally like the 6, I had the 5 before but returned it shortly after buying. I have always had mechanical watches but I like the 6 enough to sell my auto mech and use as my daily wear. All sensors work well and seems robust no issues so far. Only thing I think is a bit daft is Garmin using their own design charging connector, it’s not the best.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThese are fantastic sports or hiking watches. Very flexible and easy to customize. I run two to three times a week. Using the GPS for walks as well up to 3 times a week, the battery charge lasts me a full week. Highly recommend. I came from the Samsung gear S3, the screen and interface is not as good as the S3. But every thing else is much better. For a big watch, the black verson is understated on the wrist. The information the phone app get from the watch is very complete and detailed. The wrist based heart rate monitor gives and identical count to my chest based monitor. Very good value for money.

This is a must have watch for those who seek for the benchmark in the market. The watch last about 2 weeks which is exceptional coming from a galaxy and Huawei watch I guarantee that you will love it. It has all the features of a smartwatches I mean everything which is needed.
THIS WATCH IS A MUST HAVE. LOVE THE BATTERY

Simply the best watch available. Not worth the change up from a 5 plus, however it’s the best you’ll get at this point in time.

Build quality is superb, and the aesthetics of the watch are excellent. Feels like a proper watch and performs like the best running watch available. Screen seems clearer than the 5, and the battery is on a par. Sensors seem very accurate as expected, and the watch sits well on the wrist. Strap could be a little bit longer for some, perhaps another cm or two but it’s perfectly fine for me.

Previous watches include suunto 5, Garmin 735XT, 645, 245, and Fenix 5. The Fenix 6S is easily the best among them.

One small negative is my bank (Nationwide) doesn’t work with Garmin pay yet. Indications are they won’t sign up for it either.
